What is Bleach Blade Battlers?
------------------------------
Bleach Blade Battlers is a 4 player fighting game for the Playstation 2.
In here players can choose up to 23 characters from the Anime Bleach and
engage in battle. The game is currently only in Japanese, so I decided to
make a guide to help the players decipher the various things the game has
to offer.
As time goes on and people get more attuned to the fighting style of the
game for competitive play, I will up date this FAQ with character descriptions
and stuff like that, as well as clearer translations of what's going on in the
game. Also, as I unlock more stuff I'll get to unlocking more things.
Update: Finished getting all the items. In the future I'll put up a Character
Description and Movelist in the FAQ once I've seen how the characters play
competitively.
Each character, while fighting, has a life bar and a small bar underneath.
This small bar is the reiatsu bar and determines if a character can do certain
special attacks.
The small orange circles beneath the reiatsu bar determine the number
of extra lives the character has. Once the life bar of a character is all
used up, if he still has an orange circle, this will be converted into a full
life bar, and the reiatsu bar will be reset. Normal battles usually grant two
of these lives to the characters.
Square - Normal Attack. Pressing square more than once will unitiate a string
of combos.
Triangle - Special Attack. Pressing triangle more than once will initiate a
string of special attacks (not applicable to all characters.)
Triangle+Direction - Pressing triangle plus a direction on the left analog
stick will initiate a different special attack.
R1+Square - Strong attack. This sometimes breaks guard. If the enemy is
attacking you, you will receive no damage for a few frames and still go through
with the Strong attack.
R1+X - Parry. This Parries the enemy's move and leaves him open to
counterattack. You can also parry while guarding, just hold R1 to block and
hit x, anticipating the enemy's attack.
L1 - Locks on to an enemy. Use this to change between multiple targets. If you
hold L1 and press a direction on the left analog stick, your character will run
in that direction and break lock on.
D-pad - use this to change between multiple targets.
R1+L1 - when you have a full bar of reiatsu and have 50% of life left
(life bar is flashing red) pressing R1 and R2 will do a power up move.
This is usually Bankai/Shikai for the shinigami characters and a power up
version for the rest. You will have the ability to shunpo without cost for
some. The reiatsu bar will turn red and slowly run out; when it does your
character returns to normal.
L2 - performs a team attack. In the CPU's case I think it summons the
character closer to you.
R2 - Damage Cancel. This needs two segments of the Reiatsu bar to perform,
however it cancels any attack. If the opponent is near he/she will be blown
off by the damage cancel.
Right Analog Stick - This enables your character to shunpo, roll or teleport
to avoid moves. Some use no reiatsu to perform (Mayuri) and some do
(most Shinigami)
Circle - cinematic special. This requires an entire bar of reiatsu to hit.
It is unblockable but can be parried or damage canceled. If it misses for
some reason, one and a half of the three segments of the reiatsu bar will be
consumed.
Circle+Direction - Enables your character to perform a different,
non-cinematic special. It uses one segment of the reiatsu bar to perform.
Square+X - Throw. Breaks through guard.

Free Battle is basically... a free battle.
Tag mode lets you fight 2 vs. 2.
Single mode is basically a free for all. You can fight 1 on 1 or a four player
battle with every man for himself.
Training mode is a mode where you can use your different skills. You can
change the training options to change the way you train. More on this later.
Urahara's shop - here you can view things you've unlocked, like figurines,
movies, pictures and other bleach related stuff.
Options lets you change stuff in regarding the game like the difficulty,
saving your game and so on.
there are 23 characters in this game. At the beginning you only have access
to five:
Kurosaki Ichigo
Kuchiki Rukia
Inoue Orihime
Yasutora Chad
Uryuu Ishida
you can unlock different characters by getting at least a specific score in
the Normal mission mode. This score is the red number at the upper left part
of the mission mode screen.
The other 18 characters, and the points needed to unlock them, are as follows:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Character Least points needed to unlock
-------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------
Team Attacks and Compatibility
-------------------------------
Team Attacks (Press L2) depend on one character's compatibility with the other.
If these characters get along well, they will probably be able to do a team
attack. Characters that everyone hates, like Aizen, barely have any compatible
characters.
Also, the doability of double attacks depend on which character initiates the
attack. For example, Ururu cannot initiate an attack with Aizen, but if Aizen
initiates the attack instead with Ururu as a partner, there's a possibility
that a double attack will be initiated.
During battle, certain items pop up from certain destructible items.
Rukia's Glove - Attack up?
Ward thingy - Defense up?
Suitcase with Heart - replenishes the life bar. The amount of life granted
depends on the size of the suitcase
Soul Candy (violet) - Increases your reiatsu. There are two sizes.
Soul Candy (yellow) - Gives you infinite reiatsu for a certain amount of time.
Your reiatsu bar will flash violet.
Justice Hachimaki - This will prevent you from getting knocked down or stunned
during a move, similar to Kenpachi's power up state. It looks like a white
piece of armor.
Metal Ball - Use normal attacks to knock this around. It can hit the enemy
(or you!) for damage. Hit it enough times and it will break.
Metal Trap - This will hold your enemy (or you!) in place, rendering that
character immobile for a few seconds. Rotate the analog stick to set yourself
free.
Bomb - When released, this will slowly flash red. After an amount of time it
will explode and cause damage over a wide area. You can smack bombs around with
normal attacks.
Coin - Gives you 100 gold.
Chest of Gold - Gives you 1000 gold.
------------------------
Story Mode Walkthrough
------------------------
Story Mode is a 6-episode mode that includes all original stories not
related to the manga/anime. Completing missions in story mode will unlock extra
stages for your characters to play in.
I don't believe playing the mode on Normal/Captain Level will change the
outcome or prizes won on Story Mode, so just play it on Normal.

Normal Missions are battles that can either be single or two player
(with either a friend or the CPU) that entail beating the enemy under certain
conditions. Depending on certain things, like the time of completion, the way
you finish your opponent and so on, you will be given a rank from D to S,
S being the highest. Completing these missions will unlock new characters to
play.
Sword Hunting Missions are special missions that make you fight a one-one
one battle. Completing these missions unlocks the ability of some of your
characters to use the specials of others, as well as some special movies.
------------------------------
Normal Mission List
------------------------------
There are 50 playable missions in the game, you will have 5 at first, but as
you get higher scores, you will get access to all the missions.
Depending on what you do, and the time it took to complete the missions, you
will get a letter grade from D to S. S is the highest grade, attainable only
by playing at the Captain Level.
If you finish the mission a few seconds too late to get an A or an S, try
finishing with a cinematic special, which will give you a bonus of +1 point.
In normal difficulty:
A rank requires a score of 9 or above on a mission
B rank requires a score of 6 to 7 on a mission
C rank requires a score of 2-5 on a mission
D rank requires a score of 0-1 on a mission
In Captain Level Difficulty:
S rank requires a score of 8 or above on a mission
A rank requires a score of 6 to 7 or above on a mission
B rank requires a score of 5 and below on a mission
I've never gotten C in Captain Level before, so I don't know what happens then.
With regards to scores:
A rank adds 2 to the red score
B rank adds 1 to the red score
C rank adds 0 to the red score
D rank adds nothing
Pausing While doing a mission has the following options:
- Return to Game
- Retry
- Mission Clear Objectives
- Movelist
- Special Attack Move List
- Return to Mission Select
- Return to Main Menu
Once you've completed all of the missions in Normal Mode (regardless of grade)
once you opt to play them again in Normal mode, you will be given a choice. If
you answer yes (right option) your character will have INFINITE reiatsu! Very
useful for getting A on some missions. The same thing happens when you finish
all the missions in Captain Level - definitely a good thing for getting S in
some missions.
Now on to the missions!
Legend:
Objective: What you have to do to win.
Tag/Single Battle: if the battle is single or two player
Player Buffs/Handicap: Handicaps or buffs given to your player
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Same as above.
Player Extra Lives: Number of Extra lives for the player
Opponent Extra Lives: Number of Extra lives for the opponent
Time to Get: you have to clear the mission within this time to get an A or S.
This is mainly based on personal observation so the real time may be earlier or
later by a bit.
Notes: Advice on how to clear the mission
note: some mission objectives are not direct translations, but they are
basically what you have to do to win.
note 2: I'm not sure about the increased attack/defense, but it sure seems
that way.
==============
Mission 1
==============
Objective: Defeat Chad and Ururu!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 1
Stage: Karakura High School
Time to Get: 130
Notes: Straightfoward mission. Quite easy since you have a life advantage.
Just watch out for Ururu; I suggest taking her down first.
==============
Mission 2
==============
Objective: Defeat Ishida Uryuu and Mayuri Kurotsuchi!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Soul Society (Court of Pure Souls)
Time to Get: 150
Notes: Still an easy mission. It's like team battle in Free mode. Choose your
best team and fight.
==============
Mission 3
==============
Objective: Defeat Rangiku and Soifon!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Kurosaki Clinic
Time to Get: 170
Notes: At the beginning, when you have few characters, this may be troublesome.
Lifewise you are disadvantaged and you may not be able to finish this with an
A at first try. Soifon is pretty troublesome since she moves around so much.
Try finishing this later with the other characters.
==============
Mission 4
==============
Objective: Defeat Hitsugaya and Hinamori!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: infinite reiatsu
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 3
Stage: Gotei 13 Mansion (Interior)
Time to Get: 110
Notes: This may seem hard but it's actually very easy because you have infinite
reiatsu. Just get both characters continuously in cinematic specials to KO them
quickly. You may want to go Bankai for your character but it takes longer. If
you want, use Mayuri or Komamura as a partner and have them go Bankai.
==============
Mission 5
==============
Objective: You have 60 seconds to defeat Kon!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Forest of Dead Souls
Time to Get: around 30 seconds is fine
Notes: Don't use Ishida. Hehe. It's wise to use a character with a ground
attack or a tracking attack to take care of Kon easily.
==============
Mission 6
==============
Objective: Defeat Urahara and Yoruichi!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: Max reiatsu at start
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Max reiatsu at start
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Yoruichi's Training Area
Time to Get: 150-160
Notes: Try getting both characters in a cinematic special at the same time with
your Max Reiatsu. However, watch out since they will probably be doing the same
to you.
==============
Mission 7
==============
Objective: Defeat Kon and Kurotsuchi Mayuri!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Soul Society (Rukongai)
Time to Get: 110
Notes: Ignore Mayuri for the moment and concentrate on Kon. Make him use up the
enemy's life stock. Afterwards, beat up on Mayuri.
==============
Mission 8
==============
Objective: Defeat Ichimaru and Hitsugaya!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 1
Stage: Forest of Dead Souls
Time to Get: 160
Notes: This is pretty straightfoward. Just use your best chara and go for it.
Watch out for Hitsugaya's Bankai, so it might be wise to take him out first.
==============
Mission 9
==============
Objective: Defeat Zaraki Kenpachi and Madarame Ikkaku!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Attack up
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Gotei 13 Mansion (Interior)
Time to Get: 170
Notes: These two might be a little troublesome, but they're manageable. Pick
your best team and beat them up. Watch your life as they do more damage.
==============
Mission 10
==============
Objective: Defeat 30 hollows!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Forest of Dead Souls
Time to Get: 120
Notes: My advice here is to use a character with long, sweeping range, like
Renji, Ikkaku or Hollow Ichigo (especially Hollow Ichigo.) After defeating
29 hollows, Hollow Ichigo will show up. Just defeat him as you would normally.
==============
Mission 11
==============
Objective: Defeat Yoruichi and Kaname Tousen!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: jump disabled
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 1
Stage: Ruins
Time to Get: around 120-130
Notes: This is another easy mission. Don't worry about Jump being disabled.
Just pick your best team.
==============
Mission 12
==============
Objective: Defeat Ishida Uryuu and Kurosaki Ichigo!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Karakura High School
Time to Get: 170
Notes: Take care of Ishida first and Ichigo will then be a cakewalk.
==============
Mission 13
==============
Objective: Defeat Kon!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Kon has increased defense
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Kurosaki Clinic
Time to Get: 110
Notes: Another defeat Kon stage. Use your best anti-Kon character and lay on
him.
==============
Mission 14
==============
Objective: Defeat Chad and Madarame!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Forest of Dead Souls
Time to Get: 120
Notes: Straightforward mission. Just pick your best team.
==============
Mission 15
==============
Objective: Survival: fight three Tag Matches in a row!
Tag/Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stages: Yoruichi's Training Area, Rukongai, Court of Pure Souls
Time to Get: Around 250
Notes: You will be fighting enemies in this order:
Hinamori Momo + Matsumoto Rangiku
Kaname Tousen + Shinigami
Kuchiki Rukia + Abarai Renji
Just pick your best team and go for it. They're quite easy for now.
==============
Mission 16
==============
Objective: Defeat Kuchiki Rukia and Inoue Orihime!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Karakura High School
Time to Get: 150 is fine, but you can go to 160
Notes: Rukia will pin you down while Orihime attacks you, so I recommend taking
out Rukia first. The rest is easy.
==============
Mission 17
==============
Objective: Defeat Sajin Komamura and Mayuri Kurotsuchi! The last remaining
opponent must be defeated with a Cinematic Special!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Rukongai
Time to Get: 100
Notes: Watch out for the Pigs. Seriously. The pigs may kill your enemies before
you can, making you FAIL the mission. Bonny in particular tracks characters
down before running them over, so be careful. Defeat one of the opponents (I
suggest Mayuri but it's up to you) normally then defeat the other one by
pressing circle when their life is around 20% or less.
==============
Mission 18
==============
Objective: Defeat Ichimaru Gin and Matsumoto Rangiku!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: I'm not sure, but their reiatsu bar seems to fill
up quicker.
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Yoruichi's Training area
Time to Get: 170
Notes: Take care of Rangiku first as she can combo with Gin well. Otherwise
this is a pretty straightforward battle.
==============
Mission 19
==============
Objective: Defeat Kuchiki Byakuya, Zaraki Kenpachi and Kisuke Urahara in a
free for all!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 1 each
Stage: Kurosaki Clinic
Time to Get: 250
Notes: This is a 4 player free for all, basically you have three opponents. The
good news is not all three of them will be going at you; usually just one
of them chases you (usually Kenpachi) while the other two fight each other.
So take care of whoever is chasing you first, then intervene with the other two
and hit them as they're attacking each other.
==============
Mission 20
==============
Objective: In 180 seconds, defeat 50 hollows!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Ruins
Time to Get: for best results finish at around 90 seconds
Notes: Like before, use either Renji or Hollow Ichigo (the latter is
recommended.) Once you've defeated 50 hollows you've won the mission. Watch out
for the sword thingy that pops up in the middle of the screen at some times.
==============
Mission 21
==============
Objective: Defeat 4 Powered up Shinigami!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: attack up, defense way up
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Gotei 13 Mansion (Interior)
Time to Get: 110
Notes: You will be fighting 4 Shinigami who can take a lot of damage.
Unfortunately for them, that's all they really have going for them. Use your
best team and try to get more than one at a time to finish the mission fast.
==============
Mission 22
==============
Objective: Defeat opponents in this Order: Hollow Ichigo --> Kurosaki Ichigo
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Karakura High School
Time to Get: 150
Notes: In Captain Level, this mission is quite challenging. Both Ichi and Hichi
are aggressive and will attack you relentlessly. Try focusing on one at a time.
Exploit Hollow Ichigo's slow speed and attack from up close so he can't attack
you. At the same time, keep Ichigo at a distance so he can't interrupt you.
==============
Mission 23
==============
Objective: Defeat Kisuke Urahara and Tsumugiya Ururu!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: guard disabled
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Forest of Dead Souls
Time to Get: 160
Notes: The lack of guard doesn't matter if you're going all out at them. Just
stay aggressive and don't let them get an attack off.
==============
Mission 24
==============
Objective: Defeat Soifon and Uryuu Ishida!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: one hit will kill your character
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: one hit will kill your opponent
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Ruins
Time to Get: 7
Notes: This is a tricky mission. One hit kills you, and one hit kills them. My
Advice: I used Aizen and did triangle, triangle. First hit killed Soifon,
second hit killed Ishida. I won the Mission in less than a second (literally,
the timer was still at 0 when I won)
==============
Mission 25
==============
Objective: Survive for 120 seconds!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: infinite life
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Soukyoku Execution Area
Time to Get: 120
Notes: First things first, you CANNOT damage your opponents in any way. You
only have to avoid their attacks and survive by Timeout. You will be pitted
against Rukia (who can bind you) Renji (who can get you with Higa Zekkou) and
Hinamori (who can pelt you with Tobiume.) Firstly, keep on jumping and moving!
This will avoid Rukia's attacks. Secondly, block when you see Higa Zekkou
since this will cause you damage. Thirdly, use the ledge below the execution
area. It will keep you safe for a few seconds. Try running around the area
to avoid them. Watch out for a Ring out, as every few seconds the wind will
grow strong and might throw you off the stage, causing you damage. Gin's air
Shunpo (jump + triangle) proved very useful.
==============
Mission 26
==============
Objective: Defeat Soifon and Kurosaki Ichigo! The last person standing must
be defeated by ring out!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Court of Pure Souls
Time to Get: 100
Notes: Use a character like Ikkaku, Aizen or Hollow Ichigo that can ring out
the last character easily. Just push them off the ledge with your attacks.

Mission 27
==============
Objective: Defeat Kon and Chad!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Attack Up
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Karakura High School
Time to Get: 150
Notes: Again, concentrate on Kon first and use him to exhaust the enemy's extra
life stock. Then go after Chad.
==============
Mission 28
==============
Objective: Defeat Sajin Komamura!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Defense down, life slowly regenerates
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Kurosaki Clinic
Time to Get: 80
Notes: This is tricky since Komamura regenerates life very fast. Do very high
damage attacks and try to do cinematic specials/put the enemy in a combo.
Komamura's not that fast so you can get him in an attack easy.
==============
Mission 29
==============
Objective: Defeat Sousuke Aizen and Momo Hinamori!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Yoruichi's Training Area
Time to Get: 160
Notes: Aizen will be quite troublesome and Hinamori will support well, but this
battle is pretty easy. Choose your best team and go after Hinamori first.
==============
Mission 30
==============
Objective: Defeat 100 Shinigami!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 4
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Gotei 13 Mansion (Interior)
Time to Get: About 500-510
Notes: This is a fun mission. I recommend Hollow Ichigo as he can kill multiple
targets fast. At the beginning there should be no trouble until Shinigami with
Kido abilities show up. At first, they can cast Byakurai (Projectile) which can
be easily avoided (and Hollow Ichigo's attacks disintegrate these projectiles
so it's easier.) Later on, Shinigami who can cast a fire based attack will
appear, not much of a problem. Finally, at around 80 killed, Shinigami who can
use Byakurai (beam) will appear, mixing with all the others. Be wary of them
and take them out first.
==============
Mission 31
==============
Objective: Defeat Momo Hinamori!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 3
Stage: Ruins
Time to Get: 210
Notes: You are severely disadvantaged lifewise, but if you know Hinamori's
attack pattern this will be easy. She will spam Tobiume quite a lot so watch
out for those projectiles. Use an anti-projectile user like Urahara.
==============
Mission 32
==============
Objective: Defeat Abarai Renji and Ikkaku Madarame while avoiding the pigs!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: cannot be thrown back
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Rukongai
Time to Get: 110
Notes: WATCH OUT FOR THE PIGS. There are tons of them (reaching around 6 at
one time.) Keep jumping! Usually your enemies will be killed by the pigs and
not by you.
==============
Mission 33
==============
Objective: Defeat Soifon and Yoruichi!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: Shunpo disabled
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none

Stage: Forest of Dead Souls
Time to Get: around 200?
Notes: Straightforward battle. Just anticipate their shunpos and attack.

Mission 34
==============
Objective: Defeat Kuchiki Byakuya with a Cinematic Special!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Infinite Reiatsu
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Gotei 13 Mansion (Interior)
Time to Get: 110
Notes: This battle will be hard. Byakuya will constantly try to get you into
a cinematic special, he will be shunpoing all over the place and he will always
have the ability to damage cancel. Once his life gets down to half he will
always go into Bankai. BUT! if you parry him you get a free combo. Don't go
around chasing him, let him come to you. Once his health goes down to around 10
percent, hit him with the special.
There is also an easier way to defeat him, use Hollow Ichigo. His tracking
attacks will hit Byakuya as he comes out of shunpo and will defeat him quite
easily.

last 2 battles or so.

Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: health slowly drains
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Kurosaki Clinic
Time to Get: 170
Notes: Try to keep your life ahead of Ururu's at all times to prevent you
from dying before she does.

Mission 37
==============
Objective: Defeat Kaname Tousen and Sajin Komamura!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Infinite Reiatsu
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Rukongai
Time to Get: 170
Notes: As much as possible, DO NOT LET KOMAMURA ACHIEVE BANKAI! He will be in
Bankai permanently until he is killed if he does so. Concentrate on Tousen
first and let him drain the life stock.
==============
Mission 38
==============
Objective: Defeat Zaraki Kenpachi!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Attack up, life regenerates slowly, cannot be
knocked back
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Gotei 13 Mansion (Interior)
Time to Get: 65
Notes: This is quite easy. Just pick your two best characters and attack
aggressively. Kenpachi may gain life but not as fast as in the other mission.
I finished Kenpachi in 24 seconds.
==============
Mission 39
==============
Objective: Defeat Kuchiki Byakuya and Abarai Renji!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Soukyoku Execution Area
Time to Get: 150
Notes: I think this is the mission where the wind that blows every so often
gets INSANELY STRONG. Try not to get ringed out as much as you can. Don't jump
too much as you may get caught by the wind.
==============
Mission 40
==============
Objective: Defeat Yasutora Chad, Ishida Uryuu and Inoue Orihime!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Karakura High School
Time to Get: 170
Notes: This is one of the two hardest missions (IMO) in the game. You will have
three opponents, make one mistake and you can be comboed to death (specially in
Captain Mode.) Chad will continually be using his Charged Triangle to break
your guard, Orihime will be sniping you from afar and will always try to get
you in a cinematic super (this happens quite often) and Ishida will be a pain
in the butt with his arrows. So, what to do?
I suggest going after Ishida first as he dies easily - this is easier said than
done. Keep the other two as far from you and Ishida as possible and isolate him
so that the other two will not interfere. DO NOT GET CORNERED TO A WALL! You
will certainly lose your life. Once the two of them are left try getting Chad
first; attacking Orihime now is too troublesome, and if Chad gets you in a
combo, Orihime may heal herself, nullifying your efforts. Good luck.
==============
Mission 41
==============
Objective: Defeat Aizen Sousuke!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Health slowly regenerates, Reiatsu fills up faster
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 1
Stage: Court of Pure Souls
Time to Get: 170
Notes: At first it seems like you are not hitting Aizen at all. He recovers
life very fast, so attack often and attack big. Don't let him activate Bankai
or he will regain almost half of his life until you hit him again.
==============
Mission 42
==============
Objective: Defeat Kisuke Urahara and Kurotsuchi Mayuri!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Infinite Reiatsu
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Yoruichi's Training Area
Time to Get: 170
Notes: As much as possible, DO NOT LET MAYURI ACHIEVE BANKAI! He will stay in
Bankai until he is killed. Concentrate on Urahara first, exhaust the enemy's
life stock, then kill Mayuri.
==============
Mission 43
==============
Objective: Defeat Kurosaki Ichigo with a cinematic special!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: Reiatsu Max at start, Reiatsu does not fill up
after it is used up
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 1
Stage: Kurosaki Clinic
Time to Get: around 150
Notes: Barring Items (which are not reliable) you cannot use any moves that
use Reiatsu or you will be unable to do the cinematic special later on. This
includes your Circle, Circle + Direction, Shunpos (for Shinigami Characters
except Mayuri and Rukia) and transformations. Just attack normally then use
the cinematic special when the opponent's life is low. If you miss, just retry
the mission over.
==============
Mission 44
==============
Objective: Defeat Hitsugaya Toushiro and Matsumoto Rangiku!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: Guard disabled
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Court of Pure Souls
Time to Get: 170
Notes: Pretty Straightforward. If they don't get to attack, you don't have
to guard, won't you?
==============
Mission 45
==============
Objective: Defeat 80 Hollows in 300 seconds!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 1
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Forest of Dead Souls
Time to Get: 210
Notes: Not too hard. Just use Hollow Ichigo and Renji. At the last batch of
hollows, Hollow Ichigo appears. Team up on him and defeat him fast.
==============
Mission 46
==============
Objective: Defeat Kuchiki Byakuya and Kuchiki Rukia!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: Jump Disabled
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 2
Opponent Extra Lives: 2
Stage: Soukyoku Execution Area
Time to Get: 150
Notes: Straightforward. Watch out for Rukia's traps, take her out first. Then
concentrate on Byakuya.
==============
Mission 47
==============
Objective: Defeat the enemies in this specific order: Kaname Tousen -->
Ichimaru Gin --> Aizen Sousuke!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 3
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stage: Ruins
Time to Get: 230
Notes: Welcome to the other hardest mission of the game (IMO.) Make one mistake
and you will be totally screwed. I've experienced being juggled in three
consecutive 15+ hit combos with one mistake. At least here you have one more
life to spend and a higher time limit. The catch is you have a specific order
with which to beat these guys. Tousen will spam his triangle, Gin will stay
from afar and hit you with Shinsou, and Aizen will use his triangle to
interfere and Kurohitsugi/Raikou while you are in the air.
Attack Tousen while he is doing his triangle. Exploit his vulnerable times
during attack. Once he's down (easier said than done, believe me) the remaining
two are much more manageable. Attack Gin as he's using his triangle - he will
go down easily as long as you keep Aizen away from you. Finally, defeat Aizen
by attacking him by exploiting his unsafe triangle, triangle attacks. Block,
then combo. Good luck.
==============
Mission 48
==============
Objective: Defeat Kon and Hollow Ichigo!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: Guard Disabled, Jump Disabled
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: Attack up, Life drains slowly, Reiatsu fills up faster
Player Extra Lives: 0
Opponent Extra Lives: 4
Stage: Karakura High School
Time to Get: 120
Notes: Focus on Kon first and use up the enemy's life stock. Once he's gone,
take care of Ichigo.
==============
Mission 49
==============
Objective: Defeat all 23 characters!
Single Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 4
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stages: Yoruichi's Training Area/Gotei 13 Mansion/Court of Pure Souls/Rukongai/
Forest of Dead Souls/Kurosaki Clinic/Soukyoku Execution Area/Ruins
Time to Get: around 1400-1450
Notes: You will be fighting these characters in batches of 2 or 3; after every
batch you will be healed of a small amount of life. You will be fighting them
in this order:
Orihime + Hinamori
Ishida + Ikkaku + Hollow Ichigo
Urahara + Yoruichi + Ururu
Chad + Renji + Rangiku
Rukia + Tousen + Kon
Soifon + Komamura + Mayuri
Byakuya + Hitsugaya + Gin
Ichigo + Kenpachi + Aizen
Within a batch, you may fight characters in a different order. For example, the
first time I played, I got Kenpachi first, then Aizen, then Ichigo. On the
second try I fought Aizen first, then Ichigo, then Kenpachi. Try conserving
your stock, with at least 2-3 extra lives at the halfway point. Good luck...
==============
Mission 50
==============
Objective: Survival: fight nine Tag Matches in a row!
Tag Battle
Player Buffs/Handicap: none
Opponent Buffs/Handicap: none
Player Extra Lives: 4
Opponent Extra Lives: 0
Stages: Karakura High School/Yoruichi's Training Area/Court of Pure Souls/
Forest of Dead Souls/Kurosaki Clinic/Rukongai/Sokyoku Execution Area/Ruins/
Gotei 13 Mansion
Time to Get: 750-780
Notes: You will be fighting teams of enemies in this order:
Matsumoto + Hinamori
Ikkaku + Gin
Yoruichi + Rukia
Soifon + Ururu
Komamura + Hitsugaya
Tousen + Mayuri
Kenpachi + Renji
Ichigo + Chad
Byakuya + Aizen
Try conserving your stock, with at least 2-3 extra lives at the halfway
point. Good luck...
Sword Hunting Missions are special missions where you fight in a one on one
battle. To win, you MUST beat that character with your cinematic special
(circle). Kill your opponent without doing so, or getting killed yourself
means game over.
Missions are available only if the characters involved have already been
unlocked. For example, you can only do the mission with Ishida vs. Kurotsuchi
ONLY if Kurotsuchi has been unlocked.
Winning a mission unlocks a myriad of special features. One notable feature
involves you being able to use the cinematic special of the character you just
defeated. To do so, once the sword hunting mission is completed, in the
character select screen select your character by using Triangle. A green sword
icon will appear next to your character's picture.
The following is a list of all sword hunting missions:
Ichigo vs. Byakuya
Rukia vs. Byakuya
Inoue vs. Chad
Chad vs. Inoue
Ishida vs. Kurotsuchi Mayuri
Yoruichi vs. Soifon
Urahara vs. Yoruichi
Ururu vs. Urahara
Byakuya vs. Ichigo
Renji vs. Rukia
Hitsugaya vs. Hinamori Momo
Matsumoto Rangiku vs. Madarame Ikkaku
Hinamori Momo vs. Hitsugaya

Sajin Komamura vs. Kaname Tousen
Kaname Tousen vs. Sajin Komamura
Ichimaru Gin vs. Renji

Before you begin the battle, at the stage select screen, pressing Triangle will
bring up an option to customize the conditions of the battle.

Training mode lets you play with a training dummy. Pressing start opens a menu:
- First option returns to the Game
- This determines what the training dummy does. Pressing left or right on the
d-pad changes this setting.
(Nothing (default) - Jump - simple combo - guard - throw - CPU control -
2P control)
- Controls the Life Bar for 1P (Full Life Bar - Red Life Bar 50%)
- Controls the Life Bar for 2P (Full Life Bar - Red Life Bar 50%)
- Controls the Reiatsu Bar for 1P (Normal - Infinite)
- Controls the Reiatsu Bar for 2P (Normal - Infinite)
- Movelist
- Special Attack Movelist
- Return to Character Select
- Return to Main Menu
If you set reiatsu to infinite, then return to the game, then go back to the
options menu and set it to normal again, you will have a full, exhaustible bar
of reiatsu to use.

- Something about the controller... left is yes, right is no
- Sound (Stereo - Monoaural)
- Save
- Load

Easy Level is easy. Combos are easy and the opponent puts up a decent fight,
but is not too hard. Captain level is harder; basic attacks almost always get
parried and the opponent puts constant pressure.
Stages are unlocked as you go through Story Mode. Once you've finished all
6 episodes you've unlocked all the stages.

Voice Figures are action figures of the characters that have voice samples
of the characters on them. You can view them at Urahara's shop, second option,
then first option. You can buy action figures at the item shop (first option.)
Their icons at the shop look are colored orange, with a thing on top of a box.
At first, the voice figures of the original five characters are available for
purchase. As you unlock more characters through mission mode, you will be able
to buy more voice figures.
Here's a list of the voice figures with the price:

As you start the game for the first time, in the main menu, you see Ichigo
talking to you, right? He's what you call an operator. You can change him
provided you've unlock the corresponding character. Change him in the options
menu, first option. Press left or right on the d-pad to change.
Initially, the first five characters are available at the options menu. Once
you unlock more characters, you will be able to buy their corresponding
operators at Urahara's item shop. Their icons are colored blue and look like
a megaphone.
Here's the price list for all the buyable operators:
These are basically images that you acquire after finishing the respective
episode in the Story Mode. They then become available in Urahara's shop, and
viewable at Urahara's shop (second option, then second option.) I think their
icon is colored green, but I'm not sure. Anyway, here they are:
Tatakai no Atode (After the Battle): Shows Chad, Ichigo and Orihime with
Ishida. Ishida is being healed by Orihime's powers. Unlocked by finishing
chapter 1.
Price: 500
Kanchigai no Sueni (A Last Misunderstanding): Shows Renji being chased by
Ichigo, Madarame and Ishida. Unlocked by finishing chapter 2.

everyone else. Unlocked by finishing chapter 3.

streets of Karakura. Awwwww. Unlocked by finishing chapter 4.

Secret Movies (Kon Kick!)
------------------------------
These movies are unlocked for purchase by finishing the respective mission of
that character in Sword Hunting Mode. They are movies that show different
characters performing Kon's cinematic super. Some of them are quite hilarious.
Their icon in Urahara's shop is colored white and looks like a video camera.

These are unlocked by accomplihing stuff in mission mode, like getting S ranks
in missions. The more S ranks you get, the more secret figures you unlock. They
will then be available for purchase at Urahara's shop. Their icon is also
orange colored like the voice figures.

Ire of the Ice Dragon 40 S ranks 8500
Inochi wo kakete 50 S ranks (all) 9500
To get a score of 100, all of the missions must be A rank or better - easily
achievable by playing in Normal Mode.
as for what the figures look like, Kakatte koi yo! depicts Zaraki vs. Tousen
and Komamura. Tamashii no hoero depicts the Renji - Byakuya battle, Ire of the
Ice Dragon (rough translation) shows Hitsugaya's Bankai vs. Aizen, and finally
Inochi wo kakete shows the battle between Ichigo and Byakuya.
