1. INTRODUCTION
===============
I decided to write this FAQ after taking on the Quest to explore the whole map
of the Alterworlds. I visited everywhere and the party had their little
summary chat as they entered each world, but since I never like going to Ishtar
I had left that to last, only to find that there was still one room of that
Alterworld that I had not explored. I tried a few of the portals and ran out
of time before I found it, and the thought of traipsing around and around that
place was so dispiriting that the only way to face it was to make a guide. I
hope that anyone else who has had trouble navigating this place might find
this of some help.
This guide to navigating Ishtar starts with a summary of all the quests listed
according to the type and rank required. Then there is an overview map showing
all the teleporters and how the different areas connect. Finally there is a
more detailed map of each Terrace in turn and a description of the different
quests in more detail as related to each location.

2. FINDING THE GARDENS OF ISHTAR
================================
You will first gain access to the Gardens of Ishtar in Chapter 4.
From the Workshop in the Western Residence of Zey Meruze take the boat to the
Guild Entrance and walk left down the steps. Just past the barrel on your
right is a green rowing boat. Jump onto this boat and then to the large rock
in front of you and then left to the pink boat, and finally enter the turquoise
door into the Empty Room. Go forwards to the swirling opening and select Yes,
when you have the option to "Enter the Grand Gardens of Ishtar."
In the game the Gardens are mapped to different screens and the teleporters are
marked, but the connections between them are not. This overview shows the
whole area, and indentifies the connections between the different teleporters.
All numbers refer to different connecting teleporters. Teleporters work both
ways, and will only go to and from the locations shown. You can walk between
the rooms where there is a connecting line. The Lithographs can be set to the
future or the past and they will change the places where there is a rock or
tree that blocks access.

a.) Entrance
Walk down the slope and follow the path to the next area. Here you climb down
some vines and then walk along a wide pipe (or sword handle) to the first
teleporter in the Sky Gardens Entrance room.
b.) Three Teleporters Room
You arrive at the large room with three teleporters, and although from the in
game map they appear to be next to each other, in fact they are not. They are
at different heights and you will arrive at a higher level and then climb down
some vines, or fall (you cannot be hurt) down to the floor below. There is a
large red enemy here and after a few visits you will get used to fighting this
one, as it is hard to miss.
c.) Teleport to the Woofer Village
From here the path goes around to the left or up to the right. The right path
leads to a Woofer standing beside another teleporter and he will tell you that
the Woofer Village is up ahead. This teleporter takes you to the centre of the
Woofer village at the Second Level Terrace North.
d.) Teleport to the Secret Path.
When you stand on the teleporter to the Woofer Village, prior to using it, you
can see another teleporter above you, but you cannot jump up to it from here.
Instead from the platform walk down and go left and up a path which will be
blocked if you arrive at the wrong time. There is a very slowly moving sword
hilt in the middle of the path and a Woofer will tell you that it's easy to get
lost! Once you can get past the sword continue heading to the right, and you
will arrive at the higher teleporter. This goes to the 1st level Terrace top
left room. There are ice blocks here so you need the Flame Barret tool if you
are to proceed.
Continue going down through these rooms and eventually you will get to the
last room where you must use the flamethrower to remove ice blocks. This
takes you to the 3rd Level Terrace Secret Path. (The flamethrower is obtained
during a mission in chapter 5 and you can't miss this.)
e.) The Lithograph and the Rock
After walking down to the second room, from the top left teleporter, you will
find another lithograph. There will be a crossroads and if you go right there
is a Woofer standing in front of a rock. If the Lithograph is set to the
future he says he can go back home, and you can go up and follow the path where
the rock was blocking it, and you will arrive back at the place where the Sword
might be blocking the path. You can jump down to the path, but you cannot get
back this way.
f.) Magical Pot
The Aladdin Pot monster is found in the room where the Rock must be made to
disappear using the Lithograph, and when it has gone you can walk further to
the right in this large area and you will find the Aladdin Pot.
=============================
6. SECOND LEVEL TERRACE NORTH
=============================
This is where things start to get complicated as there are a total of 8
teleporters on this terrace, and some of the rooms are not connected with
paths, so the only way to reach them is to find the correct portal. Although
both north and south areas of the terrace appear on the same page of the in
game map, they are, in fact, not connected directly.

a.) Woofer Village: Chief's Hut and Shop
From the portal, which is in the centre of the village the chief's hut is found
by walking up the path to the right..It is in a room by itself. The shop is
found where a Woofer stands to the left of the teleporter, and almost hidden
by the vines.
b.) Lithograph
Walk to the right of the the arrival teleporter and the path divides. If
you go left and follow the short path heading down the screen, you can find
the Lithograph at a dead end. This is where you can change the Lithograph
from red to blue or grey.
c.) Garden
Head right past a Woofer, and over a small wooden bridge and this will take
you to the next room on the map. Here there will be a garden if you change the
Lithograph to the future. You will also be able to continue to the other rooms
to the right. You can plant and harvest Mysterious Seeds in the garden.
d.) Teleporter that requires the Hammer
There is another teleporter high up in Woofer Village which takes you to the
3rd Level Terrace. Climb the vines from the village and then again up a second
shorter set of vines to the other teleporter. You need the Hammer to break the
barrier in front of this teleporter, and it takes you to the 3rd Level Terrace.
e.) Third Teleporter (to 2nd Level Tarrace South)
Climb up the first set of vines and then head up the large metal pipe in front
of the Woofer to the next room. Turn down the metal pipes and then go around
and up a series of round metal platforms to reach this teleporter, which
takes you to the 2nd Level Terrace South. This is the teleporter you need to
use for the Clock Quest.
f.) Fishing
Continue all the way heading right and then down and right again to find the
fishing spot and another Lithograph.
g.) Teleporter to Sound Hill
The room at the furthest south of this terrace leads to a teleporter to Sound
Hill which is just one room on the third terrace. This is where you can
defeat the boss to gain Nell's Siren Blades.

a.) Gregor
You need the flamethrower to progress to the northern area and teleporter 6
from the first teleporter 5, and here you will find another teleporter and
Gregor, for whom you can undertake a number of different quests. He is always
standing in the same place and you must visit him twice for each quest: once to
receive it and a second time to give him the item you have made for him.
b.) Getting to the right hand teleporters
The second teleporter 6, which is next to where Gregor stands, leads to the
right hand rooms of this terrace, and thence to another teleporter when you
walk up to the northern room.
c.) Triple Teleporter: route to Clock.
Although this is shown as one teleporter on the map (7) and on the in game map,
there are in fact three teleporters, one after another. You enter one and
emerge at a new room, but it is still shown as the same room location on the
map. There is another teleporter just above and this then leads to the third
one, which in turn takes you to the 3rd Level Terrace where there are two more
teleporters. Keep going and you will arrive at the Clock.
d.) Finding the Kids and Gramps
The room marked K is where they can be found. Climb the first vine from the
Woofer Village and then take the teleporter from the 2nd Level Terrace to
arrive at 5. You have to walk up until you reach a large flat metal platform
with two red enemies, and then go left and down from there.
======================
8. THIRD LEVEL TERRACE
======================
Some of these rooms are not connected to each other, and can only be reached
from other terraces.
a.) Sound Hill
You can only reach this small room from the 2nd Level Terrace North. Here you
can fight a boss and be rewarded with the Siren Blade for Nell.
b.) Sword Hill
You reach this area by entering the highest teleporter from the Woofer Village
(9) at the Second Level Terrace North. You can only get access to this portal
after you have received the Hammer tool. Then head to the east and you will
pass by a long wall. You have to head through a gap in the wall that edges
the path, to reach Shadow Stalker and other boss enemies at Sword Hill.
Defeat Shadow Stalker to be rewarded with the Lupus Blade for Edge. Hell's
Fran Pfeil is also found at Sword Hill just before you get to Shadow Stalker
if he has not already been defeated.
c.) K33p3r
Arriving from the Second Level South triple set of teleporters (7) you meet
K33pr3, and enter the portal next to him (8) to reach the Clock of Foreign
Time
d.) Alvero and The Lost Raiders
Alvero, the Mission boss at the end of chapter 6 is found here (12). The Lost
Raiders can be found in the room before reaching Shadow Stalker, the optional
boss.
e.) Tree and Diamond Dust
To reach the treasure chest with the Diamond Dust recipe you must get past
the tree, (set the Lithograph to the future: Red) and then continue to the
room at the far right. Finally jump across various blocks of stone in that
room.
f.) Fishing for King Tuna
The pond will only appear if the Lithograph is set to the past (Blue) and for
any other setting the fish icon will not appear on your game map. You can use
the Lithograph at the Woofer village before going through the portal.
g.) Secret Path: Mapping all Alterworlds
The teleporter here (4) connects to the one at the ned of a long series of
rooms in the First Level Terrace. There is a Lithograph here and if you
continue on and you will find a small hut with a door which will take you
through to the room beyond called Mine Ruins. Change the Lithograph to the
past, (Blue) and rocks will appear in the Mines, which you can break for ore.
To get to this final room involves a long journey and this may be the one room
that is missing in order to complete the mapping all Aterworlds quest.

This was just intended to be some diagrams but it grew a bit from there, so if
I have missed out any quests or if the directions could be made clearer then
please let me know and I'll do my best to make any improvements. I have
updated it now, and expanded on some things: hope this is better!
