º  The Need For FAQ  º
ÓÄÄ           ú--ÄÄÄ-½

  ø What's For ? ø
You just thought that this is just a simple and ordinary soccer game
and a guide like this is only wasting time ?  Then you're completely
wrong! Action soccer game is totally different from football manager
game, which if you've chose a best team, then you're about to grab the
Number One trophy. Action soccer game is where you should manage your
team formation very well and careful, deploy proper players, and move
your players around by YOURSELF to get some goals.
This FAQ will help you play this game better by revealing each team's
valuable information and evaluation, along with the general strategies,
complete info about inside-game, formation and strategy evaluation, and
other cool stuff that you should read before continue playing this great
game! After all.. no further words, just play it!

  ø Help Needed! ø
If you have any must-have submissions such as new ideas, comments,
cool strategies, other valuable team information, FAQ revision, or some
thank-you words, miscelannous info and everything related to WE3 then
feel free to drop me an e-mail at [email protected]
I wish that somebody could make a complete list of players in each
team along with their information (skill and foot). This would help me
so much to evaluate each team accurately.
If you're able to give me more detailed info on every aspect of the
game, then mail me, or maybe you have any team evaluation, formation
and strategies, please let me know!
I will try to keep this FAQ updated, and *surely* it helps me out a
lot if I can get a lot of hands to help this FAQ frequently updated!

º  Playing Your Game  º
ÓÄÄ            ú--ÄÄÄ-½

 ø Starting New Game ø
After finished loading, you'll see seven different options to choose
from. Luckily, it's an English, so you don't have to guess and guess
just like what we did in the J-League Winning Eleven year ago. Okay,
the startup menu to choose are:

    Exhibition Mode
Where you'll only play a friendship game, here you'll able to play
alone against the computer, or co-operate with friends/computer to
play against the computer. You will also able to set up the ingame
environment by selecting the Weather Condition, Difficulty Level,
Match Time, Home/Away system, and Stadium. This is a good choice for
beginners to get himself familiar with the game.

    League Mode
Where you'll compete against 15 international teams. You'll have a
chance to select whether you'll play a half competition (15 times) or
a full competition (Home-Away system, 30 times). This game will also
     featuring the league-table, top-scorers, and line-graphic evaluation
for all participating team. This is a good choice for those who like
     a long competition.

    Cup Mode
Where you'll compete in a real World Cup 1998, selfmade tournament,
or zonal tournament. The option is Japanese, so here's the option:
World Cup 1998     You'll play in a world-cup, and can only choose
                          among the 32 qualified team.
Free Tournament    You'll play in a selfmade tournament. You can
decide how many team will participate! The game
offers 3-16 participant from all zone.
Europe Zone        You'll play against the European team
Africa Zone        You'll play against the African team
N/C America Zone   You'll play against the North/Central American
team along with the Caribbean team
South America Zone You'll play against the South American team
Asia/Oceania Zone  You'll play against Asian and Oceanian team
This mode is shorter than the league mode. A good option for those
who hates playing a too-long type of competition.

    All Star Match
Where you're about to take the most precious challenge in football
You'll play whether for the Europe side (Italy,France,Germany, etc.)
or for the Rest of the World side (Brazil,Argentina,Nigeria, etc.)

    P.K Mode (Penalty Kick Challenge)
Where you'll challenged to a penalty kick shoot-out. Choose from
all 40 available teams. Play against friend, CPU, or co-operate with
     CPU against CPU.

    Training Mode
Where you'll try to be familiar with the game, the whole game, and
all its environemnt, getting used to the controller function, and of
course, practicing your shooting, passing, dribbling, ball control,
and anything. Inside, you're able to choose from 3 option:
Free Training         Running around, kicking and dribbling, do
                             everything as you like
Free Kick Training    Place the ball in the desired position to
practice free kick, volley kick, and heading
Corner Kick Training  The ball placed in the corner area to prac-
tice corner kick along with the volley kick
                             and heading
This is a good choice for beginners/newbies, actually.

    Game Options
Where you'll able to set everything up!
         Memory Card
You can manage your saved data here whether you want to edit
           a saved file's configuration (difficulty level,time match,etc)
           or erase it.
         Name Edit
You can change every player's name of every team here. To
toggle between Japanese alphabet and Latin alphabet, simply
press O in the lower-right of the name-editing column (the
yellow Japanese character). You can edit a player's name up
           to eight character.
         Controller Configuration
You can change the controller's configuration, but for me,
the default configuration is more than enough for your comfor-
table. Unless you're already familiar with EA's World Cup 98,
then configure everything here. The description is in Japan,
so it maybe better if you refer to the 'Controller Function'
first for a clear explanation on each control button.
         Sound Configuration
Here you'll find several options regarding the configuration
of the game's sound. You may turn on/off the sound effect,
music, and commentary. You can also turn on/off the real con-
dition sound (supporter's screaming and yelling, drum sound,
etc.). Choose between Stereo and Mono in Audio system and
select the commentary's language whether in Japanese, English,
           French, Italian, Spanish, and German.
         Screen Alignment
You can aligned the game screen here.
         Wide-screen TV Set-up
Choose to turn on or off the wide-screen TV support here.

 ø Controller Function ø
I will try to describe the function of each button on PSX controller
Each button has a difference functions depending whether you're inside
game attacking, defending, throw-in, or you're in the menu-selection.
I've put a notation on each button to make it easier to explain the
'Winning Strategy' section below. For example, Square is [], Triangle
  is T, and so on.
Please noticed the energy bar while shooting or long-passing while
you're inside the game. It's determined the shot height and power. Any
body could give a better explanation on this ? I found out that if you
shoot with a max-energy while near the goalie, you'll skies the ball
but if you shoot it in a 10-15 metres with a max-energy, you'll get a
supershot. Calculate it yourself, and you'll know when and how to use
  the energy-bar control.

º  Guide To Newbies  º
ÓÄÄ           ú--ÄÄÄ-½

This game is quite easy to understand, in my opinion, but yeah..
it's hard to mastered it easily, especially if you're on the Very Hard
level. But after all, let's stop bulling some shit around, I'll give
you a short explanation on how to learn the basic and strategy.

 ø Learning The Basic ø
After reading and understanding each button functions, then it's time
the right time to try some playing. Go to Training Mode first to get
yourself used to the game. You're now in Free Training, just dribble
around to be familiar with the game speed, player's movement, and so on.
Passing around, lob the ball, try the one-two pass, through pass, try
to volley the lobbed ball, heading, and please noticed that this game
also offers a one-touch pass. Try this by passing to your friend and
quickly tap 'X' for the one-touch pass.
You may also try the free kick from the desired-position and corner
kick, by press 'Start' and choose the second option, and choose the
second option again for free kick training and the bottom option for
  corner kick training.

 ø Team Management ø
You may bring up the team-management menu during playing. Pressing
Start will activate the menu. Inside the team-management is where you
can manage all things for your team. You may highlight each player's
name and press O to subs it with another player.
Each player's condition is referred to a funny symbol beside their
name. Its color explained their current condition. Gray means they're
really exhausted and in a very-low morale, blue means they are tired
and below-average stamina, yellow means they are in a good condition,
orange means they're completely refreshed and high morale, and the
reddish orange means they're 100% fit and in their maximum capacity.
Each team contains 11 starting players and 7 bench players which
can be subs in anytime during the game, but limit to 3 players subs
each game. Noticed their position so you won't misplace them!
FW is a forward player/striker, they'll handle the attacking
MF is a midfield player, they'll distribute the ball to the Forward
DF is a defensive player, they'll take care all things behind
GK is a goalkeeper, he'll try to keep your goal safe
Every player has his own characteristic and ability. You're able
to view a player's information by highlighting his name.
Stamina - the higher this point, the slower he'll get tired
Speed   - determined the pace and acceleration of a player
Kick    - determined player's shooting accuracy and power
Pass    - determined player's passing accuracy
Curve   - determined player's agility to turn
Jump    - ability to heading and avoid slide-tackling
You may also want to consider the player's Left Foot or Right Foot in
order to placed them in your formation. Player's with Left Foot should
be very good to shoot to the right, while the right should be ace to
  shoot to the left corner.
To select a formation, scroll through the available formation by
pressing R1 or L1. For further explanation on formation, please re-
fer to 'Formation Evaluation' section below. You're able to switch
between Line formation and Sweeper/Libero formation. Press [] to do
this! Line formation is a straight line of defenders while Sweeper
or Libero formation placed a last defender behind.
To select strategies to be activated by L2/R2, press Select and
a menu will be brought up. Scroll through 8 different strategies,
and press L2 or R2 to select. For further information on strategy,
please refer to 'Strategy Explanation' section below.
After setting up what you want for your team, then press Start or
X to return to the menu and start playing!

 ø Practicing ø
If you think you're ready for the real game, then quit the Training
Mode and select Exhibition Mode first. Whether you want to choose the
time period, stadium, or weather condition, it's not a problem, cause
actually, what you really want to do here, is practicing your playing
After selecting the desired team and CPU's team, you're inside the
game! (finally :). Try to practice what you did in the training mode.
Passing around, find a hole and do the through pass, or lob a ball
  for a heading-goal.
Since this is your first time, try Level 1 first since it's the
easiest one. If you're able to defeat the opponent with a wide-score
range (6-0 is okay), then try to move to Level 2. This is still easy,
I guess you could make it quickly. Then try the Level 3, this is a
normal mode. Opponent is slightly harder than at Level 2, if you're
having trouble to score, please read the 'Winning Strategy' section
below for some fun tips and tricks. Level 4 and 5 is for professional
players where you should use the real strategy and formation to beat
the opponent, they're really tough I must said! Don't bother trying
this level if you're still beginners though :)

º  Formation Evaluation  º
ÓÄÄ               ú--ÄÄÄ-½

Formation is no doubt is a vital strategy for a team to success
beating his opponent. Using a good formation, as well as strategy,

goals. Here, I'll try to explain each formation briefly, along with
  its advantage and disadvantage.

º  Strategy Explanation  º
ÓÄÄ               ú--ÄÄÄ-½

You could change your strategy anytime during playing, by activating
the team-management menu and press 'Select'. This game provides eight
different strategy, and I'll try to explained each briefly to you.

Normal               This strategy will do a normal playing. Attacking
and defending as usual, from left, central, and
right side. Or in other words, this is a common
                       strategy for football team.
Centre Attack        This strategy will focused on central attack.
Your midfielder will control the central area and
do a short-pass to the front.
Right Side Attack    This strategy will focused on right wing attack.
Your midfielder will run up from the right side,
and try to attempt a long ball passing to the
                       centre.
Left Side Attack     This strategy is similar to Right Side Attack, but
                       it's from the left wing/side.
CB Overlap           This strategy is a sudden-attacking system. Your
centre back will sprint toward and catched off
guard to received a pass for a goal. This strategy
is quite dangerous, since if the opponent have a
chance to do a counter attack, you have lost a
                       defender on the back.
Zone Press           This strategy will make your 2 or 3 defenders
                       double-teamed and intercept opponent's forward.
This strategy is quite effective if your opponent
has a high speed player and a very good individual
                       technique.
Counter Attack       This strategy will try to intercept the opponent's
attack, and quickly attempt a longpass or through
pass toward since almost all opponent's defenders
are supporting the attack. This strategy will only
effective if your opponent using a total offensive
                       formation or attacking formation/strategy.
Offside Trap         This strategy will traps your opponent offside by
moving all defenders slightly to the front while
opponent do a longball pass or through pass. This
strategy is extremely dangerous, especially for
team with low technique, cause if your opponent's
succesfully catched off guard, it's almost 80%
                       goal.

  ð AUSTRIA
    Formation: 3-5-2A Line
Strategy : Normal and Left Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Speed     þþþþþ-----   Low
    Technique þþþþþþ----   Average
    Offense   þþþþþþ----   Average
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Austria is an average-skill team. They're not good in
offense, defense, and technique, but they do have a good
goalkeeper. It's rather easy to match their playing with
any strategy, as long as you keep an eye on their mid-
fielder supplying ball to their striker.

  ð BELGIUM
    Formation: 4-4-2C
Strategy : Normal and Counter Attack

    Power     þþþþþþ----   Average

    Technique þþþþþþþ---   Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Belgium is a good offensive team but unfortunately lack
of defense. They normally attack using counter attack
and normal offense. Through pass still works as well as
                long-ball and short-passing for them.

  ð BULGARIA
    Formation: 4-4-2B Line
Strategy : Normal and Right Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþ---   Good

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþ---   Good

Evaluation: Bulgaria is averagely good. They have a good pace and
technique players. They normally attack from the middle
and supply the ball to the front either from centre or
right side. Through pass works good for them.

  ð CROATIA
    Formation: 3-5-2B Line
Strategy : Normal and Left Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Speed     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Technique þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Defense   þþþþþþþ---   Good

Evaluation: Croatia is one of the best attacking team in Europe.
They also have a solid midfielder with a high speed and
powerful shot. Focusing on the midfield either left or
                central, they're extremely dangerous.
As usual, make a through pass and get some goals.

  ð DENMARK
    Formation: 4-4-2C Sweeper
Strategy : Normal and Left Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Speed     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþ---   Good

Evaluation: Denmark is averagely good in everything. They normally
attack from the left side, either attempt a short-pass
or a long-pass. Using through-pass is not a good idea
as they have a last defender to sweep the ball away.
Try to concentrate on wing attack to provide a great
chance for your forward to do a heading-goal.

  ð ENGLAND
    Formation: 3-5-2B Line
Strategy : Right Side Attack and Counter Attack

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Defense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

Evaluation: England is an excellent offensive team. They're focusing
their attack using high-and-long passing, since they do
have a solid midfielder and good defenders.
Using Offside Trap might be work for them as well as you
are able to do some passing and through pass.

  ð FRANCE
    Formation: 4-4-2A Line
Strategy : Normal and Right Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

    Technique þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent

Evaluation: France's players are unbeatable in acceleration and
defense. They're also have a good passer midfielder.
Beware of their right wing attack as their attacker
is extremely fast even not that sharp.
Using Counter Attack with normal formation should do
                something to them.

  ð GERMANY
    Formation: 3-5-2B Line
Strategy : Normal and Counter Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

    Technique þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Offense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent

Evaluation: Germany has an excellent technique and defense. They've
high speed players and good midfielder, they're usually
concentrate on central midfield to control and distribute
ball to the front. Watch out for lob-passing, they have a
                good heading-skill striker!

  ð GREECE
    Formation: 4-4-2A Line
Strategy : Normal and Counter Attack

    Power     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Speed     þþþþ------   Very Low
    Technique þþþþþ-----   Low
    Offense   þþþþþþ----   Average
    Defense   þþþþ------   Very Low

Evaluation: Greece has the worst rating among all European team. They
are really slow, lack of defense, and bad technique. Any
strategies, especially sprinting will defeat their defen-
der. Just keep an eye on their counter-attack, you will
                surely beat them.

  ð HOLLAND/NETHERLAND
    Formation: 4-4-2C Line
Strategy : Normal and Counter Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Speed     þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good

Evaluation: Holland is no doubt a very tough team. They have a solid
offense and defense along with a very good pace players.
Using normal attack, they also placed a support striker
to provide good chances for their frontman.
Zone Press might be work as well as the old-fashioned
                through pass :)

  ð IRELAND
    Formation: 4-4-2A
Strategy : Normal and Counter Attack

    Power     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Speed     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Technique þþþþþþ----   Average
    Offense   þþþþþþ----   Average
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Ireland is an average-skill team, slightly better than
Greece. They don't have a good offense and defense. Not
much to say, through pass is works best for them.

  ð ITALY
    Formation: 4-4-2A Line
Strategy : Normal and Right Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Speed     þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Technique þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good

Evaluation: Italy is one of the best teams in the world with a high
high technique, extremely fast, and have an excellent
defense system. Focusing on right side attack as well as
central attack, your defender should be really aware to
prevent a goal. Try to use Counter Attack and through
pass to beat them (but, not that easy!).

  ð NORTH IRELAND
    Formation: 4-5-1A Sweeper
Strategy : Normal and Counter Attack

    Power     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Speed     þþþþþ-----   Low
    Technique þþþþþþ----   Average
    Offense   þþþþþþ----   Average
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: North Ireland is just the same as Ireland but slightly
slower. They rather take defense position and depend on
a counter attack. Again, thru pass works best for them.

  ð NORWAY
    Formation: 4-4-2C Line

Evaluation: Norway is good in attacking as they have both high speed
and technique players. Unfortunately, they seem to have
a lack defense system, making you easier to get goals.
Their attack similar to Holland's, so try using the same
strategy, but this should be a lot easier since they're
                defense is not very good.

Evaluation: Portugal is an impressive team with a high defense rating
strong shooting, good speed and technique providing them
a best offense. Normally attack from the middle or left,
they're quite dangerous. Using wing attack with a long
passing is a good idea to match them.

  ð ROMANIA

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþ---   Good

Evaluation: Romania has high speed players and their offense is
very good. Usually attacked from right wing, giving
their striker a good chance for a heading goal.
Try to pass around, and look for a chance to do a
through pass, your forward should be to get a goal.

    Offense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good

Evaluation: Scotland is good in defense and offense, and average in
power, speed, and technique. Almost any strategy will
works best for them, just watch their wing attack or
                counter attack.

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent

Evaluation: Spain is extremely very hard to beat. Not only have a
good defender, they also have a great winger which is
fast and accurately passing the ball to their striker.
Zone Press is good to anticipate their attack.

    Offense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Sweden has a good offense and technique, as well as good
pace. They usually wait for your attack and try to steal
the ball for a counter attack as their striker is ready
to do some sprint to catch it.
Luckily, their defense is not good, you should be able to
                try a through-pass or wing-attack.

    Defense   þþþþþ-----   Low

Evaluation: Turkey is rather good in offense while worse in defense.
They have a quite slow player and average technique. You
should be able to beat them using an offensive formation
along with the through pass and long ball strategy.

    Defense   þþþþþ-----   Low

Evaluation: Wales is quite good in technique and offense but lack of
defense. They have several good midfielder to support a
ball for their striker. Unfortunately, Wales' forwards
doesn't have a strong shoot and rather slow. You could
match them with an attacking formation and thru-pass.

  ð YUGOSLAVIA
    Formation: 4-5-1A Sweeper

    Power     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

    Technique þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

Evaluation: Yugoslavia has an excellent technique. They're usually
used a defensive formation with only placing one front
man and a support striker. They also prepared a sweeper
for the last man behind. Through pass is ineffective IMHO
Instead of using short pass, try long-ball or direct shot

 ø AFRICA ZONE ø

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Cameroon is the only African that can match Nigeria, only
lack of defense. High speed players with an excellent
technique making them very dangerous while attacking. Be-
ware their counter attack and accurate passing as their
striker is also has a strong shot and fast! No other way
than thru-pass and long-ball to match their playing.

  ð MOROCCO
    Formation: 4-4-2A Line

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good

Evaluation:  Morocco is one of the excellent African team with a high
offense, pace, defense, and individual skill. They only
don't have a strong shoot, but their forward extremely
dangerous while in the front. Try using through pass or
                 long ball for them.

  ð NIGERIA

Strategy : Normal and Right Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good

    Technique þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Defense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

Evaluation: Nigeria is the best African team, and even beat the other
European and American team. They have an excellent speed,
high-rating technique and defense. With a solid offense,
they're normally attacking from the middle or right side.
Seems thru-pass is still the best to play with.

  ð SOUTH AFRICA

    Power     þþþþþþþ---   Good
    Speed     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Technique þþþþþþþ---   Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþ---   Good

Evaluation: South Africa is good in everything. Normally attack from
the central side, with a solid midfielder, they provide
their striker a good chance to get goal. Try long ball
passing and thru-pass to match them.

  ð TUNISIA

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþ-----   Low

Evaluation: Tunisia seemed to have a very good technique and offense,
but too bad they don't know how to handle the behind.
Long ball passing or short-pass do them apart. Watch out
for their counter attack as they have a speedy striker to
                kick your goalie out.

    Technique þþþþ------   Very Low
    Offense   þþþþþ-----   Low
    Defense   þþþþþ-----   Low

Evaluation: Jamaica is the worst team in this zone. Very low in tech
and lack of offense and defense.Any strategies works best
                for them.

  ð MEXICO
    Formation: 4-4-2A Line

    Technique þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Mexico is extremely good in offensive in this zone. With
a high speed player and really dangerous if catched off-
guard. Luckily they don't have a good defense making it
easier to do a pass for a goal.

  ð UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
    Formation: 4-4-2A Line

    Power     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Speed     þþþþþ-----   Low
    Technique þþþþþþ----   Average
    Offense   þþþþþþ----   Average
    Defense   þþþþþþþ---   Good

Evaluation: U.S is not good in football :) They're slow and slightly
better than Jamaica. They don't have a good striker as
well as good midfielder. It's not a big problem to beat
them. Use any strategies is work, but still.. thru-pass
                is the best!

    Technique þþþþþþþþþþ   Excellent
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good

Evaluation: Argentina is the best team in the zone after Brazil. They
have a great technique, balanced offense and defense, and
also have a speedy players. They're hard to beat with a
long ball passing since Offside Trap's able to anticipate
it and also individual running since Zone Press will do
it apart. Try through pass and wing attack for them.

  ð BRAZIL

Evaluation: Brazil is no doubt the excellent team in the game. They
have an excellent players' with an impressive speed, indi
vidual skill, and outstanding offense as well as defense.
Using attacking formation, they're really something while
in the front.Try tackling the ball away or pressing using
                Zone Press strategy.

    Speed     þþþþþ-----   Low
    Technique þþþþþþþ---   Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþ-----   Low

Evaluation: Chile is a good offensive team, but really bad in defense
They're also rather slow and average-rating of technique.
Any strategies may beat them, just watch their midfielder
pass a good ball from the central area.

  ð COLOMBIA
    Formation: 4-4-2D Line
Strategy : Normal and Right Side Attack

    Power     þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

    Technique þþþþþþþ---   Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþþ-   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþ---   Good

Evaluation: Colombia is tremendous in offense and quite good for the
defense. They usually attack from the right side using
long ball passing. Offside Trap might be work well, as
                well as thru-pass while attacking.

  ð PARAGUAY
    Formation: 3-5-2B Line

    Technique þþþþþþþ---   Good
    Offense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good

Evaluation: Paraguay is very similar to Colombia, just that they do
have an excellent goalie. It might be tough to beat them
easily since they also have a good defense. Try long ball
passing to beat their midfielder as well as thru-pass as
                usual.

    Speed     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Technique þþþþþ-----   Low
    Offense   þþþþþ-----   Low
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Australia is an adequated-skill team. They seemed to
depend on the counter attack for offense. With a support
striker in the front, they might be dangerous if you let
them do a through pass. Long ball should be works here!

    Technique þþþþþþ----   Average
    Offense   þþþþþþþþ--   Very Good
    Defense   þþþþ------   Very Low

Evaluation: Iran is the best offensive team in this zone. Focusing
on the midfield to support the attack, they do have a
great offense with an average technique. Luckily, they're
also bad in defense, so it won't be a big problem to take
them out. Through-pass still the best! :)

  ð JAPAN

    Speed     þþþþþ-----   Low
    Technique þþþþþþ----   Average
    Offense   þþþþþ-----   Low
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Japan is a slow and weak team. They only have adequate
technique, low offense, and average defense making them
easy to beat, especially if you're using European or
American team with a high-rating of speed and offense.
Use any strategy for them, but thru-pass should works!

  ð KOREA

    Speed     þþþþþþ----   Average
    Technique þþþþþ-----   Low
    Offense   þþþþþþ----   Average
    Defense   þþþþþ-----   Low

Evaluation: Korea isn't more than Japan, they're only slightly faster
and stronger, but lack of defense and technique. Using
any strategies will work for them.

  ð SAUDI ARABIA
    Formation: 3-5-2A Line

    Speed     þþþþþþþ---   Good
    Technique þþþþþ-----   Low
    Offense   þþþþ------   Very Low
    Defense   þþþþþþ----   Average

Evaluation: Saudi Arabia is the fastest team in this zone, but unfor-
tunately, they're really worst in defense and power.
Long ball and through pass are a great choice to match
                their playing.

º  Winning Strategy  º
ÓÄÄ           ú--ÄÄÄ-½

 ø General Strategies ø
  - Check your starting eleven, if possible, named all refreshed players
first, except if there's one or two vital players that you think can
not be benched. This is to keep your team in their best form.
  - Study your players' skill and characteristic, and choose which is the
best formation and strategy for your team. For example, if you have
some high speed and passing players, try to use 3-5-2B with central
    attack strategy, etc.
  - Player's with left foot is more likely to perform better if placed on
    the left side, vice versa.
  - When attacking, take a look once or two at the radar to track your
players' position and your opponent's, so you'll be able to do an
accurate pass or good running without get tackled away.
  - When your opponent's dribbling the ball, try to challenge him with a
block tackle by pressing 'X' rapidly. By doing this, your players
will chase him and try to take away the ball. If your player brought
your opponent down, the referee won't give him any card since it's
    not a dangerous tackle.
  - If possible, AVOID tackling from behind or beside cause the referee
    seems will red-carded your player.
  - Do not use a forward to bring the ball from midfield to the front.
It's harder to pass since there'll be lots of defenders zone-pressed
him. Some team usually have a good midfielder.Pass the ball to him
and let him bring the ball forward to perform a through pass either
to the left or right side since your forward usually are there.
  - Through pass is rocks! It really works most of the times, but some
times, it's not that easy to shoot a goal than to pass. If you're on
a free position offguard, and your opponent's GK try to narrow your
shoot-angle, instead of shooting, try to lob the ball to the centre
or short-pass. Your friend usually there to catch the ball and shoot.
  - It's easier to individually dribble and take away a defender while
    NOT speed-bursting (R1)
  - Toggle your attack and defense system by pressing 'Select'.Especially
if you're still losing a goal, attack them, or if you've won a goal,
try to defend and counter attack them.
  - While defending, try to avoid any hole that will allow your opponent
to perform a through pass.Cos if their player is running freely, then
    it's almost 80% goal.

 ø Tips and Tricks ø
I've divided each tips and tricks into its proper section to make it
easier to browse and read. If you have some cool and useful tricks, tips
or any valuable input/revisions, please send it to me. All strategies
here are based on my experiments on playing this game, I didn't take
them from any magazines or websites.

   KICK OFF
  - After kick off, pass the ball behind to the midfield, and try to give
a time for your forward to sprint forward. Passing around is a good
idea to find a hole to perform a through pass to the forward.
  - Let your forward do a block tackle by pressing 'X' rapidly after your
opponent has kicked off. He's likely to take the ball away and pass
it to your midfield quickly to build an attack.

   SPRINTING
  - To take away your defender while sprinting you must timed your move
ment perfectly. While running, your defender usually will blocked
your move, at this time, stop running, and turn your direction 90ø
away from him, he'll lose a second, and you can keep running with
    a ball.
  - There's a chance to pass your defender by dribbling the ball toward
the defender. If he's getting close, quickly press Right+R1 or Left+
R1 to quickly take him away.

   SHOOTING
  - To get a strong shoot, chase a pass (preferably, a through pass),
and raise your energy bar to 75%, and shoot it! This will avoid a
skied-ball and you get a very strong shoot.
  - Holding L1 while shooting in the penalty area will make your player
attempt to lob the ball over the keeper. Yet to score using this kind
of technique is rather tough, the keeper usually just manages a tip
over the bar, but surely it's possible.
  - When you're one-on-one against the goalie, try to pass him the same
way you take out the opponent's defender. Approach him and when he's
about to dive in, press right/left+R1, and after you pass him, simply
tap the shoot button. You will score an easy goal!
  - Calculate the energy bar wisely. Always notice your current position,
usually if you're outside and want to do a direct shoot, a full energy
bar will give you a strong and accurate shoot.
  - When you're one-on-one against a goalie, don't just shoot without
directing your shoot-angle as the goalie will tip it away or catch it
Try pressing D+L+[] to shoot at the left corner or D+R+[] to shoot at
    the right corner.

   PASSING
  - Pressing L1 while receiving a short pass will cause the player does
a 'dummy' and lets the ball thru his legs.. hopefully for his partner
to blast the ball into the net!
  - Tapping O two times will make your player cross the ball to the center
of the opponent's penalty area with a chest-height.
  - To perform a decent, low-and-fast cross to the penalty area, try to
tap O three times. After passing, quickly tap [] for a half-volley
    shot to the goal.
  - Instead of through pass (T) try short lob pass (O). Pass the ball to
the forward player by tapping O. The ball will fly over a defender's
head and your forward reach out his foot to bring it down. The only
drawback is if you're facing tall defenders. They'll usually be able
    to head the ball away.
  - Through pass isn't only useful while you're attacking. It's also
really useful while you're defending. Sometimes, your angle looks
impossible to clear the ball as the opposing attacker might steal
it, then through pass to the other defender, and quickly press O
    to clear the ball.
  - Sometimes, it's harder to attack from the centre as the opponent's
defender is concentrate on the central defense. Regarding this,
pass the ball to your left or right wing, usually they'll free to
do a running, and sky the ball to the centre for a heading.

   THROW-IN
  - Pressing 'X' will throw the ball to your nearest player. Do this and
quickly through-pass as the thrower will chase it and do the running
    You'll get a chance to get a good lob-passing for a header.

   FREE KICK
  - If you have a chance for a free kick near the penalty area, then it's
a great chance to get a goal. Angle your shoot-direction and press []
until the energy bar reached about 75-80% and release it. If you're
lucky, opponent's GK won't be able to tip it off.
  - If you're free-kicking from the middle, then try long-ball passing to
the front as one of your forward might have a chance to head-pass the
ball to the other forward for a shoot.
  - If you're free-kicking from behind, then pass it back to your GK.
Don't try short-pass as the opponent more likely to steal it from you
and sprint toward your GK for a shoot.

   CORNER KICK
  - You can perform a curve shoot either from free kicks and corners by
pressing X right after you release the shoot buttion ([]). The longer
you pressed the X button, the more the ball curves (depends on the
meter bar too).   Each  player  can  make the ball curve in only one
direction depends on which player you are using to take the kick and
    which foot he uses.
  - Instead of pressing O for a long ball, press [] for a powerful shot
to the centre. The ball will go faster and lower giving your striker
a better chance to do a heading, diving-heading or over-head kick.
  - Long ball tactics usually don't work if you're against tall-players
team (such as most European country). They'll deflect it away or
head it away to keep their goal safe. Instead of doin' this, just
short-pass (X) that corner ball to your nearest friend, and let him
sprint to the centre, and short-pass again to the striker, and tap
    [] quickly for a one-touch shoot.

   CENTERING THE BALL
  - When you are centering the ball,  the type of center depends  on  how
many times you the button pressed. If you press it once you will have
the standard center (high),  if  you press it twice you got a medium
height strong center, and if you press it three times you will got a
grounder. These last two types are difficult to implement but when
the center is a bit clear, you get a fast and easy goal as the speed
of the center and the following shot or header on goal is very fast.

   PENALTY KICK
  - If you've got a penalty kick, then shoot right to the centre cause
your opponent goalie is likely to jump to the right or left.

   GOALKEEPING
  - By holding T, your goalie will try to narrow your opposing attacker's
shooting-angle, and try to grab the ball away. To make your goalie go
    back, simply release the T.

 Classic All-Stars
You're able to play in an exhibition mode with a classic all-stars
team. This team has an excellent power, speed, technique, offense, and
defense. To select this team, you must highlight the 'Exhibition Mode'
in the menu-selection, and press Up,Up,Down,Down,Left,Right,Left,Right,
X,O continously. You'll hear a hand-clapping sound if you did it right.
