Welcome to the Wild 9 FAQ. Hopefully this will be a full walkthrough in
later versions. This is the first FAQ/Walkthrough i have ever made and I hope
it is usefull for many people. Right now, there are no Wild 9 FAQs or
Walkthroughs on GameFAQs and I think this game is worth making a Walkthrough
for.
This FAQ includes:
I. Story
II. Characters
III. Game Controls
IV. General Strategies
V. Codes
VI. Level Strategies/Walkthrough (not complete)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I. Story !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The game has no opening video or anything to tell the story except for the
writing in the instruction book, so to find out the story you WILL have to read
and I know you don't like that but, that's life. You can read the LONG story
in the book and get all the humor or you can read my short version which cuts
out most of the useless stuff and the humor.
The story takes place in the Andromeda Galaxy. The people of this galaxy
are being oppressed by Karn and his forces. You control Wex who is the only
person capable of using the rig, which is his main weapon, and he is rumored to
be 'The Great Chanpion' and will save the galaxy from Karn. The game starts
after Karn sent an attack to the Wild 9's base. They kidnapped all of the
members of the Wild 9 except for Wex, Bangus, and Pilfer. Wex sets out to
rescue all of the other members of the Wild 9.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! II. Characters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Wild 9 is:
1. Wex Major 6. Pokkit
2. Bangus 7. Crystal
3. Mac Sheen 8. Henry
4. Volstagg 9. Pilfer
5. Boomer McTwist 10. Nitro
you might have noticed that the wild 9 really is 10 people. Don't ask me
why, it just is.
1. Wex Major: This is the character you control in the game. He is the
leader of the Wild 9. He is the only person who can use the rig, which is
his main weapon. For this reason, he is rumored to be 'The Great
Champion' who will save the galaxy from Karn.
2. B'angus: He is a little coward who lives inside the rig, which is the only
indestructible container in the galaxy. He gives you advice throughout
the game.
3. Mac Sheen: His body can transform into anything.
4. Volstagg: He used to be a prince but he was captured by Karn's
Bio-geneticists and transformed into a huge beast with the strength of
three silverback gorillas and the agility of a gazelle.
5. Boomer McTwist: She is the daughter of a now-deceased Scottish superhero.
She carries her father's tartan superhero outfit in a sling on her belt.
When she puts it on she gains the superhero strength of her father.
6. Pokkit: Pokkit is an experiment in 'bio-warping.' He wears a jacket that
is covered in pockets from which he can produce anyy object he needs, but
it doesn't work like that and he never produces the right object at the
right time.
7. Crystal: She is made of living crystalline. She is the most intelligent
member of the Wild 9. She shows no emotion in her face or body, but her
hair expresses all of Crystal's emotions.
8. Henry: Henry is an aquatic robot. He acts as the teams chief science
officer and mobile recon unit.
9. Pilfer: Pilfer is another Karn experiment. He has multiple
personalities, 167 of them. He is the captain of the Wild 9's ship.
10. Nitro: Nitro is encased in a protective suit because he is allergic to
everything. If exposed to anything, he explodes. The Wild 9 uses this to
their advantage.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! III. Game Controls !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The controls take a while to get used to, in fact, at first you might think
they suck, but they don't. If you have a Dual Shock or Analog pad I suggest
using the digital pad even though the game supports the analog stick.
There are many different styles of gameplay in different levels. These are the
different types of gameplay:
1. Normal game
2. Jetbike levels (Light Armada, Quagmire Run, Mach-9)
3. Falling levels (Outpost Anom, Outpost Balor)
4. Beast riding in the normal game (Beast Engine)
5. Beast riding levels (Beast Ride)
These are the game's controls which I will explane in more detail in the _Level
Strategies/Walkthroughs_ section.
1. Normal game controls:
D-pad or Analog stick left/right - move left/right
D-pad or Analog stick down - duck, grab switches
D-pad or Analog stick up - look up, let go of switches
x - jump
Square - use rig
Triangle - use item
D-pad or Analog stick left/right/up/down - move left/right/up/down
x - tuck position to speed up and grab onto enemies backs
Square - grab enemy/throw enemy
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IV. General Strategies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This section is general tips throughout the whole game.
1. When enemies fire missiles jump over them, when they throw grenades run
under them.
2. Missiles are fairly common and you rarely NEED them. The best time to use
missiles is when you face more than one enemy at a time because the rig can
only grab one enemy.
3. I suggest using the D-pad to control instead of the Analog stick.
4. Don't jump into fans on the celings or grinders on the ground.(just kidding)
5. Kill enemies by hitting them against the ground. If you drop them in
grinders or electricute them or anything like that then the enemy doesn't
drop energy but if you hit them against the ground they always drop energy.
!!!!!!!!!! V. Level Strategies/Walkthrough !!!!!!!!!
Level 1 - Bombopolis:
It might take you a couple of lives to beat this level the first time you
play but it is pretty easy. Use this level to get used to the controls and get
used to bashing people into the ground. When you get to a grinder blocking
your path(not in the ground) you just throw 3 bad guys in it and it will blow
up. When you reach a place where there is a fan that blows you up and at the
top there is a thing to grab onto with your rig, there is a 1-up. You have to
swing with your rig and there is a ledge to the right with a 1-up on it. The
next tough spot is the semi-boss that has a blade that he uses to fly like a
helocopter. You need to get him to follow you to the right side and then grab
him from behind with the rig and he will lift you up. Then you just jump on
the ledge and leave. He can walk faster than you but, if you keep jumping you
will be faster than him. Before you leave though you should kill him by
bashing him against the ground and you will earn a 1-up. If you use missiles
to kill him he will not give you a 1-up. Later, there is a grinder blocking
the path and there is a grinder on the floor inbetween the grinder and the
enemy generator. You have to carry the enemy over the grinder on the floor.
To carry enemies, grab them with the rig and press diagonal-up then let go of
diagonal-up then you can walk with him still in the air.
All these codes have to be entered with the game paused.
Red mode:
R, U, L, O, U, O, O

Infinite Continues:
In the level Craterscape there is a 1-up at the beginging of the level. Just
jump up at the first place that the view is blocked. Pause the game and quit
and do it again.
