This guide will show how to get all weapons and secret maps
and how to get each of the four endings to get the most out
of this excellent game.
It will give the earliest opportunity to access any secrets
for the most efficent 100% playthrough.
I won't be giving general battle strategies because that
would take away from the enjoyment. The great joy of this
game is the satisfaction you get from winning with your own
skill and intelligence.
I will assume you know the basics of the game and will only
be enhancing your game with spoiler-free info and advice.
I would just like to say a few words before we start.
First of all I am a big fan of RPGS and especially these
strategy RPGs. I'm also a huge Final Fantasy fan.
I've completed Final Fantasy Tactics, Jeanne D'arc, Saiyuki
Journey West and Disgaea. The first two multiple times.
I've also tried my hand at Tactics Ogre and the likes of
Advance Wars and Fire Emblem.
Now with that background, for me to say that this is one of
best games i've ever played and easily the best strategy
RPG ever shows my passion for this game. For those of you
who have yet to play this classic you are in for a treat.
After the battle you'll get access to the shop. Make sure
you buy both Knives and equip them on Joshua (after you
learn the abilities you can transfer them both onto one
knife and replace the weaker one with a Shield).
Everytime you get a new Knife make sure you transfer
'Searchmark' and 'Unlock' onto it before equipping it.
Note: The 'Recovermark' ability on the Goblin Shield is one
of the most useful in the game. It heals 15HP at the end of
each turn and is accumulative so you can put a few on your
shield and recover 15HP for each one! There is a limited
number of Goblin Shields in the game so divide the
'Recovermarks' as you find necessary.
Note: Map 12 has given access to Queentia, a secret map.
Throughout the game you'll come across many similar 'Maps'
and it's best to complete them straight-away because they
have some of the best and rarest items.
Also i'd like to talk a bit about the Urn you just found or
more to the point the 'Brawler' ability on it. This ability
if you use it you'll see it does around 25/30HP damage.
"Big deal" you're probably thinking, but this ability is
accumulative. Each extra 'Brawler' you put on a 'Special'
class item raises damage dealt. Suffice it to say when you
fill a weapon with these you'll have probably the most
powerful attack in the game. NEVER DISCARD ANY BRAWLERS!!!
So ends the Prologue watch the remaining scenes, read the
conclusion and you'll be filled in on events that followed
that fateful day. This game's story always fascinated me. I
think it is one of the best game storylines EVER always
comparing it to the intricacies of a Shakespeare epic.

||~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~||
|| CHAPTER ONE ||
||~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~||
||~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~||
===========================================================
you start the chapter with two new party members but, worry
not, they have all the stats and equipment of Clive & Yuri.
After the first battle you finally have access to the Wing
Armour. I will give you my tips on how to equip your Party
for a nice balanced team as, you get new members. You're
welcome to experiment or totally disagree but this is how i
like the team:
Joshua - A knife with 'Searchmark' and 'Unlock' abilities.
- A Shield with some 'Recovermark' abilities.
- Wing Armour.
Pike - A 'Special' weapon with all 'Brawler' abilities
(you only have one yet) and any others you like.
- A Shield with some 'Recovermark' abilities.
- Wing Armour.
Vlad - Alternate between all two-handed weapons like
Swords, Spears and Axes to learn their abilities.
When there isn't anything to learn on these go
onto one-handed Swords, Axes, Specials or anything
else with unlearned abilities. This is necessary
to keep your money up (by selling old equipment)
and learn new abilities.
- Wing Armour.
These three are your Elite Strike Force. They'll do all the
hard jobs, get the treasure and back-up your other team
members. What did that guy on the train say? A match for a
whole brigade. He wasn't exaggerating.
Note: You have your second Urn now. Learn the 'Brawler'
ability from it before selling it and put them both on the
same weapon for extra damage when you use the skill.
After the battle you will have separated from your clients
and will be back to your original three members. All you
need to do to continue the story is to go to Luxar Village
Tavern and overhear a conversation.
At this time i'd also advise talking to the last two people
in the tavern to hear about Map-3. Then go to the Shop and
select Buy then keep going down below Item for ??? press O
four times to reveal Map-3. Buy it. Also there are a couple
of accessories for sale. get some Bandanas for a little HP
boost. If you can't afford Map-3 yet get it after the next
battle since i don't recommend going to Triangle (Map-3)
until you get the whole team back.
You now have another 2 recruits to join your ever expanding
force. The beauty of this game is that no matter how many
characters you have they all enter every battle together.
You don't choose your best five or six like other lesser
Strategy RPGs. Final Fantasy Tactics and Jeanne D'arc,
although excellent games otherwise, always annoyed me when
i had to pick my team. Same with the over-hyped Disgaea.
Anyway if you are following my advice equip them like so:
Gilti - A Bow. You can now have a dedicated Archer and
Thrower without having to alternate both weapons
as you may have been doing with Pratau. He can be
your Throwing Weapons expert now.
- Light Armour.
Maria - A Staff.
- A Shield. Since you now have your second Mage they
can divide spells between them & equip a Shield as
well. This will boost HP. Equip Lira the same.
- Mage Armour.
Basically two Mages & two Throwers/Archers out of the four.
You can have a male and female Mage or two females in same
job or have the two men as the Mages. Makes no difference.
You're probably thinking you haven't got any Knights in the
party but they'll come later don't worry. Also they are the
slowest & least useful members so you're not missing much.
By the end you'll have the most balanced party possible.
Time for a little trick to get a free 'Recovermark'. Before
entering the next battle equip one of your Winged teammates
with a Shield with the 'Weapon Trade' ability on it. If you
already have the ability on one of your Shields buy a Small
Shield from the shop (it being the cheapest) and transfer
it onto that if not just buy a Buckler to get the ability.
Don't equip any other weapon cos you'll be losing it soon.
Now on the next map you'll have four guests in your Party.
One of them being an old friend. You'll notice that he has
a Shield with the 'Recovermark' ability on it. There is one
way only to get that Shield and that is to have your Shield
guy use the 'Weapon Trade' ability on him in battle. Do so.
You'll get his Staff & Shield in exchange for your Shield.
Although this can be done on Ghote Plain, Barm Mt. Range or
Mining Prison(5) i recommend you do it as soon as possible.
You now have the 'Blockmake' & 'Blockbreak' abilities. Make
sure that they are always equipped on Pike.'Blockmake' will
be necessary in many stages 'Blockbreak' not so much but it
is good to have in case you put a block in the wrong place.
Now that you have the 'Blockmake' skill you can access
previously unreachable items starting with:
Note: You can only get the Dirtball at night. Do this as
follows: In the top right corner of your world map is a
sundial. Enter Fortuna between 10 o'clock and midnight.
Note: The 'Beacon' is a very useful accessory. Who-ever has
it equipped becomes the prime target for the enemy. As long
as the wearer is in range the enemy will always go for them
even if there is someone nearly dead. This can help control
battles if used correctly. I always equip it on Pike.
Note: The Zebra will give you the coveted 'Re-animator'
skill with which you can revive fallen allies. Make sure to
equip it on a Mage (they are the only ones with high enough
MP to make any use of it).
Note: With your second Philbook both your Mages are nicely
equipped. You won't need to change their accessories again.
Also with you fourth 'Brawler' it's party time for Pike.
But since he won't have enough space for all the 'Brawlers'
and 'Blockmake' and 'Blockbreak' i suggest removing his
Shield and giving him two Special class weapons to solve
the problem. Don't worry this is only temporary for the
next few fights.

||~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~||
|| CHAPTER THREE ||
||~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~||
||~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~||
===========================================================
Now that you have another new character you can finally
have a Knight in your Party. Equip her as follows:
Agress - Basically she'll be taking over Vlad's role.
Alternate between all two-handed weapons like
Swords, Spears and Axes to learn their abilities.
When there isn't anything to learn on these go
onto one-handed Swords, Axes, Specials or anything
else with unlearned abilities.
- Heavy Armour
Now with Vlad free to pursue new jobs i suggest you use him
to help take some of the load off Pike. Equip them like so:
Pike - A 'Special' weapon with all 'Brawler' abilities.
- A Shield with some 'Recovermark' abilities.
- Wing Armour.
Vlad - A 'Special' weapon with 'Blockmake' & 'Blockbreak'
and any others you like.
- A Shield with some 'Recovermark' abilities.
- Wing Armour.
There are four endings in the game i'll show you how to get
them all. Make additional saves if you want to view them
all in one playthrough.
When you first enter Daboll Mountain you won't have a
battle, just some cut-scenes to view. Eventually you'll
have to make a choice:
Choose "MAKE AMENDS" for Adele to live. (BEST ENDING)
Choose "MAKE EXCUSES" for Adele to die.
As far as this choice goes you can still get all endings if
you choose "Make amends" so i suggest you do so. There are
other ways for Adele to die but none others to save her.
Note: When you finally return to the world map re-enter it
to collect these necessary goodies.
Also just cos you only have four slots on your 'Special'
weapons don't be tempted to discard the 'Urn' thinking the
'Brawler' is unnecessary. You will soon get a weapon with
enough slots to hold every 'Brawler' in the game. Have the
ability learned and ready for then.
Note: Re-enter Zero with the 0-Mirror equipped on someone
to access this special battle. You'll be up against doubles
of your team with exactly the same equipment as your own.
Both items on this map are 'Special' class and two of the
best weapons in the game. The 'Textbook' has enough slots
to fit all your 'Brawlers', giving the most powerful attack
in the game. The 'EvilDoll' is very powerful and has a very
high critical hit rate. Equip 'Textbook' on Pike to finally
transfer that fifth 'Brawler' onto it. Equip the 'Evildoll'
on Vlad.
Note: you can't get two of the items the first time so get
the Tortoise Shield and finish the stage. Afterwards equip
the Tortoise Shield on someone and re-enter the map.
This time you have to use the 'Terraformer' spell from the
Tortoise Shield on the water just below the out-of-reach
chests and then use 'Blockmake' to gain access.
To get this Map you have to do a little walking around on
the world map. First go to Sady Town and talk to the woman
a couple of times until she asks you to find someone called
Daniel for her. Next walk around all the Towns on the world
map and talk to people in the Taverns until they mention
Daniel. If you have done it right the last place (it was
Kiskana for me) will tell you he's gone back home. Return
to Sady Town and Daniel will be in the Tavern. Talk to him
and he'll give you Map-2.
This one isn't as hard as the last. Simply go to Kiskana &
talk to the man in the Tavern at the bottom of the list.
You'll have to talk to him a few times before he'll answer.
Back on the world map the new location will be available.
After Lugusta Ruins you'll get a couple of cutscenes. In
one where Joshua and Clive have a chat you'll be given two
choices.
Choose "OKAY I'LL TAKE CARE OF HER" for Clive to die.
Choose "YOU TAKE CARE OF HER" for Clive to live (BEST).
Save onto a different slot after making your choice. Make
sure the save BEFORE the choice never gets replaced. From
there you can get any of the four endings.
Return to Lugusta Ruins now that you have all seven Prisms
(make sure you examine the Clod etc to reveal the Prisms).
You will see a few scenes and get the Vandal Hearts swords.
This determines whether Yuri lives or dies:
Enter Natra Palace WITH Vandal Hearts for Yuri to live.
Enter Natra Palace WITHOUT Vandal Hearts for Yuri to die.
Again keep a separate save file before going to Lugusta
Ruins if you want to view all endings.
You now have the three ending markers. From these you can
get four possible endings. As follows.
Best - Clive lives, Yuri lives, Adele lives.
Bad 1 - Clive dies, Yuri lives.
Bad 2 - Clive lives, Yuri dies.
Worst - Clive dies, Yuri dies.
Adele will only live if both Clive and Yuri survive.
