1. REVISION HISTORY
=======================================================================
Version 1.0 [September 12, 2005] - Initial release
This FAQ is for every Vagrant Story collector out there, those of you
who go after some of those very special and very rare weapons in the
game. It is intended to be the most complete and total guide to rare
weaponry in Vagrant Story, a game which has endeared itself to some of
the most die hard completists in all of gaming.
Within you will find listings for the three rarest weapons in Vagrant
Story. Each section has complete weapon drop points and their
conditions, statistical information, and when available, information
pertaining to the origin of their names.
One note before continuing on with this FAQ. If this is your first time
through the game, this FAQ is not for you. Many of these weapons are
only attainable by those who have completed the game once, and bear the
Rood Inverse upon their backs. For those of you who are ready, I
present you with your complete Vagrant Story guide to rare weapons.
=======================================================================
3. THE RHOMPHAIA
=======================================================================
The name "rhomphaia" is Thracian in origin, meaning "a sword". In
modern Greek, "a big broad sword". It is probably most well known as
the sword of divine judgment used by Jesus in The New Testament Book
of Revelation, and is often considered to be "the Word of God". The
sword is also attributed to Death, Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse.
There are twelve Rhomphaia swords in Vagrant Story. Of the first four
Rhomphaia swords in the game, three are carried by Bosses. These three
all carry the "Angel" designation. None of these four are attainable
from the enemies that carry them.
The final great eight Rhomphaia swords of Vagrant Story are attainable,
but only after your first play through the game. Each of these swords
carries its own tale; each has a legendary name from some of the great
myths, legends, and religions of the world.

4. THE HAND OF LIGHT
=======================================================================
The "Hand of Light", the mighty heavy mace carried by the six Minotaurs
of Vagrant Story. The origin of its name is unknown, but it is
something that is most likely religious in origin. One could possibly
look at it as the "Hand of God", which, judging by the size of it, is
probably not too far off.
Of the six Hand of Light heavy maces in the game, only three are
attainable. Unfortunately, the only Bronze Hand of Light is amongst
the three not dropped by its master. It should be noted that though
rare, the Hand of Light is not the most powerful weapon in its class.

5. THE HOLY WIN
=======================================================================
Like the Hand of Light, the "Holy Win" is yet another enigmatic weapon
name found in Vagrant Story. This rather unwieldy looking weapon is
actually a large "Rood Inverse", the ever-present religious symbol seen
throughout Vagrant Story. Rood is an archaic word specifically
referring to the crucifix, or a representation of Christ on the cross.
The Holy Win itself is only seen twice in the game. Your initial run in
with this weapon is during the next to final battle with Guildenstern.
At this point, the weapon is unattainable. Like the Rhomphaia, it is
only during subsequent playthroughs of the game that you can get this
weapon, and it is not easy. The undead knight, "Last Crusader", only
appears under special conditions. When he does, the chance of him
dropping the Holy Win is extremely remote. It is, without a doubt, the
rarest weapon in Vagrant Story.
