A) Moving around the map                                             [GBAS.A]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Like the Fire Emblem games, you move around the map by hovering the cursor
over a character and selecting said character and then picking a space for
him / her to move to.

Your movement is restricted by terrain, the movement reductions for your
character in any given terrain can be found in their status screen. Flying
units can pass over and stop over most obstacles.

Units with Warp can Warp to any space on the map by using the Warp option
that comes up when you don't move. After Warping to the space, you can
then move from that spot.

There are spaces that can be manipulated such as Doors, Chests, Bridges and
Gates. In the case of the former three, they need a unit with the Picklock
skill, or their respective keys to open. Gates can only be broken down by
characters attacking.

Once you've stopped moving, you can choose what you want that character to
do, which shouldn't be too hard to figure out even if you can't read
Japanese.

Attack : Initiates battle with opponent
Wait   : Ends turn
Item   : You have three options, to Trade, Use or Throw Away the item. The
option to use an item will only show up if you have a useable item
        in your inventory.
Staff  : Use a Staff
Dance  : Gives a unit another turn, may give boosts to Strength, Magic and
        Defence
Sing   : Sings, heals HP and may give units another turn, Area of Effect
        depends on the Singer's level
Charge : If the Character's Speed is higher than his / her opponents', you
can select this option to initiate 2-5 rounds of battle

Dismount: Character gets off his / her mount
Mount  : Character gets on his / her mount
Talk   : Initiates a conversation
Warp   : Warp to any space on the map, can move afterwards
Transform : Transform to an ally or enemy character
Unlock : Unlock Doors, Bridges and Chests
Shop   : Enters a Shop
Arena  : Enters an Arena
Visit  : Visit a house on the Map
Animation : Set the unit's animation type manually

After mounted units with the Re-Move skill have ended their turns, they can
move again according to how far they moved before.

_____________________________________________________________________________

B) Attacking                                                         [GBAS.B]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Before you initiate a battle with an enemy, a window pops up showing the
enemy's base hit rate, attack among others. When you press A again, there
will be two windows showing the true rates for your character and the enemy.
These are pretty much self-explanatory so I'll leave it at that.

There is a small panel by the bottom when you're attacking, it'll show the
hit rate, critical rate, attack and defence for that character.

The amount of damage dealt is given by

o---------------------------------o
|Your Attack - The Enemy's Defence|
o---------------------------------o

The battle window omits certain special effects that weapons have. Some
weapons halve the damage dealt, they aren't shown but they're still there.

Physical attacks, like Lances and Bows use the defence stat, while Magic
uses half of the enemy character's Magic stat as the defence.

You can attack two times if your displayed speed is at least five more than
your opponents. Additionally, certain weapons grant two times or four times
the attacks.

C) The Menu                                                          [GBAS.C]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Whenever you press the circle button on an empty square, a small menu will
pop up. These are the options:
__________
|         |
| Units   |
| Enemies |
| Data    |
| Items   |
| Options |
| End     |
|_________|

The 'Units' option brings up a list of all allied units on the field.
The 'Enemies' option brings up a list of all enemy units on the field.

The 'Data' option gives information about the different sides and the
current turn count. I don't really know what it says exactly so I'm afraid
I can't fully describe it. If you press the Triangle button you can see a
graph of the W.P. changes of the ally and enemy factions, it isn't very
useful but it's pretty neat.

The 'Items' option shows you a list of all the items you have.

The Options menu allow you to change various options, here is a list of the
options:

|___________________________|______________________________|

_____________________________________________________________________________

E) The Arena                                                         [GBAS.E]
_____________________________________________________________________________

There are large, dome-shaped buildings in some maps called Arenas. You can
choose to enter them and then bet some money to face a fighter. You get
back more money if you win but you lose the bet if you forfeit or die.

Unlike the Fire Emblem games, you use your own weapons in the Arena, and
after a set number of turns, if both opponents are still standing it is a
draw and you get back your bet.

Arenas count towards kills on your weapons and on the terrain itself, so if
you're looking to power up the Iron Sword / Iron Lance, it'd probably be the
best way to do it outside of eyeballs.

_____________________________________________________________________________

F) Supports                                                          [GBAS.F]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Characters can support other characters giving a boost to accuracy, evasion,
critical rate and critical evasion. The supports' boost battle stats
according to their current value. The Support Values cannot go over 15%.

The Support Bonus is one-way, meaning that another character recieves the
bonus but may not give a similar bonus to the other character.

There are special events which increase the support values of your
characters, and are listed below.

If Leteena is fielded and is alive, all allies recieve a 10% boost to their
avoid. Units with the Charisma skill give all allies within 3 panels of him
or her a 5% support, Lan's Mirror also has the same effect, and stacks with
Charisma.

_____________________________________________________________________________

There are many skills available to characters. Skills can be learnt either
through levelling up, using a skill manual or going to special buildings in
town to learn them.

Some of these skills might seem familiar if you've played the Fire Emblem
games, specifically Seisen no Keifu, Thracia 776, Path of Radiance and
Radiant Dawn.

H) Levelling Up                                                      [GBAS.H]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Whenever a unit reaches 100 EXP, their level goes up by one. Their stats have
a set % to increase, and if you're lucky said stat will increase. The
characters also will learn skills at certain levels.

Non-promoted units can reach a maximum of Level 20, while units that are
already promoted when they join can reach a maximum of Level 30. The Maximum
Level that can be reached is 40.

To increase the number of levels a unit can gain, you can use a Super Proof
which allows them to grow 10 more levels, or you can promote non-promoted
units to add 20 more levels. Keep in mind that it only allows you to gain
20 more levels than your current level, which means that if you promote at
level 10 you can only reach level 30.

You should promote at the earliest time possible (level 10, or maybe a tad
later if you don't have the required item on hand). Unlike the Fire Emblem
games, you don't recieve a cut in EXP once promoted, and the extra statistics
are really significant and are a great help.

You do lose out on about 10 levels (level 30-40), but you can use the Super
Proof to make up for these. Generally I find that not too many units need
it, only units with Elite like Narron reach such high levels.

The Salia and Reeve Tomes raise growth rates, the Salia Tome raises Strength,
Skill, Agility and Defence growth by 10%, the Reeve Tome raises Max HP,
Luck, Magic and Weapon Level by 10%.

I) The World Map                                                      [GBAS.I]
______________________________________________________________________________

Whenever you're on the world map, a small menu will pop up to allow you to
perform different actions.

o==========o
| Move     |
| Data     |
| Shops    |
| Organise |
| Save     |
o==========o

'Move' allows you to move from one spot to another.

'Data' allows you to check the stats of every character present in your
team.

If there are shops in the part of the world map in which you are standing,
you can visit them and buy stuff using the 'Shop' command.
The top option is the armory, selling weapons while the bottom is the vendor
selling miscellanous items.

The 'Organise' command allows you to switch weapons around and alter the
placement of your characters, so you need not switch them around before the
battle.

'Save' gives you the option to save the game.

There are enemies displayed on the world map. You can hover over them and
press triangle to see their stats. Most enemies are part of the main story,
if you enter that map you will enter a story battle. There are some enemies
that move around and can be battled repeatedly, known as 'Encounters'. You
can farm these guys for experience, but keep in mind that they can only
be encountered in Holmes' route, and the process is tedious and you will be
fine going through the game normally.

Only Holmes' team has the option to backtrack, Runan's team cannot move to
anywhere else on the world map other than the location of the next story
battle or event. There are some sections when Holmes' team can't backtrack
as well, so keep that in mind.

I won't be narrating the story in the walkthrough since I want to avoid too
many spoilers. There is an English Game Script Translation on GameFAQs, by
FireLizard, but it is only up to Map 16. Alternatively you can use the
Chinese translation on ChinaFE, it is almost complete and only has a few
minor conversations missing.

A) Map 1: Arrival at Welt                                             [MAP.1]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne

Items Obtainable:

Iron Sword     (Upper Left House) (Kill Count 51)
WLV Plus       (Upper Middle House)
Herb           (Lower Right House)
Amulet         (House second from the left in the bottom row)
Leather Shield (House third from the left in the bottom row)
Herb           (Defeat enemy archer)

Characters:

Runan
Arkis
Kreiss
Garo

Sasha (Joins when Runan speaks to her)
Kate  (Joins when Runan speaks to Sasha)

Special Events:

Sea Fighter Skill (Blue Building at the upper right)
Drawbridge lowers (Turn 5)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You get four units from the getgo, Runan, Arkis, Kriess and Garo. Runan is
one of your main Lords, and thus it is necessary to train him. If he is
underlevelled you're going to have trouble in a few chapters as he is
required to complete them. Runan has solid growths, but lack of movement
before promotion hurts his EXP gain a bit.

Arkis and Kriess are both okay units, but they are statistically inferior to
many other mounted units. However, you have to train Kriess if you want to
recruit Leteena (since it'll be very hard to recruit her with an untrained
Kriess).

Leteena's pretty good, so you might want to train Kriess. You can choose to
go to Map 26a and forgo training Arkis.

Garo is pretty horrid, despite his decent combat. His movement is pitiful,
and his growths subpar, making him an inferior unit throughout the game.

Visit the houses along the way, and note that the Iron Sword that you recieve
has 51 kills already. When a weapon reaches 50 kills, every subsequent kill
made increases the critical rate by one. When it reaches 100 kills, its
critical rate will stop growing and will cap at 50.

When a weapon reaches 100 kills, it will either turn into a Blue-Starred
Weapon or a Red-Starred weapon, the latter has a Curse that may kill your
character when he / she tries to attack.

Thus, the Iron Sword is comparatively easier to upgrade to maximum critical
rate, but it is still very tedious and will require you to spend money on
Repair Hammers / Repair Staves to repair it before it breaks. Try to get
a decent critical rate on the Iron Sword, but there are many other weapons
that are better than a fully upgraded Iron Sword.

Back to the Map, you will notice that Kate and Sasha are running away from
enemies. You have to wait until turn 5, so that the drawbridge lowers and
move Runan forward to speak to Sasha, recruiting both her and Kate at the
same time. Garo can move across the river and onto the path, so you might
want to give him a headstart by doing so.

Sasha is pretty subpar compared to other similar characters, and has a bad
start since her base Strength is very low. However, if you wait until level
10 before promoting her, she gets Elite which will help her out, she might
even surpass other units because she grows insanely fast with Elite. She
can potentially be good but it is tough to raise her from the start.
Charisma is a nice bonus too.

Kate is a subpar unit, she is quite good at this point but gets bad as you
progress. However, you might want to train Kate for an easier time in certain
chapters.

Anyway, just kill off the Soldiers and try not to let anyone die. The Boss can
be taken care of using Runan's Rapier or Kate's Estoc, which are effective
on armored enemies. Arkis, Kriess and Garo can also hurt him a bit which
might help if you're trying to set up a kill for either of them.

B) Map 2: Pillagers                                                   [MAP.2]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne

Items Obtainable:

MHP Plus     (Upper-right house)
Gold Bag     (From one of the Sword-wielding bandits)
Pole Axe     (Let Barts visit the lower right house)
Gold Bag     (Let Barts visit the lower left house)
Lan's Mirror (Have Plum visit the lower left house)

Characters:

Narron  (One of Duke Marlon's men, can only get one)
Lee     (One of Duke Marlon's men, can only get one)
Ezekiel (One of Duke Marlon's men, can only get one)
Ruka    (One of Duke Marlon's men, can only get one)

Raffin  (Joins after Verge)
Estelle (Joins after Verge)

Barts   (Joins automatically)
Enteh   (Joins automatically)
Julia   (Joins automatically)
Plum    (Have Enteh visit the lower right house)

Special Events:

Choose a unit at Verge

Arkis and Estelle talk (+4% Support Bonus, Arkis > Estelle)
Runan and Enteh talk   (+5% Support Bonus, Enteh > Runan)
Lee gives Defence Staff to Plum (+5% Support Bonus, Plum > Lee)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you're on the World Map, move downwards towards Verge. Duke Marlon will
let you choose a unit of your choice, and Raffin and Estelle will join you.

You have four choices, from left to right:

Lee, Ezekiel, Narron and Ruka.

Lee is an excellent choice. He has great base stats, and can heal. He can
decimate a lot of things with Magic, and makes the early chapters much
easier. Lee also can hang back and provide support with Far-Healing Staffs
later in the game, and need not be exposed to combat all the time. Lee gives
Plum the Defense Staff in this map, which halves damage taken and is rather
useful.

Ezekiel is an average unit. He has good growths, and learns quite a few
"Fighter" type skills that give him a Hit, Evade and Movement bonus on
the corresponding maps. He's also required to recruit Leteena (there's a
little exploit you can do so that you don't need him, though). He's rather
decent, but he's overshadowed by Lee and Narron, so you shouldn't choose him
at this point.

Narron is an amazing unit. He has passable growths all round, but what makes
him awesome is his promotion, and Elite. When he promotes to Gold Knight, he
will gain a lot of stats and great skills which allow him to be
nigh-invincible and allow him to slaughter just about anything. Elite also
lets him grow incredibly fast, which gives him a lot more stats. Gold Knight
has the best stat caps in the game, which allows Narron to obtain insane
Strength among other stats. Definitely recommended.

Ruka is a bad unit. He's locked to Bows, meaning he can only kill one enemy
per turn, and he has bad stats. He should be recruited if you want to use
Racquel, another bow-user with high stats that joins later on, otherwise you
really shouldn't choose him.

So in summary, Lee and Narron are the best choice out of the four. You can
pick another one at a later point, but Ruka needs to be recruited now to
activate his event with Raquel.

You also get Raffin and Estelle. Raffin is a very solid unit, and there is
an event later on which makes him a much better unit. He is definitely
recommended.

Estelle is pretty subpar like Arkis and Kriess. She does gain Life or Death
which makes her useable. She gets Elite at level 20 which helps her out
quite a bit, however she isn't good otherwise. She gains Gale, combined
with Life or Death would make her an offensive force, but she gets it very
late and most likely won't reach that level unless you're arena abusing
or get into a lot of random encounters.

Anyway, you have to deal with the bandits, so Sasha and Kate leave the team
for now. Move down towards the bandits to initiate the battle.

Julia, Barts and Enteh will join automatically.

Julia is a Swordfighter, and has pretty decent growths all around. She has
a low Strength base but with a bit of luck it'll increase. You can use her
if she's turning out good.

Barts has pretty nice base stats, but bad growths. His HP, Strength and
Agility will turn out good but his Skill will suffer, and combined with the
low accuracy of axes he'll have problems hitting.

Enteh is a healer and is mandatory for most of Runan's chapters so you're
forced to use her. She does have passable growth rates, and staves are
pretty good in this game so she'd come in handy.

Anyway, if Enteh dies you get a Game Over, however it's pretty hard to do
that unless you throw her into a crowd of enemies. She has the Save staff,
which allows you to save your game mid-battle. Barts and Enteh are
supposed to be running away from the bandits, but Barts can take them
easily so you need not go through the forests.

Move Julia out, and move your units down to kill the bandits. Have one unit
visit the upper-right house for a MHP-Plus.

The Sword-Wielding bandits can destroy houses so try to kill them before they
get there. You should push forward, bandit reinforcements will spill out from
the left so kill them before moving on. Barts and Enteh should head towards
the village.

If Barts enters the lower right house, he will recieve a Pole Axe which is
effective against horseback units. If he enters the lower left house, he
will recieve a Gold Bag. When you open it, you'll get about 3000G. Save it
for now.

Yarzam, the boss is pretty tough, however Raffin should be able to take
him down easily, although you might want to give the kill to someone else.
Don't seize the throne yet.

Once Enteh visits the lower-right house, she will recruit Plum. Have Plum
visit the lower left house to get Lan's Mirror, a nifty item which grants
allies within three spaces of the holder a 5% boost to hit and avoid.

If Lee is present when this chapter ends, he will give Plum the Defence
Staff which raises an ally's defence by 10 for the entirety of the map.

C) Map 3: Encounter at Sora Port                                      [MAP.3]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Defeat all Enemies

Items Obtainable:

Super Proof    (Lower-left house)
LUK Up         (House in bottom row, second from left)
Iron Lance     (House in bottom row, third from left) (Kill Count 51)
Re-Move Book   (Upper-middle house)
Knight's Proof (Upper-left house)

Characters:

Sasha (Rejoins after you enter Verge)
Kate  (Rejoins after you enter Verge)

Special Events:

Enter bottom-right house with Runan (Activates many events later on involving
                                    Narsus)
Sea Fighter Skill (Enter upper-right house if it hasn't been visited in
                  Map 1)
Julia and Garo talk after the Map (After choosing the first option, Julia >
Garo and Garo > Julia +15%)
Sasha and Kate talk after the Map (Sasha > Kate +5%)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Move along to Sora Port where you fought your first battle. Sasha and Kate
will rejoin you at Verge, and Ezekiel will speak to his wife and sister if
he is in your team.

You have to contend with a horde of rushing cavaliers in this map, which
will pose a problem if they rush your weaker units. You can move units with
higher defence like Raffin and Garo up front to sponge some of the hits,
and finish off the rest using your other units. Lan's Mirror gives a 5%
bonus to hit and evasion to units 3 panels or less away from the holder, so
it'll help too in dodging the hits.

You should try to get some experience for people you want to level. Once
you've got rid of the rushing cavaliers the rest of the chapter is easy. Take
care not to move into the boss' range, he'll rush at you forcing you to end
the chapter prematurely.

On turn 3 enemy horse-riding theives will attempt to attack the village. If
all the remaining villages have been visited they will leave. These thieves
will not attack any of your units, so you can just block the path to the
village, leave one house open and let your units get easy experience off
them.

You should visit the bottom-right house with Runan to activate a conversation
with Narsus, this will enable you to get quite a few characters which will
no doubt help you a lot.

You can get a Re-Move book from the village, this skill can only be used by
mounted units. It isn't very useful since most mounted units get Re-Move
early, but you can give it to Kriess or Arkis since the former cannot learn
it naturally and the latter learns it very late, at level 38.

The Iron Lance could be useful if you bother to power it up. You get a
Knight's Proof from the village, enabling you to promote mounted units. You
should promote Narron the instant he reaches level 10, giving him insane
bonuses that allow him to solo maps all by himself. You can also get a
Super Proof enabling characters to gain 10 more levels, you should save it
for pre-promotes or characters promoted at level 10 to use.

Generally, you should promote units when they reach level 10, as they most
likely won't get to level 31 or above. If they have Elite, it is better to
promote them at level 20 since they can reach level 40 easily, but in the
case of Narron, he needs the promotion boosts to excel and must be promoted
to learn Blazing Wind at level 12.

You should let units learn skills before promoting them. Sasha gains Elite
at level 10, but only as a Princess, so you should wait until then to promote
her.

Once you're done, kill the boss. He isn't hard at all, weaken him and let
someone in need of experience take the kill.

After the map Julia and Garo will talk, be sure to select the first option
to increase their support towards each other.

D) Map 4: Tragic Soldiers                                             [MAP.4]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne

Items Obtainable:

Hand Bow (Enter northwest house with Ruka; Raquel must not be recruited yet)
        (Kill Count 80)
Far-Healing Staff (Enter bottom-right house)
Healing Fruit     (After Julia's conversation with Vega)

Characters:

Mahter (Joins on turn 1)
Raquel (Joins when Sasha visits the northwestern house)
Vega   (Joins when Julia speaks to him)

Special Events:

Enter northwest house with Ruka, Raquel must not be recruited at this point
(Raquel > Roger +5%)
Sasha and Mahter talk (Sasha > Mahter and Mahter > Sasha +4%)

After Turn 2 ends (Vega enters the map)
After Turn 5 ends (Roger and Mel charge
towards your army)
Kill Roger or Mel (Both Roger and Mel cannot be recruited later on)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a little thing I'm mentioning about promotions - characters can promote
to their second class by using a promotion item corresponding to their class,
like the Knight Proof in the previous chapter. I'd advise you to promote
everyone as early as possible, because it'd make the midgame much easier.

A pretty tricky map because of Roger and Mel. Bring Sasha and Julia to
recruit Raquel and Vega respectively, and mounted units to save the northwest
village before it gets destroyed.

Mahter joins in the first turn, she is an excellent unit because of her good
stats and ability to fly. Keep her away from archers or dismount when in
range of them, because Bows are effective towards Pegasus Knights. Move
your mounted units forward to save the village, and move Julia south from
the first fort to recruit Vega.

Once Sasha reaches the northwest house, she can enter it and recruit Raquel.
If Ruka is in your team, let him enter the house before Sasha to recieve a
Hand Bow. It is also a prerequisite for activating the event that allows
Raquel to kill humans.

Raquel is a rather special unit. She can't kill humans, but will instead
leave them at 1 HP. She can kill the monsters that show up later in the
game though. As a combat unit, she isn't too good because of said
restriction, but she is useful for weakening stuff for other units. You can
remove this restriction through an event between Ruka and Raquel in a much
later map.

Stay out of Vega's range, and let Julia speak to him, try to keep out of the
enemies' range. Vega will duel with Julia and she will be reduced to 1 HP, but
Vega will join and give her a Healing Fruit. Julia is vulnerable for the
next turn, until she gets healed or heals herself.

Vega is pretty awesome, his personal sword, the Shramm Sword, halves damage
recieved and has a high critical rate to boot. He has Heaven Saint allowing
him to absorb HP, meaning that he'd be hard to take down.

Roger and Mel will start charging on turn 5. In order to keep them alive,
you should surround Roger with female characters so he can't run off and
get himself killed. Roger will not attack or counterattack female characters,
so they can block his path so Runan can seize the throne. Mahter will help
immensely, and once you've surrounded him he can't do much. Mel won't attack
since she can't hurt anything.

You can choose to go for the Far-Healing Staff or you can just seize the
throne to save time. Mel and Roger will retreat if they are alive; you can
recruit them in later maps.

_____________________________________________________________________________

E) Map 5: The Other Side of Legend                                    [MAP.5]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Defeat all Enemies

Items Obtainable:

Wundergust (Given to Maruju after map)

Characters:

Maruju (Let Enteh talk to him, he also joins after the chapter if he
       survived)
Zeek   (Let Runan talk to him, he will talk to Runan if possible)

Special Events:

Zeek talks with Kate after the map (Kate > Zeek and Zeek > Kate +5%)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A pretty short and straightforward chapter. Gwenchaos will massacre
Eisenbaha on the first turn, then leave. Sylphize, Maruju and the four Mages
will fight the remaining Dark Soldiers and Dark Mages.

The NPC Mages will do most of the work for you. Maruju isn't hard to keep
alive; he has an Amulet that blocks a killing blow, he will rush towards
your team and Sylphize will prioritise healing him over the other NPC Mages.

With a bit of luck, most of the enemies should be gone by the time you
reach there. The Dark Mages hit hard and absorb HP with Janura so you should
prioritise them over the remaining enemies. The boss is also dangerous as he
has an Area-Of-Effect (AoE) spell, Black Hole, that hits everything in a
3x3 radius. He cannot counter with it, so you should smack him hard.

Move Runan up to recruit Zeek. He is the Dark Knight with a different potrait
and a slightly darker shade of black compared to the other units. Zeek is
probably the best character in the game combat-wise. His growths in every
stat are spectacular, and he comes with a horse and many great skills.
However, he can't be used after a certain point in the game so try not to
give all the experience to him.

Maruju can be recruited with Enteh, he will join after the chapter if he
survived and isn't recruited. He is outclassed by many other mages, his
personal spell, Wondergust, isn't as good as the other mages and he doesn't
get many opportunities to kill stuff because of his fraility. Furthermore, he
won't do as much damage as physical units most of the time.

Once you've killed the boss, he will revive using his Elixir and promptly
retreat. Kill all the other enemies to end the map.

Maruju will recieve Wondergust after the map.

_____________________________________________________________________________

F) Map 6: River Battle                                                [MAP.6]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Defeat Boss

Items Obtainable:

Iron Bow (Defeat Archer)

Characters:

Mel    (Joins on Turn 2 if Narsus event was activated in Chapter 3)
Norton (Talk with Sasha)

Special Events:

Mel talks with Sasha (Sasha gets the Pegasus Flute)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A pretty straightforward map, you might want to adjust the positions of
your units beforehand to make the chapter easier. Your forces are split into
three squads, two near the Ballistae and one before the bridge.

You should bring your foot units like Vega and Maruju to the spots where the
ballistae are, so that they can move around without suffering a stat and
movement penalty, since the ground forces non-promoted mounted units to
dismount. Meanwhile, you should send some strong mounted troops like Zeek or
Raffin to cross the bridge and deal with the armors, if need be you can
pass Kate or Mahter's Estocs over to deal with the Armors and the tank.

Mel will arrive on turn 2, don't move her until the situation is under
control. Don't go near the boss until you've recruited Norton; it might force
you to end the chapter prematurely.

Send a mounted unit or two up to the forest to take care of Norton's troops
and protect Sasha. You can use one of them to lure out Norton, just don't use
an armor-slaying weapon or one with a high critical rate. Have Sasha speak
to him to recruit him.

Norton is pretty bad as he suffers from bad movement before promotion,
and his Agility isn't too good either. However, he can be useful to tank
stuff and his high strength will enable him to function well. He promotes
into a mounted Iron Knight, with better movement, which is a plus for him.

Mel is the only Troubadour in the game, the only mounted healer. She is
pretty good due to her high movement, and will become even more useful when
she gets the Magic Staff and the Re-Move skill later on.

The boss is pretty strong with a Steel Blade and good speed, but you can wear
him down with Maruju, Zeek and other hard-hitters and it shouldn't be too
tough to kill him.

You can promote Sasha to a Pegasus Knight using the flute, but you should wait
until she reaches level 10, when she gains Elite before promoting her. Elite
will help her out a lot.

_____________________________________________________________________________

G) Map 7: Liberation of the Capital                                   [MAP.7]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne

Items Obtainable:

Sword Breaker (Defeat Boss)
Thunder Tome  (Defeat Bishop)
Armorslayer   (Northwest House)
Bridge Key    (Southernmost House)

Characters:

Roger  (Talk to him with Mel)
Thomas (Talk to him with Barts)

Special Events:

Arena Fighter Skill (Enter the blue building in the town)
Roger and his troops arrive (Turn 10)
Kate and Zeek talk  (Kate > Zeek +5%)
Ruka and Sasha talk (Ruka > Sasha +5%)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, pretty straightforward, run around and smash stuff and seize the
throne. The Archers on the towers have increased range and evasion, but you
don't need to go out of your way to kill them. One Archer and the Wood
Shooter have Repeater Bows which could prove nasty.

You can recruit Thomas with Barts, he won't attack the team unless you move
into his range. Thomas is a horrible unit as his movement is low causing
a lot of problems.

The building at the bottom is an Arena, you can gain loads of experience and
money but run the risk of your characters dying. The enemies are quite hard
and Arena Abusing makes the game a joke so I would discourage it if you
want to retain any semblance of difficulty.

Move towards the other horde of enemies, the Wood Shooter there has a Gatling
Bow, which shoots four times and is even nastier than the Repeater Bow, so
you should prioritise it.

The Boss has a Sword Breaker which would break any Sword that is used against
him. However, it doesn't break Lances, Axes or any other weapon type, so
feel free to kill him with other weapons and take the Sword Breaker.

Don't seize the throne yet, you should wait for Roger to show up on turn 10.
He'll arrive with some troops, kill them off and recruit Roger with Mel.
Roger has high base stats but doesn't have good growths, he isn't really
worth using when there are other cavaliers with much more potential. If Roger
dies, Mel leaves and vice versa.

Once you're done, seize the throne.

_____________________________________________________________________________

H) Map 8: Holy Dragon Neuron                                          [MAP.8]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Visit Fort

Items Obtainable:

Iron Shield    (Chest between the plateaus)
AGI Up         (Chest on south plateau)
Healing Drop   (Eastern Chest on north plateau)
Thunder Sword  (Western Chest on north plateau)
Thunder Shield (Chest in the marsh)
Knight's Proof (Chest in the southeast forest)

Characters:

Xeno  (Joins automatically)
Yuni  (Joins automatically)
Katri (Joins automatically)

Special Events:

Katri goes Super Saiyan (Turn 2)
Katri returns to normal (Turn 4)
Maerhen's troops arrive (Turns 5-8)
Sasha and Holmes talk after the map (Sasha > Holmes +3%)
Zombie reinforcements from southeast (Turns 10-15)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter shouldn't be too challenging. The chests are just annoying to
reach, since only Yuni can open them.

Xeno, Yuni and Katri will join from the start. Xeno is a great unit, with
good growths. He also learns some nifty skills when he levels up.
Yuni is your first Thief, she can pick chests and doors, and has a chance to
snag items from enemies. She has no Strength at all, but she doesn't need it
to be useful.
Katri is a Priest just like Enteh but can Transform (as you'll see later on)
to become an invincible unit with great attacks at her disposal.

Let Yuni snag the chests while Xeno deals with the zombies around their
starting position. Move several strong units up to deal with the pirates
that arrive, and you could move units that you want to train to the southeast
forest. Reinforcements will arrive there, and among them are Mummies which
give boatloads of experience.

Katri will transform on Turn 2, she'll be uncontrollable for two turns. She
can be controlled during future transformations, and will stay transformed
longer. After Turn 4, if you want to transform her again, use the Ring of
Salia in her inventory.

After a set number of turns in her alternate form, Katri will revert to her
original form before the enemy moves, leaving her vulnerable, so be sure to
let her revert to her original form when unneeded. Enemies won't attack
transformed Katri because they can't damage her at all.

When Maerhen's Pirates arrive, concentrate on the Thieves first if you want
the chests, since these guys will open it, get the item and flee the map. The
other pirates aren't very threatening.

When you're done collecting all the chests, move Runan to visit the fort that
Holmes and Shigen are in.

I) Route Split 1                                                      [RST.1]
_____________________________________________________________________________

This is the first of three route splits, where your army will be divided into
two, going into either Holmes or Runan's squad. You need to have specific
units present in either squad to unlock special events.

Note: Roger and Mel must be in the same squad. If they are assigned to
different squads, both of them will be transferred to Runan's squad.

You can switch between groups to transfer items with the Select button. You
can also divide up your gold between the two groups (select the third
option, below the 'divide' option. I recommend leaving a few gold bags
with Runan and giving Holmes' group some more gold.

You'd want to be able to raise 10,000G for the Dragon Flute in Runan's route.
Half of your money will get stolen, so bring along the bags so you can gather
up the gold.

========================

=====================================
Recommended characters for each group
=====================================

|============|===========|
| Runan      |    Holmes |
|============|===========|
| Sasha      |     Arkis |
| Plum       |    Kriess |
| Raffin     |     Barts |
| Zeek       |      Vega |
| Kate       |    Mahter |
| Norton     |      Xeno |
| Sasha      |      Yuni |
|            |      Garo |
|            |     Roger |
|            |       Mel |
|            |    Maruju |
|============|===========|

The other characters can be in either group. All of Runan's chapters are
outdoor, so mounted units do better there. Holmes' has more indoor chapters,
so foot units may be more desirable.

Lee should be put in Holmes' group, as he makes the first few chapters much
easier due to his high Move and great offense. Maruju should go with him in
Holmes' group, as he does better in indoor maps, and more importantly nets
you the powerful Sylpheed tome.

Narron should be in Runan's, but he can go either route. He trivialises
Runan's chapters, and performs great in the outdoor maps due to his horse.
He can deal with the many powerful enemies, and can gain more EXP in Runan's
route as he isn't constantly falling behind.

Feel free to put Arkis and Kriess in any group, they don't need to be in
Holmes' group if you're not recruiting Leteena. If you're not training
Kriess, you probably shouldn't as recruiting Leteena becomes exponentially
harder that way.

Holmes' group can get much more experience than Runan's, so you might want
to bring characters you want to train over to his group.

You might want to give the Sword Breaker over to Holmes' group so that he
can do the forging sidequest.
_____________________________________________________________________________

I) Map 9: Two Paths                                                   [MAP.9]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Guild Key    (Move a Thief onto the space two spaces right of Narcus' initial
             position)
Hellfire     (Defeat Boss)
Steel Shield (After Chapter ends)

Characters:

Meriah (Joins when you enter Marl Port)
Narsus (Joins when you speak to him with Runan, will leave after the map)

Special Events:

Boss changes (Attack the first boss or kill most of the troops)
Secret Shop  (Enter upper-left house with a Guild Key)

Reinforcement Dark Mages
Reinforcement Cavaliers and Bow Knights

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Map with some pretty tough enemies. The Axefighters and Armor Knights have
high Defence, and they hit pretty hard too. The Bow Knight has a Repeating
Bow which is pretty nasty.

Half your team starts out in the desert, I recommend that you deploy Magic or
Flying units there as they suffer no movement penalty in the desert unlike
many other units. The other units can move along the path, but they might
not help out much since they take quite long to reach the team. You should
deploy your strong units at the top squad, they're the closest to the enemy.

Meriah joins before this chapter, she is an excellent unit because of her
two personal tomes, the former being Starlight which she joins with. Starlight
has great power and gives a 30% bonus to avoid which helps a lot. Her second
tome is pretty broken, but I don't want to spoil it for you =)

Anyway, you should try to rush forward, because you have to keep Narcus alive,
he can be killed by Dark Mage or Witch reinforcements coming from the left.
Zeek and Raffin will help a lot, you should have brought the both of them.
Anyone with high strength and a strong weapon will help break through their
high defence. Meriah falls short of one-rounding Armor Knights, so try to
feed her some kills if she can get it.

Watch out for the Bow Knight and the Wood Shooter, and push forward. Dark
Mages will spawn out of the left side and Witches the subsequent turn, Magic
hurts a lot so try to kill them before they do too much damage, or kill
Narsus.

You can choose to recruit Narsus with Runan, he can find the Guild Key by
moving two spaces to the right if you didn't deploy Yuni, who can also find
it. Narcus also can transform into another unit, inheriting their class, but
he's inferior to other units once Transformed, so I recommend against it.

Narcus will steal half your current gold after the chapter if you recruited
him, you will get it back in a later chapter but you might want to retain
the money to purchase a Dragon Flute the next chapter, which is 10000G.
</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
Anyway, if you didn't put Yuni in Runan's team like I suggested, you should
recruit Narcus, the lost gold is pretty minor and shouldn't be too much to
worry about. You still have quite a lot of gold with all the gold bags and
the cash from Welt. You can snag the Guild Key, but the Secret Shop doesn't
sell much of note.

Calvary reinforcements from the 14th squadron will spawn out of the southeast
corner for a few turns, they can pose a threat but are generally weak and
easily dealt with.

The Secret Shop sells Thunder Blades, Sword Breakers, Main Gauches and Far-
Healing Staves. The Main Gauche raises Evade by 20% and has a low weight but
has low attack power, it isn't really worth it. The Far-Healing Staff is
pretty nifty but expensive. Buying anything from the Secret Shop will reduce
your Guild Key uses by 1, so I'd advise against it lest you run out of uses
and cannot use the later Secret Shops.

The Boss is the same guy from Mars Temple, beware of Black Hole. Hellfire
also hits hard, so send a unit with good HP to tank it and beat him into the
ground. Once you're done, let Runan seize the throne.

J) Map 10: Freedom and Righteousness                                 [MAP.10]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Steel Blade  (Defeat Boss)
Dragon Flute (Buy for 10,000G at the L-shaped building)

Characters:

Sharon (Joins when Raffin speaks to her)
Billford (Joins when Sharon speaks to him)
Mintz  (Joins if you seize the throne after he reaches the gate)
Rennie (Joins if Runan seizes the throne before turn 9, or if he seizes it
after turn 9, and Mintz has reached the throne or the boss comes
out. If Mintz reached the throne while the boss is still inside,
she can be recruited in Map 17)

Special Events:

Plum gets kidnapped (Let her visit the bar where Sharon and Raffin have
                    come out of)

Mintz runs toward the gate (Turn 4, you must not have moved into any of the
                           defenders' attack range)

Boss comes out to guard the gate (When you move close to the gate, or Mintz
enters the gate when he is still inside)

Rennie dies (Mintz has not reached the gate on turn 9, boss is still inside)

Raffin promotes (Sharon must have been recruited with Raffin)
               (Raffin > Sharon +5%)

Arkis and Estelle talk, Raffin must be present (Arkis > Estelle +2%)
Runan and Narron talk (Narron > Runan +5%)
Raquel, Ruka, Roger and Mel talk
Norton and Kate talk, Zeek must be present (Norton > Kate +5%)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter is easy, the only enemies you have to contend with are the
mercrenaries guarding the city and the castle defenders. The 15th Squadron
will not attack your characters unless you go into their range.

Ernst is the leader of the 15th Squadron, with Mintz by his side. He has
beastly stats, but won't attack you, he will retreat if you move into the
range of the 15th Squadron.

Mintz is the right-hand man to Ernst, he will not attack unless attacked. To
recruit him, you must wait until he reaches the throne and saves Rennie,
otherwise he will just retreat. Don't move into the castle defenders' attack
range before turn 4, and don't seize the throne before turn 10.

Sharon can be recruited with Raffin, Billford can be recruited with Sharon.
Stay out of their range and move Raffin to recruit Sharon. Once she's
recruited, Raffin can promote to a Dragon Knight after the battle assuming
she survives.

Sharon is a pretty average unit, same goes for Billford. If they turn out
good you might be able to use them, otherwise they are outclassed by other
units.

Let Plum visit the house where Sharon and Billford came out from, but
remember to remove all her stuff before doing so. She will keep Lan's Mirror
if she has it. Plum will get kidnapped but can be recruited again in Holmes'
route.

You should be able to take care of the mercrenaries easily, be careful when
approaching the swordfighter as he has a Sword Breaker. Move close to the
castle, but don't move into the attack range of the troops before Mintz gets
to the castle gate.

When Mintz gets to the castle gate, Rennie will escape and he will be thrown
into prison. The boss will guard the gate. Now's your cue to kill off the
defenders and get rid of the boss. He has crappy stats but hits hard, so
try not to let fragile units get into his melee range.

Once you're done, seize the throne.

If you get into the range of the castle defenders before turn 4, Mintz will
retreat. If you get into their range during turns 4-9, the boss will come
out, and when Mintz reaches the throne he will save Rennie, and both can
be recruited. Mintz can have an increased support level with Rennie if you
follow the method above and recruit Rennie in Chapter 17.

If Mintz doesn't reach the throne before turn 10, and the boss does not
come out, Rennie will die.

After the map, Raffin will converse with Sharon if both of them are alive.
Raffin can promote into a Dragon Knight if you select the first option, and
this is recommended (I don't really see how this can be bad =/). Raffin can
use Lances while on foot once he promotes, and can fly, which makes him
a great unit.

This concludes Runan's chapters for now, the next series of chapters will
feature Holmes and his team.

K) Map 11: The Mage of Leda                                          [MAP.11]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Open all Chests

Items Obtainable:

Hero Proof     (Chest)
Silver Sword   (Defeat Boss)
Leather Shield (Defeat Enemy)

Characters:

Shigen (Joins before the map)
Samson (Joins automatically)
Alicia (Joins automatically)

Special Events:

Reinforcements come out (Turns 4-6)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: There are several more events where you can obtain stuff, I'll deal with
those in Map 12, as you need to go to the Welt mainland to obtain
them, and you'd have to contend with some annoying encounters, as well
as going back to finish Map 11.
Map 11 can be skipped, you can go straight to Map 12 but you'd miss out
on items and two awesome characters.

You might want to pick up Sylpheed and Lee if you haven't gotten him
yet, he makes this map a whole lot easier.

You can use Holmes now, he is a great unit, with Lockpick allowing him to
function as a Thief. He is locked to Bows, but it isn't that bad in a game
where you have broken bows like the Gatling Bow and the Arvanrest. You're
forced to use him either way.

Shigen joins you immediately, he is another swordfighter but with good growths
in Strength, and he has the sword Dullahan which automatically ressurects him
when he dies, and gives him 10 EXP for doing so. Shigen will use up one use
of the Dullahan though, and it is quite heavy, so it will cut his Speed.

Once you're on the world map, you can access the encounter with Zombies and
repeat it over and over again for near-infinite experience. It is tedious
and takes the difficulty out of the game so I suggest you don't do it.

When you've reached Sora Port, Maerhen will send out his troops to chase after
you. I suggest you don't approach Maerhen, as fighting him starts Map 12,
and you can miss out on the stuff from Map 11. Maerhen will continue to
send more enemies at you, so if you get all the stuff on the island then
continue with Map 11, you'd have to contend with more of these guys,
so go straight to Map 11.

Map 11 is located at the hideout near Barts and Plum's village. You will
fight an encounter once you reach there, dispatch the enemies and continue on.

Once you've entered the map, Samson will be protecting Alicia from the
Brigands. He can survive long enough to give you ample time to reach Alicia,
try to get to him as soon as possible lest he gets swarmed by reinforcements.

Samson is one of the best Axe-wielding units, he has high stats all around
with great Agility, which helps negate the high weight of Axes somewhat. He
can double with the lighter Axes, and he has great HP and Defence which
makes him a great tank.

Alicia has average stats like most of the other mages, but her personal tome,
Brenthunder, demolishes everything. It hits twice, and that alone can demolish
most enemies in the game. She is frail though, but Brenthunder is very
sweet.

The Pirates here can pose some problems with their high defence, but Garo can
help out, and Katri transformed can demolish them. Give Steel Swords to your
guys so you can hurt the pirates, their speed is gimped by the high weight
of axes anyway.

There will be bow-users sniping through the hallway, you might want to use
Katri to get rid of them.

Reinforcements will stream out, try to block the paths they come out from.
Arches will start to target Samson, keep him just below Alicia so only one
can attack at a time. He can't kill the Archers in one round.

Kill the Archers, and unlock the cell where Alicia is locked in with Holmes
or Yuni. Only the boss should be left, make your way to his hiding place.

The boss and his other companion hit hard, and so you should try to kill them
with Ranged Attacks. Alicia can one-round the boss with Brenthunder so that
shouldn't cause too many problems. Once you're done, get the chest to end the
map.

M) Map 12: The Youth of Blood                                        [MAP.12]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Shield Sword      (Defeat Swordfighter holding it)
Hammer            (Defeat Pirate holding it)
Wind              (Defeat Bishop)
Far-Healing Staff (Defeat Boss)

Characters:

Lionel  (Choose from Duke Marlon)
Lee     (Choose from Duke Marlon)
Ezekiel (Choose from Duke Marlon)
Narron  (Choose from Duke Marlon)
Ruka    (Choose from Duke Marlon)
Attrom  (Joins automatically)

Special Events:

Mel recieves a Magic Staff (Mars Temple, only if Roger & Mel are in the party)
Maruju recieves Sylpheed   (Mars Temple, only if Maruju is in the party)

Arkis and Kriess meet Leteena (Verge, only if both are in the party)

Select another of Duke Marlon's men (Kingdom of Welt, only if Sasha, Kate,
Raffin, Estelle, Norton or Roger are
                                    in your team)

Summoner Boss appears (End of Turn 2)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can move around the Kingdom of Welt to activate all the events listed
above. Along the way you will have to fight several encounters involving
Maerhen's men.

You can choose another of Duke Marlon's men to aid you. However, Lionel,
the guy you freed after Map 7, can be chosen, replacing the character that
you chose when you entered Verge after Map 1.

Lionel is a pretty good character, he is one of the few that can use Lances
indoors and has okay growths. I'd recommend him, you should however choose
Ezekiel if you're planning on recruiting Leteena. Lee is also a solid choice
if you haven't get him, and definitely get Narron if you haven't grabbed him
by now.

You have to rush the enemies in this map, otherwise you'd get swarmed by them.
Attrom joins from the start, he's like Xeno but with slightly better growths
and losing several skills. He does have a support with Lyria so that might
come in handy. He can't hurt much in this map though, you have to give him
a better weapon to actually do damage.

First, get Attrom away from the pirates. It is very important to keep him
alive as you can recruit a great character in a later chapter using him.
Rush the pirates, and note the Swordfighter with the Shield Sword, it
randomly raises Defence by 1-20 so use Magic to kill him.

The Boss will appear at the end of turn 2, he will summon Harpies if you let
him, try to get rid of him ASAP, then seize the throne.

Buy a few Bridge Keys, they will come in handy in later chapters.

_____________________________________________________________________________

N) Map 13: The Sea Serpent                                           [MAP.13]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Defeat Maerhen

Items Obtainable:

Thunder Sword (Kill Swordfighter holding it)
Healing Fruit (Kill Bishop)

Characters:

Krisheenu (Joins when you board Maerhen's ship)
Maerhen   (Joins after the chapter)

Special Events:

Renee gets pushed off the ship, Krisheenu joins (Board Maerhen's ship)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The pirates here have high defence but are very inaccurate. When you board
Maerhen's ship, Krisheenu will join the team. You should keep her alive, as
there is a special event you can do with her. Otherwise, she is a subpar unit
with bad growths.

Krisheenu comes with the Main Gauche which raises evasion by 20%, this will
help her survive the blows, and her Amulets and Herbs will help her hold out.
You should aim for Maerhen and complete this map ASAP.

There is a Summoner that summons Harpies on the left side of the map, you can
leave him alone as the Harpies aren't much of a threat. Maerhen can be
one-shotted by Brenthunder, if you want to use melee attacks you'd have
to break his shield first.

Once the chapter is over, Katri saves Maerhen and he joins the party. He'd
be better off dead, as he has a horrible skill, Mug, which decreases the
hit and avoid of party members in a 3-square radius by 50%. It allows
you to take an enemy's stuff once you've killed him, but Maerhen can't kill
much with his horrible stats and growths. Maerhen can pick locks, which
somewhat redeems him... I guess.

_____________________________________________________________________________

O) Map 14: The Hero Holmes                                           [MAP.14]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Healing Fruit (Kill Pirate)
Gold Bag      (Kill Thief)
Gold Bag      (Kill Thief)
Gold Bag      (Kill Thief)
Killing Edge  (Kill Swordfighter)
Repair Hammer (Lower-left house)
Super Proof   (Middle house)
Hero Proof    (House below L-Shaped house)

Characters:

Plum (Rejoins when either Holmes or Barts enters the L-shaped house)

Special Events:

Plum gets the Dance skill (After she rejoins)
Visit northeast house, select first option (Lose 600G, Luck + 1, Uncurses
                                           weapons)
Choose 5 items (After Map ends)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you're done with Map 13, if you wish to unlock the next part of the
Leteena event, you must visit Verge again, Kriess must have a Healing Drop
in his inventory.

There will be several events if Krisheenu, Shigen and Vega are present. To
activate the subsequent event, deploy all three of them in Map 14.

This chapter is very easy, just clean up the enemies and move on. You can
get Plum again if she was kidnapped in Map 10 by letting Holmes or Barts
enter the house. Plum will join with the Dance skill which allows her to
refresh an adjacent unit, as well as having a chance to give them a buff.
This can only be seen after Plum has danced quite a few times.

After you've seized the throne, Holmes will speak to the village chief, and
you will have many items to choose from, but you can only pick 5:

          | MHP Plus     | Hellfire     |
          |--------------|--------------|

You should go for the promotion items - the Saint Proof, Knight Proof and
Hero Proof, as well as the Elixir. I'd recommend the Far-Healing Staff or
the Repeater Bow for your last item.

There are weapon craftsmen in the next chapter who will make special items
if you come with specific ingredients that are needed. See the Forging
section, [FORG], for more details.

Buy a few Door Keys as well, they will come in handy much later on.

_____________________________________________________________________________

P) Map 15: City of the Plains                                        [MAP.15]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Visit Mansion

Items Obtainable:

None

Characters:

Frau  (Joins when Mahter speaks to her, or if she is alive at the end of the
      chapter)
Sun   (Joins when Frau speaks to her or if she is alive at the end of the
      chapter)
Lyria (Joins when Attrom visits the church, long building with a steeple)

Special Events:

City Fighter, Arena Fighter, Mountain Fighter, Plains Fighter, Forest
Fighter, Sea Fighter, Frontier Fighter, Anti-Evil skills
(Blue houses all over the city, each has unlimited uses and requires 7000G
to learn)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 15 is a very easy chapter since you can just recruit Frau with Mahter
and Sun with Frau. Sun and Frau are the only enemies on the map.

If you haven't got Mahter, you can send a couple of tanky units forward and
visit the mansion, they will not counterattack when Sun or Frau attacks them.

Have Attrom visit the church to get Lyria. Lyria is like Plum except she has
Sing instead of Dance, which heals a bit of HP and has a chance to let
characters move again. However, the latter is very rare unless Lyria has
a support with said character. Lyria's sing can range from a radius of 1 to
4 depending on the number of times she sang.

You can get the fighter skills here and on the world map (select shops and
the second option). 7000G is too much to ask for skills that don't come
into use often, so it isn't worth it.

After this map, you can go to Verge to activate the next part of the Leteena
event. Kriess must have an Amulet in his inventory.

Yuni will give Lyria a Power Staff after the battle.

_____________________________________________________________________________

P) Map 16: Dark Beasts                                               [MAP.16]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Open all chests

Items Obtainable:

Knight's Proof (Chest at northeast corner)
Hero Proof     (Chest at northwest corner)
Saint Proof    (Chest in Marsh)
Repair Staff   (Chest in forest, on the same
square as the boss)
Gatling Bow    (Chest in southwest corner)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

Yuni gives Lyria a Power Staff (Move onto Ligria Fort, both must be present)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To get to Chapter 16, move north onto Ligria Fort and into the cavern behind
it.

Chapter 16 is the most annoying chapter in the game, period. The eyeballs
(they look like something else entirely) can split into two, this will
decrease both halves' HP by 2. The eyeballs are very fast and if your units
miss, they might end up getting doubled. The giant 'ball in the middle can
spawn 4 eyeballs at a time, so you'd be getting swarmed by the floating
eyeballs while still having to collect chests =(

Katri will help a lot here, not much else to say than 'go in and kill stuff'.
Your movement will be restricted by the swamp, and the eyeballs have a lot
of time to divide so you could be facing against 20 or more eyeballs.

The boss 'ball revives when it dies, so take care not to expose your
characters to danger. You might want to bring Yuni to open chests, or if
you're really desperate Maerhen.

The boss is pretty tough and hits hard, you should use Katri's AoE Breath to
shave off its HP then finish it off with Brenthunder or a similar hard-hitting
attack. Alternatively you can send in Shigen with the Dullahan, he'll most
likely double it and he will be revived if he dies.

Holmes' story stops here, the next few chapters will be Runan's chapters.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Q) Map 17: The Hero of the Plains                                    [MAP.17]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Thunder Sword (House near starting position)
Saint's Proof (East House)
Quick Rain    (Kill Ballista)
Salia Tome    (Kill Duke Boss)
SKL Plus      (Kill Sword Knight)
Hero Proof    (Kill Axe Knight)
Hand Spear    (Kill Lance Knight)

Characters:

Rennie (Joins if Mintz enters the southeast house, provided she has not
joined in the last chapter or is still alive)
Shirou (Joins after chapter if he survives)

Special Events:

Plains Figher (Visit Blue House, one time only)

Thief reinforcements appear from north (Turns 3-10)
Neyfa appears from the north           (Turn 11)
Maruju recieves the Reeve Tome         (Go back to Free City Sene after
                                       map)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have to rush this chapter if you want to get the stuff from the fleeing
Duke and his cronies. You should aim for the Salia Tome and the Hero Proof
at least.

Lionheart, Shirou and a few other Bow Knights will help you out here. Their
Bows can't hurt much though, the most they'll do is kill off the bandit
reinforcements for you. Try not to let Shirou die, he can't be recruited
later on if so. Its quite hard for the horsemen to die, they will retreat
and heal whenever their HP dips below maximum. Lionheart can be recruited
later on, if he dies he will retreat so don't worry too much.

The Duke and the knights all have shields so try to bust them before
attempting further attacks. Move Mintz over to the southeast village to
recruit Rennie if she hasn't been recruited yet.

Rennie has great growth rates all around and can learn Elite at level 9
allowing her to level quickly. Being locked to Bows isn't as detrimental
as several other Fire Emblem games since there aren't as many enemies here
and there are several broken bows, namely the Gatling Bow and the
Arvanrest. She also has high Movement growth (10%), which will come in
handy.

You can get Quick Rain from the Ballista, only Wood Shooters can use it though
and it isn't very accurate and damaging on a whole.

You should aim to move Runan to the throne ASAP, since on turn 11 Neyfa will
come out and devastate everything. Well, not really since her small breath
only does 11 damage and may not double. Don't attack her though, she's
invincible just like Katri.

Once you've seized the throne, Shirou will join you if he survived this
map. Shirou is pretty average, and his stats are nerfed somewhat indoors.
He gets access to Swords after promotion but can't use them indoors. I can't
really recommend him.

Maruju will recieve the Reeve Tome if he is in your team, it is the
counterpart to the Salia Tome boosting growths for different stats. Give
the Tomes to someone with subpar growth rates that you want to use or just
slap it on someone that may benefit from it.

_____________________________________________________________________________

R) Map 18: The Dark Forest                                           [MAP.18]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Re-Move Book (Mintz enters northwest house)
Hero Proof   (Visit southeast house)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

Barbarossa kills himself, all troops under him retreat
(Turn 30 OR if he is defeated)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter is pretty hard if you want to attack Barbarossa head on. For
those who can't, there is an alternate strategy.

Firstly, there are three Summoners, the northeast summons Trolls, the
middle summons Harpies and the southeast summons Zombies. These are majorly
annoying, especially when you have to deal with Barbarossa's men.

Barbarossa, the boss of this chapter, has many Archers and Catapults under
his command. Any mounted flying unit will die pretty quickly, and fragile
units are at risk. Your best bet is to send out someone like Zeek to
kill off his army then go in and finish them off with your other characters.

Barbarossa is very strong, he is vulnerable to magic although he can hold
out with his Magic Shield and high evasion. He has 13 Speed meaning that
he will double a lot of stuff, and you can't rely on critical hits to kill
him because his crit evasion is high as well. Try to wear down his Magic
Shield, hope that your Magic and weapons can hit him through his beastly
evade and gate bonus.

If you manage to kill Barbarossa, all the troops will retreat and you're free
to seize the throne. There's not much else I can say except be careful not
to put any of your units at risk, the enemies here can rush a unit and
overwhelm it if you're complacent.

There is another way, just hide out in the forests away from the city. If you
can hold out against the summons (easier than dealing with Barbarossa's team
and the summoned monsters at the same time), Barbarossa will kill himself
on turn 30, leaving the throne open to seize and removing all his troops.

_____________________________________________________________________________

S) Map 19: Reunion                                                   [MAP.19]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Silver Axe        (Right L-shaped house)
Far-Healing Staff (Upper Right House)
Bolganon          (Upper Left House)

Characters:

Loffaru (Talk to with Runan or Sasha)

Special Events:

Sasha talks to Loffaru (+3 Luck to Sasha)
Runan talks to Loffaru (Runan recieves Mainstar)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are 3 Summoners in this map, which means you get to face off against
more monsters =/

Anyway, there are Gargoyles in this map, which have high speed and decent
attack power, so they can pose a threat. You should aim to take down the boss
ASAP because he has Bau Crash which deals nasty AoE damage, from 2-5 range.
The Dark Mages also can cause problems so you should prioritise them over
others.

Loffaru is all the way at the top of the map, he can cope by himself unless
he breaks his weapon. Loffaru's class is awesome, 4 weapon types and great
stat caps (comparable to Gold Knights') but his stats are not. He doesn't
have good growths or great enough starting stats to be worth using over
others, and unless you pump him with stat boosters / RNG abuse he isn't going
to turn out good.

If Runan talks to Loffaru, he will recieve the Mainstar which is effective
against armored units and absorbs HP, and can be used by anyone provided
their WLv. is high enough.

If Sasha speaks to Loffaru she will recieve 3 Luck. You can initiate both
conversations, Loffaru will still have the option to talk with either
character after he is recruited.

This is the last map where you can use Zeek, but don't worry, his stuff will
be automatically sent to storage. Once you're done, seize the throne. This
concludes Runan's chapters for now, the next series of chapters will be
Holmes'.

_____________________________________________________________________________

T) Map 20: Frontier Battle                                           [MAP.20]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Point

Items Obtainable:

WLv. Plus  (House in Aerial Mountains)
Save Staff (Chest beneath boss eyeball)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

Gargoyle reinforcements (from the caverns, turns 5-15)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have to fight through several random encounters to get to the next
chapter. You will also have to go through the Aerial Caves which have random
chests and enemies. These encounters don't end until you have opened all the
chests.

After you've passed through the south and the north aerial caves, you can
move onto the chapter itself.

This chapter is pretty straightforward, you should aim to get Holmes to the
seize point at the left of the map ASAP otherwise you're going to get swarmed
by gargoyles and eyeballs, which are extremely annoying as their speed is
high.

Watch out for the two Dracozombies around there, and once you're done seize
the throne.

Alternatively, you can try to go for the Save Staff. Just hold out until
the end of turn 15, when the Gargoyles stop reinforcing, then move your
units down to beat the giant eyeball and get the chest beneath it. Unless
your lockpickers have Frontier Fighter or you give a Chest Key to a flier,
its going to be tedious to get there =P

_____________________________________________________________________________

U) Map 21: Demon Dragon Guranion                                     [MAP.21]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Open all Chests

Items Obtainable:

Dakuron   (Upper-Right Chest)
Dolharken (Lower-Right Chest)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

Dark Soldier reinforcements, Guranion retreats (Turn 5)
Sennet, Neyfa, Alfred, Katina, Temzin, Richard, Verna, Silva, Reshie and
Tia appear as NPCs (Turn 6)

Sun speaks to Silva      (None)
Holmes speaks to Richard (None)
Alicia speaks to Alfred  (Alicia gets Sylpheed)
Samson speaks to Katina  (Samson gets Hero Axe)
Samson speaks to Temzin  (None)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, first off the Dragon can't be hurt by normal weaponry, due to the
Dragon Scale it holds.

You have to distract the Dragon for 5 turns, then it will retreat. There are
a few ways to do so:

1) Katri

- She is invincible and thus can't be touched by the Dragon - she won't
revert to her normal form before the 5 turns are up

2) Shigen

- Shigen can wield the Dullahan which revives him when he dies and gives him
10 EXP to boot. This is probably the best use of the Dullahan since most
of the time its too heavy to be used, but it's up to you.

3) Defence Staff

- This isn't really viable, but the Defence Staff can allow one of your
characters to take a hit from the Dragon and survive. They can then
spam Healing Fruits or get healed by Far-Healing Staffs so that they
can survive the next Breath. Useful if you want to get Holmes up to the
chests while the Dragon's still there, but it's extremely risky.

Anyway, just use Katri to distract the Dragon. Once the turns are up, there
will be a boatload of reinforcements streaming out from the corners of the
map. Just stay at the bottom-right corner and defend against the
rushing enemies for now.

On turn 6, Sennet and crew will appear and smash these guys into the ground.
They all have overpowered weapons some of which you'd get to use later on
=) Sennet and his squad also have great stats that allow them to demolish
the enemies with ease.

Have Samson speak to Katina to recieve the Hero Axe, Alicia with Alfred to
recieve Sylpheed.

Once you've looted the chests for the Dakuron and Dolharken, the former a
key item, the chapter will end and the troops will retreat.

_____________________________________________________________________________

V) Map 22: General Zachariah                                         [MAP.22]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Defeat Zachariah

Items Obtainable:

None

Characters:

Zachariah (Joins after the map)
Lionheart (Joins after the map)

Special Events:

See Map 15

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter isn't too hard provided you can survive the initial wave of
enemies. Bow Knights will come over and snipe at you, and the Armor Knights
as usual can take quite a few hits.

Zachariah is very strong, with a respectable Agility of 11 and 18 Defence he
is hard to take down. Magic will fry him though, and he is weak to
Armorslayers and the like. He hits very hard so take care when approaching
him.

Lionheart most likely won't die unless you deliberately ignore him, so don't
worry about that.

Lionheart and Zachariah will join you after the chapter. Both are excellent
when they join but have subpar growth rates. You should use them but try not
to let them snatch all the kills and experience.

W) Map 23: A Girl's Tears                                            [MAP.23]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Defeat Ahab

Items Obtainable:

Hero Sword (Defeat Ahab)

Characters:

Bud    (Joins on Turn 6 if you talked to Narcus in Map 3 with Runan, and
       if he survived Map 9)
Rishel (Talk to him with Bud)

Special Events:

Bud arrives from northeast corner (Turn 6)
Pegasus Knight reinforcements from city             (Turns 1 - 4)
Pegasus Knight reinforcements from southeast corner (Turns 3 and 6)
Bow Knight reinforcements from northwest            (Turn 5 and 9)
Sierra appears to rescue Shigen                     (If Shigen dies)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This map can prove to be challenging because of the swarms of Pegasus Knight
reinforcements all of which can attack from 1-2 range. Lionheart and
Zachariah can help out a lot here. You also need to deal with the Armors
and Axe Knights.

You must have Shigen die here or the subsequent encounter at the Sealed Bridge
to recruit Sierra in Map 14. Shigen won't be gone for good, so feel free to
kill him off.

Be careful not to go within 5 spaces of Rishel, he can attack you with Meteor
and potentially bust his tome. There will be Bow Knight reinforcements
coming in addition to the Pegasus Knight reinforcements, watch out for
them.

Bud will come on Turn 6, be careful not to move her into Rishel's Meteor
range, or let her get hit by the Bow Knight reinforcements that spawn just
before she reaches Rishel. Recruit Rishel with Bud.

Bud is just another Thief, crappy at combat but worth it for Stealing and
picking locks. Bud gets Elite at level 10 and Dragon Saint (O.O) at level 40,
so I suppose she can be good if you abuse random encounters and stuff.

Rishel is an excellent unit because of his personal tome, Sunflame. It has
a high Weight, but it gives Rishel a boost of 10 to his defence, meaning at
base level he already has 16 defence, which is pretty crazy (Zachariah has
18). He isn't as good without Sunflame though, but it does have 70 uses,
enough to spam it until the end of the game.

Before you move onto the Sealed Bridge, put the stuff you want to transfer
to Runan's team onto a unit you don't use. The route split is coming up
soon, and you can't transfer stuff from Holmes' team to Runans' without
doing this.

Runan's team would appreciate the Gatling Bow and Sylpheed, although they
don't really need it until the final chapters.

The other members can be in any group. You have to defeat a tough boss with
either Vega or Julia to get the Rukuud, so if you've trained Julia but not
Vega, you might want to send her over to Holmes' group instead. If you don't
have Ruka, Raquel can go in either group.

You can also put Bud or Yuni in Runan's group if you need an extra hand
finding Desert items. Runan's group has a desert chapter, while Holmes'
group just passes over it and the items are awarded. They also help loads
in Chapter 26b, so if you're going there you should pick one of them to
go with Runan.

I'd recommend putting some of your stronger combatants in Runan's route,
since it's a little tougher. Holmes' route has more EXP as always, so you
might want to send over the units you're training there.

You can switch between the two groups at any time by moving your cursor over
and selecting them. I'll be going over Runan's chapters first, then Holmes'.

Special Events:

Boss and a reinforcement Soldier arrive (Turn 5)
Thief appears from the southeast corner (Turn 7)
Bow Knight reinforcements (Turns 10-15)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This map is rather troublesome as there are lots of Stonehenges on the right
side of the river. Although they are inaccurate, they do loads of damage and
their animation takes a long time to resolve. Keep your fliers out of the
way, as they will get one-shotted.

You can either choose to rush the map from the bottom, or lower the north
bridge and attack from there. You don't have to face the platoon in the
south, or get sniped by the Stonehenges if you go the north path. However,
you do need to use two Bridge Keys, which you should probably save for
later chapters.

If you have strong units, rush the south path. Rishel can snipe the
Stonehenges with Meteor or Sunflame, and do good amounts of damage to the
rest of the troops. Meriah can hit the whole map with Aura Rain, but it can
only be used once every two turns.

Almost all the units have Iron Shields, so they'll take some time to take
down. Beware of the Gatling Bow wood shooter, try to get him on Player
Phase so he doesn't have a chance to attack your units.

The boss is rather easy, he'll go down without too much trouble. Look out
for the Stonehenges along the way though, and try to get rid of them as
quickly as you can.

(If you take the upper gate, you go to Map 26a.
If you take the lower gate, you go to Map 26b.)

Items Obtainable:

Taking co-ordinates from the bottom-right corner:

Guilty Heart (22,1)
Re-Move Book (9,8)
Super Proof  (11,1)
MHP Plus     (14,11)

MAG Plus     (12,6)
SKL Plus     (13,2)
AGI Plus     (16,7)
LUK Plus     (7,6)
DEF Plus     (22,11)

Have either Narcus, Bud or Yuni stand on these squares to obtain the item.

Characters:

Narcus  (Talk to him with Runan, only if you talked to him in Map 9 and
visited the house with him in Map 3)
Rebecca (Visit the house at the bottom)
Leteena (Kill Marco with Kreiss, then visit the house at the bottom
        with Kriess)

(Note: You can only recruit Leteena if you've already completed all the
steps needed to recruit her)

Special Events:

None

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can choose to go to Map 26a or Map 26b after this. Map 26a is an outdoor
map, and is easier than 26b. It's also easier to recruit Rina in 26a, so you
should probably aim for that one. The gate at the upper-right goes to 26a,
the lower-right gate goes to 26b.

Foot units have their movement limited by the desert, and mounted units take
an even heavier penalty. They're forced to dismount to move in the desert,
and suffer stat penalties as a result. Only Flyers and Mages can move
unhindered.

You can choose to trek through the desert, or go through the north bit.
Keep in mind at multiple points in the wall, your cavaliers are forced to
dismount to continue on. I'd recommend you go through the desert, as it's
more painless that way.

Either way, Runan has to trek through the desert to recruit Narcus, and
you should probably grab a few treasures with him as well. The Agi Plus,
Re-Move Book and Super Proof are probably the most valuable. Guilty Heart
teaches Mug, which is a pretty bad skill even on someone not named Maerhen,
so you should ditch it.

To recruit Rebecca, just visit the house she's in. Rebecca is just another
cleric, she can serve as an extra healer but that's all she's good at.

Kriess needs to trek through the desert and kill Marco, the blonde Dragon
Knight, so that he can recruit Leteena. He should use the Thunder Sword
to take down Marco, it bypasses his shield. However, he only has 2 move in
the desert even when dismounted and promoted, so it's going to take a while.

Leteena is just another cleric like Rebecca, except that she has the
Silence Staff, which disables the magic of 3-7 random enemies for a few
turns. Leteena will leave after the third Route Split - however, you can
prevent this by having Ezekiel in your party, or killing her off and reviving
her in Holmes' route.

All the Dragon Knights have Shields, get support from each other and they
all aggro at the same time, so it's going to be tough to take them down.
Rishel can sponge their attacks and counter with Sunflame, so he's your
best bet. Shields work well for taking their hits.

The Dragon Knights start moving when you get in range of their leader.
They can't see Sunflame's defense boost, meaning they will target Rishel
over someone else with higher base defense. You can stay out of Marco's
range, aggro with Rishel and clean up the next turn.

Try to hit them hard on enemy phase, so that they'll be easier
to take down on Player Phase. Once one of them goes down, they lose their
support bonuses.

The General boss is nothing to write home about, but he does move, so keep
that in mind.

Characters:

Rina (Visit the Third house from the left, on the top row with Arkis or
     Kriess)

Special Events:

6 reinforcement troops come from the east side (Turns 2, 3, 7, 8)
6 bandits arrive from the east side (Turn 4)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are quite a few hidden enemies in this chapter, and you can't target or
kill them. There are ballistae hidden in all the rows of shrubbery, a Meteor
caster hidden at the top row and two Stonehenges along the middle row. They
aren't too threatening, as your units can take a few hits by now, and they
have poor accuracy.

However, you do have to take a few hits as you're moving along the map, so
position Enteh and Rebecca or Leteena at the starting point and have them
provide support with Far-Healing Staffs. Recruiting Rina is a little tricky
if you haven't trained Arkis and Kreiss. You can put them at the top slot
so that they can recruit Rina on the first turn, then run away. They should
only have to take one hit.

Rina has absolutely horrible base stats at this point, and one of the lowest
Strength growths in the game. She has great movement and is one of the few
units with Movement growth, but she is a bad combat unit. She isn't worth the
effort.

Renshien, the boss, is pretty pathetic. He is pretty easy to take down with
either Julia or Vega. The Rukuud has 80 base crit, so it's probably better
to weaken Renshien from range then finish him off.

Runan promotes at the end of this chapter. This concludes the Runan chapters
for now.

Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne

Items Obtainable:

MOV Plus     (Chest at the top-right corner)
Knight Proof (Left chest at the bottom-right corner)
Super Proof  (Right chest at the bottom-right corner)
Thief Sword  (Kill Swordfighter)
Gold Bag     (One for each bandit in the lower-left jail cell, 7 in total)
Rukuud       (Kill Renshien with Vega or Julia)

Characters:

Rina  (Open the right jail cell at the lower-left corner)
Arkis (Have Rina speak to him)

Special Events:

4 Dark Knights come from the east side (Turns 3 to 6)
NPCs turn into bandits (Open door to lower-left jail cell)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

26b is a harder map than 26a, but it's much more rewarding. First off, Arkis
will leave the party to go rescue Rina. He takes on the guise of a Dark
Knight, and will attack you on sight. Arkis is the northmost Dark Knight,
you can tell as his stats are different and he may have different skills
as well.

Arkis will attack you on sight, so watch out. You might want to leave a few
meatshields, or steal away his weapon with the Thief Sword you get from one
of the swordfighters.

To get Arkis back, you have to recruit Rina by opening her cell. Then, have
her speak to Arkis to get him back on the team. If it's too hard, you can
kill Arkis, but keep in mind he can't be revived if he's killed like this.

There are many swordfighters with Thief Swords, which can steal any item or
weapon you have equipped. However, what they can't steal is * weapons like
Sunflame, Mainstar and Starlight. Just use units like Rishel to deal with
them so that they don't pilfer away your weapons.

The middle room is covered, and there are two Bishops and three Archers
behind the walls. Keep one space away from the walls, so that you won't eat</pre><pre id="faqspan-4">
a Gatling Bow shot, or get hit by the 5 AoE Tornado. You can't counter them
unless you've opened the door at the far end, so keep that in mind.

The lower-left cell houses many bandits disguised as NPCs. They all have
Gold Bags, so you can open the cell and go to town on them.

The boss, Renshien, has a scary Swordmaster guard beside him. The Swordmaster
has a Hero Sword, and moves, and he also has high Agility. Be careful that
he doesn't kill one of your units. Renshien is quite the pushover, although
Rukuud has 80 base Crit, so keep that in mind. You can wear him down at
range and then finish him off with Julia or Vega to get the Rukuud.

Runan promotes at the end of this chapter. This concludes the Runan chapters
for now.

AD) Map 27: Sea Lion                                                [MAP.27]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Kill everything and grab all the treasure

Items Obtainable:

Super Proof       (Leftmost chest, beneath the boss)
Far-Healing Staff (Second chest from the left)
Steel Shield      (Third chest from the left)
Arvanrest         (Rightmost chest)

Characters:

Sierra (Joins before the chapter)

Special Events:

Lionheart and Plum talk  (+10% to Lionheart > Plum support, +10% to Plum >
                         Lionheart support)
Xeno and Yuni at Oaks    (+15% to Xeno > Yuni support, +15% to Yuni > Xeno
                         support)
Lyria and Attrom at Oaks (+5% to Lyria > Attrom support, +5% to
                         Attrom > Lyria support)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sierra joins the party, and Shigen comes back as well. Sierra is a Witch,
and she has the ability to Warp anywhere on the map. Her stats are average,
but Warp is extremely useful. She can use Sylpheed at base, giving her
great offense.

Along the way to the East sea, you can go back to the caves in the north
and get some experience if you feel the need, although you probably won't
need it. The Xeno / Yuni and Lyria / Attrom events are mutually exclusive,
and to get the Xeno / Yuni event, pick the second option. The first option
will trigger the Lyria / Attrom event.

Anyway, move all the way back to the first island, then head east to begin
this chapter.

This chapter is pretty easy, all you have to do is beat up a few scrubby
units on the deck of the enemy ship. The chapter won't end until you've
pilfered all the chests, so beat everything up and make off with the loot.

The boss and the enemies are nothing to write home about, by now you should
be able to deal with them easily.

Conditions For Winning: Kill the boss

Items Obtainable:

Master Sword (dropped by the boss)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

Dragon Knight reinforcements arrive at the top of the map   (Turn 5)
Soldier reinforcements arrive from the far left of the deck (Turns 6-20)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter isn't too hard either, but beware the Ballistae at both sides
of the map. They are pretty dangerous to the more fragile units in your
team.

Sierra can reach the rightmost Ballista and subdue it, giving your units
more breathing room. Try to get the map done before Turn 5, otherwise the
Dragon Knight reinforcements will show up. They are a pain to deal with
because your movement is limited on the deck. If they show up, play defensive
and make sure your fragile units are not in their range.

The boss is fairly threatening, with a powerful Hero Sword. He moves too, so
be careful when placing your units. He has an Iron Shield, so Magic works
best on him. Sierra and Alicia should be able to put a huge dent in him,
and you can finish him off easily.

_____________________________________________________________________________

AF) Map 29: Sea Lion's Flag                                         [MAP.29]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Seize Castle

Items Obtainable:

Luna Sword (Obtained after chapter)

Characters:

Renee (Recruit with Attrom)

Special Events:

None

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Renee starts off behind the gate with an enemy troop, and will warp units
over to your position. This is slightly problematic, since your weaker units
are at risk, and you wouldn't want her to waste the precious Warp Staff.

Rush the gate from the start, and Warp Sierra over there if you have her. She
can stay alive with Janura equipped, and defeat quite a few of the enemies.
Once you've knocked down the gate, clear all the enemies before recruiting
Renee with Attrom.

The boss, Shion, will move out of the gate if someone goes in his attack
range. He is beastly, as his Lance restores HP upon hitting your units, and
he is very fast with 7 AS. The Goddess' Shield he's holding negates the
effective bonus of arrows, making him even more durable.

Magic puts a huge dent into him, and you can attack him at 2-range so that
he won't counter. Once you've worn him down enough, you can go in for the
kill with a strong melee unit.

If you're a pacifist and want to save Shion (won't do much other than change
a few story scenes), just lure him away from the gate and get Holmes to seize
while he's away. Renee's Warp Staff is the easiest way to do so, just
distract him and warp Holmes up there to Seize.

After the battle, Holmes promotes and gains the Luna Sword, which ignores
defence. Holmes can now use Swords.

AG) Map 30: The Legendary Swordsman                                 [MAP.30]

Conditions For Winning: Visit Castle

Items Obtainable:

Prelude         (Clear Morse Tower)
Goddess' Shield (Clear Morse Tower)
Dragon Flute    (At the desert, if Bud is present)
Re-Move Book    (At the desert, if Bud is present)

Characters:

Yoda (Recruited after chapter)

Special Events:

Learn Rising Dragon (Top row, left house)
Learn Continue      (Top row, right house)
Learn Earth Saint   (Middle row, left house)
Learn Life or Death (Middle row, right house)
Learn Geomancy      (Upper left house at the island with four houses)
Learn Heaven Saint  (Upper right house at the island with four houses)
Learn Blazing Wind  (Bottom left house at the island with four houses)
Learn Gale          (Bottom right house at the island with four houses)
Learn Dragon Saint  (Bottom row, rightmost house)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This map has pretty low enemy density, but quite a few tricky monsters to
contend with. The houses in here give out Skills, which can be very useful
for your characters. You don't have to visit them now, you can come back
and teach the skills later.

The Ogres here can destroy houses, and it's your job to prevent them from
pillaging the village. The Swordfighter NPCs will guard the houses, but
they aren't very capable.

First off, you can bypass this map very easily by having Renee Warp Holmes
to the gate (the big eyeball isn't standing on it, but 1 space in front).
If you want some EXP, you can attempt this map the normal way.

The house in the bottom-right corner is the most vulnerable, and you have
to keep the Ogres from destroying it. Have Sierra Warp herself over to
guard the house, or rush there with your mounted troops. The eyeballs
are as annoying as ever, but you shouldn't have much trouble with them.

Renee's Anti Evil Staff can purge the map of a few monsters, but you
shouldn't waste it here.

Yoda will join after the map. He is a good unit with great stats, and lots
of skills. He is a great addition to the team.

You can access the map again to teach your units skills. Teach the skills to
whoever you feel can use it best. Keep in mind that Rising Dragon can only
be used by foot units, and Dragon Saint cannot activate when using Magic.
Gale and Life or Death work well together.

===========
Morse Tower
===========

If Krisheenu is in your party, and you have activated the previous events
involving her, she will steal the Dakuron and leave the party for a while.
You can find her at the fifth floor of the Morse Tower, talk to her with
Holmes to get her back, and reobtain the Dakuron.

After this map, you have to go through a series of random encounters in the
Morse Tower. To complete each map, simply move Holmes on top of the stairs
to proceed.

After 5 floors, you reach the top of the Morse Tower. You can pilfer the
chests for a Prelude and a Goddess Shield, the latter negating effective
damage. Talk to the Priest, and you can revive up to a maximum of three
characters. To get out, just select the second option twice.

Once you've finished the Morse Tower, move Holmes along the path to reunite
with Runan. The final Route Split will commence at Liberia, right after the
desert.

|============|===========|

Runan's chapters are, again, harder than Holmes', and Runan has to face
several really hard bosses as well. I'd recommend you put your stronger
characters in Runan's group, especially the mounted units, as Holmes' team
has to go through more indoor chapters.

Rene's Warp Staff completely trivialises most of the chapters in Holmes'
route, as you can complete them in one or two moves that way. However,
Runan's group has comparatively fewer 'Seize' type missions, and Warp
isn't as useful. If you're using Warp, Rene should be in Holmes' group, if
not put her in Runan's group for the Anti-Evil Staff.

Sierra performs well in Runan's group, as Warp enables her to handle quite
a few troublesome enemies. Mel should be placed in her group to strengthen
her with the Magic Staff. Mintz is needed to recruit Hagaru. Narron, Loffaru
and Rishel are incredibly helpful in Runan's route, and Vega as well as
Shramm hits monsters for effective damage.

The Sasha / Kate event is easier on Runan's route than it is on Holmes'.
Narcus and Bud are there to pilfer the many chests along Runans' route.

Plum should be placed with Rene so that she can use the Warp Staff. You
shouldn't skimp on strong combatants for Holmes' team, as he too will face
many challenging enemies.

Lastly, a Bridge Key and a few Door Keys will be helpful in Runan's group.
Door Keys are also helpful in Holmes' group. Runan's group would appreciate
armor-slaying weapons like Hammers, and weapons effective on monsters. You
can buy a few Door Keys along the way in Holmes' route. The Main Gauche,
originally from Krisheenu, is quite helpful on Runan's route. Bring it
along if you still have it.

You should buy a few Door Keys along the way to the Sealed Bridge, it will
come in handy in the later chapters. Note that after the Sealed Bridge, you
can't backtrack and go to the stores to buy stuff, so buy whatever you need
in the stores.

Before Map 31, we have to clear out the Sealed Bridge, which isn't very hard.
Map 31 will commence immediately afterward.

You square off with a troop of Dark Knights in this map. The cavaliers will
rush forward first, so handle the wave of cavaliers before advancing into the
range of the Soldiers. The Dark Bishop, Nefka, will retreat once you move
within seven squares of him.

If you haven't recruited Sierra yet, you can visit the right house in this
map with Shigen to recruit her.

Zeek will be back with the statistics he was at before. He can be either
extremely strong or rather weak. He doesn't move, so you can snipe at him
from two to three range safely, and take him down easily.

Beware of the reinforcements that come from Turns 6-8, try to eliminate the
enemies before then, and have your units set up to take them on when they
arrive.

You can take down Zeek on Turn 1 with Warp. Renee can Warp someone over to
Zeek to kill him. Plum can refresh Rene, allowing her to send two units up
to deal with Zeek.

Conditions For Winning: Seize Gate

Items Obtainable:

Special Events:

One Reinforcement Witch spawns one tile left of the boss (Turns 2-20)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This map is a battle of attrition more than anything else. You have to cross
the swamp, which limits your movement and hurts you every turn. You also have
to contend with the Witches that are Warping beside you every turn, and the
boss' Earthquake spell, which hits everyone on the map and is cast every 5
turns.

Healing is important, so try to have some items to serve as backup healing.
You should avoid bringing frail units, lest they get killed by the witches.
Beware of the Dracozombies too, they aren't affected by the swamp and have
a damaging AoE attack.

There's a Dark Mage with Meteor near the boss, he can be sniped down by
a flyer, allowing you to approach the boss safely.

Again, if you have Rene and Plum, you can bypass this annoying chapter. Just
Warp someone to kill the boss, and have Holmes Seize the gate. The boss is
quite slow and frail, someone strong like Yoda can take him on easily.

Conditions For Winning: Kill Boss, move Holmes over to the space where the
                       boss was

Items Obtainable:

Seiken Sallia (After the chapter)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

One reinforcement monster, on the squares they started on (Turns 5, 10, 15,
                                                          20)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This map isn't very tough, there aren't many enemies besides the clump of
Golems in the middle and the reinforcements that spawn. Unfortunately, you
have to wade through the clump of Golems in the middle to get at the boss,
which is quite troublesome.

The Golems are quite fast, and have sky-high Defence. The Luna Sword is
very useful here, as it bypasses Defence and allows you to take out the
Golems easily. You can also use Lyria's Power Staff for an extra boost, or
snipe at them with Magic units.

The boss has Bau Crash, a 5 AoE spell with 2-5 range. He also has Tomaharn,
an uncounterable Dark Spell which has 1-3 range. In addition to dealing
loads of damage, you can't counter when hit by Tomaharn, which makes it
problematic. He also has an Elixir which allows him to be revived once.

Strong units with Hero Weapons, such as the Hero Axe or the Hero Sword, can
take him down in one round with Lyria's help. Alternatively, you can also use
Holmes with a Gatling Bow, but unequip it before the phase ends, otherwise
he might get doubled by the boss.

You can also Warpskip this with the help of Lyria and Plum. Simply boost
Holmes or another combat unit with the Power Staff, and Warp them up so
that they can kill the boss with their Hero weapons. The boss does revive,
so you might want to use a Magic Shield to sponge the Tomaharn.

Once the boss is down, retrieve the Seiken Sallia with Holmes.

Conditions For Winning: Seize Castle

Items Obtainable:

None

Characters:

Hagaru (Comes as a reinforcement behind the castle on Turn 10, speak to him
       with Mintz)

Special Events:

Reinforcement Axe Knight    (Southwest fort, Turns 2 - infinity)
Reinforcement Mage Knight   (Northwest fort, Turns 2 - infinity)
Reinforcement Wood Shooter  (Behind the castle, Turns 2 - infinity)
Reinforcement Bow Knight    (Northeast fort, Turns 2 - infinity)
Reinforcement Cavalier      (Southeast fort, Turns 2 - infinity)
Reinforcement Dragon Knight (Fort on the plateau, Turns 2 - infinity)

Runan talks to Estofarne    (Estofarne leaves the battle, you get a Holy
                            Sword after Map 36)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you're ready, because this chapter is the hardest in the game.
Notice the enemy troops sitting on the forts? Every subsequent turn, those
forts will throw out reinforcements unless you block them with one of your
units by standing on the fort. You also have to contend with the many Wood
Shooters, who have Gatling Bows, and have Iron Shields equipped making them
hard to kill.

Your first priority should be to block the fort that spawns Dragon Knights,
as these guys have high mobility and will really threaten your team. You can
use Meteor, Arvanrest, Sierra or a flyer to kill it. You should dismount your
flying units because of the numerous ballistae around the area. You can then
use a flyer and dismount at the fort, or warp Sierra over.

Now that's over, you should aim to block all the forts and prevent any more
reinforcements from spawning. Send a few strong units left to take out the
Wood Shooters and block the Southwest fort, while your main force takes out
the Ballista and the platoon of Wood Shooters. Rishel works very well here,
Sunflame gives him enough defense to avoid being damaged by the Gatling Bows,
and he puts a huge dent into the Wood Shooters.

You can also opt for Armorslaying weapons like the Hammer, Armorslayer and
Estoc, but as they have Iron Shields it isn't going to hurt them very much.
Loffaru can kill them in one round with the Hammer, provided he hits, so
he is very valuable.

Meriah's Aura Rain is also another option, she can put a big dent into
the Wood Shooters on Turn 5, and can annihilate almost everything on the
map if she is refreshed by Plum.

The Wood Shooters are quite smart, they won't attack units they can't hurt,
like Rishel or anyone with over 20 Defence. Just try to take it slowly and
thin their ranks before moving your fragile units towards the boss. Take note
that mounted units have to dismount to cross the bridge in front of the boss.

Seal up all the forts, and then move towards the boss area. There are quite
a few Wood Shooters near the boss, with 3-7 range Quick Rain and normal
crossbows. They aren't terribly strong, so just keep your more fragile units
out of the way and take them down with Rishel or Loffaru. Avoid the boss for
now, he has really beastly stats and can kill off even your strongest units.

By now, Estofarne, who starts on the North Bank, should have started moving,
and should rush towards Runan. Stay out of her range so that you don't kill
her, and talk to her with Runan to capture her. At this point, you might
want to wait for Hagaru to appear, he appears as a Wood Shooter reinforcement
on Turn 10.

In the meantime, you can take down the boss, Ernst. Ernst has extremely high
Strength and Agility, and has a Magic Shield and a Silver Shield initially
equipped. He also holds a Holy Sword initially, which boosts his resistance
to Magic by 7 points. His Wind Shield also reduces the damage from Sylpheed.

Ernsts' Shields make him very difficult to take down, as they guard against
lots of damage. To take him down, you have to wear his Shields down. You
can safely snipe at him from 3-range with Rishel and Sunflame, and wear his
Magic Shield down. To take out his Silver Shield, you can use a Longbow or
the Arvanrest, or move a tanky unit with a shield to wear it down. Once his
Shields are busted, it's fairly easy to take him down.

Once you've got Ernst down, just Seize the gate to end the chapter.

Hagaru is a pretty bad unit, as he has low movement and bad offense. He can
use the 3-7 range Quick Rain, but he has bad accuracy and can't move to use
it.

AM) Map 35: Julius                                                  [MAP.35]
_____________________________________________________________________________

Conditions For Winning: Kill the boss

Items Obtainable:

Canaan Lance (Kill Julius)

Characters:

Verna (Joins after chapter)

Special Events:

Learn Arena Fighter               (Blue house in the upper-right corner)
Repair Cursed Weaponry for 3000G, (Church in the upper-right corner)
Luck + 1
Buy Silver Shield for 10000G      (House in the northwest corner, below the
                                 church and the blue house.)

Reinforcements from the northeast corner (Turns 2 and 3)
NPC units from the Arena                 (Turns 3 to 7)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The enemies in this chapter aren't very hard, and the reinforcements aren't
challenging either. There are very few generic enemies, and you should be
able to dispatch them without too much trouble. However, to end the chapter,
you must kill Julius, which is very challenging.

Julius is extremely fast, and has the Canaan Lance, a 1-2 range Lance that
absorbs HP on hit. He also moves, which makes it more problematic since he
has great movement. He also carries a Goddess' Shield, negating the effective
bonus of arrows. He will start moving on Turn 3.

There are two ways to kill Julius, the second easier than the first, although
you don't get to use the Canaan Lance that way.

The first way is just to smash him with Magic and strong physical units.
You can lure Julius in with a tanky unit with a Shield, but keep in mind he
has Continue, which may mess up your strategy. Wail on Julius with your
units, but avoid taking counters and giving him a chance to restore his HP.
Rishel with Sunflame and a Mage with Sylpheed can put a big dent in him.
Once you're done, you can go for the kill with a strong unit.

If you're having trouble, you should avoid Julius for the first three turns.
On Turn 3, several NPC units will stream out of the Arena. Just let Julius
break the Canaan Lance on them, and you can take him on safely, as with a
Short Sword he can't counter at two-range. He still has Heaven Saint, and
hits quite hard, so be careful. He'll go for the NPC units over the player
units, so it gives you some breathing room.

Verna joins after the chapter. She has decent stats, and joins with the Salia
Lance, which is extremely powerful, has 1-2 range and hits twice.

Conditions For Winning: Visit mansion, then survive subsequent 5 turns

Items Obtainable:

Holy Sword (Chapter end, if you talked to Estofarne in Map 36)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

Enteh leaves                                    (Start of chapter)
Rakis and Muse appear                           (Visit the mansion)
5 reinforcement summoners                       (Visit the mansion)
Dark Knight, Witch and Dark Mage reinforcements (The five turns after you
from the south and east                          visit the mansion)

Kate leaves                                     (Chapter end)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enteh will leave before the chapter, so you should bring another healer
along.

Your first goal is to visit the mansion in the center of town. The map is
fairly uneventful at that point, as there are only a few monsters in the
town. Just get Runan over and visit it, and kill a few monsters along the
way.

Once you're done, the holy dragon Rakis will appear at the northeast corner,
and five Summoners will appear on the north and east sides. On the five
subsequent turns, there will be reinforcements along the south and east
sides as well. Enteh transforms into the holy dragon Muse to protect Runan.

You have to survive for the next five turns, which isn't very hard as the
monsters aren't strong. Watch out for the witches, as they have Warp which
can be problematic. Enteh can clear out large clumps of monsters with her
Breath attack, and is invincible, so use her to distract Rakis while the
rest of the troops defend against the enemies.

The monsters are weak, and aren't very aggressive. Surviving the five turns
shouldn't be a problem. After this map, it's the point of no return for
Runan, so buy everything you need in the town after this.

Master Axe    (Top row, middle chest)
Master Sword  (Top row, bottom chest)
MAG Plus      (Westernmost chest)

Memory Staff  (Middle chest)
MHP Plus      (Southeast chest)

Bridge Key    (Middle Summoner)
Bridge Key    (Right Summoner)

Characters:

None

Special Events:

None

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter is quite annoying, as you have to kill everything on the map,
and the Summoners constantly add more monsters that will prove annoying to
take down.

First, note the four Witches around the map. They will start warping on the
first turn and target fragile units, so you should give them Magic Shields
to survive those hits. The summoners will constantly summon more monsters
which you have to take down, and these monsters are quite durable. Effective
weapons like the Mainstar, Rukuud, Shramm and Salia Lance will help greatly.

Your first priority should be the summoners, then you should move on to
take on the boss. Aura Rain can help out a lot in killing the monsters.

There is a big clump of dragons along the bottom, and in the middle there's
a Dragon with the Dragon's Scale, rendering it immune to any damage. Runan
needs to get the Seiken Reeve from behind the boss, and kill it with that.
The Dragons hit hard, but they don't have much Hit. Regardless, you
should avoid most of them until you have the Seiken Reeve, which halves
Breath damage.

Alternatively, you can use a unit with high evasion and access to Swords
to kill the Dragons. By equipping the Main Gauche, your evasion rises by
20%, and you can get up to 70+ evasion with a strong unit. This will
drastically reduce the Dragons' hit chance. Since their breath hits a 3x3
radius, they will kill each other in the crossfire.

The boss is similar to the one in Holmes' route. He has Tomaharn, a 1-3 range
uncounterable spell, and Bau Crash, a 5 AoE 3-5 range spell. Magic Shields
will help in warding off his attacks. The Dark Bishops beside him have
Janura, and hit pretty hard, so watch out. You should use the Master weapons
to kill him, so that he doesn't get a chance to counter. You can also use the
Sallia Lance with Raffin or Lionel to kill him. He has an Elixir, which
revives him after death, so keep that in mind.

Once you've killed the boss, retrieve the Seiken Reeve and move Runan down
to kill the Dragon and end the chapter. The next chapter will be Holmes'.

Conditions For Winning: Kill the boss, Holmes stands next to the gate

Items Obtainable:

Characters:

Kate (Talk to her with Sasha)

Special Events:

Witch Reinforcement next to the boss (Turns 2-20)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This map is very dark, and you can't see the passageways, like the Deep
Dungeon in Final Fantasy Tactics. Anyway, you can feel your way around by
moving your units, and you need to open the doors to get to the boss.

The enemies aren't very hard, but you are going to be harrassed by the
Witches that show up as reinforcements. The Dragons are also dangerous due
to their AoE Breath attack, so keep that in mind.

Kate will appear in the room with the Skeletons as an NPC. You need to heal
her up with a Far-Healing Staff and get to her before the skeletons kill her.

To get to the main room, Holmes must go west, open the door, travel up the
passageway and turn downwards towards the door. It's easy if you have Rene,
you can just Warp Holmes over to stand next to the gate and kill the boss,
ending the chapter. Alternatively, you can Warp someone up to kill the boss,
then Warp Holmes to the door.

Door Key          (Northwest chest)
Janura            (Left Chest in the room with three chests)
Saint Proof       (Middle Chest in the room with three chests)

Far-Healing Staff (Southeast Chest)

Door Key          (Dropped by a Dark Knight)
Door Key          (Dropped by a Dark Knight)
Far-Healing Staff (Dropped by the Dark Bishop)

Characters:

Kate (Talk to her with Sasha)

Special Events:

Dark Knight Reinforcements from the northeast and northwest (Turns 2-20)
Two Witch Reinforcements from the northeast and northwest   (Turns 6-20)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have to face a labyrinth again with Runan's group. It's a little harder
than Holmes', since you have to face more Witches and more reinforcement Dark
Knights. Kate appears in a cell with two Zombies, again, use the Far-Healing
Staff to keep her alive and then rush to her.

Bring along Door Keys in every group, as you will need to open doors to
progress.

All three paths in the labyrinth converge at the north hallway with the
doors leading to the treasure rooms and Kate. The left and right groups can
just move northward, then move east or west once the path brightens up.
They can then move south into the hallway.

Runan's group can go either right or left, but he should take the right path,
it is shorter and doesn't require as many Door Keys.

Equip your frail units with Magic Shields so that they don't get killed by
the Witches, and watch out for the Dragons, they hit hard and have a large
AoE attack. The treasures here aren't really worth the effort to field a
Thief, so unless you're running short on Door Keys you should skip the
treasures. You should leave one or two Door Keys for the final chapter.

Zeek is easier now, as he is dismounted and takes a hit to his stats. He
shouldn't be too hard to take down, as he is weighed down by his Lance.
You can boost Sierra with the Magic Staff and use her to take down Zeek,
ending the chapter in one turn. This is assuming she has enough Agility
to double Zeek with Sylpheed, though.

Door Key (Dark Knight)

Characters:

Sennet (Arrives from east side on Turn 1)
Alfred (Arrives from north side on Turn 4)
Tia    (Appears on the altar on Turn 4)

Special Events:

Two Dark Knight reinforcements from the southeast  (From Turn 2 onward)
Two Witches from the northwest and southwest       (From Turn 4 onward)
Two Draco Zombies from the northwest and southwest (From Turn 5 onward)
One Sorceress from the southeast                   (From Turn 7 onward)

Gazel appears on the altar                         (Turn 4)
Gazel casts Black Rain, everyone dies =(           (Turn 20)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The final map in the game, and you have to take down the Dark Dragon, Gazel,
and foil Gwenchaos' plans once and for all!

You start off in the south and west chambers of the map. There are many
Dark Mages with AoE spells, as well as a few Dragons lurking here and there.
Take care that you don't get hurt by them. Mounted units start dismounted,
but can ride their mounts once they're out of the room. They can't move up
the altar when mounted.

The four chambers surrounding the throne room are locked from the outside.
You can't open them from the inside, someone must Warp to the outside and
pick the lock. You can use Sierra with a Door Key, or warp Holmes or a Thief
to pick the lock. If you don't have anyone, Alfred shows up on Turn 4, and
he has Warp and a Door Key. He can kill the Soldiers for more Door Keys.

Unlock Sennet's room and Runan's room - you can Warp Holmes over to Runan's
room with Renee, and you don't need to open that door, as it would expose
Holmes' team to more enemies. Anyway, get Lyria to buff up Runan and/or
Holmes with the Power Staff, and if you have an AGI Up, give it to Sennet.
He can double the boss after ingesting it.

For now, the altar is inaccessible, and you can only watch helplessly as
Gwenchaos slaughters the priests. In the meantime, try to get Runan, Holmes
and Sennet as close to the south of the altar as possible.

Karla will Warp around and harrass you with Meteor. She has the Dragon
Mail, which halves damage taken. Your best bet is to use someone with the
Rukuud to land a critical on her, as she has Awareness preventing skills
from activating.

On Turn 4, Alfred shows up to the north and Tia escapes from her chains.
A path opens up to the south of the altar. Gazel, the true boss of this
map, appears in the center, surrounded by many eyeballs. Rene's
Anti-Evil Staff will help a lot in clearing the eyeballs. You need to get
Holmes, Sennet, Runan and Tia to surround Gazel, so rush them up the altar
as fast as possible.

Once you've cleared out the eyeballs, surround Gazel with all four characters
and begin attacking him. Gazel has the Dragon Scale, rendering him
invulnerable to anything but the Holy Swords, and the Dragon Mail which
halves damage recieved. He will cast Black Rain on Turn 20, killing
everything, so you need to take him down before he does that.

Once you've surrounded Gazel, the supports between characters will take
effect, giving them more Hit and Crit. Wail on him with all four characters,
and heal them up with Far-Healing Staffs. Gazel doesn't do much damage as
the Holy Swords halve breath damage.

Once Gazel is down, he will revive again, ad infinitum. The only way to
prevent this is to surround him with Sennet, Holmes, Runan and Tia, at
which point the combined power of love and hope will seal him for good.

Enjoy the credits!

B) Forging                                                            [FORG]
_____________________________________________________________________________

You can access two Forges in Holmes' route, one in Ligria and one in Brahd.
Brahd is the map where Chapter 15 takes place in, and it has a lot of places
to learn skills. Ligria can only be accessed during a random encounter, and
you pass by it on your way to Chapter 16 and Chapter 20.

The craftsmen will ask for two items, and they will create something from
these two items for you. They make objects in a predetermined order, and you
have to make the items in that order. They are found in the round houses
with red, conical roofs.

This sidequest isn't really worth the time and effort, as the only valuable
items are the Dragon Arrow and the Repair Staff. As you can see, you need to
use both forges to complete the sidequest, and you need to head back
periodically to advance it.

The Dragon Arrow has 17 Mt, 2-3 range and is effective against monsters. It
is one of the most powerful bows available to you. The Repair Staff can
repair anything up to its' full uses, including * weapons.

C) Krisheenu Glitch                                                   [GLTC]
_____________________________________________________________________________

To activate this glitch, you have to activate the events involving Krisheenu,
Shigen and Vega in Holmes' route, between the first route split and the
second route split. Next, kill off Krisheenu before entering the Morse Tower.
Once there, revive her with the Dakuron, and re-enter the tower. At the fifth
floor, field her. Shigen and Krisheenu will have a conversation, and her body
will glow. Once you've exited the tower, there will be two Krisheenu's in your
roster.
