2 - - ABOUT THE GAME
Tales of Eternia is the third game on the Tales series of games
on the Playstation, who are one of the most unique Namco RPG series.
The Tales series has gained an huge fan base because has great 2-D
graphics, a simple to understand but deep battle system and a basic
and endearing plot that gives great emphasis on the main characters
and his relations with each other, than the enemies and his
motivations, that always was Tales of...weakest point.
Tales of Eternia was originally released on Japan in November
2000 and after that, release on the US as Tales of Destiny 2 in
September 2001 with a new opening movie theme, edited outworld
conversations and without true Pocketstation support.
3 - - TITLES DEFINITION
A ) Introduction
One of the special features of Tales of Destiny 2 and Tales of
Phantasia Remake for the Playstation is the Title option. This extra
feature is a bonus for players that want to do sidequests and rewards
that like to max out the status for the characters. Each person have a
special set of titles that shows that the characters completed a given
task, which can range from completing a sidequest or reaching Level 99
and so on.
B ) Types of titles
There are basically 4 kinds of tasks:
NORMAL EVENT, that are titles that you begin with or on the
normal progression of the game you will gain it without doing anything
special.
PROGRESSIVE, that is titles that you gain IF you reach a
determined level or status in any part of the game.
MINIGAME, that are titles that you gain IF you win a determined
minigame that is optional. All minigames will be available in the end
of game, if you lost any in the course of the game.
SIDEQUEST, which are titles that you gain IF you complete a
sidequest. Some sidequests can be missed (CUPID).
This FAQ shows the name of the title, difficulty of the
minigames, the CD to get the title when is a Normal Event and a brief
description to how get the titles. Ah, and some comments of funny
stuff and curiosities.
In Tales of Phantasia, all characters can have the same amount
of titles, but in Tales of Eternia/Destiny 2, the amounts of titles
are different. Reid gains the most, and Max the least.
C ) Title screen
To see the number of titles awarded for a character, just enter
the menu and select STATUS. Below of the characters name is the
current title, and then press down and select your desired title. Just
remember, the title awarded does not have a real meaning like boosting
your status or anything, it's just there for bragging rights. So have
fun!

How to get - Reach level 10
Status - Progressive
Comments: It's funny that Reid gains this title because Squire is
a military rank and Reid is totally against the idea to belong to
something. Just remember the answer given to master Franco on Regulus
Dojo.

How to get: Reach level 40

SUPREME PATRIOT
How to get - Get the Slash and Thrust levels to the max.
Status: Progressive
Comments: This "supreme patriot" is a little weird title. So what
it supposes to mean? Eternia Savior (the Japanese translation) is
much more adequate title.

How to get: Get all Aurora skills [Aurora wall, Aurora sword
(slash) and Aurora wave]

GOURMET MASTER
How to get: Master all 36 dishes.
Status: Progressive
Comments: Reid talks a lot about food on this game.... really.
NAMCO TEACHER
How to get: Answer correctly all 30 questions of the beginner
exam on Minche university.
Status: Minigame
Difficulty: Normal
Comments: Reid = Stupid and always hungry. Keele = Nerd and
clever. Do you really think that Reid deserves this title? Compared
that Reid has 25 titles and Keele only 8, there is a wrong distributed
title. Cameo appearance of Chelsea.
NAMCO PROFESSOR
How to get: Answer correctly all 30 questions of the intermediary
exam on Minche university.
Status: Minigame
Difficulty: Normal
Comments: Same as Namco teacher. Cameo appearance of Klarth.
NAMCO OTAKU
How to get: Answer correctly all 30 questions of the expert exam
on Minche university.
Status: Minigame
Difficulty: Hard (pretty obscure questions)
Comments: Same as Namco teacher. Cameo appearance of Clemente.
GLADIATOR
How to get: Defeat Cless (or Cless and Arche) on the Inferia city
arena.
CD 3 only
Status: Progressive
Comments: I'm sorry. I can't say Cress Albain (Cless Alvain) or
Clark (Klarth). I am really sorry. Shame on these lazy Namco
translators. Cameo appearance of Cless and Arche.
SONIC WARRIOR
How to get: Win any battle under one second.
CD: All
Status: Progressive
Comments: Thanks for Poseidon1215 for the explanation.
SPEEDSTER
How to get: Defeat Captain Mach and get less than 1.12.00 min on
the Around the Celestia minigame
CD: 2 and 3
Status: Minigame
Difficulty: Hard
Comments: This is the only time that 2 persons gain a title for
the same minigame. Speedster for Reid and First Officer for Chat.
MASTER COXSWAIN
How to get: Time less than 1.16.00 min on the Rafting minigame
CD: All
Status: Minigame
Difficulty: HARDCORE (boring as hell)
Comments: This is another example of undeserved title that Reid
wins. This minigame is all about Farah. Obviously, she is the one who
should win this title. This is the most difficult minigame EVER on the
history of videogames.
MASTER ROLLER
How to get: Win 3 times in a row on the Craymel Ball (first time)
Status: Minigame
Difficulty: Normal
Comments: Worth mentioning that this minigame actually let you
choose the character who will participate. If you can choose the
character that will participate of the game, the title must go to the
one that earn it, not just Reid.
TROLLEY BOMBER
How to get: Get more than 20000 points on the Bomber minigame.

Luishika.

5 - - TITLE WALKTHROUGH
A) Farah CUPID title
To get the cupid title, you must complete successfully the
Katrine and Pierre sidequest. Most gamers actually think that the
couple destiny is wash dishes and prepare meals on Barole´s
restaurant, but this is the BAD ending of this sidequest. This happens
because there are one little detail that many misses and makes
impossible to gain the title.
To refresh your mind, Katrine and Pierre is a couple that is
meant to meet on Inferia City. But Katrine is a little...
uh....well....nevermind. But are up to you make the couple happy.
If you want help the couple to live a full and rewarding life (
and winning a special title ^_^) you must do the following things to
get the 2 together in Inferia City.
THESE THINGS ARE MEANT TO BE DONE BEFORE THE END OF CD 1
First see the couple in Minche next to the Craymel Ball court.
Next, see Katrine on the item shop of Morle. After that you will
see her on Chambard on the clothes store. And so you will see Katrine
in Barole. And the final step, is to see Katrine on the cafeteria on
the ship that goes to Inferia. For that you will have to get the
first-class ticket to Inferia. And so after that go inside Inferia
(she won't be anywhere, but is to activate the sidequest). And so end
the CD 1 and 2.
On the CD 3 - Go to Minche, and talk to the guy in front of the
house you first met Katrine, he will say that Katrine and Pierre
married and are living in Inferia City. You cannot enter the
observatory in Inferia on the beginning on the CD 3, so wait for a
while. After the Ribavius ore thing, go back to Inferia and enter the
observatory. They will be on the third floor, Katrine says that she
will be with Pierre all the time, so she won't get lost anymore.
Beautiful, huh. You will get Farah´s final title "Cupid" because
someone has to help a damsel in distress. It's a shame that no one is
a cupid for Farah and Reid....
B ) Food titles
The most time-consuming title to get is actually all the Food
titles. It's easier to get level 99 than master all dishes. To
accelerate the process of obtaining this titles follow this simple
tips.
- Since the beginning of the game, put autocook on all
characters.
- If the autocook is a failure, do it again manually.
- If you sleep on an inn, you can cook when you wake up.
C ) Titles awards: truth or false.
You DON'T win a title if:
- You reach level 999 (MAX level) or 9999 HP and 999 TP
- You get 100% on all items on the Collector List
- You get all 8 battle commands like back attack, rush attack,
etc.
I don't know if you gain a title if:
- You get 100% on the monster collection WITH the all items
dropped and stealed.(I have 100% of the monsters but not the items)
- You auction an item in the town of Jini for a high amount of
Jini (I once sold an item for + 21000 Jini and get squat)
- When you play a game of WHIS, you final result is put in an
accumulative score, like solitaire. Perhaps you win a title if the
result is very positive. (My best score was +330 points)
- All fighting characters gain a title when he/she gets all
battle skills (Supreme patriot, gadget master, elemental master), but
Farah doesn't get anything until now on my game. There is a last
Farah's skill after Fatal Fury?
6 - - EXTRA / SPECIAL INFO
A ) Game Information.

B ) Japanese-only titles
On the Japanese version of TOD2 there is 4 items called the
ETEPOKE. The ETEPOKE was items gained when you completed certain
sidequests (like the Banrea sidequest, that is not that useful at all
on the US version), that downloaded minigames for your pocketstation
an, if completed, gave 1 title for each character.
Since the pocketstation wasn't released outside Asia, the US
version is missing native pocketstation support. And so you can't
obtain them by normal means. The ETEPOKE can be, however, obtained on
the US version, IF you have a gameshark or similar device and put the
code for all items. A message "This item is unavailable on the US
version of the game" will appear on the definition of the ETEPOKE.

C ) What's missing on the FAQ.
