SAMURAI SHODOWN: WARRIORS RAGE
ENDING FAQ
by Kailu Lantis
Greetings!
Welcome to one and all to the Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage ending FAQ,
based on the new fighting game for the Playstation, made by those gameplay
freaks at SNK. This is actually my third ending FAQ, following those made for
Street Fighter Alpha 3 and The King of Fighters '98. This one is based on a
game that's got a lot of critics...sadly, most are for the worst. I personally
find the game to have many interesting and cool character designs that I hope
one day will be portrayed to the 2D realm. I can accept any kind of flames for
this game, any that you want. But you have to give it to SNK, they have made a
GREAT work on making a great story, which had been lacking in the SS series
for quite some time (and the language was really lacking there).
Shown here are all the dialogues that appear in the game, during the
several intermissions and ending movies. Some speeches seem to go on forever
(as much as them are along the line of "You're shit!" and "You're bigger shit
than I am!", "Well, at least I'm big!"). This may also offer quite some juicy
tidbits on things to come, as the SS series nears the present age.
I will try to explain how the story evolves, and if you don't seem to
understand some things. I'll try my best, but keep in mind, some things I
really don't understand very well.

OK, let me put this nice and clear: Don't ya freakin' dare copy my FAQ,
OK bub? This is FAQ was created for public performance, and was done with no

FAQ must be done with the permission of the author (which means, moi). So,

Samurai Shodown is a registered trademark of SNK. This FAQ is done

me from the company, so I get no dough for this. Is that OK, Yuda man?
<SLASH!> Yikes! All right, all right, I'll stop! Geez, chill out, dude....
Oh yeah, and Microsoft are a bunch of capitalist pigs....:P

OPENING STORY
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
Year: 1800. Place: Japan, land of imagination. During this dark age,
samurais fought between themselves to impose a way of government in Japan.
When the country was in terrible need of a powerful leader, the battles that
waged became fatal and mortal fights for freedom. While the samurais disputed
their differences in the line of battle, the already deteriorated society
began spawning a line of criminals which threatened the stability of the
country in another front. As soon as the Samurai war ceased, the Bafuku
government lost no time in taking extreme measures for the increasing number
of crimes. Hence, an island off the coast of Edo (old Tokyo) was established
as a prison for the downtrodden and menaces. The place was named:
"Riten Kyo"
Ten years have passed since the establishment of Riten Kyo. The year is
1810. In the island, the criminals began creating their own society of the
forgotten. Soon enough, the power of the crime organization became a problem
for the Bafuku to control. In the center of this foul society, was the "Razor
Trio of Domination", composed of three formidable warriors, that ruled atop a
castle in the middle of the island: Tohma Kuki, a power monger and slayer of
souls. Mikoto, a Maiden of Darkness, said to have both the power of an angel
and a devil. And as their leader, Oboro, an elderly old man whose powers
remain a mystery to all. Suddenly, an evil force began to surge in the midst
of Riten Kyo, calling the attention of both criminals and samurais alike.
Now is the time where both the samurais must fight in order to regain
control of Riten Kyo, and for the habitants of Riten Kyo to exact freedom from
the evil deeds of the Razor Trio. The blood of the warriors burns in rage, and
the time comes yet again for another....
SAMURAI SHODOWN!
This is the story based on what the two intros say. I heavily recommend
you look at the "Let's go to Crime City" intro, not only because it's funny,
it has valuable info, and nice music, too!
The following prologues appear before you begin your quest. They will
scroll on a blue background of the entrance of Riten Kyo. The text will vary
if you use one of the Razor Trio (Tohma and Mikoto, since Oboro is not
selectable), and another for the rest of the cast:
Normal:
Here a single samurai, headed for "Riten Kyo" and its evil rulers, the
Razor Trio.
But no one will be slain for the sake of Justice. Only for a belief in
the sword.
The Razor Trio: At it's top sits Oboro, leader of an eponymous gang and
master of black arts.
Next, Mikoto, worshipped as a Maiden of Darkness, who possesses unusual
powers.
And Tohma Kuki, a ruthless swordsman and slayer of souls. Raise your
sword and test fate to
discover your power.
And destroy the evil!
Razor Trio:
Here comes a samurai, meting out punishment to those who bar inner
desires.
Yet these are not money, nor stale fame in the world. Even risking the
proof of his existence, carved
with the sword, the ambition will be realized....
The enemy: "The Iga Ninjas", also knows as the Bafuku's secret service
who fight to keep order.
"The Anti-Bafuku Patriots", submerged in the depths of "Riten Kyo". And
finally, the "Atom
"Rebels", a sect waiting to assassinate those who dare aim for power.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
NAKORURU'S PERIL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
From time to time, and as displayed in the normal intro, Nakoruru will
appear to guide you in your journey to eliminate the Razor Trio. No, you're
not mistaken: Nakoruru is STILL dead. The Nakoruru that appears is just her
wandering spirit, and measures only several inches. So, what about the full-
sized Nakoruru in the intro? Probably it's her reincarnated self (she does
look very young, even more than Rimururu herself). However, since the island
is sealed off by Oboro to impede the entrance of Maidens of Lights, Nakoruru
has decided to send her spirit via meditation in order to communicate herself
with the heroes.
Nakoruru first bids you to find her little sister (which is bigger than
her, by the way) Rimururu (also referred as Rimnerel, which is basically the
same thing). Rimururu had sensed the evil presence in Riten Kyo long before
Nakoruru did (perhaps because the "new" Nakoruru didn't know about her powers
until lately), and tried to dispose of it herself, but, being the impulsive
brat she is, she gets trapped by Oboro, and encased in a seal, brought to a
temple afterwards. You will get the chance to free Rimururu later in the game,
but she no longer appears later in the game. Instead, she will open a series
of options for you: "Gallery Mode" and "Attack Mode". Otherwise, she no longer
serves for story purposes, neither does Nakoruru, unless they appear in a
character's ending.
Nakoruru won't always appear for some characters (sometimes, not at
all), but the weird fact is that she gets the nerve to appear in front of the
Razor Trio members, Tohma and Mikoto. Obviously, she gets the monster blow-
off, but not before she reminds them of their "real" purpose: to turn against
their master, Oboro.
The following is a description of the cinemas in which Nakoruru is
involved, and the dialogues she utters for several characters (which varies
shortly from character to character), as well as after which stages she
appears:
(First cinema: Fairy's Voice)
There is a closing view of a forest, and as the view closes in to a lake, a
ball of light floats down lightly to the top of the lake. The light
materalizes into the pint-sized Nakoruru, with an innocent smirk on her mug
(during the cinema, she dishes out some Japanese speech, which happens with
most character cinemas).
*First appearance:
(Nakoruru descends in a ball of light in the forest, and she reappears, with
her hands put together in a praying fashion, and her eyes closed.)
Nakoruru: Please.... Help me. The evil darkness.... A dark power....
Destruction...comes.... Somehow.... With your strength.... Stop this evil
power. The Razor Trio of Domination!
(This speech changes if you happen to be from the Razor Trio)
Nakoruru: Please.... Help me. Listen. Please.... Listen to me. Please....
(This always happens for the characters after stage 3, normal and Razor Trio
alike)
*Second appearance:
(Nakoruru descends in a ball of light in the temple ruins, and she reappears,
with her hands put together in a praying fashion, and looking at you with cute
eyes.)
Nakoruru: Hear my tale. I am Nakoruru, Maiden of Light. I ask a favor.
(The following varies from character to character. If you're Hanzo, Jin-Emon,
Jushiro, Rinka, Saya, or Seishiro Kuki, basically the guys on a mission, you
get the following speech:)
Nakoruru: The people I seek, are allies of evil. The Razor Trio of Domination.
Vassals to an evil will.
(However, if you are the rest of the cast, Nakoruru lowers her hands, and
looks at you with a concerned face, saying:)
Nakoruru: Don't give me that look. This is too important. (takes hands again)
A catastrophe has begun. (worried look again) By vassals to an evil will, the
Razor Trio of Domination.
(From here on, the speech is the same:)
Nakoruru: (closes eyes) Twenty years ago.... (opens eyes again) The carrier of
this Evil Will appeared on earth. His name was Oboro. He plunged the world
into continual chaos, trying to make a world where only the strong survive.
(closes eyes) At that time, he imprisoned (opens eyes again) the Maidens of
Light. (takes hands) I beg you. Though I cannot move beyond this
realm...another Maiden can. She will assist you. But she must be revived from
a long slumber. You must do this! Her name is Rimnerel. Save my young sister!
(For Haomaru, Mikoto, and Tohma, the speech is somehow different. With
Haomaru:)
Nakoruru: It's been 20 years. I require your strength! In the group you'll
find Asra and his daughter. Please Haomaru. Listen well to my story. (closes
eyes) Twenty years ago.... (opens eyes again) The carrier of this Evil Will
appeared on earth. His name was Oboro. He plunged the world into continual
chaos, trying to make a world where only the strong survive. (closes eyes) At
that time, he imprisoned (opens eyes again) the Maidens of Light. (takes
hands) I beg you. Though I cannot move beyond this realm...another Maiden can.
She will assist you. But she must be revived from a long slumber. You must do
this! Her name is Rimnerel. Save my young sister!
(For Mikoto:)
Nakoruru: I know you well. I also know your pain. (closes eyes) You wage war
with a different self. (opens eyes again) Mikoto. Don't be led astray into the
darkness. You shouldn't follow Oboro's path of destruction! (worried look)
Conquer your dark self. (takes hands) Mi...ko...to. Regain your humanity!
(For Tohma:)
Nakoruru: I beg you. Hear my tale. (takes hands) I am Nakoruru, Maiden of
Light. I cannot move from here. I'm trapped by Oboro's magic. Oboro fears the
Maidens of Light, we can destroy his evil. And Oboro's now on the move. At
this rate, the meek of the world shall all perish. (closes eyes) But that is
not your concern, I know. (takes hands again) You've chosen the Way of the
Sword. The perfection of an art. (worried look) Destruction worries you not.
(takes hands again) However, I beg you.... Follow Oboro no longer. And choose
the sword of Truth as your weapon. The magic grows stronger.
I...can't...continue. Choose...the correct path!
(For the "mission" characters, Nakoruru appears again after stage 5, except
for Jushiro. He and the rest of the cast has Nakoruru appear after stage 9.
Haomaru meets Nakoruru again after stage 6, and after stage 8 for Mikoto.)
*Battle against Oboro's Amazons (Temple Ruins):
With the exception of Mikoto and Tohma, the rest of the cast must fight 5
Oboro's Amazons after Nakoruru finishes speaking. The Amazons have their own
speech, which is the same for all characters:
Oboro's Amazons: You've come to save the Mistress of Light?! You came to stop
us? With your puny strength? You're a raging loony! Prepare yourself! For
you'll fail in your quest for vengeance!
(Second cinema: Maiden of Light)
Your view oversees a cliff, and above the cliff, is a flower field, with a
temple at the very back: the same temple you fought in previously. The camera
scrolls in the halls, and finally turns into a room to see a crystal at the
very end. The crystal has Rimururu encased in it, cuddled up in a ball.
Suddenly, light shines from the holes of the roof, atop the crystal, which
melts away fast. Close-up on Rimururu's face, which opens its eyes. During the
cinema, Rimururu gives a Japanese speech.
*Third appearance:
(Nakoruru descends in a ball of light in the temple ruins, and she reappears,
with her hands put together in a praying fashion, and looking at you with cute
eyes.)
Nakoruru: Thank you. Rimnerel awakes! If you're wounded and can't continue,
Rimnerel will aid you. (lowers hands) Destroy...the evil will!
(This always happens after you save Rimururu, which takes place after you
defeat Oboro's Amazons at stage 10.)

------------------------------------------------------
THE ULTIMATE BATTLES
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
When you finally reach your end boss in turn, you'll always be treated
with a previous cinema that sort of gives you some insight on the last
warrior, preparing to do battle. There are 6 different cinemas, but you'll
most likely be watching only 3 of them (Yuda's cinema only appears twice, and
the other 2 only once). Actually, the most interesting are those of Yuda and
Haomaru, since they give you some insight on the characters' past. This is the
explanation of the cinemas, and please note that during every cinema (except
for Yuda's), the character in turn will give some lengthy Japanese speech (the
hell do they say, anyway?):
(Tohma: Zero)
Zoom in towards the Razor Trio castle with a orange hue to the sky (sunset, no
doubt), and the word "Zero" appears onscreen, which later fades into Japanese
symbols (perhaps meaning the same thing). You actually take a look through the
upper halls of the castle, with lots of lion statues hanging around the walls.
The action alternates between the hall/lion pics, and the one where Tohma
kneels in a room, with his red sword hanging behind him. After a while, he
grabs the sword behind him, and slowly unsheathes it, as the whole screen
turns black, except for the sword, which keeps glowing red.
(Mikoto: Angel)
Zoom in towards the Razor Trio castle with a dark blue hue to the sky (night,
no doubt), and the words "Angel" and "Devil" appear onscreen, with their
respective Japanese symbols. Once again, you get treated to a scroll through
the castle halls, before you reach a fence, where Mikoto is standing behind.
After that, Mikoto takes a look at the full moon, while feathers fly
everywhere. When she gets ready, she is given her sword by two of Oboro's
Amazons (in normal form). Mikoto keeps it floating in the air, crosses her
arms, and angel wings sprout behind her back.
(Oboro: Metamorphosis)
Zoom in towards the Razor Trio castle with a green hue to the sky (smog, no
doubt :), and the word "Metamorphosis" appears onscreen, with its respective
Japanese symbol. As with the other two of the Razor Trio, you first take a
nice glimpse on the castle halls, before finally getting to Oboro, who kneels
in front of an altar with two huge swords. After a while, he faces the screen,
his body changes to his real form (his skin gets darker, and his hair gets all
wild), and he begins to control the swords. He sends the swords out the door
of his room, while the whole screen gets dark, except for several green
Japanese symbols covering the floor, roof, and walls.
(Yuda: Pain)
Bird view of the gates of the Netherworld, where a light field surrounds the
base. Looming above it is a strange-looking female with weird skin and an
alien-like creature on the back of her head. This is Yuga, the old evil menace
of Samurai Shodown 64 I and II. The action switches between her, and a glimpse
of several chains extending down to a deep fog. The chains happen to be tied
to the body of Asra, one of the samurais of yore, and former servant to Yuga.
The chains begin to break, as Yuga looks down. Finally, Asra appears kneeling
on the ground, aside a lot of broken chain. He slowly stands up, as lightning
shows his ominous face. A sword emanates from his hand, and folds it in front
of his face. Through one of the blade's crystals, you can see Yuga's smiling
face.
(Haomaru: Samurai Spirit)
The younger Haomaru appears sitting in a room at night, with just a bonfire
lighting him. He grabs his sword, and opens his eyes. Cut to the last battle
between Haomaru and Yuga (Yuga is in her first form, where she is more "male-
like", and wears priest clothing), at the gates of the Netherworld (lots of
pillars and light fields). Haomaru blocks all of Yuga's blows, but kneels on
the ground, worn out. Yuga flies higher in the sky, where she throws an energy
ball at Haomaru. The explosion doesn't faze Yuga, who has to see how Haomaru
jumps in once again, into the battle field. After a couple of swipes, Haomaru
finally gets the fatal cut to get in.
(Seishiro: Soul Diver)
Zoom into the docks of Riten Kyo, at night, while the words "Soul Diver"
appear on screen, with its respective Japanese symbol. The action cuts between
the sight of Tohma and Seishiro, training. After that, Tohma is seen looking
at the full moon from the balcony of the Razor Trio castle. Meanwhile, the
doors of the Samurai Center opens, to reveal Seishiro.

STORY INFO
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
OK, this is the part you have been waiting for. The following sections
will introduce you to the stories of the 23 characters selectable for you in
the game. Remember that not all characters will be available since the
beginning. Just like Tekken 3, you must finish the game several times to
unlock all the characters. The information will be displayed like this: the
dialogues they have during the game, in which stages they take place, if they
meet Nakoruru or not, and some mild explanations to either detail some
information, or just to ramble, ya know....:
BRUTE
Age: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Sex: Male
Weapon: Simple sword
The Brutes are no more than mere thugs that cause havoc in the streets of
Riten Kyo. These patented troublemakers like to beat people up, for little to
no reason at all. They represent some major headaches for judge Samon and his
troop of Samurais. Brutes are armed with normal swords, and have no kind of
special move or super.
(Brute has no dialogues during the game, neither does he meet Nakoruru.)
(Last boss: Tohma. Cinema: Zero. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(Brute and one of his disciples walk down the busy streets of Riten Kyo at
night. The disciple is pretty much bald, with only a small patch of hair on
the top of his head, and dressed mostly in black.)
Disciple: You beat the Razor Trio! In this neighborhood, no one can beat you.
Brute: Naturally. ...I'm the strongest. Got it?
Disciple: Got it. You're the king!
Brute: Sounds good. Say it again.
Disciple: You're the one, king Monkey.
Brute: King Monkey? Why you! You dare insult me?
Disciple: I'm sorry!
(Side view of Brute with his arms crossed, and his disciple looking at him in
awe.)
Brute: No sweat. I'm in a good mood. Hey, bub.
Disciple: Bub? You called me, Bub?
Brute: Outlaws these days, have to be sophisticated.
Disciple: Did you bump your head, Brute?
Brute: I'm talking about my future. Call me, Gentleman Brute.
Disciple: Gennle.... Can't do it.
Brute: Idiot! Say it! I'll bop you!
Disciple: Okay! Gentleman.
Samon: So, the scum's getting uppity!
(From behind, we see Brute and his disciple facing Samon and his legion of
Samurais.)
Brute: Who you calling 'scum'? Why, it's Samon.
Samon: Heard you defeated the dreaded Razor Trio.
Brute: So, what's it to you? I've done nothing wrong.
Samon: Hmph. Very well. Come with me to the station.
Brute: Oh, come on!
(Brute and his disciple walk behind Samon, surrounded by the Samurai force.
Brute takes a look at some grunt walking on the street.)
Samon: As long as life is in me, you'll do as I order. I can't leave this
Razor Trio incident alone.
Brute: All right. Then, again, no way! I'm gonna bop you.
Punk: Hmph. Watch it, gorilla!
Disciple: Brute. Let him go!
(Black screen.)
Punk: Hyah! Oh! Help!
(Brute grabs the punk on the floor by the neck. The whole Samurai troop points
at him with spears.)
Punk: I'm sorry!
Brute: Want to see something special?
Punk: No, no thanks.
Brute: Aw, why not punk? Come on. I insist.
(Worm view of Brute throwing the punk into the air, smashing him through the
roofs.)
Brute: Spawning time, fish face!
Punk: Stop it, please!
(Black screen.)
Disciple: Uh oh, now you did it. Whoa. He's dead.
(Black and white photo of Brute with arms crossed, on prison line.)
Sentence: Imprisonment.... 8 counts.... No chance for parole.
(Brute obviously takes the victory like a commoner. However, he still can't
shake his rude manners, despite his will to become civilized. When he's
walking down the street with Samon, he suddenly changes the conversation
towards the punk on the street. The prison line is a nice touch.)
DARUMA
Age: 60 years old
Height: 1.40 m (4' 6")
Weight: 48 kg (105 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Sword, hidden as a stick.
Daruma is a cranky old man who has lived in Riten Kyo for a long time, even
before it became a prison island. He ran away from the modern society,
disgusted by the selfishness of humans. The only proof that he once lived with
normal humans is the scarf he has on his neck. He has painfully watched how
his precious island has became a wasteland for criminals. His only redeeming
factor lies in his two adoptive grandchildren: Ran Po and Minto. He picked
them up when their parents died, amidst the violence of Riten Kyo. Now, Daruma
wishes his grandchildren might soon see true freedom, in the island of Ryukyu,
a pacific place not far from Riten Kyo. Daruma has the same techniques as
Haito, except he drinks from his sake, instead of a special potion, like
Haito.
(Daruma does not meet Nakoruru.)
(Stage 3: vs. Tashon Mao. Scene: Forest, daytime.)
Daruma: Ho, ho, ho! This forest is as beautiful as ever. But the greenery will
someday be gone... ...and this lovely island will be gone.
Tashon Mao: (in black) Intruder alert! Intruder alert! (appears) Yah tah tah!
<Waoh!> Oh! Eeeeee yow! My finger! My finger! Gyah. Oh, the pain! I banged it
good! And it was my pinky! Oh, the pain....
Daruma: My lord. What is wrong?
Tashon Mao: I banged my finger! Right here. It hurts!
Daruma: Oh, how sad!
Tashon Mao: You impudent fool! Smack, pow! Take that! And that! And that! Had
enough, fool? Heh. I showed him!
Daruma: Only an idiot walks into a tree. Clown!
Tashon Mao: You hypocrite! You just said...! I'm rubber, you're glue! So
you're the idiot!
Daruma: Yeah. Later, loony!
Tashon Mao: W, Wait a second! Your face sure is one mean looking mug! I bet
you've come to steal my pixy away!
Daruma: Hmph! I'm ugly? Have you looked in the mirror?
Tashon Mao: Ha ha! Jealous?
Daruma: The girls dig me, you know. Look! This scarf! Handmaid! Akebi... ...my
girl, knitted this for me. Hah!
Tashon Mao: Curses! I'm beaten! I've lost completely! Beaten by a geezer! I'll
turn the tables!
Daruma: You're no spring chicken yourself!
(Honestly, I think they both are idiots, but Daruma takes the cake: "The girls
dig me, you know". Ha! By the way, Akebi is Daruma's old young beloved, and
still thinks of her, despite the fact she lives way back in Osaka.)
(Stage 6: vs. Brute x3. Scene: Town Plaza, storm.)
Daruma: It's come this far! The village...! Soon Riten Kyo, my city... ...will
be destroyed! And the little imps are surely saddened... ...Oh, the humanity!
Brute: ...Hey, you! Are you the one menacing our realm?
Daruma: Your realm?
Brute: Indubitably! Now get out!
Daruma: Guess again, brute. The village is destroyed! Ruffians like you
carousing about. You think I'll turn tail and run, punk?
Brute: Who you calling punk, friend? You homeless menace! Head on out, tramp!
Daruma: Ho, ho, ho! Calm down! How about a few coins for some sake?
Brute: Why you! Get out, and you can live! Grubbing for booze money! Work for
it!
Daruma: Hey, butt out of my way of life, please!
Brute: What?! You sham! Get out now, bum! You've found your last donation
here!
Daruma: Make no mistake! I am the Daruma!
(What's the problem with grubbing for booze money? Works for me all the time!
:) The little imps that Daruma talks about are his references to Ran Po and
Minto, by the way.)
(Stage 10 vs. Haito Kanakura. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Samurai: F, Forgive me!
Haito: After your vacation here... ...You dare tell me...you're broke?
Samurai: I'll pay you soon!
Haito: Are you crazy? Do I look stupid?
Samurai: Y, Yaaah!
Haito: Even a samurai still bleeds red.
Samurai: Don't kill me....
Haito: Don't struggle! It's sickening! <SLASH!>
Samurai: Gack! Goooaaah!
Daruma: Feel better, attacking someone like that?
Haito: You talkin' to me?
Daruma: Continuing to snuff young lives like that? Does it ease the amount of
pain you store?
Haito: Mind your tongue!
Daruma: You may be young and glistening now.... Like that drawn sword you
hold.
Haito: Watch it, you!
Daruma: I was much like you, long, long ago.... And knew many flashy young
men. It was like they were soothed by combat.... But they were left only
lonely... ...and in despair. Incurable pain!
Haito: Quickly say what you want, old timer!
Daruma: The drawn sword is blind, wounding all. Look at me, junior! My broken
soul, my body!
Haito: Those are your last words, huh?
Daruma: Listen! This world has more than you know! Your pain is no more than a
grain of rice! Across the sea, lies a land of freedom....
Haito: A land of freedom?
Daruma: Do not give up!
Haito: Enough nonsense!
Daruma: It's your call. U-turn from the path of death!
(Haito is slaughtering the samurai for not paying him what he demands. So, it
is true that Daruma and Haito know each other. Haito could be Daruma's
student, but nothing is clear at the moment. Take a look at Daruma's speech,
since it will appear again with Haito. Land of freedom? Is it the States, or
Ryukyu?)
(Last boss: Tohma. Cinema: Zero. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(Daruma, seen from behind, is sitting atop a beam on a roof, serving himself
some sake. Sitting in front of him is Ran Po, looking aimlessly at the
ground.)
Daruma: It's coming soon, Ran Po!
Ran Po: What's coming?
Daruma: The Ryukyu wind, of course!
Ran Po: When?
Daruma: When these clouds pass.... Tomorrow morning. Pack now! It's a long
journey to Ryukyu.
Ran Po: Hmph. At such a time! Minto's off playing around. Gramps, you tell her
too.
Daruma: Hah! Hah! Minto's a pistol, huh?
Ran Po: Granpa's spoiled her. She's so dense sometimes.
Daruma: Call her here quickly.
Ran Po: Hmph. All right.
(Scene of Daruma drinking up his sake.)
Daruma: Ran Po! Know this. You need Minto like air. And Minto, too, cannot
live without you. But you need new ok! A ray of light! Where hope and despair
hold hands in friendship. This town's too dark for you.
(Next day, Daruma, Mario, and Mei see Ran Po and Minto jump off a cliff near
the sea, off to their journey to Ryukyu.)
Ran Po: Huh? Here it comes.
Daruma: Very well. Good luck, you two.
HYAOOOOO
Ran Po: Yoo hoo!
Minto: Go!
Daruma: .......
(Daruma, Mario, and Mei look at the sky while standing on the grass field near
the cliff.)
Daruma: Have they left? My dear children. Storms will not hinder them!
Mario: They're really gone, huh?
Mei: Minto. I'm always your friend!
(Daruma looks at Mario and Mei.)
Daruma: And what will you do?
Mario: I'll stay here with Mei, and rebuild this city.
Mei: I'm going to make it green! And make people nice!
Daruma: Live well, you two.
Mario: And how about you, old guy?
Daruma: Even in this world, people still need me. I'm off on a journey.
Mario: Really? Then take care.
Mei: Farewell, old man.
Daruma: Farewell, you two.
(Daruma rowing atop his own hat, using his stick/sword as a row, towards open
sea.)
Daruma: Hwa, hwa, ha! Lovely day. I haven't seen Akebi in Osaka for a while!
Good!
(Picture of a nut pendant, which Daruma gave to both of his grandchildren, Ran
Po and Minto, on a tree trunk, near the cliff where Ran Po and Minto jumped
off.)
Daruma: HA! HA! HA!
(Daruma sends his grandchildren off to the promised land of Ryukyu, and Daruma
himself, starts on a journey to go back to his beloved Akebi. The departure of
Ran Po and Minto is something that doesn't change, even if you finish the game
with Ran Po or Minto. Mario and Mei, by the way, are Minto's friends, that she
gets to meet once she is captured in the Razor Trio's castle.)
GARYO THE WHIRLWIND
Age: 35 years old
Height: 1.90 m (6' 2")
Weight: 89 kg (194 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Short sword (which he usually doesn't unseath, so he uses his sheet
mostly as a club.)
Garyo, aka "The Whirlwind", is the leader of a gang thieves running amok in
Riten Kyo. Despite being criminals, Garyo has inspired his followers not to
commit terrible crimes, and respect life. Garyo and his friends hide out in a
cave beneath the Razor Trio's castle. Once spotted by the Razor Trio guards,
the band of thieves, along with Garyo, got captured and sent to the dungeons.
After many weeks, Garyo and his most loyal partner, Cyobi-suke, aka "The Kid",
manage to escape from their captivity, but their fate is not shared by their
comrades. They had already been executed. Garyo returns to his hideout and
vows vengeance against those who killed his friends. Garyo is rather stubborn,
but kind hearted, so much that he instantly felled in love with a fair maiden
called Mikoto, whom he met on a full-moon night. He promises to himself that
one day, she will be his bride. Garyo fights using a thick, short sword, but
he mostly keeps it in its seathe. He does have two arms, but the other hand is
hidden in his shirt.
(Garyo does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 9.)
(Stage 2: vs. Hanzo Hattori. Scene: Thieves' Mine.)
Cyobi: Boss! Wait up!
Garyo: Well, get the lead out! What's with you, Kid?!
Cyobi: You're too fast, Boss.
Garyo: Let's blow this joint! Let's make some distance, quickly!
Cyobi: Yes, sir!
Garyo: Huh? Just a second, Kid!
Cyobi: What, Boss?
Garyo: ...Show yourself!
Cyobi: I'm right here!
Garyo: Not you, putz!
Cyobi: Huh?
Garyo: I'm talkin' to that snake in the grass! Hey, weasel! Show yourself!
Hanzo: If you had shut up, you could have lived!
Garyo: Huh? Say what? Nix a brigand like me? Garyo the Whirlwind?! I'll punish
your rudeness!
Cyobi: You're so cool, Boss! You'll show him!
Garyo: Back off, Kid! You'll get hurt!
Cyobi: Consider me gone, Boss! I'm outta here!
Hanzo: I don't want to fight. But you saw me! You must die!
Garyo: Hah! You defeat me? Guess again, pipsqueak!
(Cyobi-suke is one ugly mutha. He his some kind of Japanese shorty, with edgy
eyes, horse teeth, and beard hairs sticking out like a mess. If you want to
admire him in all his beauty, look at the ending.)
(Stage 9: vs. Mugenji. Scene: Temple Ruins.)
Cyobi: Come on, Boss. Come here quick!
Garyo: What's the rush? Argh! Relax, Kid.
Cyobi: Look at all these blooming flowers!
Garyo: Argh, what's this one-sided flower?
Cyobi: I don't know. But it's splendiforous!
Garyo: I didn't know Riten Kyo had such a nice place. I never even heard of
this kind of place.
Cyobi: It's total heeven!
Garyo: Uh, you mean heaven. Stop grinning. Argh! Let's go!
Cyobi: Where? We're going to that building there? We can go later, Boss. Let's
smell flowers.
Garyo: Argh, Kid! What building? Where?
Cyobi: Hey, I don't know! ...Whoo hee!
Garyo: Oh, Kid! Kid! Oh! Where are you going?
Cyobi: Oh, whoo hee! Behind you!
Garyo: Behind where...? What? Who are you?
Mugenji: Your ugly mug... ...defiles this sacred area. How shameful! Pay with
your lives!
(This actually takes place in the flower field outside the temple ruins, thus
why Cyobi talks about "the building". However, Garyo seems to be a bit thick
to reason.)
(Last boss: Tohma. Cinema: Zero.)
Garyo: Oh! I've found you at last, villain!
Tohma: Who are you?
Garyo: Argh! Get lost! Time for payback! Yes, it's time for my payback! For
roughing up my followers!
Tohma: Uh huh....
Garyo: And kidnapping a virtuous princess.... You will pay, you inhuman filth!
Where is she?! My lovely bride?!
Tohma: Enough nonsense, you foul creature!
Garyo: Argh! I, Garyo on my name and honor... ...will win for the glory of the
brigands!
Tohma: I will not repeat myself, foul beast... ...Perish!
Garyo: Argh! Fancy pants! Garyo will crush you!
(As you can see, Tohma was the one who executed Garyo's comrades. Not so tough
for Tohma, though....he even nixed several Iga Ninjas, too.)
(Ending)
(Garyo and Cyobi overlook Tohma, who is lying on the ground, knocked out cold.
Garyo leans his sword over his shoulder.)
Garyo: Hey, kid. You fought well. But you can't beat me. Not for another
century!
Cyobi: Boss, you're too cool!
Garyo: Huh? Ah, Cyobi! But someone's coming. Oh, go. Hide!
Cyobi: Got ya!
(Mikoto holds Tohma in her arms.)
Mikoto: Who goes there? Tohma? What's wrong, Tohma? Who hurt you?
(Garyo and Cyobi hide behind a pillar in the room. Cyobi is peeking at Tohma
and Mikoto, but Garyo just stands there, listening carefully.)
Garyo: .........
Cyobi: B, Boss. Isn't she your bride?
Garyo: Ssh! Quiet.
Cyobi: Hee, hee. Looks pretty suspicious!
Garyo: .........
(Back to picture of Tohma and Mikoto.)
Mikoto: Tohma. Enough. I...can't bear to see your pain!
(Garyo and Cyobi walk out the castle's gates. Cyobi seems to be a little bit
confused.)
Garyo: Let's go home, Cyobi.
Cyobi: Uh, huh? What about your bride?
Garyo: Don't be such a pain! You can't impede true love. I can take a hint!
Cyobi: You're a true poet, Boss.
Garyo: Good bye, Moon Bride. You showed me heaven.
Cyobi: You're a regular Shakespeare!
(Garyo and Cyobi are in a stable. They are standing in front of a devilish
horse, and a tiny pony. Cyobi looks doubtful.)
Cyobi: Why are we in this stable?
Garyo: Fool! Cyobi, I'm still a thief! I may not have stolen a heart. But I'm
taking Tohma's horse!
Cyobi: All right, Boss!
Garyo: Look. A fine animal.
Cyobi: And my horse.... No way!
Garyo: Cute, huh?
Cyobi: Aw, Boss! You're joking!
(Garyo rides towards the sunset with Tohma's horse.)
Garyo: Hurry up!
Cyobi: Wait, Boss!
Horse: Whee heeee!
Garyo: I'll leave you behind, Kid!
(Ugly mug picture of Cyobi.)
Cyobi: How humiliating!
(Cyobi chases Garyo and both horses towards the sunset.)
Cyobi: Wait, Boss!
(Hmmm...gotta take my cue towards Garyo. Perhaps he is more stronger in heart
than in physique. Cyobi is the comic relief of it all, of course. However, he
is quite an ugly sidekick. So what do you do when you are down by women? Just
steal horses! Hah! :)
HAITO KANAKURA
Age: 19 years old
Height: 1.75 m (5' 7")
Weight: 62 kg (135 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Thin-edged sword
Haito is one of the most feared criminals that live in Riten Kyo. Son of a
Japanese woman and a foreign man, he, along with his fellow-in-crime Yaci
Izanagi, have terrorized the locals, and no one dares to put a halt to them.
The Samurai squad proves to be no match for Haito, who easily takes advantage
of his superior skills and abilities to squeeze money out of his poor victims.
A former bodyguard gone bad, Haito has a sickening obsession for blood,
especially since he loves the color: red. He has grown to love blood, since
Haito himself, is affected with a terrible sickness, that causes him to have
blood-coughing seizures. To control this, Haito often drinks from a special
potion to sooth the pain and grant him extreme abilities. Haito is cold
blooded and ruthless, raised even more by the fact that he was turned down by
his eternal beloved, the fatal female, Saya. With nothing more to live for,
and with his own life at the line, Haito decides to take it all out against
the Razor Trio, as he deems them unfit to rule a island gone wild.
(Haito does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 9.)
(Stage 5: vs. Hanzo Hattori. Scene: Thieves' Mine.)
Iga Ninjas: ...Master!
Hanzo: Yes.
Iga Ninjas: The Razor Trio is in the castle above us. But with all of us, when
we go in... ...we'll have trouble.
Hanzo: Enough second guessing. We're ninja, aren't we? And the Great Master?
Iga Ninjas: I only confirmed two of the Razor Trio.
Hanzo: Hmm. Then find the other's whereabouts.
Iga Ninjas: Yes, Master Hanzo!
Hanzo: Enough. Move out!
Iga Ninjas: Yes, sir!
Haito: ...Hey! Are you a soldier here?
Hanzo: How did you sneak up on me?
Haito: I do it all the time. What's the problem?
Hanzo: You're no mere mortal.
Haito: Who are you under that get-up, friend? I'm asking you!
Hanzo: ...You must die. No hard feelings.
Haito: Hah, ha! You're funny. Now stop clowning! You're serious? Hmm.
Interesting!
(Well, it's obvious: Haito doesn't like law figures at all. No big deal. We
all do.)
(Stage 11: vs. Saya. Scene: Rebels' Camp, daytime.)
Saya: La dee da dee da.... Oh, Haito? If you keep staring at me like that...
..You'll burn a hole right through me!
Haito: ....
Saya: But, I understand. I am HOT, aren't I?
Haito: ...Eh, heh!
Saya: But, I'm afraid you're not my type. Sorry, big boy!
Haito: ...Eh, heh, heh....
Saya: What's with you? Ah, you're dazzled by my great beauty!
Haito: Oh, why did God create such a maiden?
Saya: Beats me....
Haito: Women like you...really tick me off!
Saya: Huh? Don't say...you hate...moi?
Haito: How could I hate such conceit and vanity?
Saya: ...Huh? You jest! Look again, swine! I am not of this backward region!
Haito: How infuriating!
Saya: Hmph! I may not know much about you... ...But you need help with judging
people! Talk about your high-strung males!
Haito: You're arrogant...!
(Nice Haito philosophy: Get rejected by women, kick women's ass! Yeah! That's
the spirit...um...sure! :P)
(Last boss: Tohma. Cinema: Zero.)
Haito: This was too easy. Greetings, Kuki.
Tohma: Who are you, peon?
Haito: Forgotten so soon? We've met before.
Tohma: Met?
Haito: You know me.
Tohma: Get lost. If you want to continue living, know your role!
Haito: Don't be so conceited.
Tohma: Leave me, or perish.
Haito: Say what?! You're delusional! I really hate that.
Tohma: Enough of this talk. Peons heed not reason.
Haito: Why you...! Shut your mouth! You're meat, pal!
(Obviously, Haito and Tohma have met before, but Tohma didn't seem to give it
a lot of importance. So, it's logical to insult each other, eh?)
(Ending)
(Kid Haito watching a woman sewing a cloth.)
Woman: Hey.... What color do you like?
Boy: Red.
Woman: Don't you like blue?
Boy: I like red.
Woman: How about purple?
Boy: Dark colors stink. So I hate nightfall, cherries, the sea. Because
they're dark.
Woman: You've got a lot of hate, kid.
Boy: Red is best. If it's not red, it stinks.
(Kid Haito crouching amidst some Picasso-like children.)
Children: You're that girl's kid, huh? Where's your dad? Yah! A foreign kid!
You mean an alien kid! I bet his blood's green!
Boy: ...No, red... ...My blood's red....
(Haito holding a scarf in his hand, blown by the wind.)
Haito: ...My blood.... My blood is red!
(Haito vomits blood.)
Haito: Cough!
(Haito looking at the ground.)
Haito: Cough! It's your fault...fool! Hmph. You tick me off.
(Black screen.)
Haito: ...
(Haito lying on the ground, almost dead-like.)
Old Man: Son, you shine! Just like a drawn sword.
Haito: ...
Old Man: That's a Shoto sword.
Haito: ...
Old Man: Cross the sea. To the far east. To the Free Country.
Haito: ...
Old Man: Keep faith, son!
Haito: ...Free....
(Zoom out on Haito lying in the middle of a grass field.)
Haito: ...A Freeland.... Cough! HA HA HA HA! Ah, old man. Can one such as I go
there? If it's possible,
(Picture of the sea.)
Haito: I'd like to go.
(The young boy at the beginning is obviously Haito (just take a close look),
and the woman is surely his mother. She was knitting the scarf that Haito
holds in his hand all the time. The old man at the very end is no other than
Daruma, just take a look at his dialogue with Haito. By the way, I think
Daruma sends Haito off to the USA, because I doubt that Daruma would be stupid
enough to send a serial killer to accompany his grandchildren in Ryukyu.)
HANZO HATTORI
Age: Secret
Height: 1.68 m (5' 5")
Weight: 68 kg (148 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Iga Blade
Hanzo Hattori is the legendary leader of the Iga Ninjas, an organization that
secretly serves the Bafuku government. Despite being a master in the arts of
killing, and have slained one too many men, Hanzo is a kind hearted man, and a
warm leader. His many years in the line of duty give him wisdom and deep
knowledge of the evil in the world. However, he must deal with a burden of the
past, which involves the treason of his father, the former leader of the Iga
Ninjas, Jigen Hattori. He is one of the past heroes of the Samurai battles,
along with Haomaru. His current duty is to regain control of Riten Kyo at any
cost.
(Hanzo does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, the other after stage 5.)
(Stage 2: vs. Garyo the Whirlwind. Scene: Thieves' Mine.)
Cyobi: Boss! Wait up!
Garyo: Well, get the lead out! What's with you, Kid?!
Cyobi: You're too fast, Boss.
Garyo: Let's blow this joint! Let's make some distance, quickly!
Cyobi: Yes, sir!
Garyo: Huh? Just a second, Kid!
Cyobi: What, Boss?
Garyo: ...Show yourself!
Cyobi: I'm right here!
Garyo: Not you, putz!
Cyobi: Huh?
Garyo: I'm talkin' to that snake in the grass! Hey, weasel! Show yourself!
Hanzo: If you had shut up, you could have lived!
Garyo: Huh? Say what? Nix a brigand like me? Garyo the Whirlwind?! I'll punish
your rudeness!
Cyobi: You're so cool, Boss! You'll show him!
Garyo: Back off, Kid! You'll get hurt!
Cyobi: Consider me gone, Boss! I'm outta here!
Hanzo: I don't want to fight. But you saw me! You must die!
Garyo: Hah! You defeat me? Guess again, pipsqueak!
(Stage 5: vs. Haomaru. Scene: Samurai Station, daytime.)
Iga Ninjas: You there! Halt!
Haomaru: Halt? Who, me?
Iga Ninjas: We heard your chat in the woods last night.
Haomaru: Why, you nosey bunch of costumed clowns! You're a bit confused. I was
just doing a little star gazing. Last night was lovely.
Iga Ninjas: Hmph. A likely story!
Hanzo: Hold on!
Iga Ninjas: Oh, Master!
Hanzo: You're not enough for this warrior! Back off!
Iga Ninjas: But...!
Hanzo: I said, back off!
Iga Ninjas: Yes, yes, sir!
Haomaru: Long time, no see, Hanzo Hattori!
Hanzo: That is so, Sir Haomaru! Forgive the rudeness of my underlings.
Haomaru: For those who live in the shadows, such behavior is natural.
Hanzo: Thanks for your kind understanding.
Haomaru: But what brings the Iga Ninja here?
Hanzo: Well, um....
Haomaru: The Razor Trio!! You've been sent by the Bafuku authorities?
Hanzo: Where our lord bids, you'll find us there.
Haomaru: I see. The government's finally taken action. Hanzo, can you give me
some time?
Hanzo: Time?
Haomaru: Can you leave the Razor Trio to me?
Hanzo: Hmmm.
Haomaru: By my blade, I'll take care of this!
Hanzo: Sir Haomaru. That I cannot do.
Haomaru: ...You mean, you...?
Hanzo: Sir Haomaru! I've always been a Ninja! I cannot be bound by past
obligations.
Haomaru: I see.... I do not wish to slay one whose life I saved. Do you still
insist on drawing your sword?
Hanzo: Regretfully.
(A nice reunion of old buddies. But why always fight, and not go out for a
pint of sake or something? Such friendship...)
(Last boss: Oboro. Cinema: Metamorphosis.)
Oboro: Hanzo, you've come.
Hanzo: So it's you, Oboro. The Razor Trio's boss.
Oboro: Hah, hah, hah, Hanzo. As if you didn't know.
Hanzo: Get this, Oboro. The Razor Trio is condemned to death.
Oboro: Hanzo. As always, the workaholic assassin. Do you not remember my
charming face?
Hanzo: Huh?
Oboro: Decades ago, I left the clan.... And survived by planning one thing:
Your hideous, gory and complete death! Hah! Our Great Master would be
overjoyed at my Ninja tenacity!
Hanzo: Great Master? You mean Jigen is still alive?
Oboro: Yes! He's immortal! He'll destroy the world you defiled.... ...And
create a world for the Iga!
Hanzo: Immortal?
Oboro: Hah, hah! You'll die a death in ignorance! My regrets, Hanzo!
Hanzo: O, Father! Sullied with such vile sin!
Oboro: Enough drama, you whiney brat! With all my spirit, I focus on one goal:
Slashing you down!
Hanzo: I am Hanzo Hattori! For the sake of all Ninja, you shall die!
(It seems Oboro was a former member of the Iga Ninja, but got kicked out for
obvious reasons. However, it is unknown if it was Hanzo or his father, Jigen,
the one who expelled him. Any way, Oboro is just aching to kick some Hattori
butt!)
(Ending. Cinema: Die..../Prayer)
(Hanzo stands over the dead body of Oboro.)
Hanzo: Those who pledge to avenge our Lord.... Even against the demons. We
will annihilate all. Oboro...! How much you loathe us.... I know not. But such
is fate.
(2 Iga Ninjas kneel before Hanzo.)
Iga Ninjas: Master!
Hanzo: Have you found him?
Iga Ninjas: Yes, Master! In an underground fortress, we discovered his lair.
However...he was already dead.
Hanzo: Dead? So much for immortality. Very well. Gather up the remains. We
shall return to Edo and bury him swiftly.
Iga Ninjas: Yes, Master!
Hanzo: We cannot let others know of this vassal's betrayal.
(Worm view of 3 Iga Ninjas kneeling before Hanzo.)
Iga Ninjas: There's something else.
Hanzo: Well, speak, man!
Iga Ninjas: The fact is.... The corpse was smiling.
Hanzo: Is that so? Did he enjoy his betrayal so? We can't show our lord a
corpse like that, can we?
(Black screen.)
Councillor: Lord! It's horrible!
Lord: What is it?
Councillor: The grounds. An abomination!
Lord: Abomination?
Councillor: Something like a coffin, with three shattered swords.
Lord: What?! A coffin.
(In the main plaza of the palace, the Councillor and the Lord, dressed in
royal clothes, take a peek at the coffin. Lots of Samurais surround the
coffin, ready to face any danger.)
Note: The deed is done. All traitors, terminated. Leader in coffin. Your
faithful servants.
Lord: Hanzo's work? Quickly, open the coffin!
Councillor: Aye, at once!
(The Lord and Councillor inspect the coffin, but the view is blocked by the
coffin's lid. The Samurais take a closer look.)
Lord: What...is this...? Oh....
Councillor: How strange. Something is on it's back.
Lord: It says....
Note: In shame of betrayal, I cannot face my lord. Since the dead cannot
speak, I implore a speedy burial.
Lord: You're wicked, Hanzo. Whatever. Peace is restored. Splendid. I am well
served by all.
(In a dojo room, Hanzo stands in front of a lot of kneeling Iga Ninjas in
several rows.)
Hanzo: Our lord looks pleased. Well done, everyone. Thanks.
Iga Ninjas: Master!
Hanzo: What's wrong?
Iga Ninjas: Master, we salute thee!
Hanzo: I thank you. Such sentiment (sniff).
Iga Ninjas: Yes, Master!
(A ninja stands atop the roof of the dojo, looking at the full-moon night.)
Mystery Man: A ninjas protects unseen. A ninja hides his presence. A ninja
dies in anonymity. I remain a ninja. Hanzo Hattori. My son. Well done, Ninja
Master.
(Jigen fooled all, and either planted a fake cadaver in his place, or played
dead, and nobody noticed. You might think how old Jigen is, since Hanzo must
be pushing his mid-fifties. I want to know, too.)
HAOMARU
Age: 47 years old
Height: 1.73 m (5' 7")
Weight: 69 kg (150 lbs.)</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
Sex: Male
Weapon: Katana
The samurai of legend that has thwarted the forces of evil in the past, comes
back once again, to fight against the corruption and evil feelings brewing in
Riten Kyo. Having aged the past 20 years, Haomaru still conserves the spirit
of a warrior, and his blade is always ready for a fatal duel. After hearing
that his "niece" Mikoto had escaped from the temple where she lived ever since
she was a baby, Haomaru follows her to the cursed island of Riten Kyo. There,
he grows aware of the evil entity at work there, and departs on a journey to
stop the Razor Trio, and fight worthy opponents along the way.
(Haomaru does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 6.)
(Stage 5: vs. Rinka Yoshino. Scene: Rebels' Camp, sunset.)
Rinka: ...
Haomaru: Uh, young lady. Is that your sabre?
Rinka: Who the heck are you?
Haomaru: Forgive me. I couldn't help noticing it.
Rinka: Ya, it's mine. It's my sabre!
Haomaru: Hmm. A young lady like you, a samurai?
Rinka: W, What? Such insolence!
Haomaru: Young lady, why wield a weapon with such sadness?
Rinka: L, Leave me alone!
Haomaru: Uh, forgive me. It's none of my business. But if you wish to quit the
Way of the Samurai, do it now!
Rinka: ...
Haomaru: Godspeed.
Rinka: Wait! I wish a duel.
Haomaru: Huh? Do you wish to increase your sadness?
(Yeah, he says that now, but let's not forget who trained Shizumaru, so why is
he ranting?)
(Stage 10: vs. Tashon Mao. Scene: Forest, night.)
Tashon Mao: Ta dah! I got you!
Haomaru: Ta dah? Who are you?
Tashon Mao: I'm Tashon Mao.
Haomaru: Ta--What?
Tashon Mao: Ta Shon Mao!
Haomaru: So? Whaddya want, Ta Shun Maru?
Tashon Mao: No, no, no! Repeat! Ta Shawn Ma Oh!
Haomaru: What kind of loony are you, silly jerk?
Tashon Mao: Just how are you two involved...?
Haomaru: With who...?
Tashon Mao: With my little fairy? Just how are you two involved?!!!
Haomaru: Fairy...? Been eating some strange mushrooms?
Tashon Mao: The fairy's mine, pal! Mine. And mine alone! Got me, samurai boy?
Haomaru: Whoa, big guy, you're crazy.
Tashon Mao: I, I hate you! I really hate you! You samurai wannabe! You're a
dead man!
(One drinks too much sake, and the other is a loony. No point reasoning.)
(Last boss: Oboro. Cinema: Metamorphosis.)
Haomaru: Forgive me, pops. I've come for the girl you are keeping.
Oboro: Ho, ho, ho! A relative of Mikoto, perhaps? You are a cretin. By what
name are you known, boy?
Haomaru: Haomaru.
Oboro: Haomaru.... Ah, yes. These aged ears have heard of your many exploits!
You've slain many, young warriors! You've trained hard to master the Way of
the Samurai, my boy! A legend in your own time...Haomaru.... You are the same?
Haomaru: I'm honored by your regard of my feats. But I pale to you. You reek
of blood.
Oboro: Hah, hah, hah! Perceptive, to the end. The shrewdness of a survivor of
many battles, you possess! The same blood seethes within the both of us!!!
Haomaru: Yeah, yeah. I like to correct my mistakes with the swing of the
sword.
Oboro: I'm happy to come up against you, Haomaru. Your last battle begins now,
Haomaru.
(Haomaru is no "boy", pops. He's clearly pushing up daisies by now.)
(Ending. Cinema: Die..../Prayer)
(Black screen)
Tohma: I'm not beaten yet! Mikoto. If you truly love me.... Would you die for
me? Wait here. I will be back. To get you and your friend!
Mikoto: Tohma...!!
(Mikoto, standing on a balcony of the Razor Trio castle, looks at the sky.)
Mikoto: Tohma.... Mother, Father. I'm afraid! I can't take it anymore! But I
want to save him. Give me courage...!
Haomaru: Hmph. I knew it! Gone.
(Mikoto looks back at Haomaru, who has his arms crossed.)
Mikoto: Uncle!
Haomaru: That man's a demon! You can't forgive everyone. He can only live by
the sword.
Mikoto: He asked me: If I would die for him?
Haomaru: ...
Mikoto: Uncle, should I wait for him? No matter the consecuences.... I want to
save him. So I'll wait here.
Haomaru: You're quite a woman.
(Haomaru and Mikoto look off the balcony together.)
Mikoto: Ha ha. Your words suit you not.
Haomaru: Like mother, like daughter. You're just like Shiki. I mean, your
mother.
Mikoto: ...My mother?
Haomaru: Your mother too overcome a long period of agony. And you are that
reason. Your red eyes are testament to a loving mother.... And a brave father
who sacrificed himself for her.
Mikoto: Testament to my parents....
Haomaru: Those eyes...can you still not come to forgive?
(Mikoto looks up at the sky.)
Mikoto: Forgive? I think not. These eyes led me to Tohma. And here I will
wait.
Haomaru: Is that so?
(Behind shot of Haomaru putting his hand on Mikoto's shoulder.)
Haomaru: Then you shall not wait alone.
Mikoto: ...Uncle!
Haomaru: Perhaps your grandfather.... Died worrying about you....
Mikoto: What a thing to say!
Haomaru: Hah, hah! Forgive me. But it was he... ...who cared the most. So find
peace, for his sake.
Mikoto: Yes. I can't worry forever, huh? Many await my return. And mother and
father are watching over me. I'll go with you.
Haomaru: OK.
(Haomaru stands alone in the balcony, looking at the sky with arms crossed.)
Haomaru: Tohma. You're like another I know.... Genjuro. This path of Bushido
we walk.... Just where will it take us?
(Mikoto's "grandfather" lived in the temple she lived in until recently.
Interesting reference to Genjuro. When the hell is he coming back? But don't
put him as old as Haomaru.)
IGA NINJAS
Age: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Sex: Male
Weapon: Iga Blade (small version)
The Iga Ninjas are part of the Bafuku government's secret service, that acts
in the shadows, in order to resolve extreme situations. They loyally follow
their leader, Hanzo Hattori, and are willing to forfeit their life in the
battle arena. They are not as skilled as Hanzo, but their lethal assassination
skills are a menace to many of those who oppose the Bafuku government. The Iga
Ninjas have no special moves, nor do they have super moves.
(Iga Ninjas has no dialogues during the game, neither do they meet Nakoruru.)
(Last boss: Oboro. Cinema: Metamorphosis. No dialogue.)
(Ending. Cinema: Die....)
(In a dojo room, Hanzo stands in front of a lot of kneeling Iga Ninjas in
several rows.)
Hanzo: Our lord looks pleased. Well done, everyone. Thanks.
Iga Ninjas: Master! Master, we salute thee!
(Front view of the all the kneeling Iga Ninjas.)
Hanzo: My Lords....
Iga Ninjas: We are the Iga. We are the ultimate!
Hanzo: Unite in devotion!
Iga Ninjas: Yes, sir!
?? Ninja: Huh? The Iga Ninjas?
(One of the Iga Ninjas removes his get-up, but only the lower part of his face
is visible.)
?? Ninja: Something's strange here. I thought this was Koga!
(Several people gather around to look at a sign in the street, children and
women alike.)
Sign: Extra! This area abdicated by the Bakufu. All prisoners are released.
All evil syndicates are destroyed. Who's deed is this? The barriers are gone.
Children have taken flight.
(Close-up of the sign, which shows the picture of the ?? Ninja, and several
Japanese sentences.)
Sign: The Bafuku reports the disappearance of countless samurai. If you know
their location, contact local authorities. This island is to be cut off. All
petty criminals, freed. Notification on serious criminals to come forthwith.
Thank you.
(You can tell the picture on the sign is the same as the ?? Ninja, because of
the sideburns, which are all curled up. It seems that all the missing samurai
were sent to work undercover in the Koga Ninja clan, but went the wrong way,
and now are stuck in the Iga Ninja. It also seems the ?? Ninja is the one you
get to control. Ironic, isn't it?)
JIN-EMON HANAFUSA
Age: 47 years old
Height: 1.57 m (5' 2")
Weight: 73 kg (159 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Naginata with a cross blade
Jin-Emon is one of the most loyal servants to the Bafuku government. Having
served as a samurai way back in the dark ages, Jin-Emon lives according the
honor code of a samurai. He lives to protect his master, and defile all those
who dare attempt to dethrone his lord. He used to train under the orders of
his eternal friend, Kuki, the master of the sword. There, he meets several
youngsters who have helped him regain his lively energy: the young son of
Kuki, Seishiro, who was always quiet and simple-mannered. The other was
Jushiro, a lively, spirited young man, who saw life as an eternal dream
towards the future. However, several things began to go wrong, which involved
his friend Kuki being killed by his other son, Tohma, and the betrayal of
Jushiro. As the most experimented samurai, Jin-Emon is assigned the most
dangerous of his missions: he is to regain control in the prison island of
Riten Kyo, along Seishiro. He is also ordered to kill all those traitors to
the Bafuku....
(Jin-Emon does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, the other after stage 6.)
(Stage 5: vs. Saya. Scene: Rebels' Camp, sunset.)
Saya: So you're the strange samurai stirring up all the commotion.
Jin-Emon: Iggle op dou woon? What's an Englander doing in these parts? Or,
maybe, you're...you're from Holland?
Saya: This is why, geez, I hate samurai! You're such a fool!
Jin-Emon: Wh...ah.... That's...well...ah.... Huh?! Samurai!
Saya: Huh?
Jin-Emon: Ai...won...chu....
Saya: Huh? I want you?
Jin-Emon: Taimu izu manee?
Saya: Huh? Hey, are you flirting with me? Well, you are kind of handsome.
Jin-Emon: Handsome? Yes! Ah, so! Zat izu.... I amu handosome!
Saya: You're too cute to be a samurai!
Jin-Emon: Uh, uh, uh, uh....
Saya: Oh, brother! He's turned beet red! He's boiling!
Jin-Emon: Grr!! GAH!! You dissin' me, babe?
Saya: Bye-bye, cutie! Ah, what a hunk. But I hate samurai!
(Seems like Jin-Emon, besides being shy with women, can't speak foreign
languages too well. Heh heh. And what's with Saya? Prefer Jin-Emon over Haito?
Is it any wonder I totally dislike this bimbo?)
(Stage 11: vs. Mugenji. Scene: Town Plaza, storm.)
Jin-Emon: Whoa hoa, sire! Yet we meet again?
Mugenji: Oh my Lord! I sentence this wretch to death!
Jin-Emon: What's your trip, my confused friend?!
Mugenji: Oh Darkness! Make me shine! Light the path of your merciful servant.
Jin-Emon: I repeat, who are you, my confused friend?
Mugenji: To answer you, sir, is to say nothing.
Jin-Emon: Spare me the riddles! Tell me. Who are you?!
(This is weird: Jin-Emon fights Mugenji on stage 6, and again in stage 11. He
must be getting sick of Mugenji's eerie speeches.)
(Last boss: Tohma. Cinema: Zero.)
Jin-Emon: I thought it was you. One of the Razor Trio...who fights like the
Demon Spirit. I didn't think that I would meet you here.
Tohma: Quiet! Minion of a corrupt, spent world!
Jin-Emon: Denier of filial piety! Executor of patricide! You don't understand.
You debase the Samurai!
Tohma: Hmph. You cannot see the art I personify!
Jin-Emon: But I will show you the Way of the Samurai! Mine is the spirit if
all true samurai!
Tohma: Yadda, yadda, yadda! You talk a good fight. Come on, pansy-boy!
(It doesn't seem Jin-Emon wants to exact revenge against Tohma so much. He
prefers to show him the real ways of a samurai. Yeah, well, sure, if you
can....)
(Ending)
(On a grass field in sunset, Jin-Emon, seen from behind, faces Jushiro, who is
giving his back towards Jin-Emon.)
Jin-Emon: After you disappeared, I got orders from the Bakufu. Orders to find
you. I wanted to continue to live with you as my friend. Never to meet again.
Jushiro: You insist on fighting?
Jin-Emon: I am a samurai. A samurai must give his life in the service of his
lord. And the lord must live to protect the nation.
Jushiro: Hey, Jin-Emon. If we're reborn in an age where samurai are
obsolete.... ...Let us again raise our glasses in friendship.
Jin-Emon: Understood. I promise.
Jushiro: To that end, I must destroy you!
Jin-Emon: I doubt it!
Jushiro: ...
Jin-Emon: ...
(Jushiro and Jin-Emon ready for combat.)
Jushiro: YHA!
Jin-Emon: HA!
(Black screen.)
Jushiro: ...
Jin-Emon: Guuu.
(Jin-Emon lying on the floor. Jushiro is giving his back to him...again.)
Jushiro: Forgive me. I must move on.
Jin-Emon: I will pursue you no longer. But no matter how often you change your
identity.... ...The Bakufu will find you.
(Close-up of Jin-Emon on the ground.)
Jin-Emon: Go now, Jushiro. Remember our promise! To realize our dreams.
(Jin-Emon is aided by Saya, who lies Jin-Emon's head on her lap.)
Jin-Emon: Huh?! I swear...I was cut. Jushiro, you.... 'Tis but a scratch. Huh?
Mistress Saya. Oufff.
Saya: No, stay still.
Jin-Emon: I'm obliged.
Saya: He's gone, isn't he?
Jin-Emon: Yes.
Saya: He told me: Men are born to pursue their dreams. His pursuit
continues.... ...Throwing away everything. Sir Jin-Emon?
Jin-Emon: Yes?
Saya: Why are women so taken with men like Jushiro?
Jin-Emon: Mistress....
Saya: But no woman could ever stay with him.
Jin-Emon: Saya.
Saya: Finally, women appreciate... ...a person who will hold on to them
tightly.
(Saya leans over to Jin-Emon. Jin-Emon is a tad surprised.)
Saya: Jin-Emon? Will you hold on to me tight?
Jin-Emon: What!
Saya: Jin-Emon. Here? Outside like this?!
Jin-Emon: What! What!
Saya: You're cute when you blush.
(Saya pulls back, as Jin-Emon enters nose-bleeding spasms.)
Saya: Oh, what's wrong? Ah! Blood's everywhere!
Jin-Emon: ...oh....
(Far shot of Saya and Jin-Emon just like before.)
Saya: Hang in there!
Jin-Emon: Hey! Watch it...!
(The nose bleeding is a typical sign of excitement, mostly seen in elder
males. And I mean, well, "adult" excitement, if ya know what I mean. Hail Jin-
Emon, the anti-Casanova!)
JUSHIRO SAKAKI
Age: 27 years old
Height: 1.75 m (5' 7")
Weight: 65 kg (141 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Sword with a gun-handle.
Jushiro is a daydreamer that was once part of the samurai squad of the Bafuku
government. Thus, being an outstanding warrior, he was assigned to train with
the great samurai master, Kuki. Kuki took Jushiro in like if he were his own
son, and Jushiro soon became acquainted with his fellow trainees: Seishiro and
Tohma, both sons of Kuki. However, both of them liked to keep to themselves,
and ignore everything else. So, Jushiro made friends with the veteran samurai,
Jin-Emon, and both became best comrades. It was one woman, although, that
changed Jushiro's world. Her name was Karen, one of the few female samurais
working for the Bafuku. Jushiro loved her lively spirit and charming manners,
but Karen was a loyal follower of the Way of the Samurai, and decided to put
her duties before personal feelings. One day, word came out that the princess
was threatened by death by some fellow only known as Oboro. Baring a striking
resemblance to the princess, Karen was chosen as the decoy to lure Oboro in.
Jushiro opposed, but Karen kept up anyway. An entire unit was assigned to
protect the fake "princess". As previewed, Oboro attacked. However, it wasn't
previewed that Oboro would be so powerful, and in no time, he eliminated all
the samurais, and mortally wounded the princess. Having heard this, Jushiro
ran to Karen's side, but it was too late: she was far beyond hope. Disgusted
and torn apart, Jushiro quits the samurai legion. Having been encountered
alone in the butchering site, Jushiro was aimed as the main suspect, and sent
to Riten Kyo. There, he joins with female warriors Saya and Rinka to form the
Atom Rebels, an anti-Bafuku group. This enraged his former superiors even
more, and becomes the main target of extermination. However, for some odd
reason, Jushiro tends to worry more about her female friends, than the fact
that he has been targeted. Can Jushiro survive the Bafuku assault?
(Jushiro does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, the other after stage 5.)
(Stage 5: vs. Haito Kanakura. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Haito: ...
Jushiro: What? Need something?
Haito: What are you doing with that woman?
Jushiro: Woman...? Oh, you mean Saya?
Haito: Tell me! I'm asking you!
Jushiro: Well, uh, it's just the way it is now.
Haito: The way it is?
Jushiro: Do you love her? You love Saya?!
Haito: Hey, watch it, pal!
Jushiro: Now, now. Calm down! I'm just joking. Sorry!
Haito: You and that woman just tick me off!
Jushiro: You've lost it, bud!
(One, tormented by the death of his beloved. The other, haunted by the
rejection. And...can you tell I am a scorned little preppie? Arrrrrgh! :P)
(Stage 8: vs. Seishiro Kuki. Scene: Wasteland.)
Seishiro: Hmph.
Jushiro: ...Huh?!!! Hey! Don't I know you!
Seishiro: You gave up training, but not the sword, huh?
Jushiro: Oh, yeah! Now I recall! You're that punk, huh?
Seishiro: Can the insults!
Jushiro: Hah, hah! Still a snotty little brat!
Seishiro: Sorry, now I'm gonna slice you like a ham!
Jushiro: If you're sorry, then don't do it!
(It looks like Seishiro and Jushiro are still not in the best of terms. It
looks like the class of Kuki was one vengeful one!)
(Last boss: Oboro. Cinema: Metamorphosis.)
Jushiro: I've been looking for you, Oboro!
Oboro: You dare challenge a samurai god like me?
Jushiro: Seven years ago.... The samurai you slew.... The reason they were
slain like dogs.... I crave an answer from a "god" like you.
Oboro: Seven years ago? You think I'd worry about such 'minutiae'?
Jushiro: 'Minutiae', you say?!
Oboro: To build a tall and solid castle.... One does not worry about crushed
ants.
Jushiro: Why, you....
Oboro: The age of the weak and feeble is over! Now the strong noble shall
rule! Yah, hyah, hyah! That animal glare! ...You, too, have the will to
survive! Join me, Jushiro!
Jushiro: Hmph!
Oboro: All will be realized and begin from here.... When the One arrives!
Jushiro: Uh huh....
Oboro: For an outsider such as yourself.... Our offer, I'm sure, has a certain
appeal....
Jushiro: ...Like rotting fish!
Oboro: You insolent cur!
Jushiro: Your feculent paradise, Oboro.... Is built on the corpses of
innocents!
Oboro: Whine on, runt! A punk like you... ...will soon understand their pain
and sorrow!
Jushiro: ...I think not!
(Well, considering the fact he killed his girl, means something, no?)
(Ending. Cinema: Die..../Prayer)
(Black and white picture of Jushiro, with a ponytail, leaning against a wall
of a village house. In front of him is a woman with samurai clothes and
ponytail, as well.)
Jushiro: You've decided to become the princess' double?
Karen: What of it?
Jushiro: Why?!
Karen: Why? To serve my lord. The duty of a samurai.
Jushiro: If you go, you may not return.
Karen: You'll protect me, won't you?
(Black screen.)
Jushiro: Wait, Karen!
(Black and white picture of Jushiro holding a dying Karen in his hands, in the
middle of a strong rain. Karen is wearing a typical kimono and hat.)
Karen: I regret not my decision. To die not as a woman, but as a true samurai.
(Black screen.)
Jushiro: Is being a samurai worth dying for, Karen?
(Jushiro faces the screen in the middle of a grass field, at sunset. Jin-Emon
is behind him.)
Jin-Emon: You can't give her up, huh?
Jushiro: Oh, it's you.
Jin-Emon: The pain of betrayal hasn't gone away, huh?
Jushiro: I want to remove it, but I know not how to do it.
Jin-Emon: After you disappeared, I got orders from the Bakufu. Orders to find
you. I wanted to continue to live with you as my friend. Never to meet again.
(Jushiro slightly turns around to face Jin-Emon, with his hand on his sword.
Jin-Emon is already on-guard.)
Jushiro: You insist on fighting?
Jin-Emon: Like Karen, I'm a samurai.... A samurai must give his life in the
service of his lord. And the lord must live to protect the nation.
Jushiro: Hey, Jin-Emon. If we're reborn in an age where samurai are
obsolete.... ...Let us again raise our glasses in friendship.
Jin-Emon: Understood. I promise.
Jushiro: To that end, I must destroy you!
Jin-Emon: I doubt it!
Jushiro: ...
Jin-Emon: ...
(Jushiro and Jin-Emon go at it in battle.)
Jushiro: YHA!
Jin-Emon: HA!
(Black screen.)
Jushiro: ...
Jin-Emon: Guuu.
(Jin-Emon kneels on the ground, while clutching his side. Jushiro gives his
back towards him.)
Jushiro: Forgive me. I must move on. I'm no longer my older self.
Jin-Emon: But no matter how often you change your identity.... ...The Bakufu
will find you. Go now, Jushiro. Remember our promise! To realize our dreams.
(Jushiro holds his sword, and looks at the sunset.)
Jushiro: Bye, Jin-Emon.
(As you can see, the result of the duel doesn't change depending on who you
finish the game with. Jushiro still kicks Jin-Emon's ass :). Oh, and by the
way, Jushiro left the samurais because he was disgusted at their philosophy of
sacrificing themselves for their lords, which was what finally cost his
beloved Karen her life. Also, he is obsessed with protecting Saya and Rinka
because he wants to make up for what he didn't do with Karen. A sad fellow,
but understandable....)
MIKOTO
Age: 19 years old
Height: 1.60 m (5' 1")
Weight: 44 kg (96 lbs.)
Sex: Female
Weapon: Sky Blade
Mikoto is the sole daughter of the great warriors, Asra and Shiki. Both Asra
and Shiki were servants to Yuga, the great evil force that tormented the world
20 years ago, and even Shiki was one of the daughters of Yuga. Both of her
parents died bravely in order to save the world from Yuga's menace. Before her
mother died, Shiki gave Mikoto up to adoption a Buddhist temple, and left.
Haomaru was left in charge of her, as well as her "grandfather", who lived in
the temple. Since then, Mikoto has considered Haomaru like an uncle to her.
However, her cursed blood was not to be denied, but since Mikoto lived amidst
a peaceful climate, there was nothing to worry. That was, until the point a
man named Tohma arrived at the temple one day to hide from his persecutors.
Mikoto found this man mysterious, and full of enigmas. However, she couldn't
stop feeling attraction for this man who lived passionately for what he craved
for. She also felt incredible sadness in his heart, and couldn't bear to see
him suffer. So, Mikoto decided to leave the temple and accompany Tohma to
Riten Kyo, where he soon established conditions of leadership, along with the
enigmatic old man, Oboro. They formed the "Razor Trio", and although she is
not completely evil, Mikoto can't ignore the call for bloodshed, as if
something deep within her blood was summoning her....
(Mikoto does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 8.)
(Stage 2: vs. Garyo the Whirlwind. Scene: Oboro's Sanctuary.)
Garyo: Oh! We meet at last, Honey! In person.... ...You're a cutie!
Terrifyingly beautiful! You shine like the rays of the moon!
Mikoto: Do you have business with me?
Garyo: I am the evening for you to cherish! Oh! But why must you always look
so sad?
Mikoto: My emotional state is of no concern of yours.
Garyo: Oh! But don't worry. Your abductor... ...has been fully punished by me.
So be at ease, and be my lovely bride.
Mikoto: Oh, ho, ho! You're a comic. But please stop the comedy routine....
Garyo: Oh! I sense things are not going my way!
Mikoto: Enough talk, ogre. If you truly love me.... Sacrifice yourself!
Garyo: Whoa! A flirt! Can't we talk this matter over, first? No? Then I'll
show you who'll wear the pants!
(Typical feminist vs. big macho man. Notice what Mikoto says to Garyo at the
end, and now look at Tohma's section...that's what I would call "extreme
love", indeed.)
(Stage 6: vs. Yaci Izanagi. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Mikoto: What do you want, you lowly bat boy?
Yaci: Why you! Your conceit... ...will bring you an early end!
Mikoto: Ho! Ho! Scold me? You've got spunk! For a commoner.
Yaci: I'll slice that smirk off your face!
Mikoto: A vile beast like you? You haven't a chance, impudent brute.
Yaci: You're an obstacle. With your death.... The Razor Trio shall welcome my
services.
Mikoto: Whoa, ho, ho! Quite a theory. But why would he take in his midst.... A
dim-witted peasant like you? You speak pure nonsense!
Yaci: 'He'...? Hah! You.... You're in love with that Kuki guy, right?
Mikoto: W, What? Preposterous! What would I do with....
Yaci: Shall we say, Bingo? You pompous poseur! I'll use your head as brick-a-
brack!
(Umm...can anybody tell me what's a "brick-a-brack"?)
(Stage 8: vs. Minto. Scene: Temple Ruins.)
Mikoto: ...A dark shadow.... Darkness. Blackness.... Who may you be? (evil
grin) Who...? Are you the one who summoned me? (normal face) I summoned
you...? (evil grin) I was aware of it. Your spirit.... This soul born of evil
is your true essence! (normal face) My true essence.... (evil grin) The time's
come. Shed those wings! Be free! Master the darkness, know the only reality!
(normal face) ...No.... Unacceptable! I did not summon you! (evil grin) Fear
me not! For you ARE me! Release me, and destroy all! Only in destruction, can
true Darkness come! (normal face) H, Help me! S, Someone! (evil grin) Destroy
it all! Destroy Tohma! (normal face) No! Someone save me! I can't stand it!
I'm doomed! Aah!
Minto: (in black) Boss, look!
Mikoto: Ah....
Minto: (appears) Whoa ho! Why? Why do you cry?
Mikoto: ...Who are...you?
Minto: Let's see. Minto! I am Minto, I am! Hey! Nice hair!
Mikoto: Th, Thank you!
Minto: Are you Mikoto?
Mikoto: Why do you ask?
Minto: Mario told me so. Mikoto is gorgeous, he told me, Minto. Wow! You work
out? Nice biceps!
Mikoto: Heh! Uh Minto.... An unusual name!
Minto: Like Mikoto isn't? You know, Mikoto.... You look like Ran Po. Are you
related?
Mikoto: Huh? Ran Po?
Minto: Yeah! Ran Po! But Ran Po.... He had Minto. So he'll be okay!
Mikoto: I think so. You'd make a good friend.
Minto: Wha--? Whaddya mean?
Mikoto: I don't have friends....
Minto: Then Minto and Mikoto will be friends. Mario's a friend, too!
Mikoto: ...Thank you. Mario...?
Minto: Get better, my friend! ...Huh? What?
Mikoto: Ooh! He's coming.... The dark shadow...! Minto, run away...!
Qui...ck...ly....
Minto: Yah! It's pitch black! I got a bad feeling!
Mikoto: Run...away...! <Rumble, rumble>
Minto: Now I'm angry!
(Remember how Shiki was pretty good with kids? Well, so does Mikoto. Must be a
heritage thingy. Oh, and by the way, why Mikoto appears so evil, is that she
is being possessed by Yuga. More later....)
(Last boss: Yuda. Cinema: Pain.)
Mikoto: Someone...save me! I can no longer resist! <Destroy everything!!>
Grand...father.... Help me. Save me! Grandfather.... The...pain...! Fa...ther!
Please.... (evil grin) Ka ka ka ka. Whoo hoo! Heh, heh, heh. A stubborn
specimen! Accept me... ...and end your pain. Darkness comes for us. It will
save us.... Love it! The Dark One will set us free! It's been an eternity: Our
imprisonment.... How many await my soul's release? He comes! He comes!
Yuda: ...You summoned me?!
Mikoto: Ah.... Love me! Ah! Yes! I called you! It was I, my servant! Hail!
Hail, Yuda! Set me free!
Yuda: It was not you. You summoned me not!
Mikoto: Wh...! What?! How dare you?! Yes, it was I! I summoned you!
Yuda: Asra! The portal once shut, has opened again!
Mikoto: What do you mean? Oh noooooooooo!
Yuda: Your soul should have been destroyed a long time ago! You were born to
be destroyed!
Mikoto: Please, I beseech you! Save me, noble sir!
Yuda: You who rule time, here you'll remain!
(Comes to show you, NO ONE messes with the Yuda-meister, or else, you'll earn
yourself a world of pain! Guess again, Yuga whore!)
(Ending)
(Mikoto, still possessed, is seen from behind, standing in front of a kneeling
Yuda.)
Mikoto (Devil): Ho, ho, ho, ho. If you'd listened to me, you could've spared
the pain. Let me go. And return this weak soul to the nothingness it came
from. Release me now.
Yuda: You plan her transmigration? Guess again!
Mikoto (Devil): You wish more pain?
Yuda: You were born for destruction.
(Yuda's hand is seen, extended and glowing. Suddenly, Mikoto is wrapped up in
chains.)
Mikoto (Devil): What is this? You pretentious twit! Ghu!
Yuda: Have you forgotten, Yuga?
Mikoto (Devil): Ghuaaaaa!
Yuda: I am Asra the Avenger! Resurrected Lord of Darkness!
(Black screen.)
Yuda: Perish!
Mikoto (Devil): GIIII! .........
(Mikoto appears naked, but only her silhouette can be seen. Behind her is
Yuda, giving his back to her. The backdrop is dream-like.)
Mikoto (Angel): Asra.... You bear my father's name! And have my red eyes! Just
who are you?
Yuda: Listen. From here on, this is no place for you.
Mikoto (Angel): Are you...my father?
Yuda: I am Yuda.
Mikoto (Angel): Wait. Please wait. I beseech you. ...........
(Mikoto cuddles up, surrounded by light.)
Asra: Mikoto. My dear child.
Mikoto (Angel): Father.
Shiki: Forgive me, Mikoto.
Mikoto (Angel): Mother.
(Shiki and Asra float above Mikoto's lying body. The background looks like
heaven or something.)
Asra: Mikoto, hear me! Follow him not! He is me, but not me.
Shiki: Mikoto, our lovely child. Live. Live as you desire. Fly away with pure
wings.
Asra: Your darkness is gone.
Mikoto (Angel): Mother. Father. Where?
Shiki: We are always....
Asra: ...with you, daughter.
(Mikoto stands up, bearing angel wings behind her back.)
Mikoto (Angel): And I...with you.... I shall live! Live as I desire. And fly
with all my might! Fly on invisible wings!
(OK, so here's the deal: Yuga actually sent Asra, with amnesia, to liberate
her as she possessed Mikoto's body. This way, he would kill Mikoto's soul, and
permit Yuga to have a new body. However, she didn't know that Asra would
retain his memory, and put an end to her. However, Asra's new body is still
envolved with evil intent, hence Asra's warning. And no, the whole
"Angel/Devil" deal was not intended to make fun of the Angel/Devil from the
Tekken series.)
MINTO
Age: 7 years old.
Height: 1.35 m (4' 3")
Weight: 32 kg (71 lbs.)
Sex: Female
Weapon: Cat Paw Pole
Minto has been an orphan for as much as she remembers from her short life. She
was taken in by Daruma, a kind old man, along with Ran Po. Minto has grown to
admire and love Ran Po a lot, and cares for him so much, that she would do
anything. Being a young girl of her age, Minto is a curious being by nature,
and takes everything as a game, which is a serious contrast to the tense
climate in Riten Kyo. One day, Minto went out wandering about in the forest,
and suddenly came across a huge castle atop a hill. Anxious to know what it
is, Minto enters the castle, but doesn't last long enough before she gets
caught. Trapped in the castle, she gets to meet the two young castle maids:
Mario and Mei. She makes two great friends, and thanks to them, she can
finally wander outside the castle, and take a last trip throughout Riten Kyo,
before she is sent off to Ryukyu, a land of peace.
(Minto does not meet Nakoruru.)
(Stage 3: vs. Tashon Mao. Scene: Forest, daytime.)
Tashon Mao: Oh no! Like, super oh no! I can't find my little pixy! If this
keeps up, she'll hate me!
Minto: Wiggle, wiggle, boom, boom.... My secret garden's turning dark!
Tashon Mao: Ah! She's here!
Minto: Whah?!
Tashon Mao: W, What was that charming ditty? Kind of racy!
Minto: What's it to you, ya big pork dumpling?
Tashon Mao: How rude, you are!
Minto: You prefer...rice ball?
Tashon Mao: That's cruel! Who d'ya think you are? That bitter tone doesn't fit
you at all!
Minto: Look, birds in Ryukyu can't fly. Granpa said so. That's weird!
Tashon Mao: What are you talking about?
Minto: That's what I mean. They're like noodles!
Tashon Mao: Birds? Noodles? What're you saying?
Minto: What's in a pork dumpling, big boy?
Tashon Mao: Huh? You dissin' me?
Minto: Dissin' a big, scary boy like you?
Tashon Mao: What are you babbling on about? I'm gonna swat you! Like a big
mosquito!
Minto: You're beet red! Like bean bread!
(Yeah, that is pretty confusing, and quite annoying too. Kind of reflects
Minto rather well. Makes Tashon Mao look like Einstein.)
(Stage 5: vs. Hanzo Hattori. Scene: Thieves' Mine.)
Hanzo: In this gold mine.... There is a path to the castle. But where?
Minto: Hey, old guy! Whatcha doing?
Hanzo: Who are you?
Minto: Aren't you hot in that get-up?!
Hanzo: Hanzo Hattori. You've screwed up! Snuck on by this little tyke!
Minto: Yah ha! Old guy! You look shocked!
Hanzo: Are you an agent of the Razor Trio?
Minto: Uh? When it rains at night, the sea stinks!
Hanzo: Hmmm. You're right. Why does that happen?
Minto: I'm telling the truth. It really reeks!
Hanzo: Yeah, you're right!
Minto: Wow! You're a real pain, aren't you? You'll be the ruin of this fine
country!
Hanzo: You know, that's been worrying me, too!
Minto: Yeah. Minto and Ran Po, someday.... We're going to go to Ryukyu! There
are all these shiny fish there! My Granpa says so.
Hanzo: You mean...the Ryukyu kingdom?
Minto: Yeah! Ryukyu! Can I have some money?
Hanzo: Money? ...Uh? Hey, you a grifter?
Minto: Come on, cough it up!
Hanzo: Why you little brat! I'll teach you manners!
Minto: You're a cheapskate! And your clothes suck!
Hanzo: My clothes?! And such language!
(Minto truly takes from her grandfather, Daruma, the bad habit of asking
money. However, if Daruma uses it for booze, what does Minto use it for? Pork
dumplings? Heh heh.)
(Stage 9: vs. Mugenji. Scene: Temple Ruins.)
Minto: A big skull mask with a big skull face! It's coming to get all you bad
little kids! Boo. His name is Dolph the Skull man!
Mugenji: What are you doing on my sacred ground?
Minto: Yah! Hey, nice clothes!
Mugenji: I warned you! Enter here again... ...and I'll purify it with your
blood!
Minto: Hey, booty man! I made a song for you.
Mugenji: Your existence clouds people's pure hearts.
Minto: Here I go! 'Whoosh, whoosh. Shake it, yeah! Shucka shucka sho I'm booty
man! Over there, shooka shoo! Over here, whoo hoo hee! But, oh, that hair's
gotta go! No, no, no, no! Yes, the hair's gotta go!' (Repeat).
Mugenji: You little imp! With you being here.... ...The butterflies come no
longer.
Minto: Maybe it's you, you crazy freak!
Mugenji: Keeeeee!
(That song pretty much makes up everything. Wonder how it would sound like
with music?)
(Last boss: Mikoto. Cinema: Angel)
Mikoto: ...A dark shadow.... Darkness. Blackness.... Who may you be? (evil
grin) Who...? Are you the one who summoned me? (normal face) I summoned
you...? (evil grin) I was aware of it. Your spirit.... This soul born of evil
is your true essence! (normal face) My true essence.... (evil grin) The time's
come. Shed those wings! Be free! Master the darkness, know the only reality!
(normal face) ...No.... Unacceptable! I did not summon you! (evil grin) Fear
me not! For you ARE me! Release me, and destroy all! Only in destruction, can
true Darkness come! (normal face) H, Help me! S, Someone! (evil grin) Destroy
it all! Destroy Tohma! (normal face) No! Someone save me! I can't stand it!
I'm doomed! Aah!
Minto: (in black) Boss, look!
Mikoto: Ah....
Minto: (appears) Whoa ho! Why? Why do you cry?
Mikoto: ...Who are...you?
Minto: Let's see. Minto! I am Minto, I am! Hey! Nice hair!
Mikoto: Th, Thank you!
Minto: Are you Mikoto?
Mikoto: Why do you ask?
Minto: Mario told me so. Mikoto is gorgeous, he told me, Minto. Wow! You work
out? Nice biceps!
Mikoto: Heh! Uh Minto.... An unusual name!
Minto: Like Mikoto isn't? You know, Mikoto.... You look like Ran Po. Are you
related?
Mikoto: Huh? Ran Po?
Minto: Yeah! Ran Po! But Ran Po.... He had Minto. So he'll be okay!
Mikoto: I think so. You'd make a good friend.
Minto: Wha--? Whaddya mean?
Mikoto: I don't have friends....
Minto: Then Minto and Mikoto will be friends. Mario's a friend, too!
Mikoto: ...Thank you. Mario...?
Minto: Get better, my friend! ...Huh? What?
Mikoto: Ooh! He's coming.... The dark shadow...! Minto, run away...!
Qui...ck...ly....
Minto: Yah! It's pitch black! I got a bad feeling!
Mikoto: Run...away...! <Rumble, rumble>
Minto: Now I'm angry!
(Ending)
(On a grass field, Minto and Mei are sitting together, and Mario stands next
to them. Ran Po stands on a nearby rock. Daruma rushes in waving his
sword/stick.)
Daruma: Hey! Here I come!
Minto: Here I go.
(Daruma stands in front of Ran Po and Minto, which are seen from behind. Mario
and Mei stand aside.)
Ran Po: You fly like a pro.
Daruma: HA! HA! HA! A fluke. I study the wind.
Minto: I see.
Daruma: Listen well to Ran Po.
Minto: And you will survive.
Daruma: HA! HA! HA!
Mario: Are you really going, Minto?
Minto: Yup. Straight to Ryukyu.
Mario: Ryukyu's far, I bet. Mei will be devastated.
Daruma: You are all still young. With resolve, you can go anywhere you desire.
(Minto walks over to where Mei is, who is looking down. Ran Po and Mario are
behind them, not paying attention.)
Minto: Are you sad, Mei? Why?
Mei: ..........
Minto: Mei and I are friends. Good luck, friend. You're a good girl.
Mei: ..........
Daruma: She's sad you are going.
Minto: When you grow up, come see us, Mei!
Mei: ...Okay.
Ran Po: I'm here!
Daruma: Stay well, you two.
(Ran Po and Minto jump off a cliff. Daruma, Mario, and Mei see them off.)
Ran Po: Farewell, my town.
Minto: Bye bye!
Ran Po: HA!
Minto: Yeah!
Mei: M.... ...Minto! Bye bye! I'll play with Mario! We'll meet again.
(Black screen.)
Daruma: They're gone.
Mario: A strange couple.
Mei: We'll meet again. For sure.
(Ran Po and Mei fly through the air.)
Song: Kick open the doors. And bathe in sunlight. This town's too dark. So
search for the moon path. In this town, the heart dies.
(Ran Po stands atop a rock on a beach.)
Song: You cannot mope. Shove the gloom away. No one will teach you. So do it
yourself.
(From behind, you can see Minto waving at Ran Po, with 2 sharks in a line in
her hand.)
Song: Don't give up. Let's you and I find a place. And bend to nothing. Let's
you and I find tomorrow.
(Pretty dumb ending, considering the childish song, and well, pointless
dialogues. Let's hope Minto STAYS in Ryukyu, and doesn't come back again.)
MUGENJI
Age: 35 years old
Height: 1.85 m (6' 1")
Weight: 78 kg (170 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Scimitar
Mugenji is a serial killer that lives within the woods surrounding Riten Kyo.
At night, when all is quiet, he takes advantage of the darkness to prowl the
area, and any victim that dares get in his way, will be slain swiftly. Mugenji
is a very violent warrior, that loves the sight of blood and suffering, which
he considers an art in its own way. Despite his violent nature, he likes to
admire flowers in his personal flower field, that surrounds the ancient ruins
of a temple. His obsession for butterflies is only rivaled by that of killing.
Knowing no other way than killing in means of purification, Mugenji will slay
all those who get in his way, regardless of age or sex.
(Mugenji does not meet Nakoruru...which is obvious.)
(Stage 2: vs. Jin-Emon Hanafusa. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Jin-Emon: Whew! What a dark, creep night this is! Especially this town! Gives
me the creeps! If a ghost appeared, I wouldn't be phased.
Mugenji: (in black) ...
Jin-Emon: Huh? What...? I heard something!
Mugenji: ...
Jin-Emon: I, I, I knew it! I DID hear something! W, W, Who are you?
Mugenji: (appears) Keeee yaaaaah!
Jin-Emon: Whaaah! I mean.... What are you?!
(Stage 8: vs. Rinka Yoshino. Scene: Forest, night.)
Rinka: Sorry, Tetsunosuke. Dinner'll be late. Come on!
Tetsunosuke: <Unh! Unh!>
Rinka: That Jushiro. What a meanie! <Laugh when sad, and save the world> Silly
optimist! I was so angry.... I tossed our dinner on the ground!
Tetsunosuke: <...Unh....>
Rinka: But I couldn't help it. I can't overcome it.... ...I can't supress my
weak will. I can't help but think I'll be hurt.
Tetsunosuke: <Unh!>
Rinka: You're so sweet, baby! ...Thank you!
Tetsunosuke: <Uuuuuunh!>
Rinka: ...Huh? That smell. What is that breeze? ...Flowers?
Tetsunosuke: <Sniff, sniff, sniff>
Rinka: What, Tetsunosuke? You're shaking!
Tetsunosuke: <Anh! Anh!>
Mugenji: Young lady, you bear the pain of betrayal.
Rinka: Who are you?! Mr. Nosey pants?
Mugenji: Don't get excited! It means death! Accept solitude!
Rinka: What are you? Keep up the babble, and you're dog meat!
Mugenji: Oh! My flower for the dark regions... ...blooms too soon!
Rinka: Quit it! Stop!
Mugenji: If you wilt, it's no fault of mine! With your blood, my flower
blooms!
Rinka: You're insane!
(...And sounds like a pervert. Geez, Mugenji's talk really makes him sound
nasty. But when it does it with girls...it just doesn't sound right. Ugh!)
(Stage 11: vs. Jushiro Sakaki. Scene: Rebels' Camp, sunset.)
Jushiro: So who's the flower?
Saya: Not a flower...a butterfly.
Jushiro: Butterfly? You mean that flying guy?
Saya: Yeah! I've never seen anything so scary!
Jushiro: Scary? Such a strong guy is after you? Ouch!
Saya: Don't joke about it! If he was closer.... ...I'd be tomorrow's news
board. No way!
Jushiro: Ha ha! That's funny. You may be right! Were you hurt?
Saya: A little. But not bad. You should see him! I hope it doesn't leave a
scar...<sob>. But Rinka was really sliced up!
Jushiro: No way? Rinka too? Injuring two women in my charge.... He's really
insane!
Saya: He's not normal. And he's incredibly tough. Terrifying!
Jushiro: Well, relax. If I catch sight of him.... ...I'll run like crazy!
Saya: ...You're horrible!
Jushiro: Thanks.
Saya: Jushiro...! Why are you always such a sarcastic pain?
Jushiro: Because I'm a man! What a dumb question!
Saya: Huh?
Jushiro: The more incompetent, the cuter we are.
Saya: A loser's conventional wisdom, I bet, huh?
Jushiro: I don't think so....
Saya: ...
Jushiro: Well, I'm popular with other samurai.
Saya: I'll ignore that. Hey! It's him, Jushiro!
Jushiro: Act hurt a little, and the man's a monster! <SMACK!> Ouch! Ya didn't
have to hit me!
Saya: You've got a bullseye face.... You big dope!
Jushiro: ...Watch after Rinka!
Mugenji: Now where are those two sexy sacrifices? Oh, I know!
Jushiro: Sorry, putz! I'm not your type!
Mugenji: ...
Jushiro: Hey, it's just a joke! No way! You're serious?
Mugenji: Keeeeee heeeee!
(Jushiro is da man! He really likes to play tough with the girls, but really,
"I'll run like crazy!"? Hah! You've got to give it to him, he's a joke a
million!)
(Last boss: Mikoto. Cinema: Angel. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(Black screen.)
Mugenji: Why am I here?
???: Who's this mess? What did you say? I wish you weren't here. What a creepy
urchin. Let him be. He's cursed, they say. He'll bring disaster to the
village. Remove him. Do it now. Go! Go! Go!
Mugenji: Why? I didn't do anything. Stop it! Release me. Help me. .........
(A girl, dressed in a kimono, appears in the middle of a flower field, in a
black and white picture.)
Girl: Are you from around here?
Mugenji: ........
Girl: My name's Ocho.
Mugenji: ........
Girl: I've been blind from birth.
Mugenji: My name is....
Girl: We're friends, aren't we?
Mugenji: F...riends? ........
(Black screen.)
Girl: Hey, listen. I can see. If my father finds a good doctor for me. I want
to see soon. Then I can see you.
???: What did you say? What a creepy urchin. He's cursed, they say. Remove
him.
(Black and white picture of Mugenji's hands choking Ocho on the ground of the
flower field.)
Girl: Why...why.... Soon.... I will see...your face.
Mugenji: ....... One more time...when I'm reborn....
(Mugenji, seen from behind, stands in the middle of a flower field, with lots
of butterflies flying about.)
Mugenji: Ooooh. Beautiful. A butterfly is flying. Death has come for me.
(Mugenji lying on the ground, his whole body is in black and white tones. A
butterfly lands on him.)
DOM!
Mugenji: A good butterfly. First ugly, new beautiful.... I'll be reborn....
I'll become a butterfly. ....... ....... ....... .......
(Mugenji raises his hand, and crushes the butterfly.)
KRASKK!!
(Far sight of Mugenji, lying on the ground, motionless, with his fist raised.)
(Damn...what a spook! The people talking to him in the dark were the villagers
of the town he lived in. Supposedly, they considered butterflies to be bad
signals. And since Mugenji was a butterfly maniac, well, he was considered a
cursed boy. Out of sheer madness, he killed his childhood friend, Ocho. By the
way, Ocho means "eight" in Spanish. Nice cultural fact. Care to consider?)
OBORO'S AMAZONS
Age: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Sex: Female
Weapon: Assassin Knives
Oboro's Amazons are loyal servants to the great evil leader, Oboro, the head
of the Razor Trio. They blindly follow the ambition of Oboro, and dedicate all
their strength in accomplishing Oboro's will. Their loyalty is so strong, they
are willing to sacrifice their own lives to keep Oboro on. Usually, the
Amazons dress like Shinto priestesses, and look like normal women. But when
they reveal their true nature, they become inhuman warriors, whose skin is
adorned in several colors, and with several inscriptions written through their
entire body. They are the ultimate obstacle for those who intend to dethrone
the Razor Trio.
(Oboro's Amazons have no dialogues during the game, neither do they meet
Nakoruru.)
(Last boss: Yuda. Cinema: Pain. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(Oboro, seen from behind, stands in front of the Oboro Amazon you controlled,
who is kneeling. There are two "normal" Amazons at each side of Oboro,
kneeling as well.)
Oboro's Amazons: Master Oboro! All resistance is destroyed.
Oboro: Oh, oh! Well done. You're quite a bunch.
Oboro's Amazons: You overpraise us.
Oboro: Now purify yourselves. Begin the ceremonial rites.
Oboro's Amazons: Yes.
("Normal" Oboro Amazons prepare themselves for a bath in the hot springs. Lots
of bare legs around... Whoa!)
Oboro's Amazons: .......
("Normal" Oboro Amazons are taking a bath in the hot springs.)
Oboro's Amazons: .......
(The "normal" Oboro Amazons are dressing up. One of them is dressed different,
in blue.)
Oboro's Amazons: What's wrong?
Messenger: Oboro summons all!
Oboro's Amazons: We'll come, post haste.
(Several Oboro Amazons kneel in a dojo room in front of Oboro, who has his
hands behind his back.)
Oboro's Amazons: Oboro, here we are.
Oboro: You all served me well. But our coup has failed.
Oboro's Amazons: What? Why?
Oboro: Tohma and Mikoto have been defeated.
Oboro's Amazons: Say it ain't so, Oboro! Tohma and Mikoto? But Oboro's still
standing!
Oboro: I have some news. It was prophesized long ago. Prophesized to me,
Oboro.
(Another scene of the group of Oboro Amazons kneeling before Oboro, seen from
behind Oboro's leg.)
Oboro: Two maidens of light to appear before all and block evil ambition.
These two maidens are here. Tohma, Mikoto defeated.
Oboro's Amazons: But these maidens did not stop me!
Oboro: Another maiden must exist! And she stopped my plans.
Oboro's Amazons: No! Impossible!
Oboro: Listen, everyone.
(Close-up of Oboro standing before his group of kneeling Amazons.)
Oboro: I am the only one left. We are bound for Hades. With all of your help,
I have come this far.
Oboro's Amazons: No, it's you! Oboro!
Oboro: I have sent you into harm's vicious way. But hereon, I walk alone.
Oboro's Amazons: Oboro.
Oboro: You fine, pure youths. Live your own way. Live well....
(As Oboro begins to leave, one of the Amazons stands up and stops him.)
Oboro's Amazons: ....... Wait, Oboro! We'll follow you to Hades! We give
ourselves to you!
Oboro: Why, you Amazons.... Very well. Serve me now!
Oboro's Amazons: Yes.
(Black screen.)
Oboro's Amazons: ...Ah...! Oboro...the cruelty...!
Oboro: Such tasty, sweet nectar.
(Oboro is in the middle of a bunch of Amazon corpses, glowing a green aura,
with his two swords floating above him.)
Oboro: HA! HA! HA! My dark legion of evil. Oh, such thirst I suffered. Your
nectar has soothed me. ...Hanzo.... Soon yours will be mine! HA! HA! HA!
(Once again, the last couple of lines are quite disturbing. Is it any wonder
why I name the Amazons, the "Oboro Bitches"? By the way, Oboro was talking
about the presence of Rimururu in the island, and the other maiden COULD be
Mikoto herself, but it is unknown if this is true or not.)
RAN PO
Age: 10 years old
Height: 1.40 m (4' 6")
Weight: 41 kg (90 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Justice Mallet
Ran Po is an orphan, whose parents where another victims of the violence that
reigned in Riten Kyo. He was not totally doomed, since the kind old man,
Daruma, took him in and made him his grandson, along with his other lost
child, Minto. Since then, Ran Po and Minto have become very fond of each
other, and care a lot for one another. Ran Po, being the elder side, takes it
upon himself to protect Minto, and go out on the streets in order to nab some
money somehow. Despite being short-tempered, Ran Po is gentle at heart, and
although he carries with a burden that most adults wouldn't withstand, he is
brave and mature enough to go on ahead. Depressed by the current situation in
Riten Kyo, he is comissioned by his grandfather Daruma that he must go to
Ryukyu to live a more peaceful life. The problem is, he doesn't want to leave
without Minto, and she is lost....
(Ran Po does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, the other after stage 9.)
(Stage 2: vs. Jin-Emon Hanafusa. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Jin-Emon: When night falls here, it gets more creepy.
Ran Po: (in black) Horah kabroree da loodley doo lo lo....
Jin-Emon: Huh? What was that? It came from above! Uh! What's that? A bizarre
bird?
Ran Po: Ah chaaaa!
Jin-Emon: Doh, dwaaa!
Ran Po: (appears) Ah cha!
Jin-Emon: Hyah! A monster!
Ran Po: Hey! That's not nice!
Jin-Emon: Huh? Ah, it's just a punk kid. A bat kid! You scared the begeebies
out of me!
Ran Po: You're no joy on the eyes either, pal!
Jin-Emon: You calling me ugly?
Ran Po: If the shoe fits....
Jin-Emon: Ah! You dare insult Jin-Emon Hanafusa?!
Ran Po: Put a tab in it, you freak of nature. Now shut up, and hand over your
cash.
Jin-Emon: My word, such gall. No way, little man! Go home to Mommy, or I'll
whoop you!
Ran Po: This city's my home. Don't hassle me, pal.
</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
(Actually, Ran Po is a bit ruder in attempting to grub money from strangers.
However, going out of his way in saying "freak of nature", and "you're no joy
on the eyes" is really something!)
(Stage 6: vs. Oboro's Amazons. Scene: Town Plaza, storm.)
Iga Ninjas: ...Cough, cough. Our ninja brethren will crush your scheme! And
then crush you!
Oboro's Amazons: Quiet! (Whoosh!)
Iga Ninjas: Aaack!
Oboro's Amazons: Finally, the Bafuku moves against us! We must inform Oboro,
post haste!
Ran Po: Whoa! This is grim! Who are you freaks?
Oboro's Amazons: Who are you?!
Ran Po: Oooh! That's got to hurt real bad.
Oboro's Amazons: Hmph. It's just some brat.
Ran Po: You're the ones who've ruined my city!
Oboro's Amazons: So you're the imp. The little sneak.... Exterminate him.
Ran Po: The frolics end here. It's my city, now!
(After slaying some Iga Ninjas, the Oboro Amazons now have to deal with a
ticked Ran Po. Despite all the insults, ya just gotta give it to Ran Po and
his honesty.)
(Stage 9: vs. Mugenji. Scene: Temple Ruins.)
Ran Po: Where's my butterfly? Flying in the flowers?
Mugenji: Ah, the little imp! Are you alone today?
Ran Po: Ah, Minto's not here! No, sir. Not around....
Mugenji: That angel is no good for you, imp! She'll ruin your taste for evil!
Ran Po: Aaaah!
Mugenji: Oh, how beautiful. That rage of evil! That's right! Rage! Deep,
swift, rage! The one true nature, transcending death!
Ran Po: You're scaring me!
Mugenji: You'll follow me! Where the false light of hope shines not....
Deeper! Still deeper! Where the incident din of joy is silenced.... Swift, yet
swifter! Oh, Dark One! Even more than ever.... You spread isolation and
despair to all! Fly! Fly! Fly with me!
Ran Po: I'm outta here. Minto's waiting.
Mugenji: Keee Aaaah! Oh Darkness! Save this evil little soul! Oh dark one!
Vanquish the vile legions of light! Follow me! Follow me to the regions of
Evil!
Ran Po: Aaaah! Touch Minto, and I will kill you!
Mugenji: Ooooh. Sacrilege! Only a god can do that!
(So...isn't Mugenji a raging nut? He can really give ya the spooks...and doing
that to children! Real madness! Oh, and by the way, Ran Po and Minto seem to
take frequent visits to Mugenji's flower field around the temple ruins, and
Mugenji doesn't really like kids, so...)
(Last boss: Mikoto. Cinema: Angel. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(Black screen.)
Mario: Minto! Lunch time! Huh? Where'd she go now?
(In a toy-filled room, Mario lays a tray of food on the table in the middle of
the room. In front of him, Minto is practicing with her pole.)
Minto: Deadly Orbital Slice!
Mario: Wha! You scared me!
Minto: Mario! Did ya see that move? Hee, hee. Slick, huh? I'm a master of the
universe!
Mario: Yeah, yeah. Now Minto.... I know you're a prisoner...but you should
study sometime. You'll regret it later.
Minto: Study. Why? I'm a diva! Don't sweat it, pal.
Mario: Even divas study.
(Minto is looking out the window, while Mario is placing the food on the
table.)
Mario: Huh? What's up?
Minto: ...... I did it!
Mario: Huh?
Minto: Here he comes, Mario!
Mario: Here comes who?
Minto: Ran Po's my sweety. And.... Minto is Ran Po's sweety. Understand me?
Mario: I don't even try anymore.
(Black screen.)
???: Hoo hoo, tweet tweet! Hoo hoo!
Mario: What? What's that chirping?
Ran Po: AHAA.... AHAAA.
(Ran Po, seen from behind, is leaning on the window of the castle. Minto
salutes Ran Po, while Mario stands at the very back of the room.)
Minto: Hey!
Ran Po: I looked all over for you.
Mario: Uh, who are you?
(Facing the screen, Minto points at Ran Po with her thumb, winking an eye. Ran
Po is standing on the window, looking at the horizon.)
Ran Po: Who are YOU?
Minto: Mario! He's one of them. He's an evil, crazy ninja man!
(Ran Po climbs down from window, while Minto stands next to him. Mario is
backing up, shocked.)
Ran Po: Ah! Minto's kidnapper!
Mario: N, Not me! Minto got lost in this castle, got herself captured, so I
befriended her, became her guardian, and then she escaped... ...and then.... I
became Mei's friend.... ...Ah....
Ran Po: What's with you, pal?
(Minto is leaning on her pole, looking mad. Ran Po turns to face her. Mario is
still looking at Ran Po.)
Minto: You were so late! I got lonely without you.
Ran Po: Hmph. You sneak! Why didn't you come home?
Minto: I became a prisoner!
Ran Po: You could have escaped! Geez!
Minto: Hey, you're right!
Ran Po: Let's go. Granps is waiting.
Minto: Okay. Bye, Mario! Let's play again. Tell Mei about me!
Mario: You're going?
(Minto and Ran Po jump off the window. Minto waves Mario goodbye, and Mario
does the same.)
Minto: Yeah!
Ran Po: Hoo hoo!
Mario: Peace, at last! But how do they fly like that?
(Isn't this, like, the dumbest ending in history? I mean, come on! Just
because a stupid girl got lost, her even stupider savior comes crashing in
making quite a fuss? Yeah, right. Next!)
RINKA YOSHINO
Age: 16 years old
Height: 1.54 m (5' 1")
Weight: 43 kg (94 lbs.)
Sex: Female
Weapon: Yoshino Family Sword
Rinka is the proud daughter of the recognized Yoshino family, a honorable line
of warriors that have been deemed as being the best lineage of samurais in all
Japan. As one of the wealthiest families of Japan, the Yoshino clan never
expected that, one day, their bloodline would fall in disgrace, due to a inner
conspiracy, executed by several samurais who were jealous of the Yoshino's
wealth. This plot not only ruined the Yoshino family economically, but it also
provoked the desertion of the Yoshino family members to Riten Kyo, a prison
island. It was just a matter of time before the Yoshino family became slowly
dismembered in the middle of the cursed island. However, Rinka refused to
accept the sad destiny of the Yoshino family. Taking her father's sword, she
now sets off to join the "Atom Rebels", an anti-Bafuku group, along with
Jushiro Sakaki and Saya, and plan not only the freedom of Riten Kyo, but also
reestablish honor to the Yoshino lienage. Rinka does not trust too much in
people, but she is very caring with animals, especially her pet gopher,
Tetsunosuke.
(Rinka does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 6.)
(Stage 4: vs. Yaci Izanagi. Scene: Town Plaza, daytime.)
Yaci: Hey, young lady.
Rinka: ...
Yaci: You know where you are? The Thug's Lair! This is no place for a maiden
like you? Go back to Mommy! Back to the kitchen!
Rinka: Let's go, Tetsunosuke!
Tetsunosuke: <Arrr!>
Yaci: Hey, wait! If you need money.... How about...a date?
Rinka: Back off, jerk!
Yaci: Say what?! Girl, it's whooping time! Let the beating... ...begin! I WILL
enjoy this!
(I don't see too much the problem for Rinka, but I do for Yaci...what if his
girl, Nami, found out about this, hm? Fear the wrath of a scorned woman!)
(Stage 9: vs. Seishiro Kuki. Scene: Wasteland.)
Rinka: You're one of their allies, huh?
Seishiro: I have nothing to do with such filth!
Rinka: You liar!
Seishiro: Uh....
Rinka: Then what is that on your belt. Knave? You samurai.... Liars all! You
only use that sword on the weak! You coward!
Seishiro: Don't confuse me with those others.... If you want to live, you must
be strong!
Rinka: Just as I thought! Slime like you.... Bring nothing but pain to the
lives of others! For what purpose?!
Seishiro: There is no reason. That is the way it is.
Rinka: What?! Draw! Draw and find out the real 'way it is'!
Seishiro: I'm tired.... Leave me...and live.
(This may be serious by now, but just take a look at Rinka's ending for a
juicy tidbit. Heh heh...:)
(Stage 11: vs. Jin-Emon Hanafusa. Scene: Samurai Station, daytime.)
Jin-Emon: Excuse me, young lady?
Rinka: ...A samurai?
Jin-Emon: Can you swing that with those skinny arms?
Rinka: What's it to you?
Jin-Emon: Just what is this Riten Kyo place?! Young maids like you, carrying
weapons.... Oh, the madness!
Rinka: Your hypocrisy has created this mad world! Samurai trash!
Jin-Emon: Hypocrisy?! You dare call us hypocrites?
Rinka: You line your pockets by stomping the weak! That's all you keep your
tiny minds on!
Jin-Emon: Forget you! You know not the way of Bushido!
Rinka: Then show me! Show me your Bushido!
Jin-Emon: No, I cannot!
Rinka: Enough small talk! Have at you!
(Looks like Rinka really has it against samurais, more than even Saya. She
still doesn't forget who sank her family in that pighole, and she's not
willing to forget that easily.)
(Last boss: Mikoto. Cinema: Angel. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(Seen from behind, Rinka talks with Seishiro in the forest. Seishiro is
leaning on a tree with crossed arms.)
Rinka: Hey, like you told me: 'Become strong and live'. I now understand your
words. Yet the villagers live more heartily than I.
Seishiro: ...
Rinka: I shall leave this island. With Tetsunosuke and my Father's polished
sword. I think it will change me.
Seishiro: ...
(Rinka stands alone, playing with Tetsunosuke.)
Rinka: You won't say anything? Oh well. I deserve it. Off I go. Take care.
(Rinka begins to walk away from Seishiro.)
Rinka: I can't say it now, but if we meet again, I'll say 'Thank you'.
Tetsunosuke: JEE!
(Seen from behind the tree, Seishiro still keeps his arms crossed, as he
watches Rinka walk away.)
Seishiro: ...ZZZ...ZZZ....
(Back to shot of Rinka closing to camera, with Seishiro still in the
background.)
(Man, that was sooooo funny! Rinka finally got honest with someone, and he
falls asleep! Hah hah! You gotta give it to Seishiro, he's a sly, albeit lazy
dog.)
SAMURAI
Age: Unknown
Height: 1.71 m (5' 6")
Weight: 59 kg (128 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Spear
The Samurais are the warriors that are in charge of upholding law and order in
the prison island of Riten Kyo. Working under the orders of the Bafuku
government and their representative, the judge Samon, the Samurais have an
unsurpassed sense of justice and right. They will do anything that is in their
reach to stop all the criminals that are overrunning Riten Kyo. However, their
lack of strong will makes them easily controllable, and usually cower
underneath pressure. Their greatest wish is that, once the incident is over,
they can return to their calm lives with their families. One Samurai, Suzuki,
sets out to investigate the Razor Trio's operations. The Samurais have no own
special or super moves.
(Samurai has no dialogues during the game, neither does he meet Nakoruru.)
(Last boss: Tohma. Cinema: Zero. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(In a grass field, at sunset, the Samurai Suzuki looks at the sky, clearly
excited.)
Suzuki: I did it! I did it! Father! Everybody! I won! Gyah hah hah! I can do
anything! I'll be getting a raise, too!
(Lots of Samurais run over to meet Suzuki, who is waiting for them. These
Samurais wear green outfits, unlike Suzuki's blue uniform.)
Yamada: Suzuki!
Suzuki: Uh, what is it? Why are you all here?
Honda: Suzuki. It's terrible. The Bafuku's pulling out.
(The Samurais gather around Suzuki.)
Suzuki: What? Are you serious?
Matsushita: You can't believe it either? At last, I'll see my daughter.
Suzuki: That's great.
Sato: Geez, don't cry Suzuki. We can all go home!
Suzuki: Sorry. I'm just so happy. You're crying too!
Sato: Am not! (Sniff!)
(All the Samurais look to the sky, except for Suzuki, who is looking at the
ground.)
All: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Yamada: Let's celebrate today! It's about time. And Samon can buy!
All: Oh yeah!
Yamada: Let's get going, guys.
Suzuki: Aha.
(Viewed from behind his head, Suzuki looks at a family photo.)
Suzuki: Whew hoo! Father! I'm coming home!
(Pretty boring ending, considering nothing really exciting happens. All that
"happy happy, joy joy" stuff just gets me sick. And, besides, is THIS the way
Samurais were supposed to be? They look so dorky! I bet it was good to be a
"ronin".... At least you didn't have to wear such lousy glasses.)
SAYA
Age: 22 years old
Height: 1.68 m (5' 5")
Weight: 45 kg (98 lbs.)
Sex: Female
Weapon: Twin Daggers
Saya is an attractive woman that was born in England. Her family was one of
the most important commercial corporations between England and Japan, but they
were also one of the more involved with criminal activities. Due to their
denial to accept conditions by a gang of thieves led by a mysterious person
known as Oboro, an extermination unit was sent to wipe out Saya's family. The
mission was carried out with success, and Saya's parents were killed swiftly.
However, the young Saya still remained. But she was spared when one of the
assassin ninjas took her in, and carried her back to Japan. Since then, Saya
has been trained in the fatal arts of killing, becoming a walking threat with
her two daggers, that could spell death since Saya could spin them as quickly
as the wind. However, she always lived with anger towards the Razor Trio, and
towards the Bafuku for allowing her family to be manipulated by criminals, and
have not done anything to avoid their murder. Soon, she joins the 'Atom
Rebels' liberation group, and with Jushiro and Rinka, she proposes herself to
dethrone both the Bafuku and the Razor Trio in Riten Kyo. Saya is quite vain
and arrogant, but her sense of freedom and kindness have a strong presence in
her heart, as well.
(Saya does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 6.)
(Stage 5: vs. Haito Kanakura. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Saya: La dee da dee da.... Oh, Haito? If you keep staring at me like that...
..You'll burn a hole right through me!
Haito: ....
Saya: But, I understand. I am HOT, aren't I?
Haito: ...Eh, heh!
Saya: But, I'm afraid you're not my type. Sorry, big boy!
Haito: ...Eh, heh, heh....
Saya: What's with you? Ah, you're dazzled by my great beauty!
Haito: Oh, why did God create such a maiden?
Saya: Beats me....
Haito: Women like you...really tick me off!
Saya: Huh? Don't say...you hate...moi?
Haito: How could I hate such conceit and vanity?
Saya: ...Huh? You jest! Look again, swine! I am not of this backward region!
Haito: How infuriating!
Saya: Hmph! I may not know much about you... ...But you need help with judging
people! Talk about your high-strung males!
Haito: You're arrogant...!
(Stage 8: vs. Garyo the Whirlwind. Scene: Thieves' Mine.)
Saya: Ah, you scared me! What beast are you?!
Garyo: Hmph!
Saya: I didn't know bears lived in these parts?
Garyo: Hmph!
Saya: Shoosh! Shoosh! Back to your cave!
Garyo: Hardee, har, har! Quite the comic, hon! You know, of course, whom you
insult?
Saya: Yah! A talking bear!
Garyo: Enough, already! Or I'll flay you!
Saya: W, What? A human? If you're a human, try acting like one!
Garyo: Argh! Young lady! Who died and made you fashion critic? Enough! Leave
me your clothes and your money! And I'll spare your misdirected life. Argh!
Saya: ...As I thought! You are a beast!
Garyo: Arrrrrrrgh!
(Although Saya might be some airhead bimbo, she may be right about Garyo.
Leaving her clothes? Yeah, well, if it were as easy....)
(Last boss: Oboro. Cinema: Metamorphosis.)
Saya: You're Oboro, huh? Of the Razor Trio?
Oboro: Whoa, ho, ho? I'm a celebrity. Another fanatic?
Saya: Don't try senility with me, old man! The stench of blood covers you!
Oboro: Woman, why do you chase an old man?
Saya: You're a cutthroat! And your grammar sucks! And furthermore.... You slew
my parents!
Oboro: Hah! Die, weakling! Long live the strong! Obey Nature's law!
Saya: The weak have no right to live, you say?
Oboro: Yah hyah ha! Maiden! Nature has ruled!!
(Saya wishes to exact revenge against Oboro...again. Oboro sure keeps his cool
against all those revenge buddies, though. Or maybe it's just because he is
old. Nah....)
(Ending. Cinema: Die..../Prayer.)
(In the forest, at sunset, a ninja faces Saya. The picture is taken from
behind the ninja, while Saya leans on a tree.)
Woman: The fight is not over.
Saya: Who are you?
Woman: Benten, of the Razor Trio.
Saya: The Razor Trio? Impossible.
Woman: Three years ago, we wiped out an English family. But one survived. A
daughter, Sasha.
Saya: How do you know that?
Woman: You know us too well.
Saya: Did you bump them off?
Woman: Two wait in the other world. And you too shall go.
(Ninja jumps at Saya, wielding a pair of daggers similiar to those Saya has.
Saya rushes at the ninja.)
Saya: SLASSHH!
Woman: HA!
(Black screen.)
KRAKT! BWAK!
(Saya is atop the ninja, who is lying on the floor. Saya's blades are near the
ninja's throat.)
Saya: I can't.... Mother.... I can't fight you.
Woman: ...How did you know?
Saya: Even with your face hidden, I still know my only mother.
Woman: Saya, forgive me! I ruined your life.
Saya: Why? How could you do it?
Woman: It's disparity of wealth. The poor live in fear. I joined the Razor
Trio to set the world right. But Oboro was wrong. The means to an end were not
chosen properly. Your parents were the victims. Unable to bear it, we escaped.
With you as our hostage. But my husband died to facilitate our flight. He was
screaming: 'Run! Run!'.
(Close-up on Saya.)
Saya: How incredibly sad!
Woman: It's over. I raised you for this day. That was my obligation.
Saya: ....... .....U.... U....
(Saya raises one of her daggers.)
Saya: UHAA.... Why? Why did you spare me?
(Black screen.)
Saya: UHAA.... UHAA.... Mother....
(With her daggers on the ground, Saya holds Benten in her arms.)
Saya: Here in this town.... So many children like me. All troubled orphans.
Thank you, Mother.
Woman: Forgive me, Saya.
(Saya stands up, and grabs her arm. Benten also slowly gets up, grasping a
tree.)
Saya: My mother is now gone. I am now an orphan again. I'll live as Mother
told me. And do it alone. For this country will perish, if we can't stand on
our own. And furthermore, I'm a girl! And we don't give up.
Woman: ...
Saya: Farewell, Mother.
(Benten looks at the horizon.)
Woman: Goodbye, Saya. Live prosperously, my beloved daughter.
(The female ninja, Benten, took Saya in when they carried out Oboro's orders
to kill Saya's parents, in a hunger of wealth. However, the mission soon
turned sour, and the ninjas refused to follow Oboro any longer, and thus, were
exterminated. Benten's husband died in covering Saya up. Out of sheer
kindness, Benten raises Saya as her own daughter. A Kodak moment, no
doubt....)
SEISHIRO KUKI
Age: 17 years old
Height: 1.72 m (5' 6")
Weight: 60 kg (129 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Full Moon Blade
Seishiro is the son of one of the greatest samurais that has ever existed: the
great Kuki. Since he was very young, Seishiro began his training as a servant
to his lord, another samurai of legend. Back then, he had to compete in a
ferocious way with his own brother, Tohma Kuki, in order to prove who was the
worthiest warrior. However, Seishiro's abilities came out naturally. His skill
with the sword was unsurpassed, and few met his match. Soon, he was joined in
his training by his father's friend, Jin-Emon Hanafusa, and by yet another
talented student, Jushiro Sakaki. However, Seishiro wasn't the friendly type:
so self-absorbed in training made him bitter against other people, and rarely
talked at all, being sometimes very rude. However, his strong appearance is
very fragile, since he likes to take casual naps, at anytime. One night, his
father appeared dead, and the Blade of the Flaming Sun was missing. So was
Tohma. Suspecting Tohma had killed his father, Seishiro decides to join Jin-
Emon in his task to recover order in the prison island of Riten Kyo, where the
Razor Trio and Tohma terrorized the general population, ordered by the Bafuku.
With no shown hate in his face, Seishiro takes the journey of his life, with
his father's other sword, the Full Moon Blade.
(Seishiro does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 9.)
(Before Seishiro begins his trip, a cinema appears named: "Kunou Tensho Ryu".
It basically shows Seishiro training in the Samurai Station garden in a full-
moon night, with Jin-Emon resting up inside. Meanwhile, Tohma slains some Iga
Ninjas atop his horse at sunset, in the wildlands. The two blades appear, and
they vanish into several letters of the same color. Seishiro and Tohma are
ready for the inminent battle.)
(Stage 2: vs. Yaci Izanagi. Scene: Forest, daytime.)
Yaci: Hey, you! Bafuku dog! You're a government agent, aren't you!
Seishiro: Hmph.
Yaci: No use denying it. I already know. Hey, how 'bout becoming my partner?
Seishiro: Hmph.
Yaci: Hey, you listening?
Seishiro: ...Move, scum!
Yaci: Say what, fancy boy? You talkin' to me?
Seishiro: ...Get lost, peasant.
Yaci: You insolent...! Suit yourself! Die!
(Notice Seishiro's vocabulary. The few words it involves are going to be
typical from here-on. Give it to Seishiro on how you can tick people off with
three words or less.)
(Stage 7: vs. Rinka Yoshino. Scene: Rebels' Camp, daytime.)
Rinka: Wait up! You're an unfamiliar face.
Seishiro: Hmph!
Rinka: This is no place for the likes of you! Better get lost!
Seishiro: Move, toots!
Rinka: Here is no place for samurai trash. Did you say, 'toots'?!
Seishiro: Hmph.
Rinka: 'Hmph' yourself!
Seishiro: Pipe down, runt!
Rinka: W, What did you call me?!
(A bit ruder version of the dialogue between Rinka and Seishiro. The one with
Rinka was a lot more calm, and with less insults, of course. But when you get
two hardheads around, well, this is only to be expected.)
(Stage 8: vs. Jushiro Sakaki. Scene: Rebels' Camp, sunset.)
Seishiro: ...Again...?
Jushiro: Well excuse me! This isn't up to me. That last one was an
acquaintance of mine.
(Last boss: Tohma. Cinema: Zero.)
Tohma: Seishiro! I was waiting for you!
Seishiro: Hmph.
Tohma: Don't tell me. One more of our sect still stands to prove our
existence?
Seishiro: Dad didn't tell you?
Tohma: A miscalculation of my actions, I fear. Before he told me, I quieted
his tongue! Then took his life.
Seishiro: Tohma!
Tohma: Seishiro.... Do you hate me?
Seishiro: Don't kid yourself. Our sect is not yours. It's mine!
Tohma: Hmph. You never change, Seishiro. But now's your chance. Can you rise,
Seishiro? Rise higher than me?
Seishiro: I already have, slime!
(I was expecting less talk out of both of them, but once again, it shows that
Seishiro isn't really that concerned about Tohma killing his father, but
moreso in proving he's a better fighter. This fight will surely show....)
(Ending)
(Black screen.)
Tohma: It's not over, Seishiro!
(Mikoto takes the fallen Tohma in her arms. Seishiro overlooks both of them.)
Mikoto: Wait!
Seishiro: ...
Mikoto: Please! Don't hurt Tohma!
Tohma: Mikoto.
Mikoto: His soul... ...is rife with injury. I understand his pain.
Seishiro: ...
Tohma: Move, Mikoto!
Mikoto: Please. If you continue.... ...You'll die for sure.
Tohma: Mikoto! Mind your tongue.
(Tohma pushes Mikoto aside, and prepares to face Seishiro, who isn't even
fazed.)
Mikoto: Tohma....
Tohma: This is between Seishiro and me!
Seishiro: Tohma. You can't win. It's so obvious.
Tohma: Enough talk, Seishiro!
Seishiro: You think of me as a rival....
Tohma: What?
Seishiro: But to me, you're nothing.
Tohma: You won't fight me? You naive fool!
Seishiro: Father said the same.
Tohma: Before I killed him. And now it's your turn. To feel-by my sword.
(Tohma shown on guard.)
Tohma: I am perfection! I cannot lose!
(Seishiro shown on guard.)
Seishiro: You can't beat me. It is I who am invincible!
(Seishiro and Tohma go at it.)
Tohma: HA!
Seishiro: YHA!
KRAKT!
(Black screen.)
A place where running water pools are silent with motion. The sun
returns to heaven, running water stays below.
Seishiro: Tohma. Your true nature. When you realize that, you will know all.
..You've forgotten.
(Seishiro holds both his sword, the Full Moon Blade, and Tohma's sword, the
Blade of the Flaming Sun. Mikoto takes the unconscious Tohma in her arms,
again.)
Seishiro: Tohma, I will take my sword back. And then you'll know your Father's
pain.
(Seishiro kicks Tohma in the face.)
BWAK!
(Seishiro proves himself to be one cocky bastard in affirmating that Tohma is
no match for him. Don't be fooled...this ending is not the end of Seishiro's
travel. Look at Seishiro Kuno's section for the follow-up of this amazing
chapter!)
SEISHIRO KUNO
Age: 17 years old
Height: 1.72 m (5' 6")
Weight: 60 kg (129 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Full Moon Blade/Blade of the Flaming Sun
After defeating Tohma Kuki, his own brother, in combat, Seishiro takes his
father's other sword, the Blade of the Flaming Sun, and returns to his
headquarters, the Samurai Station. Seishiro adopts his own identity, but
during his return, several friends and enemies reappear again to do him
challenge. However, with both of his father's swords, he is granted incredible
strength, and is ready for any test that awaits him.
(S.Kuno does not meet Nakoruru...which is obvious, since he already met her
during his past journey.)
(Stage 2: vs. Oboro. Scene: Oboro's Sanctuary.)
Oboro: It can't be! That sword! Ha ha ha! Tohma is no more!
S. Kuno: It was my sword from the beginning!
Oboro: To defeat such a fearsome samurai.... You are indeed a terryfying
warrior!
S.Kuno: You are Oboro, of the Razor Trio, aren't you?
Oboro: I can't hide from you. However.... ...Tohma was one locked in magma....
A frozen glacier. You have NO limits! You are more...enigmatic, flexible.
S.Kuno: Is that all you have to waste my time with?
Oboro: Wha hah hah! I've been waiting to meet one like you... ...and defeat
him! I tremble with joy! But I will not let you go free, friend! Hear me! I
wager all on my ability to beat you!
(Weird, that you may fight a final boss so early in the game. However, since
S.Kuno is so powerful, I guess he can afford it. Notice how Seishiro
elaborates a bit more on his dialogues. Beating your eternal rival really gets
to your attitude, eh?)
(Stage 4: vs. Mikoto. Scene: Forest, night.)
Mikoto: Seishiro, please wait!
S.Kuno: You.... Maiden of the Razor Trio, aren't you?
Mikoto: Yes. Call me Mikoto.
S.Kuno: ...Mikoto?
Mikoto: Seishiro, I must ask of you a favor.... Save Tohma!
S.Kuno: ???
Mikoto: At this rate, in his quest for power.... ...He will end up sacrificing
his soul!
S.Kuno: I'm sorry. I cannot! I am not his keeper!
Mikoto: I beg you! Regardless of what happens to me! Somehow, save him....
S.Kuno: What he seeks is the one true blade.... ...If he doesn't discover the
other blade.... No one can stop him.
Mikoto: The other blade?
S.Kuno: The blade you keep.
Mikoto: The blade I keep?
S.Kuno: The power of which both he and I lack....
Mikoto: Power.... You lack? You mean! (evil grin) Wah ha ha! A missing blade?
What do you mean?
S.Kuno: Why you're not Mikoto!
Mikoto: Were it not for you my master would... ...have come to own this rock
of a world!
S.Kuno: In your dreams! Even if successful, he wouldn't last long!
Mikoto: Sacrilege! My master is perfect to reign over this world!
S.Kuno: ...
Mikoto: Hmph! Enough already. With the 2 blades.... I'll slice you up...
..then, until I give them to Tohma.... ...I'll see that you are completely
dead!
(Seems like Seishiro gets involved in the whole Mikoto/Yuga thingy. But what
does Tohma have to do with all this? Bare in mind, Tohma and Mikoto have the
same red eyes, and same white hair. Could Tohma also be a servant of Yuga,
despite not knowing it? Hmmm...)
(Stage 7: vs. Yaci Izanagi. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Yaci: Hmph! I overdid it. I hope no one witnessed me! This will not be
forgiven.... Slaying allies, that is. I'm doomed! The plan's ruined! I'm in
trouble. Gotta think!
Nami: ...Oh, Yaci!
Yaci: Uh.... Yes...? What is it, Nami?
Nami: Are you okay, Yaci? You're ghost-white!
Yaci: Ghosts? Where? Heh! Don't be silly!
Nami: Uh...sorry.... I was just worried.
Yaci: Why apologize? You always do that!
Nami: Sorry.... Doh! I did it again!
Yaci: ...It's all right. Anything else?
Nami: Uh, yeah. Your friends were looking for you.
Yaci: Ha! Is that so?
Nami: What's the matter? Did I miss something?
Yaci: Namino, do you believe in me?
Nami: Of course I do.
Yaci: Then let's leave here, tonight! To fulfill the promises we made to each
other.
Nami: Huh?
Yaci: Hide and wait here. Wait until tonight!
Nami: ...Yaci.... No matter what, you and I are one!
Yaci: ...Believe!
S.Kuno: You again?
Yaci: Sorry. Forgive our last meeting. Honest! Samurai, I have a favor to ask
of you.
S.Kuno: ...
Yaci: Please! Make me a samurai, too! No matter how low my status! I want to
get out of this cesspool own! Well? I'll do anything!
S.Kuno: You drained my blood, you fiend. No one puts a vamp to their chest...!
Yaci: I didn't drain that much, you prissy! And even a vamp...has feelings....
Even though I drink human blood, I live!
S.Kuno: That's the problem! You ask for friends.... Then leave them dry. Not a
few, but hundreds!
Yaci: ...Yeah, yeah.... I hear you! I won't take your blood, though.... In
turn, I ask you to train me!
(Once again, Seishiro and Yaci go at it. It is revealed that Yaci drinks up
human blood! However, he still loves Nami, but he is torn between following
her or dealing with his business in Riten Kyo. However, Seishiro seems to have
little plans for him, since Yaci somewhat drinked up some of Seishiro's blood,
and he really didn't like it!)
(Stage 10: vs. Jushiro Sakaki. Scene: Rebels' Camp, daytime.)
Saya: What are you doing?
Jushiro: Reaching for clouds. I want my wishes to come true, for once!
Saya: You believe in that childish fairy tale?
Jushiro: Yes, am I....
Saya: Really strange?
Jushiro: No. Just one who needs a wish granted.
Saya: ...Jushiro? Dreams? Something is strange.
Jushiro: Men were born to fulfill their dreams.
Saya: And in so doing, break women's hearts.
Jushiro: That's not true. In my wish, there's a happy woman.
Saya: No way. Who? Who is she?
Jushiro: It's you, Saya!
Saya: Huh? Get out! Really, me?
Jushiro: Hear me, Saya. Don't get involved.
Saya: Involved? With what?
Jushiro: For men to make wishes come true.... ...We need to take a stand at
times.
Saya: ...That's you, Seishiro Kuki!
S.Kuno: You know the price of betrayal, Jushiro!
Jushiro: I can't stop you. I will not interfere with your justice.
S.Kuno: I must slay you, in the name of the Bafuku!
Jushiro: The strong, the weak, the rich, the poor.... All will be happy. I
wish I could see such an era....
S.Kuno: Draw, Jushiro! Here I come!
Jushiro: Seishiro...! Do you dream?
(Seishiro goes after Jushiro again, and seems to be decided in completing his
mission now. Jushiro gets very considerate with Saya, still tormented by
failing to save his beloved Karen's life. Does Seishiro dream? Yeah. I bet
every couple of minutes he does...)
(Last boss: Haomaru. Cinema: Samurai Spirit.)
Haomaru: Seishiro, it looks like it's over for now.
S.Kuno: Uh huh.
Haomaru: A message from Mikoto, huh? <When unaware of the power you lack.... A
light shines within the soul. Only... ...this power's true potential is
unknown.> Or so she said.
S.Kuno: In everyone lies a hidden potential.
Haomaru: Seishiro. If this country has a future... ...we samurai will have to
step aside.
S.Kuno: So it goes: That with structure, must vanish.
Haomaru: Sounds right.
S.Kuno: It is right.
Haomaru: Ah!
S.Kuno: Ah!
Haomaru: How 'bout it?
S.Kuno: You read my mind.
Haomaru: It won't be quick. Look. A beautiful moon. It'll be clear skies
tomorrow.
S.Kuno: Ah!
Haomaru: Seishiro! I'm going to watch the sunrise.
S.Kuno: I'll be watching the clear, blue sky.
(Since both Seishiro and Haomaru are done with their duties, they decide to
have a friendly match amidst the decadence of the samurai era. A pure,
boundless fight with no hard feelings. Really interesting. No insults, either.
Can we say, cool?)
(Ending)
(Black and white photo of Tohma using the Blade of the Flaming Sun against
Kuki, who is kneeling in the middle of a dojo room.)
Kuki Senior: Don't be impudent, Tohma. You cannot beat everyone.
Tohma: If that's all you have to say, fine!
Kuki Senior: Oh, my son! Survive, and.... Grow stronger.
(Tohma lowers the Blade of the Flaming Sun near Kuki's head.)
Tohma: Even then, he called me son.
(S.Kuno and Jin-Emon are on the ship that will take them back to Edo. S.Kuno
is looking at the horizon from the front of the ship, and is seen from behind.
Jin-Emon is at a side of the ship, sitting down.)
S.Kuno: Jin-Emon. Have a minute?
Jin-Emon: What is it?
S.Kuno: Will I surpass you.
Jin-Emon: In a millenium, maybe.
S.Kuno: ...I guess so.
(The same scene is seen, but S.Kuno now faces the screen, and Jin-Emon looks
at him.)
Jin-Emon: Are you laughing at me?
S.Kuno: ......
Jin-Emon: No, it's not possible. You never laugh.
(Back to the original picture.)
Jin-Emon: My mistake, I guess.
(Scene of the blue sky, with lots of birds flying about.)
S.Kuno: Yeah. Your bat.
(This is the real end of Seishiro's trip. Behind him, he leaves a world of
rivals and friends. As you can see, the hero of the game gets to have his own
continuation of his journey, based on a secret version of himself. Seems like
Seishiro is up to the big leagues in the next Samurai Shodown games. Will he
give Tohma's sword back? :)
TASHON MAO
Age: 25 years old
Height: 1.70 m (5' 5")
Weight: 93 kg (202 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Wooden Hand
Tashon Mao is a member of a Buddhist temple, and as such, dresses and dons
make-up accordingly to his traditions. However, despite his solemn origin,
Tashon Mao is not very serious. He usually jokes about things, and has a wacky
sense of humor. The only way he gets real is when he is enfuriated. Having
been a master of martial arts, Tashon Mao has adopted an artificial wooden
hand in order to deliver harder blows. In one of his travels to Japan, Tashon
Mao suddenly met a glowing light in the forest. The light was so warm, but the
figure inside the light was even more charming. Tashon Mao claimed it was a
fairy, but it was really the spirit of Nakoruru, who was on her way to the
prison island of Riten Kyo. Nakoruru confused Tashon Mao with a panda, but
being completely hypnotized by her beauty, Tashon Mao didn't object at all.
After Nakoruru flied away, Tashon Mao follows her to the dark depths of Riten
Kyo.
(Tashon Mao does not meet Nakoruru...which kind of gives you an idea of things
to come.)
(Stage 2: vs. Haito Kanakura. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Tashon Mao: I'm not too crazy about this place. Too many shady thugs loitering
in the dark. Now to get some info about my fair pixy...and blow this place, or
I'll be in danger! Oh! I'm in serious danger. Like, yo, dude! That's it! I'm
bad! Ah! Now I've done it! What a totally sadistic and dirty.... Maybe he
didn't see me. Hmmm! No place to hide! That's it, I'll blend in. I'm blending
in. I'm.... Ah! He's here! Oh no! Heh, heh....
Yaci: Yo...?
Tashon Mao: Heh, heh.
Yaci: Hey! Why are you in the middle of the road? Waiting for something? No?
Then move, jerk!
Tashon Mao: Heh, heh....
Yaci: I said, move! <Hmph!>
Tashon Mao: Whoa....
Yaci: Move, cream puff! Or I'll bake you!
Tashon Mao: ...Whew! He's going! He kicked me! He did. I know he did. A kick!
Now! Right here! He kicked me! I'm sure! I'll get you! I will!! I will!!! Boy,
I hate it here! This place stinks! Hmph! But back to my business. My pixy! But
he kicked me! And he said, Hmph! Right here and, Hmph! Ah, whatever. Where's
my pixy? ...Oh! A revelation! Check this out! Some foreign guys. I'll ask
them. Hey! You there!
Haito: Huh?
Tashon Mao: Hi, name's Tashon Mao. How ya doin'? You can call me Panda. And
who may you be? <CRUNCH!> Ouch! What gives, guy?
Haito: Who are you, chubby?
Tashon Mao: W, Why hit me? <CRACK!> <CRUNCH!> Ah oooooh!
Haito: Don't talk back, you buffoon!
Tashon Mao: Y, You hit me again! <BAM!> <BOOM!> Just like that! First, Hmph.
Crack. Now, Crunch, Bam, Boom! Yikes!
Haito: I said, quiet!
Tashon Mao: You're a bad man! I tried being nice, but now, you'll pay!
(Everytime Tashon Mao tries to act friendly, he gets bopped in the head! Heh
heh, gotta love these Riten Kyo duds. Smack around all those who get in your
way, I like it! Too bad Tashon Mao is such a crybaby. Oh well, he's just sick,
anyways...;)
(Stage 4: vs. Seishiro Kuki. Scene: Samurai Station, daytime.)
Tashon Mao: Oooooh, pixy! Come out, come out! Please show yourself! The panda
is here. It's your little panda. Ah, it's no good. The pixy, it seems...
..has flown away. I'll never find her! This is just no good. I need a
strategy! I bet she's looking for me, too. I'm sure! ...Huh? I shall ask that
person there! Yoo hoo!
Seishiro: ???!
Tashon Mao: Hey! Young man there! I'm Tashon Mao. You can call me.... P-A-N-D-
A. That's Panda! Pleased to meet you.
Seishiro: ???!
Tashon Mao: Are you antisocial? Or just shy? I'm talking to you! Have you seen
my little pixy?
Seishiro: Oh, boy....
Tashon Mao: You're a bright one. Now, a response, please, young man. Have you
seen my sweet little pixy?
Seishiro: ???!
Tashon Mao: ...Hey, you! This is getting monotonous! Hey, maybe you're
ignoring me, huh?
Seishiro: ???!
Tashon Mao: Is that it? I'm being ignored completely?
Seishiro: ???
Tashon Mao: W, Why you! Like, total ignorance, huh?
Seishiro: ???
Tashon Mao: You're making me mad!
Seishiro: Sorry. I fell asleep. What do you want?
Tashon Mao: Why, you! I'll give you such a thrashing! Prepare yourself!
(Ha ha ha! Seishiro just does it again. He sleeps whiles someone gets hanged
up talking with him! How cooler can you get by that? Take a snooze, and spit
out the booze! :)
(Stage 9: vs. Minto. Scene: Temple Ruins.)
Tashon Mao: Oh no! Like, super oh no! I can't find my little pixy! If this
keeps up, she'll hate me!
Minto: Wiggle, wiggle, boom, boom.... My secret garden's turning dark!
Tashon Mao: Ah! She's here!
Minto: Whah?!
Tashon Mao: W, What was that charming ditty? Kind of racy!
Minto: What's it to you, ya big pork dumpling?
Tashon Mao: How rude, you are!
Minto: You prefer...rice ball?
Tashon Mao: That's cruel! Who d'ya think you are? That bitter tone doesn't fit
you at all!
Minto: Look, birds in Ryukyu can't fly. Granpa said so. That's weird!
Tashon Mao: What are you talking about?
Minto: That's what I mean. They're like noodles!
Tashon Mao: Birds? Noodles? What're you saying?
Minto: What's in a pork dumpling, big boy?
Tashon Mao: Huh? You dissin' me?
Minto: Dissin' a big, scary boy like you?
Tashon Mao: What are you babbling on about? I'm gonna swat you! Like a big
mosquito!
Minto: You're beet red! Like bean bread!
(Last boss: Mikoto. Cinema: Angel. No dialogue.)
(Ending)
(In the forest, Haomaru, seen from behind, stands in front of Nakoruru, who is
in front of a tree, floating and glowing. Haomaru has his arms crossed.)
Haomaru: Twenty years already? What a time we had. Huh, Nakoruru?
Nakoruru: A long time has passed. The Evil has been defeated. But Nature is
still not safe. The perils will increase, if man values it not!
Haomaru: Self-destruction.... Man's true nature...?
Nakoruru: But Rimnerel still lives.
Haomaru: And she's still the same. She...looked at me and said, You've had a
hard life.
Nakoruru: Ha! That's Rimnerel for you. She will soon know of her long slumber.
Haomaru: Shall we go?
Nakoruru: Yes.
Haomaru: Nakoruru. You okay? She's waiting for you.
Nakoruru: I can no longer...spend time with her.
Haomaru: I see.... You're a master.
Nakoruru: ......
Haomaru: Nakoruru. We humans still have hope. Keep your hope alive.
(Close-up on Nakoruru.)
Nakoruru: ......
(Haomaru is seen waving Nakoruru farewell. Behind him, Tashon Mao is hiding
behind a tree.)
Tashon Mao: Farewell...my pixy. I won't forget you. I cannot forget you.
Absolutely not. Absolutely, absolutely not.
(Just outside the forest, Tashon Mao contemplates Mei who is playing with some
paper dolls.)
Mei: Whoosh! Whoosh! Grow up!
Tashon Mao: Heh, heh. Who's this? You're a sweety.
Mei: H, hello there....
Tashon Mao: Hee hee. I like you.
(Tashon Mao, seen from behind, is playing with the paper dolls, and Mei
watches with not too much emotion.)
HYOOOO
Mei: ......
Tashon Mao: Hee hee.
Rimnerel: Move. Out of my way!
(Black screen.)
Rimnerel: AHAAA!
DOM!
(Rimnerel falls on the ground, butt first. Tashon Mao slides into the ground,
face first. They seem to have collided)
Tashon Mao: Ouch!
Rimnerel: Ouch! Sorry!
Tashon Mao: HEEIII!
(Really, a dorky ending, considering Tashon Mao never saw Nakoruru during the
whole trip, which was perhaps the only highlight on Tashon Mao's story. Oh
well, that's SNK for ya, you got some, and you rid some. Wouldn't blame them,
though. I would get lazy if I had to work on that silly lug, Tashon Mao.)
TOHMA KUKI
Age: 22 years old
Height: 1.82 m (6')
Weight: 60 kg (129 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Blade of the Flaming Sun
Tohma was the other son of the great samurai legend, the fantastic Kuki, and
in order to live up to his heritage, Tohma trained everyday since he was very
young in order to become a true samurai one day. However, his true intentions
were far from being closely similiar to that of a real samurai. Hungry for
power and strength, Tohma always seeked more and more, despite being an
already incredible swordsman. In his eternal quest for more power, Tohma
became irrational and totally maniacal. Ignoring the warnings of his brother
Seishiro and his fellow sparring partners, Tohma set his sight on one thing:
the Blade of the Flaming Sun of his father, that was said to grant incredible
strength to its owner. One night, Tohma stole the sword from its resting
place, and after being witness of its demonic power, he decided to test
it...on his own father. After killing him with ease, Tohma departed on a
journey to destroy the souls of the worthiest warriors. His quest led him to
be prosecuted by the Bafuku government, so he decided to hide out in a local
Buddhist temple in the middle of the forest. There he met a fair maiden called
Mikoto, whom he didn't pay much attention, but accepted her in his travel.
Their journey finally arrived at the prison island of Riten Kyo. Tohma and
Mikoto proved to be more than powerful enough than your regular grunt, which
caught the eye of the criminal stageleader of Riten Kyo, the elderly old man,
Oboro. Soon enough, Tohma became the most feared warrior of the Razor Trio,
and the main extermination goal of the Bafuku government.
(Tohma does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 9.)
(Before Tohma begins his trip, a cinema appears named: "Kunou Tensho Ryu". It
basically shows Seishiro training in the Samurai Station garden in a full-moon
night, with Jin-Emon resting up inside. Meanwhile, Tohma slains some Iga
Ninjas atop his horse at sunset, in the wildlands. The two blades appear, and
they vanish into several letters of the same color. Seishiro and Tohma are
ready for the inminent battle.)
(Stage 5: vs. Jin-Emon Hanafusa. Scene: Wasteland.)
Jin-Emon: What?! Why you're.... Sire, you're Tohma!
Tohma: Whew! You have aged real bad, Jin-Emon!
Jin-Emon: I thought it was you. One of the Razor Trio. I didn't think that I
would meet you here.
Tohma: Quiet! Minion of a corrupt, spent world!
Jin-Emon: Denier of filial piety! Executor of patricide! You don't understand.
You debase the Samurai!
Tohma: Hmph. You cannot see the art I personify!
Jin-Emon: But I will show you the Way of the Samurai! Mine is the spirit if
all true samurai!
Tohma: Yadda, yadda, yadda! You talk a good fight. Come on, pansy-boy!
(Stage 8: vs. Haito Kanakura. Scene: Town Plaza, night.)
Haito: This was too easy. Greetings, Kuki.
Tohma: Who are you, peon?
Haito: Forgotten so soon? We've met before.
Tohma: Met?
Haito: You know me.
Tohma: Get lost. If you want to continue living, know your role!
Haito: Don't be so conceited.
Tohma: Leave me, or perish.
Haito: Say what?! You're delusional! I really hate that.
Tohma: Enough of this talk. Peons heed not reason.
Haito: Why you...! Shut your mouth! You're meat, pal!
(Stage 10: vs. Jushiro Sakaki. Scene: Rebels' Camp, sunset.)
Samurai: H, Help me! S, Spare me, please!
Jushiro: H, Hey!
Samurai: Help me! Demons! He's a demon god!
Jushiro: A demon god? Sounds interesting! But to ask for help from the
enemy...? ...I wouldn't even entertain the idea!
Samurai: S, Sakaki! Yikes!
Jushiro: Hey! Just kidding! What a head case! Sure is a noisy one. ...Well,
who's this?
Tohma: Hmph.
Jushiro: Huh. Are you.... ...Tohma?
Tohma: Will the parade of fools ever end?
Jushiro: Oh, more samurai!
Tohma: Hmph!
Jushiro: I heard on the winds that you killed my father.
Tohma: You gonna OK, Jushiro Tatsumi?
Jushiro: I'll think about it. I am in no position to get involved. See you.
Tohma: The Razor Trio, Oboro.
Jushiro: How do you know those names?
Tohma: Now, they are my loyal brethern!
Jushiro: So! Where are they now?
Tohma: If you want to know, then draw your weapon!
Jushiro: ...
Tohma: What's up, Jushiro? You surpassed your father, became a legend.... And
then, as your blade has, you've succumbed to rust.
Jushiro: My regrets, Tohma. I cannot hold back. I can't let this go!
Tohma: That beastily glare.... Ain't so rusty after all!
(Tatsumi is the real last name of Jushiro. Notice that since Jushiro is a
wanted criminal by the Bafuku, he had to change his name. My problem concerns
Jushiro's father: is he talking about Kuki, or another person? Perhaps since
Jushiro's father was after Tohma after being a runaway criminal, Tohma could
have killed him like many others. However, the only really important person
Tohma kills is Kuki. This is quite the enigma...care to explain?)
(Last boss: Seishiro. Cinema: Soul Diver.)
Tohma: Seishiro! I was waiting for you!
Seishiro: Hmph.
Tohma: Don't tell me. One more of our sect still stands to prove our
existence?
Seishiro: Dad didn't tell you?
Tohma: A miscalculation of my actions, I fear. Before he told me, I quieted
his tongue! Then took his life.
Seishiro: Tohma!
Tohma: Seishiro.... Do you hate me?
Seishiro: Don't kid yourself. Our sect is not yours. It's mine!
Tohma: Hmph. You never change, Seishiro. But now's your chance. Can you rise,
Seishiro? Rise higher than me?
Seishiro: I already have, slime!
(Ending)
(Black screen.)
Tohma: It's my sect.... Hah! The weak cannot prevail. A wolf beats not a
tiger. I'll take your sword.
(Seishiro is shown still standing. Tohma faces him.)
Seishiro: ...This is mine.
Tohma: What! Still alive?!
Seishiro: I told you. You cannot beat me.
Tohma: You should've stayed quiet. Now you shall certainly perish! Your
destination is set! Next stop, the Netherworld!
Seishiro: Tohma, remember this! All who oppose me will fail.
Tohma: Then with your final strength, have at you, Seishiro!
Seishiro: You do not sense it? You are afraid.
Tohma: Jest not, Seishiro!
(Black screen.)
Tohma: ....... Seishiro. Why? Am I afraid?
???: Tohma. Tohma.
(Mikoto sits on the side of a bed, where Tohma is lying in. The place is the
middle of a room of the Razor Trio castle.)
Mikoto: Tohma.
Tohma: Mikoto?
Mikoto: Oh, joy! You live!
Tohma: Live?
Mikoto: Yes. You slept 3 days and 3 nights.
Tohma: Slept? Where's Seishiro?
Mikoto: Tohma. You lost.
Tohma: What? Then why do I live?
(Close-up on the same scene.)
Mikoto: Seishiro told me that you'd come to fruition. And now you can change.
He left you with me, and then disappeared.
Tohma: Seishiro let me live. And you nursed me, Mikoto?
Mikoto: Yes.
Tohma: Hmmm....
Mikoto: Tohma.
Tohma: Mikoto, help me outside.
Mikoto: ...? ...Yes.
(Seen from behind, Mikoto and Tohma stand on a balcony, looking at the
horizon. Tohma is shirtless.)
Tohma: ...A beautiful sky. Mikoto, Seishiro told me he headed up in there.
Mikoto: Just like him.
Tohma: Seishiro. For you...and me.... He told us to look at him as we look at
the sky.
Mikoto: Tohma?
(Tohma looks back at Mikoto.)
Tohma: Look at the limitless, abominable heavens! A living disgrace I am.
Mikoto: Why?
Tohma: A weakling. I pale to him. But no. But I do not seek his realm. It
won't end here. I won't forgive him for letting me live.
Mikoto: Why? Why so jealous? Can't you accept my feelings?
Tohma: Mikoto, why the tears? Do you love me?
Mikoto: You're dear to me. I can't let you go. You grow colder and colder.
Can't I stop it?
(Seen from behind, Tohma looks at the horizon.)
Tohma: Stop what? No one can stop it. I'll become stronger than all! Mikoto.
If you truly love me.... Would you die for me?
(Close-up of Mikoto, holding her hand near her chest.)
Mikoto: Yes.... If I can save you.... I will give my life.
(Tohma jumps off the balcony, back first. Mikoto tries to catch him, but does
not succeed.)
Tohma: Wait here. I will be back. To slay you and your friend!
(Mikoto kneels in the balcony, alone.)
Mikoto: Tohma! Tohma....
(As you can see, Tohma still does not defeat Seishiro even if he beats him.
So, no matter what you do, Tohma will always lose. Also, as you may have
noticed, this ending happens right before Haomaru's ending, as seen in the
last dialogues. I wonder if Tohma really wants to slain Mikoto? And who's this
friend he talks about? Seishiro, Haomaru, or Yuda? Or perhaps Minto...heh heh.
And what's his deal in jumping off the balcony like that? He really takes a
cue from Geese Howard...so don't worry. He won't be fazed about it. :)
YACI IZANAGI
Age: 20 years old
Height: 1.76 m (5' 8")
Weight: 65 kg (141 lbs.)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Razor-edged sword
Yaci is one of the most dangerous thugs wandering around the streets of the
prison island of Riten Kyo. Being a free-lancer bodyguard, Yaci and his friend
in crime, Haito Kanakura, always roam the villages of Riten Kyo in search of a
well-earned job. More than the money, Yaci likes to make his opponents suffer.
He enjoys the agony and pain his enemies may present, and afterwards, he </pre><pre id="faqspan-4">
drains his foes from their blood, and drinks it up. A bloodthirsty villain,
Yaci, however, still presents human traces. After he met his girlfriend,
Namino, Yaci has vowed that one day, he will end his life of crime and
blooddrinking, and escape with Namino, far away from the cursed island of
Riten Kyo. In order to do so, he has decided to move up in the Riten Kyo
scale, and become as powerful as the Razor Trio, or the Bafuku government.
(Yaci does meet Nakoruru: one after stage 3, and the other after stage 9.)
(Stage 4: vs. Seishiro Kuki. Scene: Samurai Station, daytime.)
Yaci: Hey, you! Bafuku dog! You're a government agent, aren't you!
Seishiro: Hmph.
Yaci: No use denying it. I already know. Hey, how 'bout becoming my partner?
Seishiro: Hmph.
Yaci: Hey, you listening?
Seishiro: ...Move, scum!
Yaci: Say what, fancy boy? You talkin' to me?
Seishiro: ...Get lost, peasant.
Yaci: You insolent...! Suit yourself! Die!
(Stage 6: vs. Iga Ninjas x3. Scene: Town Plaza, storm.)
Iga Ninjas: Something terrible has happened! The Master's been wounded in
battle! What?! Who? Who could harm him? It must have been quite a warrior! Sh!
Someone's coming! Who is it?!
Yaci: Hey, relax guys. I'm no troublemaker.
Iga Ninjas: We'll be the judge of that!
Yaci: ...Heh, heh, heh. You're a real tough guy, aren't you?
Iga Ninjas: Enough idle talk! What business have you?
Yaci: You, too, pursue the Razor Trio, right?
Iga Ninjas: Good heavens? How do you know that?!
Yaci: I know their hideout.
Iga Ninjas: Surely you jest! If you know, tell us. And you'll be spared.
Yaci: I'll be 'spared'? That's funny. I also have... ...Money!
Iga Ninjas: Hmph. Money. We crave it not. Money is demon, sucking all life
force.
Yaci: A demon? You guys are REALLY out there!
Iga Ninjas: H, Hey! What is that symbol on your back? The very skull of he who
bushwhacked Hanzo! You don't say.... You vile fiend!
Yaci: Quiet, filthy dog! You bother me! Circle and sniff as you like.... I'll
use your heads for polo practice!
(The reason why the Iga Ninjas attack Yaci, is because you had to fight Hanzo
Hattori, their leader, earlier. However, Yaci seems to set his luck on the
money! Yeah, show me the money!!!! :)
(Stage 9: vs. Minto. Scene: Temple Ruins.)
Minto: Toodles, chap!
Yaci: Hmph! You imp! What brings you here?
Minto: Hee, hee. Uh, I've got you.
Yaci: Yeah, right. Buzz off, gnat!
Minto: Did' ya know Minto's secret hideout's here?
Yaci: The dickens, you say.
Minto: Huh, you didn't know?
Yaci: Frankly, you're too weird to be understood. Uh! Where's your other
companion?
Minto: I know not. But it's okay....
Yaci: I'm not worried, you silly twerp!
Minto: Hey, woman need to grow, huh? But Namino's tiny! Minto saw her! A
pirate's dream! Know what I mean?
Yaci: What! Who else have you related this to?
Minto: Hey, bat boy! Want to hear something?
Yaci: You're a loony.
Minto: Poor Namino is known as a pirate's dream.... But Minto will be as big
as a watermelon!
Yaci: Nice little tune, kid. Now shut the heck up!
Minto: When I get big, vavoom, vavoom! That's what Granpa told me one day....
Yaci: That's it, gnat. It's swatting time!
(Minto can be quite disturbing at times. What does she mean by Namino's small?
And that she'll be big as a watermelon? Ummm...I just can't stop thinking
about nasty things here, and it seems that neither can Yaci. What's with her,
anyway?)
(Last boss: Mikoto. Cinema: Angel.)
Mikoto: What do you want, you lowly bat boy?
Yaci: Why you! Your conceit... ...will bring you an early end!
Mikoto: Ho! Ho! Scold me? You've got spunk! For a commoner.
Yaci: I'll slice that smirk off your face!
Mikoto: A vile beast like you? You haven't a chance, impudent brute.
Yaci: You're an obstacle. With your death.... The Razor Trio shall welcome my
services.
Mikoto: Whoa, ho, ho! Quite a theory. But why would he take in his midst.... A
dim-witted peasant like you? You speak pure nonsense!
Yaci: 'He'...? Hah! You.... You're in love with that Kuki guy, right?
Mikoto: W, What? Preposterous! What would I do with....
Yaci: Shall we say, Bingo? You pompous poseur! I'll use your head as brick-a-
brack!
(Ending)
(Black screen.)
Yaci: Nami! Nami! Where are you?
Nami: Yaci!
(On the streets of Riten Kyo, Yaci and Nami embrace each other.)
Yaci: Nami.... Are you okay?
Nami: Yaci....
Yaci: What's wrong? You're shaking!
Nami: I'm all right. Sorry.... I'm a little afraid.
Yaci: It's okay. If you're okay.... Let's go. Before day light. We're leaving
this town. What is it, Nami?
Nami: Just wait. Let's stay here a bit. Until I stop shaking.
(Close-up scene of Yaci and Nami looking at each other's eyes.)
Nami: ......
Yaci: Nami, I'll never leave you. Even if you perish. If my body withers, I'll
always be with you.
Nami: ...If you're happy, so am I.
Yaci: ...Uh, uh. Nami. Don't cry so much.
Nami: I'm sorry.
Yaci: And don't apologize. Can't break that habit, huh? But don't try it with
others. It turns me mad.
Nami: ......
Yaci: I'm just kidding. Sike!
Nami: ......!!
Croney: I...za...nagi!
(Black screen.)
BANG!
Yaci: !!!
Nami: ...! ...Y...Yaci...!!
(Nami rests on Yaci's chest. Seen from behind, the Croney is on the floor,
sitting down.)
Yaci: ...What is it?
Croney: It's your fault. You brought it all on.
Yaci: What are you talking about? I don't have the faintest idea.
Croney: HI! HIIYAAA!!
(Yaci stabs the Croney with his sword like a madman, while still holding Nami
in his arm.)
Yaci: You did it, didn't you! You don't know?
GRAA! GRYYAA!
Croney: HI! HIIYAAA!!
Yaci: What are you talking about? Say something.
THUNKT! SPLORCH! CHUNKK! THUNKT!
Yaci: Nami! Hey, Nami! It's okay. Get up! I found the ship. Hey! Listen!
(Black screen.)
Croney: Ugh.... Go, Yaci. (Cough!) Go and know! This town keeps us alive. We
cannot leave here....
(Yaci lays the still body of Nami atop the small boat, on the beach.)
Yaci: You'll get wet, Nami. Come this way. What's with this boat? Stop
shaking.
Nami: Yaci....
Yaci: Grab on!
Nami: Yaci. Forgive me.
Yaci: Hurry before morning comes! Why are you bleeding? It won't stop. Hey,
stop.
Nami: Yaci. Forgive me.
Yaci: Stop apologizing.
Nami: Listen to me....
Yaci: Stop, please.
(Close-up of Yaci holding the dying Nami's hand.)
Nami: Please, hear me. You're so kind....
Yaci: Curses!
Nami: You taught me kindness...and honesty.
Yaci: What is this talk?
Nami: Thanks for loving me. ...When I'm reborn.... ...I'll return as a
woman....
(Distant picture of Yaci and Nami on the boat, leaving the shore.)
Yaci: H, hold on! Don't sleep now. Wake up! What is it? Nami! Hold on. Don't
leave me! Don't leave me alone! What now! We're sinking! Nami? Nami? Smile.
Smile for me! Don't leave me. I'm afraid.
(If Yaci had no reason at all to be a psycho, now with the death of his
beloved Nami, he's gonna flip the lid. However, it is also unknown if Yaci
also survived the boat sinking. Yeah, maybe it isn't the Titanic, but perhaps
Yaci doesn't know how to swim? Let's hope he's OK...I really like his cocky
design.)
YUDA
Age: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Sex: Male
Weapon: Blood Sword of the Seven Kings
Yuda's origins are unknown. Sent by a mysterious organization to the prison
island of Riten Kyo, Yuda hides himself in the shadows, rarely showing himself
in public. However, whenever Yuda appears, he does so with incredible force
and violence. He is able to kill many people in just matter of seconds. It
almost seems natural to him. His mission is presumed to be that of eliminating
all evidence in Riten Kyo if the Razor Trio fails. Yuda sides with no one. He
acts alone, and with an obscure aura, he contiunes his savaging path
throughout Riten Kyo.
(Yuda does not meet Nakoruru.)
(Stage 5: vs. Haomaru. Scene: Town Plaza, storm.)
Haomaru: No way!
Yuda: ...
Haomaru: You're not...?
Yuda: Step back... ...or be slain!
Haomaru: That black robe.... Red, evil eyes.... It's been 20 years since we
last met.
Yuda: ...<WHOOSH!>
Haomaru: <PING!> Heh, heh! Your moves stay predictable as ever.
Yuda: Who are you?
Haomaru: You've forgotten? The fight with Yuga? We fought then.
Yuda: Yu...ga? You say, Yuga? Is that correct?
Haomaru: You mean, you're.... Asra, you haven't forgotten Yuda?
Yuda: ...
Haomaru: And Asra and his twin...? And that woman? The fair Shiki...?
Yuda: As...ra? Shi...ki?
Haomaru: I bet you're a blast at reunions, huh?
Yuda: Your time...is up. You must die!
Haomaru: You've changed.... You're a Grim Reaper! This dormant sword hungers
for battle! And it will feed on you, fiend!
(As seen, Yuda is the reincarnation of Asra, a past obscure warrior, that came
from Samurai Shodown 64 II. Asra was part of Yuga's extermination squad, named
"The Seven Kings". His twin was also a part of the squad, and it was his Bust
version back then. Asra was ordered to kill Shiki, who had betrayed Yuga.
However, Asra ended up falling in love with Shiki, and even spawned a
daughter. However, Asra died protecting Shiki till the very end, and since
then, Yuga has recovered Asra's body, and inject new evil into him, as Yuda.
He may seem amnesic by now, but later....)
(Stage 8: vs. Seishiro Kuki. Scene: Samurai Station, night.)
Yuda: Darkness, darkness, darkness, darkness! What place is this? <Infinite
darkness.... Endless time. Without space.... Without existence. Fall into
hell. Yuga, serpent of the temporal. The seven wings show your power! Yuda,
who reigned in the age of 7 kings!> (Asra's shadow) Awaken! I am Asra! (Back
to Yuda) Who? <I am your lord. Hail, Time's Serpent> (Asra's shadown) Time's
Serpent.... Is he prepared...? (Back to Yuda) What's going on? <In this child
flows your own blood.> (Asra's shadow) Destroy all! (Back to Yuda) Who ARE
you?
Mikoto: (black) S...ave me.... Somebody...save...me!
Yuda: ...This is no place for someone like me!
Seishiro: Hey, space case, that's my line!
Yuda: And who are you?
Seishiro: I could ask the same, slayer of Jin-Emon! Reveal yourself!
Yuda: Seishiro Kuki?
Seishiro: What? You know me?
Yuda: Of course. I must see to your death!
Seishiro: I have but one word for you. The one who reaches the peak won't be
you!
(The one who speaks to Yuda during Yuda's appearance is Yuga, telling Yuda to
praise him. Then, Asra appears to direct Yuda's misdirected life. Then, Yuda
heeds Mikoto's call, and is faced by Seishiro. Since you had faced and sliced
Jin-Emon prior to your battle with Seishiro, he wants to get even! Phooey!
Bring it on, punk! :)
(Stage 10: vs. Oboro. Scene: Oboro's Sanctuary.)
Oboro: Nice killer instinct! Hee, hee. Your name?!
Yuda: For all of you, death has come!
Oboro: Hee, hee! Ha! Blabber on, fool! Your thirst for death frightens me! You
personify death!
Yuda: I feel your pain, but Darkness rules death!
Oboro: I'm shaking! You're so scary! I can't roll over and die.... I know you
not, but you shall die!
(Obviously, Yuda goes after the ringmaster of the Razor Trio and clean house
for the evil dude. No old man is gonna intimidate the mega cool Yuda!)
(Last boss: Mikoto. Cinema: Angel.)
Mikoto: Someone...save me! I can no longer resist! <Destroy everything!!>
Grand...father.... Help me. Save me! Grandfather.... The...pain...! Fa...ther!
Please.... (evil grin) Ka ka ka ka. Whoo hoo! Heh, heh, heh. A stubborn
specimen! Accept me... ...and end your pain. Darkness comes for us. It will
save us.... Love it! The Dark One will set us free! It's been an eternity: Our
imprisonment.... How many await my soul's release? He comes! He comes!
Yuda: ...You summoned me?!
Mikoto: Ah.... Love me! Ah! Yes! I called you! It was I, my servant! Hail!
Hail, Yuda! Set me free!
Yuda: It was not you. You summoned me not!
Mikoto: Wh...! What?! How dare you?! Yes, it was I! I summoned you!
Yuda: Asra! The portal once shut, has opened again!
Mikoto: What do you mean? Oh noooooooooo!
Yuda: Your soul should have been destroyed a long time ago! You were born to
be destroyed!
Mikoto: Please, I beseech you! Save me, noble sir!
Yuda: You who rule time, here you'll remain!
(Ending)
(Yuda grabs Mikoto by the neck with a glowing hand. Mikoto is chained up.)
Mikoto (Devil): UHOOO.... W, Why don't you release me?
Yuda: Did you plan to possess her, and conceal yourself?
Mikoto (Devil): GYHAAA....
(Scene of Asra and his twin duking it out, in front of the face of Yuga.)
Yuda: Have you forgotten? I'm Yuda. I am Asra the Avenger! You once clipped my
wings, plunging me into darkness.
Mikoto (Devil): GYHAAA....
(Asra appears standing in front of a kneeling Yuga at the gates of the
Netherworld. Then we see Yuda grabbing Mikoto by the neck again, but with
Yuga's image behind her, also reeling in pain.)
Yuda: Then, I was reborn! Now die! Feel your victim's sadness, and my eternal
pain!
GOOOOO!
Mikoto (Devil): GYHAAA!!
(Black screen.)
Mikoto (Devil): ......
(Seen from behind, Mikoto is lying on the floor in front of a glowing Yuda.)
Mikoto (Angel): My heart's darkness is gone!
Yuda: All is destroyed.
Mikoto (Angel): Asra.... Just who are you?
(Picture of the 7 Seven Kings casted in shadows.)
Yuda: All returns to darkness.
GOOOOOOOOOOO!
Mikoto (Angel): Wait! Please.
(Yuda stands in the middle of Asra and his twin, and behind them, are the rest
of the 7 kings. Shiki is among them. Mikoto is still lying in front of Yuda.)
Yuda: Listen.
Shiki: Listen to me.
Asra: This is no place for you!
Mikoto (Angel): Are you...my father?
Seven Kings: We are the 7 kings! From the edge of eternity. We've awaited the
rebirth of the Universal King.
Mikoto (Angel): Who...are you?
(Yuda, seen from behind, sports a lot of wings on his back.)
Yuda: Plague me no longer!
(Just like Mikoto's ending, Yuda still trashes Yuga and liberates Mikoto from
his control. However, this ending is a bit more shody than Mikoto's, since
there's no long message by Asra and Shiki. This deals more with Yuda's
business. But the thing is, who are the other kings? Will we see them in
future Samurai Shodown games? Their figures are not all that defined, but they
could look cool, that is, if they take after Yuda. :) Can we say Yuda's the
man?)

CLOSING
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
Before the actual ending begins, sometimes a previous cinema may appear. This
usually happens if your character had to fight Oboro as their last boss, and
had previously met Nakoruru and rescued Rimururu afterwards. You can be
treated with the two following cinemas:
(Die....)
Oboro's two giant swords swirl around several times in the middle of the room
where you fought Oboro (or shall we say, the swords), while Oboro mutters
something. The swords impale themselves on the ground, and the light is
drained from both of them. At the top of the room, atop a balcony, the demon
Oboro reels in pain, wobbles, and is finally striked by the lights from the
swords, as he mumbles and moans. After that, he falls to the ground below, and
he dies in a pool of his own blood, as the whole scene goes black and white.
(Prayer.)
Basically, Nakoruru and Rimururu pray in a temple of the Maidens of Light
(which have glass-stained windows with the image of Nakoruru), and the
darkness that invades Riten Kyo suddenly vanishes and gives way to the light.
After the ending finishes, you are treated with the now classic credits.
During the credit scroll, several images appear, in brown colors, showing
several characters of the game, if not all. This is the order in which they
appear, while Nakoruru and Rimururu sing Nakoruru's theme song (not bad, in my
opinion, but others may think otherwise...):
1) Haomaru sits on a boat setting off to sea, rowed by some person. He has his
arms crossed, and looks dead serious.
2) 'Family' picture of Kuki (middle, arms crossed), Jin-Emon Hanafusa (right),
Seishiro Kuki (right), Tohma Kuki (left), Jushiro Sakaki (left, in his old
look), and Karen (left), in the middle of the garden of the Kuki dojo.
3) Minto and Ran Po, as mere kids, salute Daruma, who is seen from behind, in
Daruma's house. The kids actually look a lot more punkier.
4) In the Atom Rebels' camp, Saya and Rinka Yoshino walk through a garden
filled with kids. They seem to be talking with each other. Meanwhile,
Jushiro leans on one of the walls of the houses in the camp. looking around
aimlessly.
5) Samon and his troops of Samurai line up in a typical line-up photo, in
front of the Samurai Station.
6) Garyo the Whirlwind watches the sunset sitting on the edge of a cliff
facing the sea. Cyobi-suke tries to cheer Garyo up (seems like he can't get
over Mikoto).
7) Haito Kanakura, Yaci Izanagi, Namino, and a bunch of Brutes cause havoc in
the streets of Riten Kyo. Namely, the Brutes are thrashing every punk in
sight, while Haito, Yaci, and Nami overlook.
8) The Razor Trio stands in the middle of a room surrounded by kneeling Oboro
Amazons. In the middle, Tohma, at the right, Mikoto, and at the left,
Oboro, with his hands behind his back.
9) Mario pulls from Tashon Mao's face, while he is lying on the ground. Mei
sits next to them, looking at them in a pasive way.
10) A young Mugenji and his blind friend, Ocho, chase butterflies in a
flower field.
11) Yuda walks in a bare land, with one wing coming out of his back.
12) Hanzo Hattori supervises a Iga Ninja training session, with sparring
matches flying around everywhere in the Iga dojo.
13) Seishiro sits on the doorsteps of his dojo. The man standing behind him
could be Tohma, in their training days.
14) Rimururu, seen from behind, waves Nakoruru farewell, who is in front of
a tree, while sparks fly about.
Some questions still remain, though:
-Are Seishiro and Tohma biological brothers? Are they biological sons of Kuki?
Seishiro and Tohma really don't look too much like brothers. I mean, Terry and
Andy Bogard do, but Sogetsu and Kazuki don't. However, the difference here is
more notable. Seishiro's got the punky, spiked hair (left to him by Haomaru,
perhaps), and Tohma has the short, spiked hair, with red eyes. There isn't
enough solid proof to affirm Seishiro's origins, and even less that of Tohma.
Seishiro does refer a lot to Kuki as his dad, but Tohma doesn't seem to refer
to him with any respect (still, he killed Kuki, so I guess it's logical).
Also, during S.Kuno's ending, Tohma refers that, back when he killed Kuki, he
still called him his son. Does that mean Kuki always called him son, despite
the fact he wasn't? Interesting possibilities there....
-Mikoto and Tohma related somehow?
And I'm not talking in a sentimental way (because Tohma is obviously not
interested at all in establishing a relationship with Mikoto). They both have
red eyes and white hair. Could they be somewhat related? Notice that Mikoto is
of a cursed heritage, since she was the daughter of two of Yuga's servants:
Shiki and Asra. Could Tohma have something to do with Yuga? It could make
sense, since Yuga wants to give Tohma both of the Kuki swords (this is when he
talks to S.Kuno via Mikoto), but then again, Yuga himself ordered Mikoto to
kill Tohma (during his possession act). What's the deal? We'll soon see, but I
see another Shiki/Asra tragic love story around....
-Who is Jushiro's father?
When Tohma runs into Jushiro, Jushiro reminds some rumors about Tohma killing
his father. Now, we all know Jushiro trained under the orders of Kuki, and was
a training partner for both Seishiro and Tohma. So, could Kuki be Jushiro's
father, and hence, Seishiro and Tohma's brother? Kuki seems to be the only
real important person killed by Tohma. Otherwise, couldn't Jushiro's father be
another different man, killed by Tohma while he was escaping from the Bafuku
persecution? Details are unknown at the moment, and the same doubt that
involved Seishiro and Tohma's origin comes back here to Jushiro: is Jushiro a
real biological brother to Seishiro and Tohma, and a biological son to Kuki?
Remember how Tohma calls Jushiro by his real last name: Tatsumi. Details
later....
-Where is the "Land of Freedom" Daruma tells Haito about?
Since Daruma directs Haito to the east, he could be talking of either Ryukyu
(where he sent his grandchildren Ran Po and Minto to) or the USA. But since I
doubt Daruma would ever send a serial killer to place where his grandchildren
went, the USA would be the more viable solution. But then again, was the USA
known as the "land of freedome" back then? 34 years passed from the
Independence Day to the date of Warriors Rage, so we can't know for sure.
There could be the possibility for another place altogether, but it could be
out of the question....
-What is Hanzo Hattori's real age?
Back in the original Samurai Shodown series, Hanzo was around 30-35 years old.
Now he should be around 50-55. What bothers me the most is that he doesn't
look as old as Haomaru. I've seen some drawings of Hanzo without a mask, and
he looks young enough. However, Jin-Emon is the same age as Haomaru, so it
just could be him. Rumors abound he is another Hanzo, and not the same ninja,
but since he recognizes and talks with Haomaru and stuff like that, it is
unlikely. Ninja make-up? Hmmm.....
-Yuda and the 7 kings.
Will we ever see the whole 7 kings in action? I'm dumbfounded by many of
Yuda's antics, but they are usually more literal than anything else. Oh well,
good riddance.....
-Haomaru = Haohmaru?
Yep, SNK's decided to nix a letter in Haohmaru's original name. It is still
pronounciated the same, but is quite weird to see no middle "h" in Haomaru's
name.
And with this, ends this pretty long Warriors Rage ending FAQ, which was
longer than I expected it to be. I hope you had enjoyed reading it, and
especially, found it useful, because I didn't! Heh heh...kidding there. Have a
nice one! See you in Samurai Shodown V (hopefully)!

CREDITS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
-Version 0.1 (July 4, 2000)
Did the whole thing after a week or so of computer work, and a whole weekend
of writing down all the dialogues and endings. Phew! Lots of hard work. Thank
God it's still summer. :) More corrections coming up later, if anybody ever
bothers to point them out for me....:P
Credits? Well, all I can say is that I pretty much did this FAQ on my own, and
I know that few (if any) people would have supported me with this project,
since everybody seems to hate Warriors Rage a lot. Oh well, you can't have
everything. But if I had to point out a few good men...:
-My brother for actually buying the game.
-The KOF Mailing List, since they are all my buddies there. God bless all.
-Rubi, for existing, ya know. :*
Yep, can't get over some stuff, eh? Well, at least I'm not too depressed now.
Life's got a lot to offer! Can't waste all in whining! Hope you guys have a
good trip! Thanks for reading this FAQ, and look forward to later works of
mine! Thanks from the bottom of my heart! :)
