2. Rules

* 2.1 Main Rules *

Objective
`````````
 The main objective is to complete the total score first, or to be the player
with the highest score within the match time.

Roles
`````
 There are three basic roles in the game:
   - Offense, who possesses of the ball.
   - Defense, who tries to get possession of the Offense's ball.
   - No ball, when none of the players possesses the ball.
The Offense player starts on the left side of the screen, and the Defense
player starts on the right side of the screen - this order is only switched on
Player 2's story mode. If the Offense loses the ball and the Defense hasn't
captured it, both players will be in a No Ball mode until one of them gets it.

Points
``````
 A successful field goal will give points to the player that performed it. The
points depend on the distance of the attempt: two points if performed inside
the three-point line, and three points if performed outside the three-point
line. If a field goal is successful, the Offense - Defense roles will
be switched.

Score
`````
 The default score is 11 points. The first round is won whenever one of the
players gets half (even score) / half plus one (odd score) of the total score.
The second round is won whenever one of the players gets the total score.

Rounds
``````
 There is always a minimum of two rounds. The first round will start with
Player 1 as the Offense player, while the second round will start with CPU /
Player 2 as the Offense player.

Round Time
``````````
 The default time is 40 seconds per round. If neither player has scored half
of the points in the first round before the time runs out, the second round
will start.

Extra Rounds
````````````
 If the score is tied on the second round, extra tiebreaker rounds of 20
seconds each will be added until the score favours one of the two players when
the time runs out. The Offense - Defense roles will always be kept as they were
before the time ran out.

Charge
``````
 A successful foul from the Defense player will return the players to their
initial positions - the ball will still be in possession of the Offense player.


Double Dribble
``````````````
 The Offense player always starts with the two hands on the ball ([2P]).
Afterwards, the Offense player has the opportunity to dribble, block, etc.
However, if the Offense touches the ball with both hands again, it will have to
try a shot or lose the ball - a new attempt to dribble will be counted as a
foul and the Offense-Defense roles will be switched.

Out of Bounds
`````````````
 Whenever the Offense player's ball gets out of the field, the Offense-Defense
roles will be switched.

Shot Clock
``````````
 An Offense player must do an attempt to score before a limited time - the
default time is 20 seconds. If there isn't any attempt, the Offense-Defense
roles will be switched. However, any unsuccessful try to score will restart the
timer whenever the Offense catches the ball again.

Traveling
`````````
 If the Offense player moves one or both of their feet without the ball being
dribbled, the Offense-Defense roles will be switched. This foul is easy to do
with Manbe and Luka, who can travel long distances quickly.

5.1 Translator's Notes:
```````````````````````
This game's moveset was rather easy to translate, since 70% of the move lists
are in katakana. However, I have a bunch of notes:
 - Manbe's "Saru jump" translates to "Monkey jump".
 - Furin's move names are in kanji - My translations might be bad:
     "Hotsume" means "Flying Tiger Claw". This can refer to the Flying Tigers
       or a grappling hook in chinese.
     "Hibaku" is written as "Flying Rush", but read as "Atomic bombing".
     "Tsume Tsubasa" means "Wing Claw".
     "Tenshou Geki" translates as "Heaven Palm Attack".
     "Bakugeki Tsume" is written as "Rushing Claw Shot", but read as
       "Bomber Claw".
     "Shiroi Bakumai" means "White Rush Dance".
 - Shota's "Yancha kick" translates to "Naughty kick".
 - Luka's "Kneel" seems to be a reference to both "knee" and / or "O'Neal"
     (Shaquille). However, "Flying Kneel" is a common Puroresu move.
 - Oscar's "Sabaki" translates as "judgment" and / or "veredict".
 - Dr. T's "Funfun" onomatopoeia moves are references to Hanamichi Sakuragi's
     early goofy moves from Slam Dunk.
