2. Well here it is my Dragon Saber Faq its going to be Crazy Just Cause
I feel Like it. These aren't actual Stage names or Boss names by the Way
I just wanted to put them like that for (insert reason here). Dragon Saber
is a really great game; for its time it had great graphics and an actual
story line for why you were flying through all these areas shooting up this
stuff, The ending actually shows more than one picture, many many powerups and
much originality with you being a dragon rather than the helicopter or plane.
I liked it so much I'm writing a Guide for it.

B.Game Story

1.Dragon Spirit
This is the game that started it all. Dragon Spirit also made by Namco told
the tale of the hero Amru who used a sword to turn into a dragon. His reason?
To rescue his  love Alicia from the monster Zawel and his minions. The game
is quite difficult and it will push you to the edge to beat the last level so
incase you can't find the game or can't beat it here below is the ending
oh yeah
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




As the blue dragon Amru Defeats Zawel and flies into the chamber after his
area and finds Alicia trapped in a mirror which shatters and frees her.
Amru turns human and goes down to meet her. We are shown a picture of her
huggig him and the words below it are
Zawell's  ambition was
crushed by the brave
attempts of the warrior
Amul and Bluedragon to
rescue Princess Alicia
from the hands of her
Captors.
(switches to a picture of people celebrating)
The kingdom Cloud
Ultimatly Restored Peace.
People were Rejoiced to
start from a nightmare.
Thus celebrating The
Restoration and Jazzing
up with Joy
(switches to picture of Amru and Alicia standing together)
The Evil Perished, and
The light came back to
the kingdom again as
if celebrating its
prosperity and
Happiness

Those Grammatical Errors and odd sounding senteces were taken from the game
not mistakes on my part.

2.Dragon Spirit: The New Legend
This game was more like a remake of dragon spirit for the NES. However some
of the stages have been greatly altered (like the last one) as well as it
being sort of a side story to the original games plot here is the games story
from the game itself.
Leave the game on the first press start screen to see this

Time went by.
The abominable
incident by ZAWEL
was fading away from
the people's memory.

But  the monsters of
darkness were not
dead. Their growing
power  was ready to
cover the EARTH again

Now the NEW DRAGON
LEGEND is ready to
begin.
Press start first time for this
(Shows Dragon Spirit logo)
The hero AMRU
disguised as a BLUE
DRAGON is finally
about to fight the
MONSTER ZAWEL.
You go through a very dummbed down version of the final stage of Dragon Spirit
if you complete the stage without dying.

AMRU and ARISHA
married and had twins.
AMRU became ill from
his battle with Zawel.

The twins were named
LACE and IRIS.
Meanwhile, GALDA
started  conquering
the EARTH.

GALDA took IRIS away
as his victim.  LACE
took the sword ,which
his father left, to
slay GALDA.
Beat the game with this Starting story to recieve this ending

GALDA was slayed by
the BLUE DRAGON.
The monsters returned
to darkness.
Light and peace were
restored to the EARTH
Now a NEW LEGEND is
created. The new hero
Lace, and his name will
be remebered forever.

3.Dragon Saber
While Dragon Spirit:The New Legend is a side story to the first Dragon Saber
is the real sequel The japanese version even says so. here is the exact story
of Dragon Saber as portrayed by the game if you leave it without credits for
too long.

The Human Beings Have repeated their Foolish History, because of their own
desires.  And every-thing around then

has been to come to nothing

Advanced Alchmey has caused eviromental disruption. The world has been filled
with evil creatures.
And the human beings have been threatened with extinction.

I won't mention the ending since your most likely reading this to help you
beat the game and if you have beat the game and are reading it anyway you
should already know the ending.
Well now that you have the back story
C. The game Stages

1. Brain Busting
After the turning into dragons on the hilltop scene you begin the first stage.
Just shoot the creatures flying in a line at you they don't shoot any bullets
and you should be able to easily take out both waves of them. One of them
releases a red powerup icon take in to enhance your shot power and then use it
to take out any remaining creatures in the air and get rid of the spiders in
the water below with your ground shot. Take out the monsters in the water
with groundfire as soon as you can cause they can be of great annoyance watch
for blue eggs on the ground for head powerups as well as the red ones for
shot powerups. You can see some creatures on the ground preparing to take off
shoot these on the ground to stop them from becoming airbourne. When you see
two big tick looking monsters kil them off with charged up shots or they will
spew little baby versions of themselves.When the little bugs with pincers
begin flying it shoot em quick or they will detach there head and  send it
at you. After that you'll discover while I call this stage Brain Busting.

2. Out of the Frying pan
This level has a couple of tricky spots but nothing too bad. Use charged shots
to kill the ball monsters. A couple of monster will try to charge you but
aren't hard  at all to kill before they reach you use charged shots and rapid
fire. Use Chaged shots to make quick work of the worms that come out of the
lava. Make sure to get the fire icon powerup from the red eggs it is very
powerful. Don't try to run across the part with the spewing lava till the
last second you can or you will be put at a disadvantage by flying in monsters
coming into the screen. Be on the lookout for heart icons dropped by the
turtle monster's on the ground. Once you reach a circular lave pool its
boss time.

3.The Hive of Horrors
Hang on to the Fire Icon powerup if you still have it from the previous level
the little wing icons aren't as powerful. Be wary of the walls as they can
trap you and kill you. If you hear a squeaking sound beware ghost like
creatures are about to start attacking you. The little skeleton snakes that
come out of the holes can be destroyed but will keep coming back kill them
at strategic times so you can get away without them bothering you. The little
things on the ground that shoot out eyes can be destroyed with ground fire
as well as those blasted scorpions. The Boss lies in a chamber at the end of
the level which starts with several of those eye makers.

4.Plant Life Can Suck
Stage four is full of strage plant and animals you would see around plants
monsters. You'll want to get the electriciy icon powerup so you can clear
the screen of monsters if you get overwhelmed. Beware of the big flowers as
they suck you toward them so other stuff can get you. They can be hurt with
Above fire but only ground fire will destroy them completly. There are also
smaller flowers that shoot bullets that you can only destroy with ground fire.
When you see the big worm things don't bother launching and assault agaisnt
them they take awhile to kill and are easier just to dodge. Make sure to kill
of Snails on the walkways as well as the spiders. When you see the messed up
stuff on the ground start to end you are practically at the boss.

5.Canyon Crazy
When you start the stage going into the canyon make sure you land in the
canyon or your gonna die when you get there you must think fast on this stage.
When it starts I go back and forth taking out the mushrooms on the walls if
you don't they explode into bullets when you get to a fork I go right.
Follow the same pattern and then go right again. Now your at the ocean. Take
out the shadows to save yourself a little trouble. After this the boss awaits.

6.I'm Freezing My Tail Off
Ok this level is HARD. They had a level with moving walls like this in The
New Legend. This one isn't as hard as that one however. First thing is avoid
walls they will terminate you quickly. If you see shadows moving across the
ground shoot them if possible cause they will spring up as some sort of ice
mole of death and shoot spikes at you. Take out turtles as soon as possible
they have a crapload of firepower and aren't afraid to use it. Get the
crescent moon powerup as soon as possible it will help you to even out all
the many enemies on this level. Beware of Flashing butterflies some may hold
skulls. You know you are close to the boss when the spiked sides end.

7.You Don't Wanna Know where we are now
Well Huey and Sira seem to have found themselves inside some giant bug and now
they have to blast there way out. This level is very tough you'll encounter
lots of weird enemies in here. When you are going over the ribs watch out
cause some of them come to life to swipe at you. Take out the eyes looking
in to see what's causing such a musclecrap as they shoot junk at you. After
facing some of those brown cells that divide as you shoot them you face a
bubblemini boss ,which is told of in my miniboss faq. Then you face the boss
hey we weren't where we thought we were after all.

8.Where is The Rest of This Level?
Level 8 is quite short. You just fly across some very ominous clouds and
shoot some statues that give different powerups.  Pick your favorite and
watch out for skulls there is no boss.

9.Factory slash Palace of EVIL!
Ok this is it the final area some people see it as a palace I always thought
it was a factory cause of all the mechanical enemies ,and the fact that
chemicals cause mutations in creature and thus this being the last level was
the source of all the monsters.  Well that's what I thought when I played
this game years ago but when I got to play it again it looks like a palace
too. Anyway, You'll start off with several tiles flying at you you can hinder
some of them but not all of them can be destroyed. Take out as many of the
little cannons running around as you can. If you see any flashing butterflies
don't shoot them they all contain skulls and you don't need that especially
as hard as this is already,However, you may have to in order to dodge some
of the other obsticles. The laser lines that block your path can be
destroyed, as well as the ones that shoot wide lasers across your path.
When you reach the gold hall the final showdown awaits. Also dont' bother
trying to destroy the pillars that fall into place entering the boss's
chamber they can't be destroyed.

D. The Bosses
Every stage exept 8 has a boss and it looks as though they made up for it
with that stupid bubble mini boss.

1.No Pinky and a Brain
When you see the giant thing ahead use ground fire to take out those 3
pores on it so it can't shower you with these nasty little star brain things.
When its eyelid opens shoot it with ground fire until it comes after you just
stay at the bottom of the screen shooting at it while dodging it and you
won't have  much if any trouble.

2.Crispy the Lava Dragon
Once again no these aren't the real names I just made this faq have a couple
of jokes in it to keep attention which I have probably lost by now.
Anyway if you have the Fire Icon Powerup he's a sinch just charge up and shoot
so that it stays on him a few seconds causing massive damage.  When you do
this however watch out for the mini fire balls that come off him. that's why
you'll want to wait a little bit inbetween attacking sessions.

3.Queen of an Annoying Stage
Easy Easy Easy ok you could shoot off its egg sac thing but that would allow
it free movement so just destroy any eye makers it makes and then shoot the
crap out of the top. All it does it shoot little streams of bad breath at you
which are easily dodged.

4.The Little SKull Tree that Couldn't Move
This one's a little tougher. Save up your shots and shoot them so that they
hit his open mouth and kill the bats at the same time. Its good to have the
Wing Icon powerup for this one as it can take out the bats alot quicker.You
will want to stay at the most bottom part of the screen going left and right
as needed to watch out for flailing branches.

5.Spikey Little Fiend
Not to tough just go around the little swarms of rocks and shoot him up. After
Awhile he breaks apart. Fly into the inner circle of the rocks and shoot up
the main piece until this rock crumbles.

6.Freezy the Ice Dragon
OK another easy one. Just shoot the crap out of him as he weaves in and out of
holes in the wall. Watch out for the ocasional Ice spikes as well.

7.Innards Projectionist Dragon
Hmm his zombie apperance and the arena that you fight him in leads me to
believe that this is really zawel. He apparently was just projecting an image
of the insides of some creature. Well he did a good job. Anyway watch for
ghost monsters and only use charged up shots. If you hit him with rapid fire
he spews rocks that will kill you quickly.

8.This space just for Parrelism
Yep stage 8 has no boss so this is just to match the 8 levels.

9.The Dark Evil Bad Spirit
The final Battle and the source of all the trouble. This guy shoots many
crecent moon bullets that circle the screen at you. Appears to be
another Zawel tactic. You can only hurt him with charge shots when his little
neck ornament is on. Problem is when its off you'll be dodging other attacks
this monster likes to summon all kinds of creatures to help it(even copies
of you!)win the battle. Having a friend is good cause after stage 9 you
probably won't have any powerups left.Just keep blasting him and don't give
up is all you really can do.

E. The Powerups

1.Red Powerup Icon-Found on all levels and inreases the strength of your
current type of fire.

2.Blue Trident-Gives you and extra head (up to 3) and cancels any other type
of firepower you have. Found on most Levels

3.Red Fire Icon- Let you let out a huge blast of energy and Circular bullets
fully charged. Very powerful Found only on stage 2 and 8 only it seems.

4.Moon Icon-Let you shoot out little half moons that attack enemies how
many depends on power level. Found only on stage 6 and 8

5.Electricity Icon-when charged attacks all enemies on screen it dosen't
seem to do too much damage though found first on stage 4, 8 ,and 7.

6.Wing Icon- Basically make your charged shot and bullets cover more
distance to take out many enemies found on 3,4, and 8.

7.S Icon-Gives you a temporary shield that kills enemies

8.Purple Icon- Don't see it very much but I think it shrinks you to make you
less vunerable any info sent to me would be appreciated.

F. Other Stuff
1.Funny names the credits use alot of nicknames I guess they thought no one
would ever get this far. Names include: Arakawa Da and Megaten Hosoe

2.Message in credits-If you watch the credits you'll see the words
May this not be the future of Our planet written. sniff such
beautiful words.

3.Lava Skimming Images-In stage 2 watch the lava for scenes of enemies ,and
stages, and even the game logo go flying by.

4.The Japanese version has the words AFTER STORY OF DRAGON SPIRIT written
on the title screen.

5.The PC engine Version- The PC engine aka Turbo grafx in the states had
Dragon Spirit and Dragon saber only Dragon Saber was only released in Japan
for this system.
