01.) INTRODUCTION G0100

Welcome to 'J.B. Harold: Blue Chicago Blues' for the LaserActive, released by
Riverhillsoft and Pioneer in 1994. The game was also ported to many other
devices such as the 3DO and even the Playstation but the only English version
exists on the LaserActive.
Blue Chicago Blues is the final entry in the 5-part J.B. Harold detective
series.
As the game was only available in English on the hard-to-come by LaserActive
and I do not even have access to this version, the walkthrough is entirely in
Japanese. This covers all the other platforms assuming they are identical. For
the English one it is not hard to translate my commands to English and use in
that version. Nevertheless if you want to experience the videos in English
rather than horrible dubbing you can watch the videos online for each day and
it might just be more fun. Additionally, the LaserActive seems to be the only
version that features full videos of all interactions rather than being
replaced with images and just voice-overs as observed on the 3DO.

After 1pm there will be a scene when you return to the car. If you need to
waste some time just keep talking to the people above about the same thing
again. Each conversation is 5~10 minutes. After the scene you have access to a
new location.

You are done for the day, this being the easiest for daytime exploration. You
now wait until 6pm to automatically return to the police department.
Incidentally, best way to waste time on the 3rd day is to talk to Mrs. Hayes
over and over again. She loves the cops (okay she also her limits but you can
just go back and talk to her again for a while and she is out after 6pm anyway
so that is perfect).

The entire chapter is spent at the police department conducting interrogations.
First your photographer friend comes in.

At this point you talked to all suspects but rather than finishing up you make
another round of interviews (Melanie will not come back and neither is she a
suspect).

Ask from top to bottom until you eventually get new options (2) and then only
the option to cross-examine (問い詰める).
* ジュリア (Julia):
Ask from top to bottom until you eventually get new options (2) and then only
the option to cross-examine (問い詰める).
* リッチ (Rich)
Ask from top to bottom until you eventually get new options (2) and then only
the option to cross-examine (問い詰める).
* シンディ (Cindy)
Ask from top to bottom until you eventually get new options (2) and then only
the option to cross-examine (問い詰める).
Cross-examine all suspects once more.
Julia should be out at the point so cross-examine the last 3 suspects and the
ending should play.
In case you are wondering if you got the bad ending, there is only one
ending and it does end this way. Strange but true. Rossen later writes a letter
to JB about wanting to work with him again and that he started drinking again.
