You need the scroll for each special attack in order to use it (see the “Other
Important Notes” section below)!
3. Basic Impact Strategy
Some Impact robots are move evasive than others, but the basic strategy is
the same.
-The fan on the left charges up the laser attack. It has three forms.
1) *If the plan is slightly raised, your nasal bullet attack will be
slightly more powerful.
2) *If the target sights are yellow, your nasal bullet attack turns into a
heat-seeker missile.
3) *If the fan is at maximum height (the little Goemon looking guys should
be jumping around), your target sights will be red, and you can use the
laser attack.
Pushing the TRIANGLE button (shoots the nasal bullets) lowers the fan each
time you use it. Try not to use it until you are primed for the laser attack.
-The fan on the right charges up the machine-gun punch. You must charge this
up yourself by holding the CIRCLE button (right punch). If you use this
button, or use the speed burst (X button), this fan will decrease. Charge
this button up at all times, and only use the speed burst button if you are
in trouble.
-You should ALWAYS be moving when fighting, while facing the enemy. You
should move in one direction while turning to face the boss, so you can see
its attacks. For example, if you move right, you should slowly turn to the
left, and vice versa. However, most Impact bosses have an attack where they
shoot a series of bullets, so you should also move in the direction than they
are shooting. If they are moving and shooting to the right, you should be
moving right. This way, you’ll miss their projectile attacks, as well as
dodging all charging attacks.
-Use the speed burst ONLY in dire situations!
-Only attack the robot when your machine gun punch and / or your laser attack
is ready. If it is, approach the robot when it is not attacking, and let
loose! If you have both the machine gun punch and the laser attack ready, use
them back-to-back (first the machine gun punch, then the laser)!
-When you approach the enemy to hit it with the machine gun punch, get close
enough to hit it, but do not “bounce” off of the robot, or your attack will
miss.
-If you have to, you can use the laser attack from long range (but be sure
not to miss the enemy).
-Sometimes, when you use the machine gun punch and / or the laser attack, a
green shield with a yellow ring with protect the enemy from another attack.
You can’t hit the enemy while the shield is up!
-Remember, only attack using the machine gun punch and the laser attack.
Nothing else is worth your time!
4. Basic Board Completion Strategy
Use for every board, unless the walkthrough say otherwise!
This is simple. To complete the average board:
-Look around as you travel to find energy dumplings and fortune dolls.
-Don’t waist your time picking up the bombs that you can throw, because they are
extremely hard to target your enemy with (you’ll miss most of the time).
-Just kick the little bomb enemies. It’s more accurate.
-When flying enemies attack, don’t try to fight them on small platforms (or
moving platform), because they’ll try to knock you off. Instead, continue on
until you reach solid, wide ground, and then eliminate them.
-When you reach the spinning spike-head enemies, hit them as soon as possible.
Once they fall, don’t allow them to get back up, and keep attacking non-stop
until they are dead.
-Don’t allow yourself to get double or triple team! Try to get all of the
enemies in front of you so you can attack them all at once. When all else
fails, run away (but they’ll chase you sometimes)!
5. Stores / Houses
*Food Store (House that has Blue Curtains with small white rectangles on the
front) - You can buy food here that instantly refills your energy. The more
money you spend, the more your energy refills. You shouldn’t buy food here,
because it is cheaper to use the backup food to refill energy.
*Backup Food Store (House that has Red Curtains with circles and Japanese
characters on the front) - You can buy food to use later when your energy is
down. The energy dumpling (3 colored balls) refills about ¼ of your energy. The
rice ball (white taco-looking item) refills all your energy. Use these to refill
health instead of the food at the Food Store.
*Hotel (House that has Blue Curtains with small white squares on the front) –
Come here to buy a room for the night so you can recover lost energy. To do
this, pick the first option, then pick options 1-3 (from left to right, cheap to
expensive). The more expensive, to more energy to recover (but again, it is
cheaper to recover energy using the backup food).
If you pick the second option, then the first option, you can save your game
here too. DO THIS OFTEN.
*Armor Store (House that has Blue Curtains with small white circles on the
front) – Contains three different shields that you can buy:
1) Blue Shield Pass: You take no damage for a short period of time
2) Red Shield Pass: You take 25% of the damage from attacks for a short period
of time
3) Green Shield Pass: You take 50% of the damage from attacks for a short period
of time
You can go to the pause menu screen when you push pause to use them (see the
“Other Important Notes” section below). A shield will cover you for a short
period of time. Only buy these if you struggle with this game, and don’t enter
the final castle unless you have at least 2 blue shield passes.
*Change Character Hut (Pentagonal-shaped hut; red colored)
Go here to change characters (use the CIRCLE button to do it). There is no real
reason to do it except to see the different moves.
6. Other Important Notes (VERY IMPORTANT!!)
-If you got this walkthrough from The Mystical Web Site of Goemon, YOU NEED the
town and stage maps that are "with" this walkthrough. YOU CANNOT USE THIS
WALKTHROUGH WITHOUT THEM!
If you got this from GameFaqs, you need to get these maps from The Mystical Web
Site of Goemon (since this is a product of that site). Go to the Goemon Imports
section, and then go to this game's page. The maps are available there (and
there are ALOT of references to the map, so you almost need it)!
There are 3 TOWN MAPS, AND 6 STAGE MAPS.
The website is located at
http://mysticalninja.virtualave.net. This game's
Import page at this site is
http://goemon.8m.com/GoemonImport/psx2.html.
-To use the backup food, armor shields, and see the scroll moves that you have,
you must use the pause menu screen. There are two screens. The screen that you
get automatically when you pause contains the backup food / armor shields. Use
the D-pad and the CIRCLE button to use the items.
To see the scroll moves, move to the second rectangle on the right and hit the
CIRCLE button. You can see here how many scrolls that you have for THAT
CHARACTER, as well as the actually moves that you can do (see the “Characters”
section at the top).
-To use the Move Scrolls, you must first collect them in the game. The
walkthrough and the maps tells / shows you the locations of them.
-Using a Move Scroll Attack has its limits. You can only them until the “shadow”
over your energy covers the energy bar. You can use backup food to replenish it,
however. Use this method when fighting the Robot Boss at the Ayashi Castle!
-Collect all fortune dolls and backup foods that you find on the stages. Four
silver fortune dolls extends your power bar (and refills depleted energy), and
one gold fortune doll also extends your power bar (and refills depleted energy
too).
If you collect all of the backup food, you shouldn’t have to buy food from the
Food Store!
-Always use the L1 and R1 button to turn the camera angles so you can line up
jumps properly.

7. Walkthrough
Town 1 (Town Map One)
When you begin, go to Omitsu’s house (on the other side of the river – see Town
Map One). Once you exit her house, save and stock up on items, then go north to
the gate that leads to the Mountain Stage.
Mountain Stage
Go to the top, and pickup the energy dumplings and Move Scroll (for Goemon)
along the way. When you get to the top, a cinema will start, and you will get an
item. Once the conversation is done, go back down the mountain to get back to
town.
Once you are back in town, go back to Omitsu’s house (you will discover here
that she is missing). Once you leave her house, go to the east gate in town to
meet up with Omitsu’s abductors, Sun, Go, Detch, and their Impact robot. Yes,
time for an Impact fight. Use the “Basic Impact Strategy” at the top of this
walkthrough to defeat him.
After the fight is over and Impact is defeated from the sneak-attack, Goemon is
put into the hospital. Yae, Sasuke, and Ebisumaru must get his cure.
Town 2 (Town Map Two)
Go back to Town 1 (see Town Map Two on how to get there), and then go back to
the Mountain Stage. Make your way up the mountain, and the man will give you
another item. Next, descend the mountain, enter Town 1 and make your way to Town
2. Once you are there, enter the door in the northeast section of this town to
get to the Multi-Board Section (see Town Map Two).
Multi-Board Section
In here, there are 3 stages (one for each character; it will automatically
change to the character for that board when you enter). At the end of each
stage, you will meet up with either Sun, Go, or Detch and their Impact machine
(one boss per stage). If you defeat them, you will get an item to cure Goemon.
You need all 3 items to get the cure. You can go to the boards in ANY ORDER.
To the left of where you enter, you can jump up to a series of platforms to
reach Ebisumaru’s world. As you proceed through this world, don’t forget to pick
up the Move Scroll for Ebisumaru. When you reach the end, you will fight Go and
his Impact machine. Use the “Basic Impact Strategy” section to learn how to beat
him. Just be sure to speed burst when he charges you (you must do this)!
After you defeat him, you must return to the Multi-Stage Section. You should get
the 2 fortune dolls and another Move Scroll for Ebisumaru (outside of the exit)
on your way back.
Directly north (on the ground) should be a circus-themed world for Sasuke.
Before you jump up to the platforms at the beginning, collect the Move Scroll
for Sasuke at the edge of the ground. When you get to the 3-way intersection, go
straight. However, after your fight with Detch’s robot at the end, you’ll want
to go both left and right to collect an energy dumpling and a fortune doll. As
you continue straight to go back to the Multi-Stage Section, collect another
Move Scroll for Sasuke outside of the exit.
In the northeast corner of the Multi-Stage section (across the bridge) should be
Yae’s stage. As you continue, be sure to pick up the Move Scroll for Yae at her
first fight with TWO enemies (look for it on the left). When you reach the end,
you will fight Sun’s Impact robot. When he is defeating, make your way back to
the Multi-Stage Section, but pickup the two fortune dolls along the way, as well
as the other Move Scroll for Yae outside of the exit.
You’re done with the Multi-Stage Section. Now head back to the Mountain Stage
via Town 1 and climb the mountain to talk to the man again (be sure to pick up
the 3 fortune dolls on your way up. The man turns the items into a cure for
Goemon. Descend the mountain, and pickup the gold Fortune Doll on the way. Then,
head back to Town 2 and go to the Doctor’s Office to the left of where you enter
Town 2 (see Town Map Two). Once Goemon is cured, go to the gate in the north
(see Town Map Two) to get to Town 3.
Town 3 (Town Map Three)
Once you are in this new town, go to the northeast to Wise Old Man’s House (see
Town Map Three). After you talk to him, go directly south from his house to
reach the Pieces Stage (see Town Map Three).
Pieces Stage (Pieces Stage Map)
In this stage, you must find the 12 Impact pieces and bring them back to Wise
Old Man 3 at a time (you can only carry 3 at a time; therefore you must revisit
this stage 4 times, and exit the stage 4 times to take the pieces back to Wise
Old Man’s house in Town 3). Refer to the Pieces Stage Map for the location of
the Impact pieces and the fortune dolls in this stage.
Once you have given Wise Old Man all of the pieces, you must go way back to the
Mountain Stage via Town 1. As you climb the mountain, get the two silver fortune
dolls, as well as the gold fortune doll in the rolling boulder section. Talk to
the guy in the house at the top of the mountain to get a wedding pass from the
man. When the conversation ends, get the Move Scroll behind the tree to your
right, as well as the fortune doll on your way down. When you exit this stage
for the last time (yes, you don’t have to come here any more), go back to Town
3. Once you are there, go north and enter the gate with the face on it (see Town
Map Three) to go to Ayashi Castle.
Ayashi Castle
You will start in a vacant town. Head to the north, and eventually, you will see
a big gate. Before you enter the gate, search the right wall behind the houses
for a fortune doll. The cross the gate, but do not enter the castle. Instead,
search the lower-right section of the wall for another silver fortune doll.
Finally, head north to enter the castle.
There are 5 different floor, each with a save point and a change character point
(these are located between the two tall pillars; simply walk between them to
access these options). There is also an exit, which leads to the next floor. The
five floor maps (see Ayashi Castle Floor Maps) show the locations of all the
fortune dolls, Move Scrolls, save points, change character points, and exits.
Though the locations of the energy dumplings / rice balls are not shown, they
are at most of the dead ends, so take the time to visit them!
On the 5th floor, you must make it to the exit AND beat the boss in 5 minutes.
Keep this in mind before deciding to roam for items (and collect the fortune
doll on this floor; it takes about a minute to reach the fortune doll without
fighting any enemies). When you reach the exit, you will fight a robot boss.
Robot Boss
His attacks are:
1. He jumps and makes a shockwave when he lands (don’t let him jump on you, and
jump over the shockwaves).
2. Electricity begins to flow through his body, and then he punches you 3 times.
Run away to avoid the punches.
3. His hands start to turn, and he shoots at you with his machine-gun. You can
get close to him to avoid the bullets and attack him.
4. He grabs you and slams you (stay away from his hands)!
If he is close to you, attack with the Pipe Uppercut.
If he is in a medium-range to you, attack with your Spin Kick.
If he is far away from you, attack with the Dive Punch.
If you hit him with multiple attacks at a time, he will start attack #2, so stay
alert.
After his defeat, you will see a series of cinemas, followed by a rematch with
the first Impact robot that you fought against in this game (he put Goemon in
the hospital, remember). Use the “Basic Impact Strategy” at the top of this
walkthrough to defeat him.
After his defeat, another cinema will come on, followed by the formation of all
the different Impacts in this game into one Impact machine. Then you will fight
the final Impact robot of the game (once again, use the “Basic Impact
Strategy”). After his defeat, sit back and watch the ending to this game.
