| [1], [2], [3],... Used to show interchangable speech, in which
| one line is said by whoever's in one party
| member. Different party combinations needed
| to get some of the dialogue, so, in essence,
| the bracketed numbers represent the possible
| reactions to a given action. Because, say,
| one person is listed multiple times does not
| mean they have speech there repeatedly -- it
| all depends on the order and the characters.

| [*] An asterisk by someone's name means they
| will say text if they are present. It's not
| the same as above in that the asterisk'd
| parts represent speech that will _always_
| occur when present, as opposed to the varied
| party lineups that are needed to get the
| above.

| NOTE: Some people just simply don't have dialogue on some options,
| either because it's out of character (Magus never seems to say
| anything in sappy thank-you scenes, for instance) or because
| they weren't involved with an aspect/didn't experience a part
| of the game that would elicit a response from them. Ayla and
| Frog, being of the olden days, sometimes lack dialogue in this
| respect.

character is asleep in his room nearby, and is woken up by his mother.]
Mom: "Crono... Crono! Good morning, Crono! Come on, sleepyhead! Get up!
Ah, Leene's Bell makes such beautiful music! You were so excited
about the Millennial Fair that you didn't sleep well, did you...?
I want you to behave yourself today! Let's get moving, now!"
[Crono follows his mother downstairs after waking up.]
Mom: "Finally! By the way, that inventor friend of yours... Uh...you
know! Oh, dear, I've forgotten her name!"
[Crono can name his inventor friend, default: Lucca.]
Mom: "That's right, Lucca! Don't forget that she invited you to see
her new invention! Run along now, and be back before dinner."
[Crono leaves his house and heads to the festivities at Leene Square.
He bumps into a girl there.]
Girl: "Hey!! Ouch, that hurt! I'm so sorry! Are you okay? Uh oh... My
pendant!"
[Crono recovers it for her.]
Girl: "Oh, thank goodness! My pendant! It has a lot of sentimental
value! May I have it back?"
R1 --> Yes.
R2 --> No.
R1: [See below.]
R2: [Crono withholds it.]
[He hands the pendant over.]
Girl: "I came to see the Festival! You...live in this town, don't you?!
I feel a little out of place here. Would you mind if I walked
around with you for a while?
R1 --> Sure.
R2 --> Sorry.
R1: "You're a true gentleman! Oh, by the way... My name is,
er..." [Default: Marle] "...um, Marle! And you're? Crono?
What a nice name! Pleased to meet you! Now, lead on!"
R2: "Oh, come on! I don't know anyone around here! Please!"
R3 --> Ok.
R4 --> No.
R3: [Same as R1.]
R4: [She repeats R2.]
[Crono and Marle play some games and booths for awhile. They go to
Lucca's lot after awhile, but Marle drags Crono to a candy vendor.]
Marle: "Hold your horses! I want to get some candy. Hi! I'd like some
of this!"
Lady: "Sure, young lady."
Marle: "Thanks for waiting!"
[They go to see Luca's invention. She's there with her father and a
few spectators.]
Taban: "Step right on up, any of you who have the time and the courage!
Our 'Super Dimensional Warp' is the invention of the century! To
use it, jump up here... ...and you'll get teleported here! It's
the masterwork of my beautiful daughter, Lucca."
[Crono goes to Lucca.]
Lucca: "Crono! Where have you been!? No one wants to try the Telepod!
How about you?"
Marle: "It looks fun! I'll watch while you try it out!"
Lucca: "Just hop onto the left pod!"
[Crono does.]
Taban: "All systems on!"
Lucca: "Begin energy transfer!"
[Crono warps to the right pod.]
All: "Oh wow. That was GREAT!"
Marle: "What a kick! I want to try it, too!"
Lucca: "Huh? Hey Crono, how did you pick up a cutie like her?"
Marle: "Hang on, Crono! I'll be right there!"
Taban: "Behold, ladies and gentlemen, as this vision of loveliness
steps aboard the machine!"
Marle: "Don't go away. I'll be right back!"
Taban: "You're sure about this...? There's still time to change your
mind!"
Marle: "No way! Throw the switch!"
Taban: "Okay, everyone, let's give her a great big hand when she
reappears! All systems on!"
Lucca: "Begin energy transfer!"
Marle: "What's happening? My pendant...it's..."
Lucca: "Huh?
[Marle's pendant reacts with the machine and she disappears into some
kind of time warp, disappearing before everyone's eyes.]
Taban: "Lucca! Where is she?! Show's over, folks! Let's head along
now!"
[The spectators leave.]
Taban: "What's going on Lucca? WHERE IS SHE?"
Lucca: "The way she disappeared... It couldn't have been the Telepod!
The warp field seems to be affected by her pendant..."
Taban: "What are we going to do now?"
Lucca: "She's so familiar! I KNOW I've seen her somewhere..."
[Crono picks up the pendant on the left pod.]
Lucca: "Crono!"
Taban: "You're actually going to do it?! What a fine lad!"
Lucca: "Listen! I don't know where this machine is going to send you,
but we haven't any other choice."
Taban: "Won't they both be lost?"
Lucca: "This is our only hope! That pendant seems to be the key, so
hang on to it Crono, and brace yourself!"
Taban: "All systems on!"
Lucca: "Begin energy transfer! Power to full!"
Taban: "Roger!"
Lucca: "More! Give me more power!"
Taban: "Roger!"
Lucca: "There! We did it!"
[Crono gets sucked into the warp, but not before Lucca says--]
Lucca: "I'll follow you after I know what went wrong. Good luck,
Crono!"
[Crono disappears.]

[Crono lands in Truce Canyon after the time warp and heads to the large
castle nearby via Guardia Forest. He's immediately accosted by guards.]
Soldier: "Halt! Who goes there! Check out that hair! Where're you
from, son? Are you one of Magus's troopers?"
Soldier 2: "Hardly! That kid never would have made the cut! Show us
your stamp collection, son! Har, har! Now beat it, shrimp!"
Voice: "Stop that at once!"
Soldier: "Queen Leene!"
[The queen appears.]
Queen: "Show your manners! This is a friend of mine!"
Soldier: "But there's something odd about him!"
Queen: "You refuse to obey my orders?!"
Soldier: "Forgive me, my lady! Please enter, Sir!"
Queen: "Giggle..."
[Crono runs to the queen's chambers, blocked by a guard.]
Guard: "The Queen awaits."
[Crono enters.]
Queen: "Ah! There you are. Please leave us. I need to talk to this
individual."
Attendants: "Certainly, your Highness."
[The attendants leave.]
Queen: "Come nearer, Sir. Giggle... Fooled you, didn't I, Crono? It's
me! But everyone calls me, Leene! I'm so relieved you're here!
We barely know each other, but somehow, I knew you'd come for
me... Thank you, Crono! S, something's wrong!!!"
[Crono looks around.]
Marle: "W, what's happening?! It feels like...I'm being torn apart!
Help me, Crono! I'm scared!!! Please...Crono...h, help me!"
[Marle disappears and Crono heads downstairs. Just then--]
Voice: "Crono!"
[Lucca appears.]
Lucca: "Huff, puff...you're okay! Did you find the girl? GONE?!
Whaddaya mean she's gone?! Hmm...it's just as I thought. I knew
I recognized her! And this looks identical to the castle in OUR
time! I'll bet they mistook that girl for her ancestor... You
see, she's a member of the royal family in OUR time! She's
Princess Nadia! Marle, that is, Princess Nadia, is a descendant
of Queen Leene! Queen Leene has been kidnapped. As I recall,
someone was supposed to have saved her. But history has been
changed! Marle looks so much like Leene, that they probably
called off their search when she appeared here. But if the real
Queen is killed... ...Marle will simply disappear. There might
still be time! If we can save Leene, history as we know it
should remain unchanged! Something must have happened to the
Queen in this era. As a result, Princess Nadia ceases to exist!
Hurry! We have to find the real Queen!"
[Lucca joins up, and they head to the closest place to begin their
search...]

[Lucca and Crono search the cathedral and find something shining on
the ground towards the front.]
Lucca: "What did you find? A hair pin. That's Guardia's royal crest!"
[The nuns change into Naga-Ettes and attack, but get repelled.]
Lucca: "Phew! That was close!"
[Another Naga-Ette appears behind Lucca and pushes her down.]
Lucca: "Aack!"
[A frog-man descends and cuts it down.]
Man: "Lower thine guard and thou'rt allowing the enemy in. Thou'rt
here to save the Queen? The lair is deep within. Will thee
accompany me?"
Lucca: "A...a FROG!? Crono, it's a talking frog! I hate frogs!"
Man: "My guise doth not incur thy trust... Very well, do as thee
please. But I shall save the Queen."
Lucca: "W, wait! You don't seem like a bad... ...uh, person-frog-
-thing... I mean... Crono! What should we do?"
R1 --> Go with the frog.
R2 --> Refuse.
R1: [See below.]
R2: "It might be risky going alone..." [She re-asks question]
[After choosing to accompany the frog-man:]
Lucca: "I'll just have to handle it! I mean...deal with...him! What's
your name?"
[Default name for him is 'Frog.']
Frog: "Frog will do."
Lucca: "All right... Nice to meet you Frog."
Frog: "Mayhap a hidden door lurks nigh? Let us search the environs."
[Crono goes to the organ. Playing it opens a hidden door. The party
progresses until a voice yells:]
Voice: "Stop! Intruders! Gack!!!"
[Some monsters gang up on the party, but the party fights past them.
At the end of the dungeon is a well-lit room. The three stumble upon
someone talking to the Queen.]
Voice: "Prepare yourself, Queen Leene."
Leene: "Frog!"
Frog: "Majesty, stand back and allow us the honor!"
Leene: "Be careful!"
Chancellor: "Gyah, ha, ha... It's useless to fight! No one will leave
here alive! Stupid frog! It's time you jumped off this
mortal coil! True-form...CHANGE!"
[The fake Chancellor morphs into Yakra.]
Narrative: Reverts to Yakra!!
[The party reverts Yakra to dust.]
Leene: "You came to rescue me! Thank you Frog."
Frog: "The King awaits. Let us return to the castle. I thank thee
Crono, and Lucca."
Leene: "Yes, thank you so much. Please join us. Let's return to the
castle!"
[If you didn't open the left chest:]
Real Chancellor: "W, wait!! What about me?"
[He'll run after them.]

[The newly-found Queen and her rescuers stand before the king.]
King Guardia: "You had me worried, Leene."
Chancellor: "That no good Yakra! Impersonating me and kidnapping the
Queen! We MUST create a criminal justice system in this
kingdom to do away with such fiends."
Frog: "I failed to protect Queen Leene. I hath disgraced thee."
Leene: "Frog!"
[Frog bows and leaves. Crono and Lucca chase after him.]
Frog: "'Twas a fault of mine, which endangered the Queen. I shall
depart for good. Crono, you hath potential to be a good
swordsman!"
[Frog leaves the castle.]
Lucca: "... Froggy, you weren't such a bad guy either."
[After Frog exits, Lucca and Crono rush up to the queen's bedchambers.
Marle reappears.]
Marle: "Huh? What happened?"
Lucca: "Princess Nadia!"
Marle: "Crono! It was awful... I can't recall it all... I was somewhere
cold, dark...and lonely. Is that what it's like to...die?"
Lucca: "Welcome back, Princess Nadia!"
Marle: "You risked your life to help me, too?! 'Princess...Nadia...?!'
Uh oh... I guess you guys figured it out, huh? Sorry, Crono. I
didn't mean to decieve you. I'm Princess Nadia. My father's King
Guardia the XXXIII. I really enjoyed being with you at the fair.
But if you had known my identity... Crono, you wouldn't have
shown me around the fair, right?
R1 --> Right.
R2 --> Wrong!
R1: "See? I like Marle better than 'Princess,' anyway! The real
Queen's safe, right? So let's go home, Crono!"
R2: "Oh, Crono! That's why I like you! The real Queen's safe,
right? So let's go home, Crono!"

[Lucca takes out an object and a warp gate opens.]
Marle: "Wow! Lucca! You're amazing!"
Lucca: "Ain't it the truth! Oh, um...I mean..."
Marle: "Enough with the false modesty! You have a real gift! I would
trade my royal ancestry for your genius in a heartbeat!"
Lucca: "Well, if you say so... Anyway, I call this thing a 'Gate'.
It's a kind of portal, that takes you to the same location in a
different era. Gates are very unstable, so I used the principle
behind my Telepod device... ...to create a 'Gate Key'. Now we
can use them as we please."
Marle: "But why did this Gate suddenly appear?"
Lucca: "Either the Telepod had something to do with it, or...something
else made it."
Marle: "This is getting pretty weird. Let's at least head back to our
own time!"
Lucca: "All right! Coming, Crono?"
[They all jump in the gate and arrive back at the fair.]

Lucca: "Sorry for putting you through all that, Marle."
Marle: "Are you joking? That's the most fun I've had in months! And I
have some new friends, too!"
Lucca: "Crono, be a gentleman and take her home. I've got some work to
do."
[Lucca splits.]
Marle: "See you soon, Lucca! Will you escort me home, Crono?"

[The party walks into the castle.]
Voice: "Princess Nadia!"
[The Chancellor scoots down the stairs.]
Chancellor: "Are you all right? Where have you been?! I heard you were
abducted! We had soldiers searching for you! Scoundrel!
You're the one, huh? Kidnapping Princess Nadia!"
Marle: "No! Crono's..."
Chancellor: "Admit it! You confused her and tried to take over the
throne! Terrorist!!"
Marle: "S, stop it!"
[Soldiers flood into the room.]
Marle: "Stop this at once!!"
[The soldiers kneel obediantly.]
Chancellor: "What are you doing!"
Soldier: "But Princess Nadia said to..."
Chancellor: "Idiots! Detain him!!"
[They clobber Crono and knock him out.]
Marle: "Crono!!"
[Later on, a court session is set.]
Chancellor: "I'm the Chancellor, the prosecutor!"
Pierre: "I'm the lawyer, Pierre."
Chancellor: "Members of the court. We now bring forth the defendant,
Crono, who is charged with abducting Princess Nadia."
[Crono is brought in.]
Chancellor: "What shall we do with him? Fire, perhaps? Hang him upside
down for a few years? Or...shall we employ the guillotine?
You, the jury, shall decide his fate. Now, let us begin."
Judge: "Crono, you are hereby ordered to tell the truth!"
Pierre: "Crono is charged with 'Premeditated Abduction of Royalty'.
The question is, did he kidnap Princess Nadia? The answer? No,
he did not. In fact, no 'abduction' took place! The two met
completely by accident. In fact, the Princess ASKED Crono if
SHE could join HIM!"
Chancellor: "Is this true? Who actually started this whole mess?"
R1 --> I did.
R2 --> Marle did.
R1: "Just as I suspected! The defendant deliberately tried
to get near the Princess!"
R2: "Are you sure? We have witnesses who'll say YOU were
the one who bumped into the princess."
[The scene where the two bumped into each other at the fair is shown.]
Chancellor: "The Princess then innocently followed you to Lucca's
little sideshow. Whereupon you both disappeared! If that
wasn't criminal abduction, I don't know WHAT is! And I have
facts that throw the defendant's character into question!"
Pierre: "Objection! This can't have any relevance whatsoever to this
case!"
Judge: "Care to respond, Chancellor?"
Chancellor: "Crono's character is at the very core of this case!"
Pierre: "We have nothing to hide."
[If Crono returned the girl's cat:]
Pierre: "We have a little girl who will vouch for the character of
the defendant."
[A little girl comes in.]
Girl: "This nice man... He brought me my kitty. Thank you for being so
kind!"
[The girl leaves.]
Pierre: "How about that? Doesn't this young man deserve a medal?
Whew... Looks like they're buying it. The issue here is MOTIVE.
Was there any motive for this fine citizen to kidnap Princess
Nadia? No! There was none."
[If Crono stole the old man's lunch, the Chancellor will ask instead
of the girl/cat scene:]
Chancellor: "Have you stolen anything?"
R1 --> Well...yes.
R2 --> No! I've never been a thief.
R1: "See! He lacks morals! This should be on the record!
He's crying out for help!"
R2: "DO NOT feign ignorance! We have a witness."
[The old man comes in.]
Old Man: "Him! He ate my lunch right off the table!"
Chancellor: "Let the record show that he stole from a poor, helpless
man!"
Pierre: "The issue here is MOTIVE. Was there any motive for this fine
citizen to kidnap Princess Nadia? No! There was none."
Chancellor: "What about ransom? Crono, her fortune DID tempt you, did
it not?"
R1 --> No.
R2 --> Yes.
R1: "Are you sure? You really weren't tempted?"
R3 --> Not at all.
R4 --> Just a bit.
R2: "So, you admit it! Nothing more your honor. The
prosecution rests."
R3: "That's enough. I have no more questions."

"Please keep in mind that he just said he had NO
interest in her fortune. Witness please!"
[A woman comes in.]
"He can't fool me, I saw him with my own eyes!
Dear me! I'm so nervous! That man grabbed the
pendant even before he checked to see if the
Princess was okay! He tried to sell it to the

candy, the part where she called him a kidnapper
will be shown.]

Chancellor: "Nothing more your honor. The
prosecution rests."
R4: "Nothing more your honor. The prosecution rests."
Pierre: "It is evident that my client is a fine, noble young man!
Your honor, the defense rests."
Judge: "Members of the jury... If he is guilty, stand to the left. If
he is innocent, stand to the right."
[The jury walks in, saying 'Not guilty.' or 'Guilty.' If the jury is
predominantly 'innocent':]
Judge: "Order in the court! A verdict has been reached! The verdict
is...not guilty! But the fact remains that even if he did not
kidnap her, he ran off with her. 3 days in solitary confinement
as punishment."
[If the jury is predominantly 'guilty':]
Judge: "Order in the court! A verdict has been reached! We have a
majority! The verdict is...guilty! The sentence? Solitary
confinement, pending execution in 3 days!"
Chancellor: "Take him away!"
[Marle runs in.]
Marle: "Now just a darn minute..."
Chancellor: "Princess!"
[King Guardia XXXIII walks in.]
King: "That's enough, my dear!"
Marle: "But Father...!"
King: "All I asked was for you to behave like a princess. Even royalty
must obey rules. Leave the rest up to the Chancellor and forget
about the events in town. We're leaving!"
[Crono is dragged away by some bailiffs.]
Marle: "Crono!!!"

[Crono is led to a darkly-lit prison tower. They enter a room with a
man and a desk.]
Chancellor: "This terrorist has tried to overthrow our kingdom! He has
been found guilty, and you must now carry out his
sentence."
Supervisor: "So THIS is the monster who kidnapped the princess!"
Chancellor: "The execution is 3 days away. Do NOT let him out of your
sight!"

[If Crono was found innocent:]
Supervisor: "Execution?! Strange, but I don't seem to remember hearing
anything about an execution."
Chancellor: "WHAT!!! How DARE you question ME! The paperwork's probably
just been held up in the system!"
Supervisor: "Understood, Sir! Guards! Take this prisoner away!"

Supervisor: "Yes Sir! Guards! Take the prisoner away!"
[Crono wakes up behind bars after a guard knocks him out. He shakes the
door in protest. Crono does it thrice, the guard saying each time:]
Guard: "Pipe down!"
Guard: "Pipe down!"
Guard: "Knock it off! Ooh! I'll show him. Open it up!"
[The guard opens the door and knocks Crono against the wall. ]
Guard: "That's what you get for misbehaving."
[Crono railroads him with his sword, knocking him out.]
Guard 2: "Where do you think you're going?!"
[Crono breezes past the guard and runs out onto a walkway.]
Guard: "The prisoner's escaping!"
[Crono slays the guards and continues, finding another guard.]
Guard: "What are you up to?!"
[Another guard appears after Crono makes his way up.]
Guard: "The prisoner's escaping!"
[Finally, Crono makes it to the supervisor's room.]
Supervisor: "H...Help!!!"
[He tries to flee, but runs into Lucca on the stairwell, and she knocks
him out with ease.]
Lucca: "Crono! I've come to save you! Gee, it looks like you didn't
need my help, after all! Let's blow this joint!"
[The two run to the last walkway when an odd shaking is heard.]
Lucca: "What was that?"
[A Dragon Tank appears.]
Chancellor: "Forward, Dragon Tank! Crush those rebels!"
[Crono and Lucca crush it instead. Crono deals a finishing stab.]
Chancellor: "They got the Dragon Tank!! Fix it! Quickly!"
[The Chancellor and his two cohorts attempt to fix it, but the bridge
falls and they barely cling onto each other, forming a body bridge.
Crono and Lucca walk right over them.]
Chancellor: "Don't fool yourself into thinking you've gotten away with
this!"
[Crono and Lucca run downstairs
Soldier: "They're escaping!"
Lucca: "We have no choice but to break through!"
[The two run through the mobs of soldiers--]
Soldier: "They're escaping!"
[--and run to the castle door.]
Voice: "Stop!"
Soldier: "Princess Nadia!"
[Marle appears in a fancy gown.]
Marle: "This is my friend! Show him your respect!"
Soldier: "B, but..."
Marle: "Can't you take orders?"
Soldier: "Of course!"
Voice: "Hold it right there!"
[The chancellor appears.]
Chancellor: "Do as King Guardia XXXIII says!"
[The king appears.]
Marle: "Father..."
King: "Silence, Princess Nadia! The throne comes before your personal
wishes!"
Marle: "What!? Just because I have a title doesn't mean I'm not a
person!"
King: "You pick up strange ideas venturing outside!"
Marle: "I didn't 'pick up' anything! It's called 'common sense'!"
King: "Princess Nadia!"
Marle: "I despise you! I'm leaving!"
[Marle changes into her normal clothes.]
Chancellor: "Princess Nadia!"
Marle: "Come on, Crono!!"
[The three leave.]
Chancellor: "Don't just stand there! After them!"
[The soldiers give chase.]
King: "Princess Nadia..."
[The guards chase them to Guardia Forest.]
Soldier: "There they are! Don't lose 'em!!! There's no escape!"
[The soldiers block the path out, so the party runs to a dead end. A
time gate is there.]
Marle: "Looks like a dead end!"
Lucca: "A Gate!"
Marle: "Come on!"
Lucca: "But we don't know where it'll take us!"
Marle: "Who cares?! This place stinks, anyway!"
Chancellor: "Princess Nadia!"
[The chancellor and the soldiers run into the screen.]
Lucca: "This is completely irrational."
Marle: "Hurry, Crono!"
[The party jumps into the gate and vanishes into thin air.]
Chancellor: "They...disappeared!!"

[The party heads out and sees a devestated world. They head to the

Old Man: "So there ARE people who can beat up those freaky mutants..."
[The old man (addressed as Doan) talks to the party when they come by
a ladder heading below the metal structure.]
Doan: "Are you going down below?"
Marle: "Of course!"
Doan: "But no one's ever returned from there."
Lucca: "Gotta try, right?"
Doan: "...... It's nice to see such spirited people for a change.
Careful, now. And come back alive."
[The three go down and head for the stock room. An alarm triggers and
a large robotic sentinel descends.]
Enemy: "Executing program..."
Marle: "Crono! What's going on?!"
Lucca: "Marle! Let's go!"
[The party defeats the Guardian and heads into the stock room. A man
is there against the wall.]
Marle: "Phew! Something reeks!"
Lucca: "Everything's completely rotten. The refrigeration must have
failed..."
Marle: "Crono, look!! ... ... Passed away long ago, I suppose... He's
holding something. What do you suppose this is?"
[They all go over to the corpse.]
Lucca: "It looks like some kind of seed."
Marle: "A seed? Do you suppose it could grow in a place like this?"
[On the way back, the rat statue they had seen was relocated and now
moving around.]
Marle: "There! There it is!"
Lucca: "Shhh! It might run away."
Narrative: Dash with the O button, catch him with the X button!"
[Crono catches it.]
Narrative: Got it!
Rat: "Squeak!! I give up. I'll tell you everything, Squeak. Press and
hold the L1 & R1 buttons and then press X button to access the
secret passage, squeak. Don't make any mistakes or you'll be
sorry!"
[The party goes into the secret passage and finds computer monitors.]
Lucca: "So this is the info center! Good! The computer's still
operational! If we run a search on time warps, we might find
our Gate! Here! Got it! East of Arris Dome... That would be
Proto Dome, I believe."
Marle: "Leave it to Lucca! I'm beginning to think you could find
anything with this device! Say, what does this button do?"
[Something comes up on the monitor.]
Lucca: "1999 A.D.? Visual record of The Day of Lavos..."
[It shows the world in 1999 A.D. Something breaks through the crust
of the planet and rains destruction down on everything.]
Marle: "Wh, what...IS that?"
Lucca: "Lavos? Is that what's destroying our world?!"
Marle: "We must truly be in the future... No! NO WAY! I refuse to
believe it!! This... ...This can't be the way the world ends..."
Lucca: "......"
Marle: "Crono... There's only one thing we can do! We must change
history! Just like Crono did when he saved me! Okay, Lucca?
Okay, Crono?!!"
Lucca: "I...guess so... It was a stroke of luck that we were sent here
through that Gate. Crono, let's go!"
R1 --> Okay!
R2 --> No...
R1: [Skip to Marle's next line.]
R2: "...... Come on! Show Marle what you're made of!"
Marle: "Crono! Lucca! Together we can do this!"
Lucca: "Let's take a second and do some more research on Lavos'
activities back in our time period! Next stop, Proto Dome!"
[The party runs back up the ladder they used to descend.]
Doan: "You're back! Well? What did you discover?"
Marle: "This is...our future!"
Doan: "???"
Man: "Who cares, where's the food?!"
Marle: "This is all we could get..."
Doan: "Seeds...?"
Lucca: "You don't know how long the Enertron'll hold out. Those seeds
might be your only hope."
Marle: "You have to stay alive! And so do we!"
Doan: "Huh... You're strange... You're different from us..."
Marle: "I think it's because we're healthy!"
Doan: "Heal-thy? Got a nice ring to it! We'll try growing the seeds..."
Kid: "What're those?"
Doan: "They just might be our future... Heading for Proto Dome? Go by
way of Laboratory 32, and take this with ya." [Obtain: Bike Key]
"It's a key to the Jet Bike in Lab 32. I used to ride it when I
was young. Hope it still works... They've got more powerful
robots over there. Take care, and stay...healthy!"
[The party leaves Doan's group and heads to the laboratory nearby.]

The Man: "Like, thanks for the intro, babe!"
Robots: "...the MAN!"
The Man: "You lowlifes can call me Johnny. Now listen up. Part of an
old highway leads through these ruins. Think you can beat me
in a bike race? Use that 'Jet Bike' and...don't chicken out,
babe! ... Do you know how to ride?"
R1 --> Yes.
R2 --> No.
R1: [Nothing is said.]
R2: "All right, listen up. The gas is on auto, so there's only
one speed...FAST! Use the controller to steer. Press the O
button for a Turbo Boost. I'll give you 3 of them, but it
takes a moment to recharge between boosts! Check your
position at the bottom of the screen. Now show me what you
got, babe!"
[Crono finishes the bike race in the lead.]
Johnny: "YOU beat me? I don't get it! You can challenge me anytime.
We'll ride like the wind, babe!"
[Putting the highway ruins behind them, everyone heads to Proto Dome.]

screwdriver and beams.]
Lucca: "It's in bad shape... ...but it appears to be a humanoid robot!
Incredible! ... I think I can fix it."
Marle: "What?! It might attack us!"
Lucca: "I'll make sure it won't. Machines aren't capable of evil...
...Humans make them that way."
Marle: "Lucca, you...pity them don't you?"
Lucca: "Let me get to work now, okay?"
[Lucca fixes the robot up after awhile.]
Marle: "The door won't budge."
Lucca: "Right, that does it! I'm going to give it some juice!"
[The robot clamors to life.]
Robot: "......"
Marle: "Good morning!"
Robot: "Mo......Good morning, mistress. What is your command?"
Marle: "I'm not your 'mistress'. I'm Marle! ...and this is Crono...
...and Lucca, here, fixed you!"
Robot: "Understood. Madam Lucca fixed me."
Lucca: "Just Lucca will do."
Robot: "Impossible. That would be rude."
Lucca: "Look, I hate formal titles! Don't you, Marle?"
Marle: "Hate 'em!"
Robot: "I understand, Lucca."
Lucca: "All right! Now what's your name?"
Robot: "Name? Ah, my serial number. It is R-66Y."
Lucca: "R-66Y? Cool!"
Marle: "No! That won't do at all! Come on Crono, let's give him a
better name!"
[The robot's default name is...Robo.]
Marle: "Robo... Robo...that's perfect! Your new name is Robo, okay?"
Robot: "I am...Robo. Data storage complete."
Lucca: "Hey Robo, why aren't there any people here?"
Robo: "......What...What has happened here? There WERE many humans and
others of my kind in this dome."
Lucca: "I think something awful happened here..."
Robo: "......It would appear so... But how is it that you survived?"
Lucca: "We came through a time warp from the year 1000."
Marle: "While exploring Arris Dome we learned there was a Gate here."
Lucca: "We found you when we came looking for the Gate!"
Marle: "But the door to the inner chambers is locked, so we're out of
luck..."
[Robo inspects the door.]
Robo: "The power is off. If we go to the factory up north, I can pass
through security and activate this dome's generator."
Marle: "You'd do that for us?"
Robo: "Your repaired me. Now it's my turn to help you. But the
generator won't run for long, so someone must stay behind to
open the door while the power's on."
Lucca: "Then Marle or I will stay."
Narrative: "Who will stay behind?"
R1 --> Marle
R2 --> Lucca
R1 (Marle): "Okay. Please be careful, Crono!"
R2 (Lucca): "Right! I'll handle things here!"
[With their new robot friend with, the party of three heads to the
northern factory.]

[On the third level, the party comes to another monitor.]
Computer: Door lock system "Zabie" operational. Enter password.
[The party enters the password and turns on the generator. An alarm
goes off.]
Robo: "Emergency! Security system has gone haywire! Must escape
immediately!"
[Divisions on the corridor start to close. Robo stays one from closing
on them.]
Robo: "Hurry! Now!!!"
[Everyone gets through safely. On the way back, the party encounters
several blue robots being deployed, all who look like Robo.]
Robo: "Th...these are my friends! R-64Y, R-67Y, and R-69Y! Good to see
you!"
[One of the robots punches Robo.]
Robo: "Wh, what are you doing?!"
R-64Y: "You are defective."
R-67Y: "You have been tainted."

[The robots start to beat up Robo.]

Robo: "Please stop. Pl...ease..."
[They shove the broken Robo into a compartment.]
[1] Lucca: "Robo!"
[2] Marle: "Robo!"
R-64Y: "Now to take care of the intruders..."
[1] Lucca: "No! Let's take care of YOU!"
[2] Marle: "You cocky boxes of bolts! You'll never get away with this!"
[The party defeats the R-Series robots. Lucca retrieves Robo.]
[1] Lucca: "Robo! They trashed him! He's in bad shape... I'm not sure
I can fix him. Let's get him back to Proto Dome for now..."
[2] Marle: "Robo! They trashed him! Wahh...! What should we do?! Robo
just got creamed! Crono, let's take him back to Lucca!"
[Crono and his companion get Robo back to Proto Dome.]

Lucca: "Yeah. I mean, what plans do you have for the future?"
Robo: "Lucca, no one has ever asked me that before!"
[The next morning, Robo's as good as new.]
Robo: "Good morning."
Marle: "Robo! You're all right!! Lucca, you're incredible!"
Lucca: "I hope I never have to do that again..."
Robo: "Lucca, I have made up my mind. I want to go with you..."
Marle: "Pardon?"
Robo: "There is nothing left for me here. Together, maybe we can give
this planet of ours a chance."
Lucca: "Then let's go! The Gate's up ahead!!"
[In the room beyond:]
Lucca: "Hang on to your shorts!"
[The four friends jump into the Gate, this time ending up in an odd
place that doesn't look like anywhere they've been before...]

Old Man: "Why, this is 'The End of Time', of course! All lost
travelers in time wind up here! Now, where are you from?"
Lucca: "We're from Guardia Kingdom, circa 1000 A.D."
Robo: "I come from 2300 A.D..."
Old Man: "When 4 or more beings step into a time warp, the Conservation
of Time theorem states that they will turn up... ...at the
space-time coordinates of least resistance. Here. Disturbances
in the space-time continuum have increased recently. Far too
many folks are just popping in here... I fear something is
having a powerful effect on the very fabric of time..."
Lucca: "Which means one of us has to remain here."
Marle: "Stay HERE? ALONE?"
Old Man: "It is pretty bleak here... But not to worry. All time periods
connect here... You can visit your friends whenever you wish!
But you can never travel in groups greater than 3..."
Robo: "So, one of us must stay."
Lucca: "Who'll it be, Crono?"
[Crono chooses who'll stay behind. S/he will say:]
[1] Robo: "Please come for me whenever you need me."
[2] Marle: "See you around."
[3] Lucca: "Now don't you go getting any ideas, mister!"
Old Man: "...So there you have it. Don't forget. Press the [] button
to switch party members."
Marle: "How do we get back to our own time?"
Old Man: "You see those lovely pillars of light? Those hook you up to
different eras. Once you've been through a Gate, you can
always use it to come here. To use a Gate from here, step
into the light and press the X button. But beware the Gate
which leads from that bucket..."
[The party starts to leave.]
Old Man: "Hey. Don't be in such a rush! Before you go, take a peek
inside that room behind me!"
[They go into the room and find a creature.]
Creature: "What're you lookin' at? I'm Spekkio. The Master of War!
I've seen all kinds of battles from here. How do I look to
you guys?"
R1 --> Strong!
R2 --> Weak!
R1: "I see. Let's put it this way. If you're strong, I look
strong. If you're weak, I look weak. You are strong of
will...! That's why the Old One let you through. Long
before you were born... ...there was a kingdom where
magic flourished. Everyone there could use it! But in
time, people began to abuse their powers. It got so bad
that no one was allowed to use magic except wizards. But
you have it...determination, I mean! Magic needs power of
the heart. It needs inner strength. Magic is divided into
4 types: Lightning, Fire, Water, & Shadow."

[He looks at Crono:]
Spekkio: "You, with the punk hairdo! You're 'Lightning.'"
[If Lucca's with:]
Spekkio: "The one with goofy glasses is 'Fire.'"
[If Marle's with:]
Spekkio: "The one with the ponytail is 'Water.'
[If Robo's with:]
Spekkio: "That's the biggest toy I've ever seen... Hey, you're not
alive, are you?! You've got great strength, however, since I
can't measure your inner character, I can't give any magic to
you. But your laser weapons will suffice. They can inflict
'Shadow' type damage."
[Spekkio continues.]
Spekkio: "Not just magic, but EVERYTHING is based on the balance of
these 4 powers. Think 'MAGIC', and, starting from the door,
walk clockwise along the walls of my room 3 times. Don't lose
track, now."
[Crono's crew walks clockwise.]
Spekkio: "Very good! Ipso facto, meeny moe...MAGICO! So! Fortified
with magic! Wanna try it out?"

R1: "All right!" [They fight Spekkio.]
R2: "You guys are too much! Bring newcomes to meet me!"
[They leave Spekkio's room.]
Old Man: "Hey. Well, well! People who lived long ago ALL enjoyed such
powers... Now, I know you are itching to go ripping back and
forth through time, but first you need to return to your era.
And you must hurry. The longer you remain here, the harder it
will be to change that which must be changed... Stop by
whenever you're in the area!"
[The party jumps back into the warp that takes them back to 1000 A.D.,
sending them to Medina Village.]

Imp 2: "There's an odd man who lives near the cave in the mountains
to the west. You might enjoy a chat with him."
[1] Robo: "Thank you for your help. But why are you being so kind? The
Mystics supposedly despised humans."
[2] Marle: "Thanks! Why are you being so nice? Mystics aren't supposed
to get along with humans."
[3] Lucca: "Thanks a lot! Say. We were told that Mystics hate humans.
Why are you being so kind?"
Imp: "Humans fought the Mystics over 400 years ago. My motto is
'forgive and forget,' but not many seem to agree with me."
[The party heads west to the odd man's house (Melchoir's Hut).]
Melchoir: "Ah, hello! Could I interest you in a weapon?"
R1 --> Yes, I'd like to buy one.
R2 --> No, I'm not interested.
R1: [Weapon inventory is shown. After browsing/buying:]
"Weapons... If there weren't evil in this world, there
would be no need for weapons. What a sad state of
affairs..."
R2: "Really? Well, you know where to find me should the need
arise."
[The party starts to leave.]
Melchoir: "Should you desire to return to Truce Village, use the
shortcut through the in the mountains to the north.
[North is the Heckran Cave.]

Heckran: "If only the great Magus who brought forth Lavos 400 years
ago had destroyed the human race! The world would've belonged

[The party helps out and goes to Guardia Castle.]
Soldier: "Halt! Who goes there! Oh, it's you again."
[With free passage, Crono goes to find the chef in the kitchen.]
Chef: "What? My brother?! He's... That's what you get for thinkin'
that you're the only ones fighting for your country!"
Maid: "Hey! Stop bickering! Grow up!"
Chef: "... Pipe down! What do you know?!"
[As the party starts to leave, someone calls out.]
Voice: "Wait!"
[The chef runs after them.]
Chef: "... Take this with you!" [Obtain: Jerky] "And, this is for you
guys. Take it, will ya." [Obtain: Power Tab] "And tell that
fool... He had better come back alive!"
[Crono and company return to Zenan Bridge with the Jerky.]
Knight Captain: "Sir Crono! Is that for us?"
R1 --> Yes.
R2 --> No.
R1: "Food rations! The cook...he has saved us all! Sir
Crono, if I do not make it back... ...give my
brother my thanks..."
R2: "Magus's army has the advantage now. Keep back!"
[An odd noise comes from further down the bridge (after R1):]
Knight Captain: "WHAT is going on here?!"
[A soldier retreats back.]
Soldier: "Magus's troops have launched an attack! They're breaking
through our defenses!!!"
Knight Captain: "Stop sniveling! It shames the Knights of the Square
Table! We shall DESTROY Magus's troops and bring honor
to our King!"
Soldier: "But, we are far outnumbered!"
Knight Captain: "This is our last line of defense. We must let no one
through!"
Soldier: "Understood!"
[Crono heads west down the bridge and sees the soldiers massacred by
some skeletons. A big, green Mystic walks down to them.]
Ozzie: "I'm Ozzie, Magus's top general! Those who defy Magus have to
answer to me! Yes my children... Give 'em a taste of doom!"
[The skeletons get killed and Ozzie's in everyone's sights.]
Ozzie: "Those wimps're stronger than I thought."
[Ozzie flees.]
[1] Robo: "We've got him."
[2] Marle: "Wait up, already!"
[3] Lucca: "He's pretty swift when it comes to running away."
[They meet him at the bridge's midsection.]
Ozzie: "Seems like I misjudged you. But I won't do that twice! Grrrr!
You're through!"
[He sics some skeletons on them, but they don't make a dent.]
Ozzie: "Drat!"
[They chase Ozzie to the south end of the bridge.]
Ozzie: "That's IT! Now you're finished!"
[1] Robo: "You cannot win. You had best surrender."
[2] Marle: "Don't mess with Crono, or you'll really be sorry!"
[3] Lucca: "Poor sport, huh?"
[Ozzie makes a bunch of skeletons band together and form Zombone.]
Ozzie: "Go Zombor! Crush Sir Magus's enemies!"
[The party defeats Zombor and heads to enlist Frog.]

'Tis nary a thing I canst do... Please be on thy way."
[The party heads to the Denadoro Mountains and barely misses running
into a kid running back.]
Voice: "Aaagh!"
[A goblin meant for the boy attacks the party.]
Boy: "Th, this is a terrible place! Y, you'd best run away while you
can!"
[In the back of a cavern, the party finds a sword. A kid walking
around yells at them.]
Kid: "Stop! Are you here for the Masamune?"
R1 --> Yes.
R2 --> No.
R1: "Thought so... Wait a second, okay? Oh big broooother...
Where are you, Masa?!"
R2: "You're not? Then you should leave quickly."
[Masa, another boy, appears from behind/in the sword (on R1).]
Masa: "What is it, Mune? Not again!? So! You want to get a name for
yourself by grabbing the Masamune? What a buffoon!"
Mune: "Humans are so...silly! It's how you USE the sword that's
important...not who owns it!"
Masa: "You can't even understand something as simple as that. That's
why you're human."
Mune: "What should we do?"
Masa: "The usual...test them. You can entertain us for awhile."
Mune: "All right! Here we go!!! Whoosh!"
[The two kids change forms and attack. One of them gets defeated.]
Mune: "Hey they're pretty though."
Masa: "Only Cyrus made it this far."
Mune: "What should we do?"
Masa: "This time it's for real!"
Mune: "All right, this is it..."
Masa: "Yeah. We mean business!"
Narrative: With Masa's bravery and... ...Mune's knowledge! Two become
one!!
[They change into a big, muscle monster but get defeated again.]
Mune: "They beat us, big brother..."
Masa: "That was fun!"
Mune: "Will they fix us? Will they find us an owner?"
Masa: "Yeah, it'll be all right."
[The two kids walk into the sword, and Crono gets the Masamune's hilt-
-less blade.]
[1] Robo: "So! The Masamune is not just a myth... But it has been long
broken."
[2] Lucca: "So this is the Masamune... But it looks like it has been
broken for ages."
Narrative: You got the broken Masamune!
Masa: "Allow me! We'll ride the wind to the base of the mountain!"
Mune: "Good luck to you."
[The wind current takes the party back to the mountain base, and they
head back to the house of the kid who fled the mountain.]
Tata: "I...I'm sorry everyone. Some frog guy dropped this in a cafe. I
thought I'd sell it, but then everyone started calling me a
'Hero.' I couldn't bear to get rid of it! I just can't fake it
any longer. I'm no Hero...! I'm so ashamed! Here. Please take
this!"
Tata's Father: "Scoundrel! I knew this was all a sham!"
[The party leaves and heads back to Frog's House.]
Frog: "Thee hath returned? Th, the Hero Medal! Aye... Then thou hast
seen the lad. Yet there's nary a thing I canst do against Magus.
The legendary Masamune is required to fight Magus. And I've no
right to wield it. Please leave now..."
[The party sees a shiny piece of metal in basket. They fish it out. If
Lucca and Robo are with:]
Lucca: "A broken sword... It's part of the Masamune!"
Robo: "Something is written in archaic script. I will translate...

reversed it! It says 'Melchoir'!
Lucca: "'Melchoir'?! That guy in Medina Village?"

some Dreamstone, which the sword is made of."
[1] Robo: "Dreamstone...? No data in my memory banks of such a rock."
[2] Marle: "Dreamstone? Where can we get that?"
Melchoir: "You can't find it anymore. It was a red stone that was once
used as money. Unfortunately, it hasn't been available for a
very long time."
[The party finds out that Dreamstone is from a prehistoric age at the
End of Time, so they head to the Mystic Mountain Gate.]

then leads them away, while leaving everyone mystified.]

[1] Robo: "Now they're after us!"

[The party beats up the rest of the Reptites. The woman comes over.]

[A giant tricerotops-type dinosaur walks out to fight the party, but

Azala: "But remember, WE reptites will rule the world! Your days are
numbered!"
[Azala leaves the Gate Key and flees.]
[1] Robo: "I do not detect any damage."

Cyrus: "Yes, it's tiem we took back the Medal from the Frog King. And
I'd like to see that mystical sword for myself."
Guardia: "But Cyrus, the kingdom needs you! And Leene and I need you.
You must return to us!"
Cyrus: "As long as there is life in these bones, I shall return! By
your leave..."
[Cyrus leaves and meets with soldiers at the castle entrance.]
Soldier: "Sir Cyrus!!"
Soldier: "We, the Knights of the Square Table, wish you a safe
journey!"
Cyrus: "Listen well, my friends... I now entrust the safety of the
kingdom to you!"
[Cyrus walks to a man with green hair, waiting for him.]

[In a forest somewhere (Guardia Forest?), the Frog King is found.]

[Cyrus attacks quickly.]

[The Frog King throws the Badge of Courage on the ground and leaves.
The flashback turns to the Denadoro Mountains at nighttime.]

[The two are shown fighting Ozzie. Nearby, Magus stands.]

[Glenn falls of a cliff by the waterfall.]
Ozzie: "Gyah ha ha...! You spineless wimp!"
[The flashback ends and it shows Frog's abode again. While everyone
sleeps, Frog looks at the Masamune.]
Frog: "10 years hath passed... Can I do it? I've changed so much. Alas,
poor Cyrus...!"
[The next morning, Frog wakes the party up.]
Frog: "Awake'th, Crono! Though we may fail... ...let us go to Magus's
lair. Thou knowest his power?"
[*] Lucca: "Nothing can beat science!"
[*] Marle: "We won't be beaten by a bad guy!"
[*] Robo: "We must do it to save our future!"
[A third member is chosen to accompany Frog and Crono. Next stop:
Magic Cave!]

[The cave's entrance is around a bluff, but there seems to be no way
into it... Frog has a flashback where some kids are teasing him in
Guardia Forest and Cyrus runs to help him. Everyone is pretty young.]
Glenn: "Aaahhhh!"
Cyrus: "Hey you--!"
Kids: "It's Cyrus! Run for your lives!"
[The mean kids split.]
Glenn: "Sniffle...thanks, Cyrus...Hic...!"
Cyrus: "Glenn, there are times when people simply have to grit their
teeth!"
Glenn: "But...it hurts when I get hit. They..."
Cyrus: "You're a marshmallow, Glenn..."
[Years later, Glenn meets Cyrus on Zenan Bridge.]
Cyrus: "Hey Glenn... I've been thinking about becoming a Knight..."
Glenn: "I knew you were going to enlist! You'll make a great warrior!"
Cyrus: "Why don't you join, too?"
Glenn: "I...don't think I'd make the cut."
Cyrus: "But, why? You're better with a sword than I am!"
Glenn: "I don't know... I think I'd really lose it if I had to hurt
someone."
[Glenn recalls the scene where he got hit by Magus' spell.]
Glenn: "!! A...augh!!"
[After the fall, Glenn wakes up by the water....as Frog. The Hero
Medal floats down the water to him.]
Glenn: "The...Medal. ...The Hero's...Medal..."
[The flashback ends.]
Frog: "Hand'eth over the Masamune!"
[Crono sticks it in the ground.]
Frog: "Mine name is Glenn! Cyrus's hopes and dreams... And now the
Masamune... Forthwith I shall slay Magus and restore honor!"
[A video plays of Frog taking the Masamune, drawing out the power
inside of it. With a single slash from the Masamune's powerful beam,
he cuts the bluff in twain and reveals the Magic Cave's entrance. They
all rush in and, on the other side, come to an island where Magus' Lair
stands in the distance.]

[The party walks up to the dark citadel.]

Ozzie: "Welcome, Glenn! Or should I say, Sir Froggy! Mwa, ha! Say,
looks like you got some replacements for Cyrus! Magus is a tad
busy right now. You'll have to take up your business with me...
...the swordsman, Slash, and Flea, the magician... And... You'll
have to defeat all 100 of the beasts in Magus's castle...!"
[Ozzie leaves some baddies to fight the party, but they go down easy.
The party finds back to the left fork, killing undead enemies.]
Voice: "Hmmm... How did you get past my...cadaver pals?"
[A man appears.]
Frog: "It's been ages, Sir Slush!"
Slash: "That's SLASH, you slimy dolt! Still playing the comedian, eh
Glenn? You'd be singing a different tune if Cyrus hadn't been
there with you last time! You'd have fit right in with those
boney fellows you just busted up!"
[The party takes down a weaponless Slash with ease.]
Slash: "Now, let's get to business. This is going to do me a world of
good! And with no Cyrus to protect you, you're mine! You dare
oppose me?!
[Slash takes the sword off the wall and attacks, but still gets beaten
as much as a pack mule.]
Slash: "Unbelievable...! But falling in the line of duty for Magus...
...leaves me with few regrets...!"
[Slash disappears. After beating up all the baddies in the right fork,
the party arrives at the last room. A weird monster floats on the
throne.]
Frog: "The magician, Flea, I presume?"
[The party defeats 'Flea?'.]
Frog: "Wait! That isn't Flea... Where's the REAL Flea?!"
Voice: "Mwa ha... Here, over here..."
[The bat that had been following them the entire journey through the
Magic Cave changes form...into Flea.]
Flea: "Giving up, little tadpole?!"
[1] Robo: "Who is this fiend?"
[2] Lucca: "Hey! Who ARE you?!"
[3] Marle: "Who IS this person?"
Frog: "Keep your guard up! This is no ordinary woman! Meet Flea, the
magician!"
Flea: "What the...?! Hey, I'm a GUY!"
[1] Marle: "THAT is a GUY?!"
[2] Lucca: "Say what?! That's a guy?!"
[3] Robo: "But its exterior is that of a female..."
Flea: "Male...female......what's the difference? Power is beautiful,
and I've got the power! Poor little Froggie! You must lonely now
that Cyrus is gone. And to be turned into something so hideous!
Dreadful! But since you've brought your new friends over to
play... ...I'll show you all a good time!"
[The party defeats Flea no matter his gender.]
Flea: "How can this be... Sir Magus..."
[Flea disappears. At the main hall, the party finds a teleportation
device. The party runs into Ozzie down the way.]
Ozzie: "I grow tired of this! Slash!! Flea!"
Frog: "Sorry, Ozzie, but they can't help you now..."
Ozzie: "You fly eating, tongue flicking...! Oz... Ozzie's in...a jam!!"
[He runs away.]
Frog: "Thou can'st not run!"
[In the next room, guillotine blades drop onto conveyor belts.]
Ozzie: "Welcome...! Mwa, ha... How's this?"
[The party makes it through easy as pie, to the platform Ozzie's at.]
Ozzie: "Urghhhhhh... What the...? Impossible...!"
[Ozzie flees again, but they catch up to him.]
Ozzie: "Urghhhhhh... What the...?! Impossible...!"
[The party catches up to Ozzie once again after he sends enemies at
them.]
Ozzie: "What the...?! Impossible...! Urghhhhhh... Grr...This takes the
cake!"
[Ozzie is _finally_ cornered in a dead-end room.]
Ozzie: "Urghhhhhh..."
Frog: "Thy time hath cometh, Ozzie."
Ozzie: "Harharhar... I'm sure Sir Magus has already called for
reinforcements...! Wait until Lavos arrives!! I shan't be
defeated! No form of attack will break MY barrier!"
[And indeed nothing can. Someone attacks a crank nearby and a chain
starts to move.]
Ozzie: "Hahahahahaha!!"
[Another crank-chain is set off.]
Ozzie: "Watch where you're aiming! Guwa, ha, ha..."
[The third crank-chain unwinds.]
Ozzie: "Hahahahahaha!!"
[The last chain comes undone.]
Ozzie: "Mwee, hee, hee... Eh?!"
[The last spot opened on the floor is under Ozzie, and he and his
unbreakable barrier fall through the hole and crash far below.]
[1] Marle: "That was a breeze!"
[2] Lucca: "That guy was totally bent..."
[3] Robo: "What was that guy's problem? That Ozzie..."
Frog: "We must hurry to Magus's place!"
[The teleporter nearby leads to Magus' inner sanctum. The party can
hear him chanting as they enter the lightless place.]
Voice: "Neuga, ziena, zieber, zom... Now the chosen time has come...
Exchange this world for...!"
[A video of Frog, Masamune in hand, walking toward the center of the
room plays. Lights on the floor encircle Magus and illuminate him as
he is in the middle of the spell.]
Frog: "Magus!!"
Magus: "I...it's that stupid frog! Kissed any princesses lately?!"
Frog: "I rather enjoy this form. And I oweth it all to you! I have
something for you!"
Magus: "Ah...! The Masamune!!! I bet you're just dying to use it!
The black wind begins to blow... Okay...give me your best
shot... If you're prepared for the void!"
[The party defeats Magus.]
Magus: "W...what have you done to the Masamune...?"
[The ground rumbles.]
[1] Marle: "What the...?!"
[2] Lucca: "What's happening!"
[3] Robo: "It's a large-scale energy reaction!"
Frog: "Could it be...Lavos?!"
Magus: "Bad timing...! Don't wake up on me now...!"
[1] Marle: "Wake up? YOU'RE the one who CREATED him!"
[2] Lucca: "What do you mean?! Didn't you CREATE him?!"
[3] Robo: "What do you mean? According to my records, Lavos was born
here, at THIS precise moment..."
Magus: "You fools! I only 'summoned' him! He lives in the inner earth,
absorbing the land's power and growing ever stronger!"
[1] Marle: "What?!"
[2] Lucca: "So, he wasn't born in this period..."
[3] Robo: "Then my data must be incorrect..."
Frog: "What's going on?!"
[1] Lucca: "A g, Gate?! It's huge...!"
[2] Robo: "Impossible! A Gate this large should not exist!"
Magus: "You! If you hadn't shown up...!"
[1] Marle: "Th, the Gate?!"
[2] Lucca: "We're being drawn in!"
[3] Robo: "It's an enormous gravity well!"
Frog: "Whoa...!!"
[A large Gate sucks up the party and Magus and they all disappear.]

Leene's Bell could sound! Crono! We can't keep sponging off my
dad! Go out and get a job! Crono! Crono! Crono! Crono! Crono!
Crono! Crono! Crono!!"
[Everyone wakes up in Ayla's tent. Magus is not there.]
Ayla: "Crono awake?!"
[1] Marle: "Ayla!"
[2] Lucca: "Ayla?!"
[3] Robo: "Ms. Ayla! Which means we're..."
Ayla: "Ayla had strange dream. Went to Mystic Mountains. Everyone lie
there, hurt. I carry back to hut."
Frog: "Magus!"
Ayla: "Yummy frog! For Ayla eat?"
Frog: "P, perish the thought, lass! By the way, whither the blue-
-haired one?"
Ayla: "Only find you there. Blue-hair one more tasty?"
Frog: "We hath lost him..."

Kino: "What happen? Quiet! Crono rest."
Villager: "North wood burning!!!"
[Everyone heads to Laruba Village ruins.]

you! So village now ruined!"
Ayla: "...Ayla feel bad."
Old Man: "Reptites strong! They live long time before us, they smart
so we hide. But Ayla says fight together... Ayla still
fight?!"
Ayla: "Ayla fight while alive! Win and live. Lose and die. Rule of
life. No change rule. Old man breathe, but dead on inside."
Old Man: "Ayla, you strong, can make big talk. We no have power..."
Ayla: "No! Have power! We fight, gain more power! Ayla help you, but
need Dactyl. Give Dactyl."
Old Man: "Need Dactyl? Go to Tyrano Lair?! That Reptite's place.
Dangerous! Ayla want die?"
Ayla: "Want to live, so go there! Ayla be OK. Give Dactyl!"
Old Man: "...OK. Go to Dactyl's Nest and keeper will help. Careful,
Ayla!"
Ayla: "Thank you, old man!"
[Ayla heads for the Dactyl's Nest.]

comrade of Crono's is also mine. I will not allow to meet
thy demise alone."
Ayla: "No! Tyrano Lair dangerous! Maybe all perish!"
[1] Lucca: "Listen, we owe you one! Right, Crono?"
[2] Marle: "We can't let you go alone! Ayla, you saved us. Now it's
payback time! Right Crono?"
[3] Frog: "You desire to perish? I refuseth to be party to yet another
demise! Let us proceed, Crono."
Ayla: "Ayla have strong friends!"
[1] Robo: "Let us proceed to the Tyrano Lair!"
[2] Lucca: "We're all going to the Tyrano Lair!"
[3] Marle: "Ayla, let's go! Next stop, the Tyrano Lair!"
[More Dactyls come for the party. A video plays where Ayla and her
friends jump on some Dactyls and take flight. Now outfitted with the
ability to fly, the Tyrano Lair is within reach.]

[The party invades Tyrano Lair and finds a jail cell first, upon
which they free the Larukans inside. As they get to the next cell,
they see some Reptites in front of Kino.]
Jailer: "Thanks for bringing, er, being the main course! It's the
apes!!!"
[The 'apes' take down the Reptites. They see Kino through the bars.]
Kino: "Ayla!"
Ayla: "Kino get back! Ayla save you!"
[Ayla climbs over the bars and enters the locked cell.]
[1] Marle: "Wow!"
[2] Frog: "Hmmph."
[3] Lucca: "What are you doing in there?!"
[4] Robo: "That method does not appear to be rational."
Kino: "Sorry Ayla. All Kino's fault."
Ayla: "No matter. Kino escape with Laruba villagers!"
Kino: "What Ayla do?"
Ayla: "Put end to this!"
Kino: "Kino go too!"
Ayla: "Kino no come. If Ayla dead, Kino new chief of Ioka!"
Kino: "Ayla..."
[Ayla bursts out of the cell, unlocking the door the hard way.]
Ayla: "Ayla strong! No lose!"
Kino: "Kino understand. And show you something!"
[They follow Kino to the first room, and he unlocks a door for them.]
Kino: "You strong, me weak. Ayla good chief!"
[Kino runs off and leaves the party to their own devices. The party
runs into Nizbel, who tells them Azala's in the back and lets them
proceed before coming over.]
Nizbel: "Hold it. This is a special place. The great Nizbel was
defeated here!"
[The party defeats Nizbel II and continues until they get to Azala,
sitting upon a throne.]
Azala: "So...you are here at last. This is it, then. The showdown.
Today there shall be a conclusion. Will it be the Reptites, or
you silly apes who end up ruling the world?"
Ayla: "Strong survive. Ayla strong. Ayla fight!"
[Something roars from the room behind Azala.]
Azala: "Hear that lovely voice? You'll soon become the best of
friends!"
[Azala exits into that room, a path that leads to a tower...and a
gigantic pet t-rex-type dinosaur. Azala stands on its shoulder.]
Azala: "Red star... Fall!!!!! Stain the earth...RED! Though it may be
our fate to perish, we will not simply hand this world over to
you! Mwa ha ha! With this Black Tyrano I can finally exterminate
those filthy apes!"
[The party defeats Azala and his Black Tyrano.]
Azala: "No... It can't be...! Could the heavens truly have sided with
the apes? Listen, primates, and let it be known. We Reptites
fought bravely to the bitter end!"
Ayla: "Ayla understand..."
[A red light flashes.]
Ayla: "!?"
[The party looks over the side of the walkway.]
Azala: "Soon, stones of fire will rain down. Flames shall scorch the
land. The burned out plains will slowly freeze, ushering in a
long, cruel ice age. Mwa, ha ha...what a treat! You will wish
you went along with us! Mwa ha!"
Ayla: "Lavos..."
[1] Marle: "Pardon?"
[2] Lucca: "La...Lavos!?"
[3] Robo: "Lavos... Impossible!"
[Lavos is shown barreling through space until it falls into the
atmosphere of the planet.]
Ayla: "Ayla's word. 'La' mean fire. 'Vos' mean big..."
Voice: "Ayla!"
Ayla: "Kino!"
[Kino and some Dactyls fly to the party.]
Ayla: "Hurry! Lavos come soon! All ride Dactyl! Kino! Hurry!!"
[Ayla gets on, then jumps off and runs to Azala.]
Kino: "Ayla! What you do?!"
Ayla: "Come! Azala! Come!"
Azala: "Absolutely not! The powers that be have spoken."
Ayla: "..."
Kino: "Ayla! Hurry!!!"
Ayla: "Azala... ...me not forget..."
Azala: "The future..."
Ayla: "Future? What about future?"
Azala: "We...have no future..."
[The dactyls fly away as Lavos falls to earth, decimating the plateau
the Tyrano Lair was on. The party lands on a cliffside.]
[1] Robo: "So Lavos was 'born' here..."
[2] Lucca: "So Lavos arrived in this period."
[3] Marle: "So! Lavos descended in this era!"
[4] Frog: "Through no fault of Magus does Lavos live! Lavos hath fallen
from the sky in ancient times."
Ayla: "Lavos huge! Crono fight it? Crono! We go where Lavos fall!"
[1] Lucca: "We may be able to do something now! Let's go find out!"
[2] Robo: "Lavos should be weaker now. Perhaps we can put an end to
him?!"
[3] Marle: "It just arrived so there may be something we can do! Let's
go see!"
[4] Frog: "Left unscatched, it will burrow deep within the eart. Best
to defeat it now!"
[The party heads to the remnants of the Reptite cidadel, the Lair
Ruins.]

Magus's Castle was immense."
[3] Robo: "It appears that the immense energy that Lavos radiates
alters time and creates Gates."
[4] Lucca: "Now I understand! The immense energy that Lavos gives off
alters time and creates Gates."
Ayla: "What wrong, Crono? Fight Lavos! Go in here. Yes?"
[The party takes the Gate and comes out in a cave. The wind blows
violently outside.]
[*] Ayla: "Where this, Crono?!"
[*] Marle: "Boy, this is exciting!"
[*] Frog: "Wh, where art we? 'Tis strange...!"
[*] Lucca: "Well it IS the Gate nearest to Lavos. We have no idea as to where
it leads."
[*] Robo: "The Time Gyro says... What!? 12,000 years in the past?! That was
some trip!"
[Outside is a winter wonderland. Well, maybe not a wonderland. The
year: 12000 B.C. Looking for quick shelter, the party runs to the
Skyway nearby and enters. The teleportation device lifts them up into
the clouds, and they arrive at a floating city. The nearest building
is of Enhasa.]

[*] Lucca: "Hey, what's wrong? You have something to say?"
Boy: "...... The black wind howls... One among you... ...will shortly
perish."

[*] Frog: "Urchin! Halt!"
[*] Lucca: "H, hey! Explain yourself!"
[*] Robo: "Is, is it true? What are the percentages?"
[*] Marle: "What?! And out of the blue, like that?"
[The boy leaves without another word.]
[*] Robo: "Why did he say such a thing?"
[*] Marle: "Crono... This is kinda creepy."
[*] Ayla: "Strange one... But not bad boy."
[*] Lucca: "It's only a bad joke. It's unscientific."
[*] Frog: "I knoweth not what this portends. What an unpleasant lad."
[Shaken, the party leaves and takes the land-bridge teleportation
system to heads to Zeal Palace, tallest structure in the land.]

[At the Palace, the party eavesdrops on the kid who said someone would
perish shortly. A woman is with him.]

Schala: "Oh, you're back Janus! Is something wrong?"
Janus: "The black wind..."
Schala: "You feel it too? Don't worry, it'll be alright. Now, hold
onto this."
Janus: "What is it?"
Schala: "It's a kind of amulet. If something should happen, it'll
protect you. I wish I could be with you always... But mother
has other plans."
Janus: "She's NOT our mother! She looks like mother, but inside she has
changed."
Schala: "...... Still I can't... Janus, I'm sorry."
[Someone calls from the hall.]
Voice: "Excuse me, Highness."
[An attendant walks in.]
Attendant: "The Queen asks for your immediate presence at the Ocean
Palace."
Schala: "All right. Well, Janus... I'll be going."
[Schala sees Crono's party in the doorway.]
Schala: "Oh! Who might you be?"
Attendant: "Miss Schala, please hurry! If you're late, I'll be
punished!"
Schala: "Oh yes, I'm sorry."
[Schala leaves. The party follows her to the main hallway, in which
she uses her pendant to unlock a door. She passes through and the door
closes again. Crono tries Marle's pendant.]
[*] Ayla: "Strange. How come?"
[*] Robo: "This door has a strong defense mechanism."
[*] Lucca: "Hmm... There's something to this pendant."
[*] Marle: "Hmm... Just as we thought, it won't budge."
[*] Frog: "'Tis a mere DOOR that keeps us bound, hand, foot, and...tongue!"
[The party gains access to the door after using the Mammon Machine to
power up the pendant.]
[*] Marle: "Yea, we did it!"
[*] Ayla: "Ayla go! No fear, Crono!"
[*] Frog: "What doth challenge us now?"
[*] Robo: "There is no doubt. Marle's pendant is made of the 'Guru's Rock'."
[*] Lucca: "Heh, heh... Even a door of this caliber can't keep science at bay!"
[The party enters the throne room. The queen, Schala, Dalton (who you could
identify if you visited the Blackbird already), and a robed man are there.]
Queen: "Who are you!? How did you get in here?"
Prophet: "Your majesty... They are the evildoers I warned you of."
Queen: "How DARE you think you could oppose me, you...foreigners! You're worse
than the Gurus! Fools! Dalton, take them away!"
Dalton: "Yes ma'am! By your leave... Golem!"
[A Golem appears to fight the party. If you win:]
Dalton: "My poor Golem! That was inexcusable!"
[Dalton puts them in a forcefield that weakens them. If you lose, you'll be
passed out and the Queen will say anyway:]
Queen: "Mwa, ha, ha... Fear not! You won't die...immediately, that is! But by
the time we're through with you, you'll be begging us to end your
suffering. What a delicious diversion!"

Schala: "Don't worry about me. They just might be able to rescue the Gurus."
[She frees the party.]
Schala: "Are you all right? Quickly, escape from the palace! And if you can,
please rescue Melchoir! He was sent to the Mountain of Woe for opposing
the Queen. Please! You have to help him!"
Voice: "I'm afraid I can't allow that..."
[The Prophet enters.]
Prophet: "Your meddling tires me. You'll...just have to disappear!"
Schala: "You mustn't!"
Prophet: "......!"
Janus: "Stop!"
Prophet: "Okay...I'll spare them. But in turn, you WILL cooperate, Schala! Now,
show me how you came here."
[They show the prophet the warp gate down by the first Skyway.]
Prophet: "Hmm...so you came in through here. Now Schala! After I throw them in,
I want you to seal the portal shut."
Schala: "N, no! You can't make me!"
Prophet: "Obey me! Their lives are at stake!"
Schala: "I...oh, all right..."
[The party goes into the warp gate and Schala seals it. The prophet leaves.]

opens, correct?"

opens, somewhere else...
[A place yet unvisited in 2300 A.D. is shown. A man and a Nu are in a lab near
a strange door with 'the crest'.]
Narrative: A curious crest is engraved here. Some unknown power keeps it
sealed.

Underling: "B...but it's true, ribbit..."
Boss: "Someone's coming! Let's scram, grribbit!"
[A ladder is nearby.]
[*] Ayla: "Bad place! Much danger."
[*] Marle: "This is a tad on the spooky side..."
[*] Lucca: "This is an eerie place. I've got a bad feeling about this..."
[The party finds the two frogs again later.]
Underling: "Press the switch, and the bridge opens, ribbit!"
Boss: "So, switch on, gribbit!"
Underling: "Riiiiiiiiibit! It's out of reach, ribbit!"
Boss: "And you call yourself a frog, ribbit, GRIBBIT! Someone's coming! Let's
scram, grribbit!"
[After the frogs leave, the party comes upon the guard from the entrance and
an ugly centipede-thing with a stinger.]
Guard: "The 3 of them are almost here!"
Sir Krawlie: "Coming through the sewer like they own it! They must have a
death wish! we shall teach them a lesson!"
Guard: "Let's show 'em. HEE HEE!"
Sir Krawlie: "Just let them come through here! They'll be chopped liver!
Hahahahahaha!"
Guard: "Heeheeheeheehee!"
Sir Krawlie: "Harharharhar!"
Guard: "HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

[The guard sees the party and flees.]

[The party defeats Krawlie and head out of the sewer access. The Keeper's Dome
is nearby, and that's the destination.]

threw me into this era. To my surprise, Lavos exists here, and, I
suspect, in other periods as well. Aeons ago, Lavos descended from the
heavens. Burrowing deep into the world's core, he began to consume our
planet's energy, and grow stronger."
[Another recording lies nearby.]
Voice: "Lavos disappeared briefly when he was summoned away by a mighty wizard
who lived in Guardia, in the year 600. In 1999, Lavos claimed this area,
and reigns from high atop Death Peak. Lavos continues to replicate...
like a giang parasite, he is consuming our world."
[A third recording lies on the walkway.]
Voice: "Forced to live here, I continued to conduct research on Lavos. But I am
growing old. And it's impossible to keep sane in such trying times. So
before I lose it completely, I shall safeguard my data, and my ultimate
creation..."
[The fourth recording still works.]
Voice: "How I long to return home... But I have grown frail... So you...YOU,
who have opened the door! I leave things in your hands. Only by
mastering time, itself, do you stand a chance against Lavos."
[The last recording is near a door.]
Voice: "The odds will be against you... But you are true heroes. The world is
in your hands. Open, now, the last door, and take what you find there.
My last invention... My 'Wings of Time'..."
[Behind the crested door is a vehicle of some sort.]
[*] Ayla: "!! What this thing?"
[*] Frog: "This...moves through time?"
[*] Lucca: "This must be the invention Belthasar spoke of."
[*] Robo: "The Wings of Time... I believe I have heard of this device."
[*] Marle: "Wow...this is amazing... How do you tell the front from the back?"
[The party turns to leave when a thing comes through the door, pushing a lift
under the vehicle.]
Strange Creature: "Scared you, didn't I? It's me...BELTHASAR! I copied my
memory into this thing. What do you think? Anyway, there's
something I need to explain. Namely, how to transcend time!

[The party climbs in via the lift.]

takes off down a tunnel and starts to move through time. The party members

[Giga Gaia rises out of the pit to stop them, but is woe-fully defeated. ^_^
The seal on Melchoir's crystal subsides and he steps out.]

[3] Robo: "Mr. Melchoir?"
[4] Marle: "M, Melchoir?!"
[5] Frog: "Old man Melchoir!?"
Melchoir: "Indeed, I am Melchoir. Have we...met before? More importantly, can
you tell me anything about the Ocean Palace? I see...the Queen has
degenerated to that degree... The more energy the Mammon Machine
absorbs, the further the Queen degenerates. Her spirit has been
stolen by the infamous immortal, Lavos."
[The mountain shakes.]
Melchoir: "We must flee! The seal has been broken! The mountain will collapse!"
[In the nearby Algetty village (inside Terra Cave), a boy runs to the elder.]
Boy: "Elder! The Mountain of Woe is about to crumble!!"
[Some people are gathered by where the mountain is anchored in the Beast Nest.]
Boy: "Mommy, the mountain's gonna fall!"
[The mountain's chain snaps loose and it plummets into the ocean.]

Schala: "Stop degrading yourselves! We Enlightened Ones were once the same as
you. The only difference is that we are under Lavos's control..."
Janus: "What a filthy hovel."
Schala: "Melchoir... After the Mountain of Woe fell, I thought I would find
you here!"
Melchoir: "Is it safe for you to leave the palace?"
Schala: "That no longer matters! The Ocean Palace is now operational!"
Melchoir: "Then all is lost!"
Schala: "But without me, the Mammon Machina won't work. I have turned my back
on that evil device! I've kept the Skyway open. Hurry! You must stop...
my mother!"
Voice: "Why don't we keep it right there..."
[Dalton walks in.]
Schala: "Dalton!"
Dalton: "Tisk, tisk my dear. Your presence is required elsewhere!"
Melchoir: "Dalton! Leave her alone!"
Dalton: "Ah! The geezer speaks! Silence, old man!"
[He shoots a fireball at Melchoir.]
Melchoir: "Argh!"
Dalton: "You'll come to the Ocean Palace with me. Do anything funny, and
Schala's dust. Got it?"
Janus: "Schala!"
Dalton: "The Queen's children all seem to have a problem with authority, don't
they?"
[Crono's team gets ready to fight.]
Dalton: "Stay back. The life of this woman means nothing to me! Shall we get
going, Schala, dear? Your mother awaits!"
[Dalton and Schala disappear. Janus, too.]
[1] Frog: "Melchoir!"
[2] Lucca: "Melchoir!"
[2] Marle: "Mr. Melchoir!"

[Schala does as she's told.]
Queen: "Oh...what bright splendor! The incredible power of Lavos!!!"
[Schala falls to one knee, weakened.]
Schala: "Aagh..."
[The prophet starts to walk to her but stops.]
Prophet: "......"
[The scene ends. The party finds Masa on a stairway later on.]
Masa: "The ancient Red Rock has been passed down through the ages. From it, a
magic pendant and a knife were made. We embody Melchoir's dreams, sealed,
within the knife... Now hurry, if you plan to confront the Queen! We're
counting on you!"
[Another scene by the Mammon Machine plays. The room glows with many colors.]
Queen: "Ahh, I can feel it! The pulse of eternal life!!! Ha, ha, ha...!"
Schala: "D...dark...force...wild energy...! Aughhh!"
Prophet: "......!!"
Attendant: "Th, the Mammon Machine! Your majesty, it's too dangerous!"
[Queen Zeal fires electricity at the attendant.]
Schala: "Mother...!"
Queen: "Don't stop, Schala! We're almost there... Immortality will be ours!
Zeal will have the glory it deserves! Mwa, ha, ha... Too long have I
waited...!"
[The scene ends, and the party runs into Dalton down the way.]
Dalton: "You made it THIS far. Maybe I underestimated you... But this is the
end! THEY will take care of you! Come, Golem Twins!"
[The two Golems don't do impede the party any.]
Dalton: "They beat the Golem Twins? All right, this calls for the Golem Boss."
[The room glows an odd color.]
Dalton: "W, what's this strange force? Could this be...Lavos's energy?! ...
I've got a bad feeling about this... All my work would be in vain if I
expire before I'm immortal! This is your lucky day! Bye-bye!"
[Dalton teleports out. The next room houses the Mammon Machine.]
Nu: "This is the hall of the Mammon Machine... Now is the time to turn back,
nu..."
[The party runs into the room, which is still flashing odd colors.]
[*] Ayla: "Ayla come! Where strong beast?!"
[*] Marle: "Schala! We're here to save you, c'mon!!"
[*] Frog: "We shan't allow thee to meddle with Lavos, Queen!"
[*] Robo: "A gravitational pull!? I sense a dimensional warp!"
[*] Lucca: "We just made it in time! It's a pity, but I'll have to turn this
machine off!"
Schala: "You're...!"
[The Mammon Machine's electricity hits Schala.]
Schala: "Help!!"
Prophet: "Schala...!"
Queen: "What are you doing, Schala?! I need your help here!"
[*] Ayla: "Crono! Use Red Knife!!"
[*] Marle: "Crono...! The Red Knife!"
[*] Lucca: "Quickly, Crono! There's no time!"
[*] Frog: "Crono, use the old man's knife to stop the Machine!"
[*] Robo: "Use the knife from Melchoir to stop the Mammon Machine."
[Crono takes out the knife.]
Masa: "Here we go, Mune!"
Mune: "Ready, big brother!"
[The Ruby Knife hits the Mammon Machine and skewers it. It looks just like--]
[1] Frog: "T, 'tis... ...the Masamune?!"
[2] Marle: "Whoa...! It turned into the Masamune!?"
[3] Lucca: "The Machine's energy changed the knife into a sword?"
[4] Robo: "The knife used the Machine's power to become a sword?"
Queen: "Th, the Mammon Machine!?"
Prophet: "It's coming...!"
Schala: "N, no stop! That sword alone can't stop it!"
[Lavos appears and the party fights it, but loses. The prophet appears in
front of Lavos.]
Prophet: "I've waited for this..."
[The Prophet unmasks himself as...Magus!]
Magus: "I've been waiting for you, Lavos. I swore long ago...that I'd destroy
you! No matter what the price! It is time to fulfill that vow. Feel my
wrath, Lavos!!"
Voice: "What do you think you can do?"
[The voice is that of Queen Zeal.]
Queen: "Hmph! A false prophet... You'll be a snack for the great Lavos!"
Schala: "Mother, please stop! This power can only bring end in ruin!"
Queen: "Get away from here, Schala! The almighty life force of Lavos lives in
all of us... You are a part of it! You cannot change fate now! Oppose me
and I will destroy you also!"
[The Queen shoots electricity at Schala.]
Schala: "Heeelp!"
[The Queen jumps onto Lavos' carapace.]
Queen: "Come Prophet, feel the power of Lavos!"
[Magus starts to get electrocuted without end.]
Magus: "Ungh! Aaah!! My powers are being drained! Unghh... I won't...be beaten!
I survived the darkness to defeat you, Lavos! Take this, Lavos! Aaugh!!
[Magus uses his scythe to attack Lavos' beak. Light comes out and then stops.]
Magus: "Wh, what...? It doesn't work?! Aughhh!!"
[Magus gets thrown back.]
Queen: "Foolish one! Your measly power can't touch Lavos! This is from me to
you! You shall enjoy eternal life... ...as part of Lavos! Uwa, ha, ha,
ha...!"
[Lavos prepares a devestating beam attack, sucking Schala and Magus in.]
[*] Frog: "Magus! Thou art mine to defeat!"
[*] Ayla: "Stand up, Crono! Ayla no like lose!"
[*] Marle: "Can you move, Crono? Please help Schala!"
[*] Lucca: "A...are you all right? At this rate we'll all... Uooo!"
[*] Robo: "The dimensional warp is getting bigger! We cannot stay!"
[Crono runs to Lavos' front.]
Queen: "Haven't you given up yet? What do you hope to do? You challenge Lavos
with that battered body of yours? Mwa, ha, ha... See the power of Lavos
and feel his wrath!"
[A video plays where Lavos' fires a beam at Crono and stops him in his tracks
as he goes to attack, killing him. Magus looks on in anger at what's just
happened and his failure to defeat Lavos.]
[*] Robo: "Crono!"
[*] Ayla: "Crono!"
[*] Marle: "Crono!!"
[*] Lucca: "Stop, Crono!"
[*] Frog: "Desist Crono!!"
[The beam melts Crono away.]
Party Members: "Crono...?! Crono...!"
[The battle ends. Crono's party members, Schala, and Magus stand defeated.]
Magus: "I can't...beat him. Lavos...!"
[*] Ayla: "This bottom of ocean! What can do?"
[*] Marle: "Crono? Where's Crono...!? NOOOO!!!"
[*] Lucca: "Crono...! There was nothing I could do!"
[*] Robo: "The Palace is collapsing! We must escape now!"
[*] Frog: "Argh...! We must plan our escape! The Palace crumbles!"
Schala: "The last of my pendant's power will send you to safety. I know you
can't forgive her, but... ...please don't hate Mother, or our kingdom.
I'm so sorry! Now, off you go!"

[Magus and Crono's party are teleported out. Schala stands alone by the Mammon
Machine.]
Schala: "...... Crono......"
[On the world map, Lavos breaks through the crust and fires destructive beams
all over. Up in Zeal, the floating town starts to break apart and fall back to
the planet's surface, the ocean. In Algetty, a man runs into a room.]
Man: "A tidal wave!"
[On a blacked-out screen, the party yells for Crono.]
[*] Ayla: "Crono! Nooo!!! Crono!"
[*] Lucca: "Hold it, Crono! Crono...!"
[*] Frog: "N...nooooo! Crono... Crono...!"

[The two party members wake up in a fire-lit hut.]

[An eclipse takes place, plunging the summit into darkness. The party is
then transported to the moment in Ocean Palace that Crono got disintegrated.

[*] Frog: "Like stone statues. 'Tis eerie..."
[*] Robo: "It appears that time has been suspended!"
[*] Magus: "A time freeze... I never thought it possible."

all are! We're back at that instant!"
[They go over to Crono.]
Party?: "We'll just exchange the Clone for Crono."
[They do.]

[*] Frog: "'Tis an eerie place. Let us withdraw quickly."

[The party finds themselves back on Death Mountain. Crono descends down and
slumps against the tree.]

Zeal is there, in any time period.]
Queen Zeal: "Fools! Haven't you learned your lesson?! We are immortal!
We shall live forever with Lavos, who devours this planet
even as he sleeps. Within 1,400 years he will emerge to
become ruler of this world! The Black Omen is a path which
leads to Lavos. It is a shrine which provides us with
limitless power. As long as the mighty one reigns, your
dreams are hopeless!"
[The Queen summons Mega Mutant to fight the party.]
Queen: "You should sacrifice yourself to the mighty Lavos! HAAhahahaha!"
[After she disappears, the Queen is found in the depths of the Black Omen,
atop the Mammon Machine.]
Queen: "Behold, my pretties! Destiny, in its most brutal form. All the
dreams that might have been. All the happiness, and sorrow, you might
have experienced. Gone forever!!! For you there will be no tomorrow!
The Black Omen transcends time and space, waiting for Lavos to awaken!
Destiny has led you here. And here you shall rest forever, unless you
can defeat me, and smash the Omen! Come, dear friends. Perhaps I can
persuade Lavos to share his dreams with you! Did I say dreams? I meant
his eternal nightmare!"
[They defeat the Queen.]
Queen: "Argh! My powers don't seem to work here! Wait! I'll simply toss you
into the Mammon Machine! You'll be one with the Omen, Lavos...and me!"
[The party defeats the Mammon Machine, and finds the Queen at the top of the
Black Omen (I'm guessing -- the earth is visible below).]
Queen: "You cretins... I plan to live with Lavos, and control the universe
forever. You will not get in my way! Indulge in such regrets in the
next life!" [NOTE: Last sentence only said if Magus is not with.]

[If Magus is with, he will say:]
Magus: "Idiots... Nothing can live forever. Zeal... A pitiful woman, duped
by Lavos! I, myself, will bring an end to all of this!"
Queen: "Prophet! You are doomed. I haven't forgotten what you did at the
Ocean Palace. You will not forfeit your life."

[Zeal's new form gets defeated, too.]
Queen: "How dare you insects come after ME! Oh almighty Lavos, lend me your
power!"
[The water underneath the Black Omen starts to resonate.]
Queen: "Mwa, ha, ha... At last, Lavos awakens! Compared with him, you are
like germs. But, I...I shall attain immortality!"
[Zeal disappears and Lavos awakens underneath the Black Omen, which starts
to disintegrate. Lavos appears before the party, but even as he changes
his attack modes to mimic bosses throughout the game, he still gets
repelled. Finally, they kill the head.]
[1] Magus: "It's over?"
[2] Frog: "Can it be over?!"
[3] Marle: "Unbelievable...!"
[4] Robo: "We were successful!!"
[5] Lucca: "It's finally over..."
[6] Ayla: "Lavos down! Ayla No. 1!!"
[1] Frog: "Will there never be an end...?"
[2] Magus: "It ain't over yet..."
[3] Ayla: "This Lavos's shell! Inside still strong!"
[4] Marle: "But THIS couldn't have done him in...!"
[5] Lucca: "I wish it were over..."
[6] Robo: "I sense a powerful life force within Lavos."
[1] Ayla: "Ayla no give up!!"
[2] Marle: "L...let's go inside!"
[3] Lucca: "I guess we have no choice. But..."

[They head to Lavos' core.]
[*] Ayla: "Ayla not give up!!"
[*] Marle: "This...is...Lavos!"
[*] Lucca: "This is the REAL thing?!"
[*] Frog: "Cyrus, this be our finest battle..."
[*] Magus: "Finally... You have met your match, Lavos!..."
[*] Robo: "Amazing... It houses all the DNA of every creature that ever
lived...!"
[When the core is defeated, an alien-type enemy is left in its place.]
[1] Robo: "This was Lavos's goal...! Using the DNA of every organism... And
achieving the ultimate in evolution!"
[2] Marle: "It's...humanoid... It seems like it has collected all of the
vitality from the creatures who have lived on this planet."
[3] Magus: "...... So...since the dawn of time, it has slept underground,
controlling evolution on this world for its own purpose..."
[4] Frog: "This be evil! Indeed! This thing possesseth the vitality of
all living creatures... It hath harvested DNA from animals, only
to further its own evolution! And whilst sleeping, to boot! It...
it is too much to bear... We have been reared like animals...! Our
lives hath been for naught..."
[5] Lucca: "Now I understand... It lives on a planet for as longas possible,
stealing away the most vital resources... It combined the DNA it
found here with its own, and gave birth to those creatures up on
Death Peak. Eventually the young must migrate to other planets...
to repeat the cycle..."
[*] Marle: "Are you saying IT'S the reason we're all here?"
[*] Ayla: "Me no run! Ayla no run away! Worse than losing!!"
[*] Frog: "My life retain'eth its meaning...! We haveth our own will!!"
[*] Robo: "Attack value is... ...off the scale! It's shorting out my
sensors!
[*] Magus: "We were created only to be harvested. All people... ...and all
living things... ...... It's over for you... Your life ends
here!"
[*] Lucca: "Grown like farm animals, waiting to be slaughtered... All of our
history...our art and science... All to meet the needs of that...
beast..."

you! Your stay of execution has been cancelled. We must now
carry out your sentence."
[Crono appears before King Guardia XXIII.]
King: "We've been looking for you, Crono. Where did you take my daughter?"
[Marle enters.]
Marle: "Daddy, don't! Crono hasn't done a thing!"
King: "She says Crono has been a perfect gentleman, but... What do you
think, Chancellor?"
Chancellor: "Crono's deeds have had an enormous impact on the kingdom!"
Marle: "Chancellor, how could you?! Please! Just listen to me! We had to..."
King: "...save the future, right?"
Marle: "Huh??"
[Doan appears in the throne room.]
Doan: "You saved the future, and gave us hope."
[King Guardia I also appears.]
King Guardia: "You fought Magus's troops, and brought peace to the kingdom
in the year 600."
[Kino walks in, too.]
Kino: "Crono beat Reptites!"
Marle: "Wh, what's going on here?"
[Lucca walks from behind the throne (how tricky!).]
Marle: "Lucca! You brought them here, didn't you?"
King: "Our kinsmen told me all about your incredible mission."
Marle: "Kinsmen?! You mean these're MY ancestors...and descendants?"
King: "Here I was fussing about my kingdom, and my daughter, and you were
saving the past, present and future! Now, for a true victory parade!
Tonight we celebrate...you! Now Marle, go out and enjoy the last night
of the fair!"
[Marle and Crono head to the Millennial Fair. A blue imp leads a few
dancers, and the two party members walk behind them.]
Imp: "Come along with Crono, our Hero. Princess Nadia is finally home!
At last, Guardia is back to normal! It's a moonlight parade!"
[The fairgrounds and booths all light up with festive lights. Crono and
Marle end up at the north end, by Lucca's invention. The rest of the party
is there, too.]
Lucca: "Well everyone, this is it."
Frog: "Each to thine time."
Robo: "The Gate has grown weak..."
Lucca: "We've got to say our goodbyes before the Gate closes."
Marle: "You're all leaving?"
Ayla: "Crono was strong! Marle too! Ayla have fun!!"
[Marle goes over to Kino.]
Marle: "You're my distant ancestor. So you'd better have tough kids or
I'll be in trouble!"
Kino: "Heh, heh! No worry! Ayla VERY strong!"
Marle: "Right! Hey...what do you mean by that?"
Ayla: "Kino dummy! We go now!"
[She pushes Kino into the warp, and waves goodbye before leaving herself.]
Frog: "'Tis a feisty crowd! But they are thy kin, and 'tis of consequence.
Queen Leene awaits. Your Majesty, we too shall take our leave."
[King Guardia I gets into the warp. Frog turns to leave himself.]
Marle: "Mr. Frog..."
Frog: "... Long farewells ne'er were necessary."
Marle: "Right! Besides, actions speak louder than words!"
[She gives him a goodbye kiss, shocking him.]
Lucca: "Yeah. Don't these things end with the princess kissing the frog?"
[Frog gets into the warp. If Magus is with, he'll go to get in the warp.]
Marle: "So...you're going to search for Schala?"
[Magus leaves without any goodbyes.]
Robo: "Lucca, I will miss you."
Marle: "What's wrong Lucca? Aren't you going to say goodbye to Robo?"
Robo: "She knows."
Marle: "Knows...what?"
Lucca: "...... Robo was born in a bleak future. When we defeated Lavos,
we changed history. Robo...may not exist in the future."
Robo: "Ha ha. Please relax. The new future has a place for me!"
[Lucca goes over and bangs on Robo's metal hull.]
Lucca: "Darn it, Robo! Don't pretend you don't care when you're really
sad! It just makes thing worse!"
Robo: "...... Lucca, YOU have taught me to have emotions. Thank you."
Marle: "Tears don't become, you, Lucca! Robo'll be there in the new
future!"
[Doan gets into the warp.]
Robo: "Good...bye. Caution! Oil has washed over my sight sensors. Sight
diminished..."
[Robo leaves in the warp.]
Lucca: "Do you remember that talk we had?"
Marle: "You mean about whether our lives flash by before we die?"
Lucca: "Yeah. I get the feeling that the 'Entity' is finally at rest."
Marle: "Yes, I feel that too... Time travel...how exhausting!"
Lucca: "We should dismantle the Epoch. Its job is finished."
[Just then, Crono's cat runs into the north end with his Mom behind it.]
Mom: "You naughty thing, come back here! Look, Crono! Your cat's running
away because you haven't been feeding it!"
[The cat jumps into the warp.]
Mom: "Hey, come back here!"
[Crono's mom goes into the warp, and it closes.]
Marle: "Oh, great! Crono, that Gate will never open again!"
Lucca: "Well it looks like we have no choice but to go after them!"
Marle: "Go after them?! But the Gate's... Lucca, don't turn off your
brain, yet!"
Lucca: "I forgot! We have a Time Machine! Nya ha ha!"
[A soldier enters the north end.]
Soldier: "Oh, Princess, the King asks for your presence."
[The party finds the King.]
King: "I'm so happy! Now there's no reason for you to go away anymore.
I have a gift for you, to commemorate this day, Princess Nadia."
[The King returns with a big bell with balloons on it.]
King: "This is Nadia's Bell. It will ring out across the land."
[Crono and Lucca leave Marle alone. The King raises the bell up.]
King: "Marle...where did you go? Could someone please lend me a hand?"
Marle: "Daddy... I hate to say this but... I can't sit around doing
nothing!"
[Marle leaves, too. Taban enters.]
Taban: "Phew! made it just in time! Shall I fire one off?"
King: "Uh, no Taban. Actually, I could really use your help..."
[Just like the beginning, a fireworks display brings the game to a close,
as the Epoch soars over the land. Somewhere, Robo and Atropos watch the
Epoch; Kino and Ayla, too, on pterodactyls; Frog sees it on the Zenan
Bridge with Queen Nadia and the King; Magus witnesses it as well, as he
floats by a mountain somewhere. All is well, and all ends well. A video
plays of Crono and Marle's marriage as the Playstation Staff's credits
roll. Kino and Ayla marry also, and the un-Frogged Glenn walks out of
the castle in 600 A.D. Melchoir shows up at Crono and Marle's wedding,
with a bottle of wine (XD!). In the forest, Lucca finds a baby with a
familiar pendant on it, as she walks with her little version of Robo...
A scene in 1005 A.D. tells of the fall of Guardia, and that the Masamune
disappears...]

[Everyone else regains consciousness. Marle goes over to the newly-
-awakened party members. After each person speaks, they will leave
without another word to warps and wait (Magus says nothing).]
Marle: "Let's go back in time and save Crono!"
Ayla: "Kino wait for me."
Marle: "Don't you care?"
Robo: "This really is the last we'll see of each other."
Marle: "Come on!"
Frog: "'Tis necessary that I return and protect Queen Leene."
[Marle follows the four party members to the warps.]
Ayla: "Ayla go home now. Good luck all!"
[Ayla leaves and the warps to her time period disappear; same for
Magus.]
Frog: "Fare thee well!"
[Frog leaves, and his warps disappear, too.]
Robo: "Goodbye...everyone."
[Robo's warps disappear when he's left. Only the two warps to the
present time remain.]
Marle: "You're all so heartless!"
Lucca: "It's a fate we can't escape. Someday we will all pass away.
Marle......"
[They go back to their own time, and the warps disappear, leaving no
more left.]
Elder: "Hey there!"
[Gaspar still remains, alone...with the Time Egg.]
Elder: "They've all... Have they all left? I forgot to give them this.
... ...Oh well."
[Back in 1000 AD, Marle walks into the celebration parade at the
fairgrounds. It's nighttime.]
Imp: "Come on! It's the last night fo the fair! Princess Nadia is
finally home! At last, Guardia is back to normal! It's a moonlight
parade!"
[Marle walks around in the parade as the fairgrounds light up. Marle
walks to Lucca's invention after awhile, finding her friend there.]
Lucca: I thought Lavos made the Gates... But I guess I was wrong."
Marle: "What do you mean?"
Lucca: "I think a greater force wanted us to experience those events."
Marle: "Time travel...how exhausting!"
Lucca: "We should dismantle the Epoch. Its job is finished."
Marle: "I wonder how everyone is doing."
[Just then, Magus, Ayla, Frog, Robo, and Gaspar all appear in a warp.]
Ayla: "Give me 'Time Egg'!"
Gaspar: "Calm down. Rushing won't bring him back!"
Ayla: "Ok, understand. Now hurry, give!"
[Gaspar jumps back into the warp.]
Robo: "Hey! He is escaping!"
[Robo, Ayla, and Magus all follow after Gaspar.]
Marle: "What's going on, everyone?"
Frog: "That 'Time Egg' of his can bring HIM back!"
Lucca: "Bring who back? You mean Crono?"
[Frog goes to pursue Gaspar.]
Lucca: "Let's catch up with him!"
Marle: "Go after them?! But the Gate's... Lucca, don't turn off your
brain, yet!"
Lucca: "I forgot! We have a Time Machine! Nya ha ha!"
[A soldier walks into the north end.]
Soldier: "Oh, Princess, the King asks for your presence."
[They find the King in the fairground center.]
King: "I'm so happy! Now there's no reason for you to go away anymore.
I have a gift for you, to commemorate this day, Princess Nadia."
[He returns with a bell.]
King: "This is Nadia's bell. It will ring out across the land. Marle...
where did you go? Could someone please lend me a hand?"
Marle: "Daddy... I hate to say this but... I can't sit around doing
nothing!"
[Marle and Lucca leave, and the Epoch can be heard taking off. Taban
walks into the square with a big firework.]
Taban: "Phew! Made is just in time! Shall I fire one off?
King: "Uh, no Taban. Actually, I could use your help..."
[Just like the beginning, a fireworks display brings the game to a close,
as the Epoch soars over the land. Somewhere, Robo and Atropos watch the
Epoch; Kino and Ayla, too, on pterodactyls; Frog sees it on the Zenan

standing by the lone tree on Death Peak. A silhouette of Crono is

A picture of Marle and a very-much-alive Crono on Death Peak (?) seems
to point to a happy ending. 'THE END' appears beneath the picture. The
video of Crono and Marle's marriage plays, as does that of Guardia's
downfall. The rest of the credits play, the CT logo appears, and that
is all!]

King: "What ARE you babbling about? You needn't keep dressing that way!
You're just in time! We found this 400 year old wedding album in
the treasury."
[Marle hops after her father, and ribbits.]
Lucca: "Marle! No! Tell me you didn't..."
[The credits roll out like they're on a projector, and show Frog and
Leene getting married in the Cathedral. Frog kisses her all funny-

are then chased back by Ayla, who laughs (it's slapstick!). Magus is
on the North Cape with Slash and Ozzie, hangin' out. The Knight Captain
is with Leene, the king and the chancellor in 600 AD. In the Cursed
Woods, Frog walks alone. Robo runs across a blacked-out screen and
waves goodbye with a 'THE END' sign. The movie with Crono and Marle
getting married, and the one with the fall of Guardia play, then it
comes to the CT Logo. The end!]

[Marle walks into the room.]
Marle: "Let him sleep. He fought long and hard."
Lucca: "Phew...all right."
Frog: "......"
Marle: "Where're you going? We just got cozy."
Frog: "Gotta take care of some business..."
[Frog moves to the door and falls flat on his face.]
Marle: "Tee, hee..."
[The credits play a little, and show Magus' Castle. Slash is in his
room, talking to an unknown assailant:]
Slash: "Grow up...! Finaly, we've got someone who wants to die young!"
[Flea, too, encounters the intruder:]
Flea: "Harhar, this is hilarious...! So, you think YOU can take us on?"
[Frog is shown ascending to the top of the tower. Ozzie is there.]
Ozzie: "Y, you're...!!"
[Frog cuts him down and heads down the stairway to Magus' incantantion
room. Magus is indeed there, in the middle of the Lavos-calling ceremony
that would have been interrupted by Crono's party had they continued to
press on in the journey.]
Magus: "Neuga, ziena, zieber, zom... Now the chosen time has come...
Exchange this world for...! So you came... We wizards and humans
have brought about our own ruin... Except for you and I, this world
is populated by cretins... The one who wins this battle... will rule
the world... No, make that RULE THE FUTURE..."
Frog: "So that's the sotry... but who cares. But there is some merit to
fighting you! ..."
Magus: "Hmmmm... You have the Masamune... Let's see if you know how to use
it... If you're prepared for the void!"
[The credits play and, at the end, at the top of Magus' Castle, a caped
figure is seen standing on the giant dragon statue. But...is it Magus or
Frog? 'THE END' appears, the video of the Fall of Guardia plays, and the

Reptites, going to the Millennial Fair (where the Reptite in the race
is now a human!), and bumping into Reptite Marle. Azala is shown
laughing as the credits end, and 'THE END' sign falls on top of him.
The video of the fall of Guardia plays, and the CT logo appears after

Lucca: "There's the Steel Runner."
Marle: "I've never understood why anyone would want to run for 3 hours
at a stretch..."
Lucca: "Forget that! Can you imagine what the inside of that armor must
smell like?"
Marle: "What a lovely thought, Lucca. Let's get on with the show, OKAY?!"
[Steel Runner leaves and a soldier appears.]
Lucca: "Next let's visit Guardia Castle, your home."
Marle: "Goodness! VERY nice scenery!"
Lucca: "But of course, my dear!"
Marle: "I guess you never took a shot at him, right? Say, didn't he
just wink at you?"
Lucca: "RELAX, Marle!!"
[The soldier leaves; Pierre appears.]
Marle: "Hey! It's Pierre!"
Lucca: "Wouldn't want anything to do with someone like HIM. Too
shifty... He should be put on trial!"
[Pierre leaves and a homeless man from 2300 AD appears.]
Marle: "Come on, Lucca! Live it up a little! Let your hair down! Get
Crazy!!!"
Lucca: "Yeah, thanks PRINCESS. I'll take that under advisement!!"
Marle: "There's the seed. Hope it grows..."
[The homeless man dissappears; Johnny rolls in.]
Lucca: "Theeeeere's Johnny... Mr. Speed himself!"
Marle: "Someone ought to tell him to take a permanent pit stop. Look
at that hair!"
Lucca: "Hey, check it out! He's really a tricycle! Pass him!"
Marle: "Try again when you learn to RIDE."
[Cyrus appears after Johnny leaves.]
Lucca: "There's that stuffed-shirt, Cyrus!"
Marle: "He IS pretty handsome, though..."
Lucca: "But WHERE does he buy his clothes?"
Marle: "Hey, did you hear? He plucks his eyebrows!"

[Toma appears next.]
Marle: "Hi, Toma! Now HE'S definitely my type!"
Lucca: "Aw, he's just a flake."
Marle: "Probably has a dozen girlfriends."

[Kino appears after Toma.]
Marle: "What about him? That Kino guy?"
Lucca: "Total Neanderthal! Throw him a bone!"
Marle: "But he's honest. That's kind of attractive."
Lucca: "He walks like a DUCK!!"
Marle: "WEll, he'll never hurt anyone."
Lucca: "He's really very gentle, isn't he?"
[Crono appears next, arms crossed and frowning.]
Crono: "What ARE you two doing?! I thought you said something about a
nice little slide show?"
Lucca: "Crono!!!"
Marle: "So, we got a little carried away!"

Marle: "Some place fun!!"
Crono: "How about into the 'now'?!"
Lucca: "Now, as in the present?"

[She runs off after her friends. 'THE END' reappears. The wedding video

Oh great Ozzie, stand back, and let ME take care of these cretins."

Flea: "You sent for me? Well, if it isn't Sir Magus! Who'd you bribe to get

Ozzie: "I'm counting on you, Flea!"
[Ozzie falls back.]
Flea: "Get ready for a SLAPPING good time...get it?!"
[Flea gets creamed.]

[Ozzie is in the next room, waiting for them.]
Ozzie: "Howdy! You're nothing but common thieves! Anyone who tries to steal
my treasure is looking for a very CRUEL death! And away we go!"
[Ozzie twists his crank and brings up two enemies to fight the party...but the
conveyor belts the enemies land on drop them down into the darkness. Funniest
scene in the game!]
Ozzie: "Oz... Ozzie's in a pickle!!! Outta here!"
[Ozzie makes another appearance in the next room.]
Ozzie: "You STILL haven't given up? Well, how about a good thrashing! Slash!!"
[Slash appears.]
Slash: "Yooouuu rang?"
Ozzie: "Slash, don't let me down!"
[Ozzie retreats...again.]
Slash: "At first I really didn't want to slice and dice ya, but now it sounds
kind of fun! Ready?"
[The party whips Slash like he's a novice.]
Slash: "Ouch!"
[Slash also retreats. Ozzie is in the next room (XD).]
Ozzie: "Come on, sweethearts! Don't you want the treasure box? Probably filled
with goodies!"
[An imp walks in and looks at the treasure box, right behind a guillotine.]
Imp: "Found the treasure!!"
[The imp goes over and triggers the trap.]
Ozzie: "Oz... Ozzie's stumped! Outta here!"
[In the next room, the fed-up trio of baddies stands their ground.]
Ozzie: "Heh heh. Not so fast, friends. I'm not going to make it that easy for
you. Ozzie Pants!"
Flea: "Flea Vest!"
Slash: "Slasher 2!"
Ozzie: "These unique items make us INVINCIBLE!"
[The party beats the 'invincible' enemies. Ozzie is still alive.]
Ozzie: "What in the...!"
[Ozzie is in the _last_ room. No more running!]

Ozzie: "NEVER! You will NEVER defeat me!"
[A kitty comes and presses the third button on the wall, then leaves.]
Ozzie: "N...no! Not THAT switch!!"
[Barrier-less Ozzie falls into the hole and dies. The third party member
(barring Magus) will say:]

[2] Lucca: "What was he trying to do?"
[3] Marle: "He never gives up, does he?"

Villa. Inside the villa:]
Fiona: "My husband Marco is finally home! I...I'm so relieved."
Marco: "Don't worry. I'm home for good."
Fiona: "The desert monsters are draining the life out of the soil here. This
Mystic seedling could revive the forest, but I can't plant it. Too many
hungry monsters lurking about."
[The party enters the Sunken Desert and hears a rumbling.]
[1] Magus: "...?"
[2] Lucca: "Some tremor?"
[3] Frog: "What, be this?"
[4] Ayla: "Ground shaking!"
[5] Marle: "What was that?"
[6] Robo: "An unforeseen earthquake perhaps?"
[A large monster surfaces a few feet away.]
[1] Ayla: "They make forest into desert!"
[2] Magus: "Retinite... He's behind this new desert."
[3] Lucca: "The monsters are creating the desert here."
[4] Frog: "So, THEY changeth the forest into the desert!"
[5] Robo: "The monsters are causing the desertification here."
[5] Marle: "So that's the monster responsible for this desert!"
[1] Magus: "...What a pain..."
[2] Ayla: "Hard to find monster in earth!"
[3] Marle: "But how can one find a monster that roams the inner earth?"
[4] Robo: "But monsters that travel underground are impossible to find!"
[5] Lucca: "It will be hard to defeat a monster that travels underground!"
[6] Frog: "How to slayeth monsters within the earth... 'Tis a very difficult
task."
[They defeat Retinite, the monster living inside the ground.]

[2] Marle: "At least Fiona will be happy!"
[3] Ayla: "Bad bones gone. Fiona happy now."
[4] Frog: "It be settled then. Let us inform Fiona."
[5] Robo: "Now, the desertification should stop. Let us inform Fiona."
[6] Lucca: "We've neutralized the source of this desert. We should tell Fiona."
[They go back to Fiona's Villa.]
Fiona: "Thank you for routing the beasts! Unfortunately, it'll take centuries
to revive the forest. I wish I could live long enough to see my wish
come true!"
Robo: "You can come for me when the job is done. May I stay behind and help
Fiona?"

R1: [Robo is shown tilling the soil on the world map.]
R2: [Nothing is said; Robo stays.]
[Using the Epoch, they come back for Robo in 400 years and find that a forest
has sprung up where the desert once was. They head to Fiona's Shrine and find
the worn-out, rusted Robo sitting on a platform, unused. Robo comes activates
once again.]
Robo: "Systems reactivated. Wh, where am I? Ahh... _____, how nice to see you.
For you, it was a quick hop, but for me 400 long years have passed. The
effort was worth it! The forest has grown back! Now, let us celebrate our
400th year reunion."
[The team has a party in the woods that night.]
Robo: "After 400 years of experience, I have come to think that Lavos may not
be responsible for the Gates."
Marle: "What do you mean?"
Robo: "I have come to think that someone, or something wanted us to see all
this. The different events over time, that we have witnessed. It is
almost as if some entity wanted to relive its past."
Ayla: "Ayla know! When people die, elders say, see who life pass by!"
Frog: "'Tis true that mortals do relive their most profound memories before
death claimeth them. Yet those memories most often are sad ones."
Robo: "Thinking things like, 'If only I had done this,' or, 'I shouldn't have
done that...' It triggers old, unpleasant memories."
Marle: "Will that happen when our time comes?"
Lucca: "Probably...who knows?"
Marle: "Is there a point in time you'd want to return to, Lucca?"
Lucca: "No...not really..."
Marle: "I'm sorry, was that something I shouldn't have asked?"
Lucca: "It's ok, it's just something I don't like to think about too much."
Frog: "Lavos playeth an integral role in the fortunes of this Entity..."
Magus: "...So who is this Entity?"
Robo: "It is unknown, whose memories these are. It may be something beyond our
comprehension. Our journey may come to an end when we finally discover
the identity of the Entity. ...Shall we turn in for the night?"
[That night, as everyone sleeps, Lucca gets up and finds a Gate nearby. She
gets into it and is transported back...to her house.]
Lucca: "Did I make it back...to that moment?"
[She goes downstairs and sees a little version of her and her mother, about
to go by the machine.]
Lara: "What IS this thing? Taban says to keep away from it, but it's so dusty.
I'll just... Dear me! My skirt...it's...I'M STUCK! Lucca! Lucca, help!"
Young Lucca: "I can't pull it out."

[The Moon Stone is placed in the beam.]
[1] Ayla: "... No change."
[1] Magus: "Now, let us go."
[1] Lucca: "Well, back to Epoch."
[1] Marle: "Now, let's hop aboard Epoch!"
[1] Robo: "Let's return to my era in Epoch."
[1] Frog: "How long shall we leave it hither?"
[Back in 2300 AD, they arrive at the Sun Palace, but--.]
[1] Ayla: "... Gone...rock not here? But plenty dust. Someone take long time
ago."
[2] Frog: "The Moon Stone, 'tis gone! Yet it has not been taken recently. Let
us return in time."
[3] Marle: "It's not here! The Moon Stone is gone! It's been gone for ages.
Let's check out another time."
[4] Magus: "... The Moon Stone is gone. ... Seems it's been gone for 1300 years
or so. Let's get back to the present."
[5] Lucca: "It's gone!! The Moon Stone is gone! It looks like it's been gone
for ages. Let's try another time period."
[6] Robo: "It isn't here!! The Moon Stone isn't anywhere. It wasn't taken
recently, though. Let's go back in time a bit."
[The party spots the house of the Porre Mayor shining brightly in 1000 AD. They
go to pay him a little visit.]
Mayor: "Moon Stone? Never heard of it!"
[The children confess their father's greed. How to remedy it? Go back in time
and start a time-honored tradition of altruism! The party buys some expensive
Jerky at the nearby Snail Stop, then goes back to the Elder's House in 600 AD.]
Woman: "I see you have some Jerky! Will you sell it for 10,000G?"
R1 --> Yes.
R2 --> I'll give it to you.
R3 --> Not interested.
R1: "All right. Here's 10,000G!"
R2: "You're giving it away? I thought there were no kind people left
in this world! You can bet MY children are going to learn the value
of sharing!"
R3: "Oh, well..."
[After giving it to her for free, the party heads back to 1000 AD.]
Mayor: "You're interested in the Moon Stone? Well, someone simply left it here.
Seems important to you folks. Why don't you take it!"
[They go back to the Present's Sun Keep.]
Narrative: Leave the "Moon Stone"? [Y/N}
[They go the Future to pick up the shiny, shiny stone.]
[2] Ayla: "Wow! The sun! Lucca maybe use? Bring Lucca here!"
[2] Frog: "'T, 'tis amazing! What might Lucca create with it? She must see
this!"
[2] Magus: "The Sun Stone has regained its luster, but... How might we harness
its energy?"
[1] Marle: "Acck! This is amazing! Lucca can surely put this to good use!
Let's show it to her!"
[2] Robo: "My sensors read high energy levels. Lucca may be able to use this.
Let us show it to her."
[When Lucca gets into the party:]
Lucca: "This really is the Sun Stone! With this energy, I can make an
incredible weapon! Let's get back to my house quickly!"
[They go back to her house.]
Lucca: "I'll modify the Sun Stone to extract its energy... ...then, we'll just
vacuum pack it into a cartridge... ...and it's finished!" [Obtain:
WonderShot] "Sometimes I amaze myself!"
[Taban enters.]
Taban: "Take a look Lucca! I borrowed a bit of the Sun Stone to create
something nifty!" [Obtain: Sun Shades!]
