B. Dragonball History
---
Dragonball was a long-running manga (Japanese comic book) by the genius
Akira Toriyama, who is also responsible for Dr. Slump, Sandland, Dragon
Warrior, Chrono Trigger, and many, many other projects. When Dragonball
began, a young boy named Goku encountered a teenage girl named Bulma. She
was searching for magical stones called Dragon Balls, and Goku just happened
to have one. Bulma and Goku, along with lots of other friends, got into a
lot of adventures. Dragonball Z, the anime (Japanese comic) name for Goku's
adventures as an adult, are the most well-known. It begins with the Saiyan
Saga, which is strangely absent from this game. The Saiyan Saga told how
Goku was actually Kakarot, an alien from the planet Vegeta that was sent to
destroy Earth as a baby. However, a conk on the head gave Kakarot amnesia,
and he forgot all about his mission, becoming the most pure-hearted person
in the world, if not universe. Now, I will explain the stories of the Sagas
that have been used in the game:

Frieza Saga (Split into Ginyu and Frieza Sagas in America)
-----------
As Goku recooperated from his battle with Prince Vegeta, Mr. Popo told Bulma
how there was a spaceship that would take her to Namek, the planet
Kami/Piccolo was from. So, along with Krillin and Gohan, she took off to
find the original set of Dragon Balls, so they could wish back everyone who
died during the fight with Nappa and Vegeta. Unfortunately, two more people
are looking for the Dragon Balls: Vegeta, to wish himself to become a Super
Saiyan, and the warlord Frieza, who wants to become immortal. As they wait
for Goku to arrive, Vegeta, Gohan, and Krillin attempt to fight off Frieza's
forces as best as they can. However, they can't seem to defeat Captain Ginyu
and his Ginyu Force. Vegeta takes a beating from Recoome, Ginyu's
second-in-command, but when Goku arrives, he beats the fiend without
breaking a sweat. Vegeta finishes off Recoome, and Goku goes to fight Ginyu.
Captain Ginyu is tough, but not as strong as Goku. However, Ginyu reveals
his secret attack: changing bodies! He switches bodies with Goku, but
realizes his Power Level isn't the same as Goku's, but his own. He gets beat
badly by Gohan, then attempts to switch bodies with Vegeta. Ginyu ends up
giving Goku back his body accidentally, and then, when he attemps to switch
with Vegeta again, Goku tosses a Namekian frog in the way!

Goku then goes to fight Frieza himself. Frieza kills Vegeta, but the Saiyan
prince's dying words reveal to Goku that Frieza is the one who blew up the
Saiyan homeplanet. In order to see Goku's true power, Frieza obliterates
Goku's best friend, Krillin! This angers Goku to the point of becoming a
Super Saiyan. When Super Saiyan, one's strength increases tremendously,
their eyes become green, and their hair becomes spikier and blond. Super
Saiyan Goku shows Frieza that he got more than he bargained for when he
wanted to see a Super Saiyan, but his kind heart prevented him from killing
Frieza. In fact, Goku gave Frieza a bit of his energy to thrive on. But
Frieza, always the stubborn one, shot a blast at Goku as he flew off. This
forced Goku to shoot a blast back at the monster, defeating him for good.
Planet Namek then blew up with Goku on it. However, Goku's newfound Super
Saiyan ability allowed him to survive the explosion.

Cell Saga (Split into Trunks, Android, Imperfect Cell, Perfect Cell, and
Cell Games Sagas in America)
---------
The Z Fighters suddenly feel a strange Ki. It's Frieza's and there's
another, more powerful one with him! As they travel to the scene of their
landing, they see that Frieza is now a cyborg, and his traveling companion
is none other than his gigantic father King Cold! Apparently, King Cold had
found his son floating through space, hanging onto a thread of life, and he
had his scientists rebuild him. Then, without warning, a purple-haired teen
appears and claims he not only can defeat Frieza and King Cold, but he WILL
defeat them! Then, he becomes a Super Saiyan, and makes good on his
prediction. The young man tells the Z Fighters to follow him if they want to
meet Goku. But how could that be, when Goku's been gone for so long? The
stranger leads them to a certain spot, and then, an hour later, Goku lands!
After speaking with Goku in private, he learns that this boy is Trunks, a Z
Fighter from the future, and the son of Vegeta and Bulma! He also says that
all of the Z Fighters in his timeline were killed by vicious Androids
created by the Red Ribbon Army, as a revenge for Goku defeating them many
years ago. That is, all except for Goku, who died from a heart disease he
got in space. He gives Goku a medicine for the disease, and tells him that
he will return in three years to help him fight the Androids.

The Z Fighters trained for three years. When the Androids came, they were
ready for them. Androids 19 & 20 put up a good fight, but, they were
defeated by Vegeta (now a Super Saiyan) and Piccolo (Goku's heart disease
kicked in, and he left to take the medicine). Android 20, who is actually
Dr. Gero, the creator of Androids past #8, flew off and activated Androids
17 and 18, who were actually the Androids that Trunks fights in the future.
17 kills Gero, and he and his sister activate another Android, 16. These
Androids are more powerful than 19 and 20, because they have an unlimited
power supply. Piccolo fights off 17, and Super Saiyan Vegeta does the same
with 18. Piccolo fares well against his opponent, but Vegeta gets creamed by
the female Android.

Cell, the twenty-first Android of the Red Ribbon Army, appears from another
alternate timeline to absorb 17 and 18 in order to achieve his "Perfect"
form. Piccolo fights the Android, using his newfound strength from fusing
with Kami to keep him at bay. Cell, however, has the cells of Goku, Piccolo,
Vegeta, King Cold, and Frieza, and uses the Kamehameha and Solar Flare in
his battle. Cell absorbs 17, and then 18, and becomes Perfect. Cell then
decides to hold a tournament. He says that if he wins this tournament, he
will destroy the world. As well as the Z Warriors, Hercule Satan joins the
tournament with his protegés. Although the world views him as the world's
strongest man, he is actually quite weak compared to even Yamcha, Tien
Shinhan, or Krillin, and is beaten easily. Goku gives a go at fighting Cell,
but relinquishes his fight to his son, who had just achieved Super Saiyan.
Super Saiyan Gohan fights Cell, but Cell wants to see the true power of his
opponent (just as Frieza did with Goku), and sends out his Cell Jr.'s to
attempt to make Gohan angry. In a final attempt, he crushes the newly
reformed Android 16's head, triggering Gohan's ascent into Super Saiyan 2.
Gohan easily defeats the Cell Jr.'s, and even Cell's new Ultra Perfect form,
causing him to spit up Android 18 and revert to his second form. In
desperation, Cell attempts to blow himself and the world up, but Goku uses
his Instant Transmission to take Cell to King Kai's planet, where he safely
detonates (Safely as in to spare the Earth. He ends up taking Goku, King
Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory with him). Then, in a cloud of smoke, Cell uses
his Death Beam to kill Trunks. He's returned in his Perfect form! Cell and
Gohan fight onward, and, with the help of Goku's spirit, Gohan performs a
one-armed Kamehameha so powerful, it has its own Power Level, killing Cell
once and for all. Hercule takes all of the credit and becomes the world's
hero.

Majin Buu Saga (Split into Great Saiyaman, Babidi, Majin Buu, Fusion, and
Kid Buu Sagas in America)
--------------
In the afterlife, Goku competes in the Otherworld Tournament in an attempt
to win the grand prize: a training session with the legendary Grand Kai.
Goku handily defeats all of his opponents (watch for another Toriyama
crossover in the tournament. Frog, known as Froug in the dub, from Chrono
Trigger is a fighter here), and faces Pikkon, a powerful green fighter who
fights like a Namekian, but is not. Pikkon and Goku tie, but Goku continues
training. Meanwhile, Gohan has become a super hero known as the Great
Saiyaman. He is constantly competing against Videl Satan, Hercule's
daughter, in fighting evil. However, when she finds out the Great Saiyaman
and Gohan are one and the same, she slowly falls in love with him. Goku is
granted one day on Earth to spend with his family, who are going to the
World Martial Arts Tournament. Also, Chi-Chi and Goku apparently have
another son, Goten (he must have left Chi-Chi with a little parting gift
before going to the Cell Games, if you know what I mean). Goku enters the
tournament alongside the others. Videl fights against a strange-looking
brute named Spopovich, who, although she pours all of her strength into her
match, is beaten badly. Piccolo forfeits against a purple fellow who calls
himself Shin, and Gohan's, I mean Great Saiyaman's match is interrupted by
Spopovich and his friend Yamu. They stick a device into Gohan and steal his
energy. After they leave, Gohan's opponent, Kibito, heals him. The most of
the Z Warriors, Videl, Kibito, and Shin (who is actually the Supreme Kai)
chase after Yamu and Spopovich. A small, wrinkly wizard named Babidi takes
the energy device from his two servants, then has them killed. Babidi then
sics Dabura, king of demons, on the Z Fighters, using his spit to turn
Piccolo and Krillin to stone. Babidi and Dabura retreat into the ship.
Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku follow.

The World Tournament continues with a Battle Royal. Android 18 easily beats
everybody except for Mighty Mask, who is actually Goten and Trunks in
disguise. After she reveals them, however, they are disqualified. 18 then
goes on to fight Hercule, and, after putting him in a headlock, tells him
that if she lets him win, she wants the prize money and some of his own
money, for she only cares for money, not fame. Hercule agrees, and she
pretends to lose. Meanwhile, Vegeta kills Pui Pui, one of Babidi's henchmen,
and Goku defeats another, Yakon. Gohan faces off against Dabura, but Babidi
has other plans. He uses his magic to put Vegeta under his spell, making him
Majin Vegeta, and able to go Super Saiyan 2. Vegeta is too strong, though,
and uses the Majin power to his convinience. He returns to the tournament to
fight Goku. Goku and Vegeta battle, and Goku loses. However, Goku was
holding back, not turning into his hidden Super Saiyan 2 form.

Babidi uses the energy from Gohan, along with his fallen warriors to revive
Majin Buu , a pink, marshmallow-like creature that his father Bibidi created
eons ago. Gohan, Supreme Kai, and the others fight Buu, but lose against the
child-like demon. Majin Vegeta shows up to fight, and finds out that if Buu
wins, he'll destroy the world, and that includes his family. Vegeta
concentrates all of his energy into a bomb inside himself, blowing up
himself and Buu. Buu, however, survives. Supreme Kai and Kibito later take
Gohan to the Planet of the Kais to get the legendary Z Sword to attempt to
kill Majin Buu with. Goku regains consciousness, and goes Super Saiyan 3
during his battle with Buu (and he uses THE attack that inspired the Matrix
kick). Goku still cannot defeat Buu, but he succeeds in convincing him to
kill Babidi. Before Goku returns to the afterlife, he teaches Goten and
Trunks the Fusion Dance technique, which causes them to become Gotenks.
Gotenks fights Buu, but his cockiness makes him lose. Hercule attempts to
fight Majin Buu, but ends up turning him good by buying him a puppy. Bee's
love convinced Buu to become good.

However, some bank robbers shot Hercule and Bee, making Buu release his evil
side, known as Evil Buu. Majin Buu and Evil Buu fought, and the good Buu
tried to turn Evil Buu into a cookie. Evil Buu used his breath to reflect
the beam and turn Majin Buu into the cookie, then ate him, becoming Super
Buu. Super Buu murdered the bank robbers, and, being evil, voided the deal
he had with Hercule (although, for a while, he refused to hurt him and Bee).
Gotenks eventually learned how to become Super Saiyan 3, and fought Super
Buu in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Super Buu escaped and turned everyone on
Kami's Lookout into food, and unleashed his Genocide Attack on the world,
killing most of the humans. Shortly after Super Buu decided to go back to
Earth, he absorbed Piccolo, gaining his intellect and attacks. Then, he
absorbed Gotenks, taking that fighter's cockiness and strength. Meanwhile,
Goku went to the Planet of the Kais, and he and Gohan accidentally broke the
Z Sword, releasing an Old Kai. Old Kai, or Elder Kai, awakened the hidden
power within Gohan, allowing him to release his Mystic form. Elder Kai gave
Goku his life, and he also obtained a pair of Potara Earrings. Mystic Gohan
held off Super Buu until Goku arrived. Goku tossed Gohan an earring to fuse,
but Gohan missed the earring. Super Buu absorbed Gohan, gaining his anger
and superpower. Vegeta then showed up, although still dead, but he and Goku
fused with the Potara Earrings to become Vegeto. Vegeto knocks around Super
Buu, but, being a Fusion, he is very cocky. Super Buu absorbs Vegeto, and
split. Goku and Vegeta rescue Gohan, Goten, Piccolo, and Trunks from Buu's
body, and sever his connection to Majin Buu, making him become his original
form: Kid Buu.

Kid Buu blows up the world, but Goku and Vegeta save Hercule, Bee and Dende.
Kid Buu goes to the afterlife and the Home For Infinite Losers to attempt to
blow them up, but Goku and Vegeta bring him to the Planet of the Kais. Goku
attempts to create a Super Spirit Bomb to stop Kid Buu, and Vegeta and the
newly escaped Majin Buu distract him. Goku unleashes his attack on Kid Buu,
destroying him. Goku then wishes for Kid Buu to come back as a good guy, so
he can train with him. Years later, Gohan and Videl got married and had a
girl named Pan. Vegeta and Bulma had another child, Bulla. The Z Warriors
joined another World Tournament, and Goku meets Uub, a poor little boy who
is actually Buu's reincarnation. Uub is very strong, and learns while he
fights. After he and Goku fight, they take off to train. Pan ends up beating
a large man named Wild Tiger in two hits, and her Uncle Goten, who
apparently beat Majin Buu. It is unknown who actually wins the tournament.

2. The Z Combatants
***********************************************
A. GOKU First Appearance: Dragonball: Pilaf Saga
Description: What can your enemies do? They are too slow for you!
Nobody has overcome the supreme limits of the power of the super-warriors
life you! More agile, and mastering the very smallest parts of your body,
your punches and kicks are super-powerful. But you are strongest in close
combat: You are master of the block. And because you can launch the
KAMEHAMEHA, or even the ULTRA KAMEHAMEHA at any given moment, it's true to
say that you are the total warrior, and you know how to make the most of any
situation!

Bio: Goku is the main character of each Dragonball series. His real name is
Kakarot, and he was sent to Earth to eradicate all life and get it ready for
Frieza to sell. Fortunately, though, he falls off of a cliff and bonks his
head, wiping his mission from his memory. His adoptive grandfather, Gohan,
raised him taught him martial arts. Ironically, the boy who he loved so much
was the one who killed him. When Saiyans stare at a full moon, they become a
large ape-like beast called a Kong or an Oozaru (Oozaru comes from the
Japanese words "Ooki" (big) and "Saru" ape). Since Goku was but a little
boy, he could not control his Kong form, and he killed his grandfather.
Later, he met a teenage girl named Bulma, who happened to be searching for
Dragon Balls. Gohan had left Goku a Dragon Ball, and Bulma wanted to summon
the Eternal Dragon and be granted a wish. Goku joined Bulma, and together
they found the Dragon Balls and saved the world a few times.

Eventually, he married Chi-Chi, daughter of the Ox King, and had a son who
he named after his grandfather. When Goku went to Kame House to have young
Gohan meet his friends, he is interrupted by a mysterious visitor. This man
claims to be Goku's older brother, Raditz. He was sent to Earth to see why
his younger brother had not yet conquered the planet. Raditz decided to kill
the people of Earth himself. Piccolo teamed up with Goku in order to defeat
Raditz. Goku grabbed onto Raditz and ordered for Piccolo to attack. Piccolo
shot the Special Beam Cannon through the both of them. After training in the
afterlife for a while, Goku returned to Earth and fough against Nappa and
Vegeta.

The battle against Vegeta had taken quite a toll on him, so Goku had to
rest. While he rested, his friends went to Namek to get the Namekian Dragon
Balls. When he was ready, Bulma's father sent him to Namek in a spaceship.
He assisted Vegeta in defeating the Ginyu Force, then went to face Frieza
himself. Frieza killed Krillin, causing Goku to achieve Super Saiyan status.
Goku blasted the Changeling into oblivion, but the planet exploded before he
could escape. Nevertheless, Goku surivived, and returned years later. During
the Androids battle, however, he developed a heart disease. When he returned
to fight Cell, he actually stopped fighting in order to let Gohan fight.
When Cell went to blow himself up, Goku teleported him to King Kai's planet,
and sacrificed himself.

Goku went to the Otherworld Tournament in order to train himself. After
(technically) beating Pikkon, he learned how to go Super Saiyan 2 and 3, and
learned the Fusion Dance, which he later teaches to Goten and Trunks (and,
in Movie 12 and Dragonball GT, he and Vegeta use it). He is then granted one
day to spend on Earth, which he uses to enter the World Tournament. However,
his visit is interrupted by Babidi's henchmen attacking Gohan. When he faces
off against Majin Buu later, he reveals his Super Saiyan 2 and 3 forms, but
it was not enough. He is given his life back by Elder Kai, and returns to
Earth, and fusing with Vegeta to become Vegeto. Vegeto cannot beat Super
Buu, but his Super Spirit Bomb makes quick work of Kid Buu. At the end of
DBZ, he joins his granddaughter in another World Tournament in order to
fight against Buu's good reincarnation, Uub.

B. GOHAN First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Saiyan Saga
Description: Small? Perhaps! But with oversized courage and strength! All
you have to do is go for it!
First child of GOKU and CHI CHI, you had PICCOLO as a sensei. You have great
respect for him. However, you are kind and timid like a little gentleman!
But within, you hide a power that is capable of making such terrifying
enemies as FRIEZA and VEGETA tremble wwith fear! Even though you are small
and your fighting technique is nothing special, your special moves such as
your KAMEHAMEHA or MASENKO are very powerful.

Bio: When Dragonball Z first begins, we see Goku taking his young son Gohan
to meet his friends. This is when his evil uncle Raditz came. Raditz
kidnapped Gohan, but his intense anger busted through Raditz's ship.
Apparently, although Gohan is a very calm and usually nonviolent person, his
anger makes him incredibly strong. After Raditz was killed, Piccolo trained
Gohan for the upcoming Saiyan fight. When Nappa shoots a powerful blast,
Piccolo leaps into the way and saves the young Saiyan, for he had grown
attached to him. Later on, Goku trains him in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber,
causing him to go Super Saiyan.

During the Cell Games, Gohan's anger built up inside of him. Cell's killing
of Android 16 was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back,
triggering his ascent to the previously unseen level of Super Saiyan 2. This
power allowed him to kill Cell. After this battle, Gohan goes to Orange Star
High School in Herculeville, and becomes a superhero known as Great
Saiyaman. Here, he meets his future wife Videl. After Majin Buu attacks,
Gohan travels to the Planet of the Kais, where he pulls out the Z Sword in
an attempt to stop Buu. However, his father breaks the sword, releasing Old
Kai. This being uses his powers to awaken a special Saiyan form in Gohan
that, if mastered perfectly, exceeds all levels of Super Saiyan, the Mystic
Saiyan form. Unfortunately, Gohan never perfects this power, and doesn't end
up beating Buu.

Special Moves:

Halo Stomp: Forward, Down + X (in air).
Slingshot Sweep: Back, Down/Back, Down, X.

---
C. GOTEN First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Great Saiyaman Saga
Description: A true double of the child super Goku, happy, lively, and
dynamic... you really are full of energy!
Second son of GOKU and CHI CHI, you are much younger than your big brother,
but you have already become a Super Saiyan, much like TRUNKS who is about
the same age as you - true proof of your skills! Of course, you are not that
experienced, so your attacks seem a little repetitive, but they are so
effective. You know the technique of KAMEKAMEHA but you are best at close
combat!

Bio: Goten is Goku's other son. He was apparently concieved before the Cell
Games, so he never met his father before he died. When he first meets Goku,
he is quite timid and maybe a little bit scared, but as he gets to know him,
he begins to love him as if he had been with him his entire life. Goten can
use the Kamehameha technique, but he mispronounces it as "Kamekameha". Goten
enters the World Martial Arts Tournament Junior Division in an attempt to
prove himself the world's strongest child, but he loses to his best friend
Trunks. Trunks and Goten then mug a fighter named Mighty Mask and steal his
costume so they can go to the Adult Division. Android 18 fights them, then
splits their costume, revealing their true selves and getting them
disqualified.

Goten and Trunks then fly off so they can fight this strong "Buu Monster"
they heard of. Goku teaches them the Fusion Dance so they can become Gotenks
and fight Majin Buu, but their cockiness (a side effect of fusion) is their
downfall. Goten is ejected from Super Buu after he (as Gotenks) are
absorbed, then Kid Buu blows up the Earth with him on it. Goten is of course
restored by the Dragon Balls. At the end of DBZ, he is seen being defeated
by his niece, Pan, in the World Tournament. The strange thing is, Majin Buu
was his opponent before Pan, so he obviously had to have beaten Buu.

Special Moves:
Sky X Attack: Hold Down for 3 seconds., press Up + [].
Jumping Spark: Back + X.
Flying Power Kick: Down + Back, Up + Forward + X.
Hurricane Sweep: Back, Down/Back, Down, X.

Super Moves:
Kamekameha: Back, Down/Back, Down, Down/Forward, Forward, O.

D. KID TRUNKS First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Androids Saga
Description: You will never be beaten by an adult! So hit them, hit them,
and hit again!
VEGETA's blood runs through your veins. YOu have inherited your father's
temper. You may only still be a child, but you fight with the same pride and
self-confidence as he! You are not afraid of those larger than you - on the
contrary! You swoop down on your enemies, whatever their size, and floor
them with your SUPER ELBOW SMASH or LIGHTNING KICK!

Bio: This version of Trunks is first seen in the Androids Saga as a newborn
baby. He is the son of Vegeta and Bulma, and is best friends with Goten,
Goku's second son. The two train and play together a lot, and face each
other in the Junior Division of the World Martial Arts Tournament. Trunks
wins, but only because Goten goes out of bounds. They later enter the Adult
Division as Mighty Mask to try their strength against adults, but are found
out and forced out of the Tournament. When they are kicked out, he and Goten
go off to fight Majin Buu. Along the way, Goten's father teaches them how to
do the Fusion Dance, so they become Gotenks. Little would anyone know, that
Trunks would play a large role in the beginning of Dragonball GT.

Special Moves:
Super Elbow Smash : Down, Down/Forward, Forward, [].
Reverse Tornado: Back + X.
Pointed Charge: Down, Down/Forward, Forward, X.
Lightning Kick: Hold Back for 3 seconds, press Forward + X.

E. GOTENKS First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Majin Buu Saga
Description: A fusion of two super warriors, you would be invincible - if
only you didn't let it go to your head so much!
KID TRUNKS and GOTEN can merge using a secret technique given to them by the
inhabitantes of Metamole. And the result is a super fighter who had KID
TRUNK's attack strength and GOTEN's technique. You are so proud that you
like to show off during combat and the names that you have given to your
special moves prove how much you value them! They may seem extravagant, but
with good reason. Each one is very powerful. Block your opponent's movements
and try to use the SHINE SHINE MISSILE!

Bio: Before Goku returned to the Afterlife, he taught Goten and Trunks a
very powerful technique he had learned: the Fusion Dance. The first few
attempts at this dance were flubs, but finally, they got it right. Gotenks
is a very powerful fighter, and may have been strong enough to defeat Majin
Buu, but there is a side-effect to fusions: the fighter is very cocky. This
results in the fusions almost always being defeated. Nevertheless, Gotenks
is still a formidable fighter, and is the only character in the official
sagas, other than Goku, to go Super Saiyan 3. A lot of Gotenks' attacks are
mostly showing-off, and have ridiculous names, such as Ultra Buu Buu
Volleyball, Wild Boar Attack, and Super Kamikaze Ghost Attack.

Special Moves:
Boar Attack: Forward, Down + [] (in air).
Prodigal Super Punch: Hold Back for 3 seconds, press Forward + [].
You're Dead Kick: Down, Down/Back, Back, X.
Super Brilliant Kick: Down, UP + X.
Jury's Verdict: Down, Down/Forward, Forward, O.

Super Moves:
Clean Slate: Back, Down/Back, Down, Down/Forward, Forward, O.
Shine Shine Missile: Forward, Down/Forward, Down, Down/Back, Back, Forward,
O.
Super Kamikaze Ghost Attack: Forward, Down/Forward, Down, Down/Back, Back,

F. TRUNKS First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Trunks Saga
Description: You charge, you hit! Terrify your opponents - they have nowhere
to hide!
When FRIEZA and his father came to earth to seek vengance, you suddenly
appeared to destroy them with unexpected ease. When you were small, you were
aggressive and foolish, but now that you are an adolescent, you seem to have
reached a certain maturity. You have endurance in combat and great mastery
of movement that is not unlike that of GOKU. At mid-distance, you are very
powerful with your energy balls: An ENERGY JET or BURNING ATTACK inflicts
serious damage on your opponent before you finish them off with a TERMINAL
ASSAULT.

Bio: Future Trunks comes from an alternate timeline in which Goku has died
of a heart disease, and all of the other Z Warriors have been killed by the
Androids, except for he and Gohan. Gohan trained Trunks and gave him his Z
Sword. As a result, Trunks became a very strong and powerful fighter.
However, when Gohan fights Androids 17 and 18 alone and is killed by them,
Trunks goes Super Saiyan at the loss of his sensei. So his mother created a
Time Machine to travel back in time to give Goku some heart medicine in
hopes of changing the future. However, although Trunks' appearance in the
normal DBZ timeline changed some things, his timeline was untouched.
However, this did not stop Trunks from helping the Z Warriors fight Frieza,
King Cold, the Androids and Cell, who had come from another, third timeline,
in which he kills Trunks and steals his Time Machine. After Cell blows
himself up, Trunks is shot through the chest by Cell's Death Beam, but is
later brought back by the Dragon Balls. Future Trunks also has medium roles
in a few DBZ movies.

G. PICCOLO First Appearance: Dragonball: Piccolo Jr. Saga
Description: Destabilize your opponent! Lauch surprise attacks from a
distance!
Great rival of GOKU and sensei of GOHAN, you are the greatest living
Namekian fighter. Your relative slowness forces you to keep your distance
and avoid close combat, but the power you can put into an assault is
phenomenal. As hand-to-hand is not your specialty, you have developed a
personal technique that allows you to keep your opponent at mid-distance and
take them by surprise using your MYSTICAL JET or immobilize them using your
UNFOLDING MYSTERY. You are master of several energy ball techniques. Do not
hesitate to use your SPECIAL BEAM CANNON or your DEATH JET!

Bio: Very late in the Dragonball series, an evil alien demon named King
Piccolo came to Earth to regain his youth and destroy the planet. Along with
himself, he brought his sons Piano, Drums, Tambourine, and Cymbal. Goku
defeated all of them. But, with the last strands of his life hanging, King
Piccolo shoved his essence into an egg and shot it out of his mouth. This
egg eventually hatched to become Piccolo. Unlike his brothers, Piccolo has
the memories and emotions of his father. Because of such, he attacked Goku
for revenge of beating his father. However, Piccolo has one thing his father
and brothers never did: a conscience. He eventually drifts to the side of
good after he trained Gohan, coming to love the boy as if he were his own
son. Piccolo uses a technique twice throughout the series of Dragonball Z in
order to increase his strength: Namekian Fusion. This technique is totally
different from the Fusion Dance or Potarra Earrings. The stronger of the two
sort of absorbs the other person's life into him. Since Piccolo is the
strongest Namekian alive, he always takes the other one into him. He uses
this technique twice: once to save Nail from the pain of death (and to get
strong enough to hold his own against Frieza), and with his father's (and
his) good half, Kami, in order to fight Cell. Piccolo is killed by Nappa in
the Saiyan Saga by blocking his shot, from hitting Gohan, and when Kid Buu
blows up the world.

H. KRILLIN First Appearance: Dragonball: Tournament Saga
Description: You attack and withdraw without giving your opponents the
chance to react!
Your strength and defense have a few weak points, and close combat is not
your preferred method of battle. Thanks to your quick movements and
technique, you always manage to keep your distance. Your continual coming
and going eventually wears your opponents out. Annoy them! Then you can
finish them with a DESTRUCTO DISK!

Bio: When Goku first met Krillin, they were rivals. He and Krillin were
being trained by Master Roshi, and Krillin kept trying to be the suckup of
the two. However, even though Roshi preferred Goku, he treated his students
equally. Krillin quickly became very close to Goku, and they became best
friends. Throughout most of Dragonball, Krillin is nearly equal to Goku in
strength. However, as he slacks off (and Goku reaches more powerful forms),
Krillin is left behind as one of the more weak fighters. Krillin does still
help out whenever possible. After the Cell Games, he ends up marrying
Android 18 and they have a daughter named Marron (not to be confused with
his ex-girlfriend, Maron), and he grows his hair back out. At the end of
DBZ, only two humans are more powerful than him: Videl, and Chi-Chi (must be
a female thing). Krillin is killed by Tambourine, Frieza (which results in
Goku going Super Saiyan), and Super Buu. He is also slaughtered by the
Androids in Future Trunks' timeline.

I. TIEN First Appearance: Dragonball: Crane School Saga
Description: You hace an excellent defense and a highly tuned technique. Do
not give your opponent the chance to get through. Attack!
With training, you have reached a very high level of defense. This is
because you know very well that the strength of your normal attack is not
very great. In close combat, this is even more important. Effectively block
the attack of your opponent and keep your distance with a MYSTERY RAY or
TAIYOKEN. You can then jump in with some powerful techniques such as the
DODONPA or the CONVERGING BEAM. Make the most of your solid defenses to make
some decisive blows against your enemy - surprise them with your
counterattacks.

Bio: Goku first met up with Tein Shinhan when a monster named Inashikacho
began terrorizing nearby villages. The monster was actually an ally of Tein
and Chaiotzu's, attacking villages, so the two fighters could "kill" him and
collect the reward. Tien next is seen in the World Tournament that Goku next
enters, and becomes Yamcha's, and the Goku's opponent. Despite the fact that
Tien is very strong, Goku keeps him on his toes. When Tien uses his Tri-Beam
Attack to blow up the arena, whomever hits the ground first will lose.
Unfortunately, a van drives underneath Goku and knocks him to the ground a
split second before Tien. Fortunately, however, Tien and Chiaotzu rebel
against the evil master, Master Shin, who is Master Roshi's rival. Tien
eventually becomes a good friend of Goku's. However, he doesn't fight much
after he is brought back after Nappa kills him in the Saiyan Saga, but he
does show up to distract Cell and Super Buu later on. He is also another
victim of Kid Buu's world destruction. Strangely, the original dubbers of
DBZ said his name was Tenshinhan, and Tein was a nickname, whereas
Funimation uses Tein Shinhan as his full name :p

J. GREAT SAIYAMAN First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Great Saiyaman Saga
Description: Be a super hero! Fight for right and justice! Show them what
you've got!
You are still in school, so you have to fight behind this mask: Neither
VIDEL nor the others must know... But above all, you love wearing this
get-up! With varied techniques of a good level, GOHAN is not very strong in
the attack. Our masked avenger does not have the experience of GOHAN. And,
in any case, not in the manga or TV series. Luckily, you are a good
potential GOHAN. So forward, avenger!
(THE S'S NOTE: This has to be the most confusing description in the entire
manual. Just what the Hell ARE they saying? O_o)

Bio: In order to fight crime in Herculeville, the teenage Gohan dons the
guise of a superhero using a special watch that Bulma made him. However,
there is one other defender of justice who sees the Great Saiyaman as
everything but a nuisance: Videl Satan, Hercule's daughter! However, as fate
would have it, Videl eventually finds out the hero's secret identity and
falls in love with him. They also become fighters in the World Tournament,
until Yamu absorbs his energy. Great Saiyaman is only seen sparingly after
that.

K. SUPREME KAI First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Great Saiyaman Saga
Description: Your movements are super-fast - make the most of them to follow
one attack with another!
Ruler of the Kais, you have come down to Earth to prevent the resurrection
of MAJIN BUU. A single attack of yours is nothing special, but the speed and
lightness of your legwork make it easy for you to run rings round your
opponent like a butterfly and sting like a wasp. You sense danger? Stop the
assault with your CIRCULAR DISENGAGEMENT! Block attacks with your
IMMOBILIZATOR, then finish off your opponent with a QUADRUPLE GOD KICK or
CRAZED ASSAULT!

On the Planet of the Kais, there lived five Gods. Their leader was Dai Kaio,
and there were four Supreme Kais. However, a wizard named Bibidi unleashed
an evil being named Buu upon their planet, killing two of the Supreme Kais,
absorbing one, and and absorbing the Dai Kaio. The East Supreme Kai was the
only one that was left. He killed Bibidi and sealed Buu away in an egg. All
was safe from the rage of Majin Buu... until centuries later, when Bibidi's
son, Babidi, unlocked the egg of Majin Buu. The East Supreme Kai came to
Earth's World Martial Arts tournament under the guise of Shin, with his
traveling partner Kibito. He came to warn Goku and his friends of the threat
of Majin Buu, and enlisted in their help in fighting this menace. However,
in a fight with Majin Buu, Supreme Kai was badly damaged. Kibito healed him,
and they took Gohan with them to the Planet of the Kais to unleash the Z
Sword. After the Elder Kai is released from the Z Sword, Kibito and Supreme
Kai use a pair of Potara Earrings to become Kibitokai.

L. VEGETA First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Saiyan Saga
Description: Your wide-ranging technique gives you enormous destructive
power! They are all worms compared to you!
With the honor and pride of the royal blood that runs through your veins as
prince of the Saiyans, you have multiplied your training for a sole purpose:
To gain a strength that will overcome GOKU! The various techniques you use
are very powerful and few opponents will survive for long if yo are allowed
to inflict blow after super-powerful blow! Hit with the HAMMER OF VEGETA or
the KICK SLASH, then punch and punch with hand-to-hand fury!

Bio: Vegeta is the Prince of the planet of the same name. He was not on the
Saiyan homeworld when it was destroyed, so he became one of the last
remaining Saiyans. He is first seen when he arrives on Earth with his
bodyguard Nappa. After Nappa is defeated, Vegeta blows him up, because he is
weak (which the Budokai alternate ending is inconsistant with. In the
alternate ending, Vegeta says he did it out of honor). After Nappa's death,
he and Goku get into a long and awesome fight. He also transforms into a
Kong, which is defeated by Yajirobe's sword. Vegeta flies off in a spaceship
at the end of the battle, then ends up heading to the Planet Namek to
collect all of the Dragon Balls, in order to wish himself a Super Saiyan.
However, after a fight with Frieza, Vegeta's dream is destroyed with a shot
through the chest. Vegeta is resurrected, however, when though, when those
who died on Namek are brought back.

During the amount of time between Frieza's defeat and his appearance on
Earth (known as the Garlic Jr. Saga in the anime), Vegeta trained with every
ounce of his being, in an attempt to become stronger than Goku. Pushing his
limits, he becomes Super Saiyan, then returns on Earth to fight the
Androids. Android 18 kicks his ass, though, going as far as to even
dislocating his shoulder. Vegeta doesn't do much throughout the rest of the
Android and Cell Sagas, just helping out in tidbit fights. In the Babidi and
Majin Buu Sagas, however, Vegeta plays a role about as big as he did when he
first appeared. In the World Tournament, Vegeta goes to face Goku. Babidi
then puts his Majin Spell upon Vegeta, but Vegeta is too strong to be
controlled by it and uses the added power to his advantage, turning Super
Saiyan 2. He gets his fight against Goku, and ends up winning because Goku
was holding back. Majin Vegeta goes off to battle Majin Buu. Majin Buu ends
up proving too much for him, but Vegeta realizes if Majin Buu wins, he will
lose his family. He gathers a large amount of energy and blows himself up.
His effort is fruitless, though, as Majin Buu is not defeated by his attack,
and Bulma and Trunks end up being killed by Super Buu and Kid Buu,
respectively. When Vegeta returns from the Afterlife, he fuses with Goku to
become Vegeto. Vegeto fights Super Buu, but is absorbed and they split. At
the very end of DBZ, Vegeta and Majin Buu act as distractions for Kid Buu so
Goku can gather enough energy to summon the Super Spirit Bomb, as he has
realized that Goku will always be stronger than him.

M. ZARBON First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Ginyu Saga
Description: You live for the beauty of the fight... yours! You are devoted
to the art of combat - your own!
Frieza's right-hand man, you are a size to rival VEGETA but, proud of your
beauty, you cannot stant the idea of being hit in the face. You special
moves are all aimed toward this vain obsession: Powerful and magnificent,
they are nonetheless limited if you rely on them alone. Use a clever mixture
of normal techniques and close combat to achieve the beauty of an efficent
fight!

Bio: A pretty boy (and probably a femmie boy, too), Zarbon is quite strong
of a fighter. He's Frieza's most elite solider, but he is very vain. He can
transform into a huge, powerful beast if need be, but he hates to, because
it makes him look ugly. This transformation beat his rival, Vegeta, the
first time, but Vegeta recooperated, and finished off Zarbon once and for
all.

N. RECOOME First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Ginyu Saga
Description: Your attacks are extremely deadly. Nothing can stop them!
You are the strongest member of the GINYU FORCE! Although you have energy
ball techniques, such as your ERASER CANNON, you can only show your true
strength in close combat. Get neat your opponent and grab them, then finish
them off with a MAHHA ATTACK or a CATAPULT!

Bio: Recoome is Captain Ginyu's second-in-command. He's a tall and powerful
warrior, who seems stupid but actually is quite clever (reminds me of my

best friend...). He faces Vegeta first, and beats him within an inch of his
life. Just as Recoome thought he was the top of the world, Goku appeared and
defeated him without a second thought. Vegeta got his revenge on Recoome,
and finished him off.

O. CAPTAIN GINYU First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Ginyu Saga
Description: Confuse your opponent with your eccentric poses! They will not
have the time to realize your true power!
You are leader of the force that carries your name and it is the most
powerful unit in FRIEZA's army. You have an extraordinary capacity to
exchange bodies with anyone who looks you in the eye. And although you spend
your time adopting extravagant postures, your combat technique is more
orthodox. A good fighter, you know how to combine hits, blocks energy jets
and you have no special fighting distance, making anybody a suitable
opponent!

Bio: The leader of the Ginyu Force (obviously) and Frieza's best warrior.
The Ginyu Force is only used because the rest of Frieza's men bit it.
Ginyu's most unique attack is that he can switch bodies with his opponent
(in a very gory way). He does this to Goku, but is switched back into his
own body when he attempts to switch with Vegeta. He tries to switch with
Vegeta again, but Goku tosses a Namekian frog in the way. When the Namekians
are teleported to Earth, Ginyu goes along with them.

P. FRIEZA First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Ginyu Saga
Description: Distance no object! Near or far, your opponent has no chance!
A natural born killer, you want to overcome the entire universe. You have a
slim body and you are so good at manipulating your tail like a whip so that
you can kill with one hit. You are also capable of attacking at terrifying
speeds. In close combat, use your INFERNAL DIVE and TAIL SMASH. While at
distance, use the destructive power of the KILLER BALL or DEATH BALL! In any
case, you are not disadvantaged at a distance! Your opponent will never have
the chance to react!

Bio: Frieza was the most feared person in the universe. He sends his armies
to wipe out the populations of planets, then sells them to others. As a
Changeling, he has the ability to transform in order to gain more strength.
When we first see him in DBZ, he wants to become immortal, so he goes
looking for the Dragon Balls of Namek. He appears to be very weak when he
first appears, but when he transforms, he becomes scarier-looking. His final
form, which is is strongest, looks about as fruity as his first form.
However, he manages to beat the crap out of Vegeta and Piccolo. In order to
get Goku to Super Saiyan (he wanted the honor of killing a Super Saiyan), he
killed Krillin. Well, his plan worked out, but he bit off more than he could
chew. He was only fighting at 1% when he killed Vegeta, but he powered up to
100% while fighting Super Saiyan Goku. He found even at that strength, he
was no match for Goku. Just when everyone had thought Goku had finished off
Frieza, he made his way to Earth, more powerful than before, as a cyborg. It
seems he clung onto a thread of life, floating through space, until his
father, King Cold, found him and had him rebuilt. So, just when things
looked bleak, a mysterious young Saiyan named Trunks appeared and chopped
Frieza into tiny pieces, and blew a hole through King Cold's chest. This is
the final time Frieza is seen alive. He does, however, appear from time to
time in the H.F.I.L.

Q. ANDROID 18 First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Android Saga
Description: You are Goddess of Destruction! You launch one attack after the
other without stopping!
An android designed by the mad DR. GERO, you live only to kill and destroy.
Using your light weight to your advantage, you know how to efficiently make
numerous attacks one after the other. At close range, you disarm your
opponent with a number of kicking techniques. If a gap appears between you,
however, just aim at your opponent's legs with your ENERGY JET to knock them
over. Use your speed and your opponent will be beaten before he knows it.

Bio: 18 is quite a powerful fighter, and proves this when she wipes up Super
Saiyan Vegeta, even going as far as to dislocate his shoulder during a
fight. However, she eventually begins turning good, just in time to be
absorbed by Cell. Soon after Gohan got Cell to regurgitate her, she got
married to Krillin, and they had a daughter, Marron. She is turned into
chocolate by Super Buu and eaten, along with the rest of her family.

R. ANDROID 16 First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Androids Saga
Description: Your entire body is made of revolutionary technology!
The 16th android designed by DR. GERO, you are different from ANDROIDS 17
and 18 in that you are made of pure mechanics. Little attacks here and there
make no mark on your hard exterior. You are an excellent attacker thanks to
your strength. These advantages are compromised by a slight slowness of
movement and your inability to turn around quickly. Use energy balls rather
than hits: You are best at a distance! You have many energy jet techniques
to play with, so keep your distance from your enemies, and you will be most
effective!

Bio: Released by Androids 17 and 18, his original prime objective was to
kill Goku. However, after experiencing nature, he turned over a new leaf.
His only fight is against Cell, whom he tried to destroy with his
self-destruct technique. However, Bulma and her dad removed the bomb in his
body. Cell destroyed 16's body, and then, later on, crushed his head,
triggering Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 transformation.

S. CELL First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Imperfect Cell Saga
Description: Your name spells feat! You have reached perfection: You are the
embodiment of evil and destruction!
A perfect android created from GOKU'S DNA, you also contain cells from
PICCOLO and VEGETA, making you even more powerful. Cells from ANDROIDS 17
and 18 complete this picture of perfection... You have the perfect fighting
body! You can use the five energy balls and jets and your discretion, making
it easy to prevent any attack. But you are just as powerful in close combat
with your height, as you tower over most of your opponents.

Bio: Dr. Gero's final android, made from the DNA of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo,
Frieza, and King Cold. The Cell that everyone fights comes from an alternate
timeline, where Trunks killed Androids 17 and 18. Since he could not become
perfect, he killed Trunks and stole his Time Machine to travel to a time
when the Androids still existed. When the fighters found out about Cell,
however, Trunks and Krillin destroyed Dr. Gero's lab, preventing Cell from
ever emerging in this timeline.

When Cell attacks a small town called Gingertown, he is confronted by
Piccolo. Having recently fused with Kami, Piccolo was currently slightly
stronger than Cell... that is, until Cell absorbed 17, going into his second
form. Some time later, he absorbed 18, and finally ascended to his Perfect
form.

He fights Goku, but the Super Saiyan relinquished his position to Gohan.
Gohan turned Super Saiyan 2, beating him, even after he bulks up to his
Ultra Pefect Form.

Cell was believed to have been destroyed when he self-destructed, but
returned in a cloud of smoke. He is eventually beaten by Gohan's One-Armed
Kamehameha, with help of his deceased father. When when Trunks returns to
his timeline, he kills Cell after beating 17 and 18.

Bio: After Evil Buu ate Majin Buu, he transformed into Super Buu, a large
and muscular fighter. He still is obsessed with things like candy and cake,
though. Super Buu was originally created when he absorbed South Supreme Kai,
before he even confronted Dai Kaio. While on Kami's Lookout, he kills many
people by turning them into food. Super Buu is still rather stupid, but, he
absorbs Piccolo, and gains his knowledge, as well as his attacks, strength,
and clothing. The next fighter he absorbs is Gotenks, which makes him cocky,
but also learns their attacks and gains their strength. Finally, he absorbed
Mystic Gohan, not only adding his attacks to his own, but increasing his
power tenfold. Vegeto fought Super Buu for quite a long time, but his
cockiness ended the battle, and he was absorbed. While inside Super Buu,
Goku and Vegeto defused, freed the captives from inside his body, and he
regressed to his first, most powerful, and most savage form, Kid Buu.

W. MASTER ROSHI First Appearance: Dragonball: Pilaf Saga
Description: MASTER ROSHI, master of all tortoises, knows all sorts of
special attacks. When he unleashes his ELEPHANT PUNCH from behind, followed
by a DRUNKEN TURTLE PUNCH, you must be very lucky to survive! He also uses
various long-distance attacks, such as the MAXI KAMEHAMEHA and the MEGA
DISCHARGE!

Bio: Goku first met the old Turtle Hermit when he returned his Turtle to
him. Goku recieved the Flying Nimbus as a reward, and Bulma got his Dragon
Ball (after showing him her panties). Little did anyone know, Master Roshi
would have a huge part in the remainder of the series. It turns out the
world's dirtiest old man is a top martial artist, and inventor of the
Kamehameha technique. Later in the series, he trains Goku, Krillin, Yamcha,
Tein Shinhan, Chaotzu, and a few other fighters. Although all of his pupils
excel him by far, Roshi still uses his talents to help them out (whether on
purpose or on accident). Roshi was the first to climb Korin's Tower and get
the Super Holy Water. He has also drank water from the fountain of youth,
which is why he is such a spunky old guy. Master Roshi dies twice throughout
all of the series; once when the Mafuba attack he performs on King Piccolo
backfires on him, and another time when he is turned into chocolate by Super
Buu.

Z. VEGETO (Actually GOGETA) First Appearance: Dragonball Z Movie 12: Rebirth
of Fusion
Description: VEGETO is really the strongest of all the warriors - GOKU and
VEGETA rolled into one! His attacks, from TELEPORT to energy discharges such
as the FINAL CHOU KAMEHAMEHA, are irresistible! If your cannot beat VEGETO,
keep training...

(THE S'S NOTE: They really screwed up here. This is actually Gogeta, not
Vegeto, as evidenced by the Fusion Jacket and lack of Potara Earrings. Maybe
they got confused by the fact that Gogeta's entrance sequence in the FMV has
them start with the Potara Earrings, which is just as baffling to me).

In a desperation to defeat the demon crime lord Janemba, Goku and Vegeta
perform the Fusion Dance. At first, however, Vegeta screws up and they
become Veku, a very fat and weak character. After Veku defuses, a half-hour
later they try again and become Gogeta. Gogeta is a very powerful fusion,
and is only seen in Super Saiyan form throughout the movie (he does become
Super Saiyan 4 in GT, but more on that later). He still has the cockiness
Fusion side-effect, but he still manages to kill Janemba by dissolving him
from the inside-out.

Special Moves:
Vegeto (Gogeta) Super Kick: Down, Down/Back, Back, X (in close).
Perforating Spinner: Forward, Back, Forward, X.

?. MR. SATAN First Appearance: Dragonball Z: Cell Games Saga
Description: HERCULE SATAN seems like an ineffective champion, as he can
neither fly nor charge, but don't be fooled. HERCULE is the strongest and
most feared of the long-distance fighters and he unleashes a devastating
rain of grenades, mortars and missiles!

Bio: He's the greatest hero who beat Cell and Majin Buu! Actually, he
didn't, but that's what the people of Earth believe. He first appears to
face Cell in the Cell Games, confident that he could beat the fiend and save
the world. When it is his turn to fight, he ran up to Cell and hit him with
a barrage of punches, which obviously did nothing. He then tried his
Dynamite Kick attack, but Cell whacked him into a mountain. Miraciously,
Hercule survived. Later on during the Cell Games, he threw Android 16's head
near Gohan so he could deliver his speech. When Cell was finally defeated
and the smoke cleared, Hercule claimed victory over Cell. Years later, he
was still the World Champion and even ran his own town, Herculeville (Satan
City in the original). He bribed Android 18 to let him when the next World
Tournament. Then, he proclaimed he would defeat Majin Buu. Using an array of
tricks, he failed to do so, but gained Buu as a friend. However, when he and
the puppy Bee were shot, Buu released his evil half. At the end of DBZ, when
all but Goku's friends and family refused to give up their energy to him for
the Super Spirit Bomb, Hercule convinced everyone that he was fighting Kid
Buu, and they lent their energy. He took credit for saving the world once
more. He moves into an apartment with Majin Buu and Bee after everything.

3. Secrets
***********************************************
A. Obtaining Secret Characters
---
In order to add Master Roshi, Kid Goku, Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Vegeto
(Gogeta), and Mr. Satan (Hercule) to your roster, either beat them in
Championship Mode, or input the following code at the title screen (before
opening the main menu):

Up, ^, Down, X, Left, L1, Right, R1.

You will hear a chime, and then an FMV introducing the hidden characters
will be shown. When you see the title screen again, it will say "Dragonball
Z: Ultimate Battle 27".

If you want your character to have the alternate, Player 2 colors, press
Start when selecting your characters (works for all 27 fighters).

B. Rumors
---
One rumor states that Kid Buu will be playable after beating Championship
Mode three times as Majin Buu. I have not tried this myself, and, since,
unless I can get it confirmed, it would be a large waste of my time to try,
I will not do it.

Another rumor says you can play as Mystic Gohan if you level up Gohan (or in
some cases, Great Saiyaman) to Level 999, the Max Level. I am trying this
right now, but not for the purpose of the rumor.

These two rumors may have some truth anchored in them, as the cover of the
American version of the game shows both Kid Buu and Mystic Gohan.

I have heard that you can obtain the GT version of Kid Goku by leveling up
Kid Goku to Level 999. However, this is untrue, as I have a Level 999 Kid
Goku.

Several websites, including those of stores selling the game, claim that
some American-only characters from the Saiyan Saga (Nappa, Raditz, etc.) and
GT (Pan, Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, etc.) were put into the
game. However, I forgot to copy the cheat down, and I cannot find the sites
again. If anyone can give me the cheat, and/or confirm that it works, I will
give you credit.

And some asshole e-mailed me saying (and I quote): "d00d! if u beet champ
mode as goku, ssj3 goku, chibi goku, and ssj4 goku in tat order, u get ssj5
goku!!!!! he iz kewl!!!" Yeah... right.
