I. Introduction

Dokyusei or Nanpa (Japanese for classmate or those that are in the same class)
is a dating simulation (with adult content) game in DOS format produced by a
Japanese game company called ELF in 1992. 3 years later, its sequel (some
events are loosely connected), that is what this Walkthrough is about, was
released (in DOS). It was proven to be even more popular than its predecessor,
that in 1997, ELF decided to remake a Windows 95 version of it. The game offers
quite a bit of freedom for your character (who you can name) as he goes through
the last winter break of his high school year. As the story progresses, the main
character will meet and interact with a wide variety of female characters whom
he can pursue and could eventually share a happy ending with (only one). Going
through the game once shouldn't take too long. But it offers quite a bit of
replayability. The game also has an unique saving feature (please refer to the
"How to get Diary Books" section). This game (DOS format) was released in only
Japanese/Chinese (as far as I know), so I've taken the liberty to make an
English walkthrough for those that might find this beneficial. For those that
are lucky enough to play the Windows 95 version, even though this guide was
written for the DOS Chinese version with only minor differences, the majority
of the Walkthrough information should still apply. Well, without
further ado, as the title of the game screen suggests:

III. How this game works/controls

Well, couple of points
1. The game utilizes both Keyboard and Mouse. You'll find yourself using the
Mouse for the most part as the majority of the character interactions requires
it. First, go through the Prologue where you get to name your character and
get to know some of the other people around you for a few "game days" where
what you choose to do won't really affect your progress. Once you get through
the Prologue, the fun starts. (Note: If you completed the Prologue and quit
the game, you won't have to come back and replay the Prologue again as you
re-enter the game. A new option on the title screen called "Main" should
now be activated to let you start from Step 2).
2. You'll find yourself waking up in your own room on the first day of your
Winter Break. Yui will soon enter the room to talk with you a bit and leave.
Now you are free to do just about anything you want. Use the Mouse pointer
to move around what you see, you should, for the most part see your pointer
change into a Magnifying Glass with the status bar in the center indicating
"Inspect." Click once with your left button to perform the inspection.
Most of the time it will involve yourself describing what you see in the
dialogue box down at the very bottom. The right mouse button is used
usually when you want to make some physical movement or perform some other
actions (i.e. leave the room), highlight and select what you want to do with
the Left Mouse button. Inspect everything you see. More often or not, the Main
Character always have something to say and some of them are quite humorous.
(Note: If you right click anywhere inside your room, you'll get some game
operations help selections and the option to quit the game and go back to DOS).
3. Your Computer - If you have noticed, not everything in your room that you
inspect is completely useless. One of them is your computer. Click on it and
you'll find yourself inspecting pictures of individual girls you've come in
contact with and whom you know the name of. A List (with quite a bit of names
already there) should pop up. Select a girl's name and you should be able to
cycle through all the event pictures you've "unlocked" for that particular
Game file (i.e. What you unlocked in Save 1 doesn't necessarily mean it is
unlocked in Save 2. I'll explain the Save feature in a little bit). Not only
are you looking at the pictures (ala Flashback), you'll also see the Main
Character describing what that character is like as he knows. His descriptions
will change depends on how much he knows about that particular person, which is
a true beauty of the game, IMHO.
4. Your Bed - One of the most important equipments in the game. Ahem! Not the
way you are thinking! The bed is actually how you Save the game. Whenever you
click on it, your character will indicate it's time for him to catch some Z's.
But this is actually the Save/Load functions of this game. Once you selected
how many hours (1 - 8) of sleep you'd like, you get to choose whether you want
to Save the current game or load a previously saved game. For example, say
it's 4PM, you've clicked on the bed and chose to sleep for 4 hours. If you
choose to Save, it'll ask you which Save File Slot you would like to use and
once you click on the desired slot, the game is Saved at 4PM and you'll wake
up at 8PM. It doesn't matter how many hours of sleep you choose if you are
loading from a Save Slot. If you accidentally clicked on your bed, there's an
option that lets you choose not to sleep. Here's the catch, you only have one
Save Slot to begin with, how can you Save in different Slots? This is yet
another neat little feature with the game. Please refer to the "How to get
Diary Books" section.
5. Once you navigate out of your house, you'll see yourself in the streets. Feel
free to move around with the direction keys on your keyboard, or click on a
certain location with your mouse for your character to move to. Game time won't
pass if you in the street scene, even if you are idle. Game time only passes
when you move from one scene to another (i.e. move from your house to the entry
of a neighbor's house). Lost? Towards the center is a little rectangle. Click on
it and you will bring up a mini-map that shows you where everything is. Move your
mouse over a building and the name of the structure will be revealed. The
location names I used here in this guide are direct translations by myself.
6. Time passage - In the game, game time passes as you move from one location to
another. Generally, it'll take 15 minutes to move from one house to another, 10
minutes to move from one place to another within a structure (i.e. moving
from your room to your living room within your own house or enter into a store
from the outside), 30 minutes for one way trip from one train station to another.
Keep this in mind as most of the events that happen in each characters'
Walkthroughs are time dependent.
7. Money - Well, not exactly the most important thing in this game. But you
still need some cash to get around places. You shouldn't find yourself in dire
need of it for the most part. If you look carefully, you'll find money earning
opportunities or even finding free cash just for you to pick up! (Wish my life
was this easy).
8. Dream Hermit and Disciples of Dream Hermit - Sometimes you'll find yourself
having too much time to spend before another even happens, and you just want
time to pass. You'll find these old hermits in their houses. Once paying them
a visit, they can let the time pass from 1 to 8 hrs (the Disciples) or an
entire let 24 hours go by (the Dream Hermit) in a whim. Use wisely, as the lost
times can't be gotten back if you screw up.
9. Character interaction - As you move from location to location, you'll
sometimes find characters (male or female) there to interact with. Some will
say what they came to say when they see you and leave the scene. Some will stay
to chat. Move your Mouse Pointer to their Mouth(s) and you will see an Elf's
head indicating that you can converse
with him/her. Left Click to initiate your conversation.
10. Genki House - If you come to this place, which is right above your own,
you'll meet a kid in a teddy bear (I think) costume. She'll ask you whether
you want to see how much Love Points a certain character you've met(and know
the name of) have towards you for 500 Yens each time you ask. 15 is the highest
and usually means that you've got a Happy End with that character. However, just
because you have the highest points towards a character at some point, it doesn't
necessarily mean you are home-free with that girl as some events might still
occur and change that. Keep on your toes.
11. Fortune Teller - For a price, she'll tell you some events that are
currently surrounding you. Whether you find it useful is your decision.
12. Sometimes you'll run into a woman (forgot her name) in bondage in the middle
of the night in random places. If you do, she'll offer you a chance to ask her
some vital information about a certain female character you have encountered in
your adventure. She won't charge anything for her information, so why not?
13. Sometimes, if you want to scroll through the conversations (some are quite
lengthy), you can hold down the Ctrl Key on your Keyboard to fly through your
conversations. You can also hold down the Ctrl key as you are moving about in the
Streets to make your character Walk in high speed! But control yourself well,
sometimes messed up timing could let you enter places where you don't necessarily
want to go (yet)!
Well, that's the pretty much all the basic things you need to know about
the controls.

IV. Characters in the Game
-----------------------------------------
This section provides some basic information on some of the characters you could
run into during the course of the game.
Makoto Kondo (Yourself)* - Our hero, so to speak. 18 years old. Has a father who
is an archeologist travelling around the world and seldom at home, and mother
passed away when he was young. He is currently a care-free, third-year student
enrolled in the 88 High School (In Japan, high school only consists of three
years). Though he is not necessarily a problem student, his performance in school
has been somewhat plain and his lifestyle seem to have some trouble with certain
individuals. It is the beginning of Makoto's last Winter Break of High School.
Being the care-free person that he is, he hasn't decided what his career goals
would be after graduation. though he has many friends around him, Makoto just
can't help but feeling there is something missing in his life.
*Due to the high popularity of Dokyusei 2, it was later animated into a 12-episode
series by Pink Pineapple. Makoto Kondo is the main character of that story. Hence,
I used that name above for the sake of explanation. But unlike the game, he
actually has vocal lines and you can see him completely. I say that because in the
game itself, your character is nameless (until you've given him a name), no vocal
(in the Windows version) and your hair is always long enough and always in the
right place to cover the eyes as not to unveil your entire feature. I sometimes
use these names interchageably, so when you see me use Makoto, just know that I
am talking about your own character.
Misako Narusawa - A close friend of your father ever since their college days.
Was once married, but her husband passed away. When Makoto's mother died, she
offered to take care of young Makoto to which his father accepted. When she
moved in, she brought her daughter Yui along with her. The house they live in
is now converted into half residence and half coffee shop with Misako working
in the shop to earn a living to support the three of them.
Yui Narusawa - The daughter of Misako. She is the same age as Makoto. Yui,
along with her mother, moved in with Makoto when they were both 8 years old.
Though they are the same age, she prefers to call Makoto her "big brother."
As they grow older, them not being related by blood and living under one roof
is the topic/gossip/rumor of many people around.
Tomomi Mizuno - 18, Makoto's neighbor and good friend since childhood. Somewhat
of a cry baby. Her superb performance in both academic and sports made her
the class president (and likely valedictorian). But lately, she seem to
have some personal troubles around her and she is secretly crying for help.
Izumi Shinohara - 18, Daughter of the President of the Shinohara Industries.
She's the president of the 88 High School Archery Club. Also, good friends
with Makoto, Yui, and Tomomi. Though it seems that she and Makoto are
constantly getting on each others' nerves, they remain friends since childhood.
Mirei Katagiri - 25, a babe-class teacher in 88 High School. As luck would have
it, she's also the home room teacher of Makoto. A very wise and talented
individual who is always concerned about whehter Makoto has decided his future
(as he's the only that hasn't done so in the entire class).
Karen Maijima - 18, the star and idol of all the students in 88 High School
(Makoto is no exception). She has been in the show-biz ever since she was 8 and
has been quite successful. She is currently living by herself in a mansion a bit
away from where Makoto lives. But being a celebrity hasn't spoiled her any as
she is still kind and polite to everyone she sees. Lately, through certain
events, she started wondering if there would be any changes in her current life.
Yoko Minamikawa - 18, the only girl in school who owns a motorcycle. The
so-called bad girl as she can be seen joy riding around the neighborhood quite
often. Her father owns a motorcycle shop and she's also quite handy with
mechanic tools. Yoko is also an acquaintence of Makoto as they often quarrel
with one another (even more than Makoto does with Izumi). They are good friends,
nevertheless.
Minori Kato - 18, a virtually non-existent girl in Makoto's class who always
seem to wear big, nerdy glasses (the kinds you see that resembles a disc used
in hyptnosis). Doesn't seem to talk a lot, especially around guys. Wonder what
secrets lie beneath those glasses of hers?
Azumi Yasada - 21, a caretaker that works at the Kindergarten near Makoto's
house. She is really good with kids to the point where she sometimes sound
childish, but also has a side of her that is filled with motherly love.
Kozue Tsuzuki - 16, first-year student at 88 High School. A sometimes sweet
and sometimes an odd-ball type girl. Has a secret crush on a certain someone 2
years her senior, needless to say, it's Makoto.
Misato Nonomura - 21, a young and energetic woman who works as a tour guide for
the local travel agency. She was a former student at 88 High School as well and
was attracted to work for the travel agency because she likes the uniform the
tour guides wear. Currently, she's looking for some new excitements in life.
Hiroko Suzuki - A new, young, and attractive cashier who works at Seven Mart.
Many male students are attracted to the convinent store just to catch a glimpse
of her. She just ignores them. But there is something oddly familiar about
her....
Sachiko Nagashima - Widow and the 5th-generation owner of the Nagashima Resort
Hotel. Has an odd value of how a widow behaves. She wants her daughter Kumiko
to succede her in becoming the next owner of the hotel, but is constantly
worried about Kumiko's ideals.
Kumiko Nagashima - 18, the daughter and future heir of the Nagashima Resort Hotel.
She's your "country girl who hasn't seen the life in the big city" type of gal
who is always fascinated by the lime lights of the city life. She's always
looking for the opportunity to get out of the country and see the big city,
an ideal which is constantly objected and resented by Sachiko.
Sakurako Sugimoto - 18, had she been healthy, she would've been attending 88 High
School along with the other students her age. However, her illness kept her in
the hospital bed for nearly 3 years. Is there any chance for her to ever fly
out ofher cage?
Misa Tanaka* - 20, currently on a vacation trip to clear her thoughts about a
troubled relationship with her boyfriend. Her best friend Miho Suzuki, who
seems to live close by 88 City nowadays and offers to let Misa stay with her.
When she saw Makoto, she was stunned at how much he resembled her boyfriend.
*Misa Tanaka and Miho Suzuki were both characters in the first installment.
According to a past character poll in all of Japan, Misa was one of the fan
favorites, and hence, made her appearance in Dokyusei 2 to make the connection
between the first and second installment. It is rumored that she'll also be in
Dokyusei 3 (if that ever comes out).
Akira - 18, Best friend of Makoto at school. He is the President of the Judo
Club at 88 High School. Seems to be hooked on TV, but has been expressing some
interest at Yui.
Saionji Aritomo - 18, The rich, spoiled snob in Makoto's class who thinks
females find him irresistable and highly disapproves Makoto's living with Yui.
Makoto is not one to back down from his constant annoyances though. More
likeable in the anime.
Yoshiki Nagaoka - 18, A fat, twisted, and perverted classmate of Makoto.
He's the "only" member of 88 High School's Photography Club. He's frequently
seen taking pictures of girls' locker/dressing rooms and selling the pictures
he took for a profit. Makoto sometimes pulls fat jokes on this guy and brush
him off as a non-threat. However, Yoshiki now seems to be onto something that's
quite important to people around Makoto. Much more likeable in the anime.
Tendo Shingansen - 88 High School's PE teacher who always seems to have a bone
to pick with Makoto no matter what he does. One of the promises he made with
Makoto is that if he's late for class even once during the few days prior to
Winter Break, Makoto will have to go to school every morning during the break
to work out and train with him. But sometimes Tendo will still try to distract
Makoto in some way for him to be tardy. Fortunately, Makoto didn't fall into his
trap.
Karen's Manager - A rigid, biased woman who manages Karen's career. Always
trying to pamper Karen into someone who is too good to be among "commoners."

V. Individual Walkthroughs

NOTE: This is the Start of the Walkthroughs for all the individual Female
Characters in the game. There are 15 of them. These are not listed in any
particular order, so you can start with any one. The actual game play starts
after the Prologue on 8AM 12-22 and lasts until 11:45 PM on 1-6. 8AM on 1-7 is
the start of the Epilogue (i.e. seeing if all your hard work up to this point
have been paying off) and you are basically seeing yourself going to class like
normal, but there aren't any major things for you to do here than just letting
the story play itself out. Also, it is possible to "be-friend" more than one
female character, but at the end, you can share a Happy End with only one
character (though sometimes other female characters do make appearances in
another's ending). So choose carefully. Sometimes, when you have multiple female
characters that you've satisfied the requirements with, chances are, you are
going to have to make some rejections (or there are some event-based forced
acceptions/rejections). That, is one heart-breaking experience (I have been
there, and it's not pretty). Finally, do note that this is a game that has
adult-oriented situations, so the part marked with H (Hentai) means there are
adult-related materials involved.

There is a family of 10 brothers (all look alike) who live in 10 different
houses scattered around 88 City. If you visit them during a certain time in
the day (7PM - 6AM), they will each challenge you by asking you a multiple
choice question based on the events in the story. If you get it right, the
eldest brother will give you 1000 Yens as your reward, the 2nd eldest will
give you 2000 Yens, and so on. But in addition to giving you some dough,
they'll also provide you hints on where to go to catch some extra CGs that are
not related to the story. If you go to the correct place during a certain
specified time after the hint is given out, you'll see the CGs with some funny
dialogues (once). However, you get to store the CGs in the computer in your

go to all the brothers in one night expecting to get money from all of them!
Some of them won't ask their questions until you have triggered a certain event.
Also, they will move away whether you get their question right or wrong when
you first accepted their challenge.

VII. How to get the Diary Books
-----------------------------------------
As I have explained before. This game features a unique Save/Load Game feature.
You are allowed to Save your progress in a Diary Book during the Prologue
(sometimes) and that Slot becomes inactive once you get into the Main Story.
As you are playing for the very first time, you'll have only one Diary Book. But
once you've triggered certain events, you'll receive more Diary Books for you
to Save to/Load from. Here's thing, once you get a Diary Book a certain way, the
next time you run the game through the same way (i.e. going through the same
person's Walkthrough, you won't get another Diary Book that way ever again as
that Save Slot has now being activated. So unless you choose to reset the game
and start from scratch or uninstall/reinstall the game, the Diary Books you've
gotten will be saved in progress. Any way, here's how to get all the Diary Books
(you don't have to get them in any particular order):
1. You start with this one.
2. The Dream Hermit has this one, when you visit him, he'll ask you to return a
book he has borrowed to the Fortune Teller. Once you did that, return to the
Dream Hermit's House and he'll give you a Diary Book.
3. Sometimes during the day on 12-22 to 12-23, go to the Kisaragi Train Station
and Yui will give you a Diary Book.
4. After saving the kid in front of the Kindergarten, Azumi will give you a Diary
Book when you go to the 88 Train Station sometimes in the morning around 9AM
any day after the rescue.
5. Follow Karen Maijima's Walkthrough. After going to the singing performance
Karen invited you to, you'll receive a Diary Book as a souvenir from the TV
Studio.
Here's the thing, say that once you've gotten a Diary Book using step number 5.
The Next time when you decide to run through Karen's Walkthrough again, you'll
receive some canned food (no actual usage) in place of the Diary Book.

VIII. Multi-Walkthrough Possibility Chart

Here is a chart indicating whether you'll run into any conflicts if you decide
to going through multiple characters' Walkthroughs at once (for speedy reasons).
Personally, I like to go after only one girl each time I play (that means I went
through the game at least 15 times), but you can do whatever you want as long as
their schedules don't conflict. My friend John's record is satisfying the
requirements for 8 girls at once. Keep in mind you can are still tied down to
one character at the end even if you do this.

XI. The Hot Springs Trip Trigger
-----------------------------------------
The Hot Springs (Onsen) Trip to the Nagashima Hotel is a vital part of a few
of the girls' Walkthroughs. The way to trigger it is basically follow a portion
of Yoko's Walkthrough. In case it wasn't clear above, here it is:
12-22 8AM Behind the Gym Talk to Yoko, who thought you are just
bumming around doing nothing
10AM Yoko's House Yoko is with the motorcycle her father
bought her
Akira's House Akira is beginning to take interest in
girls
88 Park Yoko is riding her motorcycle

88 Park Akira confessed that he likes Yoko
Once you go through the events described above, and nothing more in Yoko's
Walkthrough, on 12-28, when you go back to your room from 10AM - 9PM, Akira
will give you a call telling you that he has won a Vacation Trip for 4 and
asking you come along with him (what a pal, huh?). If you agree with him,
he'll decide to take Yoko along while leaving you with your own choice on who
to take with you. Though you will get a list of the girls you have encountered
throughout your adventure, your real choices are only 3 girls: Yui, Izumi,
or Tomomi.
Notes:
- If you are going after Yoko, don't trigger the Hot Springs Trip, that is,
proceed all the way through Yoko's Walkthrough.
- You can invite Yui along, Misato's Walkthrough depends on this, actually.
- You can invite Tomomi along, but only if you are not going after her.
Because if you are, her attitude is going to completely change after the trip.
- You can invite Izumi along, but only after you've taken her to the movies
on the 28th. The conditional acceptence, so to speak. Keep in mind you'd have
to invite the other two if you are going after Sachiko.

X. Miscellaneous Information / Tidbits
-----------------------------------------
1. Some events in the Walkthrough described above happen on specific time/date(s)
and some of them are not (for example, say if you haven't ran into Yoko all
Winter Break, you can still trigger her first event on her walkthrough a few days
before school starts). Sometimes if you don't see the events occur, keep getting
out and go back into that specific place as some other events may have precedence
over the one you are looking for. So the above is more of a "suggested" Time
table for each of the individuals.
2. Concerning the Events happening on 1-7. If you have satisfied requirements with
certain female characters, they'll confess their love for you automatically by
leaving a note in your shoe box asking you to meet her in a specific place after
school and the events will play itself out. But some confessions will have to be
done by yourself. When this happens, you'll go home after the ceremony but is
feeling troubled inside in thinking that there's someone you have a strong feeling
about. A list will pop up for you to pick that Special Someone to automatically
proceed to the place where that person is. Don't pick the wrong one! You'll feel
really bad when you are rejected and the person laughing in your face or even they
letting you down gently. But this isn't as bad as you having to reject someone.
3. Warning! If you've satisfied Yoko's conditions along with those of some other
female characters, you can pretty much kiss the other girls good bye as Yoko's
Happy End is one of those "Forced Acception" cases.
4. Though it is a needed step in Tomomi's Walkthrough, the actions you perform and
the things you say in your Dream about her has no bearing on others' opinion of
you. The things you see in the dream are actually quite funny.
5. There are some places where you'll be locked in if you don't leave that place
at a certain time. If you enter your school building and didn't get out before 6PM,
you'll be locked in until it opens back up again 8AM the next day. The Train
between 88 City and Kisaragi Station ceases operation from midnight to 6AM, so if
you are looking to go to one or the other city at that time, you are out of luck.
Keep this in mind as you are making your planning.
6. If you are short on money, or just have nothing else to do, you can proceed to
Kisaragi City and head to the Construction Site. The Foreman there will allow you
to work for him for 800 Yens an hour. If you go there quite a bit, it will
eventually raise to 1000 Yens an hour. Keep in mind once you get to a certain
amount of money, you won't be able to work there any more.
7. There are 3 places in 88 City (as far as I know) where you can actually
"Speak" to the trees or bushes and they will talk back:
a. Inspect the low bush in the left in the 88 Tennis Court about twice and it
will tell you how to get all the Diary Books in the whole game
b. It is possible to talk to the tree in the Kindergarten, talk to it about 3
times and it will tell you the trail that Kozue follows on 12-31 after you did
something bad to her.
c. Inspect the trees right next to the Apartment about 3 times and they will
reveal information about ELF's Dragon Knight 4. *This feature was later taken
out in the Windows version of the game as Dragon Knight 4 had already been
released by the time the Windows version showed up*
8. When running through Azumi Yasada's Walkthrough the first time, her Love Point
you will be 15 and she will confess her love for you at the end. But when trying
for the second time, that number changes to 14 and you will have to confess your
love for her yourself. This is probably due to the fact that the number
increased by 1 when she gives you a Diary Book. Since running through her
solution again won't net you another book, I suppose her confessing to you only
works once. I think this was changed in the Windows version of the game to the
point where you have to be the one doing the confession at the end even if you
are going through her Walkthrough for the first time. But, it really doesn't
matter as the results are the same.
9. During the first H scene with Yoko, when you click on Yoko's long hair, she
will ask you if you like or dislike long hair, if you select that you do not
like long hair, she will cut her hair short to meet you when school starts on
1-7.
10. For Sachiko's Walkthrough, a feeling of 13 Love Points from her should be
enough for her to accept your confession. If you need an extra crutch just to
be sure, telling her that Kumiko might be going back with her as well as going
to the Station Hotel and her telling you that Kumiko called her on 1-4 (these
are events in Kumiko's Walkthrough) should increase the Love Points to 15.
11. On your date with Minori, you will head on to the Kisaragi Temple, one of
the events is to decide whether to put down 100 Yens or 500 Yens to make a
wish. These wishes actually do something. If you use 100 Yens and select a
girl's name that girl's Love Points towards you will increase by 1 and if you
put generously put down 500 Yens, that number will increase by 2. It is
possible to get Izumi Shinohara to confess her love for you even if you do not
trigger the Hot Springs Trip, just follow her Walkthrough. Treat her to ice
cream, talk to her whenever possible, take her to the movie, praise how pretty
she looks in her kimono on New Years Day, etc. By using the wish, you can
actually get her Love Points towards you up to 15 and on the school day, you
will receive the letter from her asking you to meet her after school at the
Archery Range, there she will confess her love for you. The only bad thing
about this one is that you don't get to know her better because you didn't
go on the trip.
12. Once you've gone through the game at least once with a Happy End with any
character, a feature on the title page called: "Girl Room" will be activated.
This allows you to go back in and perform a review of the scenes/speeches of
any of the characters you have gotten a Happy Ending with. Every time you get
a new girl's Happy End, your "memories" of her will be here. Sort of like the
Gallery feature of many of the games out there now.
13. A difference between the DOS and the Windows 95 version is that the Windows
95 version actually has a side story included. The side story option will be
activated when you got at least one Happy End in the main story. The side story
talks about a former student at 88 High School named Sanshiro. Sanshiro is now
a college student and is revisiting 88 City. Here, he manages to meet and fall
in love with Saionji's tutor, Miyuki. The side story is actually allowing you to
play the role of Sanshiro and viewing the events of Makoto, Yui, and the others
in a third person view. A very interesting and amazing experience.

XI. FAQ Writer's Notes

The first time I have played this great game (DOS) was the summer of 1998 thanks
to a resourceful friend. I immediately fell in love with the game and would play
it over and over again. There are several great things about this game, the
drawing (despite using only minimal set of colors) is superb, the characters are
adorable as well as memorable (my personal favorite being Izumi Shinohara), the
story line is also good, short and well thought out, and the music is giving the
game a great touch. Unfortunately, after installing a new Sound Blaster AWE 64
Sound Card to my computer, the music no longer works well, made me very, very
upset for a while. After doing some research, it turns the game music/sound is
only compatible with older soundcards with a specific driver. So, I felt better
now that I know I am not the only one with this problem. Even though I can't
understand Japanese, I've made it a goal that I will try to get the Windows 95
version of the game. It was about a year ago (2001) that I finally got my wish
and played it. There were some compatability issues at first that caused me quite
some scare, grief, and frustration. But I did finally got to load the game and
played it with the help of some friends. The experience was TRUELY AMAZING! It
was old memories all coming back together, but better! The game now utilizes 256
colors as the characters are now bigger and more colorful. The game comes in 2
CDs and being on CD-ROM means that it's using Audio Tracks instead of the
original FM Audio (which I can't complain about). Also, perhaps what I love
about this the most is the seiyuu or voice acting of all the characters (with
the exception of your own character) that appear in the game. It just made me
fell in love with the characters all over again. The whole thing was just such
a special experience to the point I think I literally shed some tears of joy as
I am going through it.
The reason why I wrote this walkthrough is because of a few friends I met online
who also loves Dokyusei 2 as much or even more so than I am. But most of the
sites I came across have only Chinese or Japanese versions of the Walkthroughs,
except for Winston Avalon's Nanpa 2 Page, which had an English version. I decide
to write a English Guide as best and as complete as I could. So hence, this
project started way back in 1999 and is now just nearing completion. I rather
enjoyedtranslating this Walkthrough into English for anyone that might needs it.
