1. Don't send me any questions about the bosses, the walkthrough, or even about
what I had for my last breakfast. This guide is all I can do for this gaming
community. If you have any questions, simply ask for it in the message board
on GameFAQs.com, and there should be a whole load of people willing to help.
I WILL IGNORE ANY QUESTIONS, so please don't bother to do so. Further threat
I receive might compel me to kill this FAQ. So, for the last time, don't.
2. This guide will be updated solely in GameFAQs.com. If you have my permission
in distributing this guide, please be aware of this. I'm lazy having to send
my FAQs in some unknown ways and environs, so just do not ask for permission
if you dislike my habit.
3. Spoilers absolutely exist here. Read on your own risk for I don't wanna hear
any of you whining, "Crap, what kind of wuss dares to mention such IMPORTANT
event to a brilliant gamer like ME?! I HATE U!!" or stuff.
4. I'm an Indonesian. If you have any complaint about bad grammars, stupid pun,
lame asides, and vewy meager taste, please refer to the first sentence. Me
no live up your high standard, mishter!

News: From now on, I'm planning to update this FAQ in a monthly basis-- expect
to see new updates between the 20th - 25th of each month. This is due to
the very lack of time and connection I have nowadays. In fact, this goes
actually to knock some responsibility in my head, what with my very few
time dedicated for Digimon World 3 and such. Me hope you understand.
Ohkay? Look at the bright side! At least, now you can be SURE just
how long, EXACTLY, should you wait until you see new content! Right?
This Update:
------------
Version 0.2 August 22, 2002
- Walkthrough status: Very little addition, after the meeting with Lucky Mouse.
- Cleaning up the early mistake on Petrify status explanation.
- Added the side-effect point at the Training section. Y'know, the one I left
unedited in previous update.
- Realized the fact that Tamer Andy doesn't ALWAYS drop you a Counter Crest,
and did some updates to the corresponding section on the walkthrough.
- Added the point in which you need to talk to the Gatomon in the Swamp Inn
before meeting the Sepikmon. Possibly important for those missed the
paragraph four on section <2.4. General Tips> but anyway. Big thanks to
"Blah Blah" for letting me know how I've been so stupid before.
- Added the stuff to the Mobius Desert Map. Perhaps, can't remember.
- Did some spell-checking and rewriting. The sort of thing that'd haunt
inside your mind from time to time for making a FAQ out in a language you
didn't grow up with.
- Added the Digivolution section. Hooray for things Pokemon can't provide.
- Corrected the Booster--a explanation.
- Also somehow rewrote the About DMW 3 section. Ah, tastefulness.

1.1. About Digimon World 3
--------------------------
Platform : Sony PlayStation
Genre : RPG
Publisher : Bandai
NA version : Available / 2002
Save game : Available / 4 blocks each
DualShock : Unknown
Player : 1
Digimon 3. One thing they never let go in a Digimon game is that it ALWAYS
has something to do with hundred hours of playing and such. Okay, that
actually applies in ANY game labeled with "monsters", but that's not my
point. What I want to say is that, hey, they managed to get rid of the
breeding and 999999-darned exp to next level "features", yet Digimon World 3
just here again for another excuse in wasting a solid school holiday or
something.
It's now a pure RPG, right, but that makes the game very similar to Pokemon
even to the most ridiculously unexpected thing, like battling digimon you
fish out of the water. Yet, surprisingly you could still have fun from DW3.
Like, over all they provide, the background graphics looked very bold,
colorful, detailed, and sometimes surrealistic (the zipper on Phoenix Bay,
f'instance). I guess that's why they called it Digimon WORLD; because that's
what they want to emphasize and not the battle. I know this is cruel but the
battle graphics give enough shame to the game; I thought first-generation
PlayStation games looked better than this. Worse is, they don't even animate
the background. And, uh, palette-swapped magics? Blue light is water and red
light is fire? Sure. And here I am thinking the last thing I could tolerate
from all developers' laziness (read: effort to get some more break-time) was
that Gato-replica I have to fight inside the Ocean Palace.
Anyhoo, The gameplay goes more easier than the predecessors: all it takes
for DNA Digivolution and such is only some mere MP, and you can have
multiple Digivolution at once. There also this reverse-digivolution, like
even if you have Angemon, you could still turn your Digimon to Patamon at
no cost. Fun, albeit tiresome.
That's it, my whole crap about the game. Obviously make me sound like I'm a
gushing Bandai commercial employee, but I suppose you're bored enough to
convince yourself about this. So I'll stop.
1.2. About this FAQ
-------------------
At first I don't really have the mean in writing a FAQ. Some people might
target their works to be the most comprehensive guide, to be perfect and
so, but I can't seem to think that far. I just wrote the FAQ and that's
all. Whatever your way to appreciate it, it's all yours. If this FAQ ranks
way below comprehensiveness, it's because I never really aim for comprehen-
siveness. If you think this FAQ rocks, wow, consider yourself a very kind
reader or something. And--
Oh. You're sleeping.
1.3. About anything else I see fits...
--------------------------------------
About the walkthrough. Since the characters movement in the game do not
follow through the usual North-South-East-West directions that is:
PERSPECTIVE A PERSPECTIVE B
N W N
| \ /
| \/
W-----|---- E but rather, /\
| / \
| S E
S
[Common RPGs] [Digimon World 3]
it will be kind of confusing to use the Common RPG's direction. So, take a
little look at the standard I made for the walkthrough. It's basically
goes like this, if I said go "NORTH" or "N" in the walkthrough, then it
means you need to go where the "N" is on that "Digimon World 3" perspective.
The B one. NOT literally the north you have in common. And so forth. I hope
it's simple enough to understand :)

2. The Gameplay
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
2.1. Basic
2.1.1. Battle
Battling in Digimon World 3 is quite self-explanatory. You have a one-on-one
fight much like in Thousand Arms, but no support might be done by outside-
battle digimon. During the turn-based system your digimon might choose the
usual menu: attack, tech, DV, tag, item, or run.
The game didn't have a built-in cursor memory like in FF series, and the
default always point to the attack option. This is important if you're a lazy
gamer (like me) who just want to use the strongest tech to beat enemies; No,
the cursor in the next turn doesn't automatically point to your last act, so
if you just rush the X button you'll ended up doing normal attack instead.
The tag option have two different result: normal digimon switch or
DNA-digivolve switch. Normal digimon switch lets you swap digimon. In contrary
to the same feature in Pokemon, your incoming digimon will have a full-turn
once it appears since the switch won't count as a turn. DNA-digivolve can
only be done with certain digimon: it's some kind of special attack done
by combining two digimon into a new stronger one that will then release a
single special blast before the next digimon goes in. This feature costs MP,
and the only way you see which digimon is compatible with which is by the
red-orb thing on the name of the digimon you're about to switch with.
The run option doesn't always work, of course. Enemies may occasionally try
to do the same thing, and even more rarely they might also refrain from trying
to flee and instead will again try to attack you.
The exp sharing system goes a bit different than Pokemon. All the exp gained
are shared at exactly same amount for each digimon appear in battle. Regardless
of what the digimon was doing during the battle: you can just place your
Kotemon in front and then switch it with Kumamon to battle the enemy with all
pain and troubles, but both of them will receive the (unfair) share of prize,
like the same n exp for all. Still helpful when raising a low-leveled digimon.
2.1.2. Training
Training is important just like its name; each level you gain for your digimon
rewards you 5 Training Points (TP). The TP can only be used in Training gyms
(refer to section 6.8.2. Gym List for location details). You can train the
five compulsory stats and also tolerances but no, you cannot train Charisma.
Each training session consisted of three tries, with one bonus try if all the
previous tries were done well. The more TP you use for a session will earn
more stat addition, but then again if your digimon failed you'll also lost
a lot of stats. I personally went with 1 TP per session; it's tiring but so
does any other features in this game, there's nothing we can do but to let it
slide.
Aside from the according stat increment, Tolerances training might also have
"side effects". Here are some:
Fire : MP up
Ice : Speed down
Wind : Strength down
Thunder : Wisdom down
Dark : Spirit down
Machine : HP up
2.1.3. Status Effects
Note that all of these effects are automatically healed after the battle ends.
Yes, even the KO one. Like in Chrono series, your digimon will then have 1 HP
left so you don't need to use items to wake it up.
SLEEP : Like you all know, sleeping will cause your digimon to lost around
1-5 turns doing nothing. Being attacked didn't wake your digimon,
and while sleeping your only choice is to use curative item, switch
digimon or fleeing. Surprisingly, your digimon may still be able to
evade attacks while sleeping, which is kind of weird thinking why
it didn't use that ability to leap in front and smash the enemy
instead.
CONFUSE : This is sort of the enhancement of your old Confuse state in other
game. Instead of randomly attacking / casting spells, the act menu
will still be there, but the attack-tech-tag-etc options will be
replaced with funny things like "Confess", "Boast", "Laugh",
"Leaving", "Seduct", "Dance" and "Mad". Choosing the funny menu leads
to two possibilities: doing normal attack or ludicrous acts according
to the option. I once had my Metal Mamemon "Confessing: I love sweet
things" and my WarGrowlmon went "Leaving: I'm going out of this
place!" yet doing nothing more. Note that the background music also
changed into a goofy one. This effect is nullified after one or two
turns.
POISON : Poison in monsters game are always evil. Albeit not as deadly as
in Pokemon Trading Cards, this also saps your HP per turn, apparently
regardless of defense. It can be nullified with Antidote Disk.
PETRIFY : Petrify here is simply losing turns. The effect is gone after some
(FROZEN) turns, of course, or by using Revive Disk. Also known as FROZEN.
Once in a while, you can have a full, common turn even when during
a FROZEN status--but keep in mind that it doesn't mean the status
is gone and you will still lost most of the next turns. If you need
to, use the free turn to heal the status. The length of the FROZEN
state seems to depend on the digimon that cause it.
KO : Why, you lost all the HP of course. If all your digimon are KO'ed,
you're called "annihilated" and game's over.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
2.2. Digivolution (DV)
2.2.1. Normal Digivolution
Digimon World 3 plays a bit different way in Digivolving your matey. DV are
simply acquired by level. For your plain digimon partner here's how:
- Lv. 5 : Champion
- Lv. 20 : Ultimate
- Lv. 40 : Mega
These digivolution are, like, how your digimon actually has to be. Like from
Veemon to X-Veemon and not to something like Angemon. It's the "correct" line.
However, further leveling to the Digivolved digimon will spawn more DVs. Say,
an Angemon at level 20 will open the DV to the Metal Mamemon. And this is the
key to the multiple DVs we're going to talk about.
You have three free slots for each of your Digimon to carry their opened DVs,
that is shown by the end of the battle during the "gained exps" screen.
Further to the game you will get more than such three DVs, and you will need
to go to Digimon Lab or talk to Piximon to change which DVs you want and which
to leave.
Oh, and special to this game, Digivolution is reversible. You can switch back
from Angemon to Patamon to Angemon again. Digivolution also works as you want
it: You can digivolve Patamon right to MagnaAngemon (or, say, from Rookie to
Ultimate) despite as you see in the TV or as you played in previous DWs you
need to go through Angemon first. And yes, you can actually use the three
free slots for three Mega digimon.
However, you need to use the DV form in battle to gain it some exp. If you
just use Veemon, your poor X-Veemon will never grow up. If you switch DVs
during the battle, the exp will be shared for all the DVs appear in battle.
2.2.1. DNA Digivolution
Very fortunate for us the DNA Digivolution here no longer involves something
like "infinite exp to next level". Today the DNA Digivolution is done in
battle, in which you are basically want to switch your digimon, yet apparently
both the digimon to be switched have some DNA compability that allows them to
fuse themselves into one special digimon. That digimon then blasts a single
shot towards the enemy. The DNA Digivolution ends, and the digimon switch goes
on the way.
Of course me and my words make it sounds so silly, but it actually is a nice
feature. It's like the Dual Tech in CT or that-similie-what's-its-name from
Suikoden. There are very few digimon who could DNA-DV with others, of course,
you could see the compability sign from the TAG menu on battle screen. It is
shown by some red orb on the name of the compatible digimon. So go cheers if
you manage to find some.
Or heck, you may just want to check the DNA Digivolution list here:
1. Grizzmon + Growlmon : BladeGarurumon
2. X-Veemon + Stingmon : Paildramon
<not yet a complete list, kupo!>
The downside: DNA Digivolution costs you some MP, and the DNA-DV form only
appears once, Eidolon-like, and then leaves. It also works within the regard
of elemental tolerances; so if the DNA-DV only scratches some wee damage on
your enemy, perhaps it's because the enemy has the unfortunate high tolerance
on the elemental attack done by your DNA-DV.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
2.3. Card Game
Soon to be added once I have good enough cards to begin with :)
This should be obvious but you can always refer to some Card Game FAQs for your
trading card questions.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
2.4. General Tips
Save often. It still goes without saying: when your electricity went crazy,
or when the CD refuses to spin, your one and only resort is your saved data.
If the last time you saved was, like, 10 hours ago, that would be a very nice
experience you might celebrate it by smacking your head on the wall. No good.
Heal often. Especially in the beginning of the game, you might need to go
to the inn after EXACTLY one battle, but then again it's the only way to
survive and you need to do so. Your digimon that fainted during a battle
will be revived automatically and regains 1 HP (much like Chrono Cross)
afterwards, but you might coincidentally bring it back to a battle again
before healing it. Which basically makes all its revival (and your game
time) worthless.
Keep track on important items. Healing spells sometimes work better than
items, but when you're far far away from Inn and all your MP are depleted,
you're dead meat unless there are many useful things inside your bag. HP,
MP and status curative items are the most thing you need to stock, although
many different items might also be useful if you know how to use them.
Talk to people: Twice if you're in city, or once if you're not ready for
battle. Most tamers will challenge you during their second speech (that is,
if you talk to him/her twice), and you can never reject it. To the contrary,
you may want to talk with the townspeople as much as you want; every single
character has their own part to build the storyline better, and that's what
makes the beauty of an RPG. If such thing ever existed, of course.
Use Counter Crest as a last resort in battle. Counter Crest is this magical
gadget which always get your digimon to do the same damage it took from the
enemy. In a counter attack. The damage could also go higher if you equip
certain accesories, but rarely the enemy could still evade the counter. The
only downside is that most people consider this a cheat: sort of like using
one-two trick in Winning Eleven 2000 is a "public cheating". If you're the
sort of gamer who took pride in your game, avoid this item. For the rest,
use it freely, but just don't abuse it to keep the challenge of the game
alive.

This is it, the spoiler forest. The fruit is abundant here and there. If you
just so happen to hate it, but for some reason you feel the need to read game
guides like this, please grow a little common sense and refer to a spoiler-free
walkthrough instead.
And now, the beginning of your Digimon adventure. To better understand this
walkthrough, familiarize yourself with things like this, which will occur from
time to time:

It's the beginning of the game, and there's nothing you could do but to let the
story rolls. Junior, the protagonist, is waiting for his fellows, which are in-
side the building registering their digimon or stuff. Then a news breakout will
occur. It's about the A.o.A, a group of criminal hackers (or something) who use
Digimon for their evil deed. Latest news said that most of the leader have been
seized from their H.Q. in Europe.
Junior is like a 10-years old or something, so a "Digimon-armed thieves" should
shout "I'm awesome!" loudly to his mind. However, as the protagonist he mustn't
let people know that he admires his rival. Hmmm, his soon rival.
Wild guesses here, but this is videogame. Hello? They didn't mention bandits
for no purpose, right?
Anyway. Finally, Ivy and Teddy get the Login Pass needed to join the game. So
off they go for their new digital experience. Inside the Magami Online Center,
you will find the MATRIX SYSTEM. With it, you can transfer your ideas right
into the network, and, uh, do whatever you can do with that.
You will then meet the DO (stands for Digimon Online) Navis. The game says
"clerk", but trust me it's "Navi". They'll ask you to register your online
name, and to choose your Starter Pack:
A) Balanced Pack / Kotemon / Renamon / Patamon /
This is the most balanced party with attacker, healer, and magic. As always,
if you're new to the RPG or you want some easy start, choose this.
B) Powerful Pack / Monmon / Agumon / Renamon /
Explosive strength! You'll have huge physical advantages, but you can't do
magic healing. Hey, who needs magic if enemies will out in a single blow?
Choose this if your brain follows along that line above. Not that I'm saying
you're like a Troll, though. Honest.
C) Maniac Pack / Kumamon / Guilmon / Patamon /
Properly speaking, Kumamon is quite strong but needs a lot of EXP to grow
up. Patamon is a good magic user, and is the only one in team who is good.
Guilmon starts in an absolute low stats, and probably is the weakest. But
he'll be better if you manage to give him the training he desperately need.
I personally went with the latter option, you know, because it says "Maniac"
on the label. I don't think any choice is better than the other, though. Once
you grow them properly, they all will be just as strong. And yes, later you'll
be able to get all the available Digimon, so you can rest assured. Follow my
choice if you just want to finish the game with full aide of this guide.

Front Desk and the Admin Center next to the desk, but you'll get nothing from
there anyway. In the end, you just have to download your Digimon. Oh, and you
can ask all the Navis for some basic explanation about playing Digimon Online.
Your friends, Ivy (who is now Kail) and Teddy (who is now, yet, Teddy) will
appear and all of you will decide to split-up. Now, with your Digimon, you will
get your way out of the building, into the rough world. But uh, apparently not

Uh, so his name isn't Mr. Tutorial. Anyway, he will then talk about Lab and the

Navis and Dr. Kadomatsu about some additional things there. Once you're done,
use the door to the south.
You can also use the door near the Navis, it will bring you back to the recep-
tionist desk. There's nothing fancy there. People will say some slightly
different things, and your friends are still there despite you all have been
deciding to split-up and stuff. Talk about some trusted comrades, eh?
If you're following my first advice, that is using the south door, you'll be a
little bit east from the old man. Wander around the city a little, and talk

Now, please note that the HP of the Digimon you use after that tutorial battle
will remain, so if you think it is too risky, go sleep in the inn. To save your
game, you will need to find the Guardmon. Like Lucca's Gato from CT, the
Guardmon also colored brown-red and he also has this Toriyama Akira's mech
style. The only reason why he didn't use the name GATOmon is because that cat
that owns the inn already uses the name. He won't sing a song offering you to
beat him, though, instead you can make full use of his MATRIX DRIVE and save.
After you save your game, go down the ladder and enter the east door.
Next, follow the way to the northeast, down the ladder, and into the door. You
will be inside the Asuka Sewer, in which you could find an item box containing
a nice 300 bits. You'll then wonder if they're just to shy to give you your
allowance directly back then in Magami Online. Anyway, back to the junction.
Now, choose the west way and enter the door in the end. Surprisingly, you will
be in the other side of the city, where everybody is just about as lively
despite they seem not knowing the way out of the town. Under the tree, you can
find this old couple who wanted to be Digimon but don't know how. Hmmm, maybe
I'm kind of wrong about that lively part after all.

All you need to better understand the Card Battle is by experiencing it, and
you will soon. Just be patient first.
Now, out of the shop and get back out of the Inn. You may want to stock up
items. The only thing you need right now is the Power Charge, but if you don't
want to buy anything (like me) then don't. After all things done, move outside

You will be on some kind of bridge. This bridge connects the city with the

4.1.2. The park that leads to adventure!

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Ha, adventure. Very close to the bridge you're coming from, you'll find the
training gym led by Leomon. You need TP as training cost, that could be
obtained via leveling-up. Which you haven't, so pass it as of yet. Now wander
around a little, and find your random battles.
You might battle either Kunemon or Tapirmon. Depends on your Digimon, it will
take around two-three hits to beat them. Monmon or Kumamon will be strong
enough to endure the two round, while Patamon might just use its magic, Boom
Bubble (and you should, it's the ONLY thing worthy from Patamon). Guilmon /
Renamon, however, should NEVER be used, they will be dead anyway.
You just need a mere 10 exps to go to level 2, which could be gotten by beating
anything there twice. Your biggest problem actually is that, without Power
Charge to refill your Digimon's HP, you might never win twice in a row. So, to
make around this, let your first Digimon (the one win against Tamer Genji) to
get its first level-up. Then train it. Refer to Training section.
Then, let the other Digimon (no, NOT Renamon/Guilmon) to be the leader. Use
the SORT option in your menu to do so. Then, fight another battle. You will
most likely ended-up with a very low HP. It's okay, back to the Inn, have some
sleep and save your game.
Now here's the basic thing you need to do. Aside from the weakest thing in your
team (Renamon and Guilmon), have the other at level two. If you're following my
strategy above, it means you only need one more battle for your leader. Repeat
the work until everyone, excluding Rena/Guil, is at level three.
And after that, you may begin training for your hapless lv.1 Rena/Guil.
A LITTLE WORK: How to get level-up for Renamon / Guilmon? They're so weak!
You will need to use the infamous strategy from Pokemon, "Bait and Switch". The
moral of this thing is that whoever joins the battle gets its fair share of exp
whatever its contribution was for the battle. So you will need to put Rena/Guil
as the leader. In the beginning of ANY battle, quickly choose TAG and replace
them with the other Digimon (which should be at lv.3). Let the stronger win the
game. Keep doing this and eventually Rena/Guil will have the 2nd level.
To ease your job, here's a little pattern. Just concentrate on the others'
level before working at Guil/Rena. Make sure the others' level stay two levels
higher from the level of Guil/Rena. That is:
- Make sure the others have Lvl.3 before you let a lvl.1 Guil/Rena fight.
- And thus, for those who are somehow even worse at math than me, the others
should be at level 4 before you let a lvl.2 Guil/Rena fight.
Do not roam around too far from the training gym, for your own safety. And
make sure you train your digimon everytime they're leveled-up. With patience,
some frequent visit to the training gym and the Inn, you will have two
level 5 digimon and one at level 4.
You will have the very first DIGIVOLUTION at level 5, which will ease your
journey later on. If your Rena/Guil is still at level 4, then work a little
more to get their evolution. Complete all the Digivolution, my dear apprentice,
and then I'll let you leave this tiny park, off to the real world.
But eh, here's a little prize. Go to the west side of the park, to the way
uphill. You will then see a ladder to your right, to the place that is the
upper portion of the training gym. Follow it to find a free Power Charge.
Now, since you're already there, off the ladder and west to the Plug Cape.

lost his Gabumon card. Since this is an RPG, he will stay whining there forever
unless YOU do something despite your not knowing anything about him and stuff.
He will also mention that he lost it in the Asuka Inn. So go back to there.
Since this IS an RPG, what people said is always correct unless they wore
bandit suits.
Inside the inn, go down the ladder, check the corner near the lady, and you
will find the card. Bring it to the kid. He will then talk something more
about cards, Kicking Boots, and Veemon at Wind Prairie.
Now get out of this area. If you go a little to west, you'll get a random
battle with Coelamon, which still relatively a bit stronger than your digimon.
And if you really DARE yourself to climb up the cape, you'll meet the
Triceramon. You can tell it's really strong because it is a triceratops
standing ONLY on his back legs, and because it kills your Digimon so fast you
don't know what have happened. So avoid this place. However, 40 exp is for
you if you beat him.

But then again, what is more important: some mere badge quest that _somehow_

## MINI-GAME: Find Veemon! ##
NOTES:
- DO NOT get out of the forest. Unlike in normal map, you WILL NOT get that
"GOING THERE" icon if you're near a path leads outside; you will just SLIDE
outside without realizing. Oh, yeah, I've experienced it.
- Random battle still exists. Might want to prepare your team and stuff.
The most fun part about this is that you do not have ANY clue whatsoever. No
shadow, no visible part of Veemon, nothing. You just need to randomly press X
behind any trees there. Because, you know, nothing is there to be used as a
hiding place but but the trees.
Oh, and you don't need to go as far as climbing any ladders. Veemon is not
there. And while you are searching, you may want to find Agumon instead.
Find the East Station building, DO NOT get in (I don't know whether it counts
for leaving the area or not), yet examine the row of trees in front of it. This
has nothing to do with the game, but the Agumon will show himself, giving you
nothing more than "thank you Junior, but princess Veemon is in another tree!"
Nice.
..
Frustrated yet? Oh well. Just go to the group of trees near the entrance, and
check some of the trees there. Thanks to all the details Bandai went into, it's
kind of hard to show you which tree is. Just make sure you didn't miss any of
them and eventually Veemon will show himself. All that simple.
## End of Mini-Game ##
Okay. Now the Kicking Boots is all yours. You can now kick some bu-, I mean,
trees for surprises. Apparently they DO have some point when giving all these
trees some blue rubber around it. They know that some hyperactive kid will
come and play soccer with it; because the only friends he have to play with
are bunch of little critters with sharp claws and/or deadly elemental magic,
which obviously never make a safe game.
Here's how the Kicking Boots work:
- The point of kicking trees is to find the Cardmon, the digimon who drops
Card booster packs if beaten. He looks exactly like a yellow ball with
rotating card on his head. There's also a blue Cardmon, but we'll tackle
that later.
- The kicking boots only works on the trees that is ON your path. In other
words, no, no kick that out-of-reach rendered palm. To kick, just face the
tree and press X. There will be this pop-up radar, showing either "blue",
"green" or "red" pulses. Blue means "Cardmon is far", Green means "kind of
closer" and Red means "check that tree next to me!"
(Or, in the famous words of Choco himself, they're respectively "Kweh",
"Kwehh!!" and "KWEH-HHHHHH!")
- Umm, anyway. Once you kick the right one you'll have to fight Cardmon.
Rarely, I also happen to fight some other digimons, like green Yanmamon
or Woodmon. This is simply the same old battle you've experienced for
hundreds of time. Nothing's special but the fact that it _somehow_ reminds
you of that game, again, you-know-what.
- On one side note, the chances of finding Cardmon depend on how many trees
are there in the area. Say, in the Kicking Forest, finding Cardmon takes
some luck because he might be just there or there or there. Or there. To the
contrary, the Shell Beach only has around six trees or so. You can easily
kick the SAME tree for two consecutive encounter. Abuse this fact for
that nice exp and money the Cardmon drops.
- However, Cardmon tend to drop crappy booster in any areas with less trees.
Currently I have around 43 Booster-1B since I took advantage in quick
leveling-up by fighting these guys, and I really don't know how to make use
of these cards. The other day, a Cardmon I found in Kicking Forest dropped
R-Booster 1, containing all the rare rookies' cards. Which is kind of there
to prove the saying, "what you work for is what you get". Or something.
- In the end, it doesn't always have to be like what I said. In some rare
occasions, you could also get R-booster from Shell Beach's Cardmon.
Meanwhile, the Kicking Forest's Cardmon also used to drop Booster-1B as
well. So just kick every trees in sight and you will be doing just fine.
Now go visit Seiryu City, our next chapter.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Now if you feel like shopping around, enter the first tower you see. It's the
Zephyr Tower. There are Gargomon, Wizardmon, Gatomon and Divermon there. So
basically this tower works as both inn and shop. The Divermon, in other hand,
will help you to tear down the Boosters you got from Cardmon and he will then
hand you all six cards inside it at no cost. Hmm, how helpful. He also sell
cards, if you're too lazy to play.
Now, get out the tower and move west. There's Gale Tower there, with a
sleeping Airdramon inside. Currently there's no clue how to wake him up. I've
tried to talk to it 31 times in a row but all I got was Zzz. So there.
Out the tower, and now move north. Yet there's another tower, a big one. It
is the Seiryu Tower. Inside it are Piximon and Guardromon. Finally, you can
save your game. As of Piximon, he (she?) will help you to change your party,
which is yet another teaser (foreshadowing?) since you've got nobody else in
team but these three fellows behind you. Anyway, s/he basically serves like
the Digimon Lab in Asuka City, just without the Navis.
Now move up the ladder and some person guarding the door in the 2nd floor will
mention that the leader isn't present. He's currently training in Protocol
Ruins, which is north from the East Wire Forest. Oh, well. They do need a
reason to get you to some new places, don't they?
So you need to go there. If you have enough money, there are lots of new
equipments in the shop. Stock up on Power Charges and also Antidote Disks,
you need them soon.
And warning: from now on, somehow the tamers who previously were friendly or
just enganged Card Battle will start to ask a real duel, like you have with
ol' man Genji back then. That is, in Wind Prairie, your first target is the
happy boy Akiba.

After you beat him, he'll say something like, "I don't wanna fight you, it's

Anyway, if your Digimon need healings, Forest Inn always welcomes. Also make
sure you have your Digimon at around level 9 or better. It may take some time,
but I guess we all know if we want something quick there's some better things

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At first impression, this place is so gloomy. Gone are those bright color of
trees and, uhm, plugs and capacitors... Gone are those grasses. Everything
is but a dark, scary place with dead trees and spider webs...
And surprisingly this isn't the Digimon Mansion. Here, you need to fight the
spider digimon, Dokugumon, so that you can have the Spider Web it dropped.
This item is important for, no, not to teach Quistis her first Blue Magic.
Instead, it will soon be used for a fishing pole, despite how hard it is to
relate both things. So just grab one and go through.
Oh, yeah, right. You don't know where. Here goes. Under the big tree, there
lies a hidden maze. You can't see where to go since your path isn't visible.
You cannot just walk straight to the ruins. Instead you will need to walk
around the tree.
Normally, I should include an ASCII map here for your convenience. But then
again, I'm afraid this FAQ will be stopped JUST RIGHT HERE if I keep on
thinking HOW to make the map both comprehensive and understandable. So here
instead:
You need to walk around the outside part of the tree, counterclock-inte. So
like this: _______
/ \_____
__| \
FINISH ___| |
XXX | XXX: The middle of the big tree
__ __/
/ \ /
/ \ /
START \_____/
There. ASCII map. See what I mean when I said, "...stopped just RIGHT HERE..."?
Anyway don't give up. The path DOES exist and nothing's wrong with your game.
Just keep trying and you'll find it.
Out the stupid tree, you'll see that infamous Darkness Tower. That, sure, comes
directly from the TV series. Too bad you cannot just let your digimon went
berzerk and destroy it. There's this thing called "linearity" in videogames,
so you just need to follow the story, up that ladder into the ruins.

Amusingly, I felt this Azure Dreams environs when I enter this place. And also
Suikoden 2, when I saw that snake statue. And then I felt somehow like a
guinea-pig: the path to the north led me to the western path, and the path to
my west led me to the northern path. In other words, just some empty circle
there. You will also find this high, climbing-up place but I don't know if
there's something hidden there.
So, dear folks, use the east path instead. It will eventually bring you to a
very interesting character, namely the Pharaohmon. He will warn you that he is
strong, but somehow you decided to proof it. Obviously not the common thing
a normal kid would say in a situation like this, but eh. Here goes nothing.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
If your Digimon are somewhere around level 9 or 10, you can beat him with
proper strategy. His normal attack will deal enough damage for you, so if you
need it just use one turn for attack and one turn for healing (with item--
or spells if you're, like, using Angemon with the Small Heal).
The Necromist is something a bit different. It charges you less damage, but it
has some chance to poison you. If you have used defense/attack booster spell,
Necromist might also cancels the effect. If you're poisoned, just use the
curative item I just so happen to suggest you to buy back then.
Just keep attacking, and remember to make use of your ANOTHER digimon if the
leader is about to KO. Eventually Pharaohmon, the stud who called himself
"strong", will be fallen. Fortunately, the law of RPG turned him into the
amazing loop of logic in which he will respect you like an old friend, as if
nothing has happened.
Talk to him to get the Old Wand; a weapon to add-up your magic strength. Of
course, nobody uses this thing because this far magic has nothing (or less
thing) to do with "dependable attacking", so just stick with the Seiryu
equipments set like before.
Now to the east from Pharaohmon, jump down the edge and walk around the hidden
path (use your satellite as pointer) and go to the other side. You will then
find that Seiryu Leader and his digimon. Worry not, he won't battle you yet.
Just talk to him and he will demand you to beat Master Tyrannomon first as,
you know, a proof or something. Master Tyrannomon awaits in the Tyranno Valley.
Just for those who wondering, going to Master Tyrannomon before entering
Protocol Ruins and meeting the leader JUST WON'T WORK. Master will say "I'm
hungry, I won't fight you now" and no battle. So there. I've spent some extra
time for your convenience and all I want is that you make sure you won't try
the same foolishness.
Tyranno Valley is to the northeast from Kicking Forest, so heal yourself, buy
equipments and some healing items, and go there. All I really suggest you is
that try to get around level 11-12. By that time you will also get the next
digivolution depends on which digimon you're playing with.
Okay, from Kicking Forest, just climb the ladders to the northeast and you will
enter the valley.

As the name suggests, this place holds no more but dinosaurs. Triceramon might
be familiar, you've found them in the Plug Cape. Airdramon and Tyrannomon are
just as strong as Triceramon, so if you can beat one specie then you can beat
the others.
If you CAN'T, though, you're in trouble. The only thing I could suggest is go
to Shell Beach, kick as many trees to find Cardmon, and get some more level for
your Digimon. And just as a reminder, use the training gym if somehow you
forgot them.
The most obvious thing about a monster who called himself "Master" is that he
should awaits on top of the whole place. And he does, so just keep going up
and there. The path is quite easy since there are only two possibilities:
finding Master's throne, or stuck in a dead-end.
Go up the last ladder, prepare your digimon, talk to that black-colored
Tyrannomon, and let the battle begins.

Basically, he is like a stronger version of Tyrannomon (which should be
obvious. Stupid me). There are only two things that matter, his defense and
his attack. Though nothing more but a brawl fight, you need to keep an eye to
your own HP. His attack might, at worst, decrease around one third portion of
your entire HP, while your attack might scratch only around 100 points or so.
However, since your Digimon have better level, speed and HP (well, I HOPE so),
your leader might as well beat Master first before he beats yours. If your
leader can't, there's always another digimon to go. Remember that all dinosaurs
are slow enough they sometimes do nothing in a turn. Make use of this fact as
well.
Victorious, talk to him to grab the Old Claw. This, of course, no more but a
very old weapon, but still stronger than the sword from Seiryu. Just equip it
to your dino-digimon (Agumon, Guilmon, whoever else who can).
Now back to the Seiryu Leader. But is he still in the Ruins? If you have some
experience with RPGs, you will somehow have this feeling that the Leader won't
be there. If you think so, congratulations. He somehow returns to the city, as
if he really know you will beat Master Tyrannomon anyway.
So do not get fooled like I did. Go Seiryu City, to the Seiryu Tower and, uh,
wait. Go to the inn and save your game first, of course. And after that, claim
your first badge already.

So, if you can beat the Master Tyrannomon, it's easy to beat him. Doesn't mean
it only took one or two strikes When I said "easy", mind you. It's just your
plain old battle: keep attacking and heal when necessary. The only amusing
thing might be the Apemon, just because we never saw him before.
After you beat him, he will hand you the shiny Badge, and the Silver Ticket
for the East Station. He will also mention the Suzaku Leader, obviously your
next destination. Cheer up, guys, it's getting thicker from now on.
As you get out of the city, your friend Alan will appear and tell you
something about Lucky Mouse, a hacker who managed to get into the DO and
mess the whole thing. The game is now in a "maintenance" phase in which every
player cannot go back to Real World, but until it is fixed player won't be
charged. As if it has something to do with you, the guy with the controller.
Now continue the journey...
But wait. Before you go to East Station, these are things you might want to
check first.
- The Fishing Pole. By now, you might already have the following item: Spider
Web and Red Snapper. Now go to Asuka City Armory and buy a Bamboo Spear.
After that, go to the Mr. Fisherman down the Shell Beach, and he'll make
you the pole! There are more interesting features by fishing; you can fish
Blue Cardmon and different enemies, like Seadramon from the Kicking
Forest's lake, and Divermon from Divermon's Lake (although it is quite
strong and better let alone peacefully). Go fish each time you see water!
The only downside is, well, it also reminds you to some certain monster
game...
- The training gym. Now you have more options, that is the Tolerance
training. Like, to have Stingmon, you need Lighting Tolerance at 80 for
your Guilmon, so you might want to train some here. Use the R1 to alternate
options.
- The El Dorado. The building next to Yellow Cruiser that previously kicked
you out, will somehow welcome you as of now. Talk to the Ponchomon in the
desk for your El Dorado ID; with this you can go down to enter the auction.
It is located in the very end of the place's underground, so go there if
you feel like a remembrance from some Final Fantasy game. I don't know
if it's random, but the first item sold there for me was the Divine Barrier,
a shield for Patamon. Try to check back frequently for some different and
better (and more expensive!) items.
- People. If you're the sort of players who bought Lunar for the massive
dialogue, you might welcome these: people in city will say some different
thing about the maintenance. Nothing special, but interesting nonetheless.
- DRI. What's DRI? In Seiryu City, you can find one. He's looking for
WarGrowlmon. You, of course, are not supposed to understand this whole
foreshadows yet, so just let yourself know he is there and period.
- Digimon Lab. A while ago, your digimon might have learned its fourth
digivolution (like ExVeemon from Kumamon) and loadable technique. You can
change the digivolution if you want, but loading the techniques is a must.
So definitely go there. (Later I just realized that you could also do this
by talking to Piximon, like in the Seiryu Tower).
- Tamer Battle. Many tamer around the place will now challenge you to a battle.
No biggie. Check down the Tamer List section for more info.
Now, after the whole tiring preparation, let's head to the East Station!

and thus I'm not sure whether she will challenge you in a battle right this

Now go to the screen thingie and there will be some sort of system booting.
The operating system of deeper crevice's gondola will announce itself, whatever
it is. It will say that you need Blue Card to operate the gondola to the
South Sector, in which it is possessed by a digimon born from it. Magically,
you will think that it was Guilmon, and you decided to ask him in the city.
Yes. All the way to ASUKA city. You didn't regret being prepared, did you?
I mean, if you follow my strategy above it means you've prepared yourself
by going Asuka before going to East Station, and now you need to go back

And on one side note, the Guilmon in the Seiryu City JUST SO HAPPEN to
disappear for no apparent reason. Talk about gaming plot, eh?
When you enter the gate of Asuka, a Mystery Player will come and greet you.
The name is Keith, and apparently he's just another rival or so. Because:

Oh well. Just beat him and his gang of bugs. Feh. This battle will ended up in
some insult match, the one that's close to Meis v.s. Bandiger in Thousand Arms.
Okay, so you don't play TA, but anyway.
You do remember where Guilmon, right? In the Yellow Cruiser area. Bummer, he's
not there. You can check the Cargo Tower, but no, not there too. Check the
auction area under the El Dorado, and you'll notice (well, I did) that the
place also named Cargo Tower. You can use the panel to the east corner, and
suddenly the floor will go up. So it's basically an elevator. But there also
nothing on the third floor, so go back down and out the place.
Go to the Inn, check the room and, voila, Guilmon is there. Talk to him and
receive the... uhm, information that he didn't have the card. His COUSIN has
it, and his cousing was going to Seiryu City. But then again, he also mention
that his cousin has this knack on taking a nap, so he might be sleeping

Before you go, talk to old Tamer Genji first. Because, uh, somehow he want

Poor old Genji. Anyway, let's go for Guilmon.
Talking about sleeping, he must be in, like, an inn, right? So let's head to
Forest Inn. Yes, there's a Guilmon there, just _not_ the right one. He said
that the Guilmon with Blue Card went to Seiryu. Okay, let's go there.
Inside the Zephyr Tower, you'll find the Tricky Guilmon. He will hand you the
card; but then again, what with his name and his laugh after his suggestion
to register your account, there's somehow this smell of a plot, eh? And yet,
check your Important Items and you will see the "8lue Card". Hmmm. Weird.
Nevertheless, it's an RPG, no matter you KNOW what's going to happen or not,
you STILL have to follow the story.
Go to East Station and use the card. And the registration will be, you guessed
it, terminated. Your card was fake, an 8lue Card is not a Blue Card. My, how
surprising this bitter story is...
Of course, it's time to complaint. But what is a bandit if he STAYS and AWAITS
for you coming with all anger and spite? Of course not. In Seiryu, go talk to
the Guilmon in front of Seiryu Tower. No, this is Leader's Guilmon, he's not
what we're looking for. Luckily he informs us that Trickster Guilmon, that
jerk, was running out of the town and hiding somewhere underground, in a place
with ghost and stuff.
In other words, where else but in the basement floor of Forest Inn? Things
can never be this easy. Well, almost, considering that we'll take yet another
walk to the inn. Sometimes I wonder why we can't just hop onto Grizzmon and
let him brought us all. You know, like in the TV.
Trickster Guilmon is down there in the basement, so talk to him and he will
now give the real card. Back to East Station (or check Seiryu City for "good,
now you have the real one!" from Guilmon) and use the card. It's all works,
everything's going fine, and you're entering the Deeper Crevice.
The gondola seems to slide swiftly, until an earthquake happens and some
strange cubistic entity dropped right in front of you. Heck, draw your swords,
my friend, what's an RPG if you can't fight the most unpredictable creature?

Compared to the last bosses, this thing is some stronger monster. With Double
Guard, my lvl.15 Guilmon (which was digivolved as Stingmon) got 200+ damage
in a single attack. And I can only scratch around 114 damage on it. Some other
authors suggested you to level-up and try to get your Blast Meter near full.
I do agree with the leveling, you need around 14 to be safe. But getting
Blast Meter do kind of hard when you're around that level, because you may
have killed all enemy (excluding some strong fished ones) before they touch
you.
So the other solution is DNA Digivolution. My Paildramon (which is Stingmon+
ExVeemon) did an enormous 574 damage on it, bringing it to critical state.
I'm sure you will have DNA Digivolution whatever your Starter is, so use them
frequently. The only downside is that Bulbmon will flee and you CAN NEVER
beat it; My second Paildramon attack did a ridiculous damage of 71, and then
Bulbmon fled.
Finally, you'll reach the South Station, and automatically enter the Bulk
Swamp. Funny. They always use techie names in Digimon, right? I guess the
game designers had too much SPAM in their mailbox when they conceived this
place. Heh. Heh. It's always nice knowing that you're not alone :)
Anyway, enter back the South Station for some tamer battle with friends from
Switzerland. Since this is not compulsory, check the Tamer List section for
further information. Go battle him, though, the Counter Crest he gives is
a VERY useful item.
NOTE: Apparently, the possibility of having the Counter Crest from this
battle is random. Counter Crest is most likely dropped by the Tuskmon he
carried, so nothing's wrong with your game if you didn't get a Counter
Crest. Soon, you will also meet many Tuskmon encounter, and you can try
your luck again there.
WARNING: Counter Crest works like this: If you equip it, and the enemy deals
some damage on you, your digimon (if still alive) will counter and do (at
least) the same damage on the enemy. The damage might be more if you equip
some Elemental attack booster accesories or something. This is undoubtedly
useful, but then again some people consider using it as CHEATING. I don't
know. I mean, I earned it with my own effort; but then again the item seems
too valuable as an early prize. Let's just use it for personal usages, but
never mention it while in the crowd, okay? Counter Crest is quite some
sensitive term to use in boards, so stay aware :)

After the battle, say goodbye to her and go east, to eventually find the Tin
Mail. Now go south, cross the bridge and go west. If you go south, you will
reach the Jungle Grave, a deadly place in which you could meet Musyamon,
sort of like a mini-boss who roams around the place. So don't. If you go east,
there's Bios Swamp, while to the west is the Tranquil Swamp.

If you fight Gekomon, it will use the attack Confuse Gas, which will confuse
your digimon (insert big d'oh here). Anyway, the Confuse state will give you
the funny attack menus, so it won't hurt of a try anyway.
Talk to the boy, Ghostbuster Puck, and he'll mention some ghost in that house.
No problem, enter it. Nobody is there, but some unknown voice will freak you
out of the place--despite you have fought dinosaurs, pharaoh, spiders and
dragons _bravely_ before. Not to mention fighting a trashtalking tamer.
Keep moving west and you will find a very helpful Swamp Inn. Go save your game,
and then get out and fish as many Seadramon as you can, to get all your digimon
to around level 18-20. Yes, that's A LOT, I know. It may take at least one hour
of play or so, depends on what level you are now. But believe me, you need high
levels to last the game easier.
Okay, I lied. It actually took around one hour to go from lv.19 to lv.20, and
that was if you keep battling Musyamon, that stupid powerhouse. Now, you want
to be able to defeat him too, right? Let's just check the Jungle Grave.

NOTE: Unfortunately, for those who didn't get the Counter Crest from the
tamer battle with Andy, you better not mess with Musyamon. Or do so, maybe,
like using some DNA-Digivolve or two. If you can't, level 18-19 actually
is fine.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is how to beat Musyamon. First, it is highly suggested if you have reached
level 18. If you have less, avoid this place and fight Seadramon instead. Once
you have, equip your leader with Counter Crest (shut the cheater cue, please),
and walk around until you found one.
Apparently, the Counter Crest was made for the sake of this battle: The only
thing they want to teach us when facing Musyamon is that, if you can endure its
attack, you're the winner. Here's how. Musyamon got around 889 HP; he CAN and
he WILL deal damage on you for as much as around 600-700. With elemental
booster (like Fire/Water Power) equipped, your counter to the damage might go
700-750. Your normal attack, however, will only deal some wee 100-190.
The trick is JUST to maintain your HP. Once Musyamon hit you, your digimon
will counter. Sometimes your counter will be evaded, but don't worry. Just
heal your digimon with spells or items. If there're very little HP remain on
it, just break through your defense and kick it instead for quick victory.
And eh, this strategy might be the very first time you get mad at your digimon
when he EVADES an attack :) Anyway, let the other digimon equip the Counter
Crest if you want it to face Musyamon too.
After everyone joins the proud member of Level.20 Digimons (which also acquire
you their Mega digivolution), you'll be very tired. I mean, eh, go take a walk
to the park, play some nice mp3s, go to sleep, take a bath. Sometimes the
boredom out of repetitious battle could cause slight insanity, y'know.
Once you're fresh, you may continue the journey in Jungle Grave. You will then
meet the Zanbamon, the Digimon 3's version of FF's Odin. Riding a horse, with
such enormous sword, he will battle you and defeat you no matter what. Your
leader will just run away after taking the first attack, and you lose all the
guts to challenge him again.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
4.1.5. Oh, let's just kick Zanbamon outta the way!
Thus, for whatever his reason was, Zanbamon discourages you to pass, and you
need to find your way around. Or try to get some help. Or, since this is RPG™,
check the other obscured thing you've met before: that voise inside the
Shaman House. Because it will have the relation with the previous happening,
TRUST ME.
UPDATE: Uhm, so actually, before you go to the House, you'll need to talk with
the Gatomon inside the Inn to trigger the next event. The Gatomon is the one
that'll talk about Zanbamon and Sepikmon and stuff. Also note that you could
actually do this before or after meeting Zanbamon (you can visit the inn
anytime, you see), which is why I didn't mention this fact in the first place.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big thanks to "Blah Blah" for the notification at the previous error.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now go inside the House and you will then call the voice "Sepikmon". Yes, the
Sepikmon as it was said by the Gatomon. Sepikmon will tell you how to beat
Zanbamon, but first you need to find him his mask. Without it, nobody can see
Sepikmon.
Yeah, yeah. I know you just want to know HOW to beat Zanbamon and all Sepikmon
really has to do is just by TELLING you so regardless you can see him or not;
but eh. Sepikmon says he still had it when he was with Baronmon, so he must
lost it after that.
No more clue, so better go back to Central Sector or something. On your way
in the Bulk Swamp, you'll suddenly meet Kail, your old friend. Coincidentally,
she says that she just saw a digimon with amazing face going East Sector, the
Baronmon himself. It's so weird now you even begin to question _her_ own
existency. I mean, is she really human, blood and flesh like yourself; or is
she just a part of this gigantic who-knows-what game Digimon Online, just
another brick out of the many that establish the storyline?
Anyway, no time to be logical. In Seiryu City, the Agumon will say that
Baronmon isn't there, but he's supposed to be in forests or ruins, the place
he likes the most. Mmmm, the only things might be the Wire Forest, Protocol
Forest, or Protocol Ruins. So let's go there.
Say, they didn't mention ruins for nothing, right? So ignore the forest and
head to Protocol instead. The only suspicious thing left inside the ruin
should be that high ladder to the west. And that "You are strong! You can be
Server Champ!" line from Pharaohmon, actually, but just let him alone. Go to
the high ladder (a tower?) and something just so happen to stand there.
Baronmon will say some weird things, what with Sepikmon's trueness and all. The
only thing I can decipher was when he said "Asuka City", and fortunately
that's the only clue we need. Head there.
And while you're in Central Park, visit the training gym to harvest the fruit
of your hard labor back then in Jungle Grave. Tiresome as it may be, training
is a very valuable feature to increase stats, so you should make better use of
it.
When you're entering Asuka Bridge, go east instead of entering the gate, and
you will find this zany monster. That's Sepikmon. He said he HIMSELF has found
the mask, so he ain't no telling the way to beat Zanbamon. Crap.
Inside Asuka City, apparently Sepikmon has caused many troubles. He stole the
candy from Tamer Mika, dropped many bananas so everybody fall down, stole
cards, and many many nasty things. Oh, and under the big tree, somehow there
is Etemon, telling you that Sepikmon went to Divermon's Lake and about how
he is embarassed being the same type digimon as Sepikmon.
Like, who's this guy anyway? Is he Kail in disguise? Why did he suddenly pop
and help you? Nevertheless, before you go there, check Digimon Lab first, to
do the loading, changing digivolution or stuff. You've been leveling your
digimon much like myself. Now, my Patamon has grown androgynous. He is now
MagnaAngemon, but another day she can also be Rosemon. Kind of creepy, but eh.
Now in Divermon's Lake, cross the bridge and move to the dead-end on the west.
There's a Man in black there, talk to him and he'll introduce himself. Nick,
21 years old (as if age does count for anything in DO). He will then complain
about how Etemon took off some shield he previously found. Everything goes
quite good, until he decided to add the whole foreshadowing stuff by
mentioning "they" who didn't do their job. Or something.
Yeah, with a single talk, now Etemon is the bad guy. I bet Nick should be a
marketer in the Real-Life. Anyway, go to Etemon, and you will ask him about
the mask. Etemon will run away, hiding something without leaving you any
clue. We should have guessed it when some people said "dropping bananas"!
Oh well, go to the Asuka Sewer and that monkey will be cornered. Talk to him
to get back the Sepik Mask, and he will remain there, apparently, forever.
Poor monkey. Back then in Digimon World, his little yellow brother got kicked
out of the town seconds after he decided to move in, and now he has to suffer
the same thing too. See, sometimes it's hard to be a monkey NPC.
Wait, wait. If all this mess was caused by Etemon, then HOW did he know we need
the mask so that we could ask how to beat Zanbamon? I mean, he DID say that
"I found my mask! I won't tell how to beat Zanbamon!" some time ago in the
Asuka Bridge, right?
Pfff, it's kind of hard trying to find a little sense here. Ten demerits for
Bandai! Anyway, go aaall way down to the Shaman House, and finally you will
talk to the real Sepikmon. He will, uh, appear with that infamous Japanese
paper bag on his head, and he will then wear the mask you provide. In exchange,
he gives you the Smelly Herb, the only thing to kick Zanbamon out. Oh, on one
little side note, if you check your Important Items, the Sepik Mask is still
there despite Sepikmon have wore it and all! Ha! Another demerits!
Anyway, just talk to Zanbamon and somehow that loser will run away thanks to
the Herb. Hey, if Zanbamon, with all the heavy mask he wore all over his face,
could smell it, then why can't YOU? And you, you keep the thing inside your
bag! This, uh, isn't a very nice way to end this chapter, but anyway.
PS: From now on, all the Musyamon will go following their leader Zanbamon to
the Jungle Shrine. Of course, at this point you don't know where the Shrine
is, but soon you'll see. My point is that you won't have to be worried walking
around the grave, all that's left there are DemiDevimon and Bakemon.

In the end of this place, you'll find a sign: North to Suzaku City and West
to Ether Jungle. Your destination is the city, but if you keep going west from
Ether Jungle, you'll find the South Cape. There you can find a tamer and a
training gym led by Birdramon. This gym is kind of special because it lets
you train Dark Tolerance. So if you have some TP left, it's worth checking.
Just don't get into Jungle Shrine, yet. Now, go to the Suzaku City and the
first person you see will ask a battle. If you're not ready, avoid her. But
here's the stat anyway.

From the inn, go north and enter the Suzaku Hall. If you go up and talk to the

You'd thought what with her wasting her day watching Floramon's dance, there's
no way losing the battle; but no. Her Woodmon and RedVegiemon are some easy
opponents, but ShogunGekomon is a bit different. It has more HP, and is able
to do the Confuse Gas, which somehow works more effective rather than when it
was used by the common Gekomon. It will take you a little more time to get
over ShogunGekomon, but you'll win anyway.
She will then hand the Suzaku Badge, and your next destination is Byakko Badge,
the name that just seems to pop in your head even though you never heard of it
before. Apparently the Byakko located in the West Sector, which can only be
accessed via water. You'll need the help from Submarinemon to cruise the water,
and you need the Digi-Egg of Sincerity to call it. Yeah, another chain quest.
Soon you will meet Kail, who basically asked you to go home since you've all
been playing for quite some time. The both of you will then go look for Teddy;
he had said that he is going to Asuka City's Administration Center. And then,
in a desirably quick flash, you will be in the Asuka City.
Oddly, everybody is around the Lobby. The Game Master will appear, saying
nothing more than "we can't fix the problem so just stay here ho ho". And then
she leaves, just like that.
Anyway, Kail will ask to get into the Admin Center; but if you have tried it
before you will know that the DO Guard will not let you enter. So you need to
find a way to sneak in. People in the city will give you hints. Not all,
actually, most people just said "dunno" or "never think of" and such.
But some certain people and digimon will mention the same thing: only special
tamer and lost digimon may enter the Admin. No, just because you are P1 doesn't
mean you're special; this is just your FIRST visit. So go with the next option.
How do you get a lost digimon to go inside and try to find Teddy? Rather than
teaching your digimon to pretend they're lost (which is a bad thing), you then
think of some way to _become_ digimon. Eh. And if you want to be one, there's
always a company, right? Yeah, the old fellows under the big tree.
Amusingly, they seem like they are waiting for events like this before they
wear that cute Agumon suit; and they keep playing the game of "we wannabe
Digimon, do you know how?" hours ago. Ask them about the suit, and they will
mention "Etemon". In the Asuka Sewer, you will find a strange man instead.
Etemon is nowhere to found, despite the man's laugh OBVIOUSLY reminds you of
something. Talk to Kail (she's now inside the Lobby) and she will point out
that you're an idiot. That Mischievous Mat is the REAL person behind the
Etemon suit.
Okay, as far as I know, there's no way telling her you freakishly KNOW about
this predictable plot, so just give up yourself to the storyline and talk to
the guy once more. And yes, the Etemon actually is a human in disguise. This
probably is why he oddly wore Sepik Mask and caused havoc inside the city;
but still no explanation why he know about Zanbamon.
He will give you the item that said Agumon Suit inside your Important Items;
which suddenly turns into Agumon SUITS for the sake of storyline. Eh.</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
Anyway, you will then have to enter the Admin. Talk to people first. Albeit
you're only limited to those inside the Lobby, their lines are still amusing.
Now when you enter the Admin, The DO Guard will just say, "hmm, your color
didn't match and you oddly have tamers' exclusive satellite over your head;
but you looked like Agumon. You must be lost Digimon, go ahead."
Ha. Ha. Keep going up, don't forget to grab the Power Charge and you will meet
Kail. You will then enter the Master Room, and the Guards will then find you
out. Worry not, since this is an RPG, the social dynamic inside is rather high.
So instead of trashing both of you into the jail, the Game Master decided
to put all the Lucky Mouse and Teddy's mysteries on your shoulder. And that's
all, pretty pretty friend forever, you and the highest authority in Asuka
Server despite you sneak into her secret room inside the disguise of a silly
miscolored digimon and all.
Apparently, out of all the chances, Lucky Mouse just so happen to run away to
the West Sector, the same destination you're about to go for Byakko Badge. Kail
just acts weird and leaves. Anyway, talk to Masato. He'll mention some amusing
thing: he is the guy who is about to go on date with the Tomomi in East Sector,
while Tomomi has decided not to meet him thanks to you beating her partners and
all.
Fine, fine, this is waaay OFF-TOPIC; but since Kail had gone, there's no more
romantical prospect in the game but to mess around with others', eh? Don't
mind me I'm a bored writer.
Go to Phoenix Bay. Of course, that's just four words in a sentence, but it
really goes gruesomely walking the whole way. And the smart Bandai, instead
of providing you some quick transportation, sowed new enemies for you:
Plug Cape : Shellmon
Shell Beach : Shellmon
Wire Forest Entrance : Flymon
West Wire Forest : Flymon
East Wire Forest : Kokatorimon
Protocol Ruins : Baronmon (and the Baronmon over the high tower said
"Thanks for helping Sepikmon next time I'll help you!"
Apparently by letting you play homicide on his own
specie, that is. :)
Divermon's Lake : Seadramon
Jungle Grave : All the Musyamon are gone. Le Musyamon es mort!
Anyway, visit the Gale Tower in Seiryu City to meet that mysterious guy Nick.
Seems like he has something to do with the Airdramon, but no more clue. Give
up, and continue your journey.
On the Bay, you will find this somebody named Nami; she was chasing a cat in
Bios Swamp and behind the shrine she saw a Crest of Reliability. Go to the
swamp and check the north part of it; there's the Symbol of Sincerity, albeit
you cannot reach beyond its wall. Maybe Sepikmon could help, so go ask him.
Yay, he DO help, if only in such an answer "ask Baronmon, he's good at making
bombs!". Okay, go to the Protocol Ruins and talk to the Baronmon. Baronmon will
mention the TNT Chip, but unfortunately he doesn't have this TNT Ball for the
ingredient. TNT Ball could be gotten from Triceramon, both in Plug Cape and
Tyrano Valley. I rather doubt you haven't got one, but if you don't then go
find one.
Once you grab one, talk again to Baronmon and he'll hand you the TNT Chip. Go
to Bios Swamp and there will be this automatic event; you destroy an ancient
shrine without feeling worried and then enter the Reliability Spot. Down the
ladder you will find the Digi-Egg! It's your first transportation!
Here's how Submarinemon works:
- You can call Submarinemon in a certain place. It always shaped like a small
square tiles thingee over the water area, but let's call it "harbor" to make
my life easier. Each harbor connects each other, but not altogether. Like,
Harbor A might connects to B, and Harbor C might connects to D, but Harbor
A might not always connects to C and D. The sea is just rough like that.
- Check section <6.10> Seabed Links Guide for Harbor list and such.
- To control Submarinemon, use D-pad for direction and Triangle to
"accelerate". You know, like in racing games. Submarinemon automatically
floats upward. If your path lies underneath you, hold Triangle so the
Submarinemon dives deeper.
- Beware, under the water lives Dolphmon and Gesomon. Dolphmon is not that
strong, but Gesomon is bad enough the only good thing is that its attack
fills up your Blast Meter so quick. Be terribly aware of this thing. If you
must, you can always use the Counter Crest.
Now, there are some side-quests you could do with the Submarinemon. Refer to
the <5. Side Quest> and <6.10. Seabed Links Guide> Sections for more details.
- Try to get the RUSTY GLOVES from Datamon in Asuka Sewers.
- Go to Togemon's Training Gym, because it teaches every single Tolerances.
It's located in North Badland E, connected by the harbor in Plug Cape.
- If you're a big fan of Nick the mystery man, go to South Badland via South
Cape's harbor. He, as always, said things are going suspicious and stuff.
- If you're a big fan of Keith the loser, go to Ether Jungle and there he will
mention the Legendary Gym, despite he don't know where and how.
- Get the Crossbow, inside the Suzaku UG Lake, via Suzaku City's harbor.

4.1.7. Lost Teddy and The Lucky Mouse
Okay, after everything's done, it's time to continue the journey. By now, I
just hope you're at around lv.24-25. Not that it's a must, but apparently
there's this loop of difficulty between the West Sector and the previous areas;
the monsters there might not be that strong, but they'll appear frequent enough
it's more like an endurance test for you and your digimon.
To go to the West Sector, you can choose either via Plug Cape or South Cape.
If you choose Plug Cape, you'll soon meet the Togemon's Training Gym that
teaches all stats and Tolerances (including Machine), but you will need to
browse further to your next destination that is the Noise Desert. Along the
way you can also find some items and also the Pelche Oasis, an inn of some
sort.
If you choose South Cape, you'll have less further way to walk to the desert,
but there is nothing else to provide. You'll just enter via the southern part
of the desert and that's all. Whatever your choice, follow the below
sub-section accordingly.

4.1.7.a. If you choose via Plug Cape

The one and only way through the Seabed will lead you to North Badland E. Soon
you will meet the Togemon's Training Gym. And, uhm, new enemies and two-cards

After you win, you will ask about the Lucky Mouse. Then the Leader will ask you
to get the Badge inside the Storage Room, really really odd act that is. You'd
soon expect that somehow they will lock you inside the place or something.
You betcha, that happens. The room is empty and suddenly the whole floors fall
down, giving you some question about how it actually stay floating without
any reason before. But that's not the real matter, because then you fall down
into the Underground Cave.
If you choose to go the down ladder, you'll see that the opening at the end
of the path is blocked by something, a cola-colored Numemon or whatever. So
use the up ladder instead and talk to the soldiers there. They will of course
give you no way out--get back to the Numemon.
There will be an auto-event in which the Numemon will reveal the fact that
it is a normal green digimon, the one that warned you not to go to Byakko back
then in Noise Desert. It will guide you out, to the Bullet Valley, and telling
you about the whole fake Leader and citizen of Byakko, and about Mobius Desert
and Mirage Tower. Your next destination.
Try to go north and see the name: Dum Dum Factory. Look at your map and you'll
see it was located pretty up north and it's depicted as snowy area; so there's
no way Mobius Desert would be there. Go southeast instead to visit the North
Badland E, that is now have the new encounter: Mammothmon.
Now go to the Noise Desert, and to the southeast part there will be a new path.
Did this path exist before we go to Byakko? I'm not sure, maybe it was just
been opened lately according to the story. Anyway, head there and you'll visit

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This guy starts with a Flymon, a somehow-strong digimon with high enough speed
and annoying determination. It will keep on attacking you again and again
whatever you're trying to do. Eh. Just use normal attack or techs to finish it
off. Then comes the Tortomon. Every single turtle creature in an RPG is
compelled to have high defense and low speed, just because. Tortomon here is no
exception, normal attack might just cause around 100 damages- 400 if you use
strength booster techs. It also seems to have advanced from the common turtles
by having better speed, more like the Adamantoises family. It also tends to use
Divine Rain, as if trying to tell you: "I am affiliated with water!". I don't
know if fire techs (or anything strong against water) might damage it a lot
because I don't have any in my team, but you might as well try it.
The Mamemon, as we all know, is an ultimate digimon. Most of the time battling
ultimates means a game over. Really, it is a very strong, versatile digimon
with Machine as the attack type. Your digimon, in the other hand, should have
relatively weak tolerances against Machine. That's one. Next, its normal
attack always (or tends to) cause your digimon to Freeze (or gets Petrified,
whatever). This annoying thing continues for many turns, and that creature
will keep dealing huge damage on you while you're there doing nothing.
So, your last resort is high water tech, like Grand Wave or something, because
as far as I know that's the only thing that works on Machine digimon (around
1100 damage or stuff). This Mamemon will most likely KO yours from time to
time, so make sure you have a digimon with the water tech prepared. Oh, and you
will also need enough speed for that digimon too. It's worthless having the
techs if Mamemon can Freeze you to death first.
As a quick note, my digimon were around level 27-28 during the battle. With no
mean to brag, my point is that I want to let you know I still had troubles
here with that level. Oh, but I also FORGOT to buy any equipments from the
Byakko Desert Stash at that time. So if you also experienced problems, try
leveling up and do not forget the new weapons and armors available. Hopefully
you also have some Revive Rings; that will help your digimon to resist
paralysis better.
Once the battle is done, the Leader will apologize for mistaking you for the
bad guy from A.o.A. Most of the time, you didn't realize your mistakes that
fast just by having some little fellow beating your digimon without no further
talk; but you can always forgive the script-writer, can't you?
The Leader will then explain things we already know: that the guys in Byakko
are actually the A.o.A, and the real residents (two persons, a navi and
merchants that is) are captured down the underground until Numemon came and
rescued them to the Tower.
Which is kind of questionable, really. If they could harness the long,
confusing paths and sleep-inducing Vademon in the Mobius Desert during their
way to the Tower, why didn't they do things like, y'know, "coming back for
revenge" or "wreaking some havoc with better digimon" or stuff. I mean, you
know that the Leader's Mamemon is stronger than yours combined and should be
strong enough to take down all the A.o.A in the city. But what's that Leader
do? He's there, waiting to mistake some little kid for a gang of criminal
hackers in his miserably empty room.
Anyway, he will hand you the Byakko Badge, after telling you to go ask Numemon
in Dum Dum Factory up way north to advance the story.

This big bulk really has some great both strength and defense. It killed two of
my starters and leaving me only with my Rosemon. I suppose it has certain
weakness against some element, but I couldn't exploit it enough. So I just use
Small Heal EVERY turn, waiting for the Blast (that goes quite fast, really)
and then used the attack (mine was Seraphimon with Seven Heavens). If I were

best.
Oh yeah, the HeartBreakAttack reduces your strength while dealing some wee
damage. Nothing special. Once you beat it, Lisa will thank you and both of you
will question the reason of both of your being there. Then Numemon comes and
says that both of you just want to talk with him. Lisa will be surprised and
then the Numemon will reveal himself...
..that he is a human. Much like the monkey. Then some talk goes (and I don't
really understand what it's all about) and you'll be teleported to the Lucky
Mouse hideout. There everything will be much told: Teddy is with the A.o.A.
The Game Master is lying, and she actually is the top agent of A.o.A. And the
MAGAMI is A.o.A. too. And suddenly you felt like everybody was using you.
The A.o.A., willing to rule the whole net, is trying to have the control on
Digimon Online and as an ex-staff of DO, Lucky Mouse started the program
malfunction to prevent anybody to enter the server for a while. Funny, it is,
never have I thought ruling some online game will give me access to the whole
network but eh. I'll leave this for the game maker.
Suddenly another voice interrupts. Some general and attackers, with Kail
captured, barge in. The talk will then reveal that Lucky Mouse is Kurt, Kail's
older brother. The attackers captured her while following you from Asuka City.
The General then demands some stuff Lucky Mouse have stole from the A.o.A, and
Kurt delivers it back. The attackers release Kail, but then one of them shoots
Kurt. And it turns him into an Oinkmon!
The attacker gets out of ammo when he is about to shoot you, so what with all
the madness and tiredness, you battle him bravely (not to mention with NO

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Apparently such long-winded walkthrough isn't enough, because there's this
section. Some old material already written in the walkthrough might also be
found here, because eh. I thought some people might just skip the whole thing
and only look for this place.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.1. Kicking Boots
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Talk to the Soccer Boy Hide in Plug Cape, then go look for his Gabumon Card
inside the Asuka City Inn, in the south corner area that also leads to the
Lamb Chop and Underground Path. Then give the card to him and he will mention
about Veemon. Go to Wind Prairie and meet Veemon there. He will hide in the
Kicking Forest. You need to find him, he stands around the first group of tree
near the Kicking Forest entrance. If you manage to do so the Boots is for you.
If you accidentally get out of the Kicking Forest before finding Veemon, I
think talking to the girl inside Forest Inn will help and Veemon will appear
again. Not confirmed yet, though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.2. Fishing Pole
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go talk to the Tai Kong Wong in the Shell Beach. He will mention some
ingredients he need so he can make you a fishing pole. First you need the
Bamboo Spear, a wee weapon available in Asuka City Armory. Next, you need the
Red Snapper, an important item given by Divermon in Divermon's Lake just by
talking to him. Last you need the Spider Web, dropped by Dokugumon in Protocol
Ruins if you beat 'em. Once you grab all the components, talk to the man again
and he will give you the pole.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.3. Legendary Ancient Weapons
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Digimon Online, there exist such old, pathetic weapons which actually
hold some hidden power that is just not exposed yet. Here is the list.
a. Old Wand
Talk to Pharaohmon in Asuka Server's Protocol Ruins after defeating him.
b. Old Claw
Talk to MasterTyrannomon in Asuka Server's Tyranno Valley after beating
him. It's goes along with the storyline there's no way you can't face it.
c. Rusty Glove
You can do this once you're able to call Submarinemon. Go to the Asuka
Bridge and call Submarinemon from the harbor to the east. Make sure you
SAVE your game first in the Inn or something before going anywhere inside
the Seabed. If you choose to go south, it will lead you to the west harbor
of Asuka Bridge, there's nothing but an Iron Glove there. If you go north,
you will reach the deeper part of Asuka Sewers.
Grab the Crimson Blade along the way, and go northeast into a room called
Data Room. There awaits a strong opponent, Datamon. Battle him.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Be forewarned, this guy's normal attack is a combo that may lead into an
enormous damage, even up to 1800 depends on your defense. He also equipped
himself with a Recover Crest that may heals him per turn. To make things
worse, He also have such wonderful defense it made your wonderful attack
that may knock Betamon in one hit obsolete. Now how to beat him?
First, expect some of your digimon to be KO'ed, it happens and it's better
to just admit it. Next, make sure your Digimon learns some strong water
magics, like Grand Wave or something. Also equip your digimon with Water
Powers from Seadramon if you have some. Now, have your first and second
digimon at near Blasted state, that is by fighting enough Gesomon then run
if necessary, and place your digimon with strong water magic as the last
fighter.
Start the battle and Datamon will easily turn your digimon into critical
state. If your Blast meter fills-up, that's a good thing. Use the digimon's
special attack to hopefully scratch some damage on Datamon. But if the
Blast didn't, heal your Digimon with anything to make sure it endure the
next attack. However, if you're NOT SURE if your digimon will survive,
it's BETTER to do some damage on Datamon instead. Or steal the Recover
Crest from him, if you must.
Whatever happens, your first digimon will be fainted unless you've trained
it to, I don't know, level 40 or something. Mine was around 25 and I hope
yours are around that too. The next digimon should play the same role,
try for Blast Digivolving; heal or die in dignity if failed.
The third digimon, however, hold the most important role. Datamon is a
Machine-type digimon, water will easily short-circuit that thing. With a
single Grand Wave, I somehow deal around 1000 damage on him. Hopefully,
your previous digimon had dealt around 500-800 damage so that you can
knock Datamon out. If Datamon stands still, it's gamble time. Another hit
will surely beat him down, but make sure he didn't kill you first.
O, yea. This should be forbidden but you can always equip Counter Crest
for stupid situation like this. If you win, talk to Datamon to get the
Rusty Glove.
d. Rusty Katana
Go to the Jungle Shrine. Uhm, I somehow suggest that you're at around
lv.30 or something. The Numemon inside, despite will naturally try to
flee, is kind of strong. Musta be the color change. Anyway, deeper in
the Catacomb you will encounter the ol' Musyamon, obviously not as strong
as way back then. Keep going north and meet, the Zanbamon.

His normal attack is somewhat strong, but it's compulsory since he is a
boss anyway. The Hunter Knife, however, works differently. If it fails, it
will only deal around half the damage of normal attack; but if it succeed,
it's an instant KO for your digimon. Now you understand why I sometimes
called this guy "Odin"?
Anyway, be patience and you will win. Use whatever you believe may deal
much damage, like Blast or DNA Digivolving. Or Counter Crest, eh. After you
beat him, talk (basically insult) him so he gives you the Rusty Katana.
e. Rusty Rifle

the story so you can't miss it.
Not yet finished!

5.4. Renaming your Digimon
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's easy, right (or a little bit) after you find the Digi-egg of Sincerity,
the Baronmon will move from the Protocol Ruins to the Shaman House. Talk to
him there to rename your Digimon. Not much of a side-quest, but really, I don't

Common items are, like, the nuts and the bolts of RPG. If they are not around,
it's not yet an RPG. Because, uh, there's always this role of a "shop" in RPG.
Without items to be sold, a "shop" would sound like "soup", without the water.

6.4.2. Auction Items
One good thing about auction items is that they sold higher in normal shop.
The bad thing, however, they're so rare you just want to keep them inside to
show it off to your friend despite you don't need them and all. And they get
more and more expensive, you just can't seem to hold the temptation from a
Gameshark code. Not that I'm doing so, honest.
PS: The poor guy Riggs from LA standing in the Asuka City Black Market area
will always complains about not finding some certain item. The item, I
suppose, is always the one they offer in the auction. Meanwhile, if the
owner of the Asuka City Shop is present, that means there is no auction
and no Riggs; because he the owner is also one who runs auction. So there,
for your sweet little gaming tidbits neighborhood.

6.6. Tamer List
Ahh, tamers. Sometimes they asked to battle cards, sometimes digimon, and then
they just stopped and start to say programmed things. The worst is that there's
no certain explanation about these habits it made me feel kinda icky.
NOTE: 1. Tamers might also rarely drops item depends on their digimon.
2. Example: the Counter Crest I've got from Tamer Andy. I once thought
it just simply happens like that, but further info from my friend
convinced me that it's random; and then I conclude that it's just
because of the Tuskmon. Wild Tuskmon drops Counter Crest. Whee.

7. Frequently Asked Questions
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Q: How do I catch a Digimon?
A: The same way you revive Aeris in Final Fantasy VII. You don't, folks.
Q: How do I get the fishing pole?
A: Buy Bamboo Spear from Asuka City Armory, get a Spider Web (dropped by
Dokugumon in Protocol Forest) and a Red Snapper (talk to the Divermon down
the Divermon's Lake). Then talk to the old man in Shell Beach so he can
make you the pole.
Q: How do I get the Kicking Boots?
A: Talk to Soccer Kid Hide in Plug Cape > Find his Gabumon Card in Asuka's
Inn > Give it back to him > Talk to Veemon in Wind Prairie > Find Veemon
in the hide-n-seek minigame inside Kicking Forest > Get the Boots.
Ah, just refer to the walkthrough for details.
Q: How do I get the Counter Crest?
A: Fight Tuskmon in the North Badland area until they drop one. Or if you're
lucky, Tamer Andy in Asuka Server > South Station might also drop one
(because he have Tuskmon in team, no less).

8.2. Revision History
Version 0.2 August 22, 2002
- Walkthrough status: Very little addition, after the meeting with Lucky Mouse
Version 0.1 July 21, 2002
- The very beginning of the FAQ. The walkthrough (i.e. the only thing you're
looking for in places like these) haven't yet finished and still covered
as far as the Mobius Desert.

You may (or may not) find it hard to believe, but there are MANY things
beyond the knowledge of FAQ writers, even the most prolific ones. Some
people in Message Boards, in other hand, usually have even more details
and information to share with others. They just lack in some time to
construct their own FAQ, so instead visit them and find the better truth.
Based on true story!
