Please note that this FAQ is for the Japanese, PlayStation version of
EB. Some of it may not pertain to your version if you're playing the
(newly released) Digimon Rumble Arena.
However, most of the names for the Digimon used in this FAQ are the
names used in English, since I am too lazy to look up all the Japanese
Katakana. You could contribute a list of the Japanese names, if you
want to.

FOUR METERS BELOW
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
During battle, you can should be able to see four meters: two on your
opponents, and two on yours. On either side is a picture decipting one of
the two fighting Digimon, and nested in the middle in the time.
The lower meter, which starts out full with a red bar, is the life meter,
while the smaller, upper meter, which starts out empty, is your Digivolve
meter. Your life meter empties when you get hit (logic), and you Digivolve
meter is filled up if you succesfully damage your enemy, or are damaged by
it. Assuming you are using a Digimon that can evolve, the words 'EVO' are
indicated. Pressing R1 will Digivolve you, and in your evolved form, the
Digivolve meter will slowly deplete. If you are using a Digimon that
can't evolve (or already evolved), you can use your GC attack when your
Digivolve meter is full, depleting it (if used by an evolved Digimon, it
can be used at any time, but it still uses up your whole Digivolve meter).
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GC ATTACK? WHAZZAT?
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
My friend Smiley Warhead calls it a special attack. Basically, it is a
powerful attack that depletes your Digivolve meter. It does INCREDIBLE
damage. It's only downside is that you are very vulnerable when attempting
to do a GC attack, and if you are hit, you've wasted your whole Digivolve
meter.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
THE FIRST MENUS
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The first menu you see will probably be the 'No Data Found' Menu. Just
choose the second option twice.
After pressing start at the screen where 'Digimon Temasu(Tamers)' is said,
you will be presented with 6 menus. The first three are green, the next two,
labelled ??? are orange/red, and the last is blue.
These are what the menus stand for (more or less):
Green--- Arcade Mode
Green--- VS Mode
Green--- VS COM
Orange---Bonus VS COM
Orange---Bonus VS 2P
Blue--- Options

CONTROLLER SETUP
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
This isn't an exact translation, in fact it isn't a translation at all,
but more or less a rough explanation from my guesses.
- Normal attack = []
- Skill 1 = O
- Skill 2 = T
- Evolve/Use GC Attack = R1
- Block = L1
- Jump = X
- Dual Shock - On or Off
- Default (Those that come after the '='s are the defaults, and the Dual
Shock setting is set to off)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
CHARACTER SELECTION
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
You'll be greeted by Calumon. At the start you'll probably have only 9
Digimon with empty question marks surrounding them. Don't worry, they'll
be opened up if you keep playing the arcade mode. If you and your opponent
want to use the same Digimon, press select before choosing.
The top row is filled by the other hidden characters, the second row is
filled by the 9 original rookies (well, 8 plus one champion), while the
bottom row is filled by the evolved version of the Digimon above it.
Here's a simple list (from left to right):
First row: Reapermon (Gokumon), BlackWarGreymon, Omnimon, some space for
Calumon, Impmon, Beelzamon (Blast Mode), Imperialdramon
(Paladin Mode)
Second row: Gabumon, Agumon, Patamon, Terriermon, Guilmon, Renamon,
Wormmon, Veemon, Gatomon (Tailmon)
Thrid row: MetalGarurumon, WarGreymon, Seraphimon, MegaGargomon
(SaintGargomon), Gallantmon, Sakuyamon, Stingmon,
Imperialdramon (Fighter Mode), Magnadramon
Anyway since I was bored, I checked up the scrolling words below Calumon,
between Omnimon and Impmon's potrait. It's 'Dejimon Serekuto'. For those
of you who aren't too used to Engrish, it's 'Digimon Select.'
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
UNLOCKING BONUS GAMES
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
It seems that bonus games are unlocked after you play them in arcade mode
(between the fourth and the fifth round). You unlock the bonus game menu
even if you lose to the com in the arcade mode, but games that you have
not played are not unlocked.
=========================================================================
3. BASIC STRATEGIES
=========================================================================
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
BEATING REAPERMON (GOKUMON)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Reapermon (Gokumon) isn't actually that good if you use him, but in the
8th (last stage) of the arcade mode, he's in his element. There are no
drops from the stage, which seems to be infinite in length, and he can
continue up into a second attack without delay from it's 'Dakedo Slash'
One of the easiest ways to beat him is using the jumping method.
I've only tested the jumping method on easy, and it's one of the easiest
methods. As the name suggests, you jump and use an attack. Don't use
projectile attacks, but use attacks that can knock him down (Terrier
Tornado, Vee Headbutt). If the Digimon you're using doesn't have
something as handy as a Vee Headbutt, don't worry, normal [] attacks
will do. This startegy doesn't seems to work if you've evolved though.
Another way to beat him is the run and attack way. This strategy doesn't
work with all the Digimon, but the ones that are long-range fighters
(MetalGarurumon and Renamon). As the name implies, you run as far as you
can from the enemy, and unleash a far range attack.
Last thing, Reapermon (Gokumon) always blocks if it sees a GC attack, so
Terra Forces are amazing against him.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
BEWARE OF ITEM SPAWNING AREAS!
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
From Grand Master of all clans:
'No matter how powerful an attack can go, it still has its weakness. I
found out one about Seventh Heaven. It is advised that you do not execute
it at a place where items mostly appear. Once, I just finished getting
Seraphimon to shout the attack, and all the white rings unleashed, a bomb
just appeared on the spot! I don't have to tell you what happened, I'm
sure...'
=========================================================================
4. CHARACTER MOVES LIST
=========================================================================
* = Name made up, or not confirmed.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
AGUMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The season one favourite (along with Gabumon) is here, along with Tai
(Taichi). Not one of my favourite Digimon, it's Cross Night takes up a lot
of time (meaning that you're vulnerable to enemy attack). Average, just
average.
Partner: Tai (Taichi)
Evolves to: Wargreymon
T attack- Claw Attack
He bites once, twice and the jumps to finish with a last bite.
O attack- Pepper Breath (air)
Normal projectile attack
[] attack- Punch/Rapid Punch
[] attack (air)- Punch/Kick
Throw- Table Turn Slam
Dash- Screw Turn Kick
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
BEELZEMON (BLAST MODE)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Demonic, winged, and with a gun. Don't say I didn't warn you. An all-round
fighter, with it's close range T attack and the O projectile.
Evolves from: Impmon
T attack- Dark Ringer
An upwards slash, blue in colour. This attack ends a little behind you, so
it's quite good.
From Grand Master of all clans:
'You have probably seen the AI doing this...multiple swipes, executing
the next one while the opponent is still in mid-air, thus creating a
multi-combo Digimon juggling. If you know anyone who has the highest
combo, I'd like to know him...it's simple to do, just commence the
attack, and before your opponent drop down, point at him and execute
again, 2 combo. While he's still in mid-air, look at him and do it
again, 3 combo and onwards...in arcade mode (or VS), the first swipe is
1000 pts., while the second swipe is 2000 pts., totaled 3000 pts., and
the third is 3000 pts., totaled 6000 pts., with 1000 pts. added every
combo...in my hall of fame? It's all filled with Beelzamon's potrait,
and is unbreakable now.'
O attack- Darkness Claw (Air)
A shot with its gun.
[] attack- Kick/Rapid Attack
[] attack (air)- Punch/Kick
Throw- Destroyer (From Behind)
Dash- Dash Punch
GC attack- Chaos Flare
A 'path' comes out of Beelzemons hand. Anything in this 'path' is hurt,
and a large fireball comes out following the path. The only downside of
this attack is that the 'path' knocks down the opponent, making the large
fireball miss it.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
BLACKWARGREYMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Made from 100 control spires, and fueled by hate, BlackWarGreymon (aka
ChaosWarGreymon), one of the worst enemies. Not much different from the
original WarGreymon though (which means it's still as deadly).
T attack- Black Tornado (Air)
It spins, following the direction you specified. Can be done twice in a
row, and you can change the direction again, even the opposite one.
O attack- Dragon Crusher
Computer opponents are easily tricked by this attack. Downwards slash,
upwards slash. Magna Striker tells me that the upwards slash is a Fire Wall.
GC attack- Terra Destroyer (Air)
The only difference WarGreymon's Terra Force and the Terra Destroyer is
that you don't jump before attacking, and it seems to be a little smaller.
The angle it goes if not done in air is around WSW/ESE angle, but seems to
be 45 degrees downwards if done in air. Unblockable.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GABUMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Agumon's buddy, along with Matt (Yamato). It's upwards Horn Attack is nice,
catching most jumping opponents from below.
Partner: Matt (Yamato)
Evolves to: MetalGarurumon
T Attack- Horn Attack
A headbutt at about NNW/NNE angle
O attack- Blue Blaster (Air)
Normal projectile attack
[] attack- Punch/Rapid Punch
[] attack (air)- Rap/Punch/Head Slam
Throw- Thunder Throw
Dash- Dash Punch
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GALLANTMON (DUKEMON)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Gallant as a knight, and looks like one too. Even though the Royal Saber
is weak by itself (since you dash), it's Upwards Saber is a good, all-purpose
close range attack, designed to stop jumping attackers.
Partner: Takato
Evolves from: Guilmon
T attack- Spiral Saver (Air)
It spirals upwards. IMHO, a good close range attack.
O Attack- Royal Joust
It dashes, and then slashes.
[] attack- Spear & Rapid Attack
[] attack (air)- Kick/Slash/Bum Rush
Throw- Shish Kebab
Dash- Shield Bum Rush
GC Attack- Elysion Blaster
It fires a straight beam from its shield.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GATOMON (TAILMON)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Kari (Hikari) of season one and two's Digimon. Not really a favourite, as
it's Cat's Eye's don't have that much range. It's Lightning Paw is nice,
even if it isn't that useful.
Partner: Kari (Hikari)
Evolves to: Magnadramon
T Attack- Lightning Paw
Gatomon rushes to the opponent. If it succeds, the rush becomes an
uppercut
O Attack- Cat's Eye Hypnotism (Air)
A few projectiles with an O shape come out of Gatomon's hands for a short
range.
[] attack- Punch/Rapid Punch
[] attack (air)- Punch/Head Slam/Kick
Throw- Rumble Ram
Dash- Dash Punch
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GUILMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
A season 3 rookie, my friends know nothing about it. Well, they know
it's partener is named Takato... Still Rock Breaker is a good move, even
though it has less mobility and range than Wormmon's Random Roll.
Partner: Takato
Evolves to: Gallantmon (Dukemon)
T Attack- Rock Breaker (Air)
It spins towards the opponent, it's tail burning.
O attack- Pyro Sphere (Air)
Normal projectile attack
[] attack- Claw/Rapid Claw
[] attack (air)- Claw Attack/Kick
Throw- Slam Attack
Dash- Head Slam
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
IMPERIALDRAMON (FIGHTING MODE)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
He is considered to be near the strength of Omnimon (especially since the
two DNA to become Imperialdramon Paladin Mode). It has one of the worst
GC attacks IMHO, second only to the slightly glicthy Omega Sword. But it's
normal attacks are quite good, which brings it up a notch in my good books.
Partner: Davis (Daisuke)
Evolves from: Veemon
T Attack- Splendor Blade
It does a kick, which is followed up with a slash.
O attack- Positron Laser (Air)
A more powerful version of the normal Blue Blaster.
[] attack- Punch/Rapid Attack
[] attack (air)- Kick/Rapid Attack
Throw- Front Kick
Dash- Rap Attack
GC Attack- Mega Crusher
Some martial arts, followed up by Mega Fire.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
IMPERIALDRAMON (PALADIN MODE)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The doubly evolved version of Imperialdramon (Dragon Mode), in truth it
should be from it's Fighting Mode DNA-Digivolved with Omnimon. Yet, it's
partners are Davis and the Digimon Emperor (Ken). Who cares?
Partner: Ken (Digimon Emperor) and Davis (Daisuke)
T attack- Splendor Blade
Kick, Slash. A solid attack.
O attack- Postiron Laser (Air)
Same old, same old.
GC attack- Omega Sword
Like Imperialdramon's (Fighting Mode) GC attack, it does some martial art
moves, but instead of doing Mega Fire, it knocks the opponent upwards and
finishes with a sword strike, exploding where it meets the opponent. There
seems to be a slight bug with the last sword strike. If the opponent lands
on a higher level of the stage, the strike usually doesn't seem to do
anything.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
IMPMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Impmon is a terrible imp of a Digimon; he delights in picking on anyone,
especially if they are helpless. Reminds me of the Jersey Devil in the game
Jersey Devil. Use Summon to cover yourself and Night's Fire when you need
a good, quick projectile. Impmon's throw (Destroyer) usually dizzies the
opponent.
Evolves to: Beelzamon (Blast Mode)
T attack- Summon
Three shards of ice appear a little way from Impmon, and fly straight
forward. If charged, the three little ice shards may amount to a 20+
combo. (Thanks to Black Throat for the info)
O attack- Baddaboom (Air)
Impmon fires/throws a small fireball with its hand.
[] attack- Punch/Rapid Punch
[] attack (air)- Punch/Kick/Hip Attack
Throw- Destroyer
Dash- Hip Attack
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
MAGNADRAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Magnadramon is a large, ten winged dragon Mega with unbelievable fire
attacks. Holy Fire is unbelievebly good projectile attack. I don't really
see the use of Dragon Breath though, seems like a slow, weak attack to me.
Partner: Kari (Hikari)
Evolves from: Gatomon (Tailmon)
T attack- Hermit Fog
Steam comes out of your mouth. Close range.
From: Grand Master of all Clans
'It charges your meter (obviously the digivolve meter...what else am I
talking about?) quickly. Its ability to be able to be done in mid-air and
knocking them down also serves as a specialty.
O attack- Fire Tornado (Air)
A large, blue projectile attack that spirals outwards. Cannot be stopped
by any attack (except Hallowed Knuckle, according to Foo Shieng Shieng)
[] attack- Head Slam/Rapid Slam
[] attack (air)- Head Slam
Throw- Heal Slam
Dash- Rotating Head Slam
GC attack- Apocalypse (Unblockable)
An area on the ground is 'marked' and if the opponent is in that area,
Magnadramon will somersault and lightning bolts will rain down on the
opponent. You can still attack using [] after the somersault, according
to Foo Shieng Shieng. Grand Master of all clans also tells me this can
hit your opponent while he/she/it is still down.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
MEGAGARGOMON (SAINTGARGOMON)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Looks more like a champion than a mega. For an evolution of a good
fighter, it's quite weak. It's T attack requires skill. But the homing
skills of it's Giant Missiles are nice.
Partner: Henry
Evolves from: Terriermon
T attack- Mega Twister
MegaGargomon does a karate chop, and if the enemy is succesfully knocked
down, MegaGargomon throws it. Hard to do succesfully
O attack- Gargo Missile (Air)
Two missiles are fired from his shoulders. These missiles home in, though
they start losing accuracy after a short period. It pushes you back when
you do it in the air.
[] attack- Punch/Rapid Punch
[] attack (air)- Spin/Bum Rush
Throw- Knuckle Knockdown
Dash- Bum Rush
GC attack- Mega Barrage
Fires a lot of missiles in a small area centering MegaGargomon.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
METALGARURUMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Metal version of Garurumon. A good long range fighter, it's downside is
that all of it's attacks go in a straight line. This Digimon rules
Reapremon's (Gokumon) stage though. I tend to get to a safe place and
start shooting Freeze Breaths and Garuru Tomahawks. Pity the red missile
of the Giga Cross Freezer moves in a straight line.
Partner: Matt (Yamato)
Evolves from: Gabumon
T attack- Garuru Tomahawk (Air)
Firing some missiles, it somersaults back. Be careful of edges.
From Grand Master of all clans:
'Virtually cannot kill but suprisingly, two or three repeated shots of
these can send your target to Dreamland (yeah, stun them) immediately (but
so can freeze breaths...- Skoban). Besides that, it also charges your
meter real fast...I assume it's 5-7 tomahawks, if you've the exact number
please inform me.'
O attack- Metal Wolf Claw (Air)
It fires a Blue Laser. It seems this laser needs some time to recharge,
and that it seems to stun enemies.
[] attack- Claw/Rapid Claw
[] attack (air)- Turn Kick
Throw- Snap Slam
Dash- Bum Rush
GC attack- G Cross Freezer
A lot of missiles come out of MetalGarurumons body. There is one large
red missile that also goes straight and many smaller homing missiles.
From Grand Master of all Clans:
'Giga Cross Freezer, which can, well, blow your opponent away. Try doing
it in a VERY close range, like, right in front of your target (but make
sure he's stunned first)'
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
OMNIMON (OMEGAMON)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Strangely, you can use this to fight Gabumon, MetalGarurumon, Agumon or
Wargreymon even though they share the same trainers. A good, if slightly
slow, fighter.
Partner: Tai (Taichi) and Matt (Yamato)
T attack- Transcendent Sword
Downward Slash followed by an upward slash. Its range is slightly longer
than the sword though.
O attack- Garuru cannon/Supreme cannon (Air)
Omnimon fires a blue shot with his Garurumon hand.
GC attack- Double Shot
Omnimon punches the ground with his/her/its Garurumon fist, causing a
wall of ice to appear (in a straight line), then follows up by punching
the ground again with his/her/its WarGreymon hand, making a straight
wall of fire, probably melting the ice as well.
From Grand Master of All Clans:
'The first shot, Icicle Beam (I heard Omnimon saying), has a funny
attribute. If you're a rookie (or champion, whatever) Digimon, you won't
get hurt by the Icicle Beam, unless you jump, because the part that
really hurts are the spikes. Didn't it go something like this?:
O <- Omnimon
/|\ A A A A A AxA A A A A A <- Spikes of the beam
|1n\ | | | | | |8| | | | | | <- Icicle Beam
x-where you'll get hurt
8-where you're safe, if you're short (rookie)
Mega Digimons cannot dodge that unless they block, cause they're too
tall to even duck. If you get hit by the Icicle Beam, you will be
frozen (no more jumping then).
The second shot, Cross Fire (Kowuresu Feyo, if I'm not deaf), when come
into contact, pushes you back. It can send you down the void, anything,
but doesn't squash you, again. You take the damage of one, that's all.'
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
PATAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Weak in my opinion, seems to have a powerful evolution. Can leap very
high, but still very sluggish when moving forwards.
Partner: T.K. (Takero)
Evolves to: Seraphimon
T attack- Slamming Attack
Patamon jumps toward the opponent. If it connects, Patamon will continue
attacking using its ears to push it upwards and as weapons.
O attack- Boom Bubble (Air)
Patamon fires a small bubble. It's hard to see if you have bad eyesight,
and it doesn't look that strong either.
[] attack- Ear Attack/Rapid Ear
[] attack (air)- Wing Attack/Head Butt
Throw- Rap Attack
Dash- Head Slam
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
REAPERMON (GOKUMON)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The boss. Not really that good in stages where you can fall out/down, but
great in corners
T attack- Grim Slasher
It does 2 or three slashes, and dashes. Usually falls out of stage though.
O attack- Bone Duster (Air)
He starts a fire directly in front of him. The name could start with Shu
or Sho, since the kana is a little bit unclear at it's loading screen.
GC attack- Burning Tornado*
He spins and spins, creating a tornado. Take care as to not be sucked in.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
RENAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
A personal favourite, Renamon is good in the hands of someone who knows
how to use it. First course of action: Run to a place where you won't be
attacked that easily. Then teleport, and unleash the fury of a Diamond
Storm.
Partner: Rika
Evolves to: Sakuyamon
T attack- Kohenkyo
Renamon changes places with the opponent. When done correctly, this
confuses a human opponent long enough to unleash a diamond storm.
O attack- Diamond Storm (Koyousetsu) (Air)
A attack that takes time. A green light appears in front of Renamon,
followed by lots of diamonds. You can aim it three ways: straight,
down-forward, up-forwards. You are quite vulnerable when doing this,
but if you are attacked when all the diamonds haven't come out, the
diamonds that have will still shoot forward. This attack doesn't knock
down opponents, but stuns them for a short while.
[] attack- Kick/Rapid Kick
[] attack (air)- Kick
Throw- Kick
Dash- Flying Kick
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
SAKUYAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Stylish, in a purple getup. It's attacks seem to be blue spirit dragons.
Strangely, its GC attack works best when the opponent is very close,
even though Sakuyamon seems to be a long range fighter. If you've got a
nice perch, Itsuna is good. And Shoenkoku has affects a large area.
Partner: Rika
Evolves from: Renamon
T attack- Fox Drive (Shoenkoku) (Air)
It lights a blue fire on the ground. Spirit dragons come out of that
flame and return, their trails making a spherical shape. If done in air,
it attacks downwards instead of forwards
O attack- Dragon Helix (Itsuna)
4 spirit dragons come out of its hand. You can control hem using the
D-pad. They return if attacked or after a certain time has passed. You can
also 'summon' them back by pressing X.
[] attack- Scepter/Rapid Scepter
[] attack (air)- Kick/Scepter
Throw- Scepter
Dash- Scepter Dash
GC attack- Talsman Sphere (Vajra Mandala)
Powerful. A circle of writing appears on the ground after you jump up and
mark a place with your staff. If your opponent steps onto the circle, it
will be rendered immobile. After some time, a large ball (centering
Sakuyamon) will appear, hurting anything in its path. The ball pushes your
opponent out, so you'll do even more damage in a corner.
From: Grand Master of all clans:
'If you get hit, fall off edges or you're on a falling platform in Outer
Heaven (and the Spinning Box stage, when it's spinning - Skoban) while
doing this, results depends. If you just make the jump and get hit, then
it's to bad, there goes your meter, for nothing. If, however, you
SUCCESSFULLY mark the ground with the staff, of course most opponent
(especially human opponent) will run for dear lives, but some might be
courageous enough to get closer and brave the Vajra Mandala! BUT, little
do they know that if they hit you while close by, the attack will still
go off! Replaced by a smaller ball, but the damage is still done to the
enemy (if, obviously, the opponent is near. Considering that the attack
is now smaller, it won't hurt anybody far away). However, if your
opponent's far away, and hits you with a projectile attack, the attack
will also go off, with a smaller ball, but with no satisfaction, since
you can't hit him anyway. It is only for a while, so don't expect a
cornered opponent's 10 Combo prize. Whether you fall off edges or get
hit, this only works if you've successfully marked a position with your
staff. Thus, this is considered successfully in doing the attack, and
your ENTIRE meter is used. You'll wish you have the white statue card...'
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
SERAPHIMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Seraphimon is the ten winged Mega form of Patamon. It is said he is
covered with the armor of Heaven. One of the best long range fighters in
my opinion, pity his GC attack is a 'point-blank' attack.
Partner: T.K. (Takero)
Evolves from: Patamon
T Attack- Seven Heavens (Air)
Shot at a 45 degree upwards angle. If done in air, shoots downwards.
O attack- Hallowed Knuckle (Air)
Average evolution projectile.
[] attack- Kick/Rapid Attack
[] attack (air)- Kick
Throw- Slam Down
Dash- Knee Kick
GC attack- Hallowed Ascension
You've got to be right *next* to the opponent for this to succeed, if you
do it elsewhere it just looks like a useless kick. Causes lightning to
strike your opponent from above, and does around a 10+ hit combo. Bloody
powerful in my opinion. By the way, if you only execute a kick (meaning
you failed doing this attack), you lose a small portion of your Digivolve
meter. Compared to what you can lose if you fail doing a GC attack with
any other Digimon.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
STINGMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
It is hard to believe the gentle Wormmon turns into the deadly Stingmon,
but it is true. Be careful with this Digimon--he has an extremely short
temper, and can be a merciless killer. The only champion evolution, yet
no less powerful than the Megas in this game (and many times more powerful
than the other champion Digimon, Gatomon). I use it mainly as an aerial
attacker, shooting Moon Shooters while jumping down on an opponent.
Partner: Ken, Digimon Emperor!
Evolves from: Wormmon
T attack- Spiking Strike (Air)
It dashes with a spike coming out of its hand. If done in air, attack is
done at a 45 degrees downwards angle.
O attack- Moon Shooter (Air)
Average evolution projectile. If done in air, attack is done at a 45
degrees downwards angle.
[] attack- Kick/Rapid Attack
[] attack (air)- Kick
Throw- Summersault Kick
Dash- Roundhouse Kick
GC attack- Evil Antenna
A close range attack that isn't too powerful, but eats up HP. Well, not
really, it seems to heal him, then damage the enemy.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
TERRIERMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Rabbit-like, Terriermon is a season 3 Digimon. It was also in the Digimon
movie. A good fighter, especially if you can beatifull do a T to O attack
- and follow up with another T attack.
Partner: Henry
Evolves to: MegaGargomon (SaintGargomon)
T attack- Terrier Torpedo (Air)
Terriermon spins, moving upwards and forwards. A great attack which catches
the opponent off guard.
O attack- Bunny Blast (Air)
A normal projectile attack.
[] attack- Ear Attack/Rapid Ear
[] attack (air)- Ear Attack/Head Slam
Throw- Knock Down
Dash- Head Slam
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
VEEMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Veemon is a mythical Digimon that brings good luck to his friends. Even
though Boom-boom Punch is quite unreliable, I consider Veemon to be better
than Agumon since it has the flexible Vee Headbutt.
Partner: Davis (Daisuke)
Evolves to: Imperialdramon (Fighting Mode)
T attack- Vee Punch
Veemon attacks by spinning both its hands, moving forwards as it does do.
O attack- Vee Head Butt (Air)
Veemons headbutt. If used in the air, this attack is done at a 45 degree
downwards angle. According to Kevin Malone <
[email protected]>, you
can cancel this move at any time by pressing any button. You can jump, do
a normal attack, do a Vee Punch, etc. any time during the animation.
[] attack- Punch/Rapid Punch
[] attack (air)- Head Slam/Kick
Throw- Wind Up Punch
Dash- Veemon Head Spear
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
WARGREYMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
One of the better evolutions, WarGreymon is blessed with the powerful
Terra Flare. Great Tornado is extremely flexible, and you can even attack
downwrds to inflict more damage to your opponent. Dramon cutter also
stops most enemies from coming close, and stops a large number of projectiles.
Partner: Tai (Taichi)
Evolves from: Agumon
T attack- Great Tornado (Air)
WarGreymon spins its body in a lying down way. Can be done twice in a row,
in any one of the eight major directions.
O attack- Mega Claw
Computer opponents are easily tricked by this attack. Downwards slash,
upwards slash. Magna Striker tells me that the upwards slash is a Fire Wall.
[] attack- Claw/Rapid Claw
[] attack (air)- Punch/Kick
Throw- Slam Down
Dash- Screw Turn Punch
GC attack- Terra Force (Air)
Immensly powerful. WarGreymon jumps up, Creates a *GIGANTIC BALL*, and
hurls it at the enemy. Unblockable.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
WORMMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The Digimon Emperor's Digimon, it's O attack has a short range, and it's
so slow. It's saving grace is it's extremely useful T attack.
Partner: Ken, the Digimon Emperor
Evolves to: Stingmon
T attack- Silk Thread (Air)
It spins 540 degrees, using some of it's antenna as a sharp blade
O attack- Sticky Net (Air)
Wormmon shoots it's silk at you, and if it connects (which isn't likely,
since it has such a short range) the opponent will be trapped in a cocoon
for a short time.
[] attack- Head Slam/Rapid Head
[] attack (air)- Rotating Head Slam
Throw- Body Slam
Dash- Rotating Tail Attack

5. THE BATTLEFIELD
=========================================================================
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
CARDS, BOMBS, AND WHATNOT
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Many items appear while you are fighting. Every stage has specific areas
where items appear. I find it easy to categorize them into four groups:
Unturned Cards, Turned Cards, Bombs, and Food.
Unopened Cards become turned cards after being attacked. Opened cards give
you different effects depending on the picture.
Bombs are normal bombs. If you come into contact with a bomb, it explodes.
After a certain period of time, the fuse lights up, and after a short
period of time, it explodes.
Food regains a small part of your life meter.
Chocolate (Food): Restore Life
Candy (Food): Restore Life
Bread (Food): Restore Life
Cross/Plus (Opened Card): Increase digivolve meter
Minus (Opened Card): Decrease digivolve meter
Ring (Unopened Card): Confuses the Digimon
Multiple Rings (Unopened Card): Seems to be a more advanced version of the
single ring
Wave (Card) : Force Digivolve (The digimon will digivolve
even though the player doesn't want to.
Doesn't work if your digivolve meter isn't
full
Grand Cross (Unopened Card): Increase the digivolve meter to max
Marble Bust (Unopened Card): Makes a white ring appear from the Digimon.
According to Aaron Yong, this doubles your
attack power.
Fire (Opened Card): Allow Digimon to shoot Fire projectile
Ice (Opened Card): Allow Digimon to shoot Ice projectile
Nature(?) (Opened Card): Allow Digimon to shoot Nature projectile
Blue Down- Arrow (Opened Card): Halves your Digimon's Attack power

AARON YONG'S STAGE GUIDE
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Well, someone actually made a stage guide. I'm surprised...ANyway, her it
is, in it's unedited form:
My Stage Guide format is:
Stage Name (made-up)
Stage layout
Features
Items location
Available Hazard
The stages are arranged from left to right, starting from the first stage
you see when you play VS mode...hit (->) to see all of the stages. If
there's anything you'd like to ask, you can always e-mail me at <see reply
address>. Now, here goes:
1. Stage Name: Power Plant/Disposal Facility
Stage Layout: A stationary platform at the very top of the stage, four
conveyor belt platform, arranged in such a manner that they'll throw you
into the large disposal void at the bottom of the stage, two moving platform
at both sides of the stage, a wide area at the bottom of the stage, and two
holes below the moving platforms at both sides.
Features: A crane at the top of the stage, that moves around, carrying
crates back and forth, and dropping them onto the conveyor belts. You can
get hit by the crane. When the crates are dropped, they can squash you if
you're below them. At the top left and right of the stage are tunnels that
connect to each other. If you enter either tunnel, you'll reappear at the
other tunnel. Note that you cannot enter the tunnel as your digivolved form.
Also note that a quick way to charge up your digivolve meter is to stand on
the highest platform and hold block (default [L1]). Only works for
digivolved Digimon.
Items location: They appear above the moving platforms on both sides of the
stages, or above the platform at the top of the stage. Sometimes, at the
center of the wide area. If an unopened card appears above the platform at
the top of the stage, it is mostly a double-strength card.
Available Hazard: After the four belts are filled with crates, a red alert
sounds. After three beeps, and one of two things can happen-the conveyor
belts start moving and the crates are rolled into the center, or, the belts
tilt, sending the crates (and you) into the middle. Either way, the wide
area below is reduced to only the two sides as the large cage door opens,
gulping the crates and, in this case, you. When you hear the alert, run to
safety, in this case, anywhere but the belts and the area below. You can
also fall into the holes at the side of the area. If that happens, you
respawn at the side of the wide area at your side.
2. Stage Name: Forest/Waterfall
Stage Layout: Straight forward. At the two sides, a stairs-like plateau,
with a tree branch on the top, which can be used to stand on. Besides that,
nothing much.
Features: All features are hazards.
Items location: On the stairs-like plateau at both sides, and on the tree
branch. Sometimes (but rarely), at the center, or quarter-way, of the entire
stage. Random.
Available Hazard: Rolling rocks! Think "keep rolling rolling" because rocks
will periodically roll to the stage from the cave in the background. Rocks
come in three different sizes-pebbles (heh heh, small), stones (medium), and
RealRocks™(Big, in caps). Small and medium rocks knock you to an area on the
stage. Big rocks knock you down the waterfall, and you respawn on the tree
branch at your side. Small rocks can be moved with some attacks (but
definitely not the usual 3 Combo hit!) and sent to smash on your victim.
They cannot be blocked. :)
3. Stage Name: Pinball Machine/Something like it
Stage Layout: Lotsa platforms and disappearing platforms. A box. Big box.
With you and your opponent in it. Enough said.
Features: Disappearing platforms, well, they disappear after you step on
them for a period of time. They will be replaced by another platform
somewhere else, so to maintain the number of platforms there are at one
time. Also, periodically, the stage will spin in any direction. You can see
where is it heading in the middle of the stage when it starts spinning. It
can go 90 degrees or 180 degrees, clockwise or counter-clockwise. The
drawback? If you're doing a GC attack while the stage is spinning, it'll
completely miss your victim. Very frustrating!
Items location: In the middle of the stage, and above all the platforms.
Random.
Available Hazard: When the stage spins, several explosive boxes will appear
at strategic positions, and when you come into contact with them (or are
near them), you take damage. :P
4. Stage Name: Outer Heaven/Sky Arena
Stage Layout: Multi-platform, lotsa falling platform, floating boxes, a
statue like thing in the middle, and, a big TV screen to view the fight! :)
All, but no standard land! You're fighting in mid-air! You're in heaven!
Features: Stepping on a falling platform for a period will cause it to fall,
taking you with it! Remember to jump. :) If someone is below the platform,
he/she/it will get squashed. After a period of time, when the sky gets dark,
the boxes that float in and out will emit lightning bolts in a cross (+)
pattern that pretty much shocks you. The statue in the center will also emit
lightning, but only between its jaws. One more feature is, well, the big TV
at the upper center of the stage. It shows everything that happens during
the fight, even the word 'EVOLUTION' and the pause menu ([Start] button).
Cool! :)
Items location: On the platforms at the sides. Sometimes above the top
platform. If an unopened card appears at the upper side platforms, they are
mostly full-meter cards. Foods and bombs usually appear at the lower side
platforms.
Available Hazard: Falling down to earth! O_O;! And you respawn. o_o. Fall
out of the stage, and you'll respawn on the top most platform at your side.
Other hazards include getting shocked.
5. Stage Name: Digital World's North/South Pole/Natural Refrigerator
Stage Layout: Three floors. The center floor is the longest. Two moving
platforms at the lower ground. Besides that, please note, this is an island,
so you can fall outta stage.
Features: Below each floor (except for the bottom) are icicles that fall
periodically. Doesn't hurt, I think, but is really annoying and frustrating
when you do a GC attack and gets interrupted, considering you still use up
you meter but doesn't seem to give any satisfaction! Another feature is,
after a while, the two sides of the center floor will break, causing the
floor to be shorter. They won't break at the same time, don't worry.
Items location: At the sides of the top and center floor, and the middle of
the bottom floor. The unopened cards at the side of the center floors are
mostly double-strength card.
Available Hazard: Falling out of stage, and freezing.
6. Stage Name: Volcano
Stage Layout: A platform where you start, then two platforms above and below
the sides of the starting platform. A plateau at both sides of the stage,
and islands at the bottom, surrounded by not water, but lava!
Features: Volcanic eruption! Periodically, the lava at the bottom will spray
magma and toasting any victims nearby. You can tell when a volcano is
erupting if the large face (eye and mouth) in the background starts to glow!
Items location: On the plateau on both sides, and over the lava at the
bottom. Sometimes, in the center of the large platform (where you start). If
the lower left card is unopened, it is mostly a full-meter card, while
unopened cards at the bottom center and lower right would be mostly
double-strength. The item that appears on the large platform can be food or
bomb, but no card.
Available Hazard: Falling into the lava, and you respawn on the large
platform at your side. Your health will continue to decrease for a while
before respawning. This is the effect of the lava's heat! To be killed by
the lava is to be 'boiled'.
7. Stage Name: Back Dimension/Deep Void/Outer Space
Stage Layout: One whole straight walkway.
Features: Long, long, long way before the end of the road.
Items location: No items.
Available Hazard: Continuously running, and suddenly come to the end,
cornered by your nightmare (in many cases, Reapermon/Gokumon).
If there's anything I missed, or anything you do not understand, please
e-mail me so I can correct them. My e-mail is
[email protected]
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
EXTRA STAGE
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Afdter beating Reapermon (Gokumon) a few times (or with a certain
character, I'm not sure), you open his stage, the void.
=========================================================================
6. BONUS GAMES
=========================================================================
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
DIAMOND KICK*
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
You use a ball like in Hoop Kick (see below). However, this time, you can
move. Your targets are the diamonds that appear above your head. There
are three types of diamonds, red, yellow and green.
A corrected version was given to me by Aaron Yong
<
[email protected]>
The difference between the diamonds are:
Red: Least points, 100.
Green: Moderate points, 200.
Yellow: Most points, 500!
And some of his comments:
Not all yellow diamonds move. Some stay immobile. If you see that, better
get it first! Oh, and there's no difference in rarity. All diamonds come and
go as they like. Just pay attention to the yellow ones and you're guaranteed
a win. Please note that this is the place to get lots of points if you want
to get in the hall of fame.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
HOOP KICK*
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Press and hold [] to make a ball appear. The longer you hold the []
button, the more power you hit the ball with. You have to try to make the
ball enter the hoop, which sounds easy, except that the hoop is being
moved around by Kurumon. You have to make 10 succesful shots.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
PUNCHING BAG*
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Tap [] repeatedly to fill up the meter. If you can fill it faster than
your opponent, you win. If you are using a Digimon that can evolve,
it evolves when the meter is full.

7. MISC. STUFF
=========================================================================
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
SOFT RESET
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Just like some games (notably Squaresoft ones), you can soft reset in
this game by pressing L1+R1+L2+R2+Select+Start
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
SELECTING THE SAME CHARACTERS
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Thanks to Omega X (
[email protected]) for informing me how to do this!
Ever wish you and your friend could both choose Veemon at the same time?</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
or Omnimon, or any other Digimon? Well now you can! Listen carefully:
When choosing, the second person to choose the character will have to
hold down the select button, and press O.
No noticable difference is discernable, but in the battle, the second
players Digimon will be a different colour! I still haven't found out how
to use the second Digimon colour without choosing the same Digimon.
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
CHANGING COSTUMES
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Tai (Taichi), Matt (Yamato), T.K. (Takeru), and Kari (Hikari) are all in
their season 2 forms. These four can also be seen in their season 1 forms.
Hold either L1 or R1 and press circle on their Digimon Partner (So, if
you want to use the younger form of Tai, use the code on Agumon/Wargreymon)
If you use the code on Omnimon (Omegamon), Tai(Taichi) and Matt(Yamato) will
appear in their season 2 form instead of Movie form.
Ken will also appear in his Digimon Emperor form if you use this trick on
Wormmon or Stingmon, (but strangely, not on Imperialdramon Paladin Mode)
And, by using this code in versus mode, the BGM in the battle will be the
music from Season 1 ("Butterfly"/Season 1 Opening, and "Brave Heart")
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
HIDDEN CHARACTERS
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+

FIGHT BLACKWARGREYMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Never lose a round. This does not include the bonus round, though.
On your second last level, he'll be your new challenger. He uses the same
moves as WarGreymon, but his GC attack seems different. After getting him,
I don't seem to be able to fight him anymore.
