INTRODUCTION
*******************************************************
Welcome to the world of Blue Breaker! This game became a cult hit on the PC-FX system in Japan. Many
non-Japanese players also become attracted to the game because of its artwork, and may end up buying
the game used online. However, I am sure that most of these players never learn how to actually play
the game, and end up saying things like, "It looks interesting, but I can't figure out how to play
it." It is true that it is a very complicated game, but I think it is actually even more complicated
than most would imagine. Not only is the game in Japanese, but it is so complicated that most
Japanese players have almost as much trouble figuring out the game as non-Japanese do. I think this
is because it is just such a unique game, and isn't driven forward the same way that normal RPG's
are. It is extremely complicated, and there are many things that the player must think about as he
plays through the game, including the feelings of your party members toward the main character.
That's right, this is a "love RPG" - a sort of hybrid between an RPG and a dating game like Tokimeki
Memorial. While you are playing the game, you will have to pay close attention to the level of how
much the female characters like the main character, which I will refer to as "love level" throughout
this FAQ for lack of a better term.
The most difficult thing about Blue Breaker is its ambiguity. Even though it is very important that
you do everything perfectly, the game gives you very little feedback to indicate how well you are
doing, so you will often end up wondering if you are doing the right thing, or just wasting your
time. In most cases, it will be the latter of the two. And the game can sometimes really be a bitch
and seem like it is trying to mock you or waste your time. Blue Breaker is probably the cruelest
game ever created in that respect. The other thing that tends to turn players off in regard to Blue
Breaker is the repetitiveness of the game. The majority of the game consists of just walking either
left or right and fighting automatic battles. If you get past both of these things though, it can be
ONE OF THE MOST REWARDING GAMES EVER. Yes, the main action of the game can seem boring and
repetitive, but you need to understand that Blue Breaker's appeal lies in different places than it
does in most typical RPG's like Final Fantasy. The game is event-driven and the player is given a
lot of freedom. The game's fun and challenge lies in managing everything yourself and finally
triggering those rewarding, REWARDING event sequences, not just progressing the game forward as in a
typical RPG. (There is nothing more satisfying than seeing an event finally trigger. It hardly ever
happens when you think it will.) It WILL take you a long time to master the game and begin to feel
comfortable working your way through and attempting to trigger the events. It took me about four or
five years (no kidding!). I have done absolutely everything within my power in this FAQ to allow you
to learn how to play the game, but you still have a ridiculously difficult task ahead of you if you
plan on learning to play this game. Do not expect this FAQ to make things easy. There is no FAQ in
the world that could possibly make Blue Breaker into an easy game. Blue Breaker is one of my
favorite games, but it is certainly not for everyone. In fact, there are probably very few people
who it really is for.
I have tried to make this FAQ usable even to those who can't read a bit of Japanese, but
realistically you should AT LEAST be able to read hiragana and katakana if you hope to have any
success at all. If you can't read the names of the characters and places, you cannot hope to achieve
much success in playing the game. At points where the player is asked to make decisions I have tried
to provide instructions for which choices to make, but I have not been able to provide most of them
because I have not actually done all of these parts since I started writing the FAQ. If you cannot
read the decisions, you may need to load your game if you make an incorrect decision. (Save
constantly! Sorry Playstation people...)
Having said all of that (you have been warned!) I wish you luck. Now go and find the bride and
adventure of your dreams, young blue breaker.

INTRODUCTION TO THE CHARACTERS
*******************************************************
%%%MAIN CHARACTERS%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
-Kain: The protagonist. You always have him in your party, and he's the only character that you have
direct control over. If he dies, it's all over. He doesn't have a voice, because he's supposed to be
you, the player.
-Asha: The first girl you'll get to join you in your quest. You begin the game with her in your
party. She's a blue-green haired sorceress from the country of Shine. She seems to have some kind of
past involving Kain, but Kain can't quite remember...
-Karmi: She's an infamous swordswoman from the country of HAIIDO. She has blue hair and red armor.
She's very manly, tough, and confident. She loves to get into fights. She also has some indirect
connection to Kain...
-Sarge: A strange girl who practices voodoo and isn't afraid to use it. She has light blue hair.
Most of the other characters really dislike her.
-Turner: She's a tree sprite from the woodland country of AIRII. She has long yellow hair and uses a
bow and arrows.
-Naruta: A mysterious older girl with straight black hair. She has kind of a cold attitude, and
always treats Kain like a kid. She attacks with a large scythe. When you first find her, she is
surrounded by dead bodies. What can her secret be...
-Hammune: A young wizard's assistant with brown hair. She's a very young girl, about the same size
as Turner. She's not very good at battle, but attempts to hit the enemies with a staff.
-Maya: A mysterious girl from the country of SHINMA with light blue hair. She is very polite, and is
always thinking of others more than herself. She has some self-esteem issues. She attacks with a
retractable staff.
-Yarm: She's a treasure hunter from the country of SHIBA with short, red hair. She is extremely
quick, and cat-like, and attacks with a small knife. Is she really a "treasure hunter" or just a
common thief?
-Wise: The first secret character of Blue Breaker. She won't join you in your first time through the
game. She is a goddess-like woman with silver hair. She is apparently not human. In your first time
through the game, she will be called "???" and will appear occasionally to give you guidance.
-Lamille: The second secret character of Blue Breaker. She will only join you after a happy ending
with Wise. She is the Golem Master. She will send numerous Golems to fight against you before she
joins you in your quest.
-Rekka: The third secret character of Blue Breaker. She will only join you after a happy ending with
Lamille. She is a mysterious warrior. She doesn't appear at all in the game before she joins you.
%%%OTHER CHARACTERS%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
-Deeza: Kain's father. You'll see him at the beginning of the game. He sets Kain off on a mission to
find a bride, giving him only a legendary sword called touga and a mysterious bracelet, instructing
him to place it upon an alter near their home. He appears at various other times, and he sometimes
comes to drag the characters back to the guild after they've been taken out. He seems to have some
sort of past as a famous warrior, but there are lots of things that he won't share with Kain...
-Inar: A famed warrior from the kingdom of TOORU. He rescues Kain and befriends him at a certain
point in the game. He is somewhat of a rival to Kain. He will appear several times in the game to
help out Kain.
-Level Up Fairie: A weird fairie who will appear sometimes after Kain gets a level up. She always
asks which of the two characters in the party Kain likes better and then leaves.
-The Four Masters: Four bosses who will frequently appear and attack Kain at random times on the
main field. What is their real purpose, and are they really evil?
--Magic Master: A big scary guy with a cape. You can see his one eye, but no other facial features.
--Sword Master: Another large guy with a huge sword. His sword is another one of the legendary
swords of the world.
--Golem Master: She is Lamille. See above under "MAIN CHARACTERS". She summons golems to attack you
every time you meet her.
--Undead Master: An extremely evil-looking guy with a skull for a face and hair that looks like it
came off of a dead body. He summons undead beasts to attack you. He has some connection to Inar...
-Dark Lord: He was revived when Kain placed the bracelet upon the alter at the beginning of the game.
Kain's quest then becomes to defeat the Dark Lord and also find a bride. There may also be more to
this Dark Lord than meets the eye.
-The High Priestess of Shine: Asha studied under her. She also seems to have some sort of a
connection to Deeza.
-KUUMA: An old magician at the country of MAGU. Hammune is his assistant.
-Dragon Lord: A mysterious stone statue of a Dragon at the northeast most point of the world. He is
said to be one of the six Gods of the world.
-Ifrit: An old spirit with fiery hair who lives in a cave. He is the legendary spirit of fire.
*******************************************************
THE WORLD OF BLUE BREAKER
*******************************************************
The world that Blue Breaker takes place in is called "kokuu no michi", or "the path in the middle of
empty sky". It's a floating word, made up of islands connected by land bridges. It consists of
countries and the intermediate zones that come between those countries. Below is a brief description
of the countries, and where they are located. There are a few other countries that exist, but I will
list only those visible from the map screen.
-Kain's house: This is where you begin the game. You will become unable to travel back here until
the high priestess of Shine opens the path from Shine to Kain's house.
borders: Shine, RAAWA
-RAAWA: The land of flowers. This is the first country you come to with Asha after leaving Kain's
house.
borders: Kain's house, intermediate zone 1
-Shine: The country of ice. Asha hails from this country. It is famous for its priests and
priestesses.
borders: Kain's house, intermediate zone 1
-HAIIDO: A Kingdom famous for its sword fighters. Karmi hails from this country.
borders: intermediate zone 1, intermediate zone 2
-Rhuin: A country with mysterious rhuins below it. You meet Sarge here.
borders: intermediate zone 1, intermediate zone 3
-MAGU: The country of magic. You meet Hammune and KUUMA here.
borders: intermediate zone 2, intermediate zone 3, intermediate zone 4, the destroyed country
-AIRII: The tree country where the tree sprites live. Turner hails from this country.
borders: intermediate zone 3, the destroyed country
-The Ice Mountain: A mountain of ice located on the lower-right side of the map. You can go to this
country at any time, but you will need a special item you will acquire later in the game in order to
explore it.
borders: intermediate zone 3
-the destroyed country: A now dark and ruined country with nothing left. There's no guild here. What
is the secret of this now extinct country?
borders: AIRII, MAGU
-SHINMA: A mysterious kingdom of machines, golems, and technology. Maya hails from this country.
borders: intermediate zone 4
-RUKAANO: The country of volcanoes. When you first come here, you will notice tremors signaling that
the volcano here is about to erupt.
borders: intermediate zone 4, intermediate zone 5
-REKUTAA: The country of water and swamps. The drinking water there is famous.
borders: intermediate zone 4, intermediate zone 5, intermediate zone 6
-the place of the Dragon Lord: This is the land on the upper-right side of the map where the statue
of the Dragon Lord is located.
borders: intermediate zone 6
-SHIBA: The country of mountains. Yarm hails from this country. Located just above TOORU.
borders: intermediate zone 6, intermediate zone 7
-TOORU: The most powerful kingdom in the world. They have a powerful army of knights. Inar hails
from this country. Located just below SHIBA.
borders: intermediate zone 6, intermediate zone 7
-FUROORU: A mysterious kingdom. There is an invisible force field between this country and
intermediate zone 7, so no one can get there.
borders: intermediate zone 7, KUNESU
-KUNESU: The land where the Dark Lord is said to reside.
borders: FUROORU
-DIITA: A tiny piece of land, located just above Shine on the map. There are no land bridges
connecting this country to the rest of the world, so you will need to find another way to get there.
borders: nothing

DAYS OF THE WEEK/PROTECTORS
*******************************************************
In the world of Blue Breaker there are six protector gods, and each day of the week is watched over
by one of the six protectors. Each protector also has one element attributed to it, and thus what
magic is most powerful on a particular day is determined. There is also a seventh day of the week
which has no protector. On this day you may use no magic or special techniques and you can't find
any of the points which raise you EP level. (see the search command under "BASIC CONTROLS, THE MAIN
FIELD") Each character in the game also has a protector that watches over him/her. This determines
what kind of magic they can use and on which days they are the most strong/weak. The protectors/days
of the week are listed below in chronological order.
-NOORISU: protector of light. opposite element: darkness
-TOOREI: protector of fire. opposite element: water
-KOORUDA: protector of water. opposite element: fire
-OUGA: protector of wind. opposite element: earth
-SOGAIA: protector of earth. opposite element: wind
-RODISU: protector of darkness. opposite element: light
*******************************************************
BEGINNING THE GAME
*******************************************************
%%%CHOOSING A PROTECTOR%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
When you begin a new game, you will immediately be faced by a decision with six choices. This
decision determines who your protector will be. Your answer will determine some of your status
attributes and what magic you begin the game with. It also determines on which day of the week you
will be strongest, and on which day you will be weakest. (see "DAYS OF THE WEEK" above) When you
choose them, they are listed (from top to bottom, left to right): light, water, earth, fire, wind,
darkness. As for status attributes, if you pick "wind" you will have extra speed, etc. I recommend
choosing either wind or fire for beginners because it will give you a powerful single-enemy attack
for defeating the Four Masters, and you will get a multiple-enemy attack soon enough when you reach
level 10 and defeat Wise. For more advanced players, if you want the game to be interesting, choose
darkness, because the technique that you get to start with when you choose darkness is a technique
that you normally get late in the game, and it often has interesting, unpredictable effects on the
enemies. No matter which you pick though, you will be able to finish the game. Don't worry about it
too much. You will also acquire all of the spells eventually as you progress the game, regardless of
which you chose.
%%%THE BATTLE WITH SASURAI%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Soon after you choose a protector, Kain's father, Deeza will make you fight a guy named "SASURAI".
You can just watch it and you will automatically win. If you try hard enough though, you can lose if
you want to, in which case Deeza will just make you fight him again until you win.
%%%THE ADVENTURER'S GUILD%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
After you place the wristband on the altar and revive the Dark Lord, Kain and Asha will immediately
proceed to the adventurer's guild at RAAWA. You will be asked four questions at the guild. You must
answer all of them accurately, or else Asha will get angry and her love level will probably go down.
The first question is whether you want to register at the guild or not. The top option is "yes", and
the bottom is "no". Choose the top option. The second question is whether you would like to register
as a warrior or a sorcerer. It would be kind of cool if you had a choice, but no matter what, Kain
is a warrior, and you must answer the question accurately. The top option is warrior, the second is
sorcerer. The next question is your protector. Choose the same one you choose at the very beginning.
They appear in the same order again this time, which is (from top to bottom, left to right): light,
water, earth, fire, wind, darkness. Asha will ask the final question, "What do you plan to do now?".
The top option is "Go to defeat the Dark Lord!". The second is, "Look for a bride." Choose the first
option.
---MENU COMMANDS AT THE GUILD--------------------------
*note: Commands are listed in the same order they appear on the menu at the guild. You must take
into account though that the "add party member" and "drop party member"commands aren't available at
the guilds in the intermediate areas. When you enter a guild at a country, you will say goodbye to
your two party members, and you will have to form a party again. This doesn't happen at the guilds
of the intermediate areas.
-"talk": Use this command to talk to your characters. You can talk to any characters who are at the
guild. Try to talk to each character who you are trying to please at least once every time you visit
a guild. This command does not raise the character's love level, but rather "consummates" the
characters' feelings toward Kain. If you don't use this command, all of your work to please them
will have no effect at all. Their love level isn't officially raised until you use this command. You
will know you are making progress when you hear the character's theme music play after choosing to
talk to them.
-"present": You use this command to give presents to the characters. This is NOT used to give the
characters equipment that you want to equip them with. You can do that any time with the party menu.
If you give a character an item that they like, their love level will rise. If you give them an item
they don't want, they will feel insulted and their love level will drop. Most items, however, are
pretty neutral and won't really raise or drop their love level at all. This command is more or less
optional. You really don't need to use it at all. Even if you give them something they really want,
it will only raise their love level about the same amount as a day of good playing with them in your
party. According to Japanese FAQs I've read, this command should be used only to see the character's
response.
-"add party member": You should usually save your game before selecting this command. You may have
two girls in your party. When you select this command, you will first be given one character
automatically. Every time you form a party, there will be one character who you must add, and will
have to join whether she wants to or not. It goes in a rotation, so it's not completely random. You
can drop her if you must, but she won't be happy, so don't drop her unless she is a character who
you are not trying to please. After you are automatically given a character, you can choose one more.
You may choose only those characters who are currently at the guild. When you ask a character to
join, there is always some chance that she will agree and some chance she will refuse. This is
random, but if she currently hates you, she will be more likely to refuse, and if she currently
likes you, she will be more likely to agree. If you aren't happy with your options, you can stay the
night and get a new set of characters and a fresh chance to ask a character who refused to join the
day before. If you still aren't happy with the results, you can load your data from before you
started adding characters and start all over again. It is always possible to get the party you want.
(see "HOW TO FORM A PARTY, MAKING THE PARTY" below for more info)
-"drop party member": If you have someone in your party that you don't want, you can use this
command to remove her. This really upsets the character, so don't use this unless she is someone
whose love level you really don't care about.
-"buy items": You can use this to buy restoration items and equipment. The selection varies
depending on which guild you are at, and how far into the game you are.
-"stay overnight": This is basically the "inn" command. When you use this, it becomes the next day
and restores the HP and EP of Kain and all of the characters, even if they aren't currently in your
party. After your party members have defeated about 7-9 battles for the day, you need to use this
command or they will become upset.
-"diary": This keeps a record of the major events that have taken place up to now. This is useful if
you want to review a recent entry to figure out what you are supposed to do next. Especially useful
if you resume a game after having not played for a long period of time and don't remember what you
were going to do next.
-"party menu" This is the same menu that you can access at any time from the main field, and from
the main screen of every location. See "THE PARTY MENU" below.
-"load": Use this command to load your data.
-"save": Use this command to save your data. You should use this before and after forming a party
for best results.
-"exit guild": Use this command to leave the guild. If you have not yet added any party members, it
will automatically add the mandatory member, and allow you to pick another before exiting.

*******************************************************
FORMING A PARTY
*******************************************************
Unlike regular RPGs, when forming a party in Blue Breaker you must take more things into account
than what battle capabilities the characters have. You also must take into account which characters
you want to please, and how well they get along with other characters.
%%%DECIDING WHICH CHARACTERS TO "GO AFTER"%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Many players just don't know how to begin going about this, but don't worry, you don't necessarily
need to have a "master plan" for the whole game. First, you should begin by trying to please one
character. While doing this, you should also try your best to keep the other characters you are
using as happy as possible. It is possible to get happy endings for two, three, or maybe even four
of the characters in one game, but in the beginning, you should keep your sights low. You will begin
to see which characters are responding, and you can continue to build their love levels from there.
-You will probably want to try and raise Asha's love level at the very beginning of the game because
this is necessary in order to find Hammune. Even if you aren't trying to please Asha in the long run,
this is probably a good idea. You will still have plenty of time to begin working on other
characters before the game is over. In fact, you can pretty much get any character to like Kain if
you have ten weeks or more.
-After you pick a character to please, you will probably want to try to also please the character
who gets along with her best (see chart below, characters marked as +50%). Good character
combinations to start with are Maya and Sarge, or Karmi and Yarm, or Turner and Hammune (providing
that you can find Hammune). Maya is also usually agreed on as having the easiest happy ending to get,
so you may want to start with Sarge and Maya. Karmi and Yarm, on the other hand, is an extremely
strong party that will make defeating the battles a cinch. However, their happy endings are a bit
more difficult to get than Maya's.
%%%MAKING THE PARTY%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Even if you already know which characters you want, actually making the party at the guild isn't
that simple because you can't just select which characters you want, you have to ask them to join.
Follow these steps to make a party.
1. When you enter a guild where you need to change party members (ie, not a guild at the
intermediate zones), the first thing you should do is save your game. (You may talk to characters
first if you wish.)
2. Select "add member" and see which character automatically gets added. If she is one of the
characters you want, keep her. If she isn't, and you don't mind pissing her off, you can drop her.
3. If the second character you want is there, ask her to join. If she says no, stay the night and
ask again. If she says no again, load your game. (This is where the Playstation version can become
annoying due to the amount of time it takes to save and load with the memory cards.) If your
character isn't there in the first place, you need to stay the night and see if she is there the
next day, and then you can ask her. If she says no, load your game. You may want to save your game
on the second day when she is there before you ask her to speed things up.
4. Save your game after you have the party you want and have stayed the night once. This way, you
won't need to make the party again if things go awry and you need to load your game.
-You can also save your game after step 2 to speed things up if it begins to be tedious.
-If you drop the character that gets automatically added, it will be more difficult to form a party
because you will need to get two characters to agree to join.
-Characters will be more or less willing to join based on their love levels, but no matter what
their love level is, there is always some randomness to it. No matter how much she hates Kain, there
is still some chance she will join, and no matter how much she loves Kain, there is still some
chance she won't join. It is always possible to get the characters you want, if you just try enough
times.
-Don't stay the night more than once. You will need to stay the night anyway when you go to the
guild. (Even if you don't stay the night, it will be the next day after you leave and go out on the
field.) You just use it to give you more opportunities to get who you want. Don't stay the night
more than once though, that's a waste of a day. Besides, you shouldn't need to anyway.
-Forming a party this way may seem tedious or ridiculous sometimes with all the saving and loading,
but don't give up. Eventually, if you are choosing characters who are on good terms with Kain, it
shouldn't be too hard to get who you want. If you are playing the Playstation version though, I can
understand why you might get frustrated and give up.
%%%PICK A PARTY THAT GETS ALONG%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Another important thing to take into account is how well the two characters in your party get along.
If they get along well, the stats of all the party members will be increased by 50% or 25%. If they
get along badly, the stats will be decreased by 50% or 25%. There are also parties which are neutral
and do not change the characters's stats. You don't have to pick a party that gets along well,
oftentimes you won't be able to, but you will have a much easier time if you do. The following chart
shows what effect each character combination will have on the party's stats. This chart will only
display right if you are using an equally proportioned font and have enough horizontal room for the
whole chart on your screen. You may want to print this chart out and use it as a handy guide while
playing the game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-If you pick a party marked as -50%, the love level of the second character will go down when you
add her. Other than that, I don't think that the effects marked on this chart have anything to do
with love level, though I could be wrong. At the very least, having a party that gets along can have
a positive effect on love level by making it easier to win battles and defeat the Four Masters.
-However, later in the game, you may become unable to group a party marked as +25% or +50%. If both
the characters are on a high love level, they may become jealous of each other and refuse to work
together anymore. This only happens to pairs marked as +25% or +50%. When this happens, you have no
choice but to make a different party. It is still possible to put these two characters together
under special circumstances, for instance, when the character who automatically joins your party is
one of the two and you have already made a promise to add the other character. You have little
control over this however. This can be a good opportunity, though, to break up the two characters
whose love levels are already high into two separate parties, and try to please two other characters.
%%%CHARACTERS' SPECIAL EFFECTS%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Each character has two special effects that will affect your party. The first of which will affect
the WHOLE party whenever she is in the party. You can read about these in Japanese in the game. They
are listed in the text box below the character's picture when you are selecting them in the add/drop
character menus. The second special effect affects only that character. These require a secret
command to be viewed in the game. To do so, you must hold select while toggling to a different
character in the add/drop character menus. You must press and hold it just as you press left or
right to view a different character, and release when that character comes up. (This command is for
the PC-FX version. It may work in the Playstation version.) At any rate, I will list all of these
special effects below.
---AFFECTS WHOLE PARTY---------------------------------
-Asha: As you walk around, the party's HP will be gradually restored.
-Karmi: The attack power of all the characters will be multiplied by 1.5.
-Sarge: When you enter a battle, all of the enemies will have lost a little HP already.
-Turner: As you walk around, the party's EP will be gradually restored.
-Naruta: When you enter a battle, all of the enemies' defense will be lowered a bit.
-Hammune: The magic defense of all the characters will be multiplied by 1.2.
-Maya: Characters will never miss attacks, and critical hits will become more common.
-Yarm: When you beat a battle, the amount of money you receive will be greater.
-Wise: When you beat a battle, the amount of experience you receive will be multiplied by 1.2.
-Lamille: When you enter a battle, all of the enemies' dexterity will be lowered a bit.
-Rekka: All of the character's defense will be multiplied by 1.3.
---AFFECTS THAT CHARACTER ONLY-------------------------
-Asha: She can automatically revive after death, but only once.
-Karmi: When her HP falls below 10%, her regular attacks will be critical hits at certain times.
-Sarge: When her HP falls below 10%, her magic power will be doubled at certain times.
-Turner: When her HP falls below 10%, she can't be damaged by special attacks at certain times.
-Naruta: When her HP falls below 10%, she can't be damaged by regular attacks at certain times.
-Hammune: When her HP falls below 10%, at a certain time, she may use a special attack twice in one
turn (but only once).
-Maya: When her HP falls below 10%, her special attacks won't use any EP at certain times.
-Yarm: When her HP falls below 10%, her dexterity will be multiplied by 2.5 at certain times.
-Wise: She can revive dead party members an unlimited number of times.
-Lamille: When her HP falls below 10%, her attack power will be doubled at certain times.
-Rekka: When her HP falls below 10%, her attack power will be tripled at certain times.

HOW TO PLEASE THE GIRLS
*******************************************************
It seems that this is where most players have trouble. The game is very ambiguous as to how exactly
you raise their girls' love levels. It's extremely counter-intuitive, even for most Japanese players.
Many Japanese FAQs claim that the girls' love levels will raise naturally if you play the game
normally, but this is bull$@#&. The problem is that most of us just don't understand what "playing
the game normally" means, because Blue Breaker is such a mysterious and unique game. In the back of
the manual, Deeza gives some tips for how to do this, but even this is very ambiguous and isn't much
help. There are many things that will raise and lower a character's love level, but it seems there
are many important things that most players don't catch on to. These are listed in the following
section, "IMPORTANT TIPS".
%%%IMPORTANT TIPS%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
-Put the characters whose level you want to raise in your party. Their feelings toward Kain will not
grow unless they are adventuring with him. You may need to sometimes "force" the game to give you
the characters you want (see "FORMING A PARTY" above), but you must make sure that you have the
character(s) whose love level you want to raise in your party for the majority of your adventure.
-Presents should only be used if you want to see the character's response: Many players make the
mistake of assuming that the present command is very important, and by continuously showering a
character with presents you will win her heart. The "present" command is more or less optional. You
really don't need to use it at all. Even if you give them something they really want, it will only
raise their love level about the same amount as a day of good playing with them in your party.
According to Japanese FAQs I've read, this command should be used only to see the character's
response.
-run from battles as seldom as possible: When you run from battles, the love level of the characters
currently in your party will drop a little. The game makes this unclear as there seems to be no
consequence for running. When I first started playing the game, I used to run from everything
sometimes in order to get where I wanted to go. Little did I know this was wreaking havoc on my
characters' love levels. If possible, don't run from battles. We who have spent a lot of time
playing the game, however, know that it is sometimes necessary when playing special parts. Running
is a much better option than fighting too many battles and getting the characters REALLY tired and
mad. So, you need to be very careful about that. Running away once or twice during special parts is
okay, but you should never run while moving from country to country. You may want to use a party of
characters whose love levels you don't care about for some parts where you need to fight too many
battles.
-The best number of battles to fight in a day is about 7-9.: If you've played the game long enough,
you know that fighting too many battles in a day severely upsets the characters, while fighting none
also severely upsets them. You probably know that you want to aim for somewhere in between, but you
may not know that there is a "sweet spot" that will give you optimal results. According to a
Japanese FAQ, this optimal number of battles to fight in a day is about 7-9. You can either turn
around before you reach your destination and take in a few more battles to put you at 7, or if the
battles seem to be thin today, you can move right through the next country and try to take 7-9
battles by "double-moving", travelling through two fields in one day. Be careful though, because
sometimes, depending on the character and their current standing, 8 or 9 can be one too many. And
yes, fighting a boss or one of the Four Masters DOES count as a battle.
-beat the Four Masters: When you beat one of the Four Masters, the love level of the girls in your
party will raise by a lot. If you lose to them or run away, it will drop. Try to beat them without
allowing the characters who you are trying to please to die.
-don't give orders: When in battle, don't give orders to the girls who you are trying to please.
This includes any commands you select from that characters battle menu, or any of the commands on
the main battle menu that tells all of the characters to do something. Until that character's love
level has been raised sufficiently, don't give them commands. Let your characters auto battle (most
of them usually make decent decisions), and exercise control only over Kain.
-help her with her problems: If there is a scenario that is of concern to a certain character, don't
shrug it off. Clear the scenario for her, taking her with you if she chooses. For instance, when the
country of AIRII is in trouble and Turner asks you to go with her, do so (unless of course you don't
care about Turner's love level, there are consequences though for ignoring such things).
- Every girl has her day.: Even if you are doing nothing wrong at all, the characters will
occasionally get in a bad mood and you will see them less happy than they were before when you talk
to them at the guild and add them to your party. Don't worry when this happens. This doesn't mean
that the character's love level has dropped back to square one or below. It just means they're in a
bad mood today, and they should go back to normal within a day or two. Don't worry, you're still
making progress!
-Don't forget to talk to them at the guild.: If you don't talk to your characters at all, none of
the other positive things you've done count for anything. Until you talk to them at the guild, the
positive points you have earned haven't been "consummated" as I like to put it. This is how you know
you're making progress. See "LOVE LEVELS" below. Try to talk to each character you're trying to
please at least once every time you visit a guild.
%%%OTHER THINGS THAT AFFECT LOVE LEVEL%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
There are a whole lot of other things that affect love level. I'll list a few of them here.
-"dying" in battle: If any of the characters "die" in battle, they will be back with 1 HP as soon as
the battle is over, but they'll blame you for it and their love level will drop. They'll comment
briefly about it after the fight, so you can see their displeasure. In the case of a boss battle,
you won't get this comment, but this does not mean that her love level has not been affected. If
Kain dies, I recommend immediately loading your data.
-The Level Up Fairie: When the Level Up Fairie comes and asks you which girl you like, the love
level of the one you choose will be raised and the love level of the one you don't choose will be
lowered. It's not very dramatic though, so you shouldn't worry about it very much.
-Don't group characters who dislike each other together: If you group a combination marked as -50%
in the chart above in "FORMING A PARTY, PICK A PARTY THAT GETS ALONG" the second character added
will express her displeasure, and her love level will go down drastically. Sometimes, however, the
game will automatically form a party that gets along badly for you. In this case, there is no choice,
and the characters don't seem to mind.
-Dropping characters from the party: If you drop any character from your party at the guild, her
love level will be drastically lowered. Don't do this unless it's necessary, and it's to a character</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
whose love level you don't care about.
-Presents: Giving presents was discussed briefly in the section above. It has a very small effect on
love level. If you give a character something she wants (and most characters have very few items
they REALLY want), their love level will be raised. If you give her something she doesn't want at
all, it will be lowered. Most items, though, are neutral, and the character will just take it to be
nice, and their love level will not be changed at all.
-Questions: Whenever a character asks you a question, your answer can have an effect on her love
level. If you understand what she is asking, try to answer in a way that would please her. If she is
clearly displeased with your answer, you may want to load your game and answer the question over
again.
Another important thing to remember is that you can't just start being a jerk to a character whose
love level you have already raised high enough to finish the game. You can stop deliberately
grouping her in your party and trying to raise her love level, and you can even start giving her
orders in battle, but don't start dropping her from the party and refusing her invitations to join
the party again. This will lower her love level to the point that it may be too low again to get her
happy ending. You may have to re-raise it if you have time.
%%%LOVE LEVELS%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
How can you tell just what love level a character is at? That's a tough one. You can tell generally
if they are high or low by their expressions when you talk to them. Each transition into a higher
love level, though, is marked by a special message you will get when you talk to them at the guild.
When you get one of these special messages, the character's theme music will play. The thresholds
into each love level are outlined below.
*note: Don't confuse these with the character's "level" in the game. That is the character's
fighting level, as in all RPGs. Love level's are a completely separate thing.
-Level 0: The level at which all the characters begin when you first find them.
-Level 1: The girl will ask Kain if it is true that he revived the Dark Lord. (In Asha's case, the
conversation will be a bit different because she already knows about the Dark Lord.)
-Level 2: The girl will tell you her protector.
-Level 3: The girl will ask if it's true that you're searching for a bride.
-Level 4: The girl will give you a present. (Usually "accept" is the top choice.) If you equip it,
the girl will get very excited when she joins your party and sees you wearing it and it will raise
her love level. After that, you can dequip it if you wish.
-Level 5: The girl will say that she has a bad feeling or a strange premonition. At this point she
is at more than a high enough level to finish the game and get a happy ending (if you've seen all of
that girl's anime sequences). If possible, try not to raise them to the next level. You should halt
all attempts to raise her love level at this point. Level 6 comes extremely quickly after level 5.
-Level 6: When you stay the night at a guild, Kain will have a dream where he sees the girl saying
goodbye to him. The next morning, Wise will inform you that she has died. In order to revive her,
you must go to the guild in Rhuin. There, Wise will tell you to get an item from the rhuins in order
to revive her. Enter the rhuins and find the item. Then return to the guild at Rhuin and Wise will
revive her. She will be returned to love level 5, but she can't die again at this point. *note: You
can't revive a character who dies by any other means in this way.
*******************************************************
FINDING THE CHARACTERS
*******************************************************
*note: All characters must be activated by talking to them at the guild after you have met them
before you can use them.
-Asha: You begin the game with her
-Karmi: Enter the guild at HAIIDO. If you have already met Sarge, you may need to enter more than
once. You can exit and enter the guild rapidly until the event triggers.
-Sarge: Enter the rhuins at Rhuin. Just before you reach the first elevator, the event will trigger.
If you have already met Karmi, you may need to exit and come back more than once before the event
triggers.
-Turner: You will get a note when you enter the guild at MAGU about going to the country of AIRII to
find the cure to the disease at MAGU (see the event titled "the sickness at MAGU" under "WALKTHROUGH
OF MAIN EVENTS"). After you have received it, go to AIRII and the event will trigger.
-Naruta: When you enter the guild at intermediate zone 6, you will receive a note saying that
something is happening in the cave at intermediate zone 6. Enter the cave after you receive the note.
If you have already met Yarm, you may need to come back more than once.
-Hammune: She is the most difficult of the regular characters to find.. First, you will need to
trigger Asha's second anime sequence (see "CHARACTER EVENTS AND ANIME SEQUENCES" below). Wise will
tell you then to go to MAGU and see a guy named KUUMA. When you arrive at MAGU, you will be able to
enter KUUMA's house. There you will meet her. Most players won't find this character in their fist
play through the game because you need to be able to get Asha to like you right away at the
beginning in order to trigger it.
-Maya: Enter the guild at SHINMA twice. If you have already met Turner, you may need to enter more
than twice. You can exit and enter the guild rapidly until the event triggers. (Even if you haven't
found Turner, you will need to do it at least once.) You will have a decision. Choose the first
option.
-Yarm: Go to the country of SHIBA. You will need to go at least twice before the event triggers. If
you have already met Naruta, you may need to do it more than twice. You can exit and enter the guild
rapidly until the event triggers. If the event still refuses to trigger. Leave, come back a little
later and try again.
-Wise: After you have finished the game once and have a clear data saved, begin the game again. (In
the PC-FX and Saturn versions, you will need to select a data file which has been used to finish the
game. It seems that you may need to have seen one of the characters endings before you can do it in
the PC-FX version.) After Kain reaches level 10, Wise will appear the next time you enter one of the
guilds at the intermediate areas, just like she does the first time you play the game, only this
time if you agree to fight her (the second choice) and win she will join your party.
-Lamille: After you have seen Wise's happy ending and have her voice available in the "free talk"
mode, start a new game. In the PC-FX and Saturn version, make sure you begin the game using a clear
data which has been used to get Wise's ending. (Her face should appear above the data file, along
with a small window that says "CLEAR CHARA!") After the golem tournament is over, beat her five more
times in the randomly occurring battles. You must have never lost a single fight to her. She will
ask you if you intend to help her or not. Say that you do, and she will appear to die like usual.
Three days later while walking on the main road, an event will trigger and you will take her back to
the guild. She will stay there to get better for a while. Talk to her three times, then enter a
guild and she will agree to join your party.
-Rekka: After you have seen Lamille's happy ending and have her voice available in the "free
talk"mode, start a new game. Once again, in the PC-FX and Saturn version, you must use a clear data
that has Lamille's face shown in the lineup of "CLEAR CHARA!". You will meet her the first time you
set out on the road between RAAWA and intermediate zone 1.

WALKTHROUGH OF MAIN EVENTS
*******************************************************
How do you progress the main plot of Blue Breaker? Basically, you just wander around until you
receive notes at the guilds which tell you where you need to go and what you should be doing. If you
can't read Japanese, it will be helpful if you can at least read katakana. If you can make out a
place name in the note, that's probably where you need to go (ignore the name at the very bottom
though since this is always the name of the country where you receive the note). Besides the many
special character-specific events described in the section below titled "CHARACTER EVENTS AND ANIME
SEQUENCES", there is also a main chain of events that will happen in every game of Blue Breaker.
Some of these are optional, but most are required. Another confusing thing about them is that they
don't always happen in the same order, so this is going to be difficult, but I will attempt to write
a walkthrough for these main events below.
-starting out: At the beginning of the game, you should concentrate on finding all of the characters,
and visiting each country at least once. If an event is supposed to happen at a country you've never
been to, you won't receive the note telling you about the event until you've been there. You should
also make sure you remember to raise your EP max at every opportunity you get.
-the sickness at MAGU: The first notes you get at the guilds will be about a sudden outbreak of a
certain illness in the country of MAGU. If you go to the country of MAGU, you will get a note
telling you that the cure for the disease can be found at AIRII. Go to AIRII and you will meet
Turner and become able to enter the guild there. You must buy a certain item that you can't get at
the other guilds. (Sorry, I haven't checked which item it is yet. If you can read Japanese, it
should be fairly obvious.) Bring it back to MAGU and you will be rewarded. This event is optional.
If you don't do it, you will just receive a note later that says the disease has been cured already.
There are no consequences for skipping this event.
-the forcefield at FUROORU: Early in the game, if you try to cross from intermediate zone 7 and
FUROORU, you will be stopped by an invisible forcefield. You will also receive a note about this at
the guild of intermediate zone 7. This forcefield won't disappear until near the end of the game,
and you will receive a note when it does, so don't try to go to FUROORU until the time comes.
-the great tree of AIRII: This event can happen before or after the event below called "the volcano
at RUKAANO". You will receive a note at a guild telling you that the great tree at AIRII is in
trouble. Immediately after you receive it, Turner will appear and ask you to come with her to AIRII.
The top option is agree, and the bottom is disagree. Especially if you are trying to please Turner,
it will be best to agree to go with her. If you don't, and you don't bother to go to AIRII and
complete the event at all, Inar will eventually appear and inform you that Turner is dead, and she
will not appear in the game again. Whether you take Turner with you or not, proceed immediately to
AIRII after you receive the note and there will be an extra option open on the main menu at AIRII at
the bottom. Choose this new option, and you will enter the great tree. Defeat the boss here and Kain
will learn a new technique. Go to the guild at AIRII afterward and you will be rewarded with 8,000
gold.
-the volcano at RUKAANO: When you first visit the country of RUKAANO, you will notice earthquakes
occurring there. Come back there again later and the earthquakes will occur again. Wise will appear
on the screen and tell you that you need to stop the volcano there from erupting, and how you can
stop it. You will have a decision. The top choice is "Let's get out of here," and the second is "We
have to do something..." Choose the second choice. You must then go to the nearby country of REKUTAA
to get the fang of the water dragon. Go to REKUTAA and there will be a new option available at the
bottom of the main menu. Choose this bottom option and enter the swamp. There are a lot of battles
in this area, so you will most likely need to run from a few of them in order to prevent your
characters from getting pissed off. When you meet the dragon, you will usually have to fight him to
receive his fang. If Hammune is in your party, you can talk him into giving it to you without a
fight. Once you have the dragon's fang, go back to RUKAANO. A new option will be open in the menu
here. Select this option and enter the volcano, You will have to fight one of Lamille's golems. Get
to the end of the stage and throw the dragon's fang into the crater. After completing the task, go
to the Guild at RUKAANO and you will be rewarded.
-trouble at Shine: This event normally occurs when you have about 17 weeks left, usually after the
golem tournament ends. You will get a note telling you that the sanctuary at Shine is being attacked.
If you want to get the note sooner, you must go to the guild at Shine, but it will appear eventually
at any guild if you wait long enough. After you receive the note, you can go to Shine and you will
have the option to go to the sanctuary there. Do so and you will find that there are no monsters
there. The head priestess will inform you that Deeza already came and took care of them. If you have
Asha in your party and her love level is high enough, this event will be different. After this event
the road between Shine and Kain's house will be open again. You can go back there if you want, but
it really doesn't do anything.
-the King of TOORU: You will receive a note telling you that TOORU is under attack. This note will
appear sooner if you go to the guild at HAIIDO, otherwise it will appear eventually at any guild. If
Karmi's love level is high enough, this event will be different. Go to TOORU and you will have a
choice whether to go immediately to the castle or wait and gather information. (top option=storm
castle, bottom option=gather info) If you choose to gather information, you will have to fight an
easy battle of three guys, and Yarm will sell you a map at the guild afterward. (top choice=buy,
bottom choice=don't buy) If you buy the map from Yarm, you will take an underground route through
the castle. It doesn't really help anything, but it's interesting. Otherwise, you will enter the
castle the normal way, and you will have to fight the King of TOORU. Inar will come and explain
everything afterward.
-the destruction of SHIBA: After the event called "the King of TOORU" has finished, if you walk on
the path from TOORU to intermediate zone 6 or 7, you will see a laser blast in the background. Go to
a guild and there will be a commotion and you will receive a noted telling about SHIBA's destruction.
You won't be able to visit there for the rest of the game. Maya will ask you to go with her to
SHINMA. (top choice=no, bottom choice=yes) If you choose not to, Inar will come eventually and tell
you that Maya has died and you won't be able to use her for the rest of the game.
-the King of SHINMA: After SHIBA has been destroyed, go to SHINMA and you will be able to enter the
castle there. If you have Maya with you, she will show you a shortcut to the King's chamber.
Otherwise, you will need to fight the Plasma Golem immediately. If you have Maya with you, you will
learn the truth about her identity and you will learn that the Dragon Lord was the one who destroyed
SHIBA and is plotting to destroy SHINMA with the plasma golem. You will have a choice whether to go
to see the Dragon Lord and try to stop him or not.
-the Dragon Lord: After you have completed the event at SHINMA and decided to go to see the Dragon
Lord, go to the place of the Dragon Lord and you will be able to speak with him. He will ask if you
intend to stop him or not. Contrary to what you would normally think, you should say that you don't.
If you say that you do, you will have to fight him (and it will be pretty difficult), and the
scenario will be over after that. If you don't you will have to go back to SHINMA to destroy the
plasma golem. After you have done so, you will be rewarded with 15,000 gold if you go to the SHINMA
guild. If you chose not to go with Maya to SHINMA, you may get a message saying that the Dragon Lord
has awakened. You can go to the place of the Dragon Lord and talk to him or fight him if you want in
that case too. If you wait long enough, though, he will go back to sleep.
-touga breaks: This event usually happens when you have about 14 weeks left, but under certain
circumstances it can happen much later than this. It seems that it won't happen if you have never
visited The Ice Mountain. This event leads to the end of the game, so make sure it doesn't happen
too late or you won't be able to finish the game on time. If it won't trigger, that probably means
you haven't completed something or visited a certain place yet. You may want to try going to the ice
mountain if you haven't been there yet. Anyway, when this event triggers, you will be walking along
and suddenly Kain will stop and say something like, "Sword Master, I know you're there." And the
Sword Master will appear and you will fight him as usual, only this time at the end Kain's sword
will break. When you enter a guild afterward, Wise will tell you that there may be a way to fix the
sword.
-Ifrit: After touga breaks, if you go to the guild at intermediate zone 1, you will get a note
saying that Ifrit has been seen in the cave there lately. Enter the cave and go to the stone in the
middle. Ifrit will appear there. If you have Turner in your party and her love level is high enough,
her second anime sequence is here. Otherwise, Ifrit will say that he doesn't want to help you and
you have to choose to fight him. If you win, you will receive a ball of fire.
-the ice mountain: After you have received the ball of fire from Ifrit, you can go to the ice
mountain and you will be able to proceed. You will have to defeat the Sword Master here, and you
will meet the Undead Master for the first time. Deeza will come and save you and he will give you a
new sword called meiga.
-the forcefield at FUROORU weakens: Immediately or shortly after you get your new sword, meiga at
the ice mountain, you will get a note telling you that the force field on the path to FUROORU seems
to be weakening every day. You will then be able to proceed to the country of FUROORU. If you try to
proceed then to KUNESU though, you will not be able to because it is protected by some magic that
will immediately take you back to the beginning of the path from FUROORU to KUNESU as soon as you
get to the end.
-FUROORU falls: When you arrive at the guild of FUROORU, you will immediately receive a note telling
about a strange roar coming from under the city. After you exit the guild, you will immediately have
the choice to go check it out. Do so and you will meet the creature who suspends FUROORU in the air.
You will learn that he is dying and can no longer support the country, so you will need to escape.
You will find yourself back outside on the path back to intermediate zone 7.
-Inar's death: Somewhere around this time, Inar will challenge you to a fight when you step out onto
the main field. He will say that he is in love with the character you are currently getting along
best with, and challenge you, agreeing to give up on her if he loses. Choose the top option to agree.
He'll die afterward. He may randomly appear again and The Undead Master will make you fight a gray
version of him.
-the spirit ring: When you return to intermediate zone 7 after the event at FUROORU, you will be met
by Wise. She will tell you that you need to find an item called the spirit ring. Then she will
disappear before your eyes, and if you had Wise available to play, she will no longer be playable
for the rest of the game. At about this point in the game, there is an optional event further
described below under Yarm's "OTHER EVENTS". You will also receive a note about the spirit ring at
the guild of intermediate zone 7. To find the spirit ring though, you must go to the cave at
intermediate zone 6. Go to the large stone alter in the middle of the cave and you will be
transported to the country of DIITA (that country just above Shine on the map with no roads leading
to it). Be on the lookout for points to raise your EP max, there are a whole bunch here! There is
just one boss to fight. Defeat it and you will receive the spirit ring.
-using the spirit ring: After you have the spirit ring, you must use it in the three caves that are
filled with running water and have a flat stone with a picture of a goddess in the middle. The caves
are located at intermediate zones 7, 5, and 2. Go to the flat stone in the middle of the cave and
Wise will appear and tell you part of the story of Kokuu no Michi, the world of Blue Breaker. She
will be interrupted by one of the Four Masters though each time and you will have to fight them. Go
to all three caves and defeat all three of the remaining Four Masters. (Lamille is either dead or
has joined your party by this point so you don't have to fight her.) At the second encounter, Wise
will ask you how many protectors the world has. The answer is 6 (the second choice).
-meiga breaks: After you have used the spirit ring at all three locations and enter back out onto
the main field, you should be attacked soon after by the Sword Master. When you defeat him, Kain's
sword will break again and the Sword Master will reveal that he himself is a sword and allow Kain to
use him. Now you are all prepared to go to KUNESU to defeat the Dark Lord.
-going to KUNESU: Since FUROORU has fallen there is no longer a path to KUNESU there. Instead you
will need to take another path. Normally, this path will be through the great tree at AIRII, so go
to AIRII and select to enter the great tree (which will be available again now) and it will lead
this time to the country of KUNESU. If, however, you did not complete the scenario at the great tree
earlier, you will need to take a path from the ice mountain instead. Go to the ice mountain, climb
it, and there will be a bridge to KUNESU in the place where Deeza saved you from the Undead Master.
If you don't go to the right place on time, Kain will suddenly stop on the main field and Wise will
appear and tell him where to go.
-KUNESU: When you arrive at KUNESU, you will immediately be able to go to the place of the Dark Lord.
Here, you will fight the most difficult and experience-giving enemies in the game. At the end you
will fight the Dark Lord who turns out to be the fake Dark Lord. Your sword will tell you to go to
Rhuin.
-Geoad: After defeating the fake Dark Lord at KUNESU, go to Rhuin and enter the rhuins there. You
will be able to open the big door with the sword-shaped keyhole using your new sword. You will
arrive in Geoad, the country of the gods. Here, you will fight the real Dark Lord. Afterward, you
will find that you are in the basement beneath the sanctuary at Shine. If you go back to the right,
you will have the choice to return to Shine (a very good idea, so you can save your game and have an
easier path to the final battle). First choice="don't return to Shine". Second choice="return to
Shine". You will be able to return to this area any time by selecting the last choice on the main
menu at Shine to fight the final battle.
-the final battle: You will first be confronted by the Magic Master who will restore you HP/EP for
you. Afterward, if there are any characters whose happy ending you are able to get, you will get a
menu with their names on it. Select a character's name if you want to see her happy ending. Next,
you will fight the end boss. There are about three or four different bosses that you can get at the
end of the game. It seems to be determined by your clear data, and possibly the amount of weeks you
took to finish the game, etc. It may be a tough battle depending on which characters you use, but
you can do it. If you are going to get one of the characters' happy endings, the boss will become
easier near the end.
-saying goodbye: At the ending, you will say goodbye to the two characters who were in your party
when you defeated Dark JII. If you were able to select one of these two characters' names before the
end battle, then you will get their happy ending. Otherwise, you will have a lukewarm friendly
goodbye. Many players will get very frustrated by this because it is extremely difficult to get
happy endings, and you aren't likely to see one on your first time through the game. The game will
be very consoling and tell you that you'll find a bride next time for sure, but the game is usually
a bit too over-confident about that.

CHARACTER EVENTS AND ANIME SEQUENCES
*******************************************************
*note: The first anime sequences are found when you first meet the characters, see "FINDING THE
CHARACTERS" above.
*note: The events that are not necessary in order to get that character's happy ending are listed as
[optional]
%%%ASHA%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
*note: Asha is the only character who has five anime sequences. Most others only have three.
-second anime sequence: If you get along well with Asha for about the first three weeks of the game
and continue talking to her and raise her love level to a certain point, the event will trigger when
you enter any guild. It should happen shortly after she and Kain get in a fight regarding Asha
hiding information from Kain. (You talk to her once, she gets angry and leaves, then you need to
talk to her one more time immediately after before you can use her again.) If you get the note
saying that the medicine that was needed from AIRII has been brought to MAGU, it is NOT too late to
trigger this event. After the anime sequence, Wise will appear and tell you how to bring Asha back
to health. Go to MAGU and enter "KUUMA's house" at the bottom of the menu. You will be faced with a
decision. The top option is to fight KUUMA, and the second option is asking if there is anything
else he can do. Choose the bottom decision. You will then meet Hammune. She will immediately ask
Kain if it is okay to call him "KEE-chan". Tell her it's all right (second choice). She will
automatically join your party the next time you form a party at the guild. Take Hammune with you to
the guild where Asha became sick. Then forget about Asha for a while and go about your business.
Three days later, Asha will be well and ready to join the party again when you enter any guild. Also,
once Asha is back, Hammune's name will appear in the "talk" menu at the guild. Talk to her and she
will become usable again. If you do any of the above events incorrectly, Asha may die and become
unusable for the rest of the game.
-third anime sequence: If you continue to raise Asha's love level, Kain will eventually have a dream
about Asha when he stays over night at any guild.
-fourth anime sequence: Just like the third, if you continue raising Asha's love level after you
have seen her third anime sequence, Kain will have another dream when he says over night at any
guild.
-fifth anime sequence: After you have seen her fourth anime sequence, continue raising Asha's love
level , eventually when you choose the talk command at the guild, Deeza will appear instead and tell
you that Asha seems strange lately. Agree to go looking for her by choosing the first option. Go to
RAAWA alone, with only Kain in your party and there will be a fifth option on the main menu at RAAWA.
Choose it and you will find Asha there, along with her fifth anime sequence.
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
-[optional] the path at Shine: Go to the country of Shine as soon as you leave RAAWA. Asha will ask
if they can use the path from Shine to Kain's house and be rejected. It seems like a useless event,
but it may have something to do with raising Asha's love level at the beginning of the game.
-[optional] danger at Shine: If you go to the guild at Shine after the golem tournament has ended,
you will get a note telling about the shrine at Shine being attacked by monsters. If you wait long
enough, you will get this note at any guild. Go to the shrine at Shine (the last choice that will
appear on the menu on the main screen at Shine). You will learn that Deeza came and took care of the
monsters before you got there. If you bring Asha along and her love level is high enough, this event
will be different.
-[optional] Asha's pain: Late in the game before fighting Inar, just by selecting "talk" at the
guild, suddenly Inar will appear and tell you that Asha is acting strangely lately. Talk to Asha
afterward.
%%%KARMI%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
-second anime sequence: After raising Karmi's love level to a certain level (about level 3), bring
her along to the event where you go to the Ice Mountain in order to fix Kain's sword. You will meet
the Sword Master on the mountain. Karmi will ask Kain to allow her to fight the Sword Master herself.
Agree to Karmi's wishes. After Kain gets his new sword from Deeza, go back to where you left Karmi.
You will find her in bad shape. Defeat the Sword Master. Karmi will leave the party. Three days
later, she will appear at the guild and the event will trigger.
-third anime sequence: After seeing her second anime sequence, continue raising her love level. When
you talk to her at the guild, she will ask you if you like her or not. Say that you do. Continue
raising her love level more after that. Eventually the event will trigger when you enter a guild.
You will need to make one decision. Pick the right one.
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
-[optional] the attack at TOORU: After you have been to TOORU and the event "danger at Shine" (under
Asha's other events) is over you will get a note telling you about the trouble at TOORU. You should
go to the guild at HAIIDO if you want to get this note early. If you wait long enough though, it
will appear at any guild. This event always happens, but if Karmi's love level is high enough, the
event will be a little bit different. Take her along to the event at TOORU and some more interesting
stuff will happen.
%%%SARGE%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
-second anime sequence: After she has reached a certain love level (about level 3 or 4, according to
Japanese FAQs, you will get a message that tells you when, but I can't recall ever seeing such a
message), form a party of only Sarge and Kain and go out on the field. The Magic Master should stop
you right away when you go out on the field, and his speech will be different from normal. Defeat
him and they will all be swept into a vortex to Earth. You will need to defeat a boss and the magic
Master again using only Kain, so bring a lot of potions. (I don't know if Sarge will ever come back
if you lose.) After Kain comes back to his world, just go back to your normal routine. Four days
later, while walking around on the main field, a vortex will suddenly open and Sarge will come out.
You'll see her second anime sequence then.
-third anime sequence: Continue raising her love level after you have seen her second anime sequence.
Eventually, the event will trigger when you stay overnight at a guild. Don't worry, it will trigger
eventually if you keep raising her love level.
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
none
%%%TURNER%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
-second anime sequence: After raising her love level to a certain point (about level 3), take her
along to the event where you meet Ifrit in the cave at intermediate zone 1. Agree to let Turner
handle Ifrit by choosing the second option.
-third anime sequence: After seeing her second anime sequence, continue raising her love level.
Eventually, when you try to talk to Turner at the guild, she will say nothing and go away. After
that you will need to talk to Turner twice more using the talk command. She will run away without
saying anything every time. After that, enter a guild that has Naruta in it. (You will need to have
found Naruta and she must be alive in order to trigger this.) Naruta will tell you about an item
called "Annette's flower". Agree to go looking for it. Go to the end of the cave at RAAWA to find
the flower, then enter the guild and you will be asked if you would like to give the flower to
Turner. Give it to her by selecting the first option and the event will trigger.
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
-the meaning of Annette's flower: After seeing her third anime sequence, go to a guild with Naruta
in it and the event will trigger.
-the trouble at AIRII: You will receive a note telling about the trouble with the great tree at
AIRII. Turner will ask you to go with her. (If you don't go with her or at least go to AIRII alone,
she will die.) Choose the top choice to agree to go with her. When you are on the path between
intermediate zone 3 or the destroyed country and AIRII, the ground will shake and Turner will get
really worried. When you arrive at the main screen at AIRII, the guild keeper will tell you that
AIRII doesn't have much time. Enter the great tree at AIRII (the bottom option on the main screen)
and defeat the boss there. Turner will learn healing magic. If you go to the guild at AIRII
afterward, you will receive 8,000 gold.
%%%NARUTA%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
-second anime sequence: After you have raised her love level to a certain point (around level 2 or
3), bring her along to the event at FUROORU where you meet that big monster and FUROORU falls. (Yes,
it is very late in the game.) After that, continue to raise her love level and you will eventually
get a note telling about a strange winged figure in the cave at intermediate zone 6. (You may need
to go to the guild at intermediate zone 6 to get this.) Naruta will ask you to go there with her.
Agree to do so, enter the cave, and go to the end of it, and the event will trigger.
-third anime sequence: After you have seen her second anime sequence, continue raising her love
level and the event will trigger eventually while you are walking around on the main field. Naruta
will try to leave Kain, make sure you stop her by making the right decision.
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
-[optional] the Maya affair: Talk to Naruta after seeing Maya's second anime sequence.
-[optional] the battle at TOORU: If you have Naruta in your party when you go to TOORU to stop the
attack there, she will ask at the main screen there to let her come along with you. It isn't
necessary, but your decision whether to bring her or not will probably have an effect on her love
level.
%%%HAMMUNE%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
second anime sequence: After raising her love level to a certain point, the event will trigger
automatically while walking on the main field with Hammune in your party. When faced with a decision,
choose the first option. Hammune will learn to use water magic.
third anime sequence: After seeing her second anime sequence, continue raising her love level. Once
she has reached love level 4 and it is the 70th day or after (check the diary to get an idea of what
day it is), and you enter any guild other than those of the intermediate zones, Hammune will say
that she wants to go to the destroyed country to put flowers on her parents' grave. You must go to
the destroyed country and there you will fight the Undead Master, after which the event will trigger.
If you have not yet met the Undead Master, the event won't trigger. You must wait until you have met
the Undead Master at the ice mountain before you trigger this event. Many players have a lot of
trouble here.
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
-[optional] the water dragon: When you meet the water dragon at REKUTAA to get his fang in order to
stop the volcano at RUKAANO, usually you will have to fight him in order to get it. If you have
Hammune in your party, you will be able to get it just by talking to him.
-[optional] The Golem Tournament: The Golem Tournament begins when you have about 20-22 weeks left.
Go to the guild at SHINMA and you will get a message about the tournament, thereafter you will be
able to go to the tournament venue by selecting it on the main menu at SHINMA. Usually, when you try
to enter tournament, you won't be allowed to because you don't have a golem, but if you have Hammune
in your party when you go there, you will see an event here instead. At the venue, make sure you
choose the first option for both choices you have. After that, take Hammune with you to the cave at
intermediate zone 4 where you will get the golem parts at the very end of the cave. (It's not in the
chest.) Bring Hammune with you back to the golem tournament and she will make you a golem. You will
be able to enter the tournament then. It's really not much though. You just watch it, and you get
money at the end. Don't get your hopes up.
-[optional] Kain's house: After you have received the present from Hammune, you will be able to
return to Kain's house any time. You will normally be able to go back there after the event at Shine,
but this is another way to make it possible.
%%%MAYA%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
-second anime sequence: After you have raised her love level to a certain point (around level 3) and
stay overnight at a guild, the event will trigger.
-third anime sequence: Continue raising her love level after you have seen the first anime sequence.
After her love level has been raised sufficiently (around level 4) and you have finished the event
at SHINMA where the Magic Master kills the king and you find out that Maya is the princess, enter a
guild at one of the intermediate areas without Maya in your party. (You may also need to finish the
"Dragon Lord" event (below) and kill the plasma golem afterward before you can remove Maya from your
party.)
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
-the king of SHINMA: After you have seen SHIBA destroyed by the Plasma Golem, go to the guild and
Maya will stop you and ask to go with her to SHINMA. Agree to do so. If you don't actually see SHIBA
get destroyed on the main field, a note should appear at a different guild and Maya will ask you the
same question. Go to SHINMA and enter the castle (the bottom choice on the main screen at SHINMA),
and Maya will show you a shortcut around the plasma golem. You will see the king of SHINMA get
killed by the Magic Master. You will have a decision to go and stop the Dragon Lord from destroying
SHINMA or not. It is optional, but it should help to raise Maya's love level if you do so.
-[optional] the Dragon Lord: After making the decision to go and stop the Dragon Lord from
destroying SHINMA in the event above, go to the place of the Dragon Lord. The Dragon Lord will ask
you if you are going to try to stop him or not. Contrary to what you would normally think, you
should choose not to try to stop him here. After that, go back to the castle at SHINMA and defeat
the Plasma Golem. Go to the guild at SHINMA afterward, and receive 15,000 gold!
%%%YARM%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
---ANIME SEQUENCES-------------------------------------
-second anime sequence: After you have raised her love level to a certain point and stay the night
with Yarm in your party at a guild at an intermediate zone, the event will trigger.
-third anime sequence: After you have seen her second anime sequence, continue raising her love
level. Eventually, when you talk to her she will tell you the reason why she wants money so badly.
After that, while walking with her in your party on the main field you will be attacked by bandits.
Tell Yarm that you don't want her to die and the event will trigger.
---OTHER EVENTS----------------------------------------
-[optional] the castle at TOORU: After hearing about the trouble at TOORU and going to the main
screen there, you will have a choice whether to enter the castle immediately or to gather more
information first. If you decide to gather more information first, Yarm will try to sell you a map
at the guild. If you buy it, the event here will be different.
-[optional] the storage room at SHIBA: Near the end of the game (a little bit after TOORU has
fallen), if you go to the guild at intermediate zone 7, Yarm will tell you about a bracelet she saw
in the storage room at SHIBA, agree to go with her to find it and you will become able to revisit
the country of SHIBA after it has been destroyed. Go there with Yarm, and you will find a bracelet
there, and she will throw it away when you go back out to the main field. Later, the Magic Master
will appear and make a follow up to this event.

COOL ITEMS
*******************************************************
-"seinaru shippo" ("sacred tail"): After finishing the game once, when you step out onto the path
between RAAWA and intermediate zone 1 for the first time, there will be a chest there containing
this item. When you have this item equipped, you will move twice as quickly on the paths than you do
normally. It can help a lot to speed up the more tedious parts of the game. After using this item
for a while, I can no longer stand to play the game at the normal speed anymore. Of course, this
item doesn't increase your stats at all, so equipping this instead of a stat-increasing item is a
trade off, but advanced players shouldn't mind the extra challenge.
-"seirei no fumi" ("spirit's letter"): If you go to that country that you get to when you go all the
way to the end of the rhuins at Rhuin late in the game, there is a useful item at the guild there
called "seirei no fumi". When you equip this item, your character will regain EP when healed. (The
amount of EP regained is half the amount of HP regained.) This is extremely useful if you equip Asha
with this. Then she can use her heal-all spell and she will recover the EP used immediately,
allowing you to basically heal the whole party for free.
-"seinaru kazari" ("sacred ornament"): You can't be attacked when you have this equipped. Good for
when you've already given your girls enough battles for one day.

CODES
*******************************************************
*note: These codes are for the PC-FX version. I am not sure if they will work in either of the other
two versions.
-view extra character special effects: While toggling to a different character in the add/drop
character menus, you must press and hold select just as you press left or right to view a different
character, and release when that character comes up. The text at the bottom should change.
-begin with all characters: You must have seen all of the characters' endings in order to do this
code. When you turn on the system and you see the PC-FX system screen on controller 2, hold buttons
I, III, IV, and VI and press run to boot the game. Continue holding until the Hunex logo appears. On
the title screen, select "hajime kara" ("begin a new game"). When it asks if you want to use clear
data, select yes and choose a file that has all the characters' faces at the bottom. When you get to
the guild at RAAWA, all of the characters will be there, and ready to use.
*******************************************************
PLATFORM DIFFERENCES
*******************************************************
Here are listed the major differences between the three different versions of the game.
%%%PC-FX%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
This is the original (and therefore, best IMO) version of the game. I especially enjoy the music in
this version, although Saturn and Playstation technically have much more advanced sound capabilities,
the music in the PC-FX version just has a certain charm that has been lost in the other two versions.
This game is the standard by which I will use to judge the other two versions of the game. All of
the bugs in the game are pretty inconsequential, and have never caused me any trouble at all. (I
have yet to experience a single one of them myself.) It's still not quite perfect, though, and one
Japanese page has compiled a list of all the known bugs. That list is translated below:
-When you have Yarm in your party and open a treasure chest, Yarm will walk over to open the chest
instead of Kain (because Yarm loves treasure). If you hit the up key while she's walking over to get
the chest, she will freeze and the game won't continue, and you will have no choice but to reset.
-Sometimes the "voice off/on" setting in the configuration can suddenly switch to "off" on its own.
If this happens, just switch it back.
-In the final dungeon, just before the last battle, the characters can suddenly turn into other
characters. If this happens though, you can still finish the game and get the ending of the
character it was supposed to be if you want.
-When starting a new game using a clear data file, sometimes the game will begin at Kain's house
with no party members other than Kain. If you go to a guild, Asha is available. I have never heard
of anyone who continued the game long enough after this to see what happens, but there is some
chance that this is not a bug at all, but an Easter egg that the programmers threw in. If you reset
and try again, however, it should go back to normal.
-If you clear all the characters and get the final ending while playing using the FX-GA (an
accessory that allows PC-FX games to be played on a PC), the game will freeze when it is supposed to
show the final ending.
%%%SEGA SATURN%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
This version, reportedly, has too many bugs to list. Apparently there are several character endings
which are impossible to get in this version due to bugs. Most importantly, it is impossible to get
Wise's ending, and therefore impossible to get Lamille and Rekka. Most fans consider this version to
be completely defective and unplayable. As one Japanese site so plainly puts it (in English at that),
"Saturn version is treason". Apparently, Human (who translated this game to Saturn and Playstation)
recognized these bugs after they released it, and had a fixed version made available to people who
purchased the game, but you had to actually write to Human to get it. There are other more
conventional differences that I will list below.
-The aspect ratio of the screen has been changed so that there are more lines of horizontal
resolution than the PC-FX or Playstation version have. If you are used to the PC-FX or Playstation
version, the characters will look very skinny in the Saturn version. They look fine, though, if you
haven't seen the other versions, or get used to the Saturn version.
-The sound during the FMV sequences is of a low sampling rate, and sounds rather bad.
-The music sucks in this version IMO. The Saturn's PCM generator could have been used to make it
much better, but it sounds like they just didn't try. The music is just too soft, and reminds me of
bad elevator music.

A huge amount of changes have been made in this version. In fact, Human felt that this version had
so many improvements, it justified changing the subtitle of the game from "ken yori mo hohoemi o" to
"egao no yakusoku". The back of the package boasts "powered-up character events, items, etc.". It's
still basically the same game overall. One Japanese site had a pretty exhaustive list of the new
changes. I will list them below:
---OVERALL CHANGES-------------------------------------
-The anime sequences, save for the opening, are no longer full-screen. They are now shown in a
little box in the middle of the screen with a border around it.
-The sampling rate of the voices is lower than the other two versions, and is a little irritating if
you're used to one of the other versions.
-The music is much improved over the Saturn version somehow.
-Brand new music tracks have been added to the main field and caves, in addition to the original
music. (This was a much needed improvement.)
-Due to the Playstation memory cards, saving and loading your game takes a rather long amount of
time when compared to the other two versions. This is especially annoying since you need to save and
load so much in Blue Breaker. It really sucks when you can't get the party you want in your first
try.
-The Karaoke version of the opening that you get in the other two versions by waiting at the title</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
screen doesn't exist in this version.
-The option menu has been completely redesigned, and now allows you to view the characters' facial
expressions, change the key configuration, view a list of all the items you have found with
descriptions for each, view each character's profile, and see information about the character's
weapon.
-Some of the prices of the items are different.
-When you open a chest that contains gold in this version, the amounts received are higher.
-When you open a chest, it stays open and doesn't regenerate into a new chest with an item in it
until the next day, unlike in the other two versions.
-There are some messages that appear and events that happen at different guilds than they did in the
other two versions.
-You can carry more items at once.
-In this version, you can't take the items that the characters come equipped with and give them to
other characters.
-The weapons the girls are using change in the middle of the game.
-Some of the "CHARACTER'S SPECIAL EFFECTS" (see the section above) have been changed a little.
-There are more events that can happen at the same time.
-Instead of using "clear data" files to store which character endings you have seen, they are all
stored in one main file. (I like it better this way.)
---CHANGES TO THE BATTLE SYSTEM------------------------
-You can now get attacked from both sides at once, making it impossible to retreat from some battles.
-There are now status ailments: confusion and blind. And there are now enemies that can use hold
attacks.
-Sometimes enemies leave items behind in this version.
-Bosses use more EP-stealing attacks.
-Strangely, sometimes the system will suddenly reset after Kain dies. (bug)
-If one of your characters can bring characters back to life, they will always use it to bring Kain
back immediately if he dies. (This wasn't always true in the other two versions.)
-The HP of the random Four Masters battles has been made lower.
-There are more special attacks that just don't have any effect on the bosses.
-Sarge, Turner, Naruta, and Wise all have special abilities that have been changed a bit.
-The Level Up Faerie now appears at regular intervals.
---NEW EVENTS-----------------------------------------
-There is a new event that takes place in the rhuins at Rhuin.
-There is a new event that takes place in intermediate zone 6.
-A treasure hunt that takes you all over the world map. This takes a long time, and you are given
very little time to complete it.
-Asha has a new non-anime event.
-Sarge has a new non-anime event.
-Naruta has a new non-anime event.
-Yarm has a new non-anime event.

FAQ
*******************************************************
-Why can't I use magic?
There is one day in each week which has no protector, and you cannot use magic on this day.
-How do I raise my EP max?
While walking along, sometimes you will see Kain's body begin to glow for a brief moment. Go back to
where his body began to glow (you can stand right on it, so that he is continuously glowing, or
nearby) and use the search command. The EP max of all of your characters will be raised, and EP
maxed-out. This will even raise the EP maxes of the characters who aren't currently in your party.
There is usually at least one of these points in every single path. Make sure you keep on the
lookout for these whenever you're exploring a new area. New points may even appear later in the game
where there weren't any before.
-When does the Level Up Faerie appear?
This is different depending on which version you play. In the PC-FX and Saturn versions, she will
appear randomly when Kain gets a level up, but she cannot appear after you fight a boss, or anytime
you have less than two girls in your party. In the Playstation version, she will appear much more
often. She appears after every other level up Kain gets. If your first level up with two girls in
your party is even, she will appear on even level ups for the rest of the game; if it is odd, she
will appear after odd level ups for the rest of the game. However, in the Playstation version, she
will only appear on the main field, and not in the caves or castles or any other special area. The
restrictions listed for the PC-FX and Saturn versions also apply.
-What happens if the time limit runs out?
When you stay overnight at the guild on the final day, the morning will never come and the world
will end. Basically, Game Over.
-How do I get the characters' happy endings?
You need to have seen all of that character's anime sequences, and her love level must be high
enough. (This is somewhere between level 4 and 5.) Then, you must bring her along for the end battle.
Then, just before the end battle, if one or more of your characters' love level is high enough, you
should get a menu with that character's name on it. Select it and finish the game. She won't be
leaving you at the end anymore. If the character's name doesn't appear on the menu, then you haven't
found all of her anime sequences, or her love level isn't high enough. You can go outside and try to
raise her love level a little more in the time you have remaining. You won't know if it's high
enough, though, until you go back to the final battle and see the menu. Don't worry, I've had to do
this myself, and it usually works out. In the PC-FX and Saturn versions, though, it is advisable to
finish all your win-able characters using one file because the clear data is saved in separate files.
(You'll see what I mean.) In the case of Wise, you may know that she leaves your party before the
end of the game and can't come along on the final battle. She is an exception. As long as you've
raised her love level high enough before she leaves your party and go on to finish the game, you
should be able to select her from the menu before the final battle and see her ending. "How high is
high enough?" you may ask. That's a tough question. One Japanese site says that if you've received a
present from her, it should be okay, but I have tested this, and found it to be untrue. You need to
raise it a bit higher than that apparently. You should save a file before she leaves the party, so
you can go back and raise her love level more if you get to the end of the game and still can't
select her in the menu. This part of the game is a pain in the ass in my opinion. It wastes a lot of
time if you go all the way to the end, just to find her love level isn't high enough yet.
-What is the maximum number of girls I can "win" in one game?
There is no set limit, but I would say anything over four or five is pushing it.
-Are there any other Blue Breaker games?
Yes. They are "Blue Breaker Burst ~hohoemi o anata to~" and "Blue Breaker Burst ~egao no asu ni~".
They are 3D Fighting games for the Playstation featuring the girls from Blue Breaker. There's also
an adventure mode in which you go around the world of kokuu no michi and fight battles. These games
are pretty good in my opinion, and the 3D fighting is surprisingly, not half bad. This is all there
is if you're itching for more adventures in the world of Blue Breaker, and follow-ups to some of the
stories. Please join me in my quest, writing to Hunex and begging them to make a Blue Breaker 2.
-How do you get all of the characters' spells and special techniques?
The majority of them come just by gaining levels. The rest can be found by completing certain events
and finding anime sequences. If you have done all of the important events (and they are all
described in this FAQ), then you should have all of them by the end of the game. Kain gets most of
his by finishing events, but even cases like the event called "the great tree of AIRII" (described
in the section WALKTHROUGH OF MAIN EVENTS) which is not a mandatory event in which Kain learns a new
technique for completing it, you will still learn the technique eventually even if you don't
complete the event. If one of your characters other than Kain is missing a spell or technique by the
end of the game, it is an indicator that you missed something important. In this case, you should
just review that character's CHARACTER EVENTS AND ANIME SEQUENCES.
-Do you know any GameShark, Xploder/Code Breaker, or Pro Action Replay codes for Blue Breaker?
I don't know any, and I don't know where to find any either. I don't use any of them myself, and
they don't use them in Japan, so there aren't any Japanese websites that list them. Please send me
an email if you have any or know where I can get them as I would like to add them to this FAQ.
-What is a PC-FX?
PC-FX is a game console made by NEC that is only available in Japan. It was released near the same
time as Saturn and Playstation were in Japan. The original version of Blue Breaker was made for this
system.

RUMORS AND MYTHS
*******************************************************
I've heard a few false claims made about Blue Breaker in online discussions and I'd like to address
them here.
claim: "The Saturn version has a new character added."
answer: Not true. If there was a new character, she would most certainly be in the Playstation
version too. Actually, it would be more correct to say that the Saturn version has two characters
taken out because you can't clear the game with Wise, and therefore you can't get Lamille and Rekka.
claim: "In the Playstation version, the 2-D battles have now been replaced by a new polygonal battle
system."
answer:The battle system is the same as it is in the other two versions. Most likely, the person who
made this claim was confusing the Blue Breaker Burst games with the regular Blue Breaker game for
Playstation, "egao no yakusoku".
claim:"Blue Breaker is an RPG that plays more like a dating simulation than an actual RPG."
answer: Well, it is true that Blue Breaker doesn't play much like a conventional RPG, and it does
have elements of dating simulations in it. However, I would still say it plays more like an RPG than
a dating simulation. Dating simulations usually only have menu-based command, and a map if you're
lucky. Blue Breaker still has much travelling and exploring similar to RPGs. Yes, much of the game
IS menu-based, but it's still an RPG in my opinion.
