:: A Bit About This Walkthrough                                         abt ::
==============================================================================

First off, thank you for looking at my walkthrough.  I have made it possible
to skip around using the codes found in the table of contents.  I have also
tried very hard to not give up any spoilers.  Some of the trophies are
character specific, so you will mostly likely have to do more than one play
through if you wish to earn them all.  One such example is Dagger of the Mind
where you will need to mind meld with ten different enemies while playing as
Spock.

Otherwise, the game is pretty straightforward.  I have included in this
walkthrough locations of resesarch data as you progress through the levels.
Many of them are found in side rooms or away from the main direction of game
play.  Good luck and I hope you enjoyed this game as much as I did.  Well, at
least as much as the first time I played it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                 Boldly Go
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You begin in a firefight.  The on-screen instructions show you what you need
to do.  Hold down L1 for the crosshairs to show up and press R1 to fire.  The
bottom left of the screen shows you a heat monitor for your weapon.  If it
fills up, you will not be able to fire until your weapon has cooled down.
After a little bit, the game will take over, so be confused after watching the
cutscene.

Another cutscene to watch.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Reach the Shuttle Bay
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hold down square to use the turbolift to get to the shuttle bay.  Kirk will
have a chat with Mr. Scott.  When they are both done talking, follow the red
circle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Enter the Shuttle
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head towards the shuttle and hold down square to board.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head towards the red circle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Move to the centre of the scanner for decontamination
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do like the objective says, which you will have to do anyway for the door to
open.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Proceed to the Command Center

                                                                  -----------

Go through door for a cutscene.  With the bridge out, you will need to find an
alternate route.  Turn the camera so you can see to the left and make your way
to the red circle.  Use X to jump over the debris and hold square to enter the
vent at the end.

Make your way through and drop down the hole at the end.  Press circle to drop
down from the edge.  The door at the end of the hall here is stuck, so hold
down square and then tap square to pry open the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Unlock the door to free the Vulcan Scientist
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head towards the locked door and hold down L2 to bring up tricorder view.
Target the lock and hold square to unlock the door.  Enter the room to save
the scientist.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Find a way to open the door
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hold down L2 again and target the console that was in front of the Vulcan
scientist and hold square to hack it.  What you will need to do here is pair
up the frequencies.  You will need to use both analog sticks to move the
selectors.  Once you find matching frequencies, press X, doing this for four
pairs of frequencies.

In this room are two items you can scan.  One is just past the console you
just hacked and one is behind you next to another console.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Continue to the Command Center
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go through the now unlocked door to another cutscene.  Make your way up back
to the top.  Once there, use the tricorder to disable the laser arms.  Once
they are disabled, face back towards the door you came through initially and
jump up the arms to the level above.  Once up, pry open the door.  Press R3
to crouch and make your way across.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Proceed to the Airlock to begin the Spacewalk
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the cutscene, head to the turbolift.  You can scan the holographic image
before doing so.  Once out, turn left and you will see a communicator you can
scan.  If you go straight ahead to the damaged doors, on the other side is a
Tribble you can scan.  Head to the airlock.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                   2259.32
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Proceed to the Station Core
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the cutscene, you will need to make your way across while avoiding the
solar radiation.  You can use O to take cover behind objects, which will help
you avoid direct contact.  You can press L3 while you are running to sprint,
which helps you get across faster.

Once at the door, hold square, then tap square to pry open the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                             Space Station
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                     | Space Station's Core |
                                                     ------------------------

You will need to shut down the rings.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Shut down the first Core ring
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shut down the first ring.  Listen to your partner and you will need to
complete the other part.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Shut down the second Core ring
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do the same thing you did to shut down the first core.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Shut down the third Core ring
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, same as the first two cores.  This time around you will also need to
avoid the radiation blasts.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Exit the Station Core
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again, you will be subject to radiation blasts, so carefully make your
way to the door the red circle is at and pry it open.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Proceed to the Emergency Transporter Room
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will come up to some vents that you can blast that will help provide cover
for you to make it across.  However, some of them are actual vents that
provide no cover whatsoever.  Once you get across, you will view a cutscene.

You can scan the console, and just a little past it is a communicator you can
scan.

Make your way to the red circle for another cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Outrun the Destruction!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just sprint until the cutscene plays.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                Enterprise
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                              | Shuttle Bay |
                                                              ---------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Reach the Bridge
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the debriefing room for a cutscene.  Once it's through, head to the
turbolift and make your way to the bridge.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Reach the Transporter Room
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enter the turbolift and make your way to the transporter room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
: wt03                                                             New Vulcan :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Follow T'Mar
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do as the objective says and follow T'Mar.  By now, you may want to purchase
some upgrades.  Ones I recommend at this point are Techno-Doctor, Remote
Connector, and Research Helper for the Tricorder and Heat Efficient Shot for
the phaser.  Make Research Helper your first choice for now and Techno-Doctor
a second priority.  Research Helper will point out scannable items for you in
tricorder view if you are in range of them, which gives you experience points.

As you follow her, you can scan the plant life on the left, some grass on the
right just past a small rock, and a bird on the roof of the building you come
upon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Hack the door with your partner
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you reach the door, you will notice two panels.  I suggest hacking the
one on the left as it is the easier of the two.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                New Vulcan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                         | Security Station |
                                                         --------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Find Surok
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go through the door and immediately to the left is another Tribble you can
scan.  Activate the panel across the way to extend the bridge.  Once across,
make your way to the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                New Vulcan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                         | Unfinished Tower |
                                                         --------------------

Inside, you can scan the body.  A little past it is a section of the wall you
can scan.  And a little past that is some kind of blood you can scan.  Stun
the enemy using R2, your weapon's secondary fire, and press square to knock
him out.  Enter the turbolift.

Take out the enemy out here then have Spock mind meld with him to obtain the
code for the door.  Unlock the door and go through.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                New Vulcan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                               | Upper Labs |
                                                               --------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Complete your objectives without directly killing any
             :: Infected (Non-Lethal)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note that you can also use the tricorder to view any enemies in the vicinity.
So, unlock the door and non-lethally take out the two infected Vulcans that
come running through the now unlocked door.  Hold the left analog stick
towards the broken glass and hold X to hop over.  Straight ahead is a console
you can scan.  Go through the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                New Vulcan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                              | Surok's Lab |
                                                              ---------------

Head towards the red circle for a cutscene.  At the back of the room is
another console you can scan.  Follow Surok to the door.  On the way, there
is another console that is scannable here.  Go through the door when you are
ready.

Just past the door, next to the console, is another communicator you can scan.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Secure the Helios Device
:: Pick up the Power Cell 0/1
           :: Install the Power Cell
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will need to restore power to a door using a power cell.  Have your
partner pick it up or you can pick it up and insert it into the port to
continue.  Take out the infected Vulcan inside the room and have Spock mind
meld with him to gain a pass code.  The pass code is for the storage room
inside the room the infected Vulcan was in.  Inside you will find a
communicator that is scannable.

When ready, make your way to the red circle in the next room, making sure to
dispatch any infected Vulcans you come along.  Unlock the next door and take
out the other infected Vulcan.

After a brief semi-garbled communication with Dr. McCoy, head downstairs and
dispatch yet another infected Vulcan.  You can scan the weapon he was holding.
Go through the door to a room with about four more infected Vulcans.

After you take them out, follow the red circle to a turbolift.  You may also
want to grab a second weapon for yourself and your partner before heading to
the turbolift.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                New Vulcan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                               | Helios Lab |
                                                               --------------

Exit the turbolift and go forward.  Behind the console to the left of the door
with the fire in front of it is a communicator you can scan.  Just to the
right of the door that looks like a giant target is a hatch.  Open it and go
down.  Go across and up the ladder.  At the top, tap square to open the hatch
and get ready for your first boss fight.

******************************************************************************
*                             Boss Fight: Unknown                            *
******************************************************************************

Usually what this boss will do first is head towards the power cells.  When he
grabs one, blast it and it will cause a bit of damage.  Basically, just run
around dodging his attacks and heal your partner when he needs it.  When not
dodging, be sure to use the second weapon you picked up to take down its life
bar.  When you lose health, your partner will come heal you.  You may need to
retry this boss a few times before defeating it.  Be sure to scan its body.

Once that thing is down, head through the door it destroyed.  Just inside to
the left is another communicator you can scan.  Follow the red circle.  You
will need to wait for a decontamination scanner to complete before you will be
allowed to proceed.  Go through for a cutscene.

When it is done, take care of the enemies here and be sure to scan their
bodies and weapons.  Head to the turbolift.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Recover the Helios Device
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scan and pick up the stun grenades and replenish ammo as needed, then head
through the doors and assist the Vulcans under attack.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                New Vulcan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                               | Lower Labs |
                                                               --------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Find an alternate path around the Gorn's ambush
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is how to receive the commendation experience.  Just past where the
Vulcans were blown smithereens is a stack of crates.  Behind the crates is a
scannable item.  Climb up and hold square to go to the upper level.  Make your
way through and go left at the last fork.  Take out the Gorn once you are back
down to the lower level.  Across the room, in the corner is another item you
can scan.

Midway through the hall is a side room with a healing station and a
communicator on the middle table on the far side.  Continue to the next door.
There is an object on the wall you can scan.  Pry the door open.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                New Vulcan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                               | Power Room |
                                                               --------------

If you purchased the remote connector, install it and deactivate the terminal
across the way to de-electrify the water.  Otherwise you will need to raise
the platforms you can target with your tricorder and climb across.  There is a
side room on the left if you need to replenish any ammo and there is also a
communicator in here.  Make your way across and through the door.

Climb onto the crates and hold square to request a boost.  Make your way
across and drop down into the next room.  Next to the thing that looks like a
giant speaker is another communicator.  Unlock the door and grab the power
cell from inside this room and place it in the empty port outside to unlock
the next door and enter the turbolift.

Exit for a cutscene, then be ready to deal with some enemies.  After another
cutscene, be ready for yet more enemies.  And then, yes, yet another cutscene.

                                                               --------------

Take out a few more enemies here, then you will need to get to the sick bay.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Heal Kirk
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can steer using the right analog stick.  While moving, you will need to
take out a few more Gorn.

Kirk, you will need to hold off the incoming Gorn.  If you are playing as
Spock, you will need to repair Kirk's leg.

When his leg is healed, take care of any enemies left in the room.  Across
from the gurney on the other side of the room is a communicator.

In the second part, you will need to fight off the same enemies from the first
part along with torpedos and kamikaze fighters.  You can use your shields with
L2.  They can be pulsed, so if you get hit with a kamikaze fighter, tap L2 to
get them off you.  You will also have access to tactical mode by pressing

Objectives :: Meet up with the security team
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There a couple of crates in here that are openable.  Go ahead and loot them
and go through the door for a cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Clear the mess hall of the invading Gorn
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go ahead and clear out the mess hall and make your way to the red circle.  Be
sure to scan weapons and bodies as you go.  Before leaving the mess hall, go
the opposite way to the tables and at the end there is a communicator.
Through the door are a few more Gorn you will need to take care of.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Go to the bio labs
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go through the door, replenish health and ammo as needed, then use the
turbolift.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Find Bones
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the cutscene, be sure to have the remote connector installed and
override the turret.  It will take care of the patrolling Gorn for you.  Don't
forget to scan the turret.  Once through the door, you will view a cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Find Bones without provoking any enemy attacks (Stealth)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to obtain this commendation, you will need to make sure that none of
your enemies turn red when in tricorder view.  Yellow is okay, but once they
turn red, you fail the commendation.  And be sure to knock them out.  So take
care of the two in this room.  One walks into the room you are hiding in.  You
can use the dot in the middle of your screen as your crosshairs and stun and
take him down.  The other one patrolling inside the room should not be that
difficult to take down either.  Scan their bodies after you take them down.

Patrolling the corridor through the other door is a drone.  It can be stunned
and hacked to be placed under your control.  However, it would probably be
safer to stun it and destroy it as it could be the reason you fail the
commendation by attacking any and all enemies, which include infected crew
members.  Scan it after you destroy it.

Past the corridor and through the door are a number of infected crew members.
It is possible to enter the next room without being detected if you are
careful enough.  If you have to, go ahead and knock out one of the infected
crew members.  Make your way to the far corner by the energy station
and hold square for a boost.

Once above, enter the vent and turn right first.  You will first need to
disable a turret.  There also happens to be an infected crew member patrolling
that area.  Be sure to drop down when he is walking away.  Make your way to
the pillar and when he is in the area where the pillar blocks the view of the
turret, stun and take him down.  This will insure that you can override the
turret without losing the commendation.

When you are done here, go back up to the vent and head towards the opposite
end and drop down to the bottom level.  In the middle of the room is a
scannable object.  Outside of the room, you should be able to see a Gorn
patrolling and an infected crew member with his back facing a pillar.  Wait
for the Gorn to go away from you and make your way to the infected crewman and
knock him out.  Enter the room he was "guarding" and unlock the panel on the
ceiling then go up.

Make your way across and make sure the patrolling infected crewman is out of
the room before dropping down.  Take him down before trying to exit the room.
There is a scannable object in this room.  Make your way across the room to
the next room and pry open the door to the storage room, where you will find
Dr. McCoy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives   :: Destroy the three Gorn devices 0/3
Commendation :: Complete your objectives without directly killing any
             :: Infected (Non-Lethal)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the cutscene, you will need to disable three of the Gorn hacking
devices.  You can either hack them or just blow them to smithereens.  Note
that hacking them will give you experience.  You can always blow them up
afterwards.  Once you get out into the hallway, you will have 400 seconds to
disable all three.  So just make your way to the closest one to you and take
them out one by one.

The closest one is in the room just a little past the turret.  As you exit the
room, turn right and it will be the first door on the left.  Inside you will
find a drone and a Gorn.  Stun and hack the drone and take out the Gorn, then
you can hack the device.  Don't forget to scan the Gorn and his weapon.

Straight from the door in this room on the ceiling is a panel you can unlock.
If you go up through the vent here, it will take you to another room with
another scannable object.  Return to the previous room via the vent.

The next closest one is straight down the hall.  You will have to go through a
couple of infected crewmen to get to it.  This one will be guarded by a few
Gorn.  Take them out, then hack the device and move on to the last one.

Enter the storage room close to where you disabled the second device and
unlock the hatch on the ceiling and go up.  Enter the vent, make your way
across, and drop down.  Hack the door open and make your way to the final
device, which should be unguarded.  Hack the device to complete this
objective.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective :: Reach the next laboratory section
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head back towards the room you came from but go around it in the hall towards
another turret that you will need to override.  Be sure to install the remote
connector then get as close as you can to the opening without provoking the
turret and hack the panel to disable it.  Then you can proceed through the
door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Complete your objectives without provoking any enemy
             :: attacks (Stealth)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the cutscene, hack the mine and wait for the patrolling Gorn to come
back to set off the mine.  Go through the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective :: Retrieve the samples for Bones' research 0/2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Across the way to the right is a mine that a patrolling Gorn walks by.  Hack
it to get rid of that patrol.  Over to the left across the platform is another
mine you will need to hack, so it does not blow you up.  Above that mine is
another Tribble, so be sure to scan it.  Down below is the turret control
panel and a mine close to it.  You will need to hang off the side of the
platform in order to be able to target the mine to hack it.  The difficult
part about this area is that if you override the turret, you lose your
commendation.  So you will need to take out the Gorn before overriding the
turret.  If you have enough experience points for the sound decoy go ahead and
purchase it if you do not have it yet and install it.  When one of the
patrolling Gorn moves close by, you can lure it to the mine by the control
panel and take it out.

Back up on the platform, if you angle it just right, you can target and hack
another mine down below behind another Gorn.  Install the remote connector and
you should be able to hack the console up here for the first sample.  Quickly
make your way towards the console while the Gorn is teleporting and you should
be able to do a stealth take down when he teleports back up here.

Go past the console and wait for the drone to pass by.  You can drop down to
the lower level from here.  Take cover behind the boxes there.  When the drone
comes close enough, use the small dot in the center of the screen as your
crosshair to stun it and hack it to gain control of it.  Now go up the small
set of stairs to the left and move forward to the other set of small stairs.
You should be far enough out of range from the turret to target the second
console.  Do so and hack it to get the second sample.

I would suggest now to slowly make your way in the middle of the room taking
care of the laser sensors of the turret so you can get in range of the control
panel and hack it.  There is also a console you can scan close by where you
hacked the second sample console from.  Across from the turret is another
scannable console, just past the small room.  And just a little past the door
you need to go through is another scannable console.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives   :: Head to the Shuttle Bay
Commendation :: Reach the Shuttle Bay without directly killing any
             :: Infected (Non-Lethal)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the door behind you, if you hacked the second sample console from the
last position, will be three Gorn.  Kill them and go through the door.  Be
careful because there is a mine inside, so go ahead and hack it and continue
on.

Through the door will be a couple of Gorn and about three infected crewmen.
Be sure not to kill the crewmen if you want to receive the experience for the
commendation.  Head straight through, and feel free to hack any of the drones
to help you dispatch the Gorns.

About midway down this hall will be a door that is unlocked.  Go in and on the
far side of the room you will see a lootable crate.  Above the crate you
should see a communicator.

One of the Gorns patrols the hall to the left.  Wait for him to go in the
opposite direction then peek out a little bit and turn right.  There is a mine
there that you can hack.  Now, you can take out the Gorn with extreme
prejudice here if you like.  You should also note that the Gorn that can
teleport, the one that is operating the central console, can also summon
reinforcements.  Just be sure to override the turret.  The console is on the
right side.  There is also another mine in front of the door you need to hack.
Go ahead and hack that center console to restore power to the door and go
through, then enter the turbolift.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Assist in clearing the Gorn from the shuttlebay
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Move forward a bit and the crewman will begin talking.  After the explosion,
help kill the attacking Gorn, then go through the door.  After the cutscene,
clear out two more Gorn and scan their bodies.  Another cutscene will play,
after which you will be attacked by two more Gorn.  Cross the bridge and six
more will attack you, coming in three waves of pairs.

Near one of the damaged shuttle craft is a panel.  Go past it into the open
doorway to find a scannable object.  Go back to the panel and open it and
descend to the lower level where a Gorn lies in hiding, waiting to surprise
attack you. Kill it and go up the opposite ladder, unlock the panel, and help
the crewmen there clear out more Gorn.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Go to the power station
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the cutscene, move towards the bridge.  If you need to replenish ammo
and health, you can go back towards the hatch you came through and pick up the</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
power cell on the floor and place it in the port on the upper platform to open
the door to energy and healing stations.  On the crates outside of the room
is a communicator.  Back on the lower level on top of some crates near the
shuttle that is on fire is a scannable object.

Now, you will need to make it across the bridge.  In order to do so, you will
need to sprint, then jump.  Once across, head straight to the crate next to
the fire.  On it is another scannable object.  Go through the door and hallway
and be cautious of the attacking Gorn.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Gain access to the power station
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hack the control panel ahead to open the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Gain access without provoking any enemy attacks (Stealth)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to receive the experience points from the commendation, you will need
to remain undetected.  The difficult one to get by is the Gorn by the central
control panel.  Here is the order I went in.  First, go down the way, taking
cover behind the crate.  When the patrolling Gorn on the middle level turns
around, follow it into the side room and take it down.  Next, wait for the
patrolling Gorn on the upper level to go in the opposite direction before you
take him down.  Come back to the side where you went into the side room and
slowly head towards the stationary Gorn.  Once the patrolling Gorn on the
bottom level looks away, take this one down and perform a mind meld to receive
the pass code for the panel on the upper level.  You can also scan the console
the Gorn was at as well as his body.

Now take out the Gorn patrolling the lower level and go under the middle level
towards a door you have to pry open.  Towards the back is a communicator.
Head back up to the upper level.

Unlock the door and head in.  Inside are two patrolling Gorn.  It is possible
to take them both out without each noticing.  Past the hallway, hide behind
the single crate and wait for one Gorn to come into the hallway.  Don't worry,
he will stay near the opening.  Wait for the other Gorn to move away before
stunning and taking this one down.  This will allow you to move into position
next to the opening to take down the remaining Gorn.  Inside the room is a
console you will need to hack with your partner.  Again, take the left one as
it is the easier one.  There is also a console in the middle of the room you
can scan.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Get to the control room
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the door below and be careful of the patrolling Gorn.  It will be
easier for you if you do stealth take downs, even though it is not a
requirement.  This will prevent reinforcements from coming in.  There are two
on the upper level, one on the lower level, and one in the control room.  I
suggest stunning the one closest to you as soon as it starts walking back
towards the damaged structure and taking it down.  Then you can take out the
one patrolling the housing.  The one on the bottom level you can jump down to
and stun from behind and take it down.  The one inside the control room should
be simple to take down.  The panel above the console can be scanned.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Bring all 3 power cores back online 0/3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using your tricorder, follow the circuit lines.  The closest one will be in an
adjacent room.  Hack the control panel to gain entry and then hack the panel
on the far wall.  Exit the room and make a left, following the next circuit
line to the second panel.  Be sure to install the remote connector in order to
reach this one.  By now, a patrolling Gorn should have appeared on the upper
level.  As it comes down, be sure to get ready to stun and take him down.

Now for the final panel.  Head back up to the upper level and go around the
wreckage where you will find a ladder.  Ascend to the platform above and move
forward to have a portion of it blown away.  If you turn the camera up a bit,
you will see you can jump up to sections that you can grab.  So hop up and
make your way across and hack the last control panel.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Reroute the power at the console
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this point, two more Gorn should have entered the room.  I would suggest
taking care of them before returning to the control room.  These are the ones
that can summon reinforcements.  If they do end up calling in reinforcements,
the side rooms have healing stations if you need them.

Once they are dispatched, head back to the control room and hack the left
console.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Escape the power station
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By now, there should be more Gorn, so be sure to take care of them and head
out of this room.  Follow the red circle and unlock the door.  If you are
careful, you can make it through this area without any of the Gorn calling in
reinforcements.  You just need to time your stuns and take them down stealth-
like.  Towards the big open area, you should see a Gorn patrolling the upper
level.  Go ahead and stun him and shoot him dead, then head to the door and
pry it open.  Enter the turbolift.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head towards the red circle and scan one of the ETTs before picking one up.
Target your partner with it and hold down R2 to tag him.  On the other side of
the door past the fire is a transport pad.  Aim the ETT at it and press R1 to
teleport your partner across, who will then teleport you.

Once on the opposite side of the door, move forward bit and turn right and you
should see a power cell.  Teleport your partner across and have him pick up
the power cell.  Go around the corner and teleport your partner again and have
him insert the power cell into the port in the adjoining room.  Next to the
returning teleport pad on a shelf is a communicator.

Go through the now functioning door and pry open the next door.  Go to the
opposite end of the walkway and you will find a control panel.  Deactivate it
to turn off the electricity to make it safe to transport to the next pad.
Turn the camera so you can see the next pad and transport your partner to it,
who will then transport you, then enter the turbolift.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Access the relay tower antenna control
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exit the turbolift and go up the ladder and you will be greeted with a
cutscene.

Commendation :: Complete your objectives without directly killing any
             :: Infected (Non-Lethal)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head towards the transport pad where you will find an infected crewman.  A
stun will disable him without having to take him down.  Continue to the next
transport pad.  Here, you will have to deal with three drones.  You can try to
hack them if you want.  After you are done with them, continue to the next
transport pad, and then the next one after that right above you.

Up here, there will be three more drones.  Do with them as you like, then make
your way to the next transport pad, and then the next just a bit forward.
Here, you will need to take out some infected crewmen.  Remember to just stun
them and not kill them.  Since you are out in space, a stun will be enough to
disable them.  Once past them, teleport to the next transport pad, and then
the last transport pad out here.  Make your way to the access hatch and unlock
it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Power up the antennas 0/2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once inside, climb the ladder and open the panel above.  Head to the closest
red circle to you and bypass the circuit.  You will then need to make your way
to the other panel and bypass that circuit as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Open the discharge port 0/4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once that is complete, you will need to open four discharge ports.  You can do
this using your tricorder.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Escape from the room before it blows up 0/1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now it is time to get out of there.  Head to the red circle and descend the

Enter the room and you will come up against three drones.  Do as you like with
them.  Inside this room there is a communicator.  Enter the next room.
Gravity will be restored and the opposite door will open.  Head through the
next set of doors to see the room partially destroyed.  Jump to the platform
on the right, then jump across the way to the left, and walk across the beams
to the opposite end of the room and pry open the door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Rescue the trapped Starbase crew
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will need to put out the fires by accessing two control panels.  One is
above you and the other is towards the trapped crewmen.  If you go into the
left doorway, you will see a scannable object.

Head through the next door and make your way to the upper level.  Go around
and use the beam to get across.  Go through the doorway and down the hole.
Down here, the ceiling will collapse and two drones will begin attacking.
Take them out or hack them and continue to the upper level.  Up top, there
will be three Gorn and another drone, so take care of them.  Just before the
doorway is another scannable object.  Continue through the doorway.  Around
the corner will be two more Gorn.  Kill them and on the other end of the room
across from where you entered will be another scannable object.  Drop down the
hole.

Unlock the door and go through.  Take out the Gorn patrolling the hall, then
you can stun and hack the two drones in the next room.  To the left of the
door is a ramp you can go up.  Follow the hallway to a scannable object.  Make
your way to the upper level on the opposite end of the room.  On your way up,
more drones will appear.  If you are in range, you can try to hack them.
Otherwise, just let the drones you already control take care of them.  Head
down to the open doorway and enter it for a cutscene.

Continue forward and pry the door open.  Then enter the turbolift.

Nothing difficult here.  Just be sure to stun and take down the infected
crewmen.  You can either hack or destroy the drones.  On the bottom level to
the right of where you started is a communicator.  Also, be sure to scan these
new drones.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Scan the infected crewmen for Bones

You will need to make him appear before you can retaliate.  You can do this by
activating the fire suppression system located around the room.  When he is
visible, attack.  Eventually, he will withdraw and enter the turbolift system.

Be sure to enter the rooms and scan all the items you find in there and then
head to the bottom-most level to find a communicator.  On the upper level
on the opposite side of the turbolift, there is a console you can scan.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head towards the turbolift the Gorn Lieutenant entered and scan the blood it
left on the wall.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Pursue the Gorn Lieutenant down the turbolift
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go down one level and enter the turbolift.  Descend the ladder and follow the
blood trail, taking care of the turbolifts.  You can dodge them by running
into alcoves.  Head towards the red circle while dodging the turbolifts.  Go
down another ladder and go forward for a cutscene.

Move forward and be careful of the drone.  Head towards the red circle and it
will be more turbolift dodging.  Across from where you descend you will see a
health and energy station.  Further past these is a communicator.  You will
have to take care of mines and more drones.  Continue forward for a cutscene.
When it is over, continue following the red circle and enter the turbolift.

What you will need to do is defeat the Gorn Lieutenant before he can make off
with one of your shuttle craft.  First, scan him with your tricorder so his
cloak wears off and you can attack him.  While your drones and partner attack,
go ahead and hack any consoles he uses in order to thwart his attempts at
escape.

You will need to steer your character through the canyon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Find a way to the Outpost
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Move forward and go up to the upper level.  Move a bit forward for a cutscene.
Before you can continue, you will need to dispatch some Gorn on the cliff
face.  De-cloak them using your tricorder and take care of them.  Once they
are down, continue to follow the red circle.  Scan the Gorn and their weapons.
You will come upon a healing and energy station and a lootable crate.  On the
way, you will see a scannable object in the grass.

If you want to have some fun, take the weapon from the crate and crouch to the
end of the bridge and you can take out the two Gorn that are patrolling the
area.  Be sure to scan the weapon you put down.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Extend the bridge
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you are ready, make your way opposite of the lootable crate and request a
boost.  Then ride the zipline down to the ledges.  Climb up and take cover
because you will need to take out some enemies.  Once they are taken care of,
cross the narrow bridge and climb up to the higher ledge and take cover again.
There is another Gorn on the cliff face here that you will need to de-cloak
before you can continue.

Once that one is dead, jump the short gap to the ledge and make your way to
the right.  You should see another patrolling Gorn above, but he should not
see you.  Climb up and you should have no problem taking him out.  Jump the
short gap and take cover again.  There are two more Gorn on the cliff face you
will need to de-cloak and kill before you can continue.

After they are dead, jump across the gap to the ledge and drop down.  Turn
left, sprint, and jump across the gap to the next ledge and climb up.  Once
up, activate the panel to extend the bridge.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Infiltrate the Outpost
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Follow the red circle and you will view a cutscene.  Hack the panel to disable
the security, scan the camera, then pry open the doors.  Inside, replenish
health and ammo as needed, then proceed through the next set of doors.  After
the cutscene, you will need to find a way to enter the facility.  You can try
the indirect way as suggested, or you can try to take out the enemies here.
The choice is up to you.  If you choose to take out the enemies first, you
will need to make sure you take out the one patrolling near the area you enter
as he can summon reinforcements.  The next one you should take out is the one
to the right as the path goes up.  The drone should be stationary at this
point with this Gorn patrolling.  Once he gets close enough, you should be
able to stun him and take him down.  Drop down to the lower path and slowly
make your way around until you can see the drone.  From here, you should be
able to stun and destroy it.  Be sure to scan it, too.

Continue along the path and you will be able to see the last Gorn on its
patrol.  When he is at his furthest point away from you, drop down to the
bottom level and wait for him to go down the stairs, at which point you should
climb up and creep up behind him to take him down.  Now go to the door and
hack the left panel to open it.  Enter and replenish health and ammo as needed
then head up to the next door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Complete deactivation of tower shields without provoking
             :: any enemy attacks (Stealth)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The tough part about this commendation is where the vents lead you.  Some of
them are just not ideal if you want to complete this commendation.  Through
this door, you will need to take down the Gorn and disable the security
device.  To the left of the door just inside is an open panel you can drop
down.  Follow the path to a ladder and climb up, which will put you right next
to the panel that will disable the security system in this room.  Hack it,
then take out the Gorn.

Hack the door open and go through for a cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Disable the Coolant System 0/3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now comes the hard part.  You will need to make it to each coolant system and
disable it without being seen.  You may want to stealth take down as many of
these Gorns as you can to clear the way.

Make your way forward to the crates ahead and take cover.  Wait for this
patrolling Gorn to pass by before creeping up behind him with a stealth take
down.  Just past the crates you were hiding behind is a panel you can open.
Open it and go down.  At the bottom you will find the first coolant system.
Liberate the power cell to disable it.  Be careful down here.  Enemies can see
you from above because parts of the floor are made with transparent material.
Just past it to the right is a scannable object.

Follow the path to another ladder.  Go up, unlock the panel, and you will end
up at the entry area of this room.  Make your way past the panel you opened.
On the wall you should see a vent you can open through tricorder view.  Open
it and when the Gorn patrolling is not looking, enter.  Follow the vent to a
room and crouch behind some crates.  When the Gorn enters, stun it and take it
down.  Loot the crate in here then go across the room and open the panel that
you see and descend.

Remove the power cell here to disable the second coolant system, then quickly
move away from the area as there is a patrol right above you that may see you.
If you go forward, you will find a ladder that you can go up that will take
you to an open area where you will be prone to failing your commendation.  I
would suggest going back to that room and trying to lure some enemies away
using the sound decoy.

Once you have cleared the immediate area, move forward and take cover behind
the crates just past the computer where that Gorn was moving back and forth.
Your next destination is that room down at the end where the last Gorn is
walking into.  So stealth take him down and enter the room.  Inside is a
scannable object.  Do not override the turret here.  This will cause it to
attack your enemies and result in you failing the commendation.  To the
immediate left inside is a panel you can open.  Do so and go down and you
will find the final power cell.  Remove it and you will view a cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Access the core
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Turn around and drop down the hole and follow the path until you get to the
core.  Deactivate it from your hiding spot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Open the Tower Shields
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go back and climb back up one level and return to the ladder.  Do not enter
the room right away because while you were down below, some enemies repopped.
Wait for the patrol to exit the room before entering the room and finding
cover.  You can use the same tactic you did earlier using the sound decoy to
lure patrolling enemies into the room and then stunning and taking them down.

Exit the room and hug the left wall and make your way to a panel you have to
reopen.  Drop down and follow the path back to the other ladder that leads to
a previous room.  Enter the room and wait for the Gorn to enter, then stun him
and take him down.

Exit the room and hug the left wall again and make your way to another panel
you have to reopen and drop down.  Follow the path back to the other ladder
and go up.  This brings you back to the start of the area.  Now head towards
the red circle until you get to a room with a console.  Hack the left panel.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Plant explosives on the tower
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once the cutscene is over, open the panel and go down.  Open the vent and go
through to exit.  The vent leads outside.  Just like earlier, it would be
easier for you to do stealth take downs, unless you want to deal with
reinforcements.  Start with the big guy.  His path is back and forth straight
from the door.  You can do a stealth take down easily on him.  The next one is
the Gorn patrolling up the path where the lootable crate is.  Take cover
behind the rocks next to where you took down the big Gorn.  You can use a
sound decoy to lure him close and then stun and take him down.  Next, you can
head towards where the other lootable crate is.  You can take cover near the
rocks close to the crate and lure another patrolling Gorn with a sound decoy
and take him down the same way as the last one.

Go to where the drop to the lower path is and take cover behind the rock there
and lure the fourth and last Gorn towards you and take him out the same way.
Now you can head safely towards the tower safely.  Climb up the ladder for a
cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Move towards the water for a cutscene.  When you are ready, enter the water.
You will need to steer with the right analog stick and you only have 60
seconds worth of air.  There are a couple of mines down here that you will
need to bypass.  Do so and surface, then climb out of the water.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Make your way through the Tunnel System
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head through the small gap and you will see a scannable object immediately in
front of you.  Head into the next water area.  Below, there is another
scannable object and another mine to hack.  Just past it is an area you can
surface to in case you need more air.  When you are ready, continue on,
following the red circle, hacking more mines you come across and surfacing for
air when needed.

Once you are out of the water, you will see another scannable object directly
ahead.  climb down to the bottom and head across the way and boost your
partner up, then continue on for a cutscene.  You will come across a health
station and some enemies that explode upon contact.  You can stun one in this
group of three and all three will explode.  Be sure to scan them.  Continuing
on, you may want to avoid these guys if possible.  If not, you need to destroy
their nest, otherwise they will keep respawning.  Keep going and you will come
upon an energy station.

Just past the energy station, you can boost your partner up.  Do so then
enter the crawl space.  On the other side is another watery adventure, so
dive on in for a short swim, being careful of another mine that you need to
bypass.  Climb out after you surface for a cutscene.  After the conversation,
go ahead and take care of the two genetically altered dog-like things and
continue to follow the red circle.  Up ahead a bit, you will need to kill more
of those dog things.  Do so, scan their bodies, and continue on.

Around the bend, a few more dogs come running at you, so go ahead and kill
them as well, then keep moving towards the red circle.  If you need to
replenish health and ammo, there is a station on a ledge above you that you
can get to.  Past the second waterfall is a path going up.  Sprint up and jump
at the end to catch the ledge.  Pull yourself up and walk across the make-
shift bridge.  When you are ready, head down towards the red circle.  In this
next area, you will need to make your way to the upper ledge.  You will need
to first get up the first ledge on the far side.  Turn right and jump to the
ledge you see there.  Move up then to the right.  Now you will need to jump to
the pillar behind you, then climb to the top of it.  Turn the camera to the
right and jump to an upper ledge, then climb the rest of the way up.  At the
top, perform a co-op boost.

Go through the small opening.  On the other side is a scannable object.  There
is an energy station here should you need it.  You should see those giant
exploding termite things.  You can actually take them out from this end.  When
you are ready, head towards the left where you should see a very narrow ledge.
Move to where the giant termites were.  If you crouch down to above where the
larger group was, you should be able to take out two patrolling Gorn on the
far ledge, above where you are heading to.

When you are ready, you will need to jump down to where the larger group of
giant termites were.  Jump down to the next lower level and be sure to take
out the nest you see across the gap in front of you.  Turn around and walk
across a narrow bridge to a lower ledge, then turn the camera right.  You will
need to jump across to the wall and grab on to the ledges.  Jump up as far as
you can, then jump right, shimmy right, and climb up.  Go ahead and do another
co-op boost to get to the upper area.  Head into the cavern.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commendation :: Find an alternate path leading around the Gorn checkpoint
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take care of the Gorn shooting you.  Ahead you should see lasers from a
turret.  In order to earn the experience from this commendation, you will have
to go forego a frontal assault.  Take cover behind the solitary rock and you
should see a small opening to the left.  When the laser sensors are moving in
the opposite direction, head in that direction and dive into the water.  You
should be swimming into an underwater tunnel lined with mines that you will
need to bypass.  Surface on the opposite side to earn the commendation.

Climb up and override the turret.  You will need to clear out the enemies as
well.  Above is another turret, which you should override.  Follow the path up
and around and you can override it from safety.  Below this is the first
turret you saw.  You can safely override it since its oscillation angle does
not go beyond 180 degrees and you will be coming up from its rear.  Be sure to
scan any Gorn and weapons here that you have not scanned yet.

When you are ready, move towards the door that was being guarded.  You will
need to hack the control panel, then activate it to unlock the door.  Inside,
perform a co-op boost and move forward.

Objectives   :: Access the Complex
Commendation :: Find an alternate path leading into the Complex
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Move forward a bit so you can get a look at the layout.  You can try to blast
you way through here, but then you will have to deal with reinforcements.  I
would suggest doing stealth take downs.  First, jump across to the pillar and
climb up to its top.  Wait for the patrolling Gorn to turn around before
jumping to the path across.  As he walks up, make your way to the crates and
when he comes back down, stun him and take him down.  Further up the path is
another stack of crates you can hide behind and another patrolling Gorn.  You
can do a stun and take down when this one is not looking.  Now, go back to
those second crates you were hiding behind and climb up to the upper ledge to
the giant tanks.  Climb up the tanks and shimmy to the left and jump across to
the other one and shimmy left above the small catwalk.  Wait for another Gorn
to move away before dropping down and hiding behind a rock.  Wait for this one
to come back to do a stealth take down.  Towards the back on top of a crate is
a scannable object.  One more Gorn will be patrolling the bridge.  Activate
the bridge controls with your tricorder so the Gorn can walk across.  Wait for
it to turn around before doing a stealth take down on it as well.

Now, head across the bridge, but do not enter the door.  We are trying for
that commendation.  Instead, go around the corner to where the security camera
is.  Do not worry about any reinforcements since you took out all the enemies
in this particular area.  There will not be anyone to send for reinforcements.
Go ahead and hack the control panel for the security to turn off the alarm
then head opposite of the control panel to find a scannable object on a
crate, then perform a co-op boost.  Use your tricorder to find out where if
you are having difficulty locating it.  Head to the vent, open it, then enter
it.  Go through and you will be on the other side of the door.  Loot the
crate if you want to, then step into the teleporter and use it.

On the other side, walk out to the ledge and see if you can hack the drone
flying around.  It may take a bit of aiming, but you should be able to get it.
Now, jump from tank to tank, making sure to keep out of sight, to the last
tank.  You can override the turret from up here.  Do so and this will help
reduce the amount of enemies you will need to deal with it.  Drop down to the
ground and take care of any left over Gorn giving you trouble.  On the crates
hiding by where you dropped down is a scannable object.  Use the teleporter
next to the turret control panel.

Up here, you will find three flaming vents.  Hack the control panels to turn
them off.  In the last vent is a Tribble.  In the middle vent is a ladder
going down.  Descend to complete the commendation.  Move forward and unlock
the panel and go down to the room below.  Replenish ammo and health as needed.
Next to a lootable crate is a communicator.  Hack the panel to unlock the
door.  Head out of this room.  Straight ahead is a door that had a turret you
had hacked from the hanging tank, which just leads back outside.  So, make a
left and hack the left panel to unlock the door.  Go through and head towards
the next door.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will not be able to stun the Gorn in this room with one shot.  Instead,
wait for it to turn its back and take it down and scan its body.  On the other
side of the door is a security camera, so I would advise not to go that way.
Instead, open the panel behind one of the computers and go down.  Follow the
path to another ladder and go up, open the panel, and enter the empty room.
In here is the control panel that you can hack to disable the security camera.
Do so, then you will need to find a way get past two more Gorn patrols.  You
can attempt to do stealth take downs by luring one into the room you are in.
You will need to take out at least the one that comes close to the ramp.  Once
that one is down, stun take the other one down and perform a mind meld for a
pass code.  Head to the left side of the room where you will find a panel to
open.  Go down and make your way to the opposite side of the tunnel to another
ladder.  Go up, open the panel, and enter the locked room.  Activate the
console here to complete the commendation.  You may now override the turret.

Exit the room and go through the doors behind the turret.  Go down the hall to
a door you with two control panels.  Hack the left one to unlock the door.  Go
through for a cutscene.

Objectives :: Search the Cells

If you time it right, you can stealth take down the two patrolling Gorn here.
Wait for the axe wielding one to walk away, then stun and take down the other
one.  Next, hack the control panel to unlock the nearby door and wait inside
for the axe wielding Gorn to return.  Once it turns its back, you can take it
down from behind.  There is also a scannable object inside this room.  Up
ahead is a bridge with a security camera above it.  Do not worry about
triggering the alarm.  If you were following this guide, you should have taken
out the two Gorn in here that could have called for reinforcements.  If the
alarm is annoying you, the control panel is on the bridge below.  Just follow
the circuit line.  Unlock the door up ahead and you will find a communicator.
Then follow the red circle as it points you to another door, so go on through.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Reach Commodore Daniels
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The door up ahead leads to a room with a health and energy station.  If you
need to use them, hack the panel to enter.  There is also a communicator in
here.  Otherwise, follow the hall to another door with two panels.  Hack the
left one to unlock it and go through.  There are two patrolling Gorn in
here.  One will walk to the crates below you.  You can stealth take him out.
Make sure you stay out of sight of the security system.  You can follow the
remaining Gorn into the side room and take him out in there.  On the crates
you will find a scannable object.  There is a device you can hack next to the
security system that will prevent drones from being summoned.

In the side room on the far side is a panel you can unlock.  Do so and go
down.  Open the vent, enter it, and make your way to the other side.  Down
here you will find the panel to hack the security system.  Turn it off and
disable the drone summoner as well.  Go back up and hack the panel under the
security camera to unlock the door.  Enter the room and move towards Commodore
Daniels for a cutscene.

Take out the Gorn that have started attacking you.  Install and use the
grenade hacker if you have it.  Once they are dealt with, head towards the
door and activate the panel to unlock the door outside.  Once it is unlocked,
go through.  Go up the hallway to the next door and enter for a cutscene.

First, you will need a weapon since yours was confiscated.  So pick up
whatever you come across as you can.  You will be up against two axe wielding
Gorn.  Do your best to avoid and attack them.  Your partner will assist you.
The second set of enemies will be Gorn zerkers and giant exploding termites.
Shortly thereafter, two more axe wielding Gorn appear, regardless of whether
or not you have dispatched the entirety of the second set.  The last wave is a
bunch of those exploding termites.  Once the last one is dead, you will view a
cutscene.

Exit the turbolift, turn right, head forward, and take cover behind the wall.
Make your way to one end for a cutscene.  First, you will need to bypass the
mines closest to you.  Start with the left one, then the right one.  These two
mines will take care of the two Gorn patrolling closest to your location.
Next, you will need to disable the turrets.  They are located on the left and
right sides of the room.  Start with either one.  You can get close enough to
override the turrets if you are patient and time it correctly.  After you
disable one turret, bypass two mines close by.  Then repeat the process for
the opposite side of the room.  Now, make your way to the center console.  You
can lure the patrolling Gorn on the opposite side of the room to one of the
mines using your sound decoy.

When the Gorn are all dispatched, you can hack the console.  Hack the left one
to restore power to the control panel ahead.  Head towards the door, taking
care of the mine in front of it.  Be sure to bypass it, then unlock the door
and go through.  There are two Gorn in this room.  If you are careful, you can
do stealth take downs.  Head to the upper level and to the left you will find
a communicator.  Make your way to the red circle.  Pry open the door for a
cutscene.

Unlock the door and go straight ahead to the next room.  There is a
communicator towards the back.  Go down the stairs to the bottom where there
are two lootable chests and a scannable console.  Then head back up and go
down the set of stairs you passed by earlier to the door at the bottom.  This
area has three patrolling Gorn.  The first one you see moves between the
current level and one level down.  Since it faces away for quite a while, you
should be able to stun him and take him down on this level.  Move across to
the opposite side of the room and you should be able to use a sound decoy to
lure the second Gorn a bit up so you can stun and take him down as well.
After that, you can stun and take down the last patrolling Gorn to complete
the commendation.  The large pipe in the middle is scannable and on the far
end of the room is a scannable object.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Wait for Keenser at Core Station Three
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the closer of the two red circles.  Keenser will be the further one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Go to the upper Warp Core
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once Keenser arrives, listen to Mr. Scott, then head to the upper warp core.
Follow the red circle and pry the door open.  There is a health and ammo
replenishment station in this room.  Use them if you needed, then go up the
ladder, unlock the panel, and head up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Stop the Gorn from messing with the cores
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will find a scannable console up here.  Head to the opposite side of the
room where you will find a vent.  Open it, then wait for the patrolling Gorn
to pass by and the turret detection lasers to move in the opposite direction
before attempting to enter the vent.  Make your way to the opposite end and
open the vent.  If you angle yourself just right, you can override the turret
without exiting the vent.  Now, just wait for the Gorn to pass by and get
attacked.  On the left side of the room is a terminal you can scan.  Once the
Gorn are dead, you will view a cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Release pressure and lower Core One
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the opposite end of the room from where you entered is another turret that
you may want to override.  There are also some mines that you may want to
bypass while you are.  When you are ready, have your part activate the
terminal on the bottom level while you work the top one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Seal the containment drum to to stop the radiation leak
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By now, more Gorn will have entered the room.  Fortunately, you can access the
terminal from up above.  Activate it and then take care of any Gorn that have
not yet been taken out by your turrets.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Release pressure and lower Core Three
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Repeat what you did for the first core.  There is also a scannable terminal up
here.  Then head to the room on the upper level and you should find a
communicator inside.

Heal and replenish ammo as needed, then unlock the panel and descend the
ladder.  At the bottom, unlock the door and go through.  You will need to take
out the enemies in this room that you had cleared out earlier while making
sure that you do not kill any of the infected crewmen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Proceed down the hallway.  The room at the end has a scannable object.  Exit
the room and unlock the panel.  Descend the ladder.  At the bottom, unlock the
door.  This is the difficult part.  You will need to dispatch your enemies
without having them turn red in tricorder view.  There are two infected
crewmen on the top level.  There is a lot of space that separates them, so
taking them down should not be too difficult.  Just be careful of being seen
by the enemies on the bottom level.  Towards the stairs are two mines.  Bypass
them then ease your way downstairs where you will need to bypass two more
mines.

On the bottom level are two infected crewmen and one Gorn.  You can lure the
Gorn with a sound decoy to the mine furthest from you to take him out.  This
should alert the two infected crewmen.  You should then be able to lure one to
the other mine to take him out.  The other should move away, allowing you to
stun and take him down.  Enter the control room and go up the stairs to one of
the generators.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Find and repair the control panel for each of the two
           :: generators 0/2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use tricorder view to follow the circuit lines.  One is in a room on the
bottom level across the way.  Begin with that one.  Unlock the door, enter the
room, and activate the control panel.  By now, the infected crewmen on the
upper level should have respawned.  So we will take an alternate route instead.
Exit the room and follow the wall to a vent.  Open it, enter, and follow
through to the opposite side.  Ascend the ladder and enter the other vent up
here and go through it.  This will place you in the room with the second
control panel, so go ahead and activate it.

The panel for the door next door now has power, so you can go open the door.
In here is a healing and energy station along with a communicator.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Return to the control room to divert power to medbay
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go ahead and take care of the two infected crewmen up here again.  Then head
back towards the stairs.  Two infected crewmen should have respawned
downstairs.  If you need to restore health and ammo, the room adjacent to the
stairs can now be unlocked and you will find a health and energy
station inside.  You should be able to lure one of the infected crewmen
downstairs toward the second mine you bypassed earlier using sound decoys.
Go back upstairs and enter the room with the second control panel.  You will
need to return downstairs via the ventilation system.  Once downstairs, lock
the door the infected crewman is behind and return to the control room and
hack the left generator.

Commendation :: Complete your objectives without directly killing any
             :: Infected (Non-Lethal)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The area will now be populated with Gorn, two downstairs and one upstairs, and
one infected crewman upstairs.  You can stun and stealth take down the one
outside the room you are in.  If you do, be careful of the one upstairs and
the one to the right and make your way to the vent and go to the upper level.
Make your way back to the upper deck and pry open the door.  Enter the room to
the right and take care of the enemies here.  In this room you will find a
scannable object and a communicator.  Unlock the storage room.  There is a
Tribble inside.

Take care of the enemies here, taking care not to kill any of the infected
crewmembers.  Follow the red circle.  You will need to take out the Gorn
guarding the door before you can hack the panel.  Enter the room.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Carry Chekov back to medbay
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick up Chekov and take him to the sick bay.  You can drop him if you need
to to take care of enemies, then come back and retrieve him once the way is
clear.  Remember, do not kill any infected crewmen.  The commendation is still
in effect.  Once you reach the sick bay, you should be safe for a bit.

Take down the infected crewmen here then follow the path and ascend the
ladder.  On the upper deck, bypass the mine you see, then slowly make your way
to the corner and bypass the other mine.  Around the corner, you will need to
clear out the room of the Gorn.  If possible, hack the drones to give you some
extra fire power, then hack the left panel for a cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Return to medbay

Turn around.  There is a scannable object right behind you.

Activate the small platforms so you can hide behind them.  Be sure that the
remote connector is installed so you can hack the security console to disable
the camera.  A little past the security camera is a scannable object.  Across
from that is a door you will need to pry open.  Go past it for now to the end
of the walkway and turn facing left for another scannable object.  Now go back
to the door.  Unlock the door on the other side and stun the Gorn inside and
take him down.  He will be out of range of the security camera a bit further
in.  Activate the small platform so you can hide behind it.  You will see two
panels.  The left one leads to the control panel to the damaged security
camera above you.  Take the right panel and go down where you will find the
control panel to deactivate the functional security camera.  Hack it.  Go back
up and just past the security camera is another panel.  Open it and go down to
find a scannable object.

Go back up and head towards the end.  Make sure you take cover on the wall on
the same side as the locked door.  When the patrolling Gorn comes out, he
should not see you, giving you enough time to stun and take him down.  Now, go
back towards the locked door and track the patrolling Gorn in side the room.
Unlock the door and as soon as you have an opportunity, stun and take him down
as well.  In here is the control panel that controls the security camera
outside, so hack it.  There is also a console which you can hack.  Hack it and
be sure to activate it so the doors across the way will open.

Go through the door and below the security camera to the left is a scannable
console.  Go back down the hall to the right into another door.  Just inside
to the left is a console you can scan.  If you are lucky, the Gorn in here
will be facing in such a way that you can stun him and then take him down.  On
the far side of the room is a Tribble.  Go back to the door you unlocked with
the console and go through.  Take out the Gorn patrolling down this hall and
unlock and enter the door to the right.  Stun and take down the Gorn in here.
There is a health and energy station in here as well as a lootable crate and a
scannable console.

Enter the vent you passed by and head to the opposite end.  If you angle it
just right, you can hack the console there without exiting the vent.  Wait for
the patrol to pass by so you can perform a stealth take down and enter the
room.  Also in this room you will find the control panel for the security
camera outside, so be sure to hack it, which you can do from outside.

Back in the hall, be sure to raise the small platform for cover so you can
take down the Gorn patrolling the hallway here.  When you are ready, head
through the door you unlocked when you hacked the console from the vent.

and pry open the door.  As you walk down the hall, you should see a scannable
object in the room on the left.  At the end of the hall, unlock the door.  As
you go through, make an immediate right and you will see a scannable object.
If you need to replenish anything, there is a teleporter in the side room to
the left you can take that will teleport you to the level above.  Otherwise,
activate the console to extend the bridge and go across.  Use the teleporter
to go across and hack the left terminal for a cutscene.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Proceed to the Targeting Platform
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take care of the Gorn that teleports in, then use the teleporter that he
arrived on.  This will teleport you to the upper level where you will need to
take care of a few Gorn.  If you need it, there is a health and ammo
replenishment station in a side room.  Head forward to one of the two side
rooms and use the teleporter inside to teleport to the lower level.  You
should be able to stealth take down the lone patrolling Gorn down here.  Scan
the tank when you are ready to continue and you will view a cutscene.

Objectives :: Disconnect the Targeting Platform Cables 0/4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Be sure to scan the giant eyeball supercomputer.  You will now have a time
limit of 400 seconds to disconnect the cables.  First thing you will need to
do is override the turrets.  Activate the small platforms so you have
something to hide behind and make your way to the left.  There will be a
control panel you can hack to override the turret down here.  Use the
teleporter go up one level and run around the turret to the corner
where its control panel is and override it.  This will help dispatch some Gorn
that teleport here and allow you deactivate the console here, disconnecting
the first cable.

Take the teleporter closest to the turret control panel and deactivate the
console here to disconnect the second cable, then take care of any enemies up
here.  Move across the way and deactivate the console there to disconnect the
third cable.  You may run into more resistance here.  Take care of them and
hack any drones you have time to takeover.

Take the teleporter just past the third console and quickly run to the left,
where you will find a control panel to override the turret.  Do so, then
deactivate the last console.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objectives :: Destroy the Gorn Targeting Platform
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The clock is still ticking, so make your way back to the upper level and head

Move forward and activate the console to extend the bridge.  Head to the
central platform and take out the Gorn that teleport in.  Be careful of the
extremely tall one.  His weapon is very strong and can dematerialize objects.
When they are all dead, scan the body of the really tall Gorn, then go to the
area they all teleported in from and hack the left panel of the terminal.

patrols the platform in the middle of the room.  The best time to get him is
when he is patrolling the front side of the structure.  Move forward again to
the next giant rock with the symbol on it and you will need to take out this
next Gorn.  Perform a mind meld on him to obtain a pass code and use it on the
console.  Then take out the Gorn across the way and perform another mind meld
on it to obtain another pass code and use it on the console there.

******************************************************************************

Now you get to fight the Gorn Commander.  Watch out for the four grenades he
fires, all at once.  Otherwise, this will be like a standard fight.  You will
also need to avoid the heat sinks that appeared after you overloaded the
plasma transducers.  He can also teleport, so be careful.  When his health
gets low enough, you will view a cutscene.

Enjoy the credits and stay tuned for a cutscene that leads into Star Trek:

Infected Vulcan   : It's not enough for this force to mortally wound their
enemies.  They have to turn them against their own kind.
Yet another reason to make sure that it stays as far away
from our corner of the universe as possible.

Federation Office : There must be a way to reverse the effects of the Gorn
infection.  If anyone can do it, Bones can.  I shudder
think to think what will become of all of us if he can't.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                              Gorn Enemies
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Initiate : The comparatively small brain size on this one suggests that
he's lower on the Gorn totem pole than the other.  The kind
way to say it "a bit slower on the uptake".  The more accurate
way to say it would be "cannon fodder."

Gorn Enforcer : This beastie has a more upright posture, a bigger brain, and a
higher metabolic rate.  If I had to guess, this one would be
in charge of his smaller-brained comrades.  A sort of Gorn
               officer.

Gorn Tech     : Moving up the Gorn evolutionary tree, this one has a bigger
brain that suggests it's better suited to technical tasks than
direct combat.  Much like myself, come to think of it.

Gorn Rusher   : This is a curious one.  Genetic analysis suggests it
represents a lonely outlying branch on the Gorn evolutionary
tree.  Every family has that slightly feral cousin you'd
rather not have round at holidays.  This would be the Gorn
               version.

Gorn Observer : Another big-brained Gorn, which suggests a more advanced role
in their culture than their smaller-brained brethren we've
               encountered.

Gorn Scout    : A particularly nasty specimen, this.  It secretes a viscous
substance over every inch of its body that renders it
invisible to the naked eye.  The goo would be well worth
studying for our own uses, but I'd never want to get close.

Gorn Warrior  : Slightly bigger brain on this one, and slightly older than the
cannon fodder.  Musculature more developed, more aggressive
demeanor.  Not the deadliest of the species, but not to be
               taken lightly.

Gorn Guardian : The thick skin on this one suggests he was designed for close
combat.  The more I learn about the Gorn the creepier it gets,
almost like each type was designed to serve a particular role.
A kind of "directed evolution" of a kind not seen on Earth for
               centuries.  And banned ever since.

Gorpion       : "Gorpion", get it?  "Gorn" plus "Scorpion".  That's how
science works.  Don't try this at home.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                     Gorn Advanced Enemies
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Brute    : Nasty one, this.  Picking up signs of toxic stimulants.  Best
not to poke and prod too much, unless you're poking and
prodding with a very long, very sturdy stick.

Gorn Sentinel : Advanced genetic structure suggests that this fellow is the
pinnacle of the evolutionary mischief the Gorn have been
making.  Approach with caution.  In fact, don't approach at
all.  Run away.  The quicker the better.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                             Gorn Security
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Turret     : Note: Attached control station is hackable using tricorder.
                 Hack changes targeting parameters.
This thing might be the most deadly of the Gorn technology
so far.  I'd stay clear of it.  On the other hand, it does
look like you could use it to give them a taste of their
                 own medicine.

Attack Drone    : Note: Stunning drones allows them to be hacked
An attack drone that appears to be controlled by the
collective Gorn intelligence.  Best to disable them as
quickly as possible, before they can alert the hive mind to
                 your presence.

Exploding Drone : Note: Stunning drones allows them to be hacked
The Gorn made a drone that is suicidal.  Of course they
                 have.

Security Camera : Note: Hack to disable
I guess even the Gorn can't have soldiers everywhere.  If
you're spotted by this... well, don't get spotted by it.
                 It's bad.

Defense Drone   : Note: Stunning drones allows them to be hacked
This drone appears to have been designed to primarily
defensive purposes.  A refereshing change from the otherwise
unwaveringly sadistic design choices of the Gorn.

Vulcan Pulse Cannon      : Primary Fire : Full auto fire pulses
Secondary    : Wide range knockout stun burst
Description            : Unlike the Vulcan Repeater, this Cannon's got a bit
more of an edge to it.  It was developed by Vulcan
engineers after the destruction of their homeworld
by Nero, and it shows.  Less emphasis on quiet
conflict resolution, more focus on getting the job
done as quickly as possible regardless of what
                          stands in the way.

Stun Grenade             : Good for taking care of groups of unfriendly
natives when you don't have time to stun them one
                          by one.

Starfleet Phaser Rifle   : Primary Fire : 3 round burst fire
Secondary    : Deflector shield.  Deflections use
                                         ammunition
Description            : Standard-issue Starfleet rifle.  The big brother of
                          the phaser, equipped with dilithium-enhanced
deflector shield.  Higher magazine capacity and
longer range than a phaser pistol, but not quite as
stealthy.  When you use one, they'll know you're
                          coming.

Captain's Phaser         : Primary Fire : Semi-auto kill shot
                          Secondary    : Stun shot
Description            : Ooh, fancy.  This is a one-of-a-kind phaser created
specially for one Captain James Tiberius Kirk by
his loyal Chief Engineer, who would be me.
                          I took a standard-issue Starfleet phaser and
basically made it better in every way: improved
accuracy, faster reload, less recoil, quicker phase
shift in between stun & kill mode, gave it all
sorts of nifty projectile enhancements, and added a
bio-signature lock that ensures that only the
Captain can use it.  I'm still waiting on my
                          special commendation.

Vulcan Repeater          : Primary Fire : Two round burst kill shots
                          Secondary    : Stun shot
Description            : The quintessential Vulcan weapon.  Efficient, no
bells and whistles, optimized for non-lethal
takedowns, but as deadly as can be when the
situation calls for it.  Much like Commander Spock,
                          come to think of it.

Engineer Transport Tool  : Primary Fire : Transport
                          Secondary : Tag for transport
Description            : I'm very proud of this one.  Think of it as a
transporter for your pocket.  You can send small
objects short distances just like beaming them from
a transporter pad.  I've not finished tests on
organic material yet, so be careful.  Still, quite
a breakthrough.  And thus the name Scott joins
Newton and Einstein in the pantheon.

Starfleet Type III Rifle : Primary Fire : High powered single kill shot
                          Secondary    : Triple kill shot
Description            : No touching this one without advanced combat
training.  It takes the DNA of the standard phaser
and gives it an evolutionary bump.  Not for
friendly, non-lethal encounters.  This one means
                          business.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                              Gorn Weapons
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Ravager    : Primary Fire : Fully automatic plasma shots
                 Secondary    : Knockdown stun
Description   : A nasty projectile weapon used by what I'm calling the
"Initiate" class of Gorn soldiers.  The knockdown secondary
fire should be effective against a wider range of enemies
                 that phasers normally are.

Plasma Grenade  : Standard grenade used by the Gorn for maximum carnage.  It
has the ability to stick to any surface, including us, so be
ready to peel it off and throw it back.  Preferably in the
                 direction it came from.

Gorn Marauder   : Primary Fire : Semi-automatic spread fire shot
                 Secondary    : Knock down grenade
Description   : A particularly brutal weapon intended for close-range
mayhem, not unlike the shotgun used in Earth's history.

Gorn Railer     : Primary Fire : High-powered charge shot that requires pin-
point accuracy.  Damage varies based on the
                                length of the charge
Secondary    : Drone transport beacon.  An Attack Drone
transports instantly and will attack any
                                enemy targets in the vicinity.
Description   : A high-powered charge weapon that can penetrate thin walls
and hit multiple targets at once.  This is evidence that the
Gorn are not simple brutes, but possess a technological
aptitude that allows them to develop weapons that rival
                 Starfleet's in their sophistication.

Gorn Striker    : Primary Fire : Single shot high velocity, high damage
                                projectile
                 Secondary    : Knockdown shot
Description   : The Gorn equivalent of a sniper rifle.  As much as the Gorn
seem to prefer dispatching their enemies at close range,
this weapon is evidence that they'll use whatever means
                 necessary to eliminate the opposition.

Gorn Pillager   : Primary Fire : Fully automatic projectiles
                 Secondary    : Spread shot
Description   : A ballistic weapon stolen from an enslaved race and used by
various Gorn Warrior classes.  I shudder to think what they
would do if they get their hands on Starfleet weapons.  So
                 let's ensure that they don't.

Gorn Arc Driver : Primary Fire : Focused beam of energy that causes mass
destruction.  Most effective on large groups
                                of enemies
Secondary    : Launches slow moving missiles that will
effectively take out entire platoons of
                                enemies
Description   : A ranged energy weapon of considerable destructive power.
If you see one coming, looking for cover should become your
top priority.  I can almost respect the ingenuity that went
                 into this one.  Almost.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                  Tribbles
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tribble (1 of 7) : Okay, I've heard lots of rumors flying around concerning
"Scotty and the Tribble", so let me just take this
opportunity to set the record straight.  A few years ago I
bought a Tribble off a shady trader named Jones.  I'd just
been assigned to the loneliest outpost in all of Starfleet,
on the frozen mudball of Delta Vega, and I thought it might
be nicer to have a pet.  I'd never seen a Tribble before.
I didn't know anything about their... unique metabolism.

Tribble (2 of 7) : I have no problems with the Tribble on Delta Vega.  It just
sat on my desk and made little cooing noises, and given
that my only other companion was a tiny ill-tempered Roylan
who barely said a word, I considered my decision to adopt a
Tribble a wise one.  It didn't eat much, it purred when I
pet it, and it didn't judge me for that incident with the
Admiral's beagle.  All in all, an ideal pet.

Tribble (3 of 7) : I took the Tribble with me when I joined the crew of the
Enterprise.  It lived happily in a corner of Engineering,
until I had the brilliant idea to use it as a test subject
in a new transwarp beaming experiment I had in mind.  I
hypothesized that I could beam a small object all the way
back to Earth while the Enterprise was at warp, not unlike
the way Captain Kirk and myself were able to beam aboard
from Delta Vega.  I contacted my nephew back at Starfleet
Academy, and together we achieved a groundbreaking success
that resulted in my Tribble arriving in San Francisco hale
                  and hearty.

Tribble (4 of 7) : And there my troubles began.  My solitary Tribble must have
found the crispy air of San Francisco Bay absolutely
invigorating, because the little bastard began to multiply
like there was no tomorrow.  Which soon resulted in an
Academy-wide quarantine to prevent wave upon wave of newly-
birthed Tribbles from blanketing the city.  The subsequent
investigation led inevitably to my cousin, which led
                  inevitably to me.

Tribble (5 of 7) : As luck would have it, the Enterprise had just found itself
in orbit around the Tribbles' home planet of Geminorum IV.
Additional Tribbles were brought back aboard for
examination, and we determined that exposure to cold
temperatures slowed the Tribbles' metabolism enough to halt
their reproductive cycle.  The information was relayed back
to Earth, and the Tribble invasion was contained in time by
mass-freezing the sea of fuzzy invaders that had
                  overwhelmed the Academy.

Tribble (6 of 7) : I've heard talk that the Tribbles were not brought back
onboard the Enterprise intentionally, but were in fact
somehow missed by quarantine and ended up in Main
Engineering accidentally.  Rumor has it that the Tribbles
began to multiply so fast that, within an hour access to
Engineering had been compromised, and there was concern
that the ship's warp core coolant system could somehow be
affected.  In short, that the Tribbles could have destroyed
the Enterprise.  As Chief Engineer, I can confidently put
these rumors to rest and assure everyone that the ship was
                  never in any danger.

Tribble (7 of 7) : But I'm done with pets.

Vulcan Hypospray             : A Vulcan hypospray.  And like standard-issue
Federation hyposprays, it's something I'd just
as soon avoid, thank you very much.  Yes, it's
supposed to be less invasive than a needle, but</pre><pre id="faqspan-4">
medicine is still medicine, and the less time I
need to spend under Dr. McCoy's watchful eye
                              the better.

Helios Engineering Schematic : Holographic cross-section of Helios Station
intended for use by engineers to monitor
station functions.  I speak from extensive
experience when I say that if any part of a
                              holographic cross-section of anything starts
blinking red very quickly... you should make
sure you have an escape shuttle ready and
                              waiting.

Helios Control Cluster       : Access point granting engineers access to
                              Helios Station control systems.  Decentralized
command and control allows for rapid response
to emergencies regardless of engineer location.
Which is another way of saying the engineers
never have an excuse for not addressing a
problem, which smells to me like a trap set by
                              blame-obsessed bureaucrats sitting behind a
desk somewhere, who never have to take
responsibility for anything.  But I may be
                              biased.

What do you want me to say?  I'm an engineer, not
a botanist.  Touch it if you want, make a hat out
of it, I don't care.  Can I get on with my work
                            now?

Vulcan Cactus Cluster      : I'm told Vulcan Cacti come in a variety of sizes
and shapes, but all of them share an
incompatibility with the human digestive system.
Not unlike the cuisine of my native Scotland,
come to think of it.  Better to appreciate Vulcan
flora for their aesthetics than their nutritional
                            value.

New Vulcan Avian Scavenger : One of the wonderful things about serving in
Starfleet is discovering new alien species, like
this little fellow from New Vulcan.  And by
wonder I mean "let Spock and his blue shirts
worry about it", because I didn't sign up to go
poking at things that will most likely poke me
back, puncture my skin, and infect me with some
horrible xeno-flu.  The effects of which on my
body Spock will no doubt be delighted to study.

Vulcan Corpse             : Poor bastard.  I don't know a lot about Vulcans,
but I do know that they're tougher than humans by
no small degree.  If something was horrible enough
to do this to a Vulcan... I shudder to think what
                           it would do to me...

Unknown Structural Damage : Deep rending gashes of unknown origin in the side
of otherwise reliably solid colony walls?  I'm
sure it's nothing to worry about.  This is why I
                           don't go on away teams.

Unknown Blood Sample      : Blood of unknown origin splattered on the wall.
Lovely.  They don't teach you about this at the
Academy.  Particularly not in the engineering
lectures.  No, I can safely say alien blood
splatters were not part of the curriculum.  An
egregious hole in my otherwise comprehensive
education.  You'll forgive me if I choose to

Helios device (1 of 3) : I will try to maintain an objective engineer's stance
when it comes to a description of the Helios Device,
out of respect for Vulcans as fellow members of the
Federation... oh, forget it.  What were they
thinking?  Building a fancy toy to drain power from
the sun so they can terraform a new colony?  I'm sure
                        nothing bad could happen...

Helios device (2 of 3) : Here's the thing about Helios: there's a reason no
one tried it before.  I've looked over all the
schematics, and I'm duly impressed by the theories
put into practice.  But that's the rub.  It's still
theory, and it needs to be tested, not rushed into
practical use simply because it might be possible.
Good luck standing between the Vulcans and the
promise of a new home, though.

Helios device (3 of 3) : Pandora's box.  That what they should have called it.
Because that's what the Vulcan's have opened with
their Helios technology.  And god help us all if it
falls into the hands of someone who has more than
peaceful terraforming on their mind.  I thought red
matter was bad enough.  Maybe I should retire while
there's still an Earth to retire on.

far as I can tell, its sole purpose is to break
things: doors, walls, locks... body parts.

Unknown Hacking Tool      : I quite like this little gadget.  It's designed to
hack into a computer, but theh program it runs is
never the same.  It rewrites itself depending on
the nature of its target.  Makes it devilishly
hard to defend against.  Which is why I don't want
it coming anywhere near the Enterprise.

Unknown Assault Equipment : I very, very much want to take this thing apart
and figure out how it works.  It's the engineer in
me.  I'm also very, very afraid of what will
happen to me if I attempt to do so.  It's the
                           terrified Scot in me.

Atmospheric Calibration Unit : Quick, think of a worse job more than being in
charge of atmospherics on a Starbase.  Time's
up!  Everyone complaining to you every moment
of the day about how hot it is, or how cold it
is, or how little Timmy came down with the
Andorian flu because the humidity in his room
was too high.  Show me an atmospherics officer,
and I'll show you a punishment glutton.

Starbase Command Console     : Second only to atmospherics officer in terms of
                              terminal job dissatisfaction is Starbase
systems administrator.  Nobody will ever know
your name until something goes wrong.  Oh, the
glory.  The wonder.  The unending boredom of
sitting at a monitor watching a completely
self-sufficient Starbase run itself without any
help from you.  Get on a ship, kids.  That's
                              where the fun is.

Commodore's Chair            : I still haven't figured out if the seat makes
the man, or the man makes the seat.  The seat
being a Starbase Commodore's chair, the man
inevitably being a pompous blowhard who has
spent a few too many years off-Earth and now
runs his particular fiefdom like... well, like
a fiefdom.  And it's not just men.  I've met
horrible female Commanders too.  Which leads me

Epidermal Analyzer    : Bones is really the one to ask about this thing.  You
put it under your tongue, I think?  And it tells you
when you're going to die?  Something like that.

Osteogenic Stimulator : One of the few devices that convinces me that medical
progress is not an oxymoron.  Did you know that,
before these things came along, doctors used to just
immobilize broken bones in massive plaster casts?  I
think it was back when they still used money to pay
for things, like massive plaster casts.

Neurocortical Monitor : When I was wee lad I had a persistent headache.
Doctors stuck a Neurocortical Monitor on my neck for a
month.  All the other kids made fun.  Turns out my
headache was just a symptom of growing up surrounded
by a bunch of nasty little Scottish weevils whose
parents raised them without a shred of compassion.
                       Eventually I felt better.

thanks, I just had a heaping bowl of spittle
pods.  Really, I'm stuffed.  Of course I
don't want to eat something called a spittle
                                pod.  Go away.

Walgettian Fire Blossom        : This is how the Earth will die.  Not from a
massive alien invasion.  Not from a homegrown
geological cataclysm.  No, it will end
because some unsuspecting fool will sneak
something like a Walgettian Fire Blossom past
quarantine, and three weeks later the planet
will be one big flowery ball, with no room
left for things like humans.  Mark my
                                thoroughly depressing words.

Flowering Phistella Sporophyte : They really need to start naming new plants
after the first poor redshirt who touched it
and died of whatever fatal disease was hiding
in the leaves.  Instead of "Flowering
Phistella Sporophyte", it should be "Ned's
Where Did My Skin Go Flower".  A touching
tribute to the spirit of discovery, and yet
another reason why I am the last to volunteer
                                for away teams.

Survival Pack Requisition        : Standard issue life support pack carried by
                                  every shuttle.  Contains enough power,
shelter, and supplies for survival on a
hostile planetary surface for six months.
At which point it's time to consider eating
                                  the Redshirts.  I kid.  Mostly.

Remote Comms Package Requisition : Also known as "Message In a Bottle".  Let's
be honest.  If you're stranded somewhere in
a downed shuttle and you're relying on your
remote comms packaeg to call for help,
chances are you're too far away to be found
                                  and rescued before you're seriously
considering eating the remote comms package
just to survive.  Just make sure you wait
until after you eat the Redshirts.  I kid.
                                  Mostly.

Compact Medkit Requisition       : Dr. McCoy and I share an aversion to
joining away teams, for obvious life-
                                  threatening reasons.  Unfortunately for
him, as Chief Medical Officer he's duty-
bound to fulfill his rotation on away teams
among all medical personnel.  He tried to
                                  circumvent protocol by quadrupling the
number of medkits aboard every away
shuttle, hoping that would be enough.
According to Starfleet protocol, it's not.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starbase Power Unit  : As much as I prefer working on a starship to wasting
one's life away on a Starbase, there's one thing about
bases that fills me with burning envy: their power
supply.  They need copious amounts of state-of-the-art
fuel cells, obviously, given that most bases are
stranded out in the middle of nowhere, but I still
dream of packing that much power into the bowels of a
ship.  We'd never have to stop to refuel.  Which means
I would never have to see another Starbase.  Everybody
                      wins.

Starbase Comms Relay : I once heard Starbases compared to islands in a vast
ocean.  Little outposts of civilization in an empty
expanse.  Flickering embers of light representing the
valiant refusal of life to succumb to the void.
Calling out into the abyss, never knowing who might
respond, but never wavering in their duty to stand
against the night.  I have nothing sarcastic to add.  I
                      actually think that's quite lovely.

Starbase Armory Data : One other thing I envy about Starbases: the prompt
response they get from Starfleet Requisitions.  I send
in requests from the flagship of the fleet and it's
treated like a handwritten note from a snot-nosed
ensign asking for a new tricorder.  But if a Starbase
asks?  Watch the bureaucracy trip over itself to make
sure the base doesn't run out of air freshener for the
                      cargo bays.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Weapon Research (1 of 4) : Gorn weaponry is curious indeed.  It's as much
organic and technological in nature, as if it
was grown rather than manufactured.  It's
difficult to tell where the weapon ends and
                               the user begins.

Gorn Weapon Research (2 of 4) : It appears that Gorn weapons can be used by
human hands, but I wouldn't recommend spending
too much time with them.  If they truly are
organic in nature, there's no telling what
effect using them have on a human nervous
system.  Better to stick to Federation-
                               approved armaments, methinks.

Gorn Weapon Research (3 of 4) : These Gorn weapons are truly fearsome
inventions.  I have plenty of faith in
Starfleet's own armory, but at least we put
control measures in place like stun capability
and adjustable phaser strength, so we don't
simply obliterate everything we see at first
glance.  The Gorn have no such self-restraint.

Gorn Weapon Research (4 of 4) : As terrible as these Gorn weapons are, I do
want to retrieve samples for study.  The
question is whether they can get past
quarantine.  It would be simple enough if they
                               were purely technological.  But their
biological component means we have to treat
them more like organisms than simple weapons.

Sentinel Statue  : Always fascinating to see what connects species that have
evolved light years apart.  Just like primitive Earth
cultures, the Lymax have taken to representing themselves -
or their gods, perhaps - through art.

Golem Statue     : I quite like this one.  Given his size he must be quite an
important character in Lymax lore.  Let's call him Goliath.

Companion Statue : For every Goliath, there must be a David.  Having spent the

                                                             Lymax Species
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lymax (1 of 3) : It never ceases to amaze me how similar alien races can
be to our own.  Take the Lymax.  They've developed a
hunter-gatherer culture similar to Earth's early days,
with a basic communal structure that ensures that the
weak and young among them are cared for.  It gives me
hope, in the face of something like the Gorn, that
civilization will always find a way to survive.

The Lymax (2 of 3) : I'm not a fan of the Prime Directive.  It sounds good in
principle, but in reality it too often means standing to
the side watching a less-developed species get run over
by a more advanced race.  The Prime Directive is meant to
save species like the Lymax from outside interference.
What about saving them from extinction?

The Lymax (3 of 3) : I'm an engineer, not a xeno-biologist, but I would love
to show one these Lymaxes... Lymaxians... whatever, I'd
love to show them around the Enterprise.  What must it
look like to them?  To see the ship through the eyes of a
primitive culture is to be reminded of the miracles we
take for granted, the miracles that let us sail across
                    the stars.

Water Cabbage : I'm sure the brainiacs back at Starfleet will end up calling
this something else in their official Big Book of Alien
Plants, but in the meantime I'm sticking with Gorn Water
Cabbage, because 1) we found it on a Gorn planet, 2) it lives
in the water, 3) it smells like cabbage.  My nomenclature
               skills are formidable indeed.

Glowflower    : I was going to call this "Glow Flower" (two words) but
"Glowflower" (one word) just sounds more exotic, don't you
think?  Evocative of faraway planets, the romance of space
exploration.  Same reason it's not called "Star Fleet".

                                                            Native Geology
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crystal Formation : Interesting.  Some kind of natural resource that has power
conducting properties.  These Gorn are brutal bastards,
but maybe not completely mindless.  If we get out of this
alive, it will be worth examining this sample more
                   closely.

Stalactites       : Great, you've found a rock formation.  If you're looking
for an education about the nuances of geology, you've come
                   to the wrong Scot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instruments of Science? (1 of 3) : I very much want to say this is a
scientific tool.  But based on what we've
seen of the Gorn so far, I shudder to think
                                  what it's true purpose is.

Instruments of Science? (2 of 3) : Starfleet optimistically imagines that we
can learn soemthing new and useful from
every species we encounter.  I'm starting
to think the Gorn are the exception to this
                                  rule.

Instruments of Science? (3 of 3) : Bones has some genuinely spine-tingling
                                  instruments (literally and figuratively) at
his disposal in sickbay, but even the good
Doctor would be unnerved by the look of
                                  these Gorn tools.

Instruments of Pain (1 of 2) : These aren't "tools" at all, if by "tool" you
mean something useful.  These are simply
instruments of pain.  I fear for anyone
                              captured by the Gorn.

Instruments of Pain (2 of 2) : A truly grisly object.  I doubt the Gorn even
care whether it causes a prisoner to spill
secrets.  It looks like its sole purpose is to
                              inflict pain.

                                                           Gorn Technology
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Tech (1 of 3) : It's not often that Engineering and Medical need to
consult with each other, but trying to figure out how
these Gorn weapons work is just such an occasion.
They're a curious mix of the mechanical and the organic.
Designed like a machine, but grown like an organism.  And
                    altogether creepy.

Gorn Tech (2 of 3) : The ammunition used by the Gorn weapons is curious
indeed.  As with the semi-organic design of the weapon
itself, the ammunition appears to be generated the way a
body generates new cells.  The blasts are composed of
bio-energy rather than lasers, which makes me wonder if
they can ever run out of ammunition the way our own
                    weapons can.

Gorn Tech (3 of 3) : I don't even know what this is.  A Gorn tricorder?  A
Gorn potato slicer?  Do you have any ideas?  I'd love to
crack it open and see how it works, but I'm afraid I
might trigger some kind of awful booby trap, and I quite
like having all of my fingers attached to my hands.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                           Warp Core Specs
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Warp Core (1 of 3) : Any Chief Engineer who says that they don't spend
every waking moment of their lives thinking about the
warp core is a degenerate liar who should be kicked
out of the fleet.  If the ship is the body, the core
is the heart, and the sole point of the Chief
Engineer's existence is to keep that heart beating.
I'm sorry to get emotional about it, but facts are
                        facts.

The Warp Core (2 of 3) : I've been asked if it doesn't get a bit boring
spending all of my time in Engineering.  We don't
even have windows.  But the fact is, I'm too busy
                        making sure the controlled matter-antimatter
explosions stay controlled, the dilithium crystal
converter assembly stays assembled and converting,
and the warp coils stay coiled and warping.  My job
                        is the opposite of boring.

The Warp Core (3 of 3) : But what about the sound? they say.  "How can you
stand the ever-present hum of the warp core day in
and day out?"  And I ask them if they ever get tired
of the sound of their own breathing.  And they look
puzzled for a second.  And then they walk away.  And
                        I go back to work.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                          Warp Drive Specs
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How Warp Drive Works (1 of 3) : Right.  Warp drive.  Faster-than-light travel.
Where do we start?  How about subspace?
Seeing as how the existence of subspace is the
only reason we can travel FTL anyway.
Subspace is our shortcut, our rabbit hole, the
looking-glass dimension that allows us to
cheat the old rules of space and time.  We
haven't completely figured out how it works,
but we know how to get in and out of it in one
                               piece.  Good enough for me.

How Warp Drive Works (2 of 3) : To enter subspace, and therby travel faster
than light, we need to create something called
a warp bubble around the ship.  A very clever
fellow named Zefram Cochrane was the first one
to do this, and the basics he came up with are
still what we use today.  All you need is a
                               controlled matter-antimatter explosion, some
dilithium crystals, and a warp coil or two.
Congratulations, you just made a warp drive.

How Warp Drive Works (3 of 3) : Warp factor is just a fancy term for the size
of the bubble created by the warp drive.  The
bigger the bubble, the faster you cross
subspace, just like a bigger sail can catch
more wind to cross an ocean.  The good thing
about sails, unlike warp drives, is that when
they malfunction there's no danger of wiping
out the entire crew in a millisecond.  Such
are the benefits of simpler technology.

Sickbay Equipment : Bones would be better to ask about this.  I try to spend
as little time as possible in Sickbay.  I mean, it's right
there in the name.  Sickbay.  Who wants to go to a place
called Sickbay?  Why not call it Healthbay?  The Happy
Room?  The Pain-Free Lounge?  No imagination in Starfleet.

Sickbay Gurney    : The only time I go to Sickbay is to get the latest
innoculation for whatever potential contagion the ship has
picked up at its latest port of call.  They don't warn you
about it at the Academy, but life in space is one annoying
flu shot after another.  Better safe than sorry, and
bleeding glowing green pus from your eyeballs, I suppose.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Metal (1 of 2) : The materials used to build the Gorn ship are
fascinating.  Elements similar to Earth's, but different
enough that I may be able to come up with some
                     interesting uses for them.

Gorn Metal (2 of 2) : Always a shame encountering a new civilization that
would rather eat you than talk to you.  I'd love to swap
knowledge with a Gorn engineer, but I'm afraid it would
be a short and painful conversation.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                              Gorn Species
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Species Research (1 of 3) : Despite their primitive ferocity, it appears
the Gorn have a strict social structure.  At
the bottom are the foot soldiers.  A strict
hierarchy continues up based on superior
strength and intelligence, culminating in the
ruling class that decides where and when the
Gorn will strike next.  That doesn't sound
all that different from Starfleet, come to
                                think of it.

Gorn Species Research (2 of 3) : You can't say the Gorn let anything go to
waste.  They extract the strongest genetic
traits from their conquests and add to their
own physiology, and then they use their
prisoners as a slave army to remake the world
in the Gorn image.  It would be impressive if
                                it wasn't so horrifying.

Gorn Species Research (3 of 3) : It's not just genetic information that the
Gorn take from conquered species.  They
analyze and adopt the technology of each
defeated race, so that with each world they
conquer the Gorn become that much more
                                advanced.  Weapons, tools, engineering,
everything is fair game for the Gorn war
                                machine.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                          Gorn Experiments
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Experiments (1 of 4) : This looks like the Gorn equivalent of transpoter
technology.  They seem to need a physical link
present in order to transport matter.  We're ahead
of them in that, at least.  Let's hope that's not
the only place we have an advantage over these
                           beasties.

Gorn Experiments (2 of 4) : No need to wonder what this slab is for.  The Gorn</pre><pre id="faqspan-5">
tie their prisoners down and go to work on them.
To what end I shudder to think.  It's amazing that
a race so obviously advanced can be so heartlessly
                           cruel.

Gorn Experiments (3 of 4) : Some kind of holding tank.  It looks like there
are various points at which some kind of liquid
can be injected inside, effectively drowning the
                           subject inside.  Lovely.

Gorn Experiments (4 of 4) : From what I can tell, these tanks are used for a
kind of incubation.  The Gorn create a gentic
cocktail based on the species they conquer, taking
the strongest traits and adding them to their own.
It means the Gorn grow more powerful with every
race they overwhelm.  Let's hope humanity stays
                           off the list.

                                                  Gorn Advanced Technology
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorn Advanced Tech (1 of 2) : Why did I get assigned "explain how the Gorn
works" duty?  I'm the Chief Engineer, not the
Chief Science Officer!  But since the Chief
Science Officer is currently running for his
life alongside the Captain, everyone says "Oh,
give all the science-y talk to Mr. Scott to take
care of!  Because Engineering is science and
Scotty is the Chief Engineer!  Let's ignore the
hundred other junior science officers that can
do it!"  This is the sound of the Chief Engineer
                             sighing.

Gorn Advanced Tech (2 of 2) : What I've learned about the Gorn Mothership:
                             it's alive.  It's more than a just a vehicle.
It's an organic environment that changes and
adapts to the conditions inside it.  It acts
like a kind of networked intelligence that
connects all the individual Gorn to a central
consciousness.  It attacks invaders like an
immune system attacking illness.  Which does not
bode well for any non-Gorn visitors.
