Welcome to the remake of Space Quest 1 for the PC, an adventure game released
by Sierra in 1991 in the Space Quest Collection set.
The walkthrough for this game is complete and includes a point list. By
following the walkthrough you will also get all points in the game. If you
spot any errors or have suggestions please feel free to e-mail me about it.

You control Wilco with the mouse. Cycle through the commands with the right
mouse button or use the menu at the top of the screen that auto-hides.
F1 = Menu

The number in the ()s is the amount of points you get during the game and the
amount you should have at this point if you followed the walkthrough. The
points are listed again in the point list for a quick overview.
There are serious timing errors in this game if you are playing on a modern PC
so try using an emulator such as DosBox, play on an older PC (486) or better
yet find the unofficial SCI fixes that will sort out most problems. If non of
the above are an option for you it might make the game unplayable from the
start.
Whenever a message pops up saying "you hear footsteps" you generally need to
leave the screen or enter an elevator very quickly or be discovered by guards.
You have 15 minutes to leave the ship before it explodes. When you start go
right two screens and left one. A scientist will enter so talk to him to get
the correct cartridge name (2, 2). Sit on the computer and use it. Input the
correct code for that cartridge name found in your manual and pick up the
cartridge (5, 7). Go left two screens search the man for a keycard (1, 8). Go
back on screen and ride the elevator, then enter the doorway. Take the widget
in the middle (1, 9) and go back out. Go right two screens and into the yellow
and black elevator that will take you down. Go right another screen and hide
Wilco in the dark gap after the first two monitors at the top. If done
correctly the guards will come but not see you. Go east and push the button at
the console to open the bay doors (2, 11). Insert the keycard in the slot next
to the elevator (2. 13) and ride it. In this room, open the slot to get a
translator gadget (2, 15) and open the door nearby to take the suit (2, 17).
Push the button at the doors to get to the escape pod. Enter it and fasten the
seatbelt. The controls above your head has three buttons, click on the right
one for power and then the joystick in the middle to escape the Arcada (15,
32). Now use the controls and push the left button for the auto pilot to take
you to Kerona (2, 34).

Note that if you spend too much time in this desert area you will die of
thirst.
Unfasten your seatbelt and get out. Grab the survival kit from the wreckage (2,
36) and the shard of glass that flew of from your windscreen (3, 39). Go left
then down and pick up a sticky plant on the way (2, 41). Go down one more
screen and left two and you should arrive at a bone skeleton you can walk up
on. Do so and cross the cracks that look like they could collapse at any
moment so be careful not to walk across this bit too often. You should only do
so twice following this walkthrough. Continue on this path, noticing the
android spider that's come to seek you. At the end of the path you'll fall
down into a secret cave (2, 43). Take the tip of the stalagmite and continue
onwards. When you get close to the grate, use the sticky plant on it to get by
(5, 48). On the next screen simply place the rock onto the geyser and the
barrier will open (4, 52). Then use the shard of glass on the laser beams to
break it (5, 57). Walk up the screen and avoid the dripping acid (3, 60).
Switch on the translator gadget and get to the end of the path. After the
conversation with the hologram you'll be back outside. Go DOWN and left twice
to avoid the spider and finally up a screen. Open the survival kit and go
inside the skull cave. Throw the water onto Orat (5, 65) and pick up the part
it left behind (2, 67). Go back outside and down. Follow the skeleton path to
the cracks but wait at the large bone piece for the spider to come along. When
it is just underneath you, push the bone onto the spider to kill it (5, 72).
Follow the rest of the path to the cave and get through it like before. Drop
the Orat piece when the hologram asks you to and Wilco will walk through the
doorway. After the alien has left, use the cartridge on the monitor (5, 77)
and write down the code! Get in the skimmer to drive off (10, 87). You can
either skip the mini-game or play it. If you chose to play it, avoid all the
obstacles in the way. You can allow yourself to be hit three times, after
that you are history. You'll soon arrive at Ulence Flats (25, 112).
Note: You can also lure the spider into the cave and hide behind a rock so the
spider and Orat kill eat other (10 points, 5 for each kill). I recommend the
normal method, however.
___Ulence Flats___
------------
After you arrive a man will want to buy your skimmer for $25. Say 'No Way',
take the keys and enter the bar. Exit straight away and wait for the man to
return. He'll offer $30 and a jetpack. Accept his offer (5, 117) and enter the
bar once more. Sit at the bar and order three beers, after which you'll
overhear a conversation (5, 122). Write down the location they mention. Get
up and use the widget on the arcade machine (5, 127) This way you'll always
win big when playing. After a few rounds the machine will explode but you have
enough cash already. Leave the bar, go up one screen and left into the Toys
'B' Us store. When the preview screen has the NAV-201 droid, pay the
shopkeeper and you'll pick it up next door (4, 131). Go left one screen and
down to get noticed by the seller. Go back up to the ships and when pay him
after you have looked at the upper one (4, 135). Get in to fly off (25, 160).
After take-off you'll be asked for the code to the destination you overheard
earlier. Check your manual and enter it accordingly. Soon you'll arrive at the
sector with the Deltaur.

Say 'No' to the droid question and use the button near the airlock to get
inside (1, 161). Wait near the door for a cleaning robot to come in and exit
when you have the chance. Now either open the trunk with your tools to get
transported or move the trunk and open the air vent with your tools. If you
chose the air vent, climb up one screen and open the air vent here to get out.
Either way you'll end up in the washroom (3, 164). Open the washing machine
and take the helmet (5, 169). After a short scene, take the ID card (2, 171)
and exit the room. Go up the only elevator you can and turn left. Ride the
elevator up and go east all the way. Show the ID card to the droid and when it
has gone, open the bar door to take the grenade (1, 172), close the door and
wait for the droid to come back. He'll hand you a rifle (1, 173). Go out and
drop the grenade onto the huge guard at the bottom (5, 178). Go left until you
lose your helmet. From now on you must be careful as the guard will shoot at
you. They are not that great and don't kill you in an instant, so shoot back
at them for a quick kill. Down the elevator should be your first guard to
shoot (3, 181). Go right all the way and search the guard for a remote
control (3, 184). Use the remote control to de-active the force field (3, 187).
Walk up to the generator and input the code you wrote down earlier (10, 197).
You now have 5 minutes to get out. Go left and down the elevator, shoot the
guard at the other one and ride it down too (1, 198). Get into the escape pod
to fly off (3, 201). Watch the ending, enjoy!
