I am Samcan. I am widening my experience in writing FAQs for of different
computers and consoles. It’s a pity that some games such as this go without
a guide for years to come. I hope you find the game guide information in
this FAQ good to digest and aid you in your gameplay. If there's anything I
missed feel free to bring it up in the Board of this game. Constructive
criticism, complements and commentary are welcome. Nuf said, let's begin
the FAQ.
2.) Information
2.A - TIPS:
* Although there is no stamina indicator, the player character will get tired
after too much sprinting and jumping.
* The action button can only be used when the action indicator shows. Doors
cannot be opened. Use it to pick up weapons, plant bombs, climb ladders or
activate mechanisms.
* Enemies will be on guard. They are alerted by gun fire from a few yards, by
one of them being shot, by nearby running or by being in their line of sight.
* Go in crouching and prone positions to reduce the likeliness of being seen by
enemies.
* Sniper-points are ideal places to fire on enemies with lesser chance of being
notice and to hit multiple targets. Those places are indicated on your map.
* When using the sniper rifle, pay careful attention to the wind and pulse
indicators so that your shots don't miss. Even a slight breeze or fast pulse
can cause a bullet to miss by a few inches from the intended target. Zooming in
can also increase your accuracy.
* In sniper mode, you can hold breath for a few moments (pulse indicator shows
how long) to make shooting a moving target easier.
* Headshots kill enemies much quicker.
* Reload often so that you don't find yourself doing so in the middle of a
fight.
* When enemies fire at you, there is a warning arrow to show where enemy fire
is coming from. Familiarise yourself with enemy positions to avoid being
ambushed.
* The screen reddens when enemies hit you. The player will self-heal in safe
areas.
* Occasionally enemies will throw a grenade at you. When the grenade indicator
is on, either run to safe distance and take cover behind a solid object.
* Try to make every shot count. Ammunition is pretty scarce in the game.
* When the player character warns about the presence of a sniper, tread
carefully. A sniper can hit harder at long range than a machinegunner.
* Your score at the end of a mission is determined by accurate shots and how
much time was taken.
2.B - GLITCHES:
* Too much quicksaving can make the game crash.
* Loading from a quicksave that made the game crash will make the game crash
again.
* In mission 3, the part where the soldiers in the trenches need to be
eliminated can disappear in a quicksave making the mission unwinnable.
* In mission 6, the player can be hit by enemy fire round corners and obstacles.
* In mission 8, the cutscene where the agent is supposed to blow up the wall
can render it so the wall never blows up making the mission unwinnable.
* There are a number of spots where you can get stuck and can't get out no
matter how many times you run, jump, crouch and prone.
* Occasionally in the Recruit difficulty, red dots that indicate enemies will
stay on screen and follow you on the minimap.
2.C - DIFFICULTY MODES:
* Recruit - Enemies show as red dots on the minimap, Sniper scope shows a
target indicator for easier shooting.
* Veteren - Enemy presence is not indicated, Sniper scope shows only wind
direction.
2.D - WEAPONS
NOTE: The player starts off with one kind of sniper rifle, a pistol and a
knife. Other weapons can be collected from the bodies of enemies. Only one
model of weapon type can be in your possession at a time. Also MP40 ammo does
not collect; player has to switch to another MP40 when empty.
- Move to the sniper-point indicated on the minimap
- Snipe the German soldier
- Infiltrate the German camp and then escape along with the load on the truck
Follow the path up to the sniper-point. You'll see a guard. If you're familiar
with sniper mechanics, you should have no difficulty taking him out.
Go to gate by the shed and turn to the direction of a window where you see an
enemy inside the house. There is another enemy out in the grass to the north
and yet another by a guardhouse.
When you get to the broken bridge, you will see a sniper appear on the high
ledge to the left. He's tricky to take out because he stays prone a lot.
After crossing the bridge there will be two soldiers walking next to the
houses. Wait for them to go some way, so you have time to take out one out
followed by the other making a run for it.
Up the hill slope, find one guard in the barracks next to the tank and another
in the barracks opposite. Get into the back of the truck to end the mission.
MISSION 2 - Escape
- Get past the abandoned factory through the southern gate
- Clear a path to get close to the departing transport
Outside the truck there will be two soldiers and a sniper in a tower. Use the
truck for cover. When all three enemies are dealt with, the way is clear.
Once past the crates, three more enemies will be patrolling the grounds to the
west, one of them behind the crates.
By the train is another tower with a sniper and a patrolling soldier. Both can
be taken at a sniper-point if desired.
Past the gate, go up the nearest slope. When you get to the sniper-point, pay
carefuly attention to the positions of four enemies, especially the sniper in
the tower.
After clearing out the enemies, climb the ladders to the guard tower. Take out
as many enemies in the vicinity as you can spot. Keep in mind some nearer ones
will fire back at you.
You don't need to go around the whole railyard and take out every enemy, but it
increases the kill count.
When you're done, head northeast and jump into the open train car.
MISSION 3 - Allies
- Find the explosives
- Blow up the ack-ack guns
- Eliminate the Germans in the trenches
- Find our contact
Head towards the train engine. Around it you will see a single guard. Another
one is by the guardhouse adjacent to the gate. A third one is between two
buildings to the south.
Beyond the gate is a house with an open door. Grab the three bundles of
explosives and see the agent for hints.
Round the hill is a guard in a guardhouse. As the agent said there are two
enemies on the bridge, one a machinegunner and the other a sniper.
If you go up the hill near this side of the bridge you can see two guards
together and one by the wooden shed. There is another guard on the east of the
hill you're standing on and another down in the valley below.
After making sure your way is clear, cross the bridge and approach a tunnel.
Kill the guard by the guardhouse, but don't go beyond it unless you want to
find yourself ambushed.
Instead take the route by the shed and climb up a gap in the slopes to locate
and kill the enemy sniper. There is also a single guard in the concrete bunker
to the south. You may have to wait for him to show to get a clear shot.
If you move further east by the shed, you should find another gap that leads to
a fire, where a lone guard is watching.
At the other side of the slopes are sandbag walls guarded by two enemies. This
where you find the ack ack (Anti air) guns which you need to plant explosives
then run to safe distance.
When you get your next objective, carefully proceed east. Find a good spot to
shoot the three guards in the moat and two more by the concrete huts. When all
enemies are dead, manuever past the trenches to the waiting truck.
MISSION 4 - Transport
- Provide cover for the convoy
- Move to another shooting position
- Eliminate enemy reinforcements
To the west of the roof snipe any incoming enemies on the streets to protect
the convoy.
Once the convoy is through, go to the inside room, descend down the holes,
leave the building and circle around the building anti-clockwise. Shoot a
sniper in a ruined white-grey building with exposed columns.
Continue inside a dimly lit grey building with rusty stairs. At the wooden
planks you should be able to snipe some more enemies on the streets. At the
other end of the building, kill a sniper in a wrecked building to the west.
Descend and go out the other exit of the building and continue to traverse
around the ruins until you're able to kill off any remaining enemies on the
street.
Climb up the ladder of a high building where you can continue to cover the
convoy. Keep an eye out for enemies shooting from building windows.
When all the enemies are down, get down from roof and go around the building.
As the trucks get into position, a number of enemies will come out from all
sides. Use the interior of the buildings for cover. The mission ends when every
last enemy in this street is killed.
MISSION 5 - Assignment
- Kill these two Germans. Shoot in order to explosions silenced gun shots
- Occupy shooting position in fountain square
- Wait in concealment to arrival of general
- Kill the General. Shoot in order to explosions silenced gun shots
- Retreat around factory
Kill the two enemies outside the window on the square below. As the
grammatically incorrect objective says, shoot in one in time to the loud
explosions so the other won't hear the first being killed.
Climb down the ladder and walk round the twisting streets going southwards and
taking out two patrolling enemies.
Round the west corner come two more enemies. Use the brick piles for cover.
Around another corner going south and two more guards engaged in converstaion.
Once you shoot one, you'll alert the other and a sniper.
The sniper is standing on the top floor of an east building underneath some
iron girders. The other guard will crawl in the grass for cover, making it a
more difficult target. If necessary, use a grenade to remove him.
Around one more corner, you'll see an open door into a factory where two guards
lie in wait and another behind a column.
Out the other end of the factory, there is a sniper in an open ruined building
to the north.
Finally when you reach the fountain, don't shoot any guards in the big square
or you will fail the mission. Get into the fountain and wait until the general
arrives in his staff car.
When he arrives wait until explosions sound before, you kill him so other
enemies don't notice. If you do alert the enemy, you'll have a lot of
machinegunners to deal with and tanks to avoid. The only safe place from enemy
forces is the fountain. My advice, run back the way you came as fast as you
can. When you reach the factory, your mission ends.
MISSION 6 - Playing hide-and-seek
- Provide cover for the engineers
- Find and eliminate the German sniper
Follow the truck. Pay attention to any enemies you see during the cutscenes.
You don't have to use the sniper point to take out the heavy machinegunners but
it helps.
Climb the ladder of the building where the heavy machinegunners were. From the
top snipe all soldiers so that an anti-tank Soviet can destroy the tank. Try to
stay out of the tank's firing range as a single shell spells an instant kill
for you.
Make your way to the northwest street where some Soviets are awaiting your
assistance. Snipe all riflemen and machinegunners until the engineers are
through. After the first round of enemies have been killed, another round of
them will come.
When all enemies are killed, you can finally tackle the sniper in the upper
left corner of a dirty grey building right across the square. Eliminate any
remaining any enemies to finish the mission.
MISSION 7 - Landing
- Follow your companion
- Steal the truck
- Escape the tanks
- Get out of the ravine
Follow the agent. After a cutscene, carefully shooting the bundle of explosives
at the top rock.
Kill every last soldier at the truck so you can reach it. Use your surroundings
from protect you from gunfire and move to a better position if an enemy is out
of your firing range. Your agent won't be much help, so you'll have to do the
hard work.
After the cutscene, follow your agent, running as fast as possible. Try not to
get caught in the tank shell blasts.
Once you're in a safe position, put a bullet on the fuel container of each
tank. They are difficult to spot, but they look like greyish-white boxes on the
left side of the tanks.
Don't try to backtrack the way you came, because the tank there is
indestructible and its aim on you will always be true. Instead continue on in
the ravine.
Be very careful of hidden snipers, who perch on cliffs. Stay hidden until you
know where they are before you make your shot. Try to get as close as you can
so you can see them properly.
When you reach an ememy camp, eliminate a few guard. Optionally you can rescue
a fellow prisoner. If he follows you, a sniper will emerge from the cliff
above. Now head through the gap in the ravine to complete the mission.
MISSION 8 - Gunrush
- Get near the truck
- Clear out the fort
- Find the radio
- Jump on the truck
As you approach the ruined fort take out the snipers on the SW and NE towers.
Use the northern crawlspace to take out a couple of guards in the courtyard. In
the east entrance you can take out some more enemies on the building roofs.
Once you enter the fort, you have five minutes to find the switch and pull it.
The stairs to the switch are either side of the west entrance.
After meeting the agent at the truck, position yourself on top of the south
fort tower. Take out all the guards at the wall of the second fort and two
snipers in both towers. You can also take out other enemies from this spot if
you're so inclined.
After the agent blows up the fort wall, you're ready to attack it. Use the
sniper-points if necessary. When you'll killed all guards on the ground and
rooftops, you've got a radio to find in the east building. After using it, get
into the truck and you can sit back and watch the ending.
