::: What is Shogo:Mobile Armor Division? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Just in case you don't have Shogo, and are just reading this to find out more:
Shogo is a fast paced first-person shooter. It was released in late 1998,and it's
one of my favorite games. It is heaviliy influenced by japanese anime. You can
play as human, various mecha and there are lots of weapons.Read www.shogo-mad.com
and www.planetshogo.com for more information on this game.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
**** Mecha's ***************************************************************
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Basically a mecha is a 50 foot tall robot with a pilot in it.
Shogo allows you to choose between 4 MCA's.The Ordog, the Enforcer, the Akuma,
and the Predator. Here is a more detailed description of each robot.

[source:www.Shogo-Mad.com]

Ordog:The Ordog is a highly refined piece of engineering.
With its sleek design and solid compromise between speed and toughness,
it makes a formidable adversary to just about any opponent.
While its vehicle mode has a faster maximum speed than the UCA Enforcer,
it doesn't handle quite as well.
(MY COMMENTS:The Tiger of the MCA's.It looks good, has no EXTREME weaknesses,
in other words:this is my favorite MCA.I play it like the Akuma, but because it has more
armor, which allows you to do more agressive attacks.)

Enforcer:The Enforcer is a hardy, well-rounded MCA that balances responsive movement
with strong armor.Ideal for pilots who want a machine that is reliable in any situation.
(MY COMMENTS:The Lion of the MCA's.This thing is basically a slower ordog with a bit
more armor.)

Akuma:The Akuma is a light, fast, highly maneuverable MCA designed for situations in
which subtlety and speed are more important than durability. An excellent choice for
pilots who prefer to run from trouble than dive headlong into it.
(MY COMMENTS:The Cheetah of the MCA's.This thing is like a dragster. It is very fast,
but also very fragile. It allows you to get weapons faster, and run from opponents
faster. However, when you face a opponent like me you will be gone in 2 hits anyway:D.)

Predator:Andra's ultimate MCA is perfectly suited to combat missions.Combining tough
armor with an intimidating design, the Predator is an incomparable war machine.
Unfortunately, strength comes at the cost of speed and versatility.
(MY COMMENTS:The Elephant of the MCA's.This thing is a bitch(pardon my french :D).
Surely it can outlast 2 more blasts or something, but it is slow and big. Those
are 2 things that don't mix well in multiplayer.

**** Weapons ****************************************************************
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Now it is time to discuss the weapons.I will explain then both from the user and opponent
perspectives.

-Human Weapons
Tanto: This is a samurai's knife.Does about 90 health of damage.2 slashes at someone
with full health, and they are gone. This weapon is elite. You can do swordfights
with others or use it when you're out of ammo.Nothing is more humiliating than
being knifed to death particularly when one doesn’t even knows it.Some weapons
are weaker than the knife so don’t be too upset if your opponent knifed you to
death while you were shooting him.
Pistols:The weapon you start with when you spawn. Also a last resort weapon.Does about
15-20 damage per shot.Keep aiming at their head and they will fall soon.
Learn to be extremely aggressive with these guns and you can take out enemies
hunting you when you spawn. However, when you see a diffrent weapon, grab it fast.
Shotgun:The firepower of this thing is 100 to 20,depending on distance.Simply put,
don’t get close because that’s simply an unnecessary risk.If however you do,
make some fancy moves to dodge the shots. Most players can kill a shotgun user
easily because of its horrible rate of fire.If you are using this, stay as close
to the opponent as possible for some easy 1-shot wonders.
Machine Gun:Keep a distance between the machine gun user and yourself. The closer he is,
the bigger the threat he can be.The reload time is also something to consider
but be careful since he can sprint away for cover or even worse, get a better weapon.
If you are using this weapon, stay as close to the opponent as possible while dodging
all his shots, and keep aiming for the head.
Assault Rifle:People who enjoy circle strafing will find this weapon very much at home.
The accuracy dishes out a nice stream of damage. To use this weapon to it's
full potential, aim for the head while keeping a good distance between your
target and your opponent. The distance will prevent your enemy to return fire
with shotguns and energy grenades, and TOW's.Strafe around to find your target
and to gain a advantage when they are not aware. Also you can ZOOM IN by pressing 5
       again.
Energy Grenade:This is a weapon that shoots a blue energy ball in a arc.Being bombed by
a energy grenade is bad,but without armor the chances of survival are very slim.
Simply put, watch out for flying blue balls. They explode and fly too fast for
any warning and it's blast radius is quite wide.
Kato Grenade:This weapon shoots yellow energy balls that bounce around the map
and explode in 4 seconds or on impact with an enemy.Shoot it into any high-traffic
area or where strafing is hard.Campers also hate this thing as it can send them
running when it’s being shot at them.
T.O.W:  Tube Launched,Optically Tracked,Wire Guided (TOW) Missile Weapon System.This
is a very powerful rocket launcher. It kills all targets in 1 hit. When someone
is at 200 health and 200 armor they are fatally wounded. But what did you expect?
In real life this is a anti-tank weapon :D!! I like to use it like a Quake 3 instagib
railgun. When you see someone walking, just calculate where they will be in 2 seconds,
       shoot that location,and BOOOOOOM:they are gone.Because this is a exploding weapon,you
can also shoot the floor or the enemy's foot. When someone walks into the fire it
causes enough exponential damage to toast them. :)
Squeaky Toy:In singleplayer it was used to retrieve a cat.In multiplayer, when you
shoot someone with it a few times it makes them cry (no joke!),and while they are
crying (about 4 seconds),they are unable to shoot.

-MCA weapons
Mono Knife:This is the melee weapon of the Ordog. It does about 700 damage per hit.Make
sure to slash at the head. When someone challenges you to a swordfight,
adjust your style to the power of your opponent's weapon. This weapon will kill a unit
in 1 hit if they have less than 700 health.

Energy Blade:This is the melee weapon of the Enforcer. It does about 800 damage per hit.Make
sure to slash at the head. When someone challenges you to a swordfight,
adjust your style to the power of your opponent's weapon. This weapon will kill a unit
in 1 hit if they have less than 800 health.

Katana:This is the melee weapon of the Akuma. It does about 1000 damage per hit.
Make sure to slash at the head. When someone challenges you to a swordfight,
adjust your style to the power of your opponent's weapon. This weapon will kill a NON
wounded unit in 1 hit when you aim at the head.

Energy Baton:This is the melee weapon of the Predator. It does about 600 damage per hit.
Make sure to slash at the head. When someone challenges you to a swordfight,
adjust your style to the power of your opponent's weapon. This weapon will kill a unit
in 1 hit if they have less than 600 health.

Pulse Rifle:The weapon you start with when you freshly spawn in your MCA.It has decent
reload speed and clip size.Unfortunately,it’s inaccurate, slow, weak and has poor stopping
power compared to the other weapons.Due to its extreme weakness, most players dump
this rifle right away for something more powerful. It’s large clip is more forgiving
when it comes to shooting down a single threat although being too trigger happy
could empty the gun and see the target narrowly escaping death. The pretty slow
projectile makes this gun unusable beyond medium range.

Laser Cannon:The name explains itself.A gun that shoots a big red lasers that melt stuff
and leave marks in walls. For those who don't like to move much but like to shoot those
at a distance, this is the weapon. It is a so called "vector weapon",this means the laser
has no travel distance. It already reaches the target when you shoot, like all the bullet
weapons. If your aim is good, you can pin targets down, flush targets out of hiding,
provide support fire from a distance and basically wreak havoc to a team of assaulters
from a distance.

Spider:This cannon shoots so-called "Spider"-grenades.These are spider-shaped mines.
When you shoot one,it flies in a straight line, attaches itself to whatever surface it
hits, and detonates in 4 seconds after it's launch. If you hit an opponent with one
of these, they can't remove it,and they die.The damage of the explosion is exponential.
The longer you stay in the blast and the more you are standing in the middle of it,the
higher the damage will be.Example:If you are tagged by a spider, you will most likely
die, because you are in the middle of the blast. If you "touch" the outer-edge of a explosion
of a spider that detonated on the floor, you will probably survive. When shooting these,
calculate the travel time and the speed of your opponent so both collide.Use your instinct.
This weapon allows for surgical strikes.

Bullgut:This is my favorite weapon. It shoots 4 missiles at once, and each seperate
missile does 250 points of damage! Not to mention the fact you can just shoot the floor,
a guy walks into the blast and they die.I reccomend to use this weapon in confined
quarters only, like madskillz or maritropa. In "outside" maps like "Entrance",the missiles
spread out too much when you're shooting a distant target, and also they are too slow.
This weapon was not meant to be a sniper rifle for MCA's.

Sniper Rifle:This weapon is notoriously known to be noisy and extremely
inaccurate in full-auto(unless you can aim like me :D).This a FULLY AUTOMATIC sniper
rifle that can swiss cheese anything in it's path! When you press 6 again after selecting it,
you are able to zoom in.Zoomed in shots do about 700 damage, whereas unzoomed shots
do about 100 damage per hit.If you are a sniper, use stealth to your advantage by moving
quickly from one area to another making use of hit and run tactics. When zoomed:this weapon
is deadly at a distance and when the target is not moving. When you are being sniped by
someone:Move often to prevent headshots while attempt to move in close with an assault
weapon like the Shredder.Be especially careful after a firefight because if you have less
than 700 health a zoomed in shot will most likely kill you.

Juggernaut:This weapon is similar to the laser cannon, except it shoots shells that detonate
on impact. If your opponent is very jumpy, shoot where he will land. With this weapon you can kill
someone in 2 hits, maybe 1.It Depends on his health.

Shredder:Basically an automatic Juggernaut that does about 100 damage less than the
juggernaut. The most used automatic weapon in Shogo. It’s the most controllable weapon
thus making it a keeper when you find one,or run out of bullgut ammo :).This weapon is
good at any range.

Red Riot:The most powerful weapon in the game.Point, shoot, and watch your score rise.
However, riotters are the scum of the Earth.Backstabbers, lamers, weak minded followers
of a greater evil, and, for the most part, cowardly dogs who cannot defend themselves
by any other means.

**** Controls ****************************************************************
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The first thing you need to do if you want to improve yourself is to configure
your controls to be effective and to the point. You will need a mouse with at least
3 buttons. Here is my personal control-setup,use it as an example.

Mouse:Intellimouse Explorer (5 buttons,optical)
Left button:Attack.
Right Button:Double Jump.
Middle Button:Vehicle Mode.
Big Thumb button:Tractor Beam
Small Thumb Button:Next Weapon.

Keyboard
LEFT ARROW:Strafe to the left.
RIGHT ARROW:Strafe to the right.
UP ARROW:Walk Forward.
DOWN ARROR:Walk Backwards.
Right CTRL:Duck.
END:180-degree turnabout.

This concludes version 1 of my faq.I will explain more advanced strategies in later versions.
