Arr, me hearties, our miserable squib of a hero, Guybrush Threepwood, be back
for another dose of adventure on the high seas after defeating the villainous
rapscallion Ghost Pirate LeChuck in The Secret of Monkey Island. But be he any
braver, smarter or stronger than before? Nay, he's still the same cowardly
pox-ridden lubber as always, so ye still be screwed. Trapped on Scabb Island,
Guybrush be living high off the tales of his defeat of LeChuck, but no Pirate
worth his salt be believing his yarns, and so, Guybrush be avowed to perform a
deed greater than any deed done before! We be so screwed.

                                   -----

The second in a series of four Monkey Island games, Monkey Island II:
LeChuck's Revenge is quite probably the greatest Point-and-Click Adventure
ever made, not to mention one of the best games in general of all time.
Continuing on from The Secret of Monkey Island, this sequel takes the Monkey
Island series to even greater heights, but sadly, was also the last Monkey
Island game that Ron Gilbert worked on

Listen up you mangy lot, this bit is important. You are free to use this FAQ
for personal reference but if you plagiarize any sections, well... I'll have to
come up with something evil to do to you...

The only place allowed to host this FAQ is:

GameFAQS - http://www.gamefaqs.com

If you see it anywhere else, please contact me at: [email protected]

You can also contact me with any questions that pertain to Monkey Island II:
LeChuck's Revenge that AREN'T answered in this FAQ, or any corrections to
mistakes I've made (this does not include typographical errors; I'm not THAT
anal retentive about my work).

Also, do not bother to email me and ask whether you can host this FAQ on your
site, the answer is no. GameFAQs is the only place I particularly feel like
trusting, while sites that have to go soliciting for FAQs strike me as
desperate to get a reputation even a tenth of that GameFAQs has. So don't
bother, I won't even reply to your emails.

Guybrush Threepwood:
So the snivelling little gutterswipe be back, and he be jes' as useless as
ever. Questin' to find the treasure of Big Whoop, he also be lookin' fer
the lovely Elaine Marley, who disappeared from his life some time past.

Elaine Marley:
Having tossed Guybrush's affection to the high seas, she be relocated from
Mêlée Island, and now the lovely wench be Governor of Booty Island, a
title befitting her, arr! She can govern me booty any time!

Largo LaGrande:
Arr, this runt be a mean-spirited cur, no mistake! Once the right-hand man
o' LeChuck, Largo be living it up on Scabb Island, running the place and
putting fear into every lubber thar.

Voodoo Lady:
She be a creepy one, that she is, but her dark magicks be useful, if not a
bit on the flashy side! But by the beard on me chin, I wouldn't mind a
quick fumble below decks with her, thar be plenty to hold onto!

Wally:
He be shorter n' the mast in me pants (though that not be sayin' much) n'
just as mild-mannered, arr, but the shrimp be a useful li'l blighter,
since he be a caterpillar... catfish... castrato... mapmaker. Aye, that he
   be, a mapmaker.

Zombie Pirate LeChuck:
When he be resurrected, he be burnin' with anger fer Guybrush, wantin' a
   grisly vengeance 'pon him!

Salesman Stan:
With a mouth as fast as a pirate ship, Stan be as slippery as a sea
serpent, but jes' mayhaps ye can pin the weasley stoat down and not be
bested by him in a deal!

Herman Toothrot:
Yarr, this wily old stoat still be alive, teachin' his own peculiar
philosophy to any that be willing t'learn. Which be less than the number
of notches on Guybrush's hammock pole!

First, here's a table with the control shortcuts on, they'll make your life a
lot easier whilst traversing the world in The Secret of Monkey Island:

\======================================================/
 |                      Controls                      |
/======================================================\
| G | Give         | P | Pick Up      | U | Use          |
| O | Open         | L | Look At      | S | Push (Shove) |
| C | Close        | T | Talk To      | Y | Pull (Yank)  |
\======================================================/

Secondly, when you're talking to someone, you can several different possible
responses on screen at a time; pressing a number on your keyboard will
automatically say the one that corresponds to the numbered position.

Thirdly, this walkthrough goes through the game by a natural progression, that
is, I solve each puzzle as I get to it, rather than having you take or do
stuff way before you ever need to.

When you take control of Guybrush, spend some sweet time examining the Riches
in his possession, before walking across the bridge, and promptly getting it
all stolen by Largo LaGrande. Bugger. Once that's over and done with, head
back to the right and leave the town of Woodtick. On the Scabb Island map, go
to the Swamp on the east side and Use the Coffin to get in it. Row it along to
the right and underneath the Skull to enter the International House of Mojo!

Move to the right and talk to the Voodoo Lady, keep using the second response
to get info about Largo and how to create the Voodoo Doll needed to place a
curse upon him. We need something of the Thread (an item of Largo's clothing),
something of the Head (one of Largo's hairs), something of the Body (some of
Largo's bodily fluids) and something of the Dead (a part of one of Largo's
dead ancestors). So, let's get cracking on the shopping list!

| Pearly-White Bra     | Nice April-fresh scent!    |
\=================================================/

Return to Woodtick and Walk To the Ship at the top-left, the one with three
figures sat by it; this is Mad Marty's Laundrette. Try to Pick Up the Bucket
and one of the Men of Low Moral Fiber (Pirates) with try to stop you; ask if
it's their bucket and you'll get it. Return to the Swamp, and Use the Bucket
with the Swamp, before returning to Woodtick once more.

Walk to the Ship at the far left, Woodtick's only Inn. Talk To the Innkeeper
and he'll tell you their one roomk is full; Look At the Guest Registry and
you'll see that it's taken by Largo LaGrande. If we're after some of Largo's
clothes, getting into his room seems like a good idea, so try to Walk To the
door on the left, and the Innkeeper will stop you. Seems like we need to
distract him...

Leave the Inn and Walk To the Ship at the bottom of the screen, the one with
the Sign; this is the Bloody Lip Bar and Grill. Don't enter it via the hatch,
instead going by the bottom-left window. After getting back to his feet, try
to Talk To the Cook, but he won't be distracted from his job. Pick Up the
Knife on the table and leave by the window again. Head back to the Inn and
Look At the Alligator. Use the Knife on the Rope binding it to the pole,
giving little ol' Pegbiter the chance to escape, which it promptly does so. I
guess it wanted something more tangible to eat ^^

With the Innkeeper chasing after Pegbiter, Open the Door to Largo's room and
enter, Closing the Door behind you. Note that it doesn't close properly; Use
the Bucket o' Mud with the Door and then Walk To the Dressing Screen on the
left side of the room. Guybrush hears Largo coming, and we all know what's
going to happen next!

When Largo flees, leave the Inn and go to Mad Marty's, where we'll see Largo
berating the man himself, and then telling Guybrush to make it clear. Not that
we'll bother. Return to the Inn and go into Largo's room once more. Close the
Door again, and Pick Up the Laundry Claim Ticket that's revealed. Back at Mad
Marty's, Give him the Laundry Claim Ticket and we get the first of the Voodoo
Doll ingredients, the Pearly-White... Bra!?

This one's easy enough; Walk To the Inn and into Largo's Room and Pick Up the

making the Items table for this section than I did in writing the actual
section. XD

Walk To the Bloody Lip, and this time enter by the Hatch. Talk To the
Barkeeper and ask him how the business is doing. After he mentions that he
wishes he could make the one thing that'd help the island, a Voodoo Doll to
rid them of Largo, and speak of the devil, the man himself enters! After
getting a drink, Largo gobs a great big one at the wall and then takes all of
the Barkeepers earnings and leaves.

Score, we've found some of Largo's bodily fluids! Go over to the wall and Pick
Up the Spit Dripping Down Wall, but Guybrush is too wussy to do it. Looks like
we'll need something to pick it up with.

Leave the Bloody Lip and Walk To the Ship just above the bar; this is Wally
the Cartographer's place. Pick Up the Pile of Paper below Wally's desk, and
then return to the Bar. Use the Paper on the Spit Dripping Down Wall, to get
the third of the four ingredients!

\=============================================================/

So, we need to get a part of one of Largo's dead ancestors next. Well,
logically, they'll be buried somewhere, so we're gonna need to get something
to dig with! Walk To the entrance of Woodtick and Pick Up the Sign; Guybrush
will tear the Shovel off it. Next we need to actually find a grave of one of
Largo's ancestors.

Leave Woodtick and go to the Cemetary on the south-east corner of the island.
Walk To the Graves at the top of the hill and Look At the Tombstones until you
find the one for Marco Largo LaGrande. Use the Shovel on the Grave in front of
it to get the Bone.

| Pins                 | Sharp.                                         |

Now that we have all four items needed to make the Voodoo Doll, let's head
back to the International House of Mojo in the Swamp. Talk To the Voodoo Lady
and mention the Voodoo Doll, and then pick the options for each item. Once
you've given them all to her, she'll perform the sacred rites needed to make
the Voodoo Doll ("Two! Four! Six! Eight! Who do we assassinate? Largo, Largo,
yeah!").

Armed and dangerous, head back to Woodtick and Walk To the Inn, entering
Largo's room. Use the Pins on the Voodoo Doll and cause some serious pain to
the stooge Largo. Shame though y'know, the whole giving Largo a chance to
re-animate LeChuck, the most feared pirate in the Caribbean, thing. Wee bit of
a cock-up there.

| Big Whoop: Unclaimed | Big Whoop: Unclaimed Bonanza or Myth? It says here  |
| Bonanza or Myth?     | there were four pirates: Rapp Scallion (the cook),  |
|                      | Young Lindy (the cabin boy), Mister Rogers (the     |
|                      | first mate) and Captain Marley. They buried their   |
|                      | treasure along with plenty of booby traps on a      |
|                      | place believed to be called Inky Island. They made  |
|                      | a map which they divided into four pieces, each man |
|                      | taking one. Rapp Scallion later opened the Steamin' |
|                      | Weenie Hut on Scabb Island. It was a huge success   |
|                      | but fell into disrepair after Rapp was killed in a  |
|                      | flash fire. Young Lindy drifted aimlessly, down on  |
|                      | his luck until he mysteriously came into money      |
|                      | while panhandling on Booty Island. He used the cash |
|                      | to bankroll an advertising firm which failed after  |
|                      | its gross mishandling of the Gangrene 'n' Honey     |
|                      | account. Mister Rogers retired off the coast of     |
|                      | Phatt Island. He marketed homemade contest grog     |
|                      | brewed in a bathtub until his recent disappearance. |
|                      | Captain Marley vanished while sailing in the        |
|                      | America's Cup Race. His boat was leading at the     |

|----------------------|-----------------------------------------------------|
| Monocle              | Everything looks all blurry.                        |
\==========================================================================/

After the discussion with the Voodoo Lady finishes, Look At Big Whoop:
Unclaimed Bonanza or Myth for some info, and then leave the Swamp. Go to the
only place on the island map we haven't yet visited, the Peninsula in the
south-west. Look At the Sign, and it says "Captain Dread's Ship Charters: 20
Pieces of Eight." Well, since Largo spent all of our money, we need to find
some other way of getting the cash needed together.

Head to Woodtick and Walk To the Bloody Lip, but don't go inside just yet. To
the right of the large sign is a smaller one; Look At it and it says that
there's a job going with a weeks salary in advance. Go in and Talk To the
Barkeeper; after he takes the credit for chasing out Largo LaGrande, ask him
about the job and he'll inform you that the position has been filled. Maybe we
should vacate it then, don't you think? But just how do we do that? I have a
cunning plan...

Go to the International House of Mojo and Pick Up the String dangling from the
Skull, and then go to the Beach. Pick Up the Stick by the trees and then
return to Woodtick; Walk To the Inn and Look At the Bowl to find it's full of
Cheese Squiggles. Pick Up some and then go to Mad Marty's.

Open the Box, Use the Stick on the Box, Use the String on the Stick and then
Use the Cheese Squiggles on the Box. We now have ourselves a makeshift rat
trap! Walk To the end of the String and wait for the Rat to start nibbling on
the Cheese Squiggles before you Pick Up the String, thus shutting the Rat
inside the Box. Open the Box and Pick Up the Trapped, Cowering Rat.

Walk To the Bloody Lip, but enter via the Window. The Cook still won't talk to
you as he peels potatoes. Y'know, I'd feel kinda bad about we're gonna do to
him in a moment if he'd at least converse with us, but no, he's all uppity,
making this even more fun! Use the Captured Rat with the Vichyssoise and then
exit vby the Window again. Go down the Hatch and Talk To the Barkeeper; ask
him about the stew...

Looks like we've just landed ourselves a job with 420 Pieces of Eight salary
in advance! Now, let's get cracking in the kitchen... NOT. Leave by the window
and head for Captain Dread's. Walk To the Houseboat and Talk To Captain Dread.
Ask about chartering a ship and he says he can't unless he gets his lucky
charm back; inquire about the charm and he tells you a story that sounds
almost familiar...

Leave Captain Dread's and head back to Woodtick and enter Wally's place. Lurk
by the table and hit P to select Pick Up; when Wally puts his Monocle down,
snatch it up and do a runner. Return to Captain Dread and Give him the
Monocle, and we're all set to leave Scabb Island!

After the cutscene finishes, Pick Up the Parrot Chow and then Walk To the
Door. When Dread asks about the destination, inquire about the choices; he'll
give you a map, and you can pick one of the three islands upon it. We'll start
by going back to Scabb Island. Leave Woodtick and Walk To the Beach. Go to the
Weenie Hut and Open the Door, to find it's locked. Go back to Dread's Ship and
sail to Phatt Island. Despite Guybrush's best attempts, he's arrested and
brought before the Governor of the island, who quite calmly informs him that
LeChuck has place a bounty upon our hero's head.

We take back control of Guybrush inside the Phatt Island jail cell, obviously
needing to get out of there before LeChuck arrives to exact his terrible
revenge upon us. Pick Up the Rock Hard Mattress and Pick Up the Stick that's
revealed. Use the Stick on the loose Bone and then Pick Up the Bone. Give the
Bone to Walt and then Pick Up the Small Key he drops. Use it in the Cell Door
and then Pick Up the Manila Envelope and the Gorilla Envelope. Open them both
to get your personal effects back, and those of Mr. Willy Gorilla; a Banana
and an Organ. Leave the Jail and Look At Guybrush's Wanted Poster; it
automatically updates itself with whatever new crimes you commit, so you can
check back on it for laughs. XD

Leave the Wharf and head to the Mansion near the south coast; Open the Gate
and Walk To the Mansion before entering. Talk To the guard and tell him he's
confused and then shout the traditional line at him. "Look behind you, a
three-headed monkey!" After he leaves, head up the Stairs and Use Big Whoop:
Unclaimed Bonanza or Myth with the Book on Phatt's belly, to get Famous Pirate
Quotations. Look At it and you'll spot one of the quotes is by Rapp Scallion
himself!

Go back to Dread's Ship and sail to Booty Island. Enter the building to your
left and Pick Up the Well-Polished Old Saw in the barrel, buying it for 25
Pieces of Eight. Sail to Scabb Island and head to Mad Marty's; Use the Well-
Polished Old Saw on the Peg Leg (currently attached to one of the Men of Low
Moral Fiber) and then make a run for it. Go to the only building in Woodtick
you've not yet visited, the Woodsmith's hut, and Pick Up the Hammer and the
Nails.

Sail to Booty Island once more and Walk To the right and enter Stan's
Previously Owned Coffins. Ask him to about a good used coffin and he'll hop
into one; Close the Coffin and he'll hand you a Clean, White Hanky before
closing the Coffin again. Use the Nails on the Coffin to shut him in there.
Use the Bell for a laugh, and then Use the Hammer on the Cash Register. Aww,
it's empty. Oh well, Pick Up the Crypt Key as recompense and exit.

On Scabb Island, Walk To the Cemetary and Use the Crypt Key on the Crypt to
open it up, and then enter. Look At the Coffins to find the one bearing a
quote that matches up with the one in the book and Open it. Pick Up the Ashes
and head to the International House of Mojo next. Look At the Jars until
you've checked them all, then Pick Up the Ash-2-Life. Say you want some when
the Voodoo Lady tells you about it, and you'll hand her the Ashes, but she's
forgotten the recipe!

Head to Phatt Island and enter the Library; Look At the Card Catalog, go to
the PQR draw and look up  Recipes, Voodoo, remembering the Joy of Hex. Talk To
the Librarian and say that you're looking for a book. When she asks if you
have a Library Card, say no and ask how to get one. Fill in the details
however you want to and you'll get the Temporary Library Card. Tell her you
want The Joy of Hex and she'll fetch it for you.

Return to the International House of Mojo and talk to the Voodoo Lady, tell
her you have a book of recipes and she'll give you the Ash-2-Life. Go back to
Rapp's Coffin, and Use the Ash-2-Life on his Ashes. Talk To Rapp until he
mentions he thinks he left the gas on at the Weenie Roast; offer to check and
he'll hand you the Key. Walk To the Beach, Use the Key on the Door and enter;
Use the Knob to turn off the Gas and then return to Rapp, telling him he was
right. He'll give you his Map Piece, leaving three more to go!

Sail to Booty Island and enter the Shop; Pick Up the Map Piece and the Antique
Dealer will offer it to you for 6 million Pieces of Eight, which you quite
clearly can't afford. Talk To him and ask him whether he accepts Visa, and
then about the trade-ins he accepts. He'll tell you that he'll trade you the
Map Piece for the figurehead of the Mad Monkey, which sunk somewhere.

Head to the Library on Phatt Island and Look At the Card Catalog again. Check
the CD section and look up Disaster; remember Great Shipwrecks of Our Century.
Give The Joy of Hex to the Librarian and Talk To her, asking if she has Great
Shipwrecks of Our Century; she'll fetch it for you. Look At it and note down
the grid reference it tells you the Mad Monkey sank at.

Aboard Dread's Ship, click upon the grid reference on the map and he'll come
out with some excuse why he can't sail there. Return to Booty Island and Talk
To the Woman in Big Hat in front of Stan's Previously Owned Coffins; introduce
yourself and then ask about chartering her ship. It costs 6,000 Pieces of
Eight, which we're well short of. Guess we need to raise some more capital.

Walk To the Path to the right and Talk To the Spitmaster. After you fail
miserably at the Spitting Contest, try once more, but you still just can't get
it to go far enough. Sail to Scabb Island and Walk To the Bloody Lip, entering
via the Hatch.

..Oh whoops, did you just get fired? Oh well. Talk to the Barkeeper and ask
for a drink; he'll mention that Captain Kate Capsize bought all of his Near-
Grog. When he asks for ID, show him the Temporary Library Card and he'll
accept it. Order both Yellow Beard's Baby and a Blue Whale, and then Use the
Yellow Drink on the Blue Drink to make the Green Drink. Use the Crazy Straw on
your new concoction, and Guybrush comments that it makes his spit really
thick. Interesting.

Sail back to Booty Island, walk to the Spitting Contest, have some more of
the Green Drink and then talk to the Spitmaster. Wait until the scarf on the
woman's belt billows on the wind and then fire away! What, second place?! Man,
how are we gonna snatch first?

Go to the Antiques Shop and Pick Up the Ship's Horn, buying it for 40 Pieces
of Eight. Outside the shop, blow the Ship's Horn and the Old Man fires the
cannon, thinking it's the Mail Boat arriving. The Spitmaster comes along and
checks it out before returning. This gives me an idea...

Walk to the Spitting Contest and Use the Ship's Horn again. The Spitmaster
will walk off screen to check once more and the crowd turns away; Pick Up any
of the Flags and Guybrush will quickly switch them around. Once the Spitmaster
returns, take another sip of the Green Drink and then Walk To the Fault Line.
Mix up your commands and then wait until the wind is blowing before launching
your phlegm to take first place, winning the Spit Plaque! Uh... wait, we just
did all of that for this!? Well, maybe we can hawk it to the Antique's Dealer
for some cash; Give it to him and tell him that it's worth a mint, not just
any spit, and that it's the spit of the pirate who killed LeChuck. Score!
He'll take it off your hands for 6,000 Pieces of Eight.

Talk To Captain Kate again and stump up the cash to charter her ship. Tell her
you're ready to go and click on the grid reference for the Mad Monkey's wreck.
When you arrive, dive into the water and sink to the bottom. Pick Up the
Monkey Head and then Pick Up the Anchor to get back up to Kate's ship. On
Booty Island once more, go to the Antiques Shop and Give the Monkey Head to
the Antiques Dealer to get the second Map Piece. We're half way there!

Time to gatecrash us a party! Leave the Ville de la Booty and Walk To the
Mansion. You'll be stopped along the way at the Guard Kiosk, and informed you
need both an invitation to the party and a costume to get past. And Guybrush's
outfit doesn't count. Well, there was a Costume Shop in the Ville de la Booty,
so let's head there; Talk To the Shopkeeper and inquire about getting a
costume, but all of his have been booked out. Bugger.

Sail to Phatt Island and Walk To the first Alley. Watch the guy win and note
that the Dealer says one of the prizes is an invite to Governor Marley's Mardi
Gras party! We need to win that pretty badly, so Talk To the Dealer and make a
bet; pick one of the five numbers and promptly lose. You can keep playing, but
you'll lose every time. Instead, follow the fellow in the green hat into the
second Alley. He knocks on the door as Guybrush ducks into a corner and, after
giving a password, the figure behind the door tells him the next number.
Follow him again, back to the first Alley, and he'll win once more. Seems like
he's onto something here!

Walk To the second Alley and Open the Door; you have to guess the password
three times in a row. Now, you can do it by luck, but there is a pattern to
it. First he'll show you one hand pattern and say that it's one number, and
then shows you a second pattern, asking you what it is. The answer is always
the number of fingers he showed the first time around, a closed fist being
one. Get it right three times and then tell him whatever you want, and he'll
give you the next number. Head back to the first Alley and place a bet on the
number you were just given to win; pick the Invitation as your prize!

Back on Booty Island, enter the Costume Shop and Give the Invitation to the
Shopkeeper to pick up your costume... oh dear lord. Walk To the Guard Kiosk
and verify you both items to the guard, who makes you put your costume on.
..Nice calves there Guybrush. Walk To the Mansion and enter. I spy, with my
little eye, something beginning with Map Piece! Snatch it off the wall and
we've got just one left to go! Wow, this was pretty easy. Leave the Mansion
and all hell breaks loose... she named her dog Guybrush!? Ouch, cold.

After you meet up with Elaine again, you can either charm her, insult her, or
get straight to the point and ask for the Map Piece; I prefer trying to woo
her back, since it's funnier when Guybrush puts his foot in it, causing Elaine
to throw it out of the window, it landing in the yard outside. Chase after it
and the wind will send it flying to the Cliff on the south coast of the
island. Head there and Walk To the Cliff Side; the Map Piece is stuck on a
branch quite a way down. Either we go down there, or we need to snatch it up
with something, maybe a Fishing Pole. Hint hint.

Make your way to Phatt Island and Walk To the Fisherman on the pier. Talk To
him and insult away until he offers to make a bet with you; if you catch a
bigger fish than him, he'll give you his Fishing Pole. Of course, we don't
actually have anything to fish with, but I'm sure we can get around that.

Return to Governor Marley's Mansion and Walk To the Side of House. Look At the
Sign and it says to not knock the garbage cans about, so Push the Garbage Can,
and once the chef comes out with his cleaver, run to the front of the house
and he'll chase after you. Run to the back again and this time into the
Kitchen. Swipe one of the fish and go back out, this time returning to the
Fisherman on Phatt Island. Give the Fish to him and he'll concede defeat,
handing you the Fishing Pole.

Head to the Cliff on Booty Island and Walk To the Cliff Edge. Use the Fishing
Pole with the Map and Guybrush will start reeling it in, only for that damn
seagull from the first game to snatch it up and fly to the Big Tree. Go there
and you'll notice lots of Holes in the tree and a Plank. Looks like we need
something else to put in the Holes so we can climb the tree. Return to the
Governor's Mansion and go upstairs. Pick Up the Oar and exit; Guybrush (the
dog) will start barking again, but Filbert ain't around so you can make good
your escape.

Back at the Big Tree, step onto the large root by the Plank, and then Walk To
the Plank. Use the Oar with the Hole next to it and then Walk To the Oar,
which promptly snaps and sends Guybrush headfirst into the Plank. After his
thoroughly bizarre near-death experience, Look At the Spit Encrusted Paper to
find it has the song lyrics written down upon it. Creepy! Pick Up the Broken
Oar; guess we need to get this fixed.

Go to the Woodsmith's Hut in Woodtick, and Give him the Broken Oar, which
he'll fix up as the Reinforced Oar.  Return to the Big Tree and repeat the
process you used last time. When upon the Reinforced Oar, Pick Up the Plank
and Use it in the next Hole, and keep doing so until Guybrush gets the idea
and gets to the top by himself. Enter the first hut to find the seagull that
stole the map sat atop a giant pile of maps. Aw hell. How do we dig out just
one map from all of those? Go to the Governor's Mansion and Pick Up the Dog
and then at the Big Tree, Use the Dog on the Pile to get the third Map Piece
again. One left to go!

Remembering that the Big Whoops book mentioned Mister Rogers retired off the
coast of Phatt Island, that's out next destination. After sailing there, leave
the Wharf and try to Walk To the Cottage on the island to the west. You can't
reach it that way, but instead go to the Waterfall by where you should now be
standing. Walk To the Path at the top of it to find a Pump; try to Push or
Pull it, but you can't manage to move it. Hmm...

Go to the Bloody Lip on Scabb Island and look at Jojo. A bad pun comes to
mind... Use the Banana on the Metronome to transfix Jojo and then pick him up.
Hey, he's got a monkey in his pants! Ew! Return to the Waterfall on Phatt
Island and Use Jojo on the Pump. Don't say I didn't warn you XD With the
Waterfall now stopped, Walk To the Newly Discovered Gaping Hole and make your
way through the tunnel. Out the other side, Walk To the Cottage and Open the
Door. Go through the options while talking to Rum Rogers Jr. and eventually
you'll end up in a drinking contest. Wait around until he returns with both
drinks and you'll come to by the tunnel entrance. Looks like we can't beat him
fairly... Well, we could switch it for some Near-Grog when his back is turned,
we just need to lay our hands on some first! Remember the Barkeeper mentioning
Kate had it all?

Make your way back to the mainland and head to Booty Island. Talk to Captain
Kate about the near-grog, but she won't let you have any. How can we get it
from her? Ask her for one of her leaflets and Look At it. I have a cunning
plan!

Sail for Phatt Island and Use the Leaflet on Guybrush's Wanted Poster, and
then get back on Dread's Ship. After the ensuing scene where Kate is arrested,
return and enter the Jail. Use the Small Key on the Cell Door to free her, and
she exits quickly to find whoever framed her. *ahem* Anyway, Pick Up the
Vanilla Envelope and Open it to get a Bottle o' Near-Grog. Leave the Jail and
Pick Up the Leaflet again (so you can resume reading your Wanted Poster), and
then return to Rum Rogers Jr.'s Cottage.

Wait for him to give you your drink and then go off to fetch his, and then Use
the Mug o' Grog with the Tree, and then Use the Bottle o' Near-Grog with the
Empty Grog Mug. Try to Open the Trap Door, but it won't give. Look At the
Brick in the wall and then Push it. As you fall, note the skeleton in the tub
holding the Map Piece! Looks like we need to somehow turn that Butt Slide.

Ride the waves to Booty Island and enter the Antiques Shop; Pick Up the Sign</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
and buy it for 5 Pieces of Eight. Use the Parrot Chow on the Hook that held
the Sign up, and the Parrot will waddle over to look at it. Pick Up the Mirror
and buy it for 15 Pieces of Eight and then sail to Booty Island. Climb the Big
Tree and Pick Up the Telescope before returning to Rum Roger's Cottage. Enter
it and Use the Mirror in the Mirror Frame before exiting. Open the Window to
the left and then Use the Telescope on the Grotesque Statue. A light will
shine through the telescope, through the window, reflect on the mirror and end
on one brick in particular. Enter the Cottage and Push the correct Brick and
when you fall through the Trap Door, the Butt Slide will send you down the
other side. Pick Up the last Map Piece and we're done!0

Of course, we need someone to put the map together, and even then, it doesn't
tell us WHERE the damn island is, so it looks like we need some expert help.
Sail to Scabb Island and go to Wally's place; Give him a Map Piece, but he
won't take it, saying he can't see without his Monocle. And since we can't
actually talk to Captain Dread anymore, beyond destinations for him to sail
to, we need to get a replacement somewhere.

Go to Phatt Island and Walk To the Library. Open the Model Lighthouse and
Pick Up the Model Lighthouse Lens, before trying to Close it. Oops. Return to
Wally's place, Give him the Model Lighthouse Lens, and then Give him all four
Map Pieces. He'll send you out on an errand to the Swamp; go there and Talk To
the Voodoo Lady. She'll give you the Juju Bag and then tell you that something
has just happened to Wally. As you leave the Swamp, make note of the Crate; it
wasn't there a moment ago...

Back at Wally's, Guybrush finds him gone, and reads the message scratched into
the table. Return to the Swamp and Look At the Crate. Apparently it's
delivering various voodoo supplies to LeChuck, so Open it and climb inside, to
finish the second part of Monkey Island II: LeChuck's Revenge!

After being delivered to LeChuck's Fortress and getting out of the Crate, Open
the Juju bag to find the Matches and the Love Bomb. When you're ready, Walk To
the Passage at the top of the stairs. Go to the Passage to the right (not the
Back Passage... ew) and Walk To the Jail Cell, to find Wally hanging from the
ceiling. Go through all the conversation options with him and he'll give you
some useful information; the Big Whoop treasure map was of a place called
Dinky Island, and the key to the cell should be down the hall somewhere.

Leave him be for now and return to the passage room. Take one of the Back
Passages, and check the Spit Encrusted Paper for the song lyrics from the
dream sequence. It should be something like the following for each verse:

The HEAD bone is connected to the RIB bone.
The RIB bone is connected to the LEG bone.
The LEG bone is connected to the HIP bone.

What you need to do is match up the Ugly Bone Thing on the wall to the verses,
Pushing the one that's correct and passing through the opening. Ignore the
fourth bone mentioned in each verse, they're irrelevant. You only need to go
through four Ugly Bone Things to reach the Huge Door. Open it and Walk To the
Doggie Door that pops open. Pick Up the Voodoo Key to Jail and wham! You fell
right into LeChuck's trap! Largo's plan actually worked!

After he explains the rather elaborate way of killing you he has devised,
LeChucks leaves, giving you opportunity to escape. Use the Crazy Straw on the
Green Drink to replace your commands with various synonyms for spit. Spit at
the Pan below you, and then twice at the Shield to your right to blow out the
candle. With the cover of darkness, Guybrush and Wally manage to get out of
their chains. No idea how, they just do. After LeChuck returns to find them
gone, the scene returns to our two *ahem*heroes*ahem* who are still in
complete darkness. Use the Matches (if you don't have them, Open the Juju Bag)
and they'll discover they're in the armoury, packed to the rafters with
dynamite. Oh dear...

want to, he doesn't really have anything important to say, but asking him
about the Treasure of Big Whoop sets up for a good joke later.

Walk To the Jungle and then take the left path. Follow it to the end and Use
the Broken Bottle on the Bag, and then Pick Up the Box that drops. Use the
Glass o' Distilled Water on the Box to make two more Crackers. Return to where
you entered and take the right path this time. Pick Up the Rope and then Use
the Crowbar on the Chest to open it up. Pick Up the Dynamite and then return
to the beach. Give all three Crackers to the Parrot, noting down the direction
it says each time. You should come out with:

» East of the pond to the big dinosaur
» North of the dinosaur to the pile of rocks
» Due east of the rocks to the X

Walk To the Jungle again and head to the right. Walk East twice, North Twice,
and then East once more and you should arrive at a giant X. After the brief
scene, Use the Shovel on the Big X, and when you hit cement, Use the Matches
on the Dynamite and then Use the Lit Dynamite on the Hole in the Ground.

After the explosion and short scene, Use the Crowbar on the Rope to make the
Crownbar 'n' Rope. Ingenious name. Use the Crowbar 'n' Rope on the Twisted
Metal Rods to swing Indiana Jones style to the chest, promptly getting
Guybrush into the predicament he began the game in...

Caught up to real time, we find Guybrush in complete and utter darkness. Hit U
for Use and move the cursor about until you find the Light Switch.

Oh nutbunnies.

After the Empire of the Jedi spoof, and all of the, y'know, voodoo torture,
you end up in one of the random rooms in the tunnel. The following is a small
map of it:
          _______                                   /==================\
         |       |                                 | A | Start          |

|   A   |-|   B   |-|   C   |-|   D   |-|   E   |   | J | Mêlée Island?! |
|_______| |_______| |_______| |_______| |_______|    \==================/

Let's run through the important rooms:

A = Start
There's a Ticket lying in the pieces of the Smashed-Up Treasure Chest.
Could this be the fabled Treasure of Big Whoop? Interesting...

B = Passageway #1
There's a Call Button you can Push to open the Elevator doors, and a
Plaque reading "Service elevator. 1000 pounds limit."

F = Elevator
There's a large Crate inside, with a Sticker on it saying "900 pounds",
and a Lever on the left side which operates the elevator.

G = Storeroom #1
This room contains a Helium Tank and a Broken Grog Machine that looks
   eerily reminiscent.

H = Storeroom #2
This room contains four Boxes, one containing a Balloon, one containing
a Generic Voodoo Kewpie Doll, and the other two both have Root Beer in.

I = First Aid
This room contains the remains of Guybrush's parents, a Trash Can with two
Surgical Gloves inside, and a Drawer containing a Hypodermic syringe.

J = Mêlée Island?!
Remember that Alleyway in Mêlée Village from the first game? It seems to
   be where this is...

Let's start by heading to the second Storeroom (Room H). Open all four of the
Boxes and then Pick Up the items inside, to get a Balloon, a Generic Voodoo
Kewpie Doll and a bottle of Root Beer. Use the Generic Voodoo Kewpie Doll with
the Juju bag to start construction of our own voodoo doll. Our next port of
call is the First Aid room (Room I). Look at either Skeleton and then Pick Up
Dad's Remains to get the Skull. Use that with the Juju bag to get the first of
the ingredients needed. Open the Trash Can to the right and Pick Up the
Surgical Gloves, then open the Drawer in the Desk and Pick up the Hypodermic
Syringe.

Head to the first Storeroom (Room G) and Use the Balloon and both Surgical
Gloves on the Helium Tank to inflate them. Go to Room B and Use the Call
Button to bring down the lift. Step inside, and when LeChuck shows up, Use the
Lever, bringing the doors closed upon LeChuck's beard, and then taking you up,
tearing said beard, or some of it at least, off. Pick Up the Crispy Beard Bits
and Use them with the Juju bag to get the second of the four ingredients we
need.

Go back down and this time go into the first Storeroom. Use the Coin Return of
the Broken Grog Machine, and then wait until LeChuck arrives. When he does,
he'll see the coin and go to pick it up, turning his back to you. Pick Up his
Underwear (yes, while he's wearing them - talk about an atomic wedgie!) and
after you get warped again, Use the Underwear with the Juju bag to be left
with only one ingredient to get.

Go wherever you want to on the map, excepting J, and F if it's at the top, and
wait for LeChuck to arrive. Give him the Clean, White Hanky and he'll blow his
undead nose with it before returning it. After being warped, Use the Used
Hanky with the Juju bag to get the Generic Voodoo Kewpie Doll... but uh, this
time it actually does something!

When next you see LeChuck, Use the Hypodermic Syringe on the Generic Voodoo
Kewpie Doll and he'll run off. Go to Room C and Guybrush will finally finish
off LeChuck!

Watch the thoroughly bizarre ending and be confused. Just like Guybrush.

                   <     [07) Easy-Mode Walkthrough      >
                     \ =============================== /

First, here's a table with the control shortcuts on, they'll make your life a
lot easier whilst traversing the world in The Secret of Monkey Island:

\======================================================/
 |                      Controls                      |
/======================================================\
| G | Give         | P | Pick Up      | U | Use          |
| O | Open         | L | Look At      | S | Push (Shove) |
| C | Close        | T | Talk To      | Y | Pull (Yank)  |
\======================================================/

Secondly, when you're talking to someone, you can several different possible
responses on screen at a time; pressing a number on your keyboard will
automatically say the one that corresponds to the numbered position.

Thirdly, unlike with the Hard-Mode Walkthrough, I'm not going to follow a
natural progression with this one. As soon as you can get stuff, I'll tell you
to get them, solving many of the puzzles before you even actually encounter
them.

Fourthly, there will be no item tables for each section, since I'm not
splitting each part up (as they're way too short to bother doing that), and
the tables would end up being gigantic.

<--[07a] Part I: The Largo Embargo------------------------------>

Start off by walking over the bridge; once Largo has finished mugging you, go
back to where you came into Woodtick and Pick Up the sign to get the shovel.
Enter the first building, the Woodsmith's Hut, and Pick Up the Hammer and the
Nails. Leave and Walk To Wally's Cartography Ship, the second building along
the top; Pick Up the Pile of Paper and then go to the Bloody Lip, the ship on
the south edge, and Talk To the Barkeeper. Ask him how business is and he'll
talk a bit about Largo, who promptly comes in, spits on the wall, takes all
the Barkeeper's money and then leaves. Use the Piece of Paper on the Spit
Running Down Wall to get the Spit Encrusted Paper. Talk To the Barkeeper
again, and ask about the stew; he'll offer you a job so accept it, receiving
420 Pieces of Eight in advance salary.

Inside the kitchen, Pick Up the Knife and then leave via the Window. Walk To
the Inn, the ship on the far left, and Use the Knife on the Rope. When the
clerk leaves, go into the room to the left. Pick Up the Clean, White Shirt and
the Toupee.

Leave Woodtick and Walk To the Cemetary at the south-east corner of the
island. Walk To the Graves on top of the hill, and Look At each Tombstone
until you find the one belonging to Marco Largo LaGrande. Use the Shovel on
the Grave before it to get the Bone.

Go to the Swamp and use the Coffin, rowing to the Shack at the far right. Walk
To the right and Talk To the Voodoo Lady; ask her how business is and then
keep asking about Largo until she gives you the list of ingredients for the
Voodoo Doll. Talk To her again and give her all four ingredients you've
collected, and after the rites, she gives you the Voodoo Doll and the Pins.

Go back to Largo's room in the Woodtick Inn and Use the Pins on the Voodoo
Doll to chase him out of town.

Leave Woodtick and Walk To the Peninsula and into the Houseboat. Talk To
Captain Dread about chartering a ship and we're at the end of the first part
already!

<--[07b] Part II: Four Map Pieces------------------------------->

Enter the cabin and set sail for Phatt Island. After you take control back of
Guybrush, Pick Up the Rock Hard Mattress, Pick Up the Stick it reveals, Use
the Stick on the Bone to your left, Pick Up the Bone and Give it to Walt. Pick
Up the Small Key, Use it in the Cell Door, Pick Up the Manila Envelope and
Open it to get all of your items back. Leave the Jail and Walk To the Alley;
Talk To the Dealer and bet on whichever number you want to, you'll win
regardless. Pick the Invitation as your prize and then leave the Wharf. Walk
To the Waterfall and enter the Newly Discovered Gaping Hole. Walk through the
passageway and then enter the Cottage. Open the Trap Door and pick up the
third map piece.

Sail to Booty Island and Go into the Antiques Shop to the left and Pick Up the
Map Piece and buy it for 100 Gold.

Leave the Antiques Shop and enter the Costume Shop; Give the Invitation to the
Shopkeeper and then Pick Up the Dress. Leave the shop and Walk To the Path to
the left, leaving the Ville de la Booty. Walk To the Small Structure on the
bridge; show the Guard both your Invitation and your chest... uh, I mean, put
on your dress, and continue on to the Mansion. Enter and Pick Up the Map Piece
before leaving. The dog smells it on you and you get taken up to see the
Governor, Elaine. After she throws it out of the window, leave the Mansion and
Pick Up the Map Piece again.

Go back to the Ville de la Booty and enter Stan's Previously Used Coffins,
asking him about a cheap casket; once he gets in one, Close the Coffin and Use
the Nails on it to shut him in. Pick up the Crypt Key and return to the
Cemetary on Scabb Island. Use the Crypt Key on the Crypt to open it up and
then Enter. Look at the Coffins until you find the one belonging to Rapp
Scallion, Open it and Look At it; Pick Up the Map Piece you see inside.

Go into Woodtick and visit Wally; Give him a Map Piece and then when he asks
you to, leave Woodtick and go to the Swamp. Talk to the Voodoo Lady about the
love potion Wally wanted, and then Open the Juju Bag. Leave the shack, and
when you get to the shore, Open the Crate and Use it to end the second part
of the game.

<--[07c] Part III: LeChuck's Fortress--------------------------->

Walk To the Passageway at the top of the stairs, and then walk to one of the
Back Passages. Head straight through it and you'll arrive at a Huge Door; Open
it and go through the Doggie Door that opens. Try to Pick Up the Voodoo Key to
Jail and you'll be captured.

Once you regain control of Guybrush, Talk To Wally and ask if he has any
ideas. After escaping, Use the Matches (if you don't have them, Open the Juju
Bag) to blow LeChuck's Fortress skyhigh.

<--[07d] Part IV: Dinky Island---------------------------------->

Pick Up the Crowbar and then Open the Barrel to get Three crackers. Give them
all to the parrot, and it'll give you three directions in return:

» East of the pond to the big dinosaur
» North of the dinosaur to the pile of rocks
» Due east of the rocks to the X

Walk To the Jungle and head to the right. Pick up the Rope and Use the Crowbar
on the Chest to open it up. Pick Up the Dynamite and then head East twice,
North twice, and then East once more to reach a Giant X. Use the Shovel on the
Big X and then Use the Matches on the Dynamite before using the Lit Dynamite
on the Hole in the Ground.

After the scene with Elaine, Use the Crowbar on the Rope, and then use the
Crowbar 'n' Rope on the Twisted Metal Rods, to swing over to the Chest.

This is the only section of the game that is exactly like that in the Hard-
Mode. And so, I'm going to just copy and paste what I put last time. XD

Caught up to real time, we find Guybrush in complete and utter darkness. Hit U

                     \ =============================== /

==Q. What are all the crimes that can be listed upon Guybrush's Wanted Poster
outside the jail on Phatt Island?========================================

A. I think the following is all of it, but I couldn't swear to that:

  WANTED: GUYBRUSH THREEPWOOD...

...for the murder of G.P. LeChuck...
...also for the use of witchcraft on the person of Largo LaGrande...
...the thievery of clothing and medically prescribed hair supplements for
     such witchcraft...
  ...graverobbing...
  ...trespassing...
  ...larceny without a permit...
  ...disturbing the peace...
...illegal gambling on a sporting event...
...use of falsified identification for the purchase of alcohol...
...exceeding allowable FDA limit for rodent parts in vichyssoise...
...premature entombment of a non-dead individual...
...reckless tampering with city-maintained plumbing without prior
acquisition of an environmental impact report...
...transportation of animals not in a mental state to give consent...
  ...vandalizing a historical miniature...
  ...reckless use of gardening tools...
...impersonating a woman in order to evade prosecution...
...two counts of unauthorized exiting from a penal institution...
  ...impersonating a federal mail boat...
  ...reanimating dead persons within city-limits...
...possession of library books not specifically checked out to oneself...
...mixing drinks without a liquor licence...
...and releasing a dangerous reptile in a populated area.

Also wanted for questioning regarding the disappearance of prescription
  eyewear.

==Q. Just what the hell is the answer to the Koan that Herman Toothrot asks?==

A. It's blindingly obvious of course. It's "All Colors." You just need to go
through enough of the answers to get to it, which takes a few minutes.

==Q. Does the Credits Sequence ever end?======================================

A. Nope, it just loops round.

==Q. Can you actually kill Guybrush this time around?=========================

A. Sort of; when you're hanging over the acid pit in LeChuck's Fortress, if
you leave it long enough, both Guybrush and Wally are lowered into the acid
and die. But since the game is being narrated by Guybrush as he's telling a
story to Elaine, that obviously doesn't happen, and you get another chance
  to escape the trap.

You can also "try" to drown him when you dive into the Ocean to retrieve
the figurehead of the Mad Monkey. If you Pick Up the Monkey Head and wait
for ten minutes, Guybrush will drop it and swim to the surface as fast as
  he can.

==Q. Is there any other way of completing the game than defeating LeChuck on
    Dinky Island?============================================================

A. Press Alt + W and press Y when asked if you want to win; it'll take you
straight to the credits. Though, I guess I wouldn't really call that
completing the game. Also, many people report it as being Ctrl + Shift + W
to get the prompt, so my Alt + W might just be because of the version I
  tested this on.

==Q. Is it true that if you don't Open the Juju Bag before escaping the acid
pit trap, that you can't continue the game?==============================

A. No. Not for my version of Monkey Island II: LeChuck's Revenge at least.
It's possible that may happen in earlier versions of the game; an old
version I had of The Secret of Monkey Island had a point where you could
get stuck like that too, but in the version I have of it now, you can't.
So, it might or might not be true. I can't really confirm it either =S

==Q. Help! I own a copy of Monkey Island II: LeChuck's Revenge, but I can't
    get it to run!===========================================================

A. Chances are, your computer is just too good to run Monkey Island II:
LeChuck's Revenge. However, there is a solution to this; the wonderful folk
over at ScummVM (http://www.scummvm.org) have created a nifty program to
allow many old point-and-click games to be run on todays more
  technologically advanced computers.

==Q. Do you know where I can find a copy of Monkey Island II: LeChuck's
Revenge? I can't seem to find it in the shops, nor *ahem*online*ahem*====

A. All of the Lucasarts Point-and-Click Adventure games are on the IDSA's
hitlist, so there are very few places online that would pirate the games.
Add the fact that despite being very old, it's not so long ago that they
were still being sold, you should be able to get a hold of a copy via eBay.
It's a shame though, the games are no longer sold by LucasArts, but have
  not been declared as Abandonware.

==Q. What's Abandonware when it's at home?====================================

A. Abandonware is software that has been abandoned. No, really. What it
actually means is that it is no longer sold or produced, and has been
  released into the public domain.

==Q. Well, what's in it for Lucasarts?========================================

A. Apart from respect from the old-school gamers, nothing really. But there's
only so much flogging of a dead horse that can be done, and the Monkey
Island games are such classics (except the fourth one, since it's so bad)
that EVERYONE should be able to play them.

==Q. Will there ever be another Monkey Island game?===========================

A. Lucasarts seem to have squashed that idea, and Ron Gilbert doesn't have
enough cash to buy the Monkey Island name to make Monkey Island 3a: The
Secret Revealed or Your Money Back, the third game as it was originally
planned to be by him. So no, it doesn't seem likely.
