Max Payne Walkthrough

See, I don't believe in ToC. So, let's go. Note that this is for the Fugitive
game difficulty.


Part 1: The American Dream

Well, if I haven't lost all of you with my "no table of contents" thing, let's
go. You get a scene. You appear in the house. On your left is graffiti.
Examine it for a quick scene. Head forward. The phone is next to the lamp.
Pick it up. What the hell? Dumb cops. Search the cabinet across from the phone
for a Pump-Action Shotgun. Equip it. Head forward, and up the stairs.
Holy fuck! Turn right. You get a scene. Hit R1 over and over again until the
two guys are dead. Enter. Max's daughter...dead. Mother fuckers!
In the next room, there's a Baseball Bat. Grab it. Dive through the next door
with L1, and shoot dead ahead. Farewell. Damn it! They killed his wife too.
Bastards!


Watch the scene. This is where your game-long revenge begins. Head
into the left door. Follow the blood trail. Shit, dead cop. Open all the
cabinets and lockers in here for Beretta Ammo and Painkillers. Leave through
the first door, then stop. You'll hear a conversation. Run through and hit L2
to get into Bullet Time. Take them out. Grab the Desert Eagle and the ammo.
Go up the stairs and stop at the corner. Dive out and take out the two guys
with your new Desert Eagle. More ammo! =) Head forward until you come to a
split. Stop. Look to your left and dive forward, taking out the mobster with
your Desert Eagle. Head down the stairs and make a right. Dive right at the
next hallway and take out shotgun dude. You might take damage, but don't use
a Painkiller.


Proceed forward through the door. Now, with your shotgun equipped, run down
the stairs. Stop when you hear voices, then dive and shoot the two guys in
front of you, and the dude behind you. Go into the Employees Only room and
shoot the guy there. Open the lockers for Painkillers and stuff.
Go back up the stairs. Wait at the locked door here. He opens the door and....
dies. Fuck. Hit the panel and go through the door, the guy who shot him is
gone. o.O How? Go through the first doorway. Stop at the second.
Get ready for a big shootout. Equip your Dual Berettas, and when a guy comes
at you, dive backwards and let him have it. Dive through the door and kill
the others. Use a Painkiller if you have to. By now, you should have 2
Painkillers left. Go through the right door. Hit the control panel in front of
you, then the monitors to the right.


Take the Painkillers from the medicine cabinet. You now have 6! Dayum! Now
head down the stairs, jump onto the train, and look at the steering wheel with
x to get to the next area. Be careful here. With your Dual Berettas equipped,
head off the train. Head forward in Bullet Time, kill the guys that emerge.
Follow the path to the left and open the door. Head forward until you come to
a corner. Dive left and kill the two dudes. Head into Bullet Time, open the
door, and shoot the dude there. Dive right to take out the next guy. Ammo!
Head down the stairs, then North down the tracks. Head into Bullet Time to
take out the first two guys, then dive left to kill the third. Grab the ammo.
Head up the stairs, then up the next stairs. Dive right behind the crates,
then left. Dive in front of the steps and kill all who ascend. Proceed. When
you hear the guys talking about the cops, try to get a visual without making
yourself seen. Pull out your Dual Berettas, go into Bullet Time, then shoot
the first guy. Dive through and take out the other three guys. Use a
Painkiller, you should need it.


Equip your Pump-Action Shotgun, then take out
the first dude you see. Hide behind the doorway and shoot them as they come.
You may need a Painkiller, use it. Head to the middle and operate the computer
by hitting x twice. Head to the newly opened door. Examine the table for
Detonators. Grab the Painkillers next to the monitor. Pick up the phone across
from the computer for a weird, yet funny scene. Hit the computer once more.
Now, leave. Head up the stairs, and go into Bullet Time. Dive at the top to
take out anyone else. Examine the door. Alex...=( Head into the booth and open
the cabinet for Painkillers. Go up the stairs to your right, then dive left to
take out all three guys with your Pump-Action Shotgun. Now, equip your Dual
Berettas, dive right, and pump the dude there full of lead. Get behind
something, and equip your shotgun. When they come, shoot. Dive up the stairs
and take out anyone else, probably from the left.


Head into the booth, grab the Painkillers, and hit the switch. Leave to the
right. Scene time. Get ready. Dive left over and over again, and pump them
full of shotgun ammo. Read the letter on the table, then head to the door.
Wait with your shotgun. When they say they're coming in, go into Bullet Time.
Shoot any who emerge. After they're dead, head down the steps. Go through the
door for Painkillers. Head into the next room, then walk through the glass.
Run all the way down to the next door. Use Bullet Time, go through it, and
shoot the explosive tanks. Dive back to avoid the explosion. When they're
dead, get their ammo, then go through the right door. Dive through the first
door, where you'll see a guy going for a shotgun.


Beat him to it. Take his ammo after that. Move forward
down the hall until you see a dude watching tv. Shoot him. Dive right to kill
the approaching dudes. Head through the double doors, then shoot the guy on
your left. Go back out. Wait at the door. Shoot all who emerge. Follow the
hallway left, then shoot the lock on the door. At the next doorway, face to
your right, then shoot the two guys. Behind you are two others. Go through
the open door and examine the tv. In the next room, examine the cabinets and
stuff for Painkillers and Beretta Ammo. At the next doorway you get a scene.
Kill the dude on the left to make him shut up, and to get Beretta ammo.
There's also some on the shelf here.


Anyway, equip your Dual Berettas,
dive left through the door, then shoot the three guys. Head left at the fork
to find Muerte's room. Don't enter, just make it open, then move to the side.
It's booby trapped! Take the shotgun there, then move around the room for
more ammo, then read the letter on the desk. Head all the way down to find
Painkillers on the couch, then go back to the main hall. Dive at the guys
while shooting them with your Dual Berettas. Head through the door, get a
safe distance away, then shoot the boiler. Dive down and take out the two guys
that approach. Dive left and take out the guy behind the table. Let's do this.
Move to the next room and kill the junkie. Move into the next room after that.
Read the hooker's diary. Open the cabinet by the entrance (there's 2) to open
a secret passage. Get the ammo, then head through the door here. Proceed to
the end of the hall to take out three dudes. Open the elevator. Head in, and
go up. Head forward when it stops. When you see shelves, dive right, and use
your Dual Berettas to take the three out. Open the door, and watch the hostile
blow himself up (hopefully). If not, just kill him.


Dive left and take out the
hostile behind the shelves. Switch to your Lead Pipe and break the boxes in
front of the door. Switch to your Pump-Action Shotgun. open the door and wait.
When a mobster approaches, cap him with your shotgun. Run forward and examine
the newspaper. Bust open the lock on the cabinet with your Lead Pipe, then
open it for some ammo. Head up the metal stairs with your Dual Berettas
equipped, then dive through the door and take them out. Run forward and take
out the other guy. There's Painkillers back where you just took out the two
guys, in a cabinet on the wall.

Run up the stairs and open the door. Dive
through the door on the left with your Pump-Action Shotgun equipped, then
blow their heads off. Search the cabinets for a Molotov and Painkillers. Grab
the Bar Key on the small table. Head out of here after collecting the ammo,
then head forward into the bathroom for four more Painkillers. Head to the
bar. Open the door, yo. Now hide behind the doorway, wait for two guys to
come, then shoot them with your Pump-Action Shotgun. Reload, then switch to
your Dual Berettas. Use Bullet Time and own the hooker behind the counter?
Why? Cause she wouldn't do you, that's why. No, because she's fucking shooting
you! Keep diving until you kill her, then take out the mobster to the left.
Jump behind the counter for ammo. Now dive through the door for a boss. No, it
isn't really a boss, there are no bosses. But I'm saying it is. There's no
scene.

BOSS: Rico Muerte
Weapon of choice: Dual Berettas
Shots to kill: 8-16
Weapon dropped: Ingram

Easy, like any other Boss Fight. Just keep shooting over and over again. By
the end of your second dive, he should be dead.

If you got hurt, run back to the bathroom for some Painkillers. Now head
through the door Rico was guarding. Here, run forward, dive, and take out the
two mobsters. Head through the room and examine the radio or whatever that
giant red thing is. Head forward to the cage. Turn right and go up the stairs.
Go through the Club door. When you hear voices, dive right and own the two
guys with your Pump-Action Shotgun. Proceed to the roof. Shoot the glass and
drop down. A lot of mobsters come. Dive as soon as possible, then kill the two
approaching your position. There's a few more. Just go into Bullet Time for
them. Head back to the control booth after you're done. Hit the EXIT button.
Now run through the double doors to the North in the next room. Watch the
scene. Run along the streets with your Dual Berettas. When you reach the
corner, read the news. Open the back door of the van for shotgun ammo.


Keep going forward, then down the stairs. Dive through the door and shoot 3
guys. Head through the left door. At the first chance you get, turn left. Go
down this hallway. Throw a Molotov at the tanks to your left, that is, when
you're not in front of them, rather, in the hallway you start at. After you
get the explosion, dive forward and take out the guy with your Pump-Action
Shotgun. Head through the now open door. There's a medicine cabinet on the
wall containing two Painkillers. Head through the doorway to the right. Shoot
the guy there. Proceed to dive through the next doorway to take out another
hostile. Go up the stairs until you see shots. Wait for your enemy, then take
him out. Head up the stairs, into the next room, then pick up the phone.
Proceed to take out the guy there. Go into Bullet Time, then go through the
doorway there to kill some guy. Shoot the lock on the door, then read the
letter inside. Grab the Painkillers and the Staircase Key by hitting x by the
shelf.


Leave, then head to the door across from you. Head up the stairs until
you see a grenade. RUN DOWN THE STAIRS! Once it explodes, run up. Look at the
guy there, then run down the stairs. He will blow himself up. Dive to take out
the approaching mobster. Follow him up the stairs and dive shoot him with your
shotgun. Dive across the gap. Be careful about it. When you head through the
giant doorway, an explosion will take place, and you'll be stuck. Dive through
the door, and take out the guy with the shotgun first. Then turn and take out
the others with your own shotgun. Equip your Dual Berettas, then head through
the glass window in the room to the right. This is annoying. Drop onto the
stairs. Look down and shoot the two guys there. Run down the stairs and drop
into a dumpster. Yuck. Grab the dead junkies' ammo, then head forward from the
dumpster and through the only door here.


Follow the path, then you'll get a
short scene. Go through the door. You're outside again! =) Run forward and
head through the first door on the left. Equip your shotgun. From the entrance
there's a doorway leading right. Go through it for some ammo. Return to the
main path. Head forward. Shoot the junkies if you wish. Head up the stairs.
Dive and shhot when a guy approaches. Another will approach from the left.
Dive backwards and take him out. Head up the stairs, dive, and look left to
kill another of these guys. Follow the path here. When you see a junkie, dive
left and kill the mobsters coming down the stairs. Head through the left door.
Explore the room after you get the guy following you.

You'll find Painkillers,
ammo, the like. You can kill the junkie for fun. You deranged being, you. Now
go back to the door that led you outside. Watch the scene, then dive through
and kill them all. Lots of stuff here. Shotgun ammo, Beretta ammo. Anyways,
dive through the next door to kill the guy there, then shoot the guy behind
you. Left of him is a counter. Behind it is a Pump-Action Shotgun and 2
Painkillers. Head into the elevator. Oh god, what the fuck....THIS ELEVATOR
MUSIC SUCKS! Look at the ceiling and shoot the black speaker. "Thank you."
HAHA! MAX EVEN THANKS YOU!

Hit the switch next to the elevator door. Let's go.
Head forward through the door. Pause. Read this! Wait at the next door you see
after entering. Shoot the guy when he comes out. Jump out da window, homie.
Jump onto the pipe and carefully walk across. Jump through the door. Once
you're in, dive towards the center of the room. As in away from the window so
you don't fall and die. Take out this trio of idiots. Head forward into the
next room and open the cabinet for some Ingram Ammo, then jump out this window
too. Dude, this has GOT to be illegal. Again, jump on the pipe, CAREFULLY walk
across, then jump onto the next roof. Head to the door. From here, ignore the
stairs and head forward, then right. Don't shoot the guys you see here, just
hide behind a wall and watch them die. =)

Walk up to the crack. The wall will
fall. Follow the path around. Eventually, you'll see debris in front of you.
Dive backwards to take out the two guys. Now go to where they came from. Walk
along the thin path, then dive left to take out the guy there. Wait for the
other guy, then kill him with your shotgun. Head right. Take the door on the
right wall. There's Ingram ammo in the cabinet here. There's Painkillers on
the oven. Go through the door. Dive left and kill the guys. Use Painkillers
if you have to. Read the letter on the desk. Jump out the window. Watch
Gognitti run. Now drop down, and follow his blood. When you get to the room,
open the cabinet for Ingram ammo. Go through the door, then right. Up the
stairs, then through the door on your right. This is the hard part. Go the
top right corner of the roof.


Get a running start, and jump, NOT DIVE, when
the train comes. It's hard. I died several times. Around 10. Then I got it.
Don't give up. Equip your Dual Berettas. Jump down onto the small pipe. Be
careful. Round the corner carefully, then cross to the other side. Dive
forward and intercept the guy with your Dual Berettas. Take the small drop
right. Keep hedaing straight from here. When you see a gap leading to a
billboard, dive forward. Now take out the guys on the other billboard. It's
hard, yeah. But Dual Berettas help. Follow the roof around until you get to
a door. Head forward after getting the ammo, then prepare for three guys that
come up the stairs. Hurriedly equip your shotgun and wait for one of them to
come. DO NOT GO DOWN THE STAIRS YET. When he does come, blast him. Now head
down. Dive to take out the guy on your left, then dive forward and shoot the
guy on your right. Finally, equip your Dual Ingrams.


Run down, grab the
Painkillers from the medicine cabinet, then head to the door North of the
cabinet. From here, go into Bullet Time and take out the guy across from you.
Another will come. Dispatch him too. Dive right, looking at the doorway. Kill
the guy here. Equip your shotgun. Head forward and dive to take out the guy
who approaches. Jump up into the trailer, get the ammo, then bust open the
crates with your Baseball Bat to get Grenades. Re-equip your shotgun. Drop
into the hole. Grab the Painkillers and a Beretta. Climb up via the wood, then
hit the button next to the ramp for the elevator. Get in, hit the button when
you're in, and ascend. Go into Bullet Time, and look directly North. There's a
guy on the second floor. Shoot him.


Head up the ramp, across the planks, and
onto this roof. Look around the corner to see a guy with shotgun just waiting
for your head. Heh. use a Grenade. You'll kill more than you thought. Dive
forward and cap any survivors. Head around the billboard and up the ramp. Now
dive forward and shoot the two guys to your left. Grab the Painkillers, they
are right by where the guys you shot came from. Follow the ramps to glass.
Shoot the glass, then throw a grenade down there. Jump down with your shotgun
and eliminate any resistance. Bust the tiny box next to the big box with your
Baseball Bat for a Painkiller. Re-equip your shotgun and head through the
door. Run up the stairs. Go through the door on the left wall. Jump over to
the fire escape. Head down the stairs. Head into the door and watch the tv.
Now head through the door on the right wall for Painkillers. Dive through the
door and shoot. Follow the guys, avoid the grenade, dive forward, shoot. Head
throgh the door. Take the door opposite you. Run back when you see a grenade.
Go into Bullet Time and cap the guy. Head through the door. Dive left to kill
the guy coming up the stairs. Dive down the stairs and go crazy with your Dual
Ingrams. Hide behind a wall and switch to your shotgun. Dive left and take out
everyone. Then you face Vinny.

BOSS: Vinny Gognitti
Recommended Weapon: Pump-Action Shotgun
Shots to kill: 4-10
Weapon dropped: Beretta (I could have sworn he was first shooting you with a
shotgun, I know he switched...but where'd the shotgun go?)

Now, head forward. Head to the right and around to enter the door. Hit the
switch and a door will open. Head through and kill the guy there. Oh wait,
there's two. Pick up all the ammo around here, along with some Painkillers.
Then examine the book on the desk. Head through the door, shoot the guy, and
avoid the Molotov. Now shoot the guys on the balcony. Switch to your Dual
Ingrams. head through one of the many doors on the East wall. Dive forward
and kill the two guys here. Then kill the last guy to your left. Head through
the door that says BAR, then dive and look to your left. Shoot the closest
guy, then tho shotgun guy, then the last one. Jump behind the bar for shotgun
ammo and a Painkiller. Switch to your shotgun.


Examine the book on the table.
Now head through the door. Head up the stairs. At this doorway, go into Bullet
Time and blast the three guys. Now dive further into the room and take out the
guy behind the crates. There'll be two other guys as well. Run around the
crates to find the door, then dive forward and blast the guy to reveal a trap
door. DON'T GO DOWN, YOU'LL DIE! Go forward, then dive back when you see a guy
shooting you on the stairs. Take him out. Switch to your Dual Berettas and run
up the stairs really fast. Go into Bullet Time and kill the guys up there.
Switch back to your shotgun and head through the door. Carefully head through
the tiny opening and blow the guy's head off. VERY CAREFULLY WALK ON THE BEAM.
Turn left onto another beam at the intersection. Head through. Head around,
and jump on the beam by the wall. This is hard, but stay calm. Head forward,
and at the intersection, turn right.

Now at the next intersection, turn right
again. Walk to the end. Go through the door, then down the stairs. Go into
Bullet Time and shoot the guys here. Shoot the 4 guys that come up the stairs
in the next room. before heading down the stairs, head to the end of the hall.
There's a medicine cabinet containing 4 Painkillers. Now head down. Now head
up the next set of stairs. There's Painkillers and a control switch here. Hit
the one on the right. Then keep hitting the left one. If that doesn't kill
them, run down and shoot the hell out of them. Head up the next set of stairs.
Hit the switches. Make sure they all point away from you. Head through the
newly cleared path. Avoid the grenade. Head up the stairs, go into Bullet
Time, and kill the guy there. Get a running start, and DIVE across the gap.
Now head through the door. Examine the sofa. Examine the table. Examine the
book in the middle. Continue along the path until you see a steel door. Hit
the button to open it. Start killing mobsters that come from the roof. There
are Painkillers and ammo behind the curtains. After you kill 12 of them, you
face Jack Lupino and two mobsters. Kill the mobsters with your shotgun, then
take out your Dual Ingrams for Jack.

BOSS: Jack Lupino
Recommended Weapon: Dual Ingrams
Shots to kill: Well, instead of shots, I'll say how long you have to hold down
the button for. 3-7 seconds. Easy.
Weapon dropped: It doesn't really matter...you don't have time to pick it up.
Sawed-Off Shotgun, I think.

Part 2: A Cold Day in Hell

After that, you get OWNED! You appear in your house. Well, a weird version of
it. Head forward until you hit a wall. Turn right. Turn left at the first
intersection. Turn left at the four way intersection. Continue along this path
until you hit a wall. Turn right here. Follow the path to get to your family
room. THAT IS THE BEST PATH TO TAKE! I know you won't believe me, but I found
that by using my instincts. Seriously, the end is straight North of the
beginning. It took me like 20 minutes to do that. BE GRATEFUL. Examine the
pictures left of the stairs. Now the pictures on the right. Head up the
stairs, then through the door on the right wall. Follow the hallway until you
see blackness. Step forward into the blackness.

You won't die. Just don't walk
to the side. Move the camera down and look. Blood. It's the only thing you can
walk on. Be very careful. Run down the path of blood straight ahead. Stand
where the trail breaks to the right and look Northwest. Make a leap of faith
in this direction and you will land on a blood trail corner. From here, run
straight ahead to where the blood trail breaks to the right and stand there.
See the blood trail path where the door is? This is where you will be making
your next leap of faith. After you land, head on through the path straight
ahead and eventually it will break to the right and lead to the baby's room.
Next, head on through the next door and run on down the long corridor.


When you get near the end, you will hear some dude talking. Gosh man, wake up!
Now read Michelle's diary, which is on the table. Then go through the door.
Here, you're pretty much screwed. Look around for a cabinet. Break the lock
and open it for two Painkillers. Eat them both. Open the door. Look at the
right path of the intersection. Follow the guys. Hit one, run, then wait
behind the doorway of the room you started at and hold R1. As soon as some
idiot runs into you, grab their ammo and blast away. Equip your Desert Eagle
and eliminate any resistance. Now take the right path you took to hit one of
those guys earlier. Head left into the garage. Break every box in here with
your bat for 2 Painkillers and some ammo. Use them if you've been hurt. Switch
to your Sawed-Off Shotgun and leave the garage the way you came in. Head
through the door here. Grab the Painkillers and Berettas and such. Leave and
head North. Go through the door here.


Hit the button in here. When the
elevator stops, exit and go into Bullet Time. Blast the guy with the shotgun,
then quickly dive and look left to see another guy. Grab their ammo and
continue. Watch out for the grenade that comes when you go through the
doorway. After it explodes, head through and dive to take out the guy on the
left. Dive backwards to kill the guys on the right. There are Painkillers on
the left wall. Head through the door on the left wall (same as where the
Painkillers were) Dive forward with your shotgun and blast the guy to your
left. Head through the door, outside, towards the street. Once you're on the
street, head left until you see a taped up door.

Proceed in. Head through the
"Lounge" door. Dive and blast the three guys there with your Pump-Action
Shotgun. Go to the mini table. Grab the three Painkillers and examine the
radio. Proceed down the hall. Head through the door that says Bar. You face
Frankie Niagara. First, wait at the doorway. When you get a good shot, shoot
through the doorway to take out a henchman. Go into Bullet Time and throw a
Grenade. Switch to your shotgun really quick and take out anyone who
approaches. Go into Bullet Time and kill the last henchman. Now switch to your
Dual Ingrams.

BOSS: Frankie Niagara
Recommended Weapon: Dual Ingrams
Shots to Kill: Hold down R1 for 3-10 seconds, depending on if the Grenade hit
him, or if one of his men accidentally shot him.
Weapon dropped: Ingram

After that, head forward. Get ready. That is, after you watch the long scene.
Start off with your Desert Eagle. Dive through the door and shoot the guy
several times. After you get the shotgun ammo, switch to your Dual Berettas.
Hit the button next to the door to open the gate. Activate Bullet Time and
shoot the guy on the right. Now dive out from behind the crate and cap the
other guy. Grab their ammo. Switch to your shotgun, hit the button next to
the garage on the left wall, then dive left as fast as you can. DON'T ENTER.
Shoot whoever you can, then repeat until all the guys on the ground are dead.
Run forward until the guy throws a Grenade, then run for cover. NOW enter.
Shoot the guy on the balcony (use Bullet Time), then run around grabbing ammo.
Hop on the crates against the left wall, then head to the lower left corner
for a Painkiller. Then hop off the crates onto the stairs.


This might take a
few tries. Head around the balcony here. At the end is Ingram Ammo and another
Painkiller. You should be needing them. Head through the door by the forklift
on the right wall. Shoot at the guy with his back turned to you until he's
dead, then head back through the door and heal if you need to. Head back
through when you're ready, then chuck a Grenade into the trailer. Run back
through the door. Dive through and take out the guy there. Go inside now. Grab
the ammo, then head out. Hit the button next to the door on the left wall.
After you hear a Grenade explode, run in and shoot the guy on the balcony.
Head straight North from the entrance to find an elevator. Get on and hit the
button. Run to the end of the balcony for 4 Painkillers. Thank god. Hit the
switch here. Two guys will come out. Take them out.


Go down the elevator and
head through the door. Here, run right.Take out the guy here, then the guy
behind him. Run forward and hide behind the crates on the right side. Run back
to the other crates and shoot the three guys with your shotgun. Run to the
crane and jump on. Operate the switch. Run opposite the crane and around for
Painkillers and Ingram Ammo. Take put the guy on the balcony and anyone who
comes. Run to the North past the crane, and around to the path the crane
opened up. Run right. Now run like a mofo to the opening in the left. After
crane passes, dive out and take out the two guys that are there. Grab the
Painkiller the first one drops. Run North until you get a black screen and an
autosave. From here, sta behind the corner and LOOK to the right. The crane
will advance. When it stops, shoot the guy on top of it. Hide behind the crate
and shoot the two guys coming for you.


Continue on and shoot the guy by the
next crate. Hide and shoot the others. Grab the Painkiller he drops. Shoot the
guy at the next path. But the bridge won't drop. Run against the left wall of
crates, moving forward and pressing x rapidly. When one opens, shoot the guy
inside, grab the Painkiller, grab the Sniper, and examine the letter. Leave.
Head left when you get out, then take out the two guys at the next area. Hit
the steel door with your bat. It will open. Grab the stuff in here. As in
Painkillers and ammo. Equip your Dual Berettas. Go up to the gate. Shoot the
thing next to the trailer's wheel a few times to trigger a scene. Run all the
way back to where you killed the guy at the bridge, while killing around 6
guys. Cross the bridge. Kill the two guys here.


Go through the first door that
the guy came out of. There's 4 Painkillers in a cabinet here. Go through the
door here. There's a Painkiller and lots of ammo. Watch out for the guy who
comes through the door. Head out, North, and through the door next to the
garage door. Shoot at the guy up top. Now watch out. A guy will approach. Cap
him. Run all the way right, then North. You'll get ammo. Now run back to the
path. Shoot the guy behind the shelves, then on top of them. AVOID THE
GRENADE! Another will be thrown after that. use your Dual Ingrams to eliminate
the mobsters. Run around in a complete circle to find more ammo and
Painkillers on a shelf by where you start, except on the other side. Head up
the ramp at the Northwest corner. Kill the guy on the balcony. Now head
through the door and shoot the guy coming. Don't dive. Crouch behind the box
where the Sniper Rifle Ammo is. Snipe the guy across from you. Hit the button
facing up to go up. Snipe the guy to your left.

Then hit the left button.
While you're moving, look left. Snipe the guy here. When you stop, hit the
left button again. Jump into the tower. Crouch and get a view of the guys
shooting you. Snipe them all. You have to stand, so crouch, shoot, crouch. You
will need all the Painkillers you can get. After they're dead, jump back in
and hit the up button twice. Snipe the guy across from you in the tower. Hit
the up button again. Go in the tower and grab the Painkillers and ammo. Now
snipe the guys below. It's hard, I know. After those two are dead, hit the
down button. Hit the right button. Grab the ammo and stuff here, then go
through the door. Take out everyone in here. It's easy. just use your Dual
Ingrams. Head up the other ramp. When you get to a door, get ready to kill a
shotgun guy guarding it. Hit the button next to the door. Open the door after
a second or two, then shoot like crazy to kill the two guys. Go down the ramp
and head to the Northeast.


Go in the cage, then get the Painkillers and ammo.
Head through the door after equipping your Dual Ingrams. Here, go into Bullet
Time and shoot the guys here. Switch to your shotgun and proceed onto the
ship. Take out the guy that approaches and the guy on the balcony further
North. There's also a guy between crates before the balcony, so watch out.
Head up the stairs, crouch, and shoot the guy in the room with your shotgun.
On the left wall is a medicine cabinet containing 4 Painkillers. Pick up the
phone that's by it. Hit x to open the door here, aim down, and shoot the guy
immediately, before he throws a Grenade. Kill the next guy that approaches.
Kill another with a shotgun, then chuck a Grenade down to kill the last two.
Switch to your Dual Ingrams. Heal your damage and proceed through the door.
You'll have to kill a few guys and a boss. Do not enter the room.Take out the
few guys with Bullet Time, then retreat back to the stairs for healing and
reloading. Then face the boss. Remember, there are explosive barrels in here.
Use them. Throw Grenades in for an alternate strategy.

BOSS: Dime
Recommended Weapon: Dual Ingrams
Shots To Kill: Hold down R1 for 6-20 seconds.
Weapon dropped: Pump-Action Shotgun.

After that, head in and grab the Grenades, ammo, and Painkillers. There's more
ammo and a Painkiller directly right of the entrance, around the boiler or
whatever it is. Head into the room all the way North for a shitload of ammo.
There are Painkillers as well. You'll automatically switch to your newest and
best weapon, the Colt Commando. Head back the way you came. Jump right, over
the table, then head straight North through the double doors. Keep running
North through the next set of double doors. Run around the shelves to get to
the next door. Keep avoiding the flames until you get to another hallway.
Here, walk in between the flames a second time, go around the flames, and hop
over a few tables to get to the stairs. Keep heading up the stairs until you
get to a door. Head through the door. It's not over. Head straight North,
then right to find the door. Head through, then jump over the fallen shelves.
STOP. Head forward A LITTLE, THEN RUN! A tank will come flying at you and
explode. Head through. Jump over the shelves left. You'll find double doors
behind the flames. Here, there's a mobster. Dive and test out the Colt
Commando on him. Run around and find the ammo. Left of the entrance are 2
Painkillers. Chuck a Grenade down the stairs.


Colt Commando equipped, head
down the hatch and shoot three guys. Proceed through, killing everyone here.
It's not hard. Just dive around each corner and shoot. Head up the stairs and
through the door. Proceed forward. Grab the Painkillers on the shelf and dive
right to take out a guy coming for you. Go through the door on the left and
examine the body. Exit. Go into Bullet Time and through the doorway to the
North. Look left to take out two guys. You should be running out of Colt
Commando ammo. =( Switch to your Pump-Action Shotgun. Hide behind the
bloodstained thing and kill the guy that approaches. Chuck a Grenade into the
next room and kill anyone that's left with your shotgun. Follow the path and
head up the stairs. Head through the door. Don't bother shooting. Go to where
the oven is for 3 Painkillers and ammo. Switch to your Dual Ingrams. Examine
the paper on the table. Beyond the North door lies the first of the Trio.
There are also two guys there with him.


Go into Bullet Time and run behind the
table while pumping your Dual Ingram ammo into them. Shoot until they're dead,
duh. take out the guys that come from the door you came from, then go back
where you came, dive through the door, look left, and kill the guy there. Head
to the next door. Look at the plant and shoot like crazy to kill the guy
behind it. Go through the double doors and dive through to take out the two
guys here. Go behind the counter for 3 Painkillers. Head through the double
doors here, then crouch behind the stairs until you can get a shot of the guy
on the statue thing. Shoot him, then go into Bullet Time and kill the guy on
the balcony. At the top of the stairs, head right, and dive through the door.
There are three guys here. Don't stop shooting. After they're dead, go to the
other door on the balcony.


RUN LIKE HELL when you hear the guys talking. Go
all the way to the other room you came out of. After you hear an explosion,
run out and run right. Here, you should be able to see the guy shooting a
grenade launcher. Note that the shots blow up before they hit their target.
Proceed to the door, but watch out. Stay out of range. Just get close enough
to see the guy shooting, then right after he shoots, go into Bullet Time and
shoot the guy. Dive and take out the guy to your left behind the bed. Head
through the door here. Hide and when a guy comes, blast him. Grab the
Painkillers in the cabinet here. Head through the door and examine the dead
woman on the bed. Proceed, then pick up the ringing phone next door. Go into
Bullet Time and go through the door. Shoot the guy there. Go into Bullet Time,
then never stop shooting the suit guys. After they die, grab their Colt
Commando ammo. Go through the door, then the next door. FUCK. =( Follow the
path. Go through the door at the end, then prepare for MENTAL pain.


Examine
the letter. Pick up the phone. Go through the door. Repeat. Fucking weird.
After heading through the door, continue along until you reach a long hallway
and it's loading, saying "The Killer Was Smiling". Run all the way down the
long hallway. Another blood trail. -.- Follow the trail until the path ends in
a splatter. Look down. Jump onto the next splatter. Run to the corner, then
run towards the next splatter and jump forward as far as you can when you get
to it. Go forward and turn right when the trail turns right. At the splatter,
look down to see another splatter to the right. Land on it by jumping off the
side of the splatter you're on. Run forward and turn left when the path does.
Jump North to the next splatter. Follow the path. Get a running start here and
jump straight ahead. Follow the path, and after it straightens out, get a
running start and jump to the candlelit place. Congrats, you just beat, in my
opinion, the second hardest thing in the game. Now own yourself. You're done.

Part 3: A Bit Closer To Heaven

Now, you're in real life again.
Yay! No more dreams! Except you have only a Baseball Bat, a Lead Pipe, and a
Beretta. Smash the glass here with your Bat, (no use wasting ammo) then switch
to your Beretta. Drop down. Stay far away from the lasers. Shoot the black
thing where they begin when you're FAR AWAY to blow them up. When I say, "kill
the lasers", that means shoot them from a distance. Unless I say to Grenade
them. Anyways, continue on after they're dead, and head through the door. Grab
everything. As in a Painkiller and ammo. Now examine the radio. Head through
the door. Use Bullet Time to take out the guys from up top. Run around the
balcony and watch out for the guy behind you.


After getting the Colt Commando
and the ammo, head downstairs. Watch out for the guy that comes out of the
giant crate thing. Enter the door across from where the guy ambushed you, and
when you hear a radio, dive out and kill the approaching mercenary. In here,
grab the Painkillers and max out your Colt Commando ammo. Leave, head North,
and hit the button here to open the garage door. Use Bullet Time to kill the
two guys there. Head through the door the guy came out of. Back into the
bottom right corner and use your Beretta to kill the laser. Watch out for the
incoming Grenade. Then watch out for the mercenary in the room to the right.
After he's dead, go in. Hit the button next to the door. Shoot the two guys
on the ground, then shoot the guy on the balcony. Go all the way around to
reach a shelf with lots of ammo. Go through the door to see two guys and a
laser. Throw a Grenade in. Boom.


If that didn't kill them or the laser, use
the Colt Commando. There's ammo to the right as soon as you walk in. After
everything's dead, head through the left door. When you see a Grenade, run
back in. Now pop out and kill the guy on the left. Now the guy in the distance
to the right. Cross the bridge on the left and hit the button to cross. When
you do so, watch for the guy coming down the stairs. Kill him. Head up the
stairs, go into Bullet Time, and kill the guy approaching from the door across
from you (the one you came from). On the right wall, there's a door. Head in.
Run down the hallway until a guy ambushes you. Kick his ass. At the corner,
watch for the Grenade, then kill the guy.


Same with the next corner. Go
through the door and get behind something. When they come(two guys), kill em.
When you reach the stairs, ascend, then head down the hallway. When you reach
the glass window, go into Bullet Time and do a slow-mo "walk-by" on the two
guys there. Go in, grab the stuff. Check out the radio on the table. Leave and
head through the door that's North of you. RUN! DIVE THROUGH THE DOOR! SHOOT
THE GUY THERE! SHOOT THE GUY THAT COMES FROM THE OTHER DOOR! GRAB THE
PAINKILLERS! EXAMINE THE PAPERS! Intense. =) Go through the door. Kill the
guy there. Go far away and chuck a Molotov at the lasers. Turn the valve.
Go through the door and run like hell.


Shoot the far away barrel. Shoot the
mercenary that comes. Go through the door and shoot the guy across from you.
Throw a grenade into the next door and RUN FOR YOUR LIIIIIIIFE! After that,
head in. Time your run through so you don't get scorched, then take out the
guy there. Hop over the fence. Shoot the sparking lock on the wall. Go in and
grab the ammo. Turn the valve. Proceed. Go UP TO THE DOOR, NOT THROUGH IT.
Listen to the explosion. When it's done, go in and CAREFULLY walk left across
the very tiny metal floor that's left. Then go up. Jump over the railing when
you get to the red cargo box. Hit the button to cross the bridge. Take out the
guy to your left. Go where he was to find an M79. Shiiiit!


Run back across the
bridge, and when you're on it, blast the forklift with it. The path is now
clear. Blast the mercenary that comes out of the door. Back up and kill the
laser. Go left to find a medicine cabinet with 3 Painkillers inside. Head
through the right door and hide behind the boxes. Run back inside when you see
a Grenade.  Shoot the guy on the balcony, and the guy on the ground. Jump onto
the crates and cross. Go onto the center rail of the cage you're on. Dive
onto the broken stairs. This took me 20 minutes. =( Anyways, shoot the guy
there. Run around the balcony for ammo and stuff.


If you're daring, go onto
the steel beam up on the balcony and follow it for a Painkiller and ammo. Head
to the first door when you go up the stairs. Hide behind a crate. Now kill
the guys shooting you. Bust the box by the cage for a Painkiller. Dive through
the door and kill the guy there. Grab the stuff. There's Painkillers! Yayyyy!
Examine the monitor. Dive to the door and kill the guy. Proceed through the
next door. Go immediately left and kill the guy there. Head down to kill
another. Go up the tiny stairs and open the cabinet for M79 ammo. There's
Colt Commando ammo in the corner. Hit the switch on the monitor. Shoot the
place the thing hit. Kill the two guys here.


Dive through the door. Forget the
lasers. Just go through the door in front of you. This is an annoying part.
Here, kill the laser in front of you. Shoot the black thing on the right wall
to do this. Jump over the wooden beam on the floor, and head forward until you
see another laser. Kill it. Proceed North. Hit the button next to the door.
Now, dive forward and kill the two guys here. Get behind a crate to avoid
getting hit with the cart...and the shots. When the garage door closes, heal,
reload, whatever you wanna do. Then open it by hitting the button next to it.
Go into Bullet Time and kill the two guys here. Shoot the barrel next to the
guy in front of you to kill him.


Then shoot the guy up the tiny stairs. Now
head up those stairs, grab the 2 Painkillers in the cabinet, and grab the ammo
as well. Hit the switch here. Go back through the garage door, then go through
the door here. Dive left to take out the TWO guys here. One will come rolling
in. Grab the ammo, kill the lasers, and go into Bullet Time and through the
door. After you kill the two guys here, go all the way right, hop on the
crates, and then onto the metal thing to cross. Head through the garage door
and DIVE FORWARD TO AVOID THE GRENADE! Kill the guy, then hit the button for
the elevator. Wait behind the doorway and switch to your shotgun. When it
opens, wait for the guys to come. There's 2. Kill them both. Hit the switch
and go up. Watch the scene. Now shoot the two guys.


THE GLASS IS NOT
BULLETPROOF! Examine the logo on the floor. Head through the door that says
Processing. You'll have to hit the buttons to open the doors here. Now around
the corner are three mercenaries. Go into Bullet Time to kill them. Pick up
the Painkillers they drop. Head through the Test Facilities door. Then head to
the right to go through the next door. Head through the door that says
Laboratories. Then the next door. Examine the computer by the dead guy to get
the password. Now head back through the doors, and when you see the computer
that says "SELF DESTRUCT" on it, head up the two stairs next to it. Enter the
code by hitting x. The door on the left will open. Grab the Painkillers. Leave
and head North from here. Examine the computer here to gain access to the
elevator. Head in and activate it. When it stops, go North until you see a
door to the right. Enter. Run to cell B7. The numbers are above the doors on
the right wall. Hit x to open the cell.


Follow the guy into the elevator. Keep
following him until you hear a loud sound. Two mercenaries are coming. Dive
and kill them. Keep following him. Go into the chamber to the left of him.
Wait. Here, head forward. You'll see the guy getting shot through the glass.
Head through the door. Run all the way left and jump over the table, around
the flames. Head through this door to get to an elevator. Activate it. When
the elevator opens, well, yeah...shoot the laser thing you can see. Chuck a
Grenade. Try to throw it right before the door closes. Proceed in. You have to
hit the button to get back in. Kill all of the remaining lasers. Examine the
computer. Head through the Storage door and activate the elevator. Here,
examine the computer right here. Run through the door. Now, PAUSE THE GAME.
Start shooting out the window like a madman to kill the lasers. Make sure
they're all gone. Run through, heading through all the doors. Once you get to
the elevator, activate it and look down. See the metal cage looking thing? DO
NOT STAND ON IT. Stand against the wall. Watch the radical scene. Here, hide
behind a wall and wait with your Colt Commando.


Kill the one guy, then dive to
kill the other. Proceed, following the path B.B.'s car traveled. Dive left and
right like crazy and shoot the two thugs ahead. Head down the ramp. Two thugs
will pop out. Cap them. Hide behind the boxes. See the next two? Kill them as
well. When you see the car, run back to where you came. To avoid the drive-by,
that is. Wait with your shotgun and kill the approaching thug. Now whip out
your Ingram and blast the guy behind the car. Run forward to where the guy
was, then run through the huge doorway. Dive forward and kill the guy on your
left. Then the two guys to your right. Avoid the car. Proceed down to kill two
more. Kill another that comes at you. Open the doors of the van after killing
the guy left of it. You get ammo and Painkillers. Two guys will ambush you
from around the right corner. Wait for them. After they're dead, proceed. Kill
the last guy. Hide behind the wall. Shoot the guy behind the gate. Shoot the
lock on the gate.


Proceed. Hide behind the wall when the van comes. After it
passes, hide behind the column. Dive left and kill the guy wtih the shotgun.
Keep heading left. Go into Bullet Time, then around the corner to kill three
guys. MORE WILL COME. Around the next corner, there's more of them. There are
4 Painkillers in the bottom left corner. Around the next corner, one guy will
pop out of a door. Ice him. Go in to get ammo. Examine the radio. Head forward
from here to proceed. Watch the right corner for a guy with a shotgun. Another
guy will come. Kill him. Wait at this corner. WATCH THE PEOPLE DIE! =D Shoot
the guy in the distance. Two more will come. Kill them. Kill the guy behind
the car, then around the corner, kill the two others. One guy drops a
Painkiller. Proceed down the ramp. Kill the guys down here. Keep killing until
you get a scene where you see B.B. Kill the rest. There's Painkillers again in
the bottom left corner. B.B. lies here too.


Go into Bullet Time and shoot him
until he runs. Follow him. Jump on the crates and over the gate. After the
scene, take a right and go all the way down the hall. At the end is a
Painkiller. Kill the laser. Now kill the mercenary that comes. Continue. Kill
the two mercenaries that come. Grab the ammo. Go up the stairs and continue
across the hallway. Ignore the mercenary. Go through the door. Wait for two
mercenaries to come. Kill them. There's 4 Painkillers in a cabinet here.
Examine the monitor. Exit the room and proceed North until a guy pops out.
Kill him. Take a left at the first door. Go through and dive forward to avoid
a Molotov, then cap that foo! Kill the guy approaching from the side, then
kill the guy guarding the stairs. Head up. Another guy will approach. Take him
out. WATCH OUT FOR GRENADES UP HERE! Head up the stairs. Don't dive, run! Kill
the approaching guy, then head up.


Go through the first door to the left.
Here, jump over the laser. Continue on. Examine the radio. Kill the laser. Now
kill the guy that comes. Go to where the guy came from, then jump over the
laser here. Go through the door here. Watch out for the two guys that come.
After they are dead, proceed. Go through the door at the end. Examine the tape
on the table here. Examine the blueprints on the table. Go through the door
and get the ammo and Painkillers in the cabinet at the top left corner. Go
through the next door. Shoot the guy on the balcony here. When you open the
door at the end, a guy will come. Kill him. Shoot the lasers. Keep going down
the stairs. At the end of the stairs, go through the left door. Chuck a
Grenade down the stairs. If it kills the laser, you're lucky. If it kills them
and the laser, hug me. Mine didn't kill anything. The point is so they run.
Shoot the laser. Proceed down and kill them.


Replenish your grenade at the
end, then go through. Kill the guy here. Jump over the laser using the crates.
Shoot the next laser. Then the next 2. Go through the door beyond. Shoot the
laser, it'll knock over the walls. Kill the guys on the left, then kill the
others. Examine the table. After you've killed all the guys on the balcony and
on the ground, jump onto the stairs using the knocked over wall. Head around,
and a guy will come at you from the doorway. Kill him, then watch out for the
Grenade the guy through the door throws. After killing him, you'll see some
big stairs. DO NOT GO FUCKING UP THEM. Go AROUND THEM AND YOU'LL FIND 4
PAINKILLERS! Now head up and go through the only door you can go through.
Don't go any further. Just wait to kill the guys here. Take cover. Kill them
all. After they die, shoot any remaining lasers and walk up the fallen pillar.
It will lead to the balcony.


Head to the left door. Here, head North and kill
the guys who pop out of the door to the left. Head through the door you were</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
originally going to and kill the guy here. Go to the next door and kill the
guy that comes out. Go through the door in here and kill the guy right in
front of you. There's also another guy that's across from you. There's another
guy on a lower level, just ignore him. Go through the next door and head
through the doorway on your right. Kill the three guys that come from the
roof. Continue down the stairs and through the door. Head through the next
door and it will seem like you are back where you started. You're not. Just
head around to the next door and go down the stairs. Continue down, go through
the door, kill the guys. Head through this door. Take cover and kill all the
guys here. It seems hard. It isn't.


I took one shot doing it. Grab their ammo.
Now jump over the desk and leave. Go through the security thing and set off
the annoying alarm. Three guys will come from the left; own them. Go to where
they came from, get as far back as possible, and hide behind a pillar. There
are guys with M79s on the balcony. Fuck...very annoying. Take out your sniper,
crouch, and take out one at a time. use as many Painkillers as you need. Even
if it takes all of them. Proceed, and take out the two guys that approach. Use
your M79 if necessary. Grab the Painkillers the first one drops. Go through
the door in the corner. Shoot the laser and go up the stairs. Chuck a Molotov
up at the top of these stairs to kill the lasers. Shoot the the guy at the top
of the next set of stairs, then shoot the laser and head up to kill 3 guys.
ONE OF THEM THROWS A GRENADE! After they're dead, run to the far Northeast
corner to find a medicine cabinet containing 2 Painkillers.


Head back to the
stairs and around them to kill a guy, then shoot the lasers. Proceed up the
stairs and kill the guy that approaches. Head to where he was. YES IT SAVES!
Here, prepare for a nuisance. Jump over the first and second lasers, then
start shooting and run under the next one. A guy will pop out. Hopefully, he
didn't own you. Jump over the next lasers and shoot the guys here. Head again
to the Northeast corner for Painkillers. EXCEPT THERE'S FOUR! Yayyyy! Go back,
kill the two guys here, then activate the elevator. Kill the three guys here.
Reactivate the elevator. DONT HIT ANYTHING, JUST GO IN. Snipe the lasers. You
shouldn't be able to snipe the last two. Leave them. Pull out your Dual
Ingrams and activate the elevator. WASTE AS MUCH AMMO AS YOU HAVE TO TO KILL
THE LASERS. After that, you've just completed, in my opinion, the hardest part
of Max Payne. Go into Bullet Time when the elevator opens, and shoot all 4
guys. First, the ground guys, then the balcony guys.


Head through the
Northeast door. Shoot the guy in here. Grab the 3 Painkillers on the right
wall. Hit the button on the North wall twice. Leave, then shoot the guys out
here. Go through the open elevator door. Here, activate the elevator and stay
in the corner left of the button. When the glass in front of you breaks, walk
through it and shoot the glass you land on. Activate this elevator. When it
stops, go into Bullet Time and shoot the two guys on your left. Dive backwards
to kill the guy there. Proceed and kill the guy on the ground, and the one on
the balcony. Take out your M79 and shoot the blue things in the center. Kill
the guys that approach with your Jackhammer. Kill the guy in the elevator,
then head into the elevator. Grab the Painkillers he dropped. Activate the
elevator. Go up the stairs. Shoot everyone in here. Use your Painkillers.
Check out the computer. Activate the elevator. Kill the 4 guys and crouch
behind the statue. After the bitch stops shooting, kill the guys that come
from the left. One drops Painkillers. Proceed.


A guy will come out of the
locked elevator to your left. Kill him, then grab the Painkillers he drops.
Head through the right door, then through the glass doors. Jump over the
railing onto the side path, and run like hell. Jump over the railing at the
end, and rush through the door. You're almost done. Shoot the guy that comes
down the stairs to your right, then head up. Watch out for the Grenade. Shoot
them, then guys will come out of the elevators. Kill all 4. Go through the
door and kill the 2 guys, then the one that comes from the right. Dive through
the left door and look left to kill the two guys here. Head through the door,
and look right to kill a guy. Head forward to kill another. Grab the
Painkiller. Run up the stairs and shoot everyone in the room. Use your M79
along with cover to prevail. Hit the button on the desk to advance to the last
part. Head through. For this part, I uploaded a video. Look.

Run up the stairs as fast as you can. Don't bother
shooting the girl up there, it won't work. Head through the door at the top.
Watch the scene. Take out your Sniper. Look straight ahead and jump onto that
weird triangular thing the wire is on. Don't shoot the wire. Look across from
here to see another wire. Shoot the bottom of it. That's the square part. Now
jump over the railing and run left. Ignore the shots. When you're behind
something, shoot the guys that come. After three are dead, stay behind
whatever you are behind, and snipe the bottom of the wire right in front of
you. Now look up at the tower and fire all of your Colt Commando ammo into it.
You can also use your Dual Ingrams. Go crazy. You just beat Max Payne!
