King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember Trophy Guide

Introduction: Saffahh Sama here, AKA Mickey D Luffy.  I’m a long
time player of the Click Adventure genre.  I’ve been a fan ever since I first
played classics like Pepper’s Adventures In Time on my family’s old 486 back
when I was barely old enough to click a mouse.  Ever since replaying my
favorite KQ game (KQ VI) a few years ago and seeing what Telltale has done
with Sam & Max and Monkey Island (Monkey Island 2 is the best click adventure
ever!) I’ve been hoping and praying for a new game in the series and I’ve
finally got it.  I enjoyed every minute of this game and I hope you do too.

Symbol Key:
[*] Indicates a short time that this trophy is available.
[**] Indicates you only have 1 short chance to your trophy per play through.
[+] This symbol indicates the trophy requires repeating the same activity
multiple times in a row until the trophy pops.
[!] Indicates the trophy is automatically received as part of the main story.
[X] This is one of the many ways Graham can die.

                                       The Trophies
A Prickly Situation [*X] - Walked into the Spiniferous Thornweeds.
Simply walk into the patch of thornweeds outside of town which lead
to the well.  Can be done any time before cutting the weeds down with Amaya’s
hedge cutting tool.

A Secret Entrance [**] - Found a Mysterious Cave Entrance.
During the search for a replacement wheel for the trader’s wagon there
is a small, easily missed, path just above the “unicorns”.  This will lead to
a whole new area that is most likely a back entrance to the dragon’s cave.
Graham also makes a comment suggesting that this may be an important location
in a future episode.

Dead End Dancer [**+] - Danced in the Dark.
During your SECOND trip to the well (with Achaka), immediately
following the room with 2 switches (the left one smashes you with a giant
rock, the right one opens the door), Achaka will want you to follow him in
jumping down a hole to proceed.  DO NOT follow him yet.  Instead continue
walking straight down the long, empty tunnel until you come to a cliff.
Each time you approach the edge Graham will say something silly like listening
to his echo.  After a few times he will dance.

Fast Feather [!] – Defeated Whisper in the Duel of Speed

Froggy Throat [+] – Tried to Catch a Toad, Got a Frog in Throat.
At any time go to the pond and try to catch a frog.  You will fail,
but try again, and again… try until you get a trophy.

Graham the Basilisk [**] – Walked on Water.
While trying to find a way across the river to the tournament you can
cheat by using your knowledge of what Manny will do to cross and walk on the
rocks yourself.  Upon doing so Graham gets confused when he realizes he’s
telling the story wrong and rewinds a bit to get it right.  The area where you
can walk is very narrow, you have to remember the exact spot where he crosses.

Helping Hat [*+] – Saved a Picnic, Got a Wedzel Patch, Completed the Potion.
This trophy has you do all 3 of the side quests which the shop owners
give you.  This trophy also differs from other repeated activity trophies in
that you don’t repeat the activities all at once, but rather you have to
remember to keep doing the action every time you come to it throughout the
game.  It is important to note that you do not get this trophy immediately
during the game.  You will receive it at the very end of the game at the final
“The End” screen where you will see an image of Amaya with your badge and the
baker holding an engagement ring among other things.  It is also special in
that it has 3 separate parts.

a.      The Picnic – The baker has a picnic set up with a romantic view of the
castle but a hive of bees is perched above his preparations.  If you shake the
tree (which you will do) the hive falls on the picnic table.  You will know
you have failed if at any point late in the game you see his face covered in
bee stings and he mentions that his picnic was ruined.  To save his picnic get
the fruit picker to the left of the pumpkin patch after the guard is finished
with it.  Use the picker on the beehive and Graham will safely dispose of the
buzzing beasts.

IMPORTANT: This beehive is also required for another trophy (Purple Badger
Don’t Care), so don’t complete THIS portion of the trophy until you have
gotten THAT one first!

b.      The Wedzel Patch – This is the part that requires repeated actions
spread out over the course of the whole game.  Amaya the Blacksmith will
mention to you how to get this which is to simply make sure the back door out
of town (which leads to the well) is always closed!  Every time you walk
through the door stop, turn around, and close it behind you.  It’s that
simple.  Late in the game when you speak to her she will say something about
making sure you will get that patch and that is all you can go on to know
you’re doing right.  You never actually get the patch during the game itself
which is a bit confusing at first, I was afraid to end the game because I
hadn’t actually gotten it yet but that is normal.

c.      The Potion – This is the easiest of the 3 challenges.  All you need
to do is catch a frog… but you can’t do it… is there anyone we know who CAN
do it? Oh yes, WHISPER CAN DO IT!!!  After you beat Whisper in the race he
will turn into a crying mess next to the frog pond.  Hand Whisper the picture
of him that you got off the tournament leaderboard (if you don’t have it...
go get it…).  He will be so excited that he still has fans that he will stop
crying and go back to his old self, albeit a little more respectful towards
Graham.  Now that he’s not crying and respects Graham you can ask him to catch
a frog for you.  Take that frog to the wise couple in the potion shop and they
will give you the teeth whitening potion.  You’re going to want this anyway
for the final challenge against Manny so you should already have it done.

Horn Blower [+] – Blew on many Horns.
This is confusing as it says blow on MANY horns, so I was blowing on
every horn in the game at first.  As it turns out you just need to blow on ONE
horn like EIGHT times…. Maybe it was nine times… it was a lot of times… the
horn you need to blow on is specifically Waddel’s horn just before you get to
the frog pond.

In The Mouth of Danger [**X] – Walked into the Dragon’s Mouth.
At the beginning when sneaking past the sleeping dragon in the room
with a spiked bed and noisy bones on the ground instead of going up the
ladder, continue walking right up to the dragon until he eats you.

Misteak [*X] – Fed a steak to a Wedzel Wolf.
At any time that you have the steak you can use it on one of the
rustling bushes in the woods near the well.

Napping on the Job [*+] – Took a Brief Nap.
During your first trip to the well get into one of the beds over and
over until the trophy pops.

Opening Knight [**+] - Opened door to Achaka three times.
You have one chance to get this during your second trip into the well.
After Achaka frees you from the cage, when you should be moving shields around
to ricochet his arrow to the dragon tail, there is a tiny door which Graham
used to get out of the room.  Open it 3 times until the trophy pops.

Purple Badger Don’t Care [*] – A Dyed Badger ate Bees.
After dropping the bee hive onto the picnic table you can use the
badger on the hive to get this trophy.  He must be dyed purple so make sure to
dip him in the unfinished teeth whitening potion before you do this.  This
trophy can blocked if you did part of the Helping Hat trophy too soon so you
may need to review that.

Strong Minded [!] – Defeated Acorn in the Duel of Strength.

That’s the Ticket [!] – Presented an Eye to enter the Tournament.

The End? [!] – Told the Story about becoming a Knight.

Unicorn Snack Food [**+X] – Was a Snack for a Majestic Unicorn.
Towards the beginning of the game, while searching for a replacement
wheel, use the hatchet on Mr. Fancypants (the goat… err uh, I mean unicorn)
until you get this trophy.

That’s everything for Episode 1.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  If you
have any questions or find any major mistakes please put them in the GameFAQS
board for the PS4 version of A Knight to Remember and I’ll check on them every
now and then.  I may write a full text guide to the game if I get bored
enough.  Hope to see you all again for Episode 2!
