WELCOME TO THE GTA2 CAR CRUSHER'S GUIDE
This is an in-depth FAQ for GTA2. There are no mission walkthroughs,
tips on strategy or vehicle and weapon guides. Instead, I will tell
you about the really useful car crushers on each level of the game,
and the benefits of using them.
WHAT DO THE CAR CRUSHERS DO?
Put simply, if you take a vehicle to one of the car crushers, you
will receive a bonus. Some of these are incredibly useful, such as
cop bribes or weaponry, while others are more unconventional, such as
invisibility or the electrofingers.
HOW DO THE CRUSHERS WORK?
Simply steal a car and drive it under the crane next to the crusher.
Then, collect your prize from the nearby conveyer belt. Simple, no?
LET'S GET CRUSHIN'
What follows is a level-by-level guide to car crushing. It gives the
location of all useable cranes and where their collection point can
be found. It also tells you what bonus comes from each car. Note
that although some of the cars that are found on every level have the
same bonus all the time, there are others that don't. So while a
Squad Car always gives you a Cop Bribe no matter where you are, a
Shark gives you Molotovs in the commercial area but gives you rocket
launcher rounds in the industrial area.
SOME VEHICLES CANNOT BE CRUSHED
If a vehicle is too heavy for the crane, or too long to fit in the
crusher, it cannot be destroyed, and has no bonus. The vehicles that
cannot be crushed are:
Army APC (you can't even get in them)
Box Truck
Fire Truck
G4 Bank Van
Hot Dog Van
Ice Cream Van
Krishna Bus
Medicar
Stretch Limo
SWAT Van
Tank
Truck Cab
T.V Van
Van
LEVEL ONE- DOWNTOWN AREA
The Cranes
South East Flotsam - The south docks. Collection point is to the
south.
Central Zarelli. Zaibatsu controlled territory. Collection point is
to the east.

LEVEL TWO - RESIDENTIAL AREA
THE CRANES
South East Morton. Just south of the save point. Requires two jumps
to reach the conveyer belt.
The other four cranes in this area are for gang use only.
THE CARS BONUS
Army Land Roamer 30 S-UZI rounds (see note below)
B-Type Invisibility
Benson ElectroFingers
Big Bug Armor
Bug 30 S-UZI rounds
Eddy 30 S-UZI rounds

The Army Land Roamer can only be stolen during the Redneck mission
"Second Hand Tank". There are a number of them located in the Army
Base, and I have been unable to steal one when my wanted level has
been at six. The driver stays in the vehicle and prevents you from
stealing it.
LEVEL THREE - INDUSTRIAL SECTOR
THE CRANES
Central Gonad. Just to the east of the large hospital. The conveyer
belt is to the east, and requires a jump to reach it.
The other two cranes in this area are for gang use only.
THE CARS BONUS
B-Type Invisibility
Eddy 30 S-UZI rounds
Jagular XK 60 Electrogun rounds
Jefferson Get Outta Jail Free Card

BONUSES: WHAT DO THEY DO?
Each reward you claim for crushing cars is graded on two factors,
with a range from 1 to 5, Usefulness and Difficulty. A high
Usefulness rating indicates that it is invaluable, while a low one
means it is pointless. A high Difficulty rating may mean that the
car you need is rare, a gang car or a law enforcement vehicle.
Sometimes, a bonus may be harder to find on one level than on
another, so three ratings will be given.
WEAPONS
Usefulness: 4 Difficulty: 2
Weapons will come in three batches of 5, 10 or 20, depending on what
it is. S-UZI rounds are by far the easiest to find, with Electroguns
being the hardest, though you shouldn't have too many problems.
ARMOR
Usefulness: 3 Difficulty: 3
Quite rare, and is easier to get hold of near gang phones. Pretty
pointless.
COP BRIDE
Usefulness: 5 Difficulty: 4
Found only in Squad Cars, so kind of hard to get. However, as it
instantly reduces your wanted level to 0, it can be invaluable, and
cheaper than a re-spray.
DOUBLE DAMAGE
Usefulness: 2 Difficulty: 3
Does what you'd expect, but lasts about 30 seconds, so is of little
use in missions. Can be fun if used to demolish cars.
ELECTROFINGERS
Usefulness: 2 Difficulty: 3
Anyone near you gets electrocuted. Lasts about 30 seconds.
FAST RELOAD
Usefulness: 2 Difficulty: 4/4/3
Increases your rate of fire quite substantially. Great in theory but
is very temporary.
GET OUTTA JAIL FREE CARD
Usefulness: 5 Difficulty: 4/1/3
If you are arrested with one of these on you, you are released
without losing money or score multiplier. You should always try and
have one on you. There is one freely available on level 2, near the
Rednecks yellow phones. Just go past the phones to where the platform meets
the roof (thanks to Pete Zsolnay for this info).
HEALTH
Usefulness: 3 Difficulty: 2
Returns your health to full. There are easier ways to get this, but
this way can still be useful.
INVISIBILITY
Usefulness: 1 Difficulty: 2
Makes you invisible for a very short period of time. Rarely seems to
work unfortunately.
INVULNERABILITY
Usefulness: 2 Difficulty: 3/2/-
Nothing can kill you for 30 seconds, which is nowhere near long
enough.
Gang Respect
Usefulness: 4 Difficulty: 5
Pick up one of these when if you get arrested or killed on a job and
restores your gang respect. This is very difficult to get. (Thanks
to Yoshi021919 for telling me this).
That's it. Thanks for reading and enjoy your car crushin'.
