I am Samcan. My most favourite of RPGs is Spiderweb Software's Avernum,
Geneforge and Avadon series plus Nethergate. I hope you find the game guide
information in this FAQ good to digest and aid you in your gameplay. If there's
anything I missed feel free to bring it up in the Board of this game.
Constructive criticism, complements and commentary are welcome. Nuf said, let's
begin the FAQ.
2.) About this FAQ
This FAQ focuses on the types of creatures that appear in Geneforge. That
includes what family they group in, their names, their total HP, details about
their abitilies and the items they drop when killed. This does not include the
names of any Serviles, Drayks or other creatures that you talk with. However
you will find unique monsters like Rawbone listed in a separate section. The
only creatures that are not listed are the Mind Servants which cannot be
battled in this game and your own creations which are listed on a separate
guide.
What isn't included in the FAQ are the damage ranges of those creatures, the
number of action points those creatures have, their dexterity or the
location(s) you can find those creatures.
I thoroughly studied the creature drops, but there is a high probability, I
missed out on a number of drops. I also missed out on a number of creature
abilities. If anyone wants to fill me in, do so in the Board of this game and
provide references if you can.
3.) Hints and Tips
* Most creatures have Melee Attack abilities. Some of those attacks have
effects such as a Glaahk's stun touch. Stationary creatures being the turrets,
spawners and pylons do not have a melee attack capability.
* Some of those creatures are not necessarily hostile. Some (like the Ornks)
are neutral and occasionally there are friendly creatures (such as Tamed Fyora).
* Be sure to familiarise yourself with the creatures, because if they are new
to you they could catch you off guard with devastating attacks.
* A number of creatures share the same names, but have noticeably different
health points and sometimes attack abilties and appearances, so keep an eye on
the number that comes after the name.
* The drops mentioned are not guaranteed, but may appear randomly. There are
exceptions for unique enemies such as the Student's Belt dropped by Rawbone.
