Hi, chances are you have the shareware version of this game - you do -
because thats the first place you would have played this Arcade remake, and
the fact that you must order over the net, with links in the shareware version
etc. Anyways this game is'nt easy... as I found, and nither is it new, but it
is fun, so hopefully this guide will improve gameplay and make you get more
from the shareware version, before you decide to purchase the full game. All
of the information is applicable to the full version as far as level 6.

As per game:
"You are a test pilot flying the RaptorX prototype for the Terran
fleet. The RaptorX is a state-of-the-art design, which all enemies
fear. The enemy Xidus Armada recently discovered the bay where
the Raptor's were stored, and quickly launched a surprise attack
upon your fleet. All the Raptor's were destroyed, except for a few
pilots testing the newly designed RaptorX prototype at the time of
the attack. It is up to you to save the rest of the Terran fleet. It
won't be easy though- the Xidus Armada has built a Demon Star
Base ship. Do you have what it takes to seek out and destroy the
Demon Star, and conquer the Armada fleet?"

-=How to Play=-

Key to the game is to work your way through the levels, while destroying the
Boss at the end of each. Pick up bonuses along the way to increase your
firepower to help you advance through the levels, while scoring as many points
as possible. After upgrading your shot, pick up the same color to increase the
power and ray of beam of that particular shot. If you accidentally pick up
another color after multiple upgrades, it will downgrade your shot to the
weakest shot of that color.

------------------------[ 2.3 - Power Up's/Items ]----------------------------
                        ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Power-Up's are anything that repairs your ship or makes it more powerful.
The following are power-up's which will make your missions easier to
accomplish and/or score you more points, as you can see Mountain Lion - the
creaters, have a very good imagination! After some items it says you can
upgrade so many times, this means the item/weapon will get more powerful each
time you get the same item... until you get it a certain number of times,
which will then revert to its original level of power... not to nice.

- Medals            - These are worth 1000 points each.
- Proton Laser      - Fires a wide spray of lasers, can be upgraded 6 times.
- Ion Cannon        - Fires ion beams at your target, can be upgraded 6 times.
- Plasma Cannon     - Shoots a single beam of plasma at a high rate, can be
                     upgraded 6 times.
- Magnetic Pulse    - Very rare, this weapon shoots magnetic Pulses that home
in on target. can be upgraded 6 times.
- Full Power        - Powers up your main weapon to the maximum level.(6).
- Mega Bomb         - Huge explosion will blow up most ships with one hit and
                     severely damage others.
- Scatter Bomb      - Many scattered explosions stun the enemy.
- Mega Pulses       - Shoots laser type weapon for a few seconds.
- Missiles          - Powerful shots fired directly at the enemy.
- Homing Missiles   - Shots that lock on to your enemy's moves.
- Crystal           - Increases your shield one point.
- Energy            - Increases your shield to the maximum.
- Side Shooter      - Fires shots from the side of the ship. This shot can be
                     upgraded 3 times.
- Rear Shooter      - Fires shots from the rear of the ship. This shot can be
                     upgraded 3 times.

----------------[ 2.5 - Walkthrough (Demo/Shareware Version) ]----------------
                ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In fairness this is game because of its arcade style does'nt need a full blown
walkthrough as it repeats itself. So I have written a guide to the first two
levels that will not only help you pass the first few levels but give useful
tips for the entire game.

-=Level 1=-

At the start of this level you will see your ship for the first time etc., so
theres a few pointers worth nothing for flying it; 1# Don't waste your bombs,
they are released when you press [SPACEBAR] (when using the keyboard as the
controller) and are there hugh energy is only really best used against the
Boss, so don't waste em'. 2# Never take your hands off the keys (for rest
etc.,) because it is vital you are able to dodge astorids in a small time
frame. 3# Enjoy!
Now that you are a capable driver of your new spaceship, here is a few tips
on making your way through the first level (a basic and fearly easy level by
most standards.)
You will probably find the first few (small, weak) enemys easy - as is the
norm in this level, but once you get as far as the astorid storm things
change, you must know change your aim from, kill to survive - as it is not
as easy to carry on shooting, I would even go as far as to stop shooting all
togeather and just dodge astorids on my first turn, but of course you will
eventually be able to cope well with doing two things at once.
Once you have got through the numerouce astorid storms you will encounter
several mounted guns on a light grey frame, these are dangerous to leave
standing as, if you pass one without destroying it, it can rotate and shoot
you, a thing no other enemy can do and you cannot defend against.
You will soon start to encounter larger enemys, which may take a bit more
firepower, but are easier in general than the swarms of smaller enemys.
After this you will meet the boss, weak by the whole games standards, but it
still takes a while to kill the boss, unless you use the several bombs you
started with or collected through the game.

-=Level 2=-

Firstly you encounter a few small brown enemys. These are no problem to kill,
its just that theres so many of them - so moving on you will meet a large grey
ship and several "spiked" enemys. These will take a while to nogotiate.
Later you will meet a few waves of red ones and then three waves of heavy
arson ones, these are tricky, so be careful. Shortly you will be flying over
pipelines, destroy these, and again the brown ships will appear. Destroy them.
Soon hugh red and white bird like planes will appear, they will shoot an
asortment of weapons, destroy all of them. These planes will be followed
closely by two ground defence units, which are very powerful.
You will soon see two satellite stations, destroy them and and grounded enemy
planes at the "airport".After this, an array of heavy duty ground units will
open fire on you, kill them.
Finally a hugh mother ship will appear, destroy it (it takes time,) and thats
the level complete.
                               ______________
-------------------------------[ 2.6 - Enemys ]-------------------------------
                               ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Well I obviously I can't actually profile all the enemys because firstly
theres so many and secondly there too hard to define. So instead heres a few
general tips for destroying them.

o Concentrate on small enemys first, they are quick kills, deliver points and
are the ones that generally cause the most trouble.

o Large enemys generally contain power-ups, so if you have a week gun, target
these until you've a stronger one.

o Bosses/Motherships generally take a long time to kill, but there shooting
habits are routine, e.g. they might firstly shoot bullets diagnoly, then
straight and then shoot a laser. So after one run of there routine you
should not get hit even once if you are paying attention.
                                _____________
