No fancy story here, I just wanted to make an inventory cheat to be sure I
hadn't missed anything in the game, and to make it easier to get screenshots
and such from later stages in the game. These are my notes. More info on
the game can be found on KingMike's page (above) and mine
(

These cheats are verified to work in Nesten (
http://tnse.zophar.net) and FCE
Ultra (
http://fceultra.sourceforge.net/). I'm not aware of any other
Nintendo emulators that support this form of hacking/cheating, and while it
would certainly be possible to create Game Genie codes that would produce
the same effects using this info, I personally don't have the knowlage to
do so.
Anyways, I'm assuming that you already know where to enter address
locations, values, and such on your emulator. If you don't, check your
emu's readme.
Address $00D6 is your character's equipped item, and $00D7 through $00E0
is your inventory. Don't forget that this is in hex. If you have
something in the slot that you're tinkering with, it will get deleted,
though of course you can always hack it back in. The values below are all
for level 1 items. Add 32 to the value to get the next level up. 8 is the
max level, adding 224 to these base values will make give you that item at
its max level. Value 255, which should give you a level 8 Bag, is actually
the blank space used when you don't have an item in that slot. I don't think
that you can get a level 8 Bag, but AFAIK, that item doesn't do anything
anyway. It doesn't look like there aren't any dummied out items in there,
though I imagine it'd be near impossible to get some of the high level items
through normal gameplay (like level 8 Life Water.)
And as a little bonus, address $00C2 is your HP total. Freeze it to become
nearly invincible. If you take a hit that would do more damage than your
frozen total (you freeze the value at 5, and take a 6 point hit,) you'll
still die, even with the value frozen. Don't try and give yourself more HP
than your level will allow, or you'll also die.
