I. Introduction
Hello, this is Gruel again folks, with another one of his wrestling FAQs at
your disposal, this time for the NES classic, WWF Wrestlemania Challenge(I did
the ascii art at the beginning all by myself!) Any ways, I'm using a slightly
altered format that I use now than for my old FAQs such as the combination of
tildays and hyphens to separate sections and it's the first time I ever used
Ascii art. Any ways, all feedback, suggestions, etc. are welcomed by emailing
them to
[email protected]

II. My Own Review for the Game
Just a quick note: I wrote this review back during the GameFAQs review contest
in August '99, it uses a format that I don't even use anymore, and is not even
as in depth or detailed as my current reviews, I usually don't revise them, but
for this FAQ, I fixed all the spelling and grammatical errors. Now onto the
review!
Graphics: 8: You had a unique diamond view of the ring(the only other wrestling
game to do this was WCW Superbrawl Wrestling for Super NES and Geneseis), and
the wrestlers were detailed nicely and looked like their real life
counterparts.
Sound: 8: This was a cool part of the game, the game would play the wrestlers
music of whoever was in the ring, and if a wrestler tagged out his partner's
music would play that wrestlers music. It added some glitz to the game.
Gameplay: 8: This game featured some finishers for some of the wrestlers, but
not all. The game featured a nice variety of modes at the time: Singles,
Singles Championship, Tag Team, Tag Team Championship, and Survivor
Series(3-on-3 elimination for this game, not 4-on-4) The game featured 9
wrestlers: "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, The Big Boss Man, Brutus "The Barber"
Beefcake, Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, "Macho King" Randy Savage, and
"Ravishing" Rick Rude, plus a fake wrestler labeled as "Yourself."
Replay Value: 7: What made me stick to this game was the 2-player tag team
champioship mode, and doing 2-player survivor series mode. I always enjoyed
beating my little brother in this game.
Overall: 8: This was one good wrestling game for the NES; a few more wrestlers
would've been nice. There are plenty of moves for each wrestler. I would
reccomend this game to any old NES gamers.

IV. Game Modes of Play
ONE Player vs. COMPUTER
--1. Eight Man Tournament
Just your regular championship mode here where you have to take on all 8 WWF
superstars in the game to become to become WWF Champion
--2. One on One
Go in a basic, exhibition, singles battle
--3. Tag Team
Go 2-on-2 where you pick a partner and go against the computer with tag team
rules
--4. Survivor Series
This is not like the Survivor Series elimination matches at the Survivor
Series where it's a 4-on-4 elimination match, but it's 3-on-3 instead, where if
one member of a team is pinned, dq'd, or counted out, it becomes 3-on-2, a
handicap match, and continue until all the members of one team is eliminated
PLAYER vs. PLAYER
--1. One-on-One
2 people go against each other in singles action
--2. Tag Team
2 people go against each others in a tag team match
--3. 2 people control 2 teams of 3 with Survivor Series rules
TWO PLAYERS vs. Computer
--1. Tag Team Tournament
Here you and a friend take on 4 duos of WWF athletes to become the WWF tag
team champs!
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
V. Strategy
How to and not to get DQ'd
--Whenever you call in your computer opponent(see the codes section) or
whenever your human partner decides to run in for you, a bell count will start,
once it gets to 10 and if your wrestler does not return outside the ring, your
team will be DQ'd or your partner will be eliminated in the match up. But
occasionally, the computer partner's run in too, the illegal man will be
flashing in the ring, so just beat up him up the whole time until he gets DQ'd,
easy win/elimination, just make sure it doesn't happen to your buddy
Don't have Andre go out
--Whatever you do, if you're wrestling as Andre the Giant, do not move him out
of the ring, because he does not go back into the ring, I dunno if this is a
glitch or not, but this is an easy to get him counted out, and the computer
never/rarely goes out of the ring with him
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
