GAME PLAY/CONTROLS
-------------
Lake Overview
-------------
-In this screen you move you boat around the lake to different points.
-To select the point you wish to fish press the A button.
-----------------------
Casting/Fighting Screen
-----------------------
-When you select a point on the Lake overview screen you will go to
the casting screen.
-Move the + with the D-pad to aim your cast. (Don't go to far right or left
with you cast or you will lose your lure.)
-Press the A button once to start the Power Meter, located at the bottom
of the screen. When the power meter is full press A again for the longest
cast possible.
-When in the casting screen, A reels in line, A+B reels the line in all the
way.
-Once the lure hits the water you will be able to present your bait. To do
so press the A button to reel line in and <-- and --> on the D-pad to move
the lure/rod left and right. If the a fish likes the way you present the
bait, it will come into the screen and hit the lure.
-When a fish hits the lure the fight begins. Use the A button to reel in line
and the <-- and --> on the D-pad to move the fish/rod and avoid obsticles
like rocks and weeds that will get you stuck.
-When fighting a fish, pay close attention to the "Depth Meter" at the bottom
of the screen, Try not to let the fish take the line very deep. When
you hear "tink tink tink" noise quit reeling or you will end up breaking the
line.
-There is also an "Endurance" meter for the fish at the bottom left of the
screen. As the fish tires the picture of the fish in the bottom left will
turn from a whole fish into just bones. <'(((((>{ -- <'-I-I-I-{
Once you wear the fish out you can bring him to the boat easily.
-To land the fish you will need to bring it to the very center of the bottom
of the screen, you will automatically get the fish in your net.
TIP: When your presenting your lure at the casting screen and you get alot of
"The fish goes away", make sure you use a very consistent retrieve for
the lure. If you change the retrieve as the fish approaches, it will
almost always go away. The retrieve I have foud to work the best is a:
A, left, right, A, left, right, A, left, right, slow steady retrieve.
-----------
Menu Screen
-----------
-After you cast and reel in your line you will be taken to the Menu Screen.
-If you catch a fish you will go to a screen that shows you the type of fish
you caught and how much it weighs, remember, only Black Bass count toward
your total weight for the day.
-At the Menu Screen the options are:
SELECT LURE: In this screen you can change you lure or lure color.
DATA FOR THIS POINT: Gives you a tip about the spot you are fishing and
also gives you the weather conditions.
YOUR RESULTS SO FAR TODAY: Basically its your livewell, see how many
fish you've caught and the average weight.
MOVE: Select this option to return to the Lake Overview screen and pick
a new spot.
END: Select this option if you want to quit the game or go straight to
the ceremony to get your code. You can also look at your overall
career ranking, see what you class is and see your record bass.
(Note: You want to catch several bass, but do not catch to many small
bass (1-2lb) as this will lower your average weight. It is important
that you have a good number of large bass if you want to advance your
rank in the tournement.)
----------
Fish Types
----------
-Black Bass:
The #1 sought after freshwater game fish, this includes largemouth
and smallmouth bass. These are the only fish that count towards
your record. You'll know its a Bass when you hook it by the green head.
-Brown Trout:
You'll know these by the dark brown head when they strike, I'd suggest
you just try and avoid them. These fish get big, so watch out, they can
easily snag your lure.
-Rainbow Trout:
These look just like the brown trout when they bite. There are some
monsterous trout in the lakes, kiss you lure good by if you hook into
one.
-Pike:
There are also ton's of pike in the lakes. You'll know them when they
bite by their orangish heads. As with any other non-bass, they will not
help your record so just avoid them.

*=Good Spots (1: Muddy water/weeds, 2: Near a sandy beach, 3: Rocks)
-My tip: The bass beside the little island are usually small but abundant
if you fish the other two spots maked with *, you will probably
hook into a few bass that go 4lb+. Red Pencil works best, use a
smooth motion of A, left, right, A, left, right when presenting
the lure.

*=Good Spots
(1, Dock with reeds in water: 2, Tree, weeds: 3, Reeds, rocks, pilings)
-My Tip: If you can catch about 5-10 bass with an average of 6lbs you should
win the tournement for this lake. Spot #2 produced the most 7+lb
bass for me. The red pencil bait produce most of my fish, using the
A, left, right, A, left, right, retrieve.
---------
More Lake
---------
-Win the class B tournement on Japan Lake and you will advance to the A
tournement on More Lake. Also, this is the first time you will have
access to all lure types.

*=Good Spots
(1: Rocks, 2: Creek inlet)
-My Tip: There are lots of big bass in this lake, all you've got to do is
catch them! There are usually big bass in the creek inlet at the
North end of the lake. The rocky areas also produce nice bass. As
Usual, the pencil bait produces fish, the plastic worm is also a
very good bait to catch bass. The bass in here are big, so your
going to have to wear them out as best you can. Try to get them
hooked as near to the boat as possible, it can be very hard to bring
a big one in from the end of a long cast. If you made it this far,
you can do rest. GOOD LUCK!
