1. Introduction:

Hello everyone, this is my first guide, of Captain Tsubasa 1.

In this guide I will mention strategies, tricks and codes. I
hope this guide has everything you need to see.

About the game, Captain Tsubasa, it was created in 1988
by the company Tecmo for the Nintendo (NES / Famicom) and
it tells the story of Tsubasa Ozora, who will go for the championship
with his national team, Nankatsu. After that he will face
the different teams in the world as part of the Japanese selection.

2. Controls and Commands:

Controls:
##########

Directional pad: Allows you to choose your plays and move
your players around the field.

Button A: Mainly used to accept the plays
you have previously chosen with the directional pad.

This button also allows us to quickly move animations,
in addition to starting the games.

B button: Allows you to pause during the game so that
you can choose your moves with the directional pad. This button
also allows you to rechoose any command if you chose
previously erroneously.

Select button: Allows you to select one of two options on the
start menu: Kick Off and Continue.

Start button: Allows you move from the intro to the
start menu. Also allows you to accept the option
you have selected in the start menu. During the players' meeting
before a game, this button will allow you
see the guts (units of energy) and skills of your players.

Start menu:

Kick Off: Allows access to the story mode.

Continue: Allows you to continue the game from where you were
using a password. When you choose this option, a
screen with the Japanese alphabet appears, with which you
form a key that makes you continue the game from where you
have been. The order of the letters is as follows:

Main menu:

This menu will appear at the players' meeting before a
game.

> Information:

This option gives you a short piece information about the opponent.

> Memo:

This option gives you the password of the game you're playing,
to have the opportunity to play another time.

> Starting Members:

Starting members is an option only available when
you use the Japanese team, which has several
options which allow you to make modifications to
your lineup. Once you've entered this option,
you can see the list of your starters and substitutes,
which we can arrange at will with three options.
They're located in the center-top of the screen, and they are:

A) Change:

Allows you to make changes in your lineup. The position of each
player is shown on a field graphic that ison the center-bottom
of the screen. You can only make three changes in a game.

B) Undo:

Cancels any changes you have made.

C) End:

Exit Team Data.

> Start the match:

This option allows you to start the game.

During the game:

During the game, you can only see a picture of a ball,
which represents the player with the ball.

Basic movements:
-------------------------------

A) player with possession of the ball (Free or marked)

Pass: "Left"

Allows you to direct the ball to any player on your team
you want.

Combi Play: "Down"

This move can only be done with Tsubasa and Misaki when
you use the Japanese team, so you must have both of them
on the pitch.

To perform this technique, you should let Tsubasa or Misaki be
marked by the opposing team. Then, when you press
"down", the name of this technique appears, which
allows you to lose your markers with ease
with a one-two.

Dribble: "Up"

If you are marked by one or more players of the opposing team
this command allows you to dribble past those players.
If you are unmarked, this command allows your player to
continue moving around the field.

Shoot: "Right"

Allows you to make a shot towards goal.

If the shot is made in your own half, then
the ball won't reach the goal. For this reason, all
shots must be done in the opponent's half if
you want to get good results.

It costs 80 guts to use a normal shot at the goal.

Note: Special shots always reach the goal regardless
of where you use them.

B) Marking a rival player

Tackle: "Up"

Allows you to take the ball from an opponent with a tackle.

Pass cut: "Left"

Allows you to intercept a pass that an opponent uses.

Mark: "Right"

Allows you to mark the opposing player.

Do not move: "Down"

This option makes the opponent's continue his movement around the field,
whilst the marker doesn't lose their position.

At first, this move makes no sense whatsoever. But, if you let
the opponent keep moving, it's possible that you can mark him
with more players, and thus be more likely to take the ball.

This command also allows you to rest players
with insufficient guts.

C) Receiving the ball inside the opponent's area:

Pass: "Left"

Allows you to make a pass to any player on your team
you want.

Dribble: "Up"

Allows you to trap the ball for further play on the ground.

Shoot: "Right"

Allows you to perform an air shot on the goal.

You need 80 guts to make a normal shot on the goal.

E) Goalkeeper:

Catch: "Left / Right"

Allows you to catch the ball with your hands.

Punch: "Up"

Allows you to clear the ball with your fists.

The clearance might not necessarily fall to your players,
as there is also the possibility that it falls to
the opposing team. However, punching the ball is usually
safer than trying to catch the ball.

[Sankakutobi]: "Down" (Ken Wakashimazu)

Ken Wakashimazu's special technique that involves jumping from
one of the goalposts to have a greater chance to reach a shot.

You need 200 guts to perform this technique successfully, because
if you have less than that, it will become much weaker.

Halftime:
###########################

A) Want to make changes?

This menu appears at halftime, which has two options. The
first, 'Yes', with which you can enter the starting members
menu to make changes in our lineup, while the second is 'No',
which obviously keeps your team as it is.

Once you have finished making changes, or if you chose
'No', then a new menu appears called
'Who do you choose?', in which you can choose one of
your players from your team to make a speech
for the team.

To choose the player that you want, you just have to use
left or right then press the A button once you have chosen
the player you want.

B) Penalty Kick:

When you have a penalty shootout one
menu will appear on the screen called
'Choose your 5 players for penalties'
in which, from the list of your players, you
have to choose five players for penalty kicks.

Once you have chosen the five players you can see
at the bottom of the screen a menu called
'Where do you shoot?'.

This allows you to choose between two directions
to direct your shot. After choosing the direction,
simply press the A button.

The options are:

Left: "Left"

Allows you to kick to the left.

Right: "Right"

Allows you to kick right.

When the other team shoots, then the menu appears
'Where do you jump?'.

The menu options are the same as
those of the 'Where do you kick?' menu.

Left: "Left"

Allows you to jump left.

Right: "Right"

Allows you to jump to the right.

3. Walkthrough:
***************

First of all, the biggest problem in this
game is that you cannot see your rivals on the field.
So, in general, for all the games we have to view
where our players are located, and the other team. That
is done by pressing the B button and choosing "pass". After,
you move it where there are fewer players around, or
quickly we move the ball with a pass if they're close to you.
This way, you avoid the opponent marking you.

That's when we have the ball. When
they have it, we can not see our players on the field.
You have to blindly choose the direction you want to move your players
when chasing the ball on the field, preferably in the direction the
opposing player is moving. That way, you can mark the opponent.
You can also try and move in the opposite direction the opponent
is moving. However, you can't do much if the other team prefers to play
passes more often.

On the attack, I recommend you try to play down the
wings, because it is where opposing players mark you least,
which will allow us to move more smoothly.
Don't forget to check the location of your players and the
opponents as explained above.
Taki has the second best dribble, and while it can
beat the normal players, you shouldn't rely on it
too much.
Izawa and Taki are the players who, after Tsubasa,
have the best passes, so you have to base
your attack around these players.
Tsubasa is the player with the highest skills,
far exceeding Izawa and Taki, but you can't make him
do everything, otherwise he'll get work out and you'll
have serious problems.
When Tsubasa gets to level 3, he will get a special shot called
Drive Shoot.
Morisaki is a weak keeper, don't rely heavily on him.
However, on more than one occasion he may stop a few shots from
normal players of the opposing teams.
Your defense is relatively efficient with Ishizaki and Takasugi,
but when you get the ball back, try to find the most skilled
players on your team safely, without much trouble.

Nankatsu Vs Nishikigaoka

Difficulty: Very Easy.
Best Players: None.

This is a team without stars, very easy to beat. Here you can
get used to the gameplay.
The shots Tsubasa makes usually end scoring,
but you can also attack with Izawa, Kisugi and
Taki with relative success.
To ensure you score a lot of goals, I recommend you always
make aerial shots.

Nankatsu Vs Minamiuwa

Difficulty: Easy.
Best Players: FW Minoru Takei
             MF Tetsuo Ishida

Minamiuwa is not good in defense, so your method of
attack remains the same as the previous game.
You must be very careful with the two star players of
Minamiuwa as they could cause you serious problems with
their shots, while if they mark you they're very
likely to steal the ball.

Nankatsu Vs Azumachi

Difficulty: Regular
Best Players: DF Makoto Soda
                     * Kamisori Shoot

This game will be a bit tricky at times since the
Azumachi star has a special shot called Kamisori Shoot,
which will be very difficult to stop.
To avoid any complications from now, it's best to only
use Tsubasa to score your goals.
Chances are that in this match, Tsubasa has the
Drive Shoot. This is mostly a waste of guts,
so just use aerial shots with him and only use
Drive Shoot in an extreme emergency.
Try to avoid being marked by Soda, else it's likely that
you'll lose possession of the ball.
Preferably, play down the wing because that's where you'll
find opposing players less.
Soda can stop Tsubasa's Drive Shoot, so if you're going to
use it, make sure that Soda is not in the shot's path.


Nankatsu Vs Hanawa
Difficulty: Hard
Best Players: FW Kazuo Tachibana
                 * Gemini Attack (+ Masao)
             * Twin Shoot (+ Masao)
             * Skylab Hurricane (+ Masao)
                     FW Masao Tachibana
                 * Gemini Attack (+ Kazuo)
             * Twin Shoot (+ Kazuo)
             * Skylab Hurricane (+ Kazuo)

In this match, you will face the air plays of the Tachibana
twins, which will be virtually impossible to stop.
What makes this a more difficult game than normal is that in
addition to the twins, Hanawa's other players will be able
to score.
To attack, it is best that you move down the wing and then
pass into the heart of the penalty area.
To score your goals, only use Tsubasa so you avoid an
unwanted counter-attack from the opponents.
Be careful not to waste guts from your star player because
then you might complicate the game. Only use air shots
and only in an extreme emergency use the Drive Shoot,
always ensuring that the path is relatively clear.

Nankatsu Vs Meiwahigashi

Difficulty: Easy.
Best Players: None

After the previous match this gives us a break since
Meiwa has no star you'd have problems to overcome.
I recommend you use only Tsubasa to score at the start and
when you've already taken a substantial advantage, use Kisugi,
Izawa or Taki. However be aware of the guts of your best
player and score goals with aerial shots. Only use
Drive Shoot inside the area as an emergency measure.


Nankatsu vs. Hirado

Difficulty: Difficult.
Best Players: DF Hiroshi Jito
             FW Mitsuru Sano
                     * Diving Head

To score goals, use only with Tsubasa, thus
avoiding an unwanted counter-attack.
Try to go forward by attacking on the wings, making
passes from time to time so the opposing team's players don't
mark you.
If you're going to use a Drive Shoot, do it as close to the goal
or far away, always ensuring that the path is clear.
Jito is a strong defender that can even stop Tsubasa's Drive
Shoot, so you have to prevent this player getting near any of
your players as he is a constant danger.

Nankatsu Vs Furano

Difficulty: Difficult.
Best Players: MF Hikaru Matsuyama
             * Eagle Shot
             * Overhead Kick

Furano's goalkeeper is a little hard to overcome. Score
goals using Tsubasa's Overhead Kick or the Drive
Shoot, which I suggest that you use as close as possible
to the goal.
Furano's attack usually end with Matsuyama, who will use
his Eagle Shot. Barring a miracle, it will be
impossible for our goalkeeper to stop. For that reason, you
should try to steal the ball fromthe opposing team before the
ball reaches the master of Furano.
Always attack down the wing and makes passes from time to time,
then play a center for Tsubasa while he is
in the penalty area.
Beware that if Matsuyama stands in the path of a
Drive Shoot you use from midfield, he can stop it.

Nankatsu vs. Toho

Difficulty: Very Hard.
Best Players: GK Ken Wakashimazu

             * Tiger Shot
             * Goin na Dribble
             * Overhead Kick
             * Diving Head

This match is the most difficult so far, most worthy of the
final.
Each attack Toho makes is lethal, making the game very tense
as you can only win by succeeding with every attack.
Always attack down the wing and do not hold the ball too long
with a player. Rather, he should do many passes, as I have
recommended in previous games.
Ken Wakashimazu is a very good keeper, but you can
use Drive Shoot to score if you use it from as close
as possible.
Hyuga's Tiger Shot is an unstoppable shot, so
try to recover the ball in midfield before Hyuga
can get the ball.
This game has a peculiarity, in that if you win the game
Nankatsu is crowned National Champion only.
But if you keep the match result a draw, even
after extra time, there will be no penalty shootout.
Thus, both finalists will share the glory.

Here, I place the Tachibana twins as forwards,
since their Skylab Twin Shoot is much more useful than Nitta's
Hayabusa Shoot.
I also decided to put Matsuyama in midfield so that you can
get a better marker in midfield.
Ishizaki has almost the same defensive skills as Matsuyama,
thus your defense is just as good.
Because Soda and Jito are very good players
defensively, consider them as central defenders
because most opposing players attack down the center.
In the second half, you can switch Nitta for Misugi, to have
a much better marker in the midfield and a greater attack.

Japan Vs Toho Institute

Difficulty: Easy.
Best Players: None.

A simple game where you can score with any particular shot
you use.
The only thing to worry about is not wasting Wakashimazu's
guts, because if he runs out of guts then he'll
become easy prey to the opposing team.
I suggest you use, in this match punches for clearing
shots performed on the ground, and only use the
Sankakutobi for aerial shots, thus not putting
the guts of your goalkeeper in vain.
When you finish this game, you have the ability to search for
Tarô Misaki so you can have him on the team.

If you got Taro Misaki, he will be in the list of substitutes

I decide to put Tsubasa and Misaki up front
along with Hyuuga in order to have more offensive aggression.
I place Hikaru Matsuyama as central midfielder to get a better
marker in midfield. In addition to the player can score
from long distance with his Eagle Shot.
The Tachibana brothers are placed as wingers as they
can also help the attack.
The defense remains the same, that is, Hiroshi Jito and
Makoto Soda as central defenders and Takasugi and
Ishizaki as full-backs.
Your second game is always against Uruguay or Italy, while
your fourth game is against Argentina or Uruguay. Depending
on who face in the qualifiers, you can know which
team you'll face in the quarterfinals - the team
of the three above you didn't play in the group stage.
The other two teams will be randomly selected from seven possible
teams - Malaysia, Canada, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, England and
Poland.

Japan vs Malaysia

Difficulty: Very Easy.
Best Players: None.

This game is quite easy because you won't have problems
scoring or getting the ball.
To score goals, just use a special shot in the opponent's
area.
As in the match against Toho Institute, I recommend you
punch shots that from the ground and only use Sankakutobi
for aerial shots.

Japan vs Canada

Difficulty: Very Easy.
Best Players: None.

The Canadian team, like Malaysia, has no players so
they will not cause any problems.
It's relatively easy to score goals, just enough
to use the large repertoire of special shots in your
team in the enemy area.
For shots from the opponent, just punch them away.
But if the opponent's attack is constant, use the
Sankakutobi you so that you avoid problems.

Japan vs Belgium

Difficulty: Very Easy.
Best Players: None.

The Belgian team is as weak as the Malaysian or Canadian team so
it will not be difficult to win.
On the attack, use your special shots inside
the area and you will not have any problem scoring a lot of goals
against the Belgian team.
When you mark them, you'll most likely recover the
ball quickly. Even if they get to shoot on your
goal, Wakashimazu can punch them away.
If the opponent's attack is too constant, it is better
to use the Sankakutobi.

Japan vs Spain

Difficulty: Easy.
Best Players: MF Argos

For this match, you must be careful with Argos' shots,
against which you must use the Sankakutobi. If not
you'll have problems throughout the match.
The shots of the other Spanish players can be
easily stopped by punching them, but if
the ball isn't coming back to you, avoid any
mishaps by using the Sankakutobi to prevent your
goalie from getting worn out.
To ensure you score goals you can use the Overhead Kick
(Misugi), Eagle Shot (Matsuyama), Skylab Twin Shoot (Tachibana
brothers), Drive Shoot (Tsubasa), Tiger Shot (Hyuuga) and Twin Shoot
(Tsubasa and Misaki).

Japan vs Portugal

Difficulty: Easy.
Best Players: FW Chalana

In the Portuguese team, the most dangerous player is Chalana, against
his shots you have to use the Sankakutobi with Wakashimazu.
With the other players just punch their shots away, but if you want to
avoid complications use the Sankakutobi against shots when the attack is
too constant.
However be aware of the guts of your goalkeeper, because
when he runs out of guts he is easy prey to any shot.
To score, simply use the best of our arsenal - the Overhead Kick (Misugi),
Eagle Shot (Matsuyama), Skylab Twin Shoot (Tachibana brothers), Drive
Shoot (Tsubasa), Tiger Shot (Hyuuga) and Twin Shoot (Tsubasa and Misaki).

Japan Vs England

Difficulty: Regular.
Best Players: DF Robson
                    FW Lineker

In this game you have to use Sankakutobi with
Wakashimazu for any type of shot so you
avoid trouble.
Take time to attack in a way that the guts of your
goalkeeper will last until the end of the game.
If you use Misaki in the team alongside Tsubasa,
you can use your Combi Play and so you can move
easily towards the goal.
You have to avoid Robson marking you, as it is very
difficult to pass him, so you'd better attack down the
wing, so you can avoid running into the tough English defender.
To score you can use the Overhead Kick (Misugi), Eagle Shot
(Matsuyama), Skylab Twin Shoot (Tachibana Brothers), Drive Shoot
(Tsubasa), Tiger Shot (Hyuuga) and Twin Shoot (Tsubasa and Misaki).

Japan vs Poland

Difficulty: Regular.
Best Players: FW Macher

The greatest danger in the Polish team is Macher.
He is extremely fast which will make marking him
hard work.
Usually any Polish player can score if you
try to catch or punch any of their shots, so use
the Sankakutobi with Wakashimazu for any enemy shot.
Be very careful because if Wakashimazu ,runs out of guts
he will be easy prey for any shot. Therefore I suggest you
do not rush when attacking and take your time, so that way
your goalkeeper can replenish his guts.
If you have Misaki, use him with Tsubasa
to move down the field with his Combi Play.
To score goals, you can use the Overhead Kick (Misugi)
Eagle Shot (Matsuyama), Skylab Twin Shoot (Tachibana Brothers)
Drive Shoot (Tsubasa), Tiger Shot (Hyuuga) and Twin Shoot (Tsubasa and
Misaki).

Japan vs Italy

Difficulty: Difficult.
Best Players: GK Gino Hernandez

This game is tough because Italy has an extremely good
goalkeeper who will be very difficult to score a goal against.
If you have obtained Taro Misaki, you can use him to
easily reach the Italian goal with Combi Play.
To score goals you can use the Drive Shoot, Tiger Shot, Twin
Shoot or, if you've already got it, the Neo Tiger Shot.
You may also seek to obtain the Drive Tiger Twin Shoot, using it
in time when Tsubasa and Hyuuga are aligned.
Keep in mind that if you try to punch a shot away it
will score easily, so it is best that you use the Sankakutobi.
When Wakashimazu runs out of guts he will be easy prey
for any enemy shot. Therefore I recommend that you take your
time attacking, thereby your goalkeeper can recover lost guts.

Japan vs Uruguay

Difficulty: Regular.
Best Players: MF Ramón Victorino

The Uruguayan team's attacks are quite good, so use
Sankakutobi with Wakashimazu for any shot that reaches your goal.
You must be careful with the guts of your goalkeeper so
take your time to attack when you have possession.
For this, it's most convenient to use the Combi Play with Tsubasa
or Misaki.
The Uruguayan goalkeeper is pretty average so Overhead Kick
(Misugi), Eagle Shot (Matsuyama), Skylab Twin Shot (Tachibana
Brothers), Drive Shoot (Tsubasa), Tiger Shot (Hyuuga),
Twin Shoot (Tsubasa and Misaki) and Neo Tiger Shot (Hyuuga) will be
your best weapons for this match.

Japan vs Argentina

Difficulty: Difficult.
Best Players: MF Juan Diaz
             * Drive Shoot
             * Overhead Kick
             * Diving Head
             FW Alan Pascal

The attacks of the Argentine team always end with Diaz.
However, don't think that the other players
could also score. You have to use the Sankakutobi
with Wakashimazu for any enemy shot, but be
careful not to wear your goalkeeper out because if he has
less than 200 guts, he'll be easy prey for the Argentine attack.
As in the game with Italy and Uruguay, it is advisable
you take your time to strike. For it, you can use the
Combi Play of Misaki and Tsubasa.
To score against the Argentine goalkeeper you can use the Overhead Kick
(Misugi), Eagle Shot (Matsuyama), Skylab Twin Shoot (Tachibana
Brothers), Drive Shoot (Tsubasa), Tiger Shot (Hyuuga), Twin Shoot
(Tsubasa and Misaki) and Neo Tiger Shot (Hyuuga).

Quarter finals:
------------------------

Japan Vs Uruguay / Argentina / Italy

In this part you will face whichever of the three teams
you didn't face in the group stage.

In this game, you will have in Genzo Wakabayashi on your team,
who is quite strong.
You have to decide if you want to play with Wakabayashi or not.
In the end it doesn't make much difference.
Wakabayashi can easily stop any shot that isn't from
Schneider, no problem. On the other hand, Wakashimazu can
stop any shot with his Sankakutobi. However, once he
run out of guts he'll be easy prey to any German player.
I usually use Wakashimazu personally, but if I see his
energy will not last for the second half, I change to
Wakabayashi.
Of the German players, only Schneider will be dangerous, others
will not be a problem. For this reason you must try to get the
ball before it reaches the excellent German.
The German goalkeeper is very powerful so your only option is
to be insistent with the Neo Tiger Shot of Hyuga or Twin
Shoot of Tsubasa and Misaki, as they are the best shots
that can score.
To reach the goal without complications, you just need to have
Misaki on the pitch to do his Combi Play with Tsubasa.
I recommend that in the second half you use Jun Misugi
as a central defender, as he has an extraordinary pass cut
stat with which he can stop even Schneider's Fire Shot.
Don't wear down Misugi's energy, when you get the ball with
him the pass quickly to another of your players so you may
take time to fully recover him.
Although it is a bit risky, we can also try to get the
Drive Tiger Twin Shoot, shooting when Tsubasa and

Diving Head: A header from 'halfway up'.
It costs 80 guts.

Goin na Dribble: A dribble exclusive to Hyuga where he uses his
physical strength to overcome the opponent.

Overhead Kick: A move known worldwide as "Chilean" or
"Chalaca". This is a shot that is executed when the ball is higher
than the head and the player has his back to goal.
It costs 80 guts.

Hayabusa Shoot: A fast shot, but without effect, which is done by
Nitta. It costs 200 guts.

Drive Shoot: A shot where the ball reaches a high
height and then suddenly swoops down. Used in
this game by Tsubasa and Diaz. It costs 200 guts.

Twin Shoot: A volley from two players where they hit the ball
at the same time and give it a vibratory motion. Used by
Tsubasa, Misaki and the Tachibana brothers. It costs 120 guts.

Gemini Attack: This a technique used by the Tachibana brothers
where both do a combination of passes to avoid opponents marking
them. This technique can only be seen when you face
Hanawa, but you cannot use it in the Japanese team.

Skylab Hurricane: In this play by the Tachibana brothers,
one brother uses his legs to push the other through the
air and header the ball. This technique can be
seen when you face Hanawa, and you can use in the
Japanese team if you put Jito in the team.
It costs 200 guts.

Skylab Twin Shoot: This spectacular play sees Jito use
his legs to drive the Tachibana brothers, who use a flying Twin
Shoot. It costs 200 guts.

Eagle Shot: A powerful long-range shot by Hikaru
Matsuyama where the ball travels along the ground. It costs 200 guts.

Kamisori Shoot: In this shot by Soda, the ball goes to the
side and then makes a sharp curve.
It costs 200 guts.

Tiger Shot: A shot by Hyuuga with high speed and strength.
It costs 300 guts.

Neo Tiger Shot: An improved version of Tiger Shot from Hyuga
with greater speed and force than its predecessor. To
get this shot, Hyuuga had to train with a black ball that was
three times heavier than a normal one. It costs 380 guts.

Sankakutobi: Save by Wakashimazu, where he jumps off one of
the goalposts to make it more likely to catch the
opponent's shot. It costs 200 guts.

Combi Play: Tsubasa and Misaki make a one-two to avoid the
opponents and move down the field.
It costs 60 guts.

Drive Tiger Twin Shoot: This shot is a combination of Tsubasa's
Drive Shoot and Hyuga's Tiger Shot. Along with the Neo Tiger
Shot and Fire Shot, this is one of the most powerful shots in
this game. It costs 250 guts.

Cannon Shoot: A shot made by the French striker Napoléon.
This shot is characterized by carrying a strong bullet effect
which makes it difficult to stop.

Eiffel Kôgeki: Pierre and Napoléon make a one-two to advance
easily down the field.

Slider Shoot: This shot is from the French captain Pierre. His Slider
Shoot has a similar effect to the Drive Shoot, difference is that with
the Slider Shoot the ball rises at a lower height and goes down with a
much more pronounced curve.

Fire Shot: This is a powerful shot by Karl-Heinz
Schneider. The Fire Shot is a shot which has a
tremendous strength and rotation, making the ball appear to
burn due to the friction.

After finishing the game against Toho Institute is a screen
where there is a drawing of a building which we will call
the hotel.

At the bottom of the screen you will see the first two options
is 'Yes', which makes you start searching for Tarô
Misaki, while the second is 'No', leaving the
search for later.

As you'll look for Taro Misaki, choose Yes.

After choosing Yes, four options are displayed:

1- What location?: This option will allow you to go to
somewhere in France to go in search of Misaki.

2- Ask, listen: When you choose this option there are
two more options will appear, 'Misaki' and 'Pierre'.
Both options will allow us to see cards of those players.

3- Search: This option lets you search the city that you choose in
'What location?'.

4- Leave: This option allows you to stop the search, to do it
at the end of another game.

This time we choose the option 'Search'. Now we'll choose the
location.

Now four options appear. Choose the second (Paris),
and the image of the team hotel changes to the image
of the Arc de Triomphe.

After, four options will appear again. Choose search,
two new options appear, which are:

1-Cursor: A cursor which brings up a place in which we
have an image for our search.

2-End: Allows you to exit the search menu.

This time, choose Cursor. After that ,place a cursor at the entrance of the
Arc de Triomphe and then press the A button. After, the two
previous options appear. Choose the second to go to the search menu.

Again, the four options which start appear.
We will choose the third (Montmartre). Once we have chosen, the image of
the Arc de Triomphe changes to the image of
stairs, where a person appears. Again, the four options at the start appear.

> Drive Twin Tiger Shoot:

To use this shot, the opponent's goalkeeper has to
catch or punch one of your shots at a time when
Tsubasa and Hyuga are near to each other, in the same
vertical line as each other.

Unlike later versions of the game, an animation will not
be displayed saying that you have it. Therefore, if you want to know
if you have the shot, then pass Tsubasa the ball to see if you have
a new shooting option.

You will only have four minutes to perform this shot, then
it simply disappears from Tsubasa's shooting options.

The probability that this shot displays is 1/8.

This is a powerful shot by Tsubasa and it costs 200 guts.

Note:
There's need to have a certain level for Tsubasa and Hyuuga
for this special move. Nor is it necessary to shoot many times
on goal for the shot, it's enough if you make a single
shot as long as you comply with what I said above.

Tips, advice and trivia:
#########################################

> Play with Jun Misugi:

Jun Misugi is a player who has really high skills.
However, we can not use him for an entire game.
If we do so, in the following game, his guts will be at zero
from the start.

The right thing to do is to play him alone for a long time without
abusing his excellent game.

Because of his high defensive stats, I think
his best position is centre back, but he can also
be quite useful as a midfielder or striker.

When he has the ball, it is better not
to keep it, just pass on to another player. Misugi can only
make about three or four plays, after that his guts
will go to zero.

Misugi's Overhead Kick is quite strong and can be used
against weak to intermediate goalkeepers, but keep in mind that Misugi
cannot do many offensive plays, else he runs out of guts.

> See levels, guts and skills of your players:

To see the level and skills of your players, simply
press the Start button at the meeting
before the game, or at halftime.

> Make combinations:

The only combination that can be used is the Combi Play of
Tsubasa and Misaki.

For this special combination, once you have obtained
Taro Misaki put him on the team with Tsubasa.

The combination will be available when Tsubasa or Misaki
marked by a player of the opposing team.

In that time, press "down" to select the play and then
press the A button to execute it.

For some reason, the Gemini Attack of the Tachibana twins which
you see in the Nankatsu Vs Hanawa match is not
available on the Japanese team.

> Go up two levels in one game:

This trick can be done only once, before the
Nankatsu Vs Azumachi game.

To achieve this, just score six goals with the player you
want to level up.

After finishing the match, the player will go up two levels.

You can perform this trick a second time if a player's level does not
rise after he rises two levels.

> Secret cutscenes:

After finishing the match Nankatsu vs. Toho, press the A button
when the question marks appear "?" during
conversations, and then press left or right
so you can see extra cutscenes. In total there are
three question marks.  Two appear when Tsubasa and Hyuuga
are on screen. The third appears when Sanae's face is on screen.

> Get Hyuga's Neo Tiger Shot:

Kojiro Hyuga's Neo Tiger Shot can be obtained from the second
game of the group stage of the junior tournament, which means to
say it is available from the third game with the
Japanese team.

To obtain this special shot, Hyuga's Tiger Shot
has to be saved several times in one game.

Hyuuga can score in the game, but it would be much better not
to because that could alter obtaining the new shot.

The result of the match is not important. You can
win, lose or draw the match. Hyuuga's level doesn't matter,
the only important thing is the condition I mentioned above.

If you did it right, after the match the image of a black ball
appears. This is related very much to the manga and anime,
where the coach Kira Kozou gives Hyuga a heavy ball in black
for him to train and get his Tiger Shot stronger.

The Neo Tiger Shot costs 380 guts.

Note:
In theory, you could also get the Neo Tiger Shot from the
Nankatsu vs. Toho game. However, you'd have to level up
often until Morisaki can stop the Tiger Shot.
Considering this, Hyuuga could also get the Neo
Tiger Shot from the Japan Vs Toho Institute match, although for this
you'd need a low level so that your Tiger Shot didn't work.

> Make the Skylab Twin Shoot in the Japanese team:

To use the Skylab Hurricane, you have to get
Jito in the team, thereby replacing Skylab Hurricane
with the Skylab Twin Shoot.

You should get this technique because in practice
the Skylab Twin Shoot is much stronger than
Skylab Hurricane.

> Take special dribbles:

The only special dribble the game is the Goin na Dribble, which is
only used by Kojiro Hyuuga who performs it by default. That
means it always appears without you having to do anything,
as if it were an ordinary dribble.

Through this special dribble Hyuuga can use your strength to knock
away all opponents who dare to mark it.

> Critical Shoot, Critical Head and Critical Volley:

These techniques appear randomly whenever you make a shot,
a header or volley, empowering them to the extent that they're
on the level of a special shot despite their simplicity.

> Critical Tackle:

This technique appears randomly whenever you make a tackle,
making it more powerful and therefore more effective.

> Critical Punch and Critical Catch:

This technique appears randomly and improves the punching and catching of our
goalkeeper, making them able to stop or clear certain shots that normally
would cause them problems.
