Well, this is my first FAQ and I wanted it on a game that wasn't a really
known game. That's why I did this on that game. Hope it helps you! Also, since
this is the first version of the FAQ. I won't say that it'll be updated regularly,
or as soon as I have other info in the game. E-mail is at the end of the FAQ

1. The Game
As you already guessed, this is a soccer game and it's on the NES. In the
game, you play as the Razors, who seek their run at the championship. They
have one of the best players in the world and also the son of a Soccer Legend.
His name is Robin Field. Well, first you need to learn how to play the game.
1.1 How to play
Control Pad : Direction of running
A button : Deciding an action
B Button : Brings up the sub-menu
Select an option with the control pad and confirm it with A. The character should
do the action and what follows depends on your character's abilities. Also,
when your player gets blocked by other team's player(s). You do the same thing.
The options are...
Sub-menu when standing in open field
Pass : Brings an overview of the field and 4 players to pass to, don't like the
players you can pass to? Well, press B and you'll be back to the sub-menu. Then
you can re-select pass until you get that single player you want
Drib : Makes you run
Shot : Depending on who you have, it'll be written shot and other things...I won't
spoil them to you
When blocking :
Wait : Says it all.....:-)
Mark : You block the player and he cannot do anything, that leaves him open for
a tack or a cut, but misses often
Cut : Cuts the pass, if the enemy doesn't pass, your player will run to him and
try to kick the ball away
Tack : Will tackle the opposing player, can take the ball, can kick it away. The
cpu decides
When you need to block a shot
Punch
Catch
Catch : Catches the ball, normally has a less chance of blocking than punch, but
if you succeed to catch the ball. You'll automatically send it to one of your
players. Also, the goalie may miss the catch and the results end up as a punch
Punch : When you punch the ball, you have a high % of punching it away but the
opposing team can still get their hands on the ball
When shooting with ball in air
Low : Volley Shot
Diving Head
High : Heading
Bicycle
Volley Shot : The guy jumps up and kicks the ball
Diving head : The guy dives and hits the ball with his head
Heading : The guy jumps up and hit the ball with his head
Bicycle : By far the most powerful normal move of the game, if you see this one
do it IMMEDIATELY!! It may take a lot of guts, but you'll be able to score a goal
nearly anytime!!! The guy jumps up, kicks the ball, and lands on his back
Also, I'll explain the "guts" system. Pretty easy, in fact, doing any moves in
TWCS takes guts points. From running to super shots. You can guess that when you
don't have any guts point left you're doomed huh? NO! You can still pass and run if
you are out of guts points. And they replenish a little at half-time. But not by much

2.The Teams
The Razors (I separated the players that needed some mention)
John, Alvan, James, Brook, Ralph, Robin, Kevin, Mark, Brett
Your team, the rookies. Simple, apart from Robin, Brook, Kevin, Brett and Ralph
they are all rookies, but the ones that I've mentioned will kick ass at one
thing if you level them up properly.
The Gems
No. 1 through 11
Those guys are pushovers, you'll beat them senseless every day of the week and
twice on Sundays.
The Roses
Jean and Eric
These two are the only people that should stand in your way, and if you lose against
this team you'll have to play back against the Gems to come challenge them again.
Jean is the guy that looks like Brook and Eric is a Generic face. They both have
abilities that surpasses their team. Block 'em with Brook or Robin
The Bombs
Simon
Here you'll be introduced to Super Shots. Like the Passion Shot for Simon, to beat
this team. Just be sure that Simon doesn't get the ball, he's on defense, so
that's pretty tough. Also, by the time you get here. I hope Robin'll have his
Super Shot or you're screwed. Unless you're a great tactician at Soccer, also, this
is a great place to build up levels, since if you lose, you don't have to play agaisnt
the Roses again!
The Frogs
Marco and Paolo
These Circus Freaks really can get on your nerves. They can do one of the best
abilities in the game, Return Pass. This gets on people's nerves alot. Even if they are
at each end of the field they can do it. It rids whoever had the ball of those who
were blocking him. They are not so tough except when they do their Super Shots.
Although the D-Acrobat shot is blocked since Nigel isn't in their team
The Rocks
There is no guy that is special in this team but they all have superior abilities at
passing. So you should pass too, if you want to beat those guys
The Zaps
Nigel and Peter
Those two aren't the best that I've seen, but they can pull out great combos,
one's a DF and the other one's a FW. The DF can pass anything, and he usually
goes for the whole field, passes to Peter, who makes a Diving Head or Header,
that usually goes straight into the net!
The Ninja
Roger
The Ninja are good at keeping the ball, but for the rest, they're average. Just
be sure to try to block a pass to Roger, since he'll probably Jet Shot his way
to the net, and score. Also, his Jet Shot isn't really good when from far, but
when near it nearly goes all the way.
The Seals
Eddie, Damon, Otto and Hans
Eddie's the first special character that is a goalie. He's excellent and you'll soon see
why. He can block Super Shots like no tomorrow. Damon is like Robin in your team,
he's really good. He has a Super Shot and a Super Drib. Very tough to actually
pass him when he's blocking you. If your players are leveled up enough, you'll
succeed eventually. Also, Eddie has different Punch anims, and with this,
comes the dreaded "Wolf Jump". This catch costs mucho Guts but it blocks ANYTHING!!!
Watch out for this! Also, the combo Otto-Hans-Damon really hurts, since Otto and Hans
are more souped up than the others. And Damon is the Nirvana of the enemies
2.2 The Tecmo World Cup
You've made it this far, and you should be warned of the challenges that'll
be ahead, also, you should know your team.
The Tops
Every player you've faced except the numbers, Karl, Elvis
This team is the best, and with it comes the combo that the Ponti Bros' could
not do since they were short one player...Nigel. The D-Acrobat is the best visual
shot in the game, and it's really powerful. If you put Marko, Paolo or Nigel on
the bench, you might as well put the others since their other moves suck. Also,
Karl's Powerful is a pathetic copy of Damon's Howling shot, so don't bother with it.
Cecil won't join you until the first match in the Tecmo Cup. So don't search for him on
the bench until you're at the Tecmo cup.
Seals
None
You have to play against the Seals again to train, actually, it's more of an
occasion to level up since you need to be quite souped up to win after this
match. The goalie sucks, and the rest of the players aren't as good as they
were. Replace James with Brook at every match
Poland Jr.
They have no special players
Poland is a balanced team, which can be quite frustrating at times since you
don't know what'll be the team's weakness, but here I come with the knowledge.
They have a hard time blocking Damon and his Howling Shot (hint hint). Don't do
any of the Double Shots, Acrobat, Double Acrobat since they tend to be blocked often
U.S.S.R Jr.
Jozef
The U.S.S.R is the toughest challenge you ever faced, nothing seems to faze
Jozef, but score once against him and he'll "lose his confidence"(even though
it's not said in the game, something I've noted) and his stats'll decrease
a little. Also, lose twice agaisnt this team and Damon'll learn another shot.
The "Blast Shot", the strongest shot in the game, after the "Sonic Shot"
Austria Jr.
Weber
Austria has one advantage, Weber is good at headers, nothing else. They're pushovers
like Poland and the Seals before them. A relief after the beating you certainly
got with U.S.S.R Jr.
Cameroon Jr.
Jawhar
Cameroon is a good team that you'll probably get your butt handed in bits. Jawhar
doesn't have a special shot, but his skills are unmatched. The rest of the team is
quite good too. So, don't worry if you lose, you'll have your chance against this
team later!
China Jr.
Son
Good defense, although Son isn't what I would call great, he's better than the
other players and really gets on people's nerves if you aren't leveled up enough.
Otherwise, they suck
Uruguay Jr.
Not sure
They are nothing special, you'd think that they're better but they aren't
Arabia Jr.
Olman, Yahya
Arabia Jr. is the other superpower in the prelims., you'll see that Olman's
Hyper Shot is stronger than yours, but it's ok, since you block it with a
Wolf Jump. Yahya-Olman combo devastates, since Olman ALWAYS does his super
shot when near the goal
Germany Jr.
Stefan and Franz
Another combo players, also they have both super shots and the "Rushing Wind"
which makes the same effect as the "Return Pass", also, Franz's Bear Smash is
one of the strongest super shots in the game. Combination play is primordial with
them, Cecil and Robin are good but the best would be Marko and Paolo, add Nigel
to make then regret the day they encountered you!
And now, the Boss team...
Brazil Jr.
Pedro, Jose, Ayrton, Arthur (I may have forgot some)
These guys are the cream of the crop, Arthur is an even better goalie than Jozef,
but you have another card up your sleeve...Lucas! He's recovered from his injury
and he's a goalie. He blows Eddie out of the water royally. You can block
Sonic Shots from Ayrton with him!. Ayrton is the kick ass player in this team
and with THE Sonic Shot, the one you tell your grandsons to beware(not really)
but it IS powerful and nearly the only thing that may pierce Lucas. After you
beat them, the game is finished!
(I hoped you could play in the World Cup with Terry Field but you can't, so
I'll live with it)
3. Places to level up
National Tournament
The Bombs are a good place to level up, so are the Rocks, they're easily
beaten, and if you lose to them you won't fall back a place
Tecmo Cup
Only the prelims are good to level up, since when you lose to Brazil Jr. you're
thrown back to Germany Jr., and if you lose to them you're thrown back to U.S.S.R Jr.
or Arabia Jr., depending on which team you beat in the Prelims.
4. Q & As
Q : How do you level the players up in Tecmo World Cup?
When the coach says a slew of names like this "Robin, Brook, Kevin.
You all have become a little better" or something like that, it means that
all of the persons that were mentioned went up a level. How to level up is
easy, but tough in the later matches. You have to pass, drib and shoot ALOT
with the player that you want to level up. The proof, I had Robin bicycle 2
times against the Gems and he went up in the first game.
