You are being challenged to let R.O.B. stack up the colored discs according to
the colored pattern on the screen. This exciting, strategically on a high
level, robot game can be played in four different ways: in the direct manner
you have to let R.O.B. stack up the colored discs according to a certain
pattern in as few moves as possible. In the memory method you can program a
maximum of one hundred robot movements to match the pattern on the screen with
the colored discs. Or you can play Bingo with one or two players and try to
battle the tedious opponents on the screen,
Unlike the other game featurung R.O.B., you MUST have the add-ons that came
with the game, including the discs, or else you cannot play this game at all.

SETTING UP R.O.B.
*****************
Turn R.O.B.'s switch to the 'on' position. Now R.O.B. will move automatically
and takes the starting position (arms apart, the body straight forward in the
highest position on the middle column). When R.O.B. doesn't take the starting
position, turn him off and back on again. Take note of the fact R.O.B. won't
work when the batteries are empty!
Click the two hands on the arms of R.O.B. Next, place the holders in the
connection points at the base of R.O.B.
Insert the Stack-up game cartridge in the base unit and turn the on/off switch
to 'on'.
Choose the test function from the game menu and point R.O.B.'s head to the
television set as described in R.O.B.'s manual (note. I don't have this manual
in my possession. HM.). R.O.B. now is ready to play Stack-up.
When playing with one player, use controller 1. When playing with two players,
use both controllers.
SELECT: This button moves professor Hector along the various choices when the
game selection menu is on screen. When pushed during a game this button
brings you back to the game selection menu. The select button doesn't
work when on the "round XX" screen.
START: If you have selected the game of choice it can be started with this
button. After you have finished a level en put the discs on their
original position, push the start button to count the score and enter
the next level. If you are done programming the memory, pushing the
start button will bring you to the speed selection. Push the start
button again to play the game from the memory.
D-PAD: The control pad is used for controlling professor Hector. The professor
can jump up, down, left and right, depending on your choice. On
controller 2 the control pad is used for controlling professor Vector.
A / B: When programming the memory, these buttons will be used for choosing
the instructions you want to program. The cursor moves to the right
when you push A and to the left when pushing B. If you play from the
memory or play bingo with one or two players, both the A and B buttons
act as a pause button. Push one of both buttons again to continue.

GAMES
*****
Test: Transmits a signal for adjusting R.O.B.'s eyes to the TV-screen.
Direct: The meaning of the game is to move the colored discs from the start
position into the position indicated on the screen in as little
movements and time as possible. Stack the discs on holder 3 (front of
R.O.B.) from bottom to top in the following order: green, yellow, blue,
white and red. The movements of R.O.B. are determined by the command
buttons on which professor Hector is jumping. R.O.B. can make 3 types
of movement: Grabbing and releasing of items; Lifting and lowering
items; Turning and carrying items to the left and to the right. Control
R.O.B. through the above mentioned commands and try to stack the discs
in as little movements as possible into the position as seen in the
right upper corner of the TV-screen. The faster you do this the more
bonus points you get. As soon as your ready with the stacking push the
start button to add up the score. Take the challenge and try again!
When you don't succeed, push the select or reset button and start
again.
Memory: This is an exciting game in which you have to program the memory how,
according to you, the discs can be taken from the start position to the
end position in as little movements as possible. The faster you find
out, the more bonus points you will get. When you are finished with
this, play from the memory to see if the programmed method works. Stack
the discs on holder 3 (front of R.O.B.) from bottom to top in the
following order: green, yellow, blue, white and red. The commands are
written in the row of empty buttons. Use the A and B button to move the
cursor to the desired command symbol. The command above the cursor can
be programmed by letting professor Hector jump on the memory button on
which the command has to be filled in. (there is a maximum of 100
buttons). Program the commands one by one into the memory buttons in
the order you think will equal the stack to the stack in the right
upper corner of the TV-screen. Use as little commands as possible and
execute them as soon as possible to score more points. When you are
ready program the "end" command into the last button or leave it empty.
After this push the start button. Now the speed selection will appear.
Again push the start button. Now professor Hector will, accompanied by
a tune, execute you program while R.O.B. will stack the discs into
their place.
If there is a difference between the movements of the professor and
R.O.B. during playback (meaning the professor is too fast or too slow
for R.O.B.), accordingly adjust professor Hector's speed. Push the
start button when you are ready programming the memory (professor
Hector stands on the "end" button or the empty button). Now the speed
indicator will appear. At the bottom of the screen you will see a speed
indicator. When pushing button A the scale will become smaller and the
professor will move slower. However, when pushing the B button, the
scale will become larger and the professor will move faster. Set
professor Hector's jumping speed with the help of the speed indicator.
Push the start button to begin replay. (when not pushing the start
button, after a certain time replay will begin automatically.)
The game will pause when pushing the A or B button during playing. If
the program did not work properly, push the select or reset button
and try again! When all discs are stacked correctly (and professor
Hector is standing on the "end" or empty button), push start again. The
latest score will be shown on screen. On to the next level!
Bingo: In the one-player game you have to move the colored discs from one
position to another without dropping a disc. But look out! because
Flipper and Spike are taking every opportunity to make this difficult
for you. Stack the discs on holder 3 at the front of R.O.B. in no
particular order (in this game the color order is not important). Start
choosing the right commands necessary for placing the discs on to their
position. Use professor Hector every time for filling out a row or
column of five buttons with commands, which will be executed by R.O.B.
(the commands appear sideways of the rows and columns, rows are
horizontal, columns vertical.) A row is finished when all buttons have
a darker color. The bugs Flipper and Spike will try to disturb your
plans. Flipper - jumps across the buttons because of which they will
change color. Spike - crawls over the keyboard. When the professor
bumps into one of the bugs, he will fly of the screen. After that he
will return in the restart position. When either button A or B is
pushed, the screen will scroll up and the game pauses. You can look at
the top of the screen for a reminder of the right order in which you
have to stack the discs. To collect more bonus points, try to stack
the discs in as little moves and time as possible. When a row and a
column are completed at the same time because you pushed a common
button, no command will be send to R.O.B. (both commands will blink).
Je can cancel this situation by making one of the commands incomplete,
next the other command will be executed. When all discs are stacked as
shown, you can push the A or B button to pause the game. If you push
the start button after this, the score will be calculated and shown on
the screen. On to the next level! When one of the discs has been
dropped, push the select or reset button to restart the game.
In 2-Player mode, the players battle against each other to look who can
stack the most discs on to their holder in five minutes. Place three
discs on holder 3 and one disc on to holders 2 and 4 in no particular
order. Both players try to complete rows and columns to send commands
to R.O.B. just like playing Bingo with one player. With this game only
the bug Spike appears, Flipper does not. If the professor bumps into
Spike he flies of the screen to appear again now blinking. When the
professor is blinking, he temporarily (about 20 seconds) moves at half
speed. During that time he can get past the other professor and Spike
without being thrown of screen. When both professors collide, the
professor who was not moving will be thrown of screen en start
blinking. When pushing buttons A or B on controller 1, the screen will
scroll up and the game will pause. If a row and a column are ready at
the same time, no command can be transmitted to R.O.B. and, just like
one player bingo, a button has to be changed first. Maximum playing
time is 5 minutes, try to get as much discs as possible in that time.
After all discs are stacked correctly you can get a score in the games Direct,
Memory and Bingo (1 Player) by pushing the start button (In 1 Player Bingo you
have to push the pause button first.)
10 x (par-step) + Bonus = Points
POINT = number of points
STEP = amount of commands transmitted by the professor
PAR = average amount of commands used to stack the discs
BONUS= extra points awarded for speed.
