Soreike! Anapanman is a fun board game for the Famicom, based on a cartoon by
the same name. It is relatively straightforward and simple to play, with no
complex features or obstacles to overcome. There are eight maps and a ninth
to unlock, and up to three human players can participate. It is a lot of fun,
albeit on the short side, but I would still recommend it!

Gameplay Modes
==============

New Game (ニューゲーム): Start a new game.
Password (パスワード): Enter a password to continue a previous game.
Sub Game (サブゲーム): Play any of the three subgames encountered in the
                      regular game.

=====================
Starting Off/Gameplay
=====================

When you start a new game, you first pick what map you want to play on (there
are eight of them; ones you completed are listed in color). After that, you
have to pick how many players will participate (ひとり - one, ふたり - two,
さんにん - three). You will then be asked to pick your character(s) out of
the three choices. They are all the same, so it doesn't really matter what
you pick. Once you are done with that, the players will be listed on the
score screen, but are moving around randomly. Press A to stop the spinning,
which will determine the order each character takes their turn. After that,
the game itself begins.

In the game itself, each player takes a turn, one at a time. The spinner has
the numbers 1-5 and another character's icon on it. Press A to stop it, and
you will move 1-5 spaces if you land on a number. If you hit the character
icon, you will play a round of RoShamBo (rock, paper, scissors). You will be
able to move ahead another 1-3 spaces, or will earn points. You can even
steal the item from your opponent if they are holding it!

As a side note, if an opponent stops on a space you are currently occupying,
you will lose up to 100 points.

============
Board Spaces
============

! Space: If you land on this space, you can play a mini-game of sorts against
        your opponent. It involves attacking the smaller enemies and making
        it safely to the other side. If successful, you have achieved a good
        shortcut!

Bingo: Designated by a blue space with small colored tiles on it, you play a
      round of bingo. There is a 3x3 grid with the middle space sometimes
      colored in, and you will have to stop the spinner on the right with a
      character's face to color in that spot on the grid. You will have five
      chances to stop the spinner. If you get three in a row, you will get
      some points (100, 150, then 300 points for three lines).

Card Matching: The blue "?" space will lead to a matching game. There are
              five cards on your side, facing away, and five cards on the
              other side. You will briefly be shown your own cards, and then
              the other character will walk and stop in front of a random
              card. You need to select your card that matches it to succeed.
              Match them all to earn some extra points! There is a variation
              of this game (designated by a pink "?" space), where all 10
              cards are face down and you need to pick two cards and match
              them. You can make three mistakes before you lose that game.
              You get 100 points for each pair made.

Item: Walk over the pink happy face spot and you will automatically collect
     an item. If you have this at the end of the game, you get an extra 1000
     points added to your score!

Magnifier: This game is under the pink magnifying glass space. You will be
          shown two pictures side by side. On the picture to the right,
          there are three differences from the left picture. Move the cursor
          to the sections with something different and press A to succeed.
          Find all three differences before time is up to win some points
          (100 points for each difference found).

Maze: Fall into a hole where you must navigate to a friendly character's
     picture before running out of time (shown as pink orbs on the bottom
     bar). Each character will tell you what your prize will be before the
     time starts, so you can decide what sort of prize you want (points, or
     moving a few more spaces on the map).

Springboard: If you land here, all of the players' icons will randomly spin.
            Press A to stop it, and you will be launched to that character's
            location (or stay in place if you select yourself).

====
Maps
====

Map 1: There are different paths you can take through the forest area, which
      seems to depend on what character you are playing as. One way can even
      lead to a shortcut to the Goal!

Map 2: Right at the starting area, there is a fork in the road. Each player
      that passes takes the alternate path, starting with the southern one.
      In the center area, if you walk across a switch on the ground, the
      bridges will switch around, meaning that the one with a gap will be in
      a different position, possibly hindering your progress. The northmost
      bridge is the shortcut. If you take the southeast path, a "!" space
      can help you cross the river, shaving some time off your journey.

Map 3: There are two sections on the map where the path splits into two. If a
      switch before it is hit, the paths will swap, making it so you have to
      go one way only. The switch is active each time a player passes over
      it. For the one right by the start, you will want the northbound path
      as a shortcut. There is another path split in the middle area to the
      north. Both switches on the map affect both of these crossings, so be
      careful!

Map 4: There is a switch near the start which will affect the path ahead,
      leading you to the right (the long way) or northward (the shortcut).
      In the middle area, there is a "!" space which will serve as a huge
      shortcut if necessary. If you don't get that middle shortcut, there is
      a switch that can affect the course you take further along the main
      path.

Map 5: On this icy course, there is a "!" space in the middle area, which can
      make for a very generous shortcut across the gap. Further along in the
      middle area, there is a switch which gives access to the lower area as
      a shortcut to the northeast section. Otherwise, you have to take an
      even longer path to the right.

Map 6: This course is very straightforward, with a minor shortcut in the
      southeast corner by way of a "!" space. Other than that, the course
      has no split paths or anything else to note.

Map 7: In the southwest area, there is a "!" space that can provide a small
      shortcut if you make it across. Towards the center area, there is a
      second "!" space which yields an even bigger shortcut across the lake
      portion.

Map 8: This course is also relatively straightforward, surprisingly enough.
      There is only one minor shortcut (via a "!" space), towards the end of
      the stage.

Special: This is the final stage of the game, and it is a LOT longer than any
        other course! There are plenty of switches that affect the different
        paths along the way, with only one real shortcut "!" space in the
        northern area. Towards the end, there are a lot of springboards,
        which can make things difficult if your opponent is far behind!
