Although there are only a few shops in this game, the fact that they don't tell
you what each item does, or by how much weapons and equipment increase (or
decrease) stats, makes shopping a little confusing. Hence, this FAQ.

Most towns have two shops: one that sells equipment and the other that sells
items. You will be shown who can equip a weapon or piece of armour when you
select to buy it (assuming you have enough cash). However, you won't be told
what kind of weapon/equipment it is, or shown the effect on your stats until
you equip it.
You can sell off any item for three quarters of its value, and that includes
things you've found, although you won't be permitted to sell certain
important items. You can only sell things at the item shop.
There are three classes of characters in the game:
- Hero, a male monk and the lead character (whom you name), and Toron, another
monk.
- Raichi, a female monk and spellcaster who uses some unique equipment.
- Warriors, who use different equipment from the rest and are only available
for a short time during the game.
Some weapons can be used as items to make a guaranteed attack, but none of
those stocked by the shops can be used in this way, hence the column: USE.
