RoboWarrior is easily one of the best games ever made for the NES. It's a pity
that a lot of people seem to dislike this game. Since most of this angst seems
to be based on misconceptions, such as thinking the Key is randomly place in
each period. Anyway, hopefully this full guide will raise the understanding and
acceptance of this terribly misunderstood game. Enjoy!

===============================================================================

RoboWarrior is a spin-off of Hudson Soft's "Bomberman" series. In fact, after
obtaining the publishing rights in America and Europe, Jaleco changed the
name of this game from "Bomber King" to "RoboWarrior". So if you are familiar
with the Bomberman series, you will understand what this game entails.

You play as a cyborg called ZED (Z-type Earth Defence), who has been rebooted
to defend an artificial planet called Altile. The planet has been invaded by
the Xantho Empire, who have turned it into a barren lifeless wasteland by
shutting down its Weather Control System. Your (ZED's) mission is to kill the
Xantho leader, Xur.

ZED can use bombs by pressing the B Button. Bombs cause massive amounts of
damage to enemies, and destroy all "temporary" blocks within one space of them.
However, bombs can also cause quite a lot of damage to ZED himself; so you must
flee every time you place a bomb.

You can only plant bombs as long as you have some in stock. You can get bombs
by either killing enemies and collecting the blue bomb they leave behind, or by
finding Super Bombs; which give you 10 bombs once collected. ZED can also
attack Xanthos by firing his lasers at them with a press of the A Button.

ZED's energy level will constantly deplete because he needs electricity to
function, since he is a cyborg. Being attacked simply speeds up this drain on
his energy. ZED can carry up to four reserve Life Pods, which will be used to
refill his energy level whenever it drops to zero. If it drops to zero while
he has no Life Pods in reserve, it's Game Over. ZED can recover energy either
by collecting Life Pods, using Energy Capsules, or by completing a period.
As your score increases, ZEDs "Level" will increase, which will make him take
less damage when attacked.

ZED will collect many Power-Ups during his journey to the "Regency". Some of
these items will automatically take effect once collected; others have to be
selected and then used, these are called the Special/Super Powers. To use a
Special/Super Power, press Select to open up the Menu. In the Menu, you can
either select a Power by hi-lighting it and pressing the A Button, or you can
close the Menu without selecting a Power by pressing B. Once you have selected
a Power, press the A Button to use it.

The game is split into many levels called "periods". To exit a period, you must
make your way to the last screen, and then find a Key in it which opens up the
exit. However, some periods will constantly loop, causing you to never be able
to reach the exit. The only way to stop these periods from looping is to
collect the Chalice, which is hidden in the period somewhere.

"Once one of the most stunning sights in the entire universe."
__________
|Period 1-1|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the first area, collect the two Super Bombs, a Missile and an Energy Capsule
and then head up. Shoot your Missile up the second column of trees to get a
much needed Candle. Now, spend your time killing Mecha-Birds and Deltoids in
the free space you've created, to stock up on lots of bombs. Bomb just above
the pinnacle of rocks that jut up from the bottom of the screen to find a cave.
Once in the underground passage, use your Candle and collect as many items as
you can. Remember where you entered, as the exit will be at that exact height.
Once you're back above ground, keep bombing your way to the right until you get
to a rock formation that looks like this:
               _
             _|_|
           _|_|
     _ _ _|_|
    |  _  |
    | |_| |  X
    |_ _ _|_
          |_|_
            |_|_
              |_|

X marks the location of the Chalice, so bomb the tree there to find it. Bomb
the wall to the left of the Chalice five times to open up the way to the Well
of Hope. Run into the water and you will double all of your Special Powers.
Anyway, continue bombing your way to the right.

After you go past a rock corridor created by a column of rock coming from the
top of the screen, and then a rock column coming from the bottom of the
screen. The top of the screen will be broken up into blocks. You want to bomb
the first full one, which is the sixth one just after the rock column coming
from the top of the screen. Head up through the gap it creates to enter the
Room of Idols (aka "Lions").

The many "Idol Rooms" of Altile are filled with Lion Statues. If you bomb the
right statues in these rooms, you will get a lot of cool items. But if you bomb
a wrong Statue, you will not be able to get any other items from the other
statues. Anyway, for this Room of Idols, bomb the right and left Lion statues.
You'll receive a Megaton Bomb and a Missile. Exit the room.

Your path is split up into six corridors by five rows of rock up ahead. Head
down the 2nd corridor from the top, the last tree you bomb along it will reveal
a Key to the exit of the "period".

At the end of every Level is an Item Shop which exchanges various Special/Super
Powers for Medals (Awards). You will most likely not have enough medals for any
thing at this stage of the game. So just exit it.

__________
|Period 2-1|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Bomb your way to the right. After heading through the first corridor, bomb
your way to the bottom of the screen, you'll get a Candle on the way and find
a passage to the underground. Once underground, use your Candle, collect a lot
of items, then resurface. Up ahead is a river, you can find a Life Vests in the
most southern end of the river bank. Use it if you want to be safe, but you can
always just quickly run over the river. Just after the river, you will see a
part of the top edge of the "period" cut-off as a block, Bomb it to find the
Room of Idols. Bomb all the Lion Statues and you'll get a Lamp, a Super
Bomb, and a Life Vest. Exit the room.

There is a barrier of rock blocking your way up ahead, bomb the fourth rock
down from the top of the screen three times to break through. It's in-line with
the beginning of the path to your right, in the forest. Once past the rock
barrier, keep to the top of the Period to find the Key to the exit. There is a
passage to the underground just below it.
__________
|Period 2-2|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This period is blanketed in complete darkness, so use the Lamp you found in
the Room of Idols in the last period. Once you use it, you'll be able to see
the entire period. Bomb the blocks in this first screen to find some Candles
and a passage to the underground. You'll also find a Life Vest just before the
wide waterway, so use it to cross the water safely.

Stay at the top of the level and head right. Once you get to a dead end, bomb
the third block down to continue. Once at the end of the stage, bomb the
"block" at the top edge of the screen to open the entrance to the Room of
Idols. Once in the Room of Idols, bomb the bottom left Lion, the bottom right
Lion, the top left Lion and the top middle Lion. You will receive 10000 Points,
a CrossFire, a Candle, and a Megaton Bomb. Exit the room.

Bomb the blocks in the middle of the enclosed area to find the Key. The first
block in the line of blocks at the bottom of the screen reveals a passageway
to the underground once bombed. Anyway, once you resurface, exit this period.
If you have enough awards (unlikely) buy a Lamp.

__________
|Period 3-1|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Bomb the first block to the left; there is always a Missile there. Bomb into
the central row of pillars. Use Super Boots, then face to the right and use a
Missile on the middle row, then bolt to the right. Not only will you obliterate
an entire row of pillars; but you'll uncover lots of power ups and a passage
underground. After collecting lots of power ups and resurfacing. Head right and
bomb the mass of pillars ahead to find the Chalice, bomb the block to the right
three times to continue.

Bomb the loose block on the top edge of the screen just ahead to open the
entrance to the Room of Idols. In the Room of Idols, bomb only the middle and
right Lion's to get a Candle and a a Live Vest. Exit the Room of Idols.

Bomb the loose block on the left side of the square of pillars three times to
open it up. Bomb the pillars inside to find the Key in the middle, a Candle in
the top left corner, and a passageway in the bottom left corner. After doing
what you have to do, bomb the loose block to the right three times to continue
on to this period's exit.
__________
|Period 3-2|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This period is very barren compared to the last couple you've encountered. Head
right and enter the passageways along the way. Once underground, do as always;
use a Candle, collect lots of items, and then find the exit which is at the
same height as where you entered.

Eventually, you will make it to a river with stone walls on either side. Bomb
the block five "steps" up from the bottom of the screen three times to destroy
it. Use a Life Vest, and then bomb the loose block in the bottom right corner
of the river two times to destroy it. Now, walk up through the left most edge
of the waterfall up above to enter the Room of Idols. Bomb all three Lion
Statues to get a Flash, a Candle and a Super Bomb. Exit the room.

Soon you'll hit a wall of pillars. It may be a good idea to use some Missiles
to carve your way through them easily. The Key is in the far bottom right
corner of the period, three spaces up from the bottom edge. Exit the period.

G l o b u l a
-------------
Globula, Lord of the Amoebas; is a pretty easy end of level boss. Simply use
your CrossFire special power and then shoot away at it. The fire coming from
all directions will protect Zed from the amoeba's that separate from Globula.
You could also use a couple of Flashes if things get really hairy, or fire
a couple of Missiles at his core. Once dead, he will drop the Key to the exit.
-------------

This is your last chance to buy another Lamp for Period 4-2; so if you
haven't bought one already, pray to god you have 20 Medals (Awards). It doesn't
matter all that much though, since there is a Lamp in the next Room of
Idols. It's just good to have an extra one as back-up.

"At one time the Iron Hills were rich and prosperous."
__________
|Period 4-1|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This period is drenched in water, so you'll be using a lot of Life Vests.
At the beginning, bomb the blocks above you to get a Life Vest. You can safely
cross the river nearby without it if you run, but sometimes it's better to be
safe than sorry. Once over the river, bomb the blocks near the top of the
screen to uncover a passageway to the underground. Once you resurface, there is
a body of water enclosed within blocks ahead. Of the blocks around the water,
bomb the 2nd bottom block from the left four times to destroy it. Then use a
Life Vest and walk over the far right square of water to find a Well of Hope;
it kills all enemies on-screen and doubles the amount of Special Powers you
have in your inventory.

Bomb your way to the right. Up ahead, you'll have to bomb the loose block two
times to gain access to the water way. You'll have to use another Life Vest to
cross the water and keep heading right. Ignore the stairs in the middle of the
waterway, as you will have to use another Life Vest once you resurface. After
crossing the thin river, bomb the loose block in the middle of the screen, not
the one at the bottom to continue on.

Use another Life Vest and head into the water. Again, bomb the loose block
closer to the middle of the screen twice, rather than the one at the bottom of
the screen. If you keep bombing directly to the right from the entrance you
opened up, you'll uncover some stairs to the underground. So head into them to
get lots of items, then resurface. When the path splits into three up ahead,
take the top route. You will end up near a loose block at the top of the
screen, bomb it to uncover the path to the Room of Idols.

Once inside, bomb the top left Lion, the top middle Lion, the far right Lion,
the bottom left Lion, and the bottom right Lion. You'll get a Lamp, a Power
Ball, a Clock, Super Boots and a Candle. Exit the Room of Idols and continue
on heading to the exit of the period.

The Key is amongst the central "zig-zagging" barrier of blocks on the last
screen of the period. It's in one of the "gaps" near the bottom end of barrier.
Here is a diagram, X marks the spot of the key.
       _
     _|_|
    |_|X
     _|¯|
    |_|¯
      |¯|
       ¯
   ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯
There is also a passageway underground in the "gap" above where you got the
Key. Anyway, to get past the next "zig-zagging" barrier, bomb the third block
down from the top three times to open the way. Then exit the period.
__________
|Period 4-2|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is another dark level, so use a Lamp if you have one. Without a Lamp
this period is hell, since you'll have to rely on Candles, and finding the
Chalice will be really hard. Anyway, straight away you'll see a loose block to
the Room of Idols at the top of the screen. So bomb it and enter. Bomb both of
the Lion Statues for a Megaton Bomb and a Candle.

This stage is pretty straight forward, apart from that you need to find the
Chalice to prevent it from looping forever. Keep a look out for a loose block
at the top of the screen to bomb, as there is a second Room of Idols in this
period. Once you've entered the second Room of Idols, only bomb the top right
and bottom right Lions, to get a Megaton Bomb and a Lamp. Once you exit the
room, the Chalice is just up ahead. Look out for a block formation that looks
like this diagram below:
          _ _ _
        _|  _ _|
      _|   |
    _|     |X
           |
           |
           |_ _ _

And Bomb the block where the X is to get the Chalice. The Key is in the far
bottom right corner of the level, just under a row of permanent blocks. So
collect it, kill some Deltoids to stock up on bombs, and then exit the period.
__________
|Period 4-3|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This period is only one screen large, which is quite strange. Anyway, the Key
is close to where you begin. It's along the left wall, seven blocks up from
bottom edge of the period. Just to verify, that's eight blocks up from the
bottom edge of the screen, since you discount the border of blocks.

The Room of Idols is also just above you. To get to it, bomb the solid block
sticking out from the top left corner of the period three times to destroy it,
then bomb the block that was just above it to open the entrance to the Room of
Idols. Only bomb the bottom Lion, and you will get a Magical Bee (Hudson Bee).
Then exit the Room of Idols.

This period also has two passageways to the underground. You could always just
use a Megaton Bomb to clear the entire period. But it's probably better to just
exit. Go along the top of the screen, and of the two pairs of solid blocks
blocking your way, repeatedly bomb the bottom ones to get through. Once exiting
the period, you go to an Item Shop. You'll probably have enough Medals to buy
lots of cool stuff.

__________
|Period 5-1|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This period is a lot like all the ones before it. Just bomb your way to the
right, you'll probably encounter a few passageways to the underground. Anyway,
eventually you'll make it to an area that looks like an hourglass made out of
the green solid blocks. In the top left corner of this "hourglass" is a loose
block to the Room of Idols. Once in the Room of Idols, bomb the far left Lion
Statue, the Lion Statue 2nd from the left, and the Lion Statue 2nd from the
right. You'll receive a CrossFire, a Megaton Bomb, and a Missile.

Once back outside, bomb to the bottom left corner of the "hourglass" to find
the Chalice, it will prevent this period from looping. After bombing through a
hell of a lot of blue pillars on your trek forward, you will make it to an
almost round enclosure of green blocks, with barriers above and below it. Bomb
the loose block in the top left corner of the enclosure three times to blast
through. Then, bomb the pillar in the bottom right corner of this enclosure for
the Key, and then bomb the loose block behind it three times to get through.
Blast your way to the exit.
__________
|Period 5-2|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Like Period 3-2, this period is completely barren. Just head to the right,
killing enemies on the way to stockpile your bomb supply. Keep a watch out
for a loose block on the top edge of the period, it leads to the Room of Idols.
In the Room of Idols, bomb the top left, bottom left and middle Lions; to get a
Flash, a Clock, and a Megaton Bomb. Exit the room and keep heading right.

Eventually you will make it to a solid wall of pillars, bomb your way through
until you get to the stone barrier. Bomb the loose block in the middle three
times to continue on. From there, bomb up to the top right to find the Key to
the exit, then make your way to it.

Viripides, Lord of Dragons; is a very slithery boss. He will emerge from his
well and try to toast you to death with his fire breath. He will also attack
you with lightning bolts from above. If you have 20+ Flashes, you can just
safely stay in the bottom left corner, and constantly use Flashes on him until
he dies. But the more economical way is to actually go outside your shelter,
and blast him to death with your bombs. Just always keep moving. It may be a
good idea to use Super Boots, and have Energy Capsules ready. Once the Dragon
has been slain, collect the key and exit.

__________
|Period 6-1|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Near the beginning of this period, you will meet a seemingly impenetrable
barrier of solid blocks. Just bomb the part of the wall four spaces down from
the top of the period to get through it. Eventually, you'll make it to a series
of barriers, with a moat of water between them. Use a Life Vest, and bomb the
loose block in the first barrier twice to destroy it. Once in the moat, bomb
the loose block directly below you three times to uncover the Key. Then bomb
the loose block near the top of the next barrier twice, to get to the next
moat. Then bomb the loose block near the middle of the next barrier twice to
get into the next body of water, and then bomb the loose block infront of it in
the next barrier to get into the last body of water.

In the last screen, bomb the full block in the top edge of the period to open
the entrance to the Room of Idols. Bomb the far left Lion, the Lion 2nd from
the left, and the right Lion to get a Flash, a Megaton Bomb, and a Life Vest.
Exit the Room of Idols, and then exit the period.
__________
|Period 6-2|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the barren begining of this level, shoot as many Mecha-Birds and Deltoids
as you can, since you need to have 99 Bombs. Once you get to the blocks, stand
5 steps above from the bottom of the period (in line with the 3rd "corridor"
from the bottom), use Super Boots, face right, fire a Missile, and run behind
it as fast as you can. Shoot another Missle down the corridor and run after it,
and you'll run into a passageway underground.

Once you resurface, bomb the loose block in front of you three times to destroy
it. Then bomb the "coil" block behind it to uncover the Chalice. Continue on,
until you get to a huge "X" made of solid blocks. Bomb the top right corner of
this "X" to find the Key, and then bomb the loose block above it to get to the
Room of Idols. In the Room of Idols, for the lower row of Lions; bomb the 1st,
3rd and 4th Lions from the left, and for the upper row of Lions; bomb the 2nd,
4th and 5th Lions from the left. You'll get a Life Pod, two Energy Capsules,
a Lamp, a Megaton Bomb, and a pair of Super Boots. Exit the room.

For the barrier just before the exit. Bomb the top loose block three times to
get it out of the way, and then exit the period.
__________
|Period 6-3|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This period is set in complete darkness, so use a Lamp. Even though this
period is far from being barren, all of the passageways to the underground are
not hidden under blocks (in this case, conifer like cones). Keep making your
way forward, until you get to a rock formation in the shape of "HELP". To get
through it, bomb the bottom loose block of the E (1) three times to destroy it,
and then the middle of the L (2) three times to break a hole through it. To get
to the Well of Hope in the middle of the P, bomb the rock wall to the right
of the well (3) five times to destroy it. If those three location are hard for
you to understand, here is a diagram:
     _   _   _ _   _     _ _ _
    | | | | |_ _| | |   |  _  |
    | |_| | |_|_  | |   | |_| |3
    |  _  | |_ _|2| |   |  _ _|
    | | | |1|_|_  | |_  | |
    |_| |_| |_ _| |_ _| |_|

Just a little further on, you will come to a rock barrier that funnels you into
a very small corridor, with lots of rock above and below you. Of the group of
trees directly below the "rock corridor", bomb the top left corner to find the
Chalice. Further on, your path will be blocked by a lot of rocks. Bomb the
loose block at the end of the top corridor seven times, to uncover a Megaton
Bomb and blast a way through.

To get through the rock barrier at the very end of the period, walk four
spaces up from the bottom, and bomb the wall there 3 times to break through.
The Key is to the left of the rock sticking out of the middle of the right most
wall of the period. Exit the period, and get ready for a boss fight.

Aquarian, the Lord of Water; will float around the room, shooting out drops of
water that will turn into Piranhas once they hit the ground, and then they'll
attempt to bite Zed. The easiest way to kill him is to shoot him with six
Missiles. Otherwise, use CrossFires and Super Boots, and run around it whilst
constantly shooting. It will take a lot longer, but you won't "waste" anything.
Once he explodes, collect the Key and exit.

"The Outer City is near the outskirts of the Altile capital, Regency."
__________
|Period 7-1|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This period is filled with many loose blocks, the only problem is not many
of them are actually destroyable. Anyway, bomb the group of trees at the start
to uncover a passageway underground. Once you resurface after collecting lots
of items, bomb the loose block in the way of your path three times to destroy
it. Just ahead, bomb the two loose blocks at the top of the level three times
each to continue on. Make your way to the next loose block to your right, just
below the block to the Room of Idols. Bomb it three times, head up to the loose
block to the Room of Idols. But whilst doing so, _DO NOT_ head any further to
the right than the gap you created by blowing up the last loose block. Bomb the
loose block at the top of the screen, and enter the Room of Idols. Bomb both
Lion Statues inside, for a Megaton Bomb and a Super Bomb. Exit and head back
down to the left.

Bomb the loose block to the far left of the screen three times to destroy it.
In the chamber of "trees" it leads to, there is a passageway underground hidden
under a tree. Once you resurface, bomb the loose block to the left of you three
times to destroy it. Head down and then bomb the pair of loose blocks to your
right, and then the loose block to the right of them, three times each to
demolish them. Then there is a loose block guarding a passage that winds around
the lake, bomb it a couple of times and follow the path to a lone tree, bomb
the lone tree for the Chalice.

Up ahead is a column of loose blocks leading to a body of water, each take
around three bombs to destroy. Destroy three up, and then the one to the right.
The bomb the block two spaces up from the last one you destroyed. Now, use a
Life Vest, head into the body of water, and walk into the top right corner of
it. You'll find a Well of Hope! Now, make your way to the right. Bombing any
loose blocks in your way. The Key is hidden under a loose block in the far
bottom left corner of the last screen. Get it, then exit this annoying stage.
__________
|Period 7-2|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This level is very barren for the first three quarters. Just head right whilst
killing Xanthos, visiting the underground via passageways, and keeping an eye
out for the Room of Idols. The loose block to the Room of Idols is directly
above the second set of stairs you will see.

In the Room of Idols, bomb every Lion Statue but the far bottom left, the
middle right, the top left, and the 3rd Lion Statue from the left on the top
row. You will get two Energy Capsules, a Clock, a Flash, a Life Pod, a Super
Bomb, Super Boots, and a Magical Bee (Hudson Bee).

Once you get to the last screen, the Key is in the bottom of the middle
chamber. Once you get it, clear the way to the exit, and then keep killing
Xanthos until you have 99 bombs. Then exit the level.

L i a n
-------
Lian, the Lord of Air; resembles the Chimera from Greek mythology. It will fly
about over a large lake, whilst breathing flames at Zed. Keep shooting Missiles
at him, and you will eventually take down. Once he's dead, the lake will
disappear; revealing a Key. Collect the key and exit.
-------
__________
|Period 7-4|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is a pretty straight forward level. There is no Room of Idols (to my
knowledge) and there is nothing of interest, apart from two barriers. For the
first barrier, bomb the loose block that is under the "T" shaped block three
times to destroy it. For the second "zig-zagging" barrier, bomb the third block
down from the top edge of the period three times to break through.

P y r o d y n e
---------------
Pyrodyne, the Lord of Fire; is much like Aquarian, just the opposite "element".
He will float around the room shooting out fireballs, that will either hit Zed,
or will hit the ground and turn into fire bats that will actively seek out Zed.
Like Aquarian, the easiest way to kill him is to shoot him with six Missiles.
Otherwise, you'll have to kill him with your beam, since it's very hard to bomb
him, because he is moving constantly. Once he explodes, get the Key and exit to
the next level.

This is the last Item Shop in the entire game, so you might as well spend all
of your Medals (Awards). I suggest buying Lamps, Missiles, and CrossFires.

This period resembles the first level in the entire game, it's very green. It's
pretty uneventful as well. When you get to a place with two rivers encapsulated
in rock. Bomb the wall to the left of the bottom river five times that is two
steps up from the bottom, to break through it. Here is a diagram:

Once you break through, head to the northern tip of the water to find a Well of
Hope. Continue on. Once you reach the last screen, bomb the loose block in the
top right corner three times, then bomb the loose block in the bottom right
corner three times to get into the chamber filled with trees. Bomb the trees
inside to uncover the Key. Kill some enemies to gain some bombs, and then exit
the period.
__________
|Period 8-2|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
It's very dark, so use a Lamp to see the whole period. It's basically a maze
of breakable solid blocks, most of them taking three blasts to destroy. Anyway,
destroy the top loose block, and then the block to the right of it. Then break
the block in the top right corner to enter the top chamber, and then the loose
block to the right of this chamber to open up the block to the Room of Idols.
Bomb the block then enter the room.

In the Room of Idols, bomb every Lion Statue but the one that is 3rd from the
left on the middle row. You'll get two Lamps, a Megaton Bomb, an Energy
Capsule, and a Missile. Collect them and then exit.

Head down and then up to the top right corner of the next section. Blow up the
loose block up there to enter the chamber, then destroy the loose block to the
left. In the four part chamber, destroy the loose block down and to the
right, and then the loose block to the right of it. Collect the Energy Capsule,
and bomb the loose block which is second from the top to continue on.

The next bit seems impossible, with a huge arrow/diamond shaped of loose
blocks. But simply keep bombing the top of it to destroy a loose block. Then it
goes from bad to worse, with a whole structure made of loose blocks. Firstly,
destroy the far bottom block, then destroy the loose block in the wall to the
right of it. Head as far right as you possibly can, and bomb there three times
to get through. Then destroy the loose block to the left of the closed exit
door, and then the block to the left of it. Bomb the blocks in that chamber to
find the Key. Before you exit, keep killing Mecha Birds and Deltoids until you
have 99 Bombs. You'll definitely need them for the next period.
__________
|Period 8-3|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The beginning of this stage is a grid of chambers. Destroy any loose blocks in
your way and head up two chambers (you'll find some stairs in the middle
chamber), then head over to the right through the top line of chambers. Destroy
the pair of loose blocks to the right. The Room of Idols up ahead is empty, so
don't bother entering it. However, there are some stairs to the underground
just in front of its entrance.

There is a row of loose blocks ahead. Bomb the second one from the left three
times, and then head down to the middle of the screen and continue to the
right. Bomb the bottom right corner of this chamber to head into the "E" shaped
chamber ahead. Keep bombing the bottom right corner of this "E" shaped chamber
until you destroy the loose block and can continue.

Destroy the loose blocks in your way and head right, and then up to the Room of
Idols. Bomb all the Lion Statues inside the room, to get five Magical Bees.
Exit, and destroy the loose block to your direct right. Then the block in your
way to the stairs. Then once you visit the underground (use any extra Lamps
down there to get lots of goodies), break the loose block to your right. And
then the five loose blocks blocking your path to the Key. Get the Key, bomb the
loose block in the right wall of the Key's chamber, and then exit this last
period. You can just kill Mecha Birds and Deltoids here for ages to boost your
bombs before fighting the end bosses. But bombs will be of minimal help against
both of the last Lords.

G h o l e m
-----------
Gholem, the Lord of Stone; is one of the strongest Xantho Lords. He will stomp
back and forth at the top of the screen, and will hurl boulders at you.
I usually just stand in one of the top corners, and constantly fire Missiles at
him until he dies. If you have a stockpile of Flashes or Megaton Bombs, you may
want to use a few here and there to "sweeten the deal". Once he dies, collect
the Key and exit to the final boss fight, against Xur himself.

X u r
-----
Xur, Lord of the Xantho; is much like Aquarian and Pyrodyne before him. He's
a huge severed cyborg head, that throws out stuff that will damage Zed on
impact, or if it hits the ground, it'll become a robot python that will seek
out Zed. Just make the battle short and sweet. If you have a stockpile of
Megaton Bombs, this will be a very easy battle. Otherwise, use Flashes and
Missiles on him. Once he's dead and buried, the climate of Altile will go back
to normal. The world is saved!

My mother, for being one of the most experienced RoboWarrior players there is.
I taped her playing through the game, and then re-viewed it to find lots of
things that I would have missed. She also proofread the entire walkthrough! ^_^

Thomas Mattsson, for typing out the entire RoboWarrior Instruction Manual and
making it available on the 'net'; since I only have pages 2, 3, 36 & 37 :/

My Nintendo Entertainment System, for not giving me (or my mum) a flashing grey
screen of death once during the making of this guide.

FCE Ultra (fceultra.sourceforge.net), a NES Emulator; for having a "Save State"
function that let me discover the "tricks" to the many Room of Idols easily.
