I dedicate this to me. I feel I deserve some attention, so here I am saying
how cool I am. Actually, this goes out to my cousin Nathan Fleury, for he
showed me the ropes of this game. I thank you, and you are not as annoying
as I say you are (pretty close though). I would even go on to say that you
have really matured and it is good to see man.
Also, for Cougar. I miss you, and I hope you are living it up in the
afterlife as you did in this world. You will always be in my memories, and
you will never be forgotten.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------Introduction------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) You are a remote control car driver, and you are off to face the ultimate
drivers in the world! Your goal is to finish in the top three in every
race. Along the way, you can collect power-ups, weapons, and even
specially purposed letters to help you out! You will also have to deal
with other racers, course obstacles, and even remote controlled enemy
vehicles! You will need to be dilligent, but with a little work, you too
can become a master of the RC world (watch out though, because you only
get three continues per game)!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------Controls-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) This section will review all of the controls, and what effects they can
have on your vehicle.
D-Pad...: LEFT and RIGHT are the the only directions that matter. By
pushing LEFT or RIGHT, you will start to turn in the direction
pressed, but no matter how good a grip your tires may have (on
their power-up scale of 0 to 4), the actual turn is delayed. You
need to start a turn before reaching the corner you intend to
round, so make sure you know the layout of the track. It takes
practice, but you will quickly catch on.
SELECT..: No apparent use.
START...: Starts the game, and it pauses/unpauses during gameplay.
B Button: This is the accelerator, it is how you get to move your
remote-controlled vehicle.
A Button: This is how you deploy whatever weaponry you have managed to
collect from the race courses. If you have no weaponry charges,
this will honk the horn, which will get slower drivers to pull
over and let you pass (just like in real racing).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------Items---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) This section will list all of the possible items you can collect on the
track on each course.
Each vehicle power-up has five levels (0 is starting spot, all the way to
4 power-ups as a max).
o---------o
Letters
o---------o
These appear as flashing squares with the letter "N" on it. As you collect
each one from the tracks you race on, you start to spell the word
N-I-N-T-E-N-D-O, one letter at a time. This will allow your car to upgrade
to a different vehicle type.
o-------o
Stars
o-------o
These add 100 points to your score, as well as adding one extra weapons
charge to your reserves. Without having any of these, you will be unable to
attack your opposition to destroy them.
o--------o
Skulls
o--------o
These remove 1 weaponry charge, and they appear to have no effect on your
overall score. If you have no weapon charges, then don't bother worrying
about these anoyances.
o---------o
Shields
o---------o
These green and white looking roll cages will protect your vehicle with an
aura of shimmering colour. Enemies who touch you will spin out, but they
can collect these as well. They can be taken down by weaponry however, so
still try to avoid the sights of other racers as well.
o-------o
Bombs
o-------o
These are red and yellow, and once collected give you a stockpile number of
about 5 per pick-up (they are cumilitive). However, your stockpile will
not be wiped away by picking up Missiles (cumilitive for both using the
same ammo supply).
o----------o
Missiles
o----------o
These are red and yellow, and once collected give you a stockpile number of
about 5 per pick-up (they are cumilitve). However, your stockpile will not
be wiped away by picking up Bombs (cumilitive for both using the same ammo).
o----------------------o
Accelerator Upgrades
o----------------------o
These are blue circles. They increase your acceleration, but be aware that
your opponent may grab these as well!
o-----------------o
Engine Upgrades
o-----------------o
These are blue engine blocks. They increase your maximum speed, , but be
aware that your opponent may grab these as well!
o---------------o
Tire Upgrades
o---------------o
These are black tires. They increase your turning abilities, , but be aware
that your opponent may grab these as well!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------N-I-N-T-E-N-D-O---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) This section will tell you what happens when you spell out
N-I-N-T-E-N-D-O.
At the end of the race where you complete NINTENDO, you recieve a bonus
score of 5,000 points per letter (i.e. 5,000 X 8 letters = 40,000
points!). You also upgrade your vehicle to a newer, faster, more
handling sensitive vehicle!
You lose all of your vehicle upgrades to that point, but I believe you
retain them as the starting stats for your new vehicle. Your new car
starts at 0 spot for all power-ups, but it is previously boosted by your
old ones. This means in theory you can have everything powered-up to
double what you can normally have!
I suggest you collect your one letter per racing course as you go as well
as your power-ups so you can create your incredibly fast vehicle. It
appears you upgrade every single time you spell N-I-N-T-E-N-D-O, so you
get the opportunity to fully pump up your vehicle numerous times.
Your opponents also get upgraded, so you are fairly warned as they have
the same starting stats your vehicle will have (before you upgrade with
pick-ups off the tracks of course)!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------Enemies And Obstacles-------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) This section will cover all of the things that seek to do great harm to
you, so you will not finish in the top three.
o--------o
Racers
o--------o
Your opponents can obstruct you as well as shoot you with weaponry. Also
note that as the player uses more weapons on them, they will become faster
and faster, meaning that they will be impossible to beat in a race. Only
Shields (roll cages) will not have this effect on the opposition.
o-------o
Water
o-------o
Slows your vehicle down if you are unfortunate enough to drive through the
area that they lie in.
o-----o
Oil
o-----o
Can cause you to spin out if you are unfortunate enough to drive through the
area that they lie in.
o------------o
Rain Cloud
o------------o
This moves back and forth across a small section of the course in an attempt
to slow you down much like a regular puddle of Water whenever the rain
falls.
o-------------------o
Retractable Walls
o-------------------o
These appear periodically to pop up and down in the middle of the road. You
can drive over there area when they are down, and incur no penalty, but if
you drive into them when they are in place, you will crash horribly. This
is the most annoying obstacles for most drivers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------Course Stats--------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) This section is going to list all of the course maps I have encountered,
plus my own name for each one. You get the more complicated tracks as
you upgrade your vehicle.
A quick note for each race; they always end when the FIRST vehicle
crosses the finish line. This means you place in WHAT PLACE you are in
when this event occurs. Keep this in mind when you race so you can maybe
pass with a last ditch move that may have been bad normally, but instead
gets you a higher ranking (often the difference between GAME OVER and
third place).
The tracks seem to be randomized after a few races as in your current
vehicle transformation. ALso note that the game appears to never end, as
many readers have sent in e-mails stating that they have gone 200+ Tracks
with the aid of the game genie and still nothing. SO, this would make it
appear that you race for the sole fun of seeing how far you can get and
high you can possibly score!

This game is by the same people who brought you the Donkey Kong Country
games, KI on the SNES, DK 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and the
Banjo-Kazooie series. It is neat to look at what they started at, and to
see that even then, they designed truly great games such as this! Also
check out their stuff for X-Box as I am sure their fabulous, quality work
will continue! As I update this, I am sad to say Rare has not exactly
been running a top notch set of stuff... here's hoping it changes on the
X-Box 360!
