GAME SCRIPT

PROLOGUE
-------------------------
"You mustn't go out during a full moon. That's when the dead walk the woods.
If they catch you, they'll drag you into their graves----"
[Shows a graveyard, with corpses rising. Then shows a woman holding her
daughter being surrounded by the dead, and zooms to her face.]
[Two young people, sitting in a field]
Merle: It's an old story in this village.
Ricky: But Merle, it's just a story, right?
[Zooms to Merle's face]
Merle: I dunno---- Some people say they've seen it actually happen.
[Pans to Ricky]
Ricky: Hmm----
[Shows dead people in the moonlight, then switches to inside a house, where a
mysterious figure is approaching a family]
The father: W--who are you!?
[Scrolls past the dead person's face, then Ricky's, then his father, reaching
out to protect him]
Dr. Slater: Ricky!!
[Shows the parents on one side of the door, Ricky on the other,
with the door slightly ajar]
Dr. Slater: Ricky, run for it!
Ricky: Dad, who the--
[Close-up of Dr. Slater]
Dr. Slater: They're after the Moon Crystal!
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: Moon Crystal!?
[Shows small images of Ricky's parents and Merle, then Ricky, facing a path]
That night, everyone in Cirrus Village was taken away by the mysterious
abductors. Except for one boy, Ricky Slater----

AFTER STARTING THE GAME
-------------------------
[Shows Ricky and his dad inside a building, Dr. Slater holding a crystal]
Dr. Slater: See this stone, Ricky.
[A close-up of the stone]
Dr. Slater: It only shines like this during a full moon.
[Rickys father's face]
Dr. Slater: The moon affects the tides and has a subtle effect on the human
spirit.
[Ricky's face is shown]
Dr. Slater: Not just gravity, but sacred power is hidden in the moon.
[Shows the crystal again]
Dr. Slater: And this shining Moon Crystal----
[The doctor's face]
Dr. Slater: ----Holds the same--no, an even greater sacred power.
[Back to the present, Ricky's face is shown]
Ricky: Moon Crystal---- Everyone was abducted because of that stone.
What mystery does it hold?

AFTER STAGE 1
-------------------------
[Backround of buildings scrolls, shows Ricky and a girl]
Girl: So you are Ricky.
Ricky: Yeah, but---- How do you know my name?
[Zooms to the girl's face]
Girl: It was Count Crimson who abducted your father,
because of his research on the Moon Crystal.
[Camera shows Ricky]
Ricky: How do you know this? Who are you?
[Camera goes back to the girl]
Girl: I am Rosina. The Count intends to misuse the crystal.
[Camera zooms out, showing Rosina, the town to the right, and a giant castle
to the left]
Rosina: His castle is beyond this town.
The abducted villagers should be there also.
[Zooms to her face]
Rosina: Please, stop him----

AFTER STAGE 2
-------------------------
[Camera shows the town and the castle in the night sky, then goes to two
shadowy figures and a man tied up in between them]
???: Dr. Slater, have you decided?
Dr. Slater: What you are doing is monstrous. I refuse to help you.
[Camera shows the two men's faces. One is Count Crimson, a tall man with a top
hat and a monocle, the other a short bald man]
Count Crimson: The Moon Crystal shines only during a full moon.
But if we finish the Lunasystem, we can draw its power at any time.
As a man of science, you must be interested. Won't you help me?
[Pans to Dr. Slater]
Dr. Slater: That power is for the good of mankind, not for creating monsters.
[Shows Count Crimson]
Count Crimson: Your family has been sent to the Crystal mines.
Unless you cooperate, they won't leave alive. And your son is on his way into
my grasp right now. If you agree, everything will be fine.
[Goes back to Dr. Slater]
Dr. Slater: ............

AFTER STAGE 3
-------------------------
[Camera shows Ricky, holding what looks like Count Crimson by the shoulders
of his cloak]
Ricky: Crimson! Where's Dad!
[Camera shows the man dressed as Crimson, holding his hat over his face]
Man: Unfortunately---- I'm not the man you're looking for.
[Man takes hat away to show his face, scowling]
Man: The Count is already at Maclonna Island.
His research will soon be complete.
[Pans to Ricky]
Ricky: Maclonna Island---- So that's where Dad is----

AFTER STAGE 4
-------------------------
[An Island, covered in mountains, with three buildings near the top,
is displayed. Camera then switches to Rosina]
Rosina: Ricky, your father is in the Count's laboratory.
The others are in the mines. You have to save them----
[Shows Ricky]
Ricky: Rosina---- What are you doing here?
[Close-up of Rosina's face]
Rosina: ..........
The Count is my father. He is using the Crystal for something horrid.
[Back to Ricky]
Ricky: Horrid?
[Shows Ricky and Rosina]
Rosina: When the full moon shines on the Crystal, its power greatly amplifies
human life energy. You've heard the story of the dead walking beneath the full
moon. The Crystal's power can temporarily vivify even the dead.
[Close-up of Rosina's face]
Rosina: Father's Lunasystem will make the Crystal function all the time.
If he completes it---- horrible monsters will be created.
The Lunasystem must be destroyed!
[Shows Ricky]
Ricky: Rosina, is that what you want?
[Shows them both again]
Rosina: It's for father's own sake too.

AFTER STAGE 5
-------------------------
[Eight villagers in the mine are shown. The middle one stands]
Ricky's Mom: Ricky!
[Close-up of Ricky]
Ricky: Mom, you're safe!
[Shows his mom]
Ricky's Mom: Yes, but Merle was taken away.
[Back to Ricky]
Ricky: Huh!?
[Pans back to his mom]
Ricky's Mom: Just now, by the Count----
[Scene changes to Count Crimson and his bald lackey]
Count Crimson: My apologies, young lady, but we must begin the experiment----
[Zooms to the Count's face]
Count Crimson: On you----
[Shows Merle's face]
[Scene switches back to Ricky]
Ricky: Dad and Merle are in the Count's laboratory.
I'm going to save them and destroy the Lunasystem.

AFTER SOME OF STAGE 6
-------------------------
[Shows a huge mechanical device, then Ricky]
Ricky: What the--?
[Shows Ricky's dad, Dr. Slater]
Dr. Slater: Ricky, you're safe!
[Back to Ricky]
Ricky: Dad! What is this thing?
[Shows their backs as they face the device]
Dr. Slater: It's the Lunasystem. The Count forced me to help him finish it.
[Shows the Count in the shadows]
Count Crimson: Have you enjoyed your reunion?
Ricky: Crimson!
[Shows Crimson holding onto Merle, then zooms to Merle's face]
Merle: Ricky!
[Shows Ricky]
Ricky: Merle!
[Back to Crimson holding Merle]
Count Crimson: You've done well to make it this far, Ricky.
But this is the end.
[A robot is shown behind Count Crimson]

AFTER THE BOSSES
-------------------------
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: Let Merle go!
[The Count, still grasping Merle]
Count Crimson: The Lunasystem is nearly complete. With it, I can create
life far superior to mankind.
[Crimson's face]
Count Crimson: I'll demonstrate the power using this young lady.
[Shows the Lunasysten, flashing, then Ricky]
Ricky: Stop!
[Shows Merle, with the background still flashing, then goes back to the
Lunasystem, and to Ricky again]
Ricky: Merle!!
[Back to Merle, flashing stops after a few seconds.
Shows Ricky and his father's backs as they face the machine]
Ricky: It----stopped?
[The Count's face]
Count Crimson: Who did this? Now my creations will----
[Shows Rosina]
Rosina: Father, I did.
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: Rosina!!
[Crimson's face]
Count Crimson: It was you!?
[Rosina's side]
Rosina: Father, please stop using innocent people this way.
[Back to Crimson's face]
Count Crimson: How could you, Rosina? With the machine off, you'll die!
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: Huh!?
[Count Crimson's upper body]
Count Crimson: So you want to know. My daughter died long ago.
This Rosina is a simulacrum, animated by the crystal.
[His face]
Count Crimson: This girl is one of what you call monsters.
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: No! Rosina----
[Close-up of Rosina's face]
Rosina: Ricky---- It's true.
[Shows Crimson's shadow running, then Ricky, shouting]
Ricky: Stop, Crimson!

AFTER MORE OF THE STAGE
-------------------------
[Shows Ricky's face]
Ricky: Crimson, the Lunasystem's been shut off. It's all over now.
[Crimson's face]
Count Crimson: I don't need the Lunasystem now. Behold!
[Zooms back, shows Crimson near some sort of machine]
Count Crimson: Tonight is a full moon. The Moon Crystal's power is mine!
[Crimson presses a button, and the ceiling is moved to display the full moon.
Switches back to Ricky, then to the Count. The room flashes and black dots rise
past Crimson. He then flashes into some kind of monster, which lunges forth.

AFTER DEFEATING CRIMSON
-------------------------
[Ricky's face, background flashes again]
Ricky: !?
[Show's Ricky's Dad]
Dr. Slater: The Lunasystem's gone haywire. We have to leave before it explodes!
[Shows Ricky and Merle]
Ricky: Rosina, come with us!
[Rosina's face]
Rosina: I cannot come with you. I am not Rosina, only a copy made in her image.
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: Even if you are, inside you're no different from anyone.
[Back to Rosina's face]
Rosina: Thank you, Ricky.
You are the first person to say such a thing----
But I am only alive now because of the Moon Crystal.
With the Lunasystem deactivated, I shall not live much longer.
As the Count's daughter, it is my duty to ensure all traces of his folly are
destroyed.
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: Rosina----
[Again to Rosina's face]
Rosina: Ricky, if things were different----
We might have become good friends----
It's not safe here. Go quickly!
-------------------------
AFTER THE ESCAPE
-------------------------
[Shows Maclonna Island. The screen shakes, and the island crumbles.
The sky becomes bright, and the camera switches to Ricky and Merle]
Ricky: The mine's sinking---- The crystal's going to the bottom of the sea.
Never to be misused again----
[Ricky's face]
Ricky: Abusing a great power has tragic consequences. Dad wanted the Crystal's
power to be used to help people. I wish I could help his research.
[Switches to Merle's face]
Merle: I'm sure you can, Ricky. To use power to make a better world----
I think that's what Rosina would have wanted.
[Shows Ricky and Merle]
Ricky: Let's go home.
[Shows the townspeople waving, with a ship in the background, then displays
Ricky's parents, then goes to Ricky's face. The camera then pans to the blue
sky above, and the credits roll]
