Mahjong Block is a clone of various other games, most notably Tetris, in its
concept. It involves Mahjong tiles, and the objective is to line up three of
the same tiles to clear them. To advance to the next stage, you simply need
to clear a certain number of tile groups, though it gets a little more
involved than that as you go along. Nonetheless, it is a simple game to check
out, and worth it if you're a fan of the typical falling-block games.

General Gameplay
================

When you start the game, you will have a few options you can switch. You can
change the difficulty setting (Easy, Norm, Hard), the SCC Next (affects
visibility during gameplay), and if there is background music playing. Once
you are ready, move the cursor to the Exit option and press Start to begin.

Now for the actual gameplay, you will see your score and a tally on the
bottom of the screen. The tally will have something like "x15" or "x30"
initially; this is the amount of pairs you need to make in order to go on to
the next stage. Mahjong pieces will fall from above, one at a time, and they
will pile up in your playing area.

The objective is to line up three of the same tile (vertically, horizontally,
or diagonally) to clear them, thus counting down your tally. However, it's
not always that simple. In some stages, you need to line them up horizontally
in order for it to count, and others need to be set up diagonally.

There are different sets of tiles used in each round, but they are all
generally the same: there are numbered tiles from 0-9, and a wildcard tile
(shown as a flower tile). You can use a flower tile to clear a set of tiles
if you already have two of them lined up properly. Otherwise, you must either
line up three of the same tiles, or three in a sequence (for example, 2-3-4
or 8-9-0). You can make a combination chain, where if you clear one line of
tiles, the tiles above it can fall into their new positions, forming another
set. This can be helpful, but don't go out of your way to try this, or you
may end up losing! Anyway, once you clear the quota tallied at the bottom,
you go on to the next stage.

The best advice is to not let your tiles pile up too high, since if you stack
them to the top, no new tiles can appear and the game will be over. In the
later stages, there will already be tiles stacked in the playing field when
you begin, giving you less open space to work with. As for the pieces
themselves, they will generally have small circles on them, signifying the
value of that tile. One particular set of tiles in some stages use Japanese
symbols for the numbers. If you want a good resource to see what those pieces
mean, go here:
