Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium '88, albeit with an interesting title, is simply
yet another generic baseball game for the Famicom. There are a variety of
teams to pick from, each with their own statistics. This is the "sequel" if
you will to the first Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium, but the team rosters are
mostly the same. As in the original, you can play either a regular game, or
enter into a homerun derby if you so desire. One interesting point about this
game is the fact you can use skill points to bolster your team's skills after
each game (granted you have to use passwords to save the data and continue on
with the same team). Other than that, this game is nothing particularly
special, but worth a try if you're looking for a baseball game with a small
addition at the end.

Game Modes
==========
VS COM: Play a regular game against the computer.
VS 2P: Play a regular game against another human player.
HOMERUN RACE: Practice hitting homeruns in this mode (you can set how many
balls you will be pitched).

Post Game
=========
At the end of a regular game, you will come to a special screen. On here, it
will list all of the players on your team, and you can boost the statistics
of some of them, depending on how many skill points you have available (see
the top left part of the screen). For the batters, you can boost their
throwing (投), hitting (打), and running (走) abilities, whereas for the
pitchers you can boost their various pitching abilities. After you do this,
you can save your game so you can continue on the same file per se, or you
can view the password to save it manually. To continue with the same team,
boosts and all, you must enter the password you were given on the Continue
screen.

NOTE: In the batter lists for each team, batters #9-14 on the list are the
team's pitchers. Since each pitcher actually has his own statistics at
bat, I felt it was necessary to list them all here. The last four on
the list are the substitute pinch hitters. You can switch out any of
your batters during the game, but once you substitute someone out,
that's it!
