                           I. Introduction
--|------------------------------------------------------------------------|--

Welcome to my newest FAQ. This time, the choice is Kung Fu. I have played
through this game, and for some reason I just become addicted when playing
it. I will not be writing an introduction for this FAQ, only because the
game is quite old, and there isn't much to say right now. Anyway, this
FAQ was written for one purpose; to help those who need it. That is my
only reason for writing FAQs, and I plan on continuing to write and help
people. Well, since I don't have anything else to say right now, on to
the FAQ!!!

                            III. Walkthrough
--|------------------------------------------------------------------------|--

-|---------|-
- Level One -
-|---------|-

At the start, some Grabbers will come at you and attack. Take them out
quickly before they grab on, as they drain more and more life the longer they
hold on to you. Keep moving while fighting off more Grabbers, and you will
eventually meet a Knife Thrower. Watch out for this guy, as he can be quite
tricky at times. He will throw the knives high and low, which will force
you to either jump or crouch to avoid being hit and taking damage. He will
go down after two hits, then you must continue on.

Continue walking, while taking out all Grabbers and the Knife Throwers that
appear every so often. Just keep walking through the level, taking them out,
until you reach your very first boss in Kung Fu; The Swordsman. To find out
how much life each boss has, notice the life bar that is below your own. This
is the Boss Life Bar.

Anyway, the Swordsman will attack by swinging his sword at you either high of
low, crouching when low. The way I defeated him was by runnning up and
attacking when he is about to strike. I usually got one or two hits in,
allowing me to beat him in a somewhat short time. Once he is defeated, continue
until the screen stops and you walk up a set of stairs. Level One complete!

-|---------|-
- Level Two -
-|---------|-

Once you start, get used to walking right instead of left in this level. This
will change from time to time throughout the game, so be used to both. Walk
foward and a vase will fall to the floor, smashing open and releasing a snake.
You cannot kill this snake, so you must jump over him. Make sure you clear
him, as you will still take damage if you land on him. Soon you will encounter
a Dragon, who also falls from the ceiling, as did the vase containing the
snake. He will burst from an egg which falls down, and will then spit fire at
you. He will disappear with a cloud of smoke after a few seconds, leaving you
a short time to attack.

You should come across a Confetti Ball in this level, which drops from the
ceiling and hovers above the ground. It will eventually burst into three small
pieces which can damage you, so avoid them. You can defeat the Confetti Ball
by jump kicking it once, and it will then fall. These things will stop coming
from the ceiling (Snakes, Dragons and Confetti Balls) about half way through,
at which time you will be attacked by Grabbers and Knife Throwers, who are
joined by a new foe; the Midget. He is like a Grabber, but you must crouch
to hit him. He will try to flip over you and cause some damage, but you can
counter it by simply jumping into him.

Continue on through the level, defeating the enemies as you go, until you
come upon the Boomerang Thrower. This boss is slightly harder than the
previous, but is still quite easy. He will attack by throwing a boomerang
which travels in a circle and returns back to him. I used the same strategy
as for the last boss; simply go up to him and punch or kicks right before he
attacks. Watch his life and after about five hits he should go down. After
his death, continue going and fighting the enemies until you reach the end.
Level Two complete!

-|-----------|-
- Level Three -
-|-----------|-

This level is quite short, and quite a bit easier than the others before it.
It is the same as the first, with the exception of the added Midget enemies.
Head left and kill off all enemies you encounter. Just keep going through
until you reach the boss in this Level, the Strong Man. This boss is very
strong, obviously, but very slow at the same time. He will attack by punching
high and kicking low, which you can avoid. The battle can be won easier if
you use the Jump Kick, then kick at him while crouching. Avoid his kicks, as
they are _VERY_ strong, and he can take you down with about two kicks. Other
than that, just keep taking shots when you can get them in. After about six
shots, he will go down. Continue on and head to Level Four.

-|----------|-
- Level Four -
-|----------|-

At the start, you will notice a large square hole in the wall. A Poisonous
Moth will come out of the hole, which will soon be followed by more of them.
You can kill them with any attacks, but there is no limit to the number of
Moths that will come out and attack, so kill only how much you desire. Keep
going right and you will pass four different holes, each holding unlimited
Moths. Keep going right without letting go of the right directional button
on the D-Pad, as it will pass quicker and easier if you don't.

Once you get past all four holes, you will again be greeted by the normal
enemies in each level. Keep fighting your way through each group of
enemies that appear, making your way through the level. Eventually, you
will come across the next boss, the Magician. Normal kicks and punches
will only knock off his head, which he grows back immeadiately, so the
only way to damage him is to crouch and punch him. Luckily for you, the
Magician is the weakest boss you will come across, but don't let it get
to you, as he can be difficult.

He will shoot fire at you, shooting in two different directions, which will
either be straight ahead or slanted at the ground. Any fireballs that come
in contact with the ground will become dragons, so watch out for them, as
well as the bee things that emerge from the fire he throws straight ahead.
The bees are not like Moths, as they do not come at you. Defeat the enemies
that appear, while being weary of the boss. After about four hits he will
go down, and you can proceed to the Fifth and final level.

-|----------|-
- Level Five -
-|----------|-

This final level can be a bit agitating, as there are enemies coming from
every direction, and there are what seems to be an endless amount of them
coming at you. Fight off all of the enemies that come at you, while moving
bit by bit through the level. It is almost unavoidable to be caught between
two groups of enemies at once, which can become quite difficult to escape
from, especially if they are Knife Throwers. All I can really say is to
keep fighting your way through the hordes of enemies thrown at you, while
moving a little at a time through the level.

After the tons and tons of enemies have been defeated, you will finally
come across the final boss, Mr. X. A few different things can be said
about Mr. X, either he isn't what you would think, or that he is somewhat
more difficult than the previous bosses. Always keep in mind that Mr. X
is able to block your attacks and avoid taking damage, which makes him a
bit frustrating.

The strategy I will tell you is the one I used, and I am not sure if I read
it in a FAQ or it just happened to me, but anyway, there is a very simple
and easy strategy that can be used to defeat him without doing much of
anything. Now, you could fight him anyway you like, but this is the easy,
somewhat cheap way of doing it. Simply walk up to him and duck, then start
kicking at his legs. He will usually continue walking back and forth into
your kicks, making it very simple for you to win without even moving around.
After around six hits Mr. X will go down, and you will win the fight.

Once he is defeated, walk to where there is usually the staircase to the
next level, and you will find your prize, the whole reason behind your
adventure; Sylvia. You have rescued her and you live your lives in peace
and tranquility, that is, unless you leave the game on. Once you beat the
game, it simply starts over. Sylvia is kidnapped again, and you must rescue
her...again. The enemies will now be a bit harder, but nothing you can't
handle! There will also be a lot more of them, but don't worry about it.
The game will continue until you run out of lives, so have fun, and congrats
on beating Kung Fu!!
