This game is the third in a series of arithmetic learning games for the
Nintendo Famicom. This particular game focuses on multiplication and division
only. It's an old game primarily meant for educational purposes, and as such
there is little variety. There are four modes, two for multiplication and two
for division. These game modes contain short mini-games where you have to
solve the displayed math problems. If you somehow don't know how to multiply
or divide (even though it is not as simple as adding and subtracting), you
may want to check this game out, otherwise you're not missing anything by not
trying it.

========
Overview
========

When you start the game, there is a menu screen with 4 modes you can access
(details on those modes can be found below). In each mode, you can pick
between two courses. Both courses are exactly the same, but course 2 is the
slightly more difficult version of the two. After you pick the course number
(コース), you then get the option to choose how many players will be
participating. Once you do that (1 player = ひとりでやる, 2 players =
ふたりでやる), your chosen game will begin. In all the modes, you are given 5
lives, so you can only mess up that many times before your game ends.

=======================
Division 1 (わりざん 1)
=======================

Course 1
--------

This mode gives you control of a submarine which must pick up the box
containing the correct answer to the division problem above. At the water's
surface, there is a ship that will drop junk into the water in an attempt to
defeat you. If you get hit, you lose a life. To solve the problem, maneuver
the submarine over to the box containing the correct answer and press A or B
when you're overlapping it. If the correct answer is selected, you gain 100
points; if you pick the wrong one, you lose a life and gain no points.

Course 2
--------

You still have control of the submarine in this course, and the game is
generally the same. However, the division problems will be slightly more
complex, now giving you the problem AND its remainder (あまり). This means you
need to find the answer (or quotient) so that the remainder fits properly.

=============================
Multiplication 1 (かけざん 1)
=============================

Course 1
--------

You are a space cadet in this mode, and there are ten numbers on blocks in
the air above. You are given a multiplication problem at the top of the
screen, and your job is to fill in the specified blank in the answer itself.
The blank can be in the ones, tens, or hundreds column, so you will have to
manually work out the problems to figure out the blank.

While you do this, there are two flying saucer objects moving back and forth.
In order to avoid getting hit by the lower one, jump over it by pressing A.
When you figure out the answer, stand below the right number and press B to
start floating upward. Be careful when you do this though, so that you don't
get hit by the upper flying object! If you get the right answer, you get 100
points and continue; if not, you lose a life and are rewarded with nothing.

Course 2
--------

This is the same as the first course in the mode, but you may have to fill in
the blanks at the thousands position as well. This shouldn't be too hard, as
it's only another place value you might have to multiply to fill in the
blank.

=======================
Division 2 (わりざん 2)
=======================

Course 1
--------

In this second mode for division, you control a little man in a building with
5 floors. To the right is the division problem you need to solve (yes you
have to do it the long way, but it's not so bad).

On the floor you start off on, you need to pick the number that correctly
fits into the equation for the first step (you should be able to do this, so
I'm not turning this FAQ into a math lesson). You do this by pressing B in
front of your selection. If you get it right, you go to the next floor and
the process continues. On the top floor, you have 3 numbers to choose from,
and it is here you select the remainder by pressing B.

While you're doing the problems, there is a monster moving back and forth on
the same floor. Jump over it by pressing A because if you get hit, you'll
lose a life. For each step of a problem you get right, you get 100 points.

Course 2
--------

In this mode, the only difference is that you have to divide larger numbers
with four place values instead of just three.

=============================
Multiplication 2 (かけざん 2)
=============================

Course 1
--------

In this mode, you are in a maze of sorts controlling an orange car. There is
a multiplication problem given to you on the right side of the screen. In
your maze, there are 4 boxes that you can enter, one in each corner. Your job
is to solve the problem step by step, by finding the correct numbers to
replace the designated ? in the problem.

When you drive into one of the empty boxes, a number will appear. If it's the
one you need, press A to select it. If you got it right, you will earn 40-60
points and go to the next step of the problem. When you completely solve a
problem, you will receive 500 points. If you get any part of the problem
wrong, you will lose a life and gain no points.

Also in the maze with you are two enemy cars. For the most part they stay
away from you since they are not intelligent, but if you crash into one
somehow you will lose a life.

Course 2
--------

In this mode, you are given more complex, larger problems to work with. The
enemy cars seem to move at the same speed, but you gain 60-80 points for
getting a step of the problem right. That appears to be the only difference
between the courses in this mode.
