Story
= = = = = = = = = =
You play as Jay, a boy in the year 0373 (in the new space calendar, of
course) trying to avenge his father's death. Originally Jay believes the
death of his father was merely an accident, but he finds a floppy disc which
tells him otherwise. Apparently some terrorists took it upon themselves to
off Jay's father when he found out about their plans to sabotage a space
colony being constructed. So Jay decides to take a page from Ryu of Ninja
Gaiden's book and avenge his dear ol' dad's death, not to mention prevent the
terrorists from harming anyone else. It will be a long hard fought battle but
in the end it will all be worth it.
(Really if you think about this it's kind of a futuristic Ninja Gaiden,
except with terrorists...)

Walkthrough

Stage One-A deserted space colony in 0373
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This level is a pretty straightforward shoot 'em up. You need to be on the
lookout for weapons in the background which will shoot bombs at you. You
cannot destroy them, so simply avoid the projectiles they shoot. Time your
jumps well, because many enemies will shoot at you while you're making your
way over a hole. In order to beat the mini-boss, a robotic tank which shoots
colored homing missiles move about 3/5 of the way across the screen and
follow the following pattern: When he shoots the first bullet, duck and fire,
when the 2nd and 3rd come jump shot 3 bullets, and press down. Do this 7 or 8
times and the mini-boss should go down with minimal trouble.
*****************************************************************************
Stage One Boss: Helicopter and Mini-robots
*****************************************************************************
Difficulty: 2.5/5 Recommended weapon: Handgun
The mini-robots will come out first, 3 of them, one at a time. In order to
beat them wait for the to jump, run under them and shoot them when they land.
Around 9 shots will kill them. Be careful to watch out for their lasers.
Next comes the helicopter. In order to beat it time your jumps so that you
can shoot and land in between the spreads of bullets it will be shooting at
you. It may take some practice but once you get the hang of it it's pretty
easy.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Stage Two-Underground Concourse
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The only reason you may find this level to be a challenge is due to the
enemies that will fire multiple bullets quickly. Practice learning how to
dodge their large spreads and you should have no trouble. To beat this
level's mini-boss pull out your machinegun and aim for the head. Hit him
anywhere else and he'll just absorb the bullets.
*****************************************************************************
Stage Two Boss: War Vehicle Robot
*****************************************************************************
Difficult Level: 4.5/5 Recommended Weapon: Handgun
You _must_ keep moving while fighting against this boss. He will shoot pink
blobs at you, which can home in on you if you stay in place for too long.
Also he will shoot a hook out of his chest which will kill you
instantaneously if it touches you. Aim for the middle of his body and duck
when he shoots the hook at you.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Stage Three: Terrorist Headquarters
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This stage isn't too much harder than the 2nd one. The most important thing to
look out for is the blue laser generators and the land mines on the ground,
which will shoot up a pink barrier. They are well hidden, so be careful. In
order to beat the mini-boss either just unload homing missiles on him to
quickly kill him, and take minimal damage or keep moving so that you don't
get hit by his homing bullets and make sure to aim for his head.
*****************************************************************************
Stage Three Boss: Troop of Cannons
*****************************************************************************
Difficulty Level: 3.5/5 Recommended Weapon: Laser
In order to easily beat this boss move about halfway across the screen and
duck down. Then, wait until the 2nd cannon up fires and jump up and aim for
the eye of the machine. This may take awhile but it's the safest and easiest
way to defeat this boss.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Stage 4-Inside the Terrorist's Spaceship
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This level is extremely long, especially compared to the other levels, and
has many enemies in it. The enemies are extremely quick but luckily most will
go down in 2-3 hits with your handgun. The best strategy is to just take them
out from as far away as possible. Make sure to watch out for the blocks that
fall from the ceiling and the cylinders that will try to crush you. They
should be fairly easy to get around though. The mini-boss for this level, an
ape that appears to be made out of rocks, is pretty easy. Take out his body
by shooting him in the head 4 times with your laser and then switch to your
handgun to take out his head. You will earn the grenade launcher, the best
weapon in the game, for beating him.
*****************************************************************************
Stage Four Boss: Mammoth Canon
*****************************************************************************
Difficulty level: 3/5 Recommended weapon: Grenade Launcher
In order to beat the boss wait until the half circle bullet begins to form
then quickly jump to the right. If you time it right you should jump over the
bullet and land in front of the cannon. Jump up quickly and shoot for the eye
of the boss. Run back and do it all over again. It should take 6-8 hits to
defeat the boss.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Stage 5: Inside the Terrorist's Spaceship Factory
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This is one of those scrolling levels where you must keep moving or you end
up dying. Yeah, they're a pain, but what are you gonna do? Luckily this level
has no enemies, just falling objects to avoid. The key is to go quickly, but
carefully. There's very little chance of beating this level without getting
hit at least once. Just be careful to avoid obstacles and you should be all
right. This level has no mini-boss.
*****************************************************************************
Stage Five Boss: Giant Exodus Spaceship
*****************************************************************************
Difficulty Level: 4.5/5 Recommended Weapon: Handgun
When this boss first comes out aim for his eye, and get in as many shots as
you can. The boss will begin to slowly move to the left after a little while.
Run under the bottom of the ship and when you come out on the other side
follow the same strategy on the second eye. After doing this twice the boss
should go down.
*****************************************************************************
Final Boss: Android (Human Metallic Skeleton)
*****************************************************************************
Difficulty Level: 3/5 Recommended Weapon: Grenade Launcher
To easily defeat this boss shoot at his head with your grenade launcher until
he bends down to punch at you. Then quickly jump over his head and run to the
opposite side of the screen has him. When he gets back up follow the same
procedure. Be careful not to let him punch you though, as each hit takes away
2 of your life bars.

Where are these terrorists?
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Journey to Silius was originally going to be a game based on the movie
Terminator but Sunsoft lost the license for some reason. That is why there is
very little plot to the game, and the terrorists never appear in the game,
only robots (thanks to Flying Omelet and dgiglio84 for this information).

Are there any codes?

In order to get a sound test and extra continues press B 33 times and press
start at the title screen. (Thanks to Dallas and the Gamefaqs.com code
database for this one)

About 5 days, using save states to save my spot.

What difficulty level would you give this game?
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
I'd say about a 4.5 of 5. One of the harder games I've played, although it's
really short.

Doesn't this game remind you of Mega Man?
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Somewhat. It's almost like a cross between Mega Man and Contra.
