For Cougar.  I miss you, and I hope you are living it up in the afterlife as
you did in this world.  You will always be in my memories, and you will
never be forgotten.

Also, In memory of Howler and Koonce.  You two never had a good start in
your lives, but you had a good time when you spent your time at my house.
It was oh so unfortunate that you both had your already tragic lives cut
short, but I can only hope that I helped make your life a more enjoyable
experience.  You too will be missed, but not forgotten.

-------------------------------Introduction---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) This game is a classic.  What it boils down to is the following:

  "Your brothers-in-arms are hostages behind enemy lines, and you're their
  only hope for freedom.  But the firepower you'll face to rescue them will
  be awesome.  Rescue the POW's in the buildings.  You'll need a pocket
  full of miracles, and the wild ferocity of a wild jackal."

  This is the story of your daunting task of turning the tide of the war,
  while rescuing all of your comrades.  Colonel Decker and Lieutenant Bob
  are team green (Player One), with Sergeant Quint and Corporal Grey
  lending some friendly fire to your cause as team brown (Player Two).
  With these wild men leading the charge, your side just may have the
  necessary tools to finally take down the bad guys.  So, once you are
  dropped off on the edge of the war zone, charge into battle fearlessly,
  and keep shooting till your team is the only thing left moving!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------Controls----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) This section will review the controls for your jeep.

D-Pad   : Whichever direction you press, your jeep will turn about and then
         move that direction.  Keep in mind that if you start to go in
         another direction, your jeeps front will have to wheel about,
         meaning your missile/grenade aim will be turning as well.

SELECT  : Changes option between One or Two Players.

START   : Confirms selection of number of Players on opening screen. It also
         pauses/unpauses the game.

B Button: Holding this down will cause your mounted machine gun to fire.
         Pressing it rapidly will cause faster fire from your jeep.

A Button: Pressing this Button will cause your jeep to fire a grenade or
         missile (depending on your ordinance).  You can only fire one at a
         time.  Grenades can be shot over obstacles, but missiles can not.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------Items----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) This section will review anything you can collect in this game to help
  your chances of actually pulling off this near impossible mission.  Keep
  in mind that the Stars are rather rare and hard to find, so e-mail me
  with any info you may have on these elusive objects.

                                o----------o
                                | P.O.W.'s |
                                o----------o

These guys are housed in buildings along the war lines.  You can pick them
up as you go along in your Jeep (they all fit somehow).  They have no real
purpose till later when you get them to the helipad pick-up location,
garnering some extra points for your score.

                            o------------------o
                            | Officer P.O.W.'s |
                            o------------------o

These guys are housed by themselves, and they have an added bonus as well.
Whenever you get one, you upgrade your weaponry (from grenades to Missiles
to Missiles with horizontal splash damage to Missiles with horizontal and
vertical splash damage).  They also appear as a slightly differently
coloured than their regular P.O.W.'s counterparts.

                               o------------o
                               | Brown Star |
                               o------------o

These are smart bombs that will eliminate all opponents on the screen.  They
are found by shooting the area they are located in, but they are invisible
till you shoot them.

                               o------------o
                               | Green Star |
                               o------------o

This rare find has the lovely effect of a 1-Up for your Jeep!  Thanks to all
those who e-mailed me the proper effect this Star has on your game.  These
also remain hidden till shot, revealing them.

                             o---------------o
                             | Flashing Star |
                             o---------------o

This completely power-ups your heavy artillery weapon to have Missiles with
both horizontal and vertical splash damage.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Enemies----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) This section will list the multitude of different opponents you will face
  on your missions, and how they attack you.  A strategy for each will also
  be included, although many enemies are rather self explanatory.

                            o-----------------o
                            | Artillery Truck |
                            o-----------------o

These orange trucks will launch a spread of mortar fire at you, so throw a
Grenade/Missile or several bullets its way to stop the bombardment.

                                o--------o
                                | Bomber |
                                o--------o

These brown planes fly through the air quickly, and they drop multiple payloads
in an attempt to get your jeep.  One Missile/Grenade will finish it off, but
bullets can not make contact.

                                o---------o
                                | Boulder |
                                o---------o

These are traps set by the enemy so that they trigger when you enter a narrow
canyon with the boulder perched above so they can fall on you.  One
Grenade/Missile or several  bullets will turn them into dust.

                              o------------o
                              | Brown Tank |
                              o------------o

A common armored enemy for you to face as you go along, they will roll onto the
scene, ready to shoot a few bullets of their own at you.  One Grenade/Missile
will shred them, or three bullets if you like to go that route.

                               o-----------o
                               | Bull Tank |
                               o-----------o

A large grey tank that shoots large artillery rounds at you.  It is fast, and
very aggressive, so land your Grenade/Missile shot quickly.  In a pinch, six
bullets will also stop this charging mechanical beast.

                                o--------o
                                | Cannon |
                                o--------o

These little launchers shoot sets of bullets at you in an attempt to gun you
down.  They are stationary, but are usually placed in larger groups so they can
work your over in tandem.  One Grenade/Missile will finish them, or two well
placed bullets of your own will do the job as well.

                                o---------o
                                | Chopper |
                                o---------o

These enemy aircraft will show up when you are dropping P.O.W.'s off in their
Headquarters.  They come in fast, shoot a lot of bullets, and hard to avoid.
One Grenade/Missile will wipe it out, but bullets have no effect.

                             o--------------o
                             | Cliff Cannon |
                             o--------------o

These hard to hit enemies take one Grenade/Missile to wipe out.  They shoot
large mortar shots that have great range so be wary when approaching.

                             o---------------o
                             | Covered Truck |
                             o---------------o

These guys just roll along in an attempt to hit you if you get in their way,
otherwise they just ignore you.  The usual one Grenade/Missile or several
bullets will cure your problems with this enemy.

                               o-----------o
                               | Destroyer |
                               o-----------o

Shoots multiple bullets at you, but it is no tougher than a Patrol Boat (one
Grenade/Missile or several bullets).

                            o-----------------o
                            | Dictator's Base |
                            o-----------------o

Does not attack you, but it takes fifteen hits to wipe out to destroy the
Headquarters.

                              o-------------o
                              | Enemy Jeeps |
                              o-------------o

These grey counterparts of yours try to hit you with some odd looking Grenades,
so just shoot them first to rid yourself of their presence (one Grenade/Missile
or two bullets).

                                o---------o
                                | Frigate |
                                o---------o

A darker grey colour, this boat has the same properties as the other types of
boats (one Grenade/Missile or several bullets).

                                o--------o
                                | Garage |
                                o--------o

Not an enemy per say, but they produce tanks to come after you.

                               o-----------o
                               | Gatehouse |
                               o-----------o

A combined attack of garage producing tanks, and Machine Guns on the roof.

                               o------------o
                               | Heavy Tank |
                               o------------o

The co-bosses of Level One, these guys take two Grenades/Missiles to level, and
they are fast, also shooting long-range bullets.  Hit and run to finish these
guys off, remembering an orange-coloured Heavy means it is damaged.

                               o------------o
                               | Helicopter |
                               o------------o

The boss of Level our, this large machine will shoot at you before dropping some
Infantry before retreating.  Seven Grenades/Missiles will put it down.

                                o-----------o
                                | Huge Tank |
                                o-----------o

This is the end boss, and it has a flame cannon and a mounted machine gun to
molest you with.  After twenty-five hits, this behemoth finally gives up the
ghost, but not before it has likely taken many of your lives.  Also note that a
few direct hits to the Mahcine gun will destroy it before the entire Tank gets
scrapped.

                                o----------o
                                | Infantry |
                                o----------o

These guys are the most common enemy you will face.  They walk slowly around,
occasionally popping off a shot.  They will also be found guarding certain
areas likes gates and bridges (they shoot more often from these set positions).
They are an easily defeated enemy with 1 shot of either weapon, and you can run
them down as well.  However, you should never underestimate them, as one bullet
is enough to take one jeep away from your reserves.

                               o------------o
                               | Land Mines |
                               o------------o

These babies CAN NOT be killed, so do not bother trying (unless you want to
sacrifice a jeep to do so).  They appear on your sensors (they appear on screen)
as you near them, so if you see one, be wary of many others appearing.  Keep
your eyes peeled from level four onwards.

                             o---------------o
                             | Laser Cannons |
                             o---------------o

These shoot lasers rapidly in many directions (90 and 45 degrees), so avoid at
all costs.  They take three  Grenades/Missiles to beat, and bullets do not hurt
them.

                              o--------------o
                              | Machine Guns |
                              o--------------o

These are automated guns found in rooftops, and they fire many bullets at you.
One Grenade/Missile will kill them, but bullets can not reach them.

                                 o---------o
                                 | Missile |
                                 o---------o

Launched by Missile Launchers, these bad boys can only be taken down with one
Grenade/Missile of your own.

                            o------------------o
                            | Missile Launcher |
                            o------------------o

These ground based enemies do not move, but they do launch deadly projectiles in
homing Missiles.  One Grenade/Missile will put them out of commission.

                              o-------------o
                              | Napalm Tank |
                              o-------------o

These huge brown coloured machines will shoot large amounts of their liquid fire
(napalm) to try and get you.  One Grenade/Missile or a fair amount of bullets
will take them down.

                              o-------------o
                              | Patrol Boat |
                              o-------------o

These green boats will pull up on a river, and they will start to shoot large
amounts of bullets your way.  Usually positioned in hard to hit places on the
river, you are best to avoid these guys.  One Grenade/Missile will kill them
off, or a few well placed bullets.

                                o---------o
                                | Pillars |
                                o---------o

These fall to the ground in an attempt to plow right through your jeep.  At
this point, recon is unsure if these are booby-traps, or if they are just
collateral damage from your enemy's original invasion.  One Grenade/Missile or
seven bullets will clear the path once more for you.

                             o---------------o
                             | Spread Cannon |
                             o---------------o

These gun placements are by far the most viscous non-boss enemy in the first
three levels.  They stay underground where they are invulnerable to your
firepower, only popping up to shoot an incredible volley of bullets at you.
Although one Grenade/Missile will kill it off, I have yet to be crazy enough
to attempt bullet killing.  Do your best to avoid, or to kill off quickly.

                                o--------o
                                | Statue |
                                o--------o

They shoot homing missiles while sitting there.  They take three
Grenades/Missiles to destroy them, but bullets do not hurt them at all.
However, bullets will kill off their homing missiles.

                              o-----------o
                              | Submarine |
                              o-----------o

These babies patrol underwater, where they can not be hurt nor can they fire
on you.  Once they surface, one Grenade/Missile  or several bullets will
finish it off, but it will shoot a Missile of it's own at your jeep.

                           o-----------------o
                           | Super Destroyer |
                           o-----------------o

With six mounted Spread Cannons on the decks, it is a formidable opponent.
Start on the far right or far left, and hit each Spread Cannon twice to
disable that Cannon.  Really try to avoid the incoming shots first as
opposed to killing the cannons off quickly as this will conserve your spare
Jeeps.

                             o--------------o
                             | Water Statue |
                             o--------------o

These blue fellas shoot a single missile out on a predetermined trajectory.
One Grenade/Missile will finish them, but bullets have no effect.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------Level One Walkthrough---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) This section will cover the Front Lines.  For the purpose of the
  walkthrough, I will be using the compass directions as they are usually
  displayed on a map (i.e. UP = North, DOWN = SOUTH, LEFT = West,
  RIGHT = East).

A helicopter drops you off at the outskirts of your territory, and you are
immediately accosted by some scouting Infantry for the enemy.  Make your way
North as you take them down, and be sure to start shading to the right so
you will find the first Officer P.O.W. building.  Shoot the building to open
it up, and then collect the Officer to upgrade your weaponry to Missiles.

Continue North fighting past the Infantry and Cannons that accost you until
you find two Cannons with two stationary Infantry guarding a walled
compound.  Bust the gate down with a heavy fire ordinance (Missile/Grenade),
and head into the area taking out the scattered Infantry.  Once the
immediate threats have been neutralized, start busting opening the P.O.W.
buildings to pick up 10 regular P.O.W.'s as well as an Officer (further
powering up your weapon).  Take out the remaining Infantry guard, and roll
on out to the next challenge.

You face some random Infantry as you continue North until you find a
stationary Infantry guarding a bridge across the river you have been
skirting.  As you head across two Patrol Boats will fire many volleys of
bullets at you, but do not worry because if you head across the bridge
quickly, they will never hit you (or you can fight them, but that is a
needless action that could lead to loss of a jeep).  Anyway, after getting
across safely, go to the West side of the land (by the tree line), and then
head North where you run into your first Brown Tank (but not your last).
After you get rid of this menace, roll your attack North once more to take
out the stationary Infantry guarding the Officer P.O.W., which you should
bust out to power your weaponry up.

As you head North here, you will see a white helicopter fly overhead, which
are your allies bringing in a pick-up for your entire P.O.W. rescues.  So now
you are racing the clock (they can only land for so long in enemy territory
before being forced to take off), so head North through the Infantry and the
barriers in front of the Cannons.  If you go up the right side, in the
North-East corner of the open field, you can find a Brown Star, which will
eliminate all opponents on the screen.

Head through the opening in the trees on the West, go up to the Officer
P.O.W. building (after you relieve the stationary Infantry of his command),
and then turn East where you shoot through the four Cannons, and then remove
the Infantry from the area around the helipad before you park your Jeep on
the pavement where it says STOP.  Your P.O.W.'s will then start to run out
of your jeep one-by-one (if the helicopter is still there), and once they
have finally finished, the helicopter will take off, so you now just have to
finish the stage off (after the helicopter pick-up the level is nearly
complete).  Also note that dropping enough P.O.W.'s will result in a bonus of
heavy artillery weapon upgrade, so collect as many as you can in each level!

As you head North, the tree line narrows to a bottleneck where four
stationary Infantry lie in ambush (lay them out at your leisure).  After
this, you will come to a larger area with a few trees, and the music changes
suddenly signaling the BOSS!

                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            ~~~BOSS FIGHT!~~~
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Heavy Tanks will enter one at a time, and they are easily the toughest
enemy to date.  They enter as the colour blue, but after one
Missile/Grenade, they change to brown, followed by exploding if another
Missile/Grenade makes connection.  To win, use the tree cover to your
advantage to block their bullets as you use hit and run tactics on their
superior numbers and firepower.
  Congratulations on beating the enemy lines back!  This is a great victory
  for your side, but you can not stop now.  You can be sure that the enemy
  will have moved up some better forces as well as a lot more quantity of
  their current forces as well!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------Level Two Walkthrough---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
7) This section will cover the Wrecked City.  For the purpose of the
  walkthrough, I will be using the compass directions as they are usually
  displayed on a map (i.e. UP = North, DOWN = SOUTH, LEFT = West,
  RIGHT = East).
Right off the bat, Infantry and a Brown Tank come at you, so go with all
your weapons blazing to put the hurt on your opposition.  Next, bust the
Officer P.O.W. out of his prison, and then take out the two Cannons to the
North.  Head up through the narrow opening, destroy/avoid the Bomber before
you face an Enemy Jeep.  To the right is the first Water Statue (if you want
to see one early on for kicks), otherwise head North to remove the two
stationary Infantry before you rampage through the gate of the walled-in
compound to find some P.O.W.'s.
Clear out the Infantry guards, rescue the ten P.O.W.'s and the one Officer
P.O.W. before busting the back gate, and heading out to fight a Bull Tank.
Then, you get to take out the two Cannons, head North and then West into the
white path past the Infantry just as the helicopter speeds by overhead (so
once again, speed is an issue).
Continue West fighting off the Infantry, and once you enter the narrow
corridor between the two lines of columns, throw a Grenade/Missile at the
most Southern part of the corridor to find a Flashing Star (this will give
your Missile full upgrades).  Head North while fighting Infantry and a
Bomber, and then a Brown Tank before you finally find the corridor to take
you Northward once more.
Take out the Cannon, head back onto the dirt once more as you fight a couple
Infantry before you tangle with a falling Pillar.  Head North onto the grass
where an Officer P.O.W. awaits pick-up in his detention centre, and then
wipe out the three Cannons, the Brown Tank, the Bull Tank, and then the
Bomber before depositing your P.O.W.'s into the helicopter.
Next you face an Enemy Jeep, a falling Pillar, and another Cannon before you
go back onto the dirt surface where a falling Pillar and an Enemy Jeep will
accost you.  Next, this whole area is ripe with Pillars, and a few Enemy
Jeeps along with one Bomber before you have to face two stationary Infantry.
Next up is a narrow bridge that has four Water Statues, Infantry, Enemy
Jeep, and two Bombers that make for a very nasty attack (go slowly to reduce
the number of opponents you have to face at one time).  Take out the two
Cannons on the far side while dodging Infantry volleys, followed by cutting
to the right to go and shoot Grenades/Missiles between the pillars lining the
water below to find a Green Star (an extra Jeep!).  Go a little farther North
to battle two more Cannons, and then move further North again to hear an
alarm with the music change, so you KNOW it is BOSS fighting time!
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            ~~~BOSS FIGHT!~~~
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You face four Statues, and they launch homing missiles at you.  If the
missiles become too abundant, start to run with the idea of just dodging the
shots, and not worrying about shooting the statues at all.  You should also
try to eliminate the Brown Tanks as soon as they appear, because they
greatly complicate the fight when approahcing from below!

  Congratulations on beating the enemy lines back!  This is a great victory
  for your side, but you can not stop now.  You can be sure that the enemy
  will have moved up some better forces as well as a lot more quantity of
  their current forces as well!

---------------------------Level Three Walkthrough--------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

8) This section will cover the Shipyards.  For the purpose of the
  walkthrough, I will be using the compass directions as they are usually
  displayed on a map (i.e. UP = North, DOWN = SOUTH, LEFT = West,
  RIGHT = East).

You start at the walls of the shipyard, so you need to find a gate to go
bust down.  Head East to find an Infantry guarding the gate, so break them
both, and then take care of the Infantry and the Brown Tank upon entering.
Head West to find another Brown Tank, a Cannon, and some Infantry.  If you
go look at the water, a Destroyer will pull up firing it's guns off, so send
a Grenade/Missile to send it into the water.

Head North-East past Cannons, Infantry, and a Brown Tank to find two P.O.W.
detention centres.  After liberating your buddies, head North once more to
find three separate paths over the water, all of which face some kind of
threat from the ships in the naval yard (Frigate, Destroyer, or Submarine)
as well as ground based threats like Infantry, Tanks.  During your sprint
across the narrow pathway, the helicopter will also pass overhead, so get
ready to hustle to the helipad pick-up.

Once you are back onto the larger surface, head North-West to find some more
P.O.W. buildings, and be sure to shoot the parked Enemy Jeep South of the
P.O.W. building on the right to cause a weapon powering Flashing Star to
appear.  Now, head North once more to find a Brown Tank and Infantry
guarding a corridor where laser traps await you.  You must move past the
area they guard during their downtime, so edge up to the first one, sprint
when it is down, shoot the Brown Tank, go through the next two, kill the
Infantry, and then prepare for the second leg of these traps.  Shoot the two
Brown Tanks upon going up, clear out the Infantry, and then use the same
strategies you used on the lasers below to get through the three lasers here
(make sure to shoot the remaining charging Brown Tanks).

Kill the stationary Infantry at the entrance to the next area, go North to
find a Covered Truck, a Cannon, Brown Tanks, and Infantry all adding to the
clutter and confusion of this area.  Now bust up the Cannons in your way,
followed by the remaining Brown Tanks and Infantry before sending the
P.O.W.'s home on the white "helicopter of hope" (patent pending).

Kill the Infantry around the gate as you break it down, and then head North
to where four Cannons and some Infantry are laying down some severe cover
fire.  If you shoot the area below the two Cannons on the right, a Brown
Star will become visible, which will wipe out all of your opposition once
collected.

Bust the next gate, head through, and then shoot the Spread Cannon before it
sends a volley of bullets your way (do the same on the other side of the
pathway if you wish to).  Kill off the two Brown Tanks to the North, but
your alarm sounds, which indicates a BOSS fight!

                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            ~~~BOSS FIGHT!~~~
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Super Destroyer had six Spread Cannons mounted on it's deck, so you need
to destroy those same cannons to win.  Try to start on the far left or the
far right of the Super Destroyer, and try to take out the Brown Tanks as
they appear to give yourself a better chance of surviving the most lopsided
battle against you to date in the game.
  Congratulations on beating the enemy lines back!  This is a great victory
  for your side, but you can not stop now.  You can be sure that the enemy
  will have moved up some better forces as well as a lot more quantity of
  their current forces as well!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------Level Four Walkthrough---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
9) This section will cover the Mountain Pass.  For the purpose of the
  walkthrough, I will be using the compass directions as they are usually
  displayed on a map (i.e. UP = North, DOWN = SOUTH, LEFT = West,
  RIGHT = East).
You start on the soggy pass with Infantry and a Brown Tank already present
to start your headaches this level a little earlier.  As you head North,
fighting past some more Infantry and Brown Tanks, be sure to try and avoid
the water logged portions of the pass, which will slow you down, and in turn
will make you a much easier target for the enemy.  There is one other major
danger to watch out for in this section: the Missile Launchers.  These
appear to be white disruptions in the swampy ground, but they launch these
Missiles at you (shoot the source to eliminate them permanently).
Once you clear the swampland, you run into an old trick of the enemies:
Cannons and Infantry.  Clear these fellas out right away, and then choose
between the left fork or the right fork.  The LEFT FORK pits you against
Infantry, Brown Tanks, Boulders, and an Artillery Truck.  Make your way
slowly up the narrow path between the swamps, and keep your heavy artillery
blasting away before you liberate the Officer P.O.W.  On the RIGHT FORK, you
face Boulders and Land Mines.  Drive up through the Land Mines (they appear
as you near them), and then bait the Boulders to fall so you can blow them
up safely before you liberate an Officer P.O.W. from the Infantry guarding
him.  Once you have arrived at the end of your one fork, cut across to the
other side where you will liberate the remaining Officer P.O.W.
Two Cannons and a stationary Infantry guard against your entrance to the
P.O.W. detention centre, so give them a few shots for being so dumb before
you bust the gate down, and roll on in.  Go in killing the Infantry, kill
the two Cannons in the North-East segment of the yard (they are getting
better Defense at these places!), and then pick-up the P.O.W.'s and the
Officer P.O.W. before breaking the North gate down to roll onwards with the
helicopter.
Kill the Brown Tank, go East to get another P.O.W. Officer, and then head
North to take out a Missile Launcher on the mountain.  Then, head West past
the Infantry, Land Mines, Boulders, and a Brown Tank near the railroad.
Between the two falling Boulders, a Train will appear on the tracks from
behind you with the intent of riddling you full of holes with its guns, so
blow the whole thing up to take care of these problems before continuing
North to where you hug the East wall of the mountain.  Kill the Brown Tanks
and the Artillery Truck before heading North-East to where you need to wipe
out a couple of Cannons and a Brown Tank by the helipad.
After dropping your P.O.W.'s off at the pick-up site, continue North once
more to tangle with four Cannons, and then three Brown Tanks before the
handy dandy alarm goes off to bring in the music change, which of course
signals a BOSS fight!
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            ~~~BOSS FIGHT!~~~
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Helicopter comes onto the screen to spray the area full of bullets, but
your job is to throw Grenades/Missiles its way.  After a few exchanges, the
enemy will send three paratroopers (really Infantry worth 10 points each).
Just repeat the process till you hit the Helicopter seven times to move on
to the next area.

  Congratulations on beating the enemy lines back!  This is a great victory
  for your side, but you can not stop now.  You can be sure that the enemy
  will have moved up some better forces as well as a lot more quantity of
  their current forces as well!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------Level Five Walkthrough---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

10)This section will cover the Training Grounds.  For the purpose of the
  walkthrough, I will be using the compass directions as they are usually
  displayed on a map (i.e. UP = North, DOWN = SOUTH, LEFT = West,
  RIGHT = East).

Start my immediately busting the Officer P.O.W. out of his building, take
out the Infantry on the screen, and then head North across the bridge to
take out the Brown Tank.  ON the far bank, three Stationary Infantry and a
Bull Tank await you there, and after you finish with them, bust the gate to
go after to face a Brown Tank and a Cannon before you bust out the P.O.W.'s.

Exit through the North-West gate, kill the Infantry, ignore the building on
the left as it is a trap with a Bull Tank hiding inside (not an Officer
P.O.W.), and then bust the gate to fight some more Infantry and a Bull Tank.

Next you have a choice of three bridges.  The LEFT BRIDGE has Land Mines,
Infantry, a Bomber, a Bull Tank, and a Cliff Cannon to give you headaches.
The CENTRE BRIDGE has Infantry, a Brown Tank, a Bull Tank, a Bomber, and two
Cliff Cannons to accost you.  You can also get a Green Star on this bridge
(about halfway across on the West border of the bridge), but I do not know
what effect the star has).  The RIGHT BRIDGE has Infantry, a Bull Tank, a
Bomber, and a Cliff Cannon to attack you.

Whatever bridge you chose, you come to the other side to face Bull Tanks,
Brown Tanks, and Infantry that guard an Officer P.O.W. on the East.  Going
through the narrow opening you face two bunkered Cannons (lob Grenades or
move in quickly to kill one off at a time), and then two Brown Tanks and a
Bull Tank after that with some Infantry.  Head East to find two more
bunkered Cannons and a Brown Tank for you to tangle with, followed by
another Brown Tank behind the barriers as your allied helicopter flies
overhead.

Head West to face three Cannons, and then alter course to the North-East to
trash three stationary Infantry before busting the gate down. Enter the
walled-in compound to face a Bull Tank, followed by a Napalm Tank before you
get to bust out some P.O.W.'s.  Two Cannons, Infantry, and a Bull Tank will
greet your exiting of that area, so give them some Grenade/Missile
treatment before you head West to bust out the Officer P.O.W.

Kill the Brown Tanks, the Infantry, the Napalm Tank, and the Cliff Cannons
as you cross the bridge, and then you have to deal with a couple bunkered
Cannons with some infantry support.  Go West around the barriers to get an
Officer P.O.W., and then go back under the barriers to go West under the
barriers to park on the helipad where you aim North-West with your
Grenade/Missile while you drop your P.O.W.'s off (this allows defense
against any enemies charging at you), although you need to be wary of
Bombers from the North as well.

After the drop off, go North-West through the gate to fight some Cannons, a
Napalm Tank, a Brown Tank, and some Infantry before your alarm goes off to
signal a BOSS FIGHT!

                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            ~~~BOSS FIGHT!~~~
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Gatehouse is a virtual Juggernaut of an opponent.  It has five Machine
Guns on the roof, and it has four garages that release Brown Tanks and Bull
Tanks at timed intervals.  Start by shooting the Machine Guns on one side of
the gate, and then throw a Grenade/Missile into the opening garages before a
tank comes out to destroy that garage.  Then you just have to repeat the
same procedures on the right side of the gate.  After that, you just need
one Grenade/Missile to break the gate, and end the battle.
  Congratulations on beating the enemy lines back!  This is a great victory
  for your side, but you can not stop now.  You can be sure that the enemy
  will have moved up some better forces as well as a lot more quantity of
  their current forces as well!
----------------------------Level Six Walkthrough---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
11)This section will cover the Headquarters.  For the purpose of the
  walkthrough, I will be using the compass directions as they are usually
  displayed on a map (i.e. UP = North, DOWN = SOUTH, LEFT = West,
  RIGHT = East).
You start on the opposite side of a fence from Infantry and three Brown
Tanks, so Take as many as you can out as you head West to the opening to go
up to behind the fence.  Watch out for the Machine Guns and some more Brown
Tanks as the helicopter (very early appearance!) flies over head.  Go bust
the P.O.W.'s out after the enemies are cleared, and then take out the
stationary Infantry before you break and roll through the gate.
Brown Tanks greet you as you go through the gate as well as a Bomber from
behind, so be ready to do a fair amount of shooting.  Bust out the P.O.W.'s
on both the West and East walls before heading North to bust through the
West gate.
Go East, bust up any Infantry, Machine Guns, and Enemy Jeeps in your way,
and then drop off the P.O.W.'s at the helipad (make sure to aim North and be
ready for an enemy Choppers to attack).  Head North through Infantry, Brown
Tanks, and Enemy Jeeps to get through the next gate.
Shoot the Spread Cannon immediately, shoot any Brown Tanks that appear, and
then destroy the Machine Guns (two on each roof) before you head North up
the narrow alley.  Be ready for a charging enemy Chopper, a Brown Tank, and
then Infantry as you turn East to go find a gate to bust up.
Kill the Enemy Jeep, take on the four Brown Tanks (shoot the West-most Tank
driveway to locate a hidden a Flashing Star), and then head West to face a
Spread Cannon, Infantry, and another enemy Chopper.  Drive North past some
fencing, and you will be attacked by multiple Brown Tanks from the front, and
an Enemy Jeep from the back (take the Enemy Jeep out first as it closes in
faster).  After that little ambush, head East taking out any Machine Guns you
see, take out the Brown Tanks, and then get the Spread Cannon before you head
North once more.
Wreck the Machine Guns on the East roof, watch out for the Bomber, and then
go through the gate to see a fence guarding two Missile Launchers.  Take out
the Missile Launchers and Machine Guns (do not be surprised if one of them
gets you here, EXTREMELY TOUGH segment), and then head North to the conveyor
belt.  Shoot each Machine Gun (one to a side) as you progress upwards.
Shoot the two stationary Infantry and the Brown Tank before you break the
gate as you push through to fight an enemy Chopper coming from behind.  As
you head North, stop going upwards when you see the insignia of the enemy on
the ground, and start to clean out all of the Infantry and Brown Tanks you
can because a little farther up is the BOSS fight!
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            ~~~BOSS FIGHT!~~~
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An enemy Chopper will buzz in to complicate your life here, so take it out
before you start to shoot the Laser Cannons on the roof (three shots).  Keep
in mind that Brown Tanks, will be rolling in while you do this, so keep
moving.  After the Laser Cannons are smoldering wrecks, shoot the
Dictator's Base fifteen times to put an end to his evil!  BUT WAIT, A HUGE
TANK APPEARS!!!

                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                       ~~~BOSS FIGHT... AGAIN!~~~
                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Huge Tank has a flame spewing cannon, and it also has a mounted Machine
Gun as well.  Your job is to dodge both of the projectile types it has, and
to throw the odd Grenade/Missile attack at it.  This ugly beast takes about
twenty-five hits to die, so keep working at it.  After fifteen hits, it will
turn red, after another five it will become even more red, and then five
more well placed Grenades/Missiles will turn into scrap iron.
  Congratulations on beating an incredibly hard game!  Take a mini-break
  before the game loops your back into Level 1 so you can continue your
  racking up of points!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
12)This section will look at each boss in-depth, and give you all the stats
  needed to win and do well against them.
                            o-------------o
                            | Heavy Tanks |
                            o-------------o
Number Of Hits: 2 Grenades/Missiles
Appearance....: Large Blue Tanks, Large Brown Tanks after one hit
Difficulty....: 6.5/10
To win, use the tree cover to your advantage to block their bullets as you
use hit and run tactics on their superior numbers and firepower.  Also, try
to pick them off one at a time, or you may be overwhelmed by their huge
numbers.
                              o---------o
                              | Statues |
                              o---------o
Number Of Hits: 3 Grenades/Missiles
Appearance....: Four White Busts of the Enemy Leader
Difficulty....: 8/10
You face four Statues, and they launch homing missiles at you.  Those
missiles will eventually lose their aim, but it is best to use your machine
gun on taking them out as you launch Grenades/Missiles at the Statues
themselves.  If the missiles become too abundant, start to run with the idea
of just dodging the shots, and not worrying about shooting the statues at
all.  You should also try to eliminate the Brown Tanks as soon as they
appear, because they greatly complicate the fight when approahcing from below.
                           o-----------------o
                           | Super Destroyer |
                           o-----------------o
Number Of Hits: 2 per Spread Cannon (12 total hits)
Appearance....: A large Naval Ship with Six Spread Cannons Mounted on the
               Deck.
Difficulty....: 9/10
Try to start on the far left or the far right of the Super Destroyer, and
try to take out the Brown Tanks as they appear to give yourself a better
chance of surviving the most lopsided battle against you to date in the
game.  Also, be sure to avoid the bullets as your primary objective, because
it is a far better strategy than just kamikazing.
                            o------------o
                            | Helicopter |
                            o------------o
Number Of Hits: 7 Grenades/Missiles
Appearance....: Large Grey Helicopter
Difficulty....: 4/10
This is a rather easy boss that has no particular threat to you, although it
does throw a fair amount of bullets out at you.  After a few exchanges, the
enemy will send three paratroopers (really Infantry worth 10 points each)
down to try and get you.  A rather easy boss, but never take any enemy
lightly, or your jeep will end up a fiery mess.
                            o-----------o
                            | Gatehouse |
                            o-----------o
Number Of Hits: 1 per obstacle (five Machine Guns, and four Garages)
Appearance....: Large Wall with lots of guns and tanks
Difficulty....: 5/10
It has five Machine Guns on the roof, and it has four garages that release
Brown Tanks and Bull Tanks at timed intervals.  Start by shooting the Machine
Guns on one side of the gate, and then throw a Grenade/Missile into the
opening garages before a tank comes out to destroy that garage.  Then you
just have to repeat the same procedures on the right side of the gate.  After
that, you just need one Grenade/Missile to break the gate, and end the battle.
                          o--------------o
                          | Headquarters |
                          o--------------o
Number Of Hits: 3 per Laser Cannon (6 total), 15 for Dictator's Office
Appearance....: A large building with laser cannons mounted on it
Difficulty....: 9/10
An enemy Chopper will buzz in to complicate your life here, so take it out
before you start to shoot the Laser Cannons on the roof (three shots).  Keep
in mind that Brown Tanks, will be rolling in while you do this, so keep
moving.  After the Laser Cannons are smoldering wrecks, shoot the
Dictator's Office fifteen times to put an end to his evil!  BUT WAIT,  A
HUGE TANK APPEARS!!!
                           o-----------o
                           | Huge Tank |
                           o-----------o
Number Of Hits: 25
Appearance....: A HUGE TANK with a Machine Gun mounted on it.
Difficulty....: 10/10
After fifteen hits, it will turn red, after another five it will become even
more red, and then five more well placed Grenades/Missiles will turn into
scrap iron.  Try to hide on the extreme East or West so the Flame Cannon it
has can not hit you.  Just move up to lob a shot at it once in a while, and
you will wear it down.
  Jackal is a great game that combines the challenge of older gaming with
  the fast-paced action that many still enjoy with shooters of today.  You
  face incredibly harsh odds, and yet you get only a handful of lives to try
  and win with.  A definite game that needs to be played to pay tribute to a
  quality NES game from the great age of game quality/challenge.  As for
  length it is a shorter shoot 'em game, but it more than makes up for it
  with the excessive amounts of enemies and tricky placements of obstacles
  that take great practice to bypass.
