Ganbare Goemon Gaiden 2 is the second and last RPG game for the Famicom to
feature the legendary Goemon and his friends. If you played the first game,
you will quickly realize that this game is a bit tougher, which is good since
you need to plan more appropriately in terms of what items to use, how often
to use special techniques in battle, etc. You generally have a three-person
party, though over the course of the game you will have a temporary fourth
member to assist you. There are some other minor improvements over the first
game, but other than that, it is the same type of game. There is a lot of
exploration to be done, and plenty of secrets. I highly recommend this game!

========
Pre-Game
========
At the title screen, you will come to a menu screen with the following two
options:
New Game (はじめる)
Continue (つづける)
If you are starting a new game, you will have the option to enter your name.
Once you do that, the game will begin!
========
Gameplay
========
As you would expect, this game is played from a top-down perspective. All
actions are done through a command screen, which appears when you press A.
Those commands are as follows:
Item (どうぐ): View your party member's items, and Use (つかう), Equip
(そうび), or Throw Away (すてる).
Technique (わざ): View/use your party member's techniques.
Record (きろく): Save your game.
Status (ようす): View your current party's status.
Rank (ならび): Arrange your party's lineup for battle.
In order to equip your characters, you need to first select the item to equip
on the item screen, followed by the Equip command. You then select the party
member you want to equip that item on. Finally, you must pick the location
for that item to be placed (weapon, head, body, arms). If it is not able to
be worn, you will see a message and the screens will close. You can only
equip one piece at a time in this manner. To un-equip, you select an empty
space in your inventory and "equip" that in the selected player's slot.
A big improvement from the first game is that you can now sell items at the
equipment shop. Also, the weapon/armor shops have been combined into one,
with options to access the weapon and armor lists. Also, pretty much every
town has an Inn, and in this game they are of the traditional variety.
======
Battle
======
There are random encounters in this game, and the battles themselves are turn
based as you would expect. You enter your commands before the round of battle
commences, with the fastest units attacking first. The commands you have are:
Attack (たたかう): Use a regular attack.
Technique (わざ): Use a special technique (consumes NP).
Item (どうぐ): Use an item.
Rank (ならび): Adjust your party's formation.
Escape (にげる): Attempt to escape the battle.
Defend (ぼうぎょ): Defend against an incoming attack more strongly.
Auto (じどう): Allow the computer to automatically control your actions.
Certain Kill (ひっさつ): If you have four party members, you can perform a
super strong attack against all enemies. Be careful
since it drains your party's HP to use this move!
If during the battle you want to regain manual control (after selecting the
Auto command), press B repeatedly. There will be a pause once everyone's turn
has ended in that round of combat, and that is when you need to cancel the
automatic controls.

==============
Great Edo Town
==============
After watching the introductory scenes, you begin the game outside of a house
in this town. Your party again consists of Goemon and Ebisumaru to start. So,
take the time to wander around town briefly. The large department store
building in the south-central area is where all of the shops are; you enter
and choose a floor to visit (2F for weapons/armor, 3F for items, 4F for Inn,
5F for the recovery shrine if you have to remove status ailments or revive a
fallen ally).
For now, go to the equipment shop and buy the Small Pipe for Goemon. Then, go
to the item shop and buy a couple of Plum Rice Balls (うめおにぎり). You can
not afford much else at the moment, so leave here. Head into the Great Edo
Tower in the southwest area, since you are also not able to leave town.
===============
Great Edo Tower
===============
In here, you will be able to face enemies for the first time. I would highly
recommend you stay near the entrance while fighting until you both get to
Level 2 (Ebisumaru has a technique to recover HP, so use it). That way, you
can gain enough money to upgrade your equipment before moving further. You'll
want to buy the Festival Flute for Ebisumaru, and Travel Gauntlets and Sand
Hats for both party members. Do not hestitate to rest at the Inn either, as
it only costs 10 Ryou.
Anyway, on the first floor of the tower, there are six ways you can go. Begin
by taking the bottom path to the west. Open the chest to receive an End Taro
(はずれタロウ) recovery item. The bottom path on the east side leads to a
chest containing a Plum Rice Ball. The top path on the west side leads you to
20 Ryou in a chest, but the top-east path's chest is empty. The middle paths
all lead to stairs. First, take the western stairs up to 2F.
Go around the corner and open the chest along the way to find another End
Taro. Head up the stairs at the end to 3F, then go down the hall and back
down to 2F. In the small room, open the chest to receive 40 Ryou. Now, go
back down to the main room at 1F. This time, go up the stairs in the middle.
Go all the way up to 3F, then open the west chest to get an End Taro (the
east chest is empty). Then, go up the stairs to the south to reach 4F. Open
both chests to get an End Taro again (the other is empty), and talk to the
man standing on the stairs ahead. He will not move, so go back down to 1F.
Finally, take the eastern path and go up to 2F. Go around the corner and pass
the stairs for a moment, so you can open another chest to find 30 Ryou. Now,
head up to 3F and follow the path to the end. Open the chest and you will
receive the Mr. Elephant (これゾウくん) key item. With it, make your way back
down and exit the tower.
==============
Great Edo Town
==============
Back in town, head over to the starting building (it's the red one at the
north end). Inside, talk to the man and the tournament will begin. After it
ends, you will be back outside, but the guards will no longer be blocking the
way out of town. So, make your exit at last.
=========
Overworld
=========
Out here, start by heading northward onto the bridge. You will not get far,
as the bridge will be destroyed, with the bad guy floating away in a balloon!
Head back into town for now.
==============
Great Edo Town
==============
Since your initial departure did not work out, visit the guard house nearby.
There were guards inside before, but now they are gone, so head down and into
the underground passage. Follow it through to the end, defeating the enemies
along the way. You will emerge in a new area.
=========
Overworld
=========
At last, you made it off the starting island. So, enter the first village.
=============
Start Village
=============
Here, begin by visiting the shops and upgrading your equipment. Buy the Large
Pipe for Goemon and the Electric Flute for Ebisumaru, as well as the Beach
Armor and Gauntlet for Goemon, while Ebisumaru gets the Hokkamuri. You will
also want to buy some Antidotes from the item shop, as the enemies ahead can
poison you.
When you are done resting up here, head out of the village.
=========
Overworld
=========
Outside, head west and north around the mountains until you come to a desert.
You can not walk across the desert on your own, but there is a small building
at the start of it. Enter it and pay the man 5 Ryou to ride camels across the
desert ahead. You will be brought to a patch of land in the middle of the
desert, near a pyramid. To get back across, you can enter the building and
pay to ride a camel again. For now, enter the Pyramid.
=======
Pyramid
=======
Inside, you can go in two directions. Start by going east, then turning to
the south at the split. Follow the first westbound path to a chest containing
a Roller Skate. Go back and continue southward to another chest with 50 Ryou
inside. Next, return to the pyramid's entrance and head west this time. There
will be two paths leading to the south there. Take the west path to a chest
containing a Plum Rice Ball. Then, take the east path to the south. Go up the
stairs at the end to reach level 2F.
Continue northward here to reach a path split. First, head eastward. Open the
two chests over there to find another Large Pipe and an Antidote. Head back
and take the far west path to the south, and go upstairs to 3F. There, simply
follow the path around to some more stairs leading up to 4F. It is another
straightforward path for you to reach 5F.
Up on 5F, go forward until you reach a chest. Open it and you will read a
note that was inside. After that, the room will shake and the path behind you
will be blocked by a wall. Go north and a mysterious person will destroy that
wall, allowing you to escape. So, head north and down the stairs to 4F.
Down here again, you can either go west or south. Head to the south first and
open the two chests along that path to receive a Shipment and another Plum
Rice Ball. Now, go back and take the western path to some stairs leading down
to 3F. Continue through the next two rooms to reach 1F again, then go west
and exit to the north.
=========
Overworld
=========
Back outside, enter the small building nearby. There will now be two camels
waiting inside. Talk to the man if you want to go back to the Start Village,
otherwise talk to the bottom camel. Pay it 5 Ryou and it will take you to a
new area far to the northeast. When you arrive at that new location, head
east and enter the village.
===============
Raccoon Village
===============
In here, you will find that there are raccoons everywhere, and there are many
item shops, each one selling a different item. There is one particular
raccoon you need to speak with. It is located directly across the bridge
leading to the northern half of town. Talk to that raccoon and say yes when
prompted, and he will join you as a helper of sorts. When you access your
items, you will have a new option called Judgment (めきき). This option
basically gives you information on the selected item, by the looks of it.
Also in town is a place where you can store unused items (5 Ryou each) that
you can withdraw later, since you have a limited number of spaces in your
inventory. This is not a requirement though; use it if you want. Anyway, rest
at the Inn and buy supplies if needed before heading out.
=========
Overworld
=========
From the raccoon-filled village, head southward and across the bridge. Keep
going south and east until you reach some green patches. There will be an
alcove ahead to the north where the next village is located. Fight the
enemies in this area until your party is at Level 8, then enter the village
(you can rest at the Inn and continue fighting, too).
===============
Shaking Village
===============
Here, first visit the mayor in the far east house. Talk to him and he will
send you off to find a missing item hidden in the village's school. After
that, go to the northern portion of town to find the equipment shop. Buy new
armor for your party (as an added feature, the raccoon will show you who can
equip each item before you actually buy it at the shop). Once you do that,
rest at the Inn near the village entrance.
One new feature in this town is the game room, designated by the multi-color
door. You can win Bell Coupons by playing games. You get 1 coupon for every
100 Ryou you spend in the game, as well as by playing these games. You can
redeem them at a later time. See the Mini-Games section for more details.
Anyway, go to the north end and enter the large school building at the back.
=============
Temple School
=============
In this old school building, you will not have to deal with enemies, which
definitely helps a lot. Make sure you are at least up to Level 8, though. On
the first floor, go directly southward and open the chest near the middle of
the floor to receive 60 Ryou. Go eastward to get around this room, stopping
in the southeast corner to find another chest containing an Antidote. Then,
continue going around the room until you reach the stairs at the southern end
leading up to 2F.
Upstairs, go forward and take the Secret Mirror from the chest. Then, make
your way around to the northern area of the room. All the way in the back, go
up the stairs to 3F. Head down the hallway there until you reach the
intersection ahead, and you will see the ghost of a child walking by. Follow
it westward and then up to 4F. There, go forward and there will be two paths
leading northward. Take the first one to the north and open the chest at the
end to get a Salmon Rice Ball.
Now, go back and take the eastern path. Walk through the door to enter the
final room. Talk to the girl ahead and say yes, and you will enter into your
first boss battle. Read that section if you need help winning here. After the
battle, the girl will vanish and the spirit will dissipate. Head upstairs to
5F, where you will find a chest. Open it to receive the Stealing Wire, which
is used to open locked doors.
Since the school is now clear, make your way back out to reach the village
again. Rest up at the Inn, then go to the equipment shop and buy an extra
Chain Mail and Festival Headband before leaving (you will see why shortly).
=========
Overworld
=========
From the village, continue going eastward to reach some stairs. Go down them
to enter an underground passage. Approach the locked door and use your new
Stealing Wire to open it. Continue onward and open the chest at the end to
get a Mystery Plate. Take it and go up the stairs to exit the passage. Back
on the surface, head north and east to find a teahouse in front of a mountain
cave. You can pay a woman inside the house 10 Ryou to rest up. For now, keep
going all the way eastward until you find another small house next to the
water.
Inside the house, talk to the girl standing in the middle of the room. This
is Koryuuta and she is watching over her sick mother. Koryuuta will join your
party at this point! Now is a good time to equip Koryuuta with the Chain Mail
and Festival Headband I had suggested you buy before you left town before. If
you did not, go buy it now or her defenses will be too low.
Anyway, leave the house and head back westward to the teahouse. Fight around
until Koryuuta gains a level, then rest up inside. Approach the mountain cave
and search the entrance to have Koryuuta clear the barrier blocking access.
Now, go forward and enter the cave.
================
Barrier Mountain
================
In this area, start by going eastward. At the first path split, go north to
find a chest containing an Antidote. Backtrack and head east some more until
you reach the second intersection. Go north at that point and take the second
eastbound path to a chest containing a Salmon Rice Ball. Continue going to
the north and take the last path going to the east. Open the chest at the end
to find 80 Ryou.
From here, go west and you will see the path branch off, with two paths going
westward. Take the upper path first to reach one more chest with another 100
Ryou inside. Then, go back around and take the other path to the west. At the
end, go up the stairs to exit the mountain.
=========
Overworld
=========
From here, go north to find another Teahouse. You can rest for free by
talking to the cat inside. To the northwest is a bridge, but it is currently
broken. So, head eastward and pay 10 Ryou at the train station to ride the
train across the bay. At the other end, go south and enter a new village.
=======
Dondoko
=======
In here, head south to the equipment shop and buy some new gear for everyone,
including weapons (Oval Gun for Goemon, Mist Sword for Koryuuta, and the Dull
Flute for Ebisumaru) and various pieces of armor (Turtle Armor for Ebisumaru
and Koryuuta, River Wrist for Goemon, and a Bandana for Koryuuta). Be sure to
sell your old gear to free up space and recover some money!
After that, rest up as usual before you make your way out of town.
=========
Overworld
=========
From the village, head southward until you spot some stairs. Go down them to
reach another underground passage, so enter it.
===========
Mole Tunnel
===========
In this cave, follow the path and you will see a giant mole. Talk to it and
say yes, then the mole will give you the Mole Map. With it, exit this cave.
=========
Overworld
=========
From the stairs, continue heading westward. You will see a cave in the
mountains to the north ahead, so enter it. Be sure that your party is up to
Level 11-12 before proceeding onward.
============
Dondoko Cave
============
In the first room, follow the path around to the middle area, then go down
the steps to level B2. You will arrive in the middle of the room. First, go
directly southward and to the east at the end. Open the chest you see to find
an Oval Gun. Return to the stairs and head west this time. Follow the path to
the south, where you can open a chest in the corner to find an Antidote.
Continue around to the northern end of the room, then head east and open one
more chest to find a Force Scroll. In the northeast corner of this floor are
the stairs; go down them to B3.
Down on this level, simply follow the straightforward path through the area.
When you reach some stairs leading upward, go up them to find a room with a
single chest containing a Salmon Rice Ball. Back on B3, continue to the east
and open the next chest to find the Antidote. Turn to the south and continue
along the path until you reach the end. Go down the stairs to reach B4.
Head around the corner here to reach two chests. Open them to receive a
Mallet and a Shipment. There are two more chests ahead with a Secret Mirror
and 500 Ryou inside. The last chest is sealed shut, but you will be prompted
to use an item. Use the Mystery Plate to open the chest, and collect the
Earth Key inside. This is the first of eight special keys found throughout
the game.
With the key in hand, go forward to the large steel door. Use the Earth Key
to open it, and proceed up the stairs to B3. Head north through this next
room to reach some more stairs. Go up them and you will exit the cave.
=========
Overworld
=========
Outside again, there is a hidden bonus nearby that you can take advantage of.
Walk to the northwest corner from the stairs and you will find a hidden hot
spring, where you can rest up for free! When you are ready, go east and you
will find a tower surrounded by desert. Enter the tower.
=============
Barbell Tower
=============
Inside, use the Stealing Wire to open the first door. Then, head east along
the hall. When you reach the first set of stairs, go up them to 2F. In this
room, go left and open the five chests to find: Shipment, 2 Plum Rice Balls,
Salmon Rice Ball, and Roller Skate. Return down to 1F and continue westward
along the main path. In the southwest corner, there will be two paths leading
onward. Take the left path to reach the chest containing a Salmon Rice Ball.
Then, get to the other side and head upstairs to 2F.
Up here, get to the east side of the room and continue upstairs to 3F. There
are two sets of stairs leading upward here. Start by going north and up the
stairs there. Open the chest in that small room to get a Salmon Rice Ball. Go
back down and head west to find another chest with 400 Ryou inside. Go back
around the room to the southern half and open the chest near the other set of
stairs to find a Plum Rice Ball.
Finally, go upstairs to 4F. Open the chest to receive the Yaserun Fruit. Now
that you have the fruit, you can exit the tower and backtrack through the
cave (or use Goemon's Deruderu ability and return to Dondoko quickly). Your
next destination is the Mole Tunnel.
===========
Mole Tunnel
===========
Back in this cave, talk to the giant mole. You will give it the Yaserun Fruit
which will cause it to shrink in size, allowing it to escape. With that done,
follow it through the cave and exit at the other end.
=========
Overworld
=========
When you emerge from the tunnel, simply head west to the next village.
======
Santan
======
In here, get a well-earned rest at the Inn to start. There is an equipment
shop here, but honestly its wares are not really worth it aside from the new
weapon for Ebisumaru. Make sure you visit the shrine in the southeast area
while you are here. Inside, search the altar to find a hidden 100 Ryou! After
you do that, head out of town.
=========
Overworld
=========
From here, continue southward and you will see a bridge leading to the east.
As a side trip for now, continue to the south and all the way west to find a
different village by the water. Enter it.
=============
Irahai Harbor
=============
Here, you will find a port in the northwest corner, but it is blocked at this
point in the game. There is another game room you can visit here; see the
Mini-Games section of this guide for more information. The equipment shop has
great upgrades for your party. Get the Metal Pipe for Goemon and the Storm
Sword for Koryuuta, and new armor pieces for the appropriate party members
(Owaji Breast, Pumpkin Mask, and Great Gauntlet). Rest up if you want (I
recommend fighting around outside of town until your party is at Level 16),
then head out.
=========
Overworld
=========
Thanks to that side trip, your party is in much better shape. Head all the
way to the east and cross the long bridge. At the far end, you will find a
large house. When you are ready, go inside.
======
Youkan
======
You will be inside of a very large house here. The exit is to the south as
you can see, but there are a few side areas you can visit first. Head toward
the southeast area and you will find stairs. Go up to 2F, then onward to 3F
to reach a small room with a chest. Open it to get 100 Ryou, and head back
down to the main level.
This time, get to the northeast section and go up the stairs there. On 2F, go
south to reach a chest containing a very useful Pinwheel item. Continue along
to the west on this floor and you will see some stairs leading upward. Go up
them to 3F and head up the long hallway to another chest holding a Teriyaki
Burger. Next, go back down to 2F and continue along the path to the end, then
go down the stairs to 1F. Follow that path to return to the house entrance.
For your next side trip, head to the far north end of this floor and go to
the western corner. Go up the northwest stairs to 2F, then continue on to 3F
from there. In the small room, open the chest to get a Force Scroll. With all
of the side rooms covered, head back to the entrance. Now, make your way to
the southwest area of the first floor, and go up the stairs there to 2F.
Up here, head directly northward and go up the stairs at the end to reach 3F.
Go forward and use the Stealing Wire to open the door ahead. Then, enter the
room and talk to the man standing in the back area. He is Simon (from fellow
Konami series Castlevania) and after a bit of conversation, he will join your
party! He is a temporary member, but his Holy Water ability will be useful.
Anyway, go up the stairs Simon was standing on before and head into 4F. On
that floor, use the Stealing Wire ahead to open the door, then continue up to
5F. There are two paths you can take up here. Go north first, and open the
chest along the way to receive a Secret Mirror. Then, head back and take the
westbound path. Collect the Salmon Rice Ball from the chest ahead. In the
northwest corner, go up the stairs to 6F.
On the top floor, take a moment to heal your party before proceeding any
further. I recommend that your party is at Level 20 at this point. Once you
are ready, go forward to find a large monster. Talk to it and you will face
the Wolf boss. Read the Bosses section if you need help. After the fight,
your job here is done, so make your way out of here (or use Goemon's Deruderu
as a shortcut).
=========
Overworld
=========
Once you are outside, head back across the bridge. Then, go southwest and all
the way westward to the harbor village again.
=============
Irahai Harbor
=============
As soon as you arrive, rest up at the Inn since you need it. Then, go north
and walk along the long dock to reach a ship. Board it.
===================
Early European Ship
===================
Upon the ship, start by going west to the western end of the ship. Go up the
stairs to reach level 2F. Open the chest in the northeast area to find a
Pinwheel, then go back down to 1F. Return to the entrance and go east this
time. Follow the path around until it splits, then go southwest to a chest
containing a River Wrist. Keep going along this path to the end, where you
can go upstairs to 2F. There, go left and follow the straightforward path
across this level. Open the first chest you see along the way to get a Mufufu
Nashashin (ムフフなしゃしん) item.
Up ahead, take the northern path at the split to reach another chest. Open it
to get the Cross (じゅうじか) key item. From here, go southeast and follow the
long path going westward. At the end, go south and east to a chest holding
600 Ryou. Next, go west and north to some stairs. Go down three levels to B2,
then make your way onward to the next set of stairs. Go up them to level B1.
Here on the west end of the ship, you can either go north or south across it.
Take the northern path eastward and go south at the first split to reach some
stairs. Go up those stairs to 1F and open the chest ahead to get a Hot Dog.
Further ahead, you will see some stairs leading downward. Go down them into a
small room with another chest containing a Teriyaki Burger.
Leave this room, then go back west and down the stairs at the end. Back on
level B1, go north and continue heading eastward along the hallway. Ignore
the next two paths leading southward as they are dead ends. At the next path
split, go southeast to a chest containing an Iron Gauntlet. Next, take the
nearby path to the south and east. When you reach the next chest, open it to
receive the Holy Whip weapon for Simon.
After that, go north and down the stairs in the corner to reach level B2. Go
along the path to the end, and you will find a man standing there. Before you
go on, make sure to heal your party and that nobody has the Drunk status
ailment (use Goemon's Crisp to cure it). When you are ready, talk to the man
and you will be prompted to use an item. Use the Cross and you will be sent
into a boss battle against Dracula. Read the Bosses section for help winning.
Once you win, Simon will leave your party in favor of standing guard at this
location. You will also receive the Dark Key. Now that you are done here,
make your way back to the exit of the boat. There are no longer enemies on
board, which will make this trek even easier.
=============
Irahai Harbor
=============
Once you leave the ship, walk away and the ship will sail off. Rest up at the
Inn while you are here, then go to the west side of town to find that the
port is now open. Pay 10 Ryou inside and you will sail off to a new area.
=====
Posan
=====
You will arrive at the village of Posan. First, head towards the house in the
southeast section. There are palm trees directly to the left of that house.
Search the front of the right palm tree to find 100 Ryou. Then, head to the
equipment shop and upgrade some of your party's gear (new weapons for both
Ebisumaru and Koryuuta, armor for everyone (Daimyo Armor is better, but only
two people can wear it), and a Wok for Ebisumaru.
There is also a game room in town where you can navigate a maze in a first-
person perspective. That is covered in greater detail in the Mini-Games
section of this guide. Once you are done equipping your new gear and selling
off the old stuff, rest up and then exit the village.
=========
Overworld
=========
From Posan, head southward and cross the bridge you see. Continue to the
south and west along the path, and you will come to a small hut next to a
broken bridge. Enter that hut.
==========
Jungle Hut
==========
Here, go forward and talk to the man inside. You will have to face Jungle Jim
in a boss battle here, so check out that section if you need help. Following
the battle, he will talk some more before giving you the Crocodile Bait item.
Leave the hut.
=========
Overworld
=========
Now that you have the bait, walk to the end of the broken bridge nearby. Use
the Crocodile Bait and some crocodiles will emerge for you to walk across.
Once you make it across, head north and you will see a cave-like entrance to
the forest. So, enter that new area.
==============
Devil's Forest
==============
In this maze-like area, begin by going north to the first path split. Go west
and around the corner. At the next intersection, go west again. Shortly after
that turn, you can go either north or west. Go north, then east at the next
split to reach a chest containing a Secret Mirror. From here, go south, all
the way west, north, and west to another split where you can either go north
or south.
At this point, go south first, then west at the next intersection. Open the
chest in the northern alcove you see to find Rock Armor. Then, go back to the
previous intersection and head northward this time. Follow it north and west
and you will find a bridge. Cross it to the other side, then go north and
east along the straightforward path ahead. At the split further along, both
paths lead eastward, so take either one.
At the next three-way split, go east first. Follow the eastern path around to
a chest containing a Salmon Rice Ball. Then, go back and take the southern
path. Follow it all the way to the end, where you will find two chests. The
right one has a Plum Rice Ball, but the other one is sealed. Use the Mystery
Plate on it, then collect the War Cry Key that was inside. Now that you have
the key, backtrack your way out of the forest and return to Posan.

Once you make it back to the village, rest up as usual. Then, go into the
house in the southeast area of town. Use the War Cry Key on the steel door to
open it, then go forward and search the eastern end of the north wall to find
a hidden 100 Ryou bonus! Then, go downstairs into an underground passage. Go
through the passage to the end, where you will emerge in another house. Exit
to find a port nearby. Pay 10 Ryou inside and ride the ship westward to a new
area. From that port town, go south and west to a new village.

=======
Here, be sure to visit the equipment shop and upgrade your gear yet again.
Ebisumaru can get the Indian Flute and Safety Helmet, Koryuuta can get the
Speed Sword, Walnut Armor, and Choice Gauntlet, while Goemon can get the
Safety Helmet and Choice Gauntlet.
Once you are done with shifting around your gear, rest up and leave town.

From the village, continue going south and east alongside the mountains. To
the north ahead, there will be men blocking that path. Talk to them and they
will not let you proceed. So, continue on to the east and you will find a
small building. Go inside and talk to the man, saying yes when prompted. He
will take Ebisumaru downstairs and you will witness a long conversation of
sorts. When they return, Ebisumaru will have learned a new technique, the
Head Worker's Song (のうてんおんど). With it, leave the house and return to
Pokapon.
=======
Pokapon
=======
Back in town, first visit the mayor, located in the southeast house. There
are three houses in a row; he is in the rightmost one. Talk to the mayor,
then exit the building. Now, use Ebisumaru's new Head Worker's Song technique
and talk to the three people in the northeast area of town (each one will
give you the same message if done properly, otherwise they will attack you).
After you talk to all three people, go back to the mayor. He will tell you
something different before giving you the Letter of Introduction key item.
With it, exit the town.

Outside once more, go south and east along the path. Pass the house from
earlier and continue onward to find some stairs. Go down them to enter an
underground passage. Make your way through it, taking the north path at the
split to reach a chest containing a Roller Skate. At the end, talk to the man
and use the Letter of Introduction to be granted access to the artisan. Then,
go up the stairs to exit the passage.
From where you emerge, go into the nearby artisan's house.

Talk to the man inside and he will give you the Promissory Note. With it, go
back out and through the passage.

Once you go back through the passage, head westward to where the men are
standing guard between the mountains. Talk to the guard on the left and they
will take your Promissory Note, and allow you to pass. So, continue to the
east from here. At the far end, go down the steps and enter another passage.
===================
Underground Passage
===================
Down here, follow the straightforward path to the end while fighting the
simple enemies along the way. At the end, you will find a girl. Talk to her,
then you will be able to give her a name. She will then join your party as
your newest temporary member! Now, go up the stairs ahead of you to exit the
passage, then continue straight ahead into the next village.

As with any town you visit, stop by the equipment shop and upgrade your gear
once more. Goemon and Koryuuta get more powerful weapons here. Get the Court
Dress and Soba Gauntlet for Ebisumaru, the Lord Armor for Goemon only (if
Koryuuta has Walnut Armor, it will be better for her right now), and the
Flower Necklace and Court Dress for the Girl.
Before you go, be sure to rest in the town's Inn. Then, leave the area.

From the village, go all the way east and north to a large tree with a hole

and you will drink some tea and talk some more. After it is done, exit and
Koryuuta will point out some strange sounds nearby. Anyway, go back to Otogi.

=====
Here again, go into the house next door to the Inn. Walk to the back area and
you will spot a UFO floating in the air. Approach it and a man will knock it
out of the village. So, rest up before you leave town. The UFO is to the
northeast of the village, so when you are ready, go inside.
===
UFO
===
Inside here, simply go forward and head upstairs to 2F. Go forward until you
reach a split in the path. First, take the west path and go around the bend
to reach the chest containing a Plum Rice Ball. If you continue west and
south, you will find stairs. Go down them to enter a small room with a chest.
Open it to find a Seal Case, then exit the room.
From here, go east a little bit, then head north to find some stairs in the
corner. Go down them to reach a room with two chests. Open them to get a Hot
Dog and a Teriyaki Burger. Go back upstairs, then continue east and north to
another set of stairs nearby. Follow them to a room with a single chest
holding a Salmon Rice Ball. Return to the main room, and go to the southeast
area. Follow the path south and west to stairs leading up to 3F.
On this floor, go down the stairs you see nearby to return to the eastern
side of 2F. Open the nearby chest to get a Safety Helmet, then head north.
Continue until you can go west, then turn and go around the corner to reach a
chest. It is a trap, so if you want to fight enemies, open it. Anyway, go to
the east and continue north to some stairs. Go down them to enter a room with
a chest; open it to get Miezuno Powder. Then, leave this room. Head all the
way south again and go back up the stairs by the Safety Helmet chest.
Back on 3F, head north and all the way west along the hallway. At the west
end, you will see a small and seemingly empty alcove to the southeast. Walk
along the north end of that alcove to enter a hidden room, where there are
chests containing two Hot Dogs and a Salmon Rice Ball. Exit, then continue
all the way around the room to the south end, and you will see stairs leading
upward. Ignore them for the moment and continue on to find a locked door. Use
the Stealing Wire to open it, then talk to the cow inside. Next, go up the
stairs you just passed to reach 4F.
Go around the corner here and unlock two more rooms with cows in them. In the
right cell, there will be stairs, so take them up to 5F. Follow the path to
the end, and talk to the alien to engage it in battle. Read the Bosses
section if you need help defeating the Trick Adult.
Immediately following the battle, there will be explosions all throughout the
area. So, backtrack your way back to the entrance of the ship. There are no
enemies remaining, so this will be much easier for you to do. Once you reach
the exit, the UFO will explode. With that done, head back to town.

=====
Back in town again, rest up at the Inn, then visit the mayor's house in the
southeast area. Talk to the red devil inside and he will give you the Strike
Axe key item. This will allow you to cut down the tree to the east. When you
are ready, head out of here.
=========
Overworld
=========
Go east from the village and you will see the tree where the Red Devil was
earlier. Approach it and use the Strike Axe to chop it down, giving you
access to the path ahead. Follow the path as it winds along to the east. At
the end, you will be blocked by a group of thugs. Talk to them and you will
have to fight them in battle. Read the Bosses section if you need help.
Once you clear the way, the woman will run ahead. Follow her eastward through
a forest and you will find the port town by the water. Enter it.
=============
Deep Sea Port
=============
Here, you will find another large department store near the entrance, which
has everything you will need. Go to the equipment shop (second floor) and buy
new gear for everyone (weapons for Goemon and Ebisumaru, High-Grade Watches
for everyone, Sea Otter Clothes for all except Goemon, and Vigor Plates for
all except the Girl). Be sure to rest at the Inn on 4F, too.
In the building next to the department store, you will find a shop where you
can exchange the Bell Coupons for special prizes. There is also a game room
in town (see the Mini-Games section). To proceed, go to the eastern area and
enter the house on the island. Talk to the man inside and they will go down
into the basement. Follow them down there and you will find a dock with a
submarine. Board it and you will emerge underwater.
==========
Underwater
==========
Below the surface, you will have control of the submarine. There will be no
enemies bothering you, and you can not access the party's data while aboard.
Follow the path around until you reach the first split. Take the eastbound
path and continue along it all the way to the end. You will reach a temple at
the end of the long and winding path, so enter it.
===============
Undersea Temple
===============
When you dock, simply go forward to the next room. Talk to the mermaids in
the main lobby area, then go up the stairs in the back to enter the temple
itself. On the first level, you will be in the southeast corner of a looping
area. Walk around to the opposite side of the loop and walk into the corner
to find a hidden room. Open the chests to get 500 Ryou, a Hot Dog, and a
Force Scroll. Exit that room, then head west to reach some stairs. Go up them
to 2F. Head to the north a short while until you see some more steps, then
take those to 3F. Open the four chests in this room to find a Vigor Plate,
Secret Mirror, Roller Skate, and a Force Scroll.
Go back downstairs to 2F, then go south and back down the stairs to 1F. Next,
head north until you reach the first path split. Take the path to the east
side, and go south and around to some stairs. Go up them to 2F. Round the
corner and you will find stairs up ahead; take them to 3F. Open the chest in
the small room to get a Plum Rice Ball, then exit the room.
From here, go northward until the second path leading to the west. Take that
path west, then north at the middle intersection. At the end, go up to 3F. On
this floor again, head all the way southward to the end. You will find two
stairways here. Take the left set to 4F. Head west and open the chest to get
a High-Grade Watch. After that, go all the way east to the end, then go north
and around to some stairs. Go up the stairs to 5F.
Follow the path around and to the end, where you will see a monster waiting
for you. Heal up, then talk to it to engage the Turtle Boss in battle. Read
that section of the guide if you need assistance. Once you win, you will
receive the White Whale Key automatically. Go forward and head up the stairs
to reach the final room. Open the chest to get the Heaven Jar. Now that your
task here is complete, make your way back out of the temple. You can use
Goemon's Deruderu technique to escape quickly.
=========
Overworld
=========
Before you proceed onward, be sure to rest at the Inn at the Deep Sea Port.
Then, head eastward from the port town. You will see some stairs leading down
into a passage. Ignore them for now and continue onward until you reach a
mountain. Walk into the cave at the front to enter it.
==================
Centipede Mountain
==================
When you enter, go forward to the red line blocking the way. Use the Heaven
Jar to clear it, then continue onward. There will be two sets of stairs here,
one going up and the other going down. Head downstairs to level B1 first. Go
south to the end, and open the chests to find an Antidote and a Refresh.
Return to 1F, and continue upstairs to 2F.
On this level, follow the long yet straightforward path all the way around
the room. Along the way you will find a poisonous section which causes your
party to lose HP as you walk through (2 HP per step), plus it can inflict the
Poison status effect. Get across it and keep going to reach a chest in the
corner. Open it to get Wooden Clogs, which can protect you from such hazards.
Get across one more small stretch of poisonous ground, then go upstairs at
the end to reach level 3F.
There, follow the path around to the next poisonous section of floor. You can
go north or west across it. If you go west to what seems to be a dead end,
walk along the western column to enter a hidden room. Open the chests in
there to find a Mallet, Teriyaki Burger, Hot Dog, and 1000 Ryou. Exit the
room and continue to the north. Cross the next hazard and open the chest in
the left alcove to get another 400 Ryou.
At the path split ahead, go east on a side path to a chest containing another
50 Ryou. Go north some more and head east along the next path to find stairs
going down. Go down them to 2F and open the two chests to find Plum and
Salmon Rice Balls. Head back to 3F and go north some more. If you cross the
poisonous floor to the northwest, there is one more chest with a Soba
Gauntlet inside. Otherwise, go to the northeast and head upstairs to 4F.
Up here, go south and you will find a path split. Take either path as they
both lead to the same place. Cross the poisonous section and you will reach
another split. Go east to a chest containing 140 Ryou, then head all the way
west to some stairs. Take them upstairs to 5F. Make your way to the end, then
heal up before you talk to the giant centipede ahead. When you are ready,
talk to it and you will enter into a boss battle. Read that section of this
guide for help.
Once you win, go ahead to reach the final chest. Open it to get a Tsubamesou.
With it, you can now leave the mountain.

Back outside, you will want to head back to Koryuuta's house. The best way to
do this is by using Ebisumaru's Tobuun ability to reach the Shaking Village

the other side, go all the way east past the mountain to the house by the
water.

When you emerge at the other end, go east and cross the southern bridge. At
the other side, enter the village you see.

gear and buy some items if you need them, then leave the village.

From the village, go west a short bit to spot a castle. Enter it.
=============
Flower Castle
=============
In here, first go all the way west to a chest containing a Mallet. If you go
east, there is a trap chest with enemies inside. In the middle, go ahead and
talk to the men in the way. You need to give them an item, so unequip the
Girl's Lily Hairpin and use it as an item. The men will turn into monsters
which you must defeat. After that, reequip the hairpin and continue onward.
You can go to the west or east, and follow a path leading to the far north
end of this room. The northwest chest is a trap with monsters, and the
northeast chest has a Secret Mirror. Going back to the center area again, you
can also go through two doors on either side. The left room has a Shipment in
the chest, and the right room has a Plum Rice Ball and another Mallet. If you
go back to the center once more, there are two sets of stairs leading upward.
The left stairs lead to a small room with 100 Ryou in a chest.
To proceed onward, take the right stairs up to level 2F, then continue onward
to 3F. Up there, go south and exit the small room. There are four doors in
this middle segment, and you came from the second on the right. The contents
of each room is as follows, from left to right:
1: Plum Rice Ball, 150 Ryou
2: 80 Ryou, High-Grade Watch, Sake Rice Ball, trap chest, empty chest
3: Leads down to 2F
4: Connects to #2
After you explore the middle rooms, you can also go directly south to another
section. Go east there to find a chest containing a Pinwheel. Next, head all
the way to the northern end of the room. You will find stairs there, so take
them up to 4F. Follow the path around the corner here and you will see stairs
and a door next to them. Enter the room first to find a chest containing a
trap; open it if you wish to fight. Otherwise, go upstairs to 5F.
On 5F, there is nothing to see, so simply go around and head up the stairs to
6F. Repeat the same process here to get to 7F. Once you get there, go left to
spot a door. Before you enter it, continue around to reach a chest; open it
to get a Refresh. Then, enter the room. Go right and head upstairs at the end
to reach the top floor, 8F. Walk through the door and take a moment to heal
up and recover lost TP (Hot Dogs are your friend here). When you are ready,
talk to the princess and you will engage her robotic form in battle, so check
out the Bosses section if you need help.
Once the battle is over, go up the stairs ahead to reach 9F. Before you go up
the next set of stairs ahead of you, walk around to the back. Unlock the door
with the Stealing Wire and enter the prison, and talk to the man inside. It
is revealed that the girl who has been accompanying you is really the Lily
Princess. They both leave the room, so go upstairs to 10F.
In the final room, talk to the now revealed Lily Princess. She will give you
the Permit, which allows you to use the ferry in the Deep Sea Port. So, exit
the tower and return to that port.
=============
Deep Sea Port
=============
Back here, rest up at the Inn, then head to the port at the southeast area.
Go into the building and talk to the man, and show him the Permit. You will
then board a ship bound for Antarctica in the far south. After the journey,
you arrive at the Hierun Port.
===========
Hierun Port
===========
When you arrive, you can show the Permit again to the man in the port office
to ride the ship back northward. For the mean time, explore the port town and
visit the equipment shop to upgrade yet again. Buy new weapons for everyone,
the Tiger Skin armor for Goemon and Koryuuta (you can get Mink Skin for
Koryuuta, but the added speed always helps), as well as Tiger Omens for them.
After you are done shopping, talk to the man just north of the port room to
hear the port's name, then head out of town.

In the forest is a frozen house, so enter it.
===========
Frost House
===========
Inside this place, you will find the first floor to be set up like a maze of
sorts. First, go to the east side and you will find some stairs in an odd
corner. Go up them to 2F. Follow the path there to the end and open the three
chests to get a Plum Rice Ball, Salmon Rice Ball, and a Super Rice Ball. Go
back down to 1F and continue to the north end of the maze chamber. There are
two alcoves with stairs in them. Go into the western alcove first. That room
has a chest containing a Mufufu Nashashin item. After that, go up the eastern
stairs to reach 2F again.
Here, go east and north around the room to the next set of stairs. Then,
continue upward to 3F. From the northwest corner of the room, head to the
southeast to reach a path split. Go south at the split, then turn to the east
along a narrow path. There will be stairs in the middle; take them up to a
small room with a Roller Skate in a chest. After that, continue to the south
and east, and go up those stairs in the wide open area to 4F.
In this room, go left first and open the chest to get the Ultra Cast armor.
From here, go all the way east and south to the end. Go down the stairs you
see to reach 3F again. In the small room you arrive at, simply go up the
stairs ahead of you to reach another section of 4F. Follow the path northward
until it splits. Go east and north at the first intersection to find a chest
containing a Salmon Rice Ball. Then, go east and up the stairs to 5F.
There, go west and all the way south through the room. At the split ahead, go
north to a chest containing a Seal Case. Continue along the path and go up
the stairs at the end to 6F. Go forward and heal up, then talk to the Snow
Queen sitting there. Read the Bosses section for help defeating her.
Once you win, open the chest she leaves behind to receive the Snow Glasses.
Goemon will automatically use them, so they will not appear in you item list.
Take them and make your way back outside.

==========
Ice Palace
==========
Here, begin by going up the steps to the castle entrance itself. There are
three entrances; go into the left one to start. Inside, go north to the back
of the room and walk along the north wall to find a hidden room. Open the two
chests inside to find 1000 Ryou and Miezuno Powder. Then, head back outside
and enter the middle door.
In the first room, go north and up the long set of stairs to a path split.
First, go left and up the stairs at the end to 2F. In that room, open the
three chests to find 200 Ryou, a Salmon Rice Ball, and Sea Otter Clothes.
Backtrack to the split and take the eastern path this time, and go downstairs
to B1.
Down here, you will be in the middle of a room with four paths. Take the
northeast path to a chest containing a Pinwheel. Next, go to the northwest
and enter a hidden room at the end. There are three chests you can open,
containing 1000 Ryou, a Party Dress, and a Force Scroll. After that, take the
southwest path from the main room and go up to 1F again. From there, go east
and up another set of stairs to 2F.
Head along the path here until you reach a split. Go east to a chest with a
Force Scroll inside. Then, continue to the south and head up the stairs at
the end to reach 3F. Go forward and you will see a path split with two sets
of long stairs leading upward. Take the eastern stairs first and go down the
stairs in the back to reach 2F. Open the four chests in that room to get 500
Ryou, an Antidote, a Plum Rice Ball, and a Hot Dog.
Back in the previous room, go west and up the long stairs there. Continue
along the path to the end, and head upstairs to 4F. Follow the path to the
end, and talk to the man you meet. You will then be given a prompt, so use
Ebisumaru's Head Worker's Song technique. The room will change color and the
man will continue talking before running away. After that happens, approach
the north wall and use the Stealing Wire to open up the path behind it. Go in
the back and open the chest to get the Burn Samba.
With this key item, exit the palace.

Your next destination is to the east, by the Hierun Port. Rest at the Inn in
town, then go north to the giant snowman. Use the Burn Samba to melt it,
clearing the way onward. You will see some stairs there; when you are ready,
go down them to enter a cave.
==============
Antarctic Cave
==============
Starting off here, go south to find a sign. You will see two sections of
moving water. The key to proceeding further in this cave is to use the water
currents wisely. So, start by going east along the current. At the stop, go
south to a three-way split. Go west, then south to another intersection. Take
the western current and follow the path northward to a chest containing an
Ultra Cast.
Get back to that split, then go down, right, right, and up. Open the two
chests to find 300 Ryou and a Roller Skate. From there, go northeast along
the current, then go up, right, down, and right to the east end. Go down the
stairs there to reach B2. In this maze-like room, follow these directions to
proceed. Go down, down, down, right, up, right, down. Open the corner chest
to find some Miezuno Powder. Then, go left, up, up, and left to the other
chest. Open it to find a Pinwheel. After that, go left and back upstairs.
Back on B1, head south and take the current to the west. From there, go up,
left, up, left, up, and left to reach a longer section of dry land. Go south
to the intersection again, and go west and south to another island space.
Then, go south three times and east at the end to reach the southern area
with some stairs. Ignore them for now as you continue eastward to some more
stairs in the corner. Take those down to another section of B2.
Down here, simply go all the way west and then north into the current. Go
east at the split and open the chest to find a Salmon Rice Ball. Take the
current ahead to the start, and head west to the current again. Go north with
it, then go north at the split this time. Follow the next current as it leads
you to the west. Head directly southward to an intersection of sorts. For
now, take the current directly to the south. Head east to find some stairs.
Ignore them and continue all the way east and north to find two chests. Open
them to get a Salmon Rice Ball and a Mink Skin.
Next, continue onward and take the current to the west. Before you go south,
continue ahead to the northwest corner of the floor. Walk into the southeast
corner of that area to enter another hidden room. Open the chests to get 2000
Ryou, a Hot Dog, and a Super Rice Ball. Exit and head back east, then
continue south on the next water current. At the intersection from before,
this time go west. Follow the path around the corner and go south until you
find some stairs. Ignore them for the moment if you want an extra Antidote in
the chest to the south (you'll have to go all the way around the room again
to return to this spot if you get the chest). Otherwise, go down the stairs
to B3.
Down here, there are three paths you can take. The west one is a dead end,
and the east one leads to a chest containing a Salmon Rice Ball. Head north
from the stairs and there will be a fork in the road. Take the east path to
reach a chest containing a Mallet. Now, take the west path to find stairs
leading to B4. On the bottom level, head north and cross the long bridge you
see. At the far end, you will spot the key on an altar. As you approach, the
bridge will collapse, sending the key into the abyss, along with your party!
=============
Piroron World
=============
You will land in what appears to be a strange new world. Go east and enter
the nearby village.
=========
Food City
=========
In this strange new village, rest up at the Inn as usual. Then, go visit the
equipment shop. Buy new weapons for everyone (Red Yo-Yo for Ebisumaru, and
either weapon for Goemon and Koryuuta, depending on your preferences in terms
of statistics, as the more expensive weapons increase attack, defense and
speed, but the cheaper ones boost speed more). Also, buy new armor if you
wish; again, use your best judgment as the armor pieces here are heavy and
will decrease your speed by a lot. If you don't care about the speed drop (or
wish to cancel it out with your new weapons), buy new armor now.
After you are done shopping, head north and enter the large palace. Take the
left path upstairs to the King's room. Talk to the King and answer yes when
prompted, and he will give you the Salt Key. With it, exit the palace and
leave the town.

Outside, head southward and cross the bridge you see. To the east past the

In here, go forward to find a locked door. Use the Salt Key to open it. Going
beyond the door, there is a path split. Go all the way west to find a chest
containing a Hot Dog. Then, head to the far east and go upstairs to 2F. On
this level, simply go around the room and continue up to 3F. There, open the
chest in the corner to find a Teriyaki Burger, then go upstairs to 4F. This
room is more of the same, but you will want to take the northwest stairs down
to another part of 3F.
In this room, simply follow the long and winding path all the way to the end.
Once you get there, head down the stairs to 2F again. Open the chest ahead to
find a Teriyaki Burger, then continue along the path through here. Along the
way, you will find a small alcove with stairs leading downward. Take them
down to a small room with a chest containing a Seal Case. Then, go back up
and continue to the western end of the floor. Go down the stairs there to 1F.
Back on the first level, simply go up the northern stairs to 2F again. Head
northwest from the stairs and go around the corner to find a chest containing
a Camel Patch. Return to the stairs and head south into the main area of the
room. Go east first to another chest; open it to get a Barnacle Gauntlet.
From there, go all the way west and north to some stairs; go down them to 1F
once again.
Here, go along the path until you reach an area where you can go north or
east. Continue to the east for now, and open the chest at the northeast area
to get a Barnacle Disk (better weapon for Ebisumaru). After that, go back to
the center area and heal up before going north. Go down the steps and you
will encounter two monsters waiting for you. You will then engage them in
battle; read the Bosses section for help defeating them.
Once you win, there is nothing else for you to do here. So, exit the castle
and return to Food City.
=========
Food City
=========
Back here, rest at the Inn and enter the palace. Talk to the King upstairs
again and he will give you permission to enter the palace basement. So, go
downstairs and talk to the men blocking the eastern passage. They will move
away, so continue downstairs. As you enter the room, a giant butterfly will
appear and flies away with your party. You will be taken to an area far to
the north. Once you land, enter the nearby castle.
============
Paya Kingdom
============
In this new town, rest up if needed and talk to the people outside. If you
go to the shrine building (the one with the skull, where you go to remove
status ailments and revive fallen allies) and search in the northwest corner,
you will find a hidden 100 Ryou there! Make your way to the palace in the
back area, and talk to the princess in the western room. Once you do that,
your job here in town is done, so make your way out.
=============
Piroron World
=============
Outside, head to the northwest from the town. Follow the path in a clockwise
fashion until you reach the bridge. Cross that bridge and continue around to
a castle; enter it.
==============
Monster Castle
==============
From the start, go forward to the door and use the Stealing Wire to open it.
At the intersection ahead, go west to the far end of the room. Walk into the
northwest corner and you will stumble into a hidden room. Open the chests to
find a Hot Dog, two Pinwheels, and Miezuno Powder. Return to the first room
and take the northern path to find some stairs. Go down them to B1. When you
arrive, simply go south and continue downstairs to B2.
Follow the path around to a prison cell. Use the Stealing Wire to open the
door, then enter the cell and talk to the princess. After she runs away, go
up the stairs to B1 again. Use the Stealing Wire to proceed in this room, and
head north to the middle area, where you can go either west or east. Go west
first and head to the southwest section. Go up the stairs to reach a room
with one chest. Open it to get an Oval Laser.
Back in the previous room, go up the northwest stairs this time. In the small
room, continue upward to 2F. Follow the path in the next room until you see
some stairs. Go up them to a side room, where there are three chests. Open
them to receive 500 Ryou, a Refresher, and Plate Armor. Exit the room and
continue along the path to the very end. Open the chest there to get the
Dragon Pipe; equip Goemon with it right away!
Next, go back downstairs two levels to B1. This time, go ahead and explore
the east side of the room. There are two sets of stairs here as well. Take
the southeastern stairs to a single room where you can find a chest with a
Teriyaki Burger inside. Leave the room, and head up the northeast stairs now
to 1F. There, simply go forward and up the next set of stairs to 2F. Follow
the path around in the next room to reach the stairs at the end. Take those
up to 3F.
In the next room, simply follow the straightforward path all the way south
and west to the stairs. Go up them to 4F. On this floor, there are two paths
you can take, but they both lead to the northeast corner. The northern path
has a chest with the White Pachinko inside, while the east path has a Green
Harisen inside another chest. Either way, when you get to the northeast
corner, go up the stairs to 5F. Continue through this next room to reach 6F.
Here, open the chest in the corner to get a Armadillo Hat. There are two sets
of stairs on the west side leading downward. First, take the northwest steps
down into a room with a single chest; open it to get a Teriyaki Burger. Go
back up and head down the southwest steps now, returning to 5F. In that next
room, continue going down to 4F, then go up the southeast steps to reach 5F
yet again.
You wil find two sets of stairs leading upward here. Go up the northwest
stairs first and open the chest there to get an Oval Laser. Then, go up the
northeast steps to 6F. Go forward and take the stairs ahead to 7F. Unlock the
nearby door by using the Stealing Wire, then go north to the end. Heal up
before talking to the monster ahead. When you talk to it, you will enter into
a boss battle against the Naspiroshiki. Read the Bosses section for help
defeating this boss.
After you defeat it, you will also receive the Cold Key. With it, you can
make your way out of this castle and back to town.
============
Paya Kingdom
============
Here again, rest up as usual and visit the palace. Go forward and talk to the
princess who you rescued earlier (the red one). After that, head into the
southeast room that the guards are no longer blocking. In there, talk to the
man standing next to the ramp and you will be launched back up to the regular
world. However, you overshoot it severely and end up in the clouds!
===========
Cloud World
===========
You will arrive high in the clouds, on level 5F per se. Follow the long and
counterclockwise path around to the end, fighting the enemies along the way
for good experience. At the end, you can head directly west of the stairs to
find a hidden room (there is a chest with a Super Rice Ball if you go there).
Otherwise, go down the stairs to 4F. Here, make your way to the southwest
area of the floor, and take the stairs down to 3F.
When you arrive on 3F, head all the way to the east. At the dead end, walk on
the second to last column to find a hidden room. The chest there has a
Pinwheel inside. Then, go back to the stairs and follow the main path all the
way around and to the south. Go down the stairs at the end to reach 2F. On
this level, follow the path to the end, where you will find a cave. Before
you go in, walk around the northwest corner to find a hidden room. Open the
chests there to get a Pinwheel and an Ultra Cast. Then, go back outside and
enter that cave.
Inside, go south to an intersection. If you go west, there will be a chest
containing a Salmon Rice Ball at the end. Going east, you can reach some
stairs leading to the exit.
=========
Overworld
=========
Back outside in the regular world, enter the nearby Teahouse and talk to the
man inside. He will leave after speaking with you. Talk to the woman on the
left side to rest up quickly. Then, leave the house and head far to the east.
The landscape will become more green and you will see a bridge ahead. Cross
it, then take the second bridge to the north. Enter the village ahead.
=======
Donburi
=======
Here, talk to the kid at the entrance, then rest up at the Inn. If you want,
you can go to the item depository (building with green doors) and store some
of your old/unused key items. You should also really visit the item shop and
buy some Wooden Clogs for the area ahead.
After that, go into the northern building and talk to the people inside.
Then, go upstairs and you will find a flying vehicle. Approach it and you
will get to ride it.
=========
Overworld
=========
Now that you have a flying vehicle, you can get to locations previously
inaccessible. You can land on any solid ground, then reboard the vehicle by
walking into it. For now, go back to the west by the mountain you emerged
from. To the south of it is lava; fly across it to find an island with stairs
in the middle. Enter that cave.
=========
Lava Cave
=========
In this first room, you will be in the middle area with most of the floor
covered with lava. You will want to have a lot of Wooden Clogs with you so
you can navigate this cave safely. There are stairs in three of the corners,
as well as on the center platform. Get to the southeast corner of the room
and open the chest there to get the Hyper Pipe for Goemon. Then, head to the
northeast corner and head downstairs to B2.
To the south in here, you will find two paths. Take the southwest path and
open the chest to get Wooden Clogs. Continue to the northwest, where you will
find stairs going down to B3. Follow the path to the south and east, and
there will be holes in the wall ahead. Check them out if you want, otherwise
keep going to a path split. Head north first and open the chest to get a Plum
Rice Ball. Then, go south and around to the stairs leading down to B4.
Down here, cross the bridge and go up the northern stairs to B3 again. Take
the other stairs downward to B4, then cross another bridge and continue down
to B5. In this room, cross the lava to the northeast and you will find a
bunch of different paths. Go to the southeast first to reach a chest with a
Salmon Rice Ball inside. From the center area, the chest around the corner to
the west has a Refresher inside. Follow the safe path to the east and south
to another chest, this one holding a Ninja Sword (weapon for a fourth party
member you don't have yet). From there, go southeast and take the stairs down
to B6.
You will be in a platform maze of sorts, with lava on each platform and a
safe zone in the middle of each. From the stairs, go west, north, west,
south, west, and south. Go down the stairs you see to reach level B7. There,
head to the back of the room and you will find four chests. Open them all to
get a Teriyaki Burger and 380 Ryou. The third chest is empty, and the right
one is sealed. Use the Mystery Plate to open it, allowing you to receive the
Hot Key. The room will also shake when you take the key.
With the key in hand, exit the cave and fly back to Donburi.
=======
Donburi
=======
Once you get back to town, rest up and visit Dr. Cinnamon in the northern
house again. Talk to him and say yes when prompted, then head out of town.
=========
Overworld
=========
From the village, board your flying vehicle and head to the southeast,
following the regular path below. There will be a cave on an island of sorts;
land there and enter it.
===========
Hell Valley
===========
In this new area, you will be going in and out of caves while climbing the
mountains. Go up the first set of stairs to start. There are two more stairs
and a cave on this level. The cave leads to a room with a chest containing a
Roller Skate. Next, use the right stairs and go up to the next level. Go east
there and you will be at an intersection. Go south to a chest containing the
Mallet, then head northward and up the stairs.
At the next stop, go left to a chest with 600 Ryou inside. Then, continue up
the stairs to the top, and enter the cave. Inside, go all the way down the
stairs, then go all the way east at the bottom. Head up the stairs at the far
end to reach another cave. Go into that room and climb down the stairs to
reach two chests. Open them to receive a Plum Rice Ball and the Heaven Flute
weapon for Ebisumaru.
Now, backtrack all the way to the entrance again (use Goemon's Deruderu as a
shortcut). This time around, take the left stairs up to the next level. Go
west and north on the next set of stairs. Then, simply continue all the way
to the top where you will find a cave. Enter it. Inside the cave, simply
follow the path all the way down and up the other side to the end. Go through
the opening at the end to go back outside.
Out here, there will be two sets of stairs leading upward. Take the right
path first and enter the cave at the top. Open the chest in that room to get
a Mechanical Suit (very good armor for Goemon or Koryuuta, so equip it). Exit
the room and take the western stairs this time. Enter the cave at the top and
heal up before climbing the long stairs ahead. At the top, you will meet a
few people before entering into a boss battle. Read that section if you need
help defeating the Hyakumensou.
Once you win, Haduki will join your party as the fourth (temporary) person!
Now that your job here is done, leave the area and return to Donburi again.
=======
Donburi
=======
Here once again, head over to Dr. Cinnamon's place in the back. Talk to him
and you will receive the Bee Whistle. Your next destination is back to Great
Edo Town, so exit Donburi and use Ebisumaru's Tobuun ability to get there.
==============
Great Edo Town
==============
Back here after all this time, rest up at the Inn. Then, enter the tower in
the southwest area.
===============
Great Edo Tower
===============
In here again, go directly forward and up the stairs to 2F. Continue through
the small room to 3F, then southward up there to reach 4F via the stairs. On
the top floor again, go forward and talk to the man standing in the back. He
will talk to you before engaging you in battle again. Read the Bosses section
for help defeating the Mech Chairman boss.
After you bring down this boss, go up the stairs to 5F. Unlock the jail cell
with the Stealing Wire, then talk to the women inside. After that, make your
way back out of the tower. Rest up in town before heading out again.
=========
Overworld
=========
Outside, use the Bee Whistle to retrieve your flying vehicle. Then, fly
directly to the west as one of the women at the tower told you. You will find
a crescent-shaped island. Land there and enter the village.
================
Crescent Village
================
Here, you can rest up at the Inn or buy supplies in the item shop. There is a
building in the northeast area where you can say yes and get a free 310 Ryou!
You can do this as many times as you like, but I'm sure you have plenty of
money by now. Anyway, exit the village and go north to a cave.
===============
Suspicious Cave
===============
In here, follow the path northward and talk to the old man in the way. Listen
to his story, and he will move out of the way for you. With that done, go
down the stairs to level B2. Go around the corner and you will hear a voice
calling to you. Continue north to a path split, where you can go west or to
the east. Both paths connect farther to the north, but there are a lot of
chests to be found. They mostly contain old weapons for Goemon, though on the
east side you will find the rare Hedgehog Hat and the Strong Man Hood (second
best head gear in the game).
When you are ready to proceed, get to the northwest area of the room and go
down the stairs to B3. Get around this floor by going through a series of
rooms connected by stairs. At the far southwest area, go into the room and
continue down through it to level B5. You will emerge in a room where you can
go in three directions ahead.
Start by taking the eastern path around to some stairs. Go down them to reach
B6. Both paths wrap around the room, leading to the south. The east side has
a Small Pipe in a chest, while the west side has the Rainbow Clothes (great
armor for Ebisumaru). At the south end, go downstairs to B7. Head north to a
chest containing the Large Pipe, then continue to the northwest area of the
floor. Go down the stairs there to reach B8. On this level, there are two
chests. Open both to get the Dragon King Armor and the Hero Pipe, and equip
both right away (the armor is the best available for Koryuuta in the game).
Now, return to B5 and take the western path from the stairs this time. Down
here, go around the room to find some chests. The important ones are on the
left side, where you can find another Mechanical Suit and the Masamune (best
weapon for your fourth party member, so equip it). There is an old Spark Pipe
on the east side. After you're done here, go back upstairs to B5. This time
around, take the middle path straight down. At the end, go upstairs to B4.
In this room, follow the path around to find some stairs nearby. Take them up
to a side room where you can open a chest containing the Dragon King Sword
(best weapon in the game for Koryuuta). Equip it, then exit the room and
continue onward. Follow the path along the water to find a bridge. Open the
chest in the corner to find a Bastard Pipe, then cross the bridge ahead.
At the other end, check the sign, then walk onto the end of the broken pier.
You need to use the Hero Pipe as an item (unequip it from Goemon so you can
do this). Once you use it, the bridge will be completed in front of you.
Equip your weapon again, then follow the bridge all the way upward. You will
ultimately end up on the Moon! For now, enter the nearby village.
========
Rabirabi
========
In this strange village occupied by rabbits, go to the item shop and sell off
all of the old equipment. That way you can free up space for buying recovery
items such as Hot Dogs. You will also want to rest up at the Inn. Then, talk
to the residents of the village if you want. If you head to the northern
enclosed area of town, go to the eastern wall and search the north part to
find a hidden 100 Ryou! After that, head out of the village.
====
Moon
====
From the village, head northeast to find a lone building. This is the Elder's
house. Before you enter, make sure you remove the Masamune from Haduki (you
will see why shortly). To proceed, go inside and talk to the Elder. After a
lot of conversation, Haduki will leave your party. The Elder will then open a
passage for you to use outside. Go down the stairs outside and get through
the short underground passage to reach the area beyond the mountains.
Follow the path as it winds around the rest of the Moon. If you are not at
around Level 30 at this point, I would seriously recommend you fight the
enemies around here until you are. At the end of the path, you will find a
blue dome. This is the Trick Dome, so head inside.
==========
Trick Dome
==========
You will arrive in the middle of an intersection on the first floor. The
north path leads to an eventual dead end, as does the eastern path. Begin by
going to the west. Go around the corner and up the stairs to 2F. In there,
open the chest to find the excellent Tiger Gauntlet; be sure to equip it
right away! After that, head back down to 1F and take the southbound path
from the start.
Follow the path southward and around to some stairs. Go up them to reach 2F.
There, simply go forward and continue upstairs to 3F, then repeat this ahead
to reach 4F. On 4F, go forward to reach an intersection. First, go south and
head through the next couple of rooms. When you reach the prison, unlock it
with the Stealing Wire, and open the chest inside to find Rainbow Clothes.
Return to the 4F intersection and head north. Walk along the east side of
this part to enter a hidden room. Inside are five chests containing a Plum
Rice Ball, Salmon Rice Ball, Hot Dog, Teriyaki Burger, and Super Rice Ball.
Exit this secret room and continue east at the split this time. At the next
path split ahead, head south first. Open the chest at the end to get the
Devil Flute, which is the best weapon in the game for Ebisumaru. Equip it and
head back north.
Next, head east again to a third intersection. If you go north, you will find
stairs leading downward. Take them to a small room with a chest containing a
Teriyaki Burger. Back upstairs, continue eastward and head up those stairs to
level 5F. Up here, follow the path around the corner to reach a split. Take
the narrow path to the northeast and you will reach two chests. Open them to
get another Hedgehog Hat and the Rabbit Ear (best head gear for Ebisumaru).
After that, go back through the path to the start of this floor. This time,
go south and east at the next split. There is a small alcove to the north;
walk to the northeast corner of it to find another hidden room. Open the
three chests inside to get a total of 3010 Ryou. Exit the room and go east to
find one more chest; open it to get the Pope Armor (best armor in the game
for Goemon).
Now, go all the way to the southwest side of the room, and follow the path
north and east to the very end. Go down the stairs to reach a new section of
4F. Go forward and use the Stealing Wire to open the door. Then, talk to the
guy in front of you. He is Pemopemo and will join your party as the fourth
party member! This guy is very powerful and equipped with the best gear
available for his character! His technique is also very powerful.
From here, unlock the second door and go forward to find Pemopemo's UFO. Step
aboard and you will automatically be taken to a nearby satellite called the
Trick Star.
==========
Trick Star
==========
When you arrive here, the UFO will be docked at the entrance. You can ride it
back to Rabirabi, which I recommend so you can organize your inventory and
recover your party. Anyway, from the entrance, head south to an intersection.
Take the westbound path around to a chest containing a Mallet. Return to the
main area and go east to reach some stairs. Go up them to 2F.
On this floor, go around until you reach the intersection. Go west to reach a
room with a chest containing another Laser Blade. Then, head north to another
split around the corner. Go directly northward to some stairs and take them
up to 3F. There, go south and open the chest in the southwest corner to get a
Hot Dog. Then, head eastward until you see the stairs. Take them up to 4F.
Go forward and use the Stealing Wire to open the prison cell ahead. Go in and
talk to the alien who will run away. So, continue upstairs to 5F. On this
level, start by going south from the corner. Go down the first set of stairs
you see to reach another room. In there, open the chest to get a Super Rice
Ball. Return to 5F and continue going south and all the way east. In the
southeast corner, there are some stairs going down. Take them into a room
full of chests. All of them are trapped with enemies except for the far right
chest. Open that one to get the Muramasa Pipe (best weapon for Goemon).
Equip the new weapon and exit the room. Continue north along the east side of
5F and you will see an alcove with stairs leading upward. Go up them to 6F.
There, go forward to another intersection. To the west is a chest holding a
Teriyaki Burger, and to the east a Hot Dog in another chest. Go north to find
a door that can not be opened just yet. Continue to the back of the room to
spot an evil figure. Heal up, then talk to the enemy to engage it in a boss
battle. Read the Bosses section for help defeating the Trick King.
Once you win, you will receive the King Key. With it, head back to the south
and the previously locked door will be destroyed. The ship will also go into
a self-destruct sequence. Go into the now open area and head downstairs. Head
through the next few rooms to reach the UFO again. Board it to escape the
star before it explodes!
=========
Overworld
=========
You will then be dropped off near a Teahouse back on Earth. Pemopemo will
leave your party as well. So, go into the Teahouse and spend 10 Ryou to rest
up. After that, go north and enter the cave.
=============
Hope Mountain
=============
In this area, go along the path and you will meet Haduki again. Talk to her
and she will rejoin your party. You will also be given the Gold Hammer key
item. Be sure to equip Haduki with that spare Laser Blade you found before!
Then, go downstairs to level B2.
On this level, then go forward to reach the first locked door. On each of the
eight floors ahead, you will need to use each of the eight keys you have
accumulated to get through. Here is the order in which you use the keys:
B2: King Key (おうじゃのカギ)
B3: Hot Key (あついぞのカギ)
B4: Cold Key (さむいなのカギ)
B5: Salt Key (ソルトのカギ)
B6: White Whale Key (はくげいのカギ)
B7: War Cry Key (おたけびのカギ)
B8: Dark Key (まっくらけのカギ)
B9: Earth Key (だいちのカギ)
Once you get through all of the doors, you will be on level B10 in a room
with a bridge and water. Go forward to reach an altar with a glowing orb on
it. Once the ball shines, it will be revealed that the Haduki who just joined
you was an imposter! Luckily for you, the real Haduki will appear and help
you out. Goemon will automatically use the Gold Hammer to destroy the orb on
the altar. You will then be entered into the final boss battle. Read that
section if you need help!
Once the final battle is over, your party will leave the mountain cave. Enjoy
the ending scenes, and congratulations on beating this game!

Spirit Ghost 500 18 48 15 15 60 340

Temple School
For the first boss battle, it is actually tougher compared to the first game
in this series! Anyway, this boss attacks using a thunder attack which can
hit a single party member for 15-20 HP each time. It is essential that you
have Ebisumaru using his Rifuru ability to recover HP as needed. If you are
at Level 7, Goemon should use his Tanker ability to cause a lot of damage in
each round. As for Ebisumaru, attacking normally is the best approach so TP
is saved for healing.

Wolf 900 0 88 47 24 100 400
おおかみウルフン
Youkan
This interesting wolf boss is weak against fire, and luckily your party is
able to dish out fire-based attacks with ease. Ebisumaru's Dai-Flame and
Simon's Holy Water abilities will be very useful, while the others use normal
attacks. The boss can attack your party for 40 HP or so of damage with each
hit, so you will want to have Koryuuta heal as needed. The fire attacks you
inflict can take upwards of 100 HP away from the boss each time, so this
battle will move along rather quickly as a result.

Dracula 840 0 100 55 36 60 500
ドラキュラン
Early European Ship
When facing Dracula, you will want to use a lot of your strongest-hitting
abilities. Stay away from elemental attacks, instead use Simon's Holy Water,
Goemon's Tanker, and Ebisumaru's Chibi Ebisun to cause the most damage. The
boss can hit you for 60 HP or so each attack, so be ready to heal if it is
necessary. As long as you stay away from elemental attacks and other wasteful
abilities, this battle should be relatively quick.

Jungle Jim 780 0 110 50 34 180 0
ジャングルジム
Jungle Hut
This battle should be relatively simple, despite the fact that Jungle Jim can
hit pretty hard. Stick with your strongest techniques with Koryuuta healing
when needed (her abilities and attacks are not as great here). After each
round, if you are using your best abilities, they will take at least 200 HP
away from the boss. Thus, the battle will fly by as long as everyone attacks
and only Koryuuta heals when necessary (below 100 HP).

Trick Adult 620 0 124 65 32 240 200

UFO
This boss is actually not that difficult, despite the fact it has high attack
power. If you stick with using Koryuuta to heal up, while the Girl boosts
your party's attack power with her Good Luck! ability, you will be in great
shape. It is weak against lightning attacks, so using Goemon's Thunder will
be useful here. Luckily it does not have that much health, so you should be
able to defeat it in a handful of rounds.

Rogue (x3) 300 0 108 30 21 4 10
ゴロつき
Overworld (east of Otogi)
For this battle, you must face three of these Rogues at once. Techniques are
not useful here, as these guys can dodge any such attack. Even still, using
regular attacks will be more than sufficient to take down these guys rather
quickly. Their attacks are not that strong, so it should take a round to kill
each one.

Turtle Boss 1400 36 154 50 40 300 500
カメおやぶん
Undersea Temple
Compared to the others so far, this boss will be tough, and it has a lot of
HP to go along with it. It can attack your entire party at once with an
earthquake attack, taking close to 40 HP away from each. You will need to
devote one party member (Koryuuta) to healing in order to stay alive here.
Use the Girl's Good Luck! ability to boost your party's attacks, then stick
with regular attacks to beat this guitar-playing turtle out!

Large Centipede 1200 32 160 70 50 400 500
おおムカデ
Centipede Mountain
This multi-legged boss can be quite difficult, especially when it attacks the
entire party all at once with a fire-based move. It can also attack single
targets with a stronger attack, taking 70-80 HP away in one shot. It is very
much essential that you have someone healing the person with the lowest HP
every round, using Salmon Rice Balls to refill TP as needed. The Girl's Good
Luck! ability is important for regular attacks, but if Goemon has Lightning
Punch (Level 24) and you use Ebisumaru's Chibi Ebisun, your attacks will be
quite strong here. If more than one person's HP is below 70 or so, you need
to devote a round to healing. You need to outlast this creature, and if you
have enough TP to heal, it will be easy to do so.

Mecha-Princess 1200 40 170 70 26 500 500
メカヒメちゃん
Flower Castle
The battle plan against this robotic princess is the same as your previous
boss fight. She only uses regular attacks, occasionally shooting out missiles
at single party members, but they pack a punch. If someone's HP is below 80
or so, that is when you need to heal them, otherwise an all-out attack is the
better. Using the Girl's Good Luck! technique is essential, as at this point
in the game, you can use that along with everyone's regular attacks to beat
this boss down quickly. Using strong techniques such as Goemon's Lightning
Punch and Ebisumaru's Chibi Ebisun will be great as well.

Snow Queen 1300 32 148 68 50 300 88
ゆきのじょおう
Frost House
As a note, this boss is tough since she can hit your entire party with ice-
based attacks. She can also absorb ice attacks, so do NOT use them here! You
are also limited to three party members this time, so you need to pay even
more attention to stay alive. Use Goemon's Lightning Punch, Ebisumaru's Chibi
Ebisun, while Koryuuta heals or attacks normally. If she has the Hustle
ability, use it to aid the rest of your party in their attacks. As long as
your party is above 50 HP or so, you can continue the attacking without
interruption.

Sugar Castle
You have to fight both of these bosses together here. The individuals are
weak, but you now have to deal with two attacks per turn instead of one. They
are weak against earth-based attacks, so use the appropriate technique to do
the most damage (Goemon's Ri-Shake will help). Each of the bosses can attack
for upwards of 80 HP a hit, so you need to be ready to heal after a couple of
rounds. I would suggest concentrating on one at a time, that way the battle
is made somewhat easier. Ebisumaru's Turtle Attack will also be quite
effective here, as is Koryuuta's Dragon Transform ability if she learned it
already (Level 21).

Naspiroshiki 1400 48 176 74 56 690 470
ナスピロシキ
Monster Castle
Despite appearing to be powerful, this creature is not all that difficult as
long as you heal when appropriate. This boss likes to use an ice-based attack
to hit everyone at once, but it is relatively weak (around 40 HP per person)
so if you enter this battle at full health, you will not need to heal too
often. Use your strongest techniques at this point (I recommend Goemon's
Thunder Punch, Ebisumaru's Turtle Attack, and Koryuuta's Dragon Transform).
If anyone's HP gets below 100, that is when you should heal; otherwise it is
not that big of a concern. You still need to outlast this boss though, so
use your TP wisely!

Hyakumensou 1800 0 186 70 60 40 400

For this battle, you will have a new temporary party member, Haduki! Anyway,
this boss is not that difficult as long as you pummel it with your best
abilities (Lightning Punch, Turtle Attack, Dragon Transform, and Haduki's
Light Shuriken). The boss will attack a single party member each turn for a
lot of damage (close to 80 HP), so be ready to heal with Koryuuta as needed.
If everyone is using their abilities, it should only take a handful of turns
to win this relatively simple battle.

Mech Chairman 2800 30 190 90 65 720 500
メカニしかいしゃ
Great Edo Tower
This mechanical boss is not really difficult, but it uses an earthquake
attack that hits your entire party all at once. Granted, it only causes about
30 HP of damage to each person, it can wear you down rather quickly if you
are not strong enough. It is highly recommended you enter this battle with
full TP, so you can use your strongest abilities once again to bring down its
high HP fast. Luckily, if Koryuuta has learned Riruoru, she can fully heal
the entire party if she has enough TP and the situation is desperate. Other
than that, it's really a matter of outlasting this boss, and you can do it
easily with enough TP!

Trick King 3800 40 220 94 60 400 510

Trick Star
This is another of those battles where you need to outlast the boss and its
high HP. It can either attack a single person for nearly 100 HP a shot, or
use a strong lightning attack on the entire party. I highly recommend having
Hot Dogs in stock, so you can recover TP (since you will need Koryuuta to use
Riruoru). Use your strongest techniques as usual, but be mindful of your TP.
You don't want to be caught with less than 120 HP and no way to quickly heal
up!

Hyper Features 5000 150 230 94 68 0 0

Hope Mountain
At last, the final battle! As you would expect, this boss is capable of a few
different elemental attacks that hit everyone all at once for around 40 HP
apiece. As long as your party is at least Level 30 and enters with full HP/TP
with plenty of backup items, you will stand a good chance here. There really
is not much to say about strategy aside from keeping your party's HP above
around 120 HP, and using Hot Dogs to recover TP (especially for Koryuuta and
Haduki, as their abilities are most essential). Since this is the last fight,
you will want to use Super Rice Balls to heal the entire party inside of
wasting TP on techniques to do the same thing. TP is best used for attacking
in this fight.

-= 12. Mini-Games -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
In four towns throughout the game, there will be special buildings where you
can play mini-games. You do not use Ryou in them, rather you pay with Bell
Coupons. You earn 1 Coupon for every 100 Ryou you spend in the game. You can
use those coupons in the gift shop at the Deep Sea Port to claim some prizes,
listed below.
=====
Gifts
=====
Here are the prizes you can trade your Bell Coupons in for. This can only be
done at the Deep Sea Port.
Name Coupons Effects
---- ------- -------
Bear Pass 500 Ride the bullet train for free.
くまのパス
Bear Whistle 2000 Force an enemy to flee the battle.
くまのよぶこ
Bear Alarm 8000 Recover from the sleep status ailment.
くまのめざまし
Stuffed Bear 17000 Allows you to flee the battle immediately (does
くまのめいぐるみ not work against bosses).
Bear House 40000 Stay at the Deep Sea Port Inn for free.
くまのべっそう
==========
Mini-Games
==========
Shaking Village
---------------
Here, you pay 10 Coupons and there will be four drums on the screen. You will
be shown a specific pattern, which you must replicate exactly when it is your
turn. You will win 20 Coupons for the first round and your total will double
with each successive win. If you mess up, you lose all of your winnings.
Irahai Harbor
-------------
Pay 10 Coupons to play a matching game of sorts. There will be six panels
with various ninjas behind each. The ninjas will move around as the panels
flip around faster and faster. When they stop, you must be able to pick the
panel that the red ninja is hiding behind. This can be tricky since there are
two characters in red, but you need to make sure it is the ninja! With each
win, you double your winnings.
Posan
-----
Here, you have to navigate through a maze in the first-person view. There are
chests scattered around containing more Coupons, but some contain traps as
well. Complete the maze to keep your winnings, or else you win nothing.
Deep Sea Port
-------------
In this game, you pay a simple round of RoShamBo (or rock-paper-scissors).
Your hand is on the right side, and you must push a button to coincide with
the action you want to take. If you win the match, you win 8x your bet. You
can only win three times in a row for a maximum of 5120 Coupons before the
game ends, though you can leave early and keep your winnings without being
forced to play more.

-= 13. Secrets/Tips and Tricks -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
================
Item Duplication
================
First, go to a village where a Bank building is located. This trick also only
works if you have less than 5 Ryou (it costs 5 Ryou to use the Bank to store
items). Go there and attempt to deposit the item you wish to copy. You will
be stopped since you can not afford the 5 Ryou to do so. Keep pressing A
repeatedly and the same message will appear. Each time you go through this
message, you will get another of that item. When you leave the place without
depositing anything, check your inventory to find your duplicate items!
==================
Secret Hot Springs
==================
On the overworld, there are three specific locations where if you walk into
them, you will find a hidden hot spring. You can fully recover your party's
HP/TP at these springs, free of charge. Below are their locations:
1. West of the Barbell Tower, go to the stairs leading into the underground
passage. Go into the corner northwest of the stairs.
2. Walk around the east side of Centipede Mountain to the back of it. The
last space is the hidden hot spring.
3. In the land of Antarctica, go west of the port to spot a narrow path
leading northward (it is just before the forest area). At the end of that
path, you will find the spring.
