Why Fun House?
This section aims to answer the question I'm sure is on everyone's mind:
Why would anyone write a guide for this game in this day and age?
Well, for one thing, I like this game. It's pretty unique, and for that reason
the gameplay still stands up, even today. I was inspired to write this guide
because I wanted to play through this game again, and no such guide existed.
I knew if I didn't write it, there would probably never be one.
Also, this is my first FAQ, so writing it for a game that no one is ever going
to look at again might actually not be such a bad thing. And despite being
a 16 year-old game that was never very popular when it came out, I bet someone
is going to read this guide. That's the magic of the internet. In fact,
you're reading it right now.
If nothing else, this guide helped me beat the game on the original NES, so at
least one person was helped by it.

Game Information
This section contains information about the game itself.
###############################################################################
G-1
Controls:
Here is how to control the game:
A - Move forward
B - Shoot Tomato
Left/Right - Pivot Left/Right
Start - Pause
Pretty simple.
The movement control is kind of unique - the dpad doesn't actually move you,
it's just used to turn. You have to hold A to move forward. Suffice to say,
the A button will be getting a lot of use.
You press B to fire the tomatoes. You can fire several by pressing it rapidly.
The first floor of the game is intended to get you accustomed to the controls.

Overview of Fun House:
TV Show:
Fun House was a children's game show that aired in the late 80s and early 90s.
It was hosted by J.D. Roth. Two teams of contestants played various messy
games and took quizzes in order to get points. The winning team got to enter
the Fun House, which had different rooms each day, for a chance to win prizes.
It was apparently very similar to Double Dare. I've never actually seen the
TV show.
You can find more at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fun_House_%28game_show%29
Video Game:
A video game based on the show was released by High-Tech Expressions in 1991.
Hi-Tech made a number of other games based on popular kids game shows, such
as Win, Lose, or Draw, and Double Dare (which ironically, bares no resemblance
to this game whatsoever, despite the shows apparently being near-identical).
The Fun House video game apparently bares minimal resemblance to the show,
but that's probably a good thing.
Fun House is a maze game where you traverse 72 mazelike environments, trying
to shoot all the targets and then grab the key before you run out of time.
To hinder you on your quest, the maze is filled with obstacles and enemies.
However, a never-give-up attitude backed by an unlimited number of continues
will see you to victory.
###############################################################################
G-3
General Tips:
Here are some tips that you can apply to basically every level in the game:
- In each level, you goal is to shoot all the targets, and then get the key.
The key appears after you shoot the last target. It will be right where
the final target was.
- You have to get the key before you run out of time. You start with 30
seconds, but you can gain and lose time during the stage. Shoot targets and
picking up clocks gives you more time, but being hit by enemies takes it
away.
- Finding the 1 target in a level with numbered targets is often the bulk of
the work for that level. The maps make this job a lot easier, if you choose
to use them.
- You should always collect clocks if you see them. Money should usually be
collected, unless it would cost you a lot of time. Points are nearly useless
and you shouldn't collect them unless they're on your way.
- Collecting 25 coins gives an extra life. You can have up to 6 lives. If you
have 6 lives, getting 25 coins does nothing, but you keep the coins. When
your lives drop to 5, collecting a single coin will give you another life.
- If you run out of lives, you can continue infinite times. All it will cost
you is your points. This means you can keep going until you beat the game,
get bored, or your NES overheats. Whichever comes first.
- Be very careful of the gun and strong banana shooter. They can take your
time away. The other enemies are a bit less dangerous.
- There are many items hidden in the walls. To get them, run into the wall.
I tried to bash every wall I could while making this walkthrough, but I have
undoubtedly missed some hidden items. If you find some, you can contact me.
See the final section below.
- Sometimes, the targets may be hard to get to, which could make getting the
key difficult, so you should think about which target to hit last. There is
often a single unmarked target that is easy to get to specifically to give
you the key. Check the walkthrough for more tips on this.

Known Warps and Shortest Path:
The following is a list of all warps that I currently know of:
1 - 3 to 2 - 4
1 - 6 to 4 - 5
2 - 1 to 2 - 2
3 - 2 to 3 - 6
4 - 4 to 7 - 2
6 - 5 to 8 - 5
9 - 5 to 12 - 1
Shortest Path Through the Game:
Beat stages 1 - 1 to 1 - 5
Take the warp in 1 - 6 to 4 - 5
Beat stages 4 - 5 to 6 - 4
Take the warp in 6 - 5 to 8 - 5
Beat stages 8 - 5 to 9 - 4
Take the warp in 9 - 5 to 12 - 1
Beat stages 12 - 1 to 12 - 6
This allows you to beat the game while only visiting 32 levels. That's less
than half of the total amount!
It's possible there might be an even shorter way, if there's some warps I
haven't found yet.

Walkthrough:
This is the main section of this guide. A walkthrough and map for each of the
72 stages in Fun House. There are 12 floors, each with 6 levels (or rooms,
as the game calls them).
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be aware that since the point of this game is basically to navigate the mazes,
using maps makes it significantly easier. With this guide, it should be
reasonably possible to beat the game without ever losing a life.
You should think about how to use this guide that will be most fun for you.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, I'll explain the map format:
0-0 Sample Stage
Targets: 2, 4

# CK#
# G b o *W####
# S #####

################
Here we go, there's a sample stage containing every item in the game.
You can see from the information above the stage that this is floor 0, level 0,
the stage is called Sample Stage, and there are 2 unmarked targets, and 4
numbered targets. The first number is the amount of unmarked targets, the
second the number of numbered targets.
In every level, you always start in the bottom most corner, so in this map,
in this map it happens to have a T in it. I don't mark this spot on the map,
because you always start in the bottom left. You also start with 30 seconds
on the timer for every level in the game.
Now, let's look at the legend for this map:
# - this is a wall. These mark the boundaries of the stage.
- blank space is the floor. The floor will be under every tile, but if the
space is totally blank, that means there's nothing else of note there.
/ - this is ice. Ice is an alternative to floor. If an item is on the ice,
I'll list the item instead of the ice tile. For many levels, almost the
entire floor is ice.
> - this is an arrow tile. It's another alternative to floor. The arrow tiles
push you in the direction that the arrow indicates. This one is right, but
there are left, down, and up tiles, too. You can run against the arrows to
very slowly go the other way.
T - this is a target. This target is unmarked, meaning you can shoot it
whenever. Shoot all targets and the key appears where the last one was,
touch the key to beat the level. Shooting each target is worth 5 seconds,
and you get 5 extra seconds (10 total) for shooting the final one.
1 - this is also a target, however, this one is numbered. You have to shoot
these in order. Other than that, they are identical to regular targets.
Clearly, the first target is 1, then 2, then 3... There can be up to 9.
If unmarked targets also appear, you can those whenever you like.
p - these are points. The capital P means more points. I don't always note
the locations of points because they're not important.
m - this is a coin. The lowercase m is silver, uppercase is gold. Silver is
worth 1, and gold is worth 5. Collecting 25 points gives you an extra
life, so get these when you can.
c - this is a clock. Clocks give you more time, so they're very important.
The lowercase one is a small clock, which gives 7 seconds. The uppercase
is a big clock, which gives 15 seconds.
K - this is the super skate. It makes you run a lot faster, but it's also
harder to control. It only lasts for a little while after you pick it up,
and it doesn't come back.
G - this is the gun. It spins in a circle, shooting tomatoes at you. If you
are hit, you lose 3 seconds. Try to avoid these if you can.
b - this is a blob. They move back and forth, blocking your way. If you hit
them, you'll be knocked backwards, but you don't lose any time. Just go
around them. There's actually two types of blobs, blue and red. The
red one is faster, but really it makes little difference so I don't
differentiate between them in the maps.
s - this is a banana shooter. The lowercase one fires seeds, which push you
backwards. The uppercase one fires bananas, which push you backwards and
takes away 3 seconds. Try not to get shot by the bananas. The shooters
only face one direction and cannot turn around, so if you get behind or
beside them you're safe. However, sometimes they move a little bit.
o - this is a bumper. They are totally immobile, and are the only enemy you
can actually destroy with your tomatoes. It takes 5 shots to kill it.
If you touch them, you'll be tossed back quite a long way. Generally,
it's not worth the time to kill it unless it's blocking an entrance.
* - this denotes something hidden. These will always be near a wall, you ram
into the wall to reveal the item. If the hidden item is a coin, you'll
just see a star. Otherwise, the type of item will be immediately to the
right of the star. This means the star may not always be against the wall
if the hidden item is on the right wall. I don't indicate which wall the
item is hidden in on the map, but there's usually at most 3 to try.
Crucial hidden items are usually noted in the walkthrough. I don't tend
to note hidden points at all because they just waste time.
W - this is a warp. These are almost always hidden, so you'll usually see *W.
Touching this immediately skips you ahead to a different stage, you don't
even have to beat the one you're in. These are always noted in the
walkthrough.
The maps aren't always perfectly to scale. For some of the earlier levels,
I made the maps bigger so you have a better idea of what's going on. For some
later levels, the map might even be smaller if there's a ton of empty space.
I also never put numbered targets right beside each other in the map, because
I thought there might be double digit number targets when I started. It turns
out they only go up to 9. Oh well. Also, some of the maps (especially those
with lots of flow and ice tiles) can be a bit cluttered. Oh well, I blame
the level designer for cramming them so full of stuff. You should still be
able to figure it out.
Also, since objects can appear in the middle, or to the sides of a tile, I have
to show the objects as just being on that tile. Sometimes this results in a
minor loss of detail. Usually it's just something like two coins on one space.

Floor 1:
This world has basically no challenges in it. It's meant to introduce you
to the game. Head over to the controls section if you can't figure out how
to move. There are a couple warps in this world that you can use if you've
already been through the intro levels before.

There's a warp here, touch the wall immediately to your left when you start
to warp to 2 - 4. This is probably the "touch and go" they were talking about.
If you intend to do the level, it's a little more involved than the previous
ones but still nothing to sweat about.
This is the first appearance of the blobs (b). They just push you back if
you touch them. Try not to, but they really aren't much of a threat. There
are also arrow tiles, which push you in the direction the water flows in.
In the top left corner, you can bump the walls for some points and a coin. I
won't generally include these in the map because there's tons of them and they
aren't really vital to completing most levels.
You might as well pick up the coins in the bottom right, 25 coins gets you an
extra life.

Guns (G) appear here. They're nasty. They spin around shooting tomatoes
at you, that take off time if you're hit. Be careful not to be shot too
many times, or you'll be in trouble.
There's a warp here. It's right behind and to the left of the gun near
target 5. It goes to 4 - 5. Otherwise, just try to shoot all the targets and
survive. There's a lot of coins here, but don't go out of your way. It's
not worth it if you run out of time.

This is where the level design starts to get more complicated. There's also
a lot of ice here, which can make moving difficult. This floor will give you

Wow, this is a lot more complex than world 1. This is the first appearance
of banana shooters (s). These are the weaker ones, they just fire seeds.
The seeds don't take away time, but they can push you onto the arrow tiles.
There's also ice tiles, it's hard to control your player while on those.
There's a warp here to 2 - 2, ie, the next level, and it's in plain sight.
You might as well just pick up the coins and then take it. Otherwise,
take out the targets near you, then go straight to the right, then diagonally,
then right again. You can collect the gold coins on your way.

More complex level design. Get used to it. First appearance of the
bumper (o). You can shoot these to death if you want.
This level is filled with arrow tiles. As the name suggests, don't try to
fight against them, just let them carry you. There are two choices from
the main area, near the bumper. Take the top set of right arrows first.
You don't have to, but the bottom section is annoying, and the top has a
big clock. Don't take the first set of down arrows you see after that, make
sure you get the target up there first. Then head back to the main area
and take the lower set of right arrows.
There's a very annoying shooter positioned at the exit of these arrows. It
tries to flick you into the bottom arrow tiles with its seeds, and it might
well get you. If so, you'll have to go around again to get that target.
At least above that target are two gold coins. Hug the top wall as you ride
the arrows to position yourself safely, then run by after it shoots.
After that, there's just the lone target in that empty room left. Floor over!

Floor 3:
This floor is filled with mazes and other levels where the order of targets
isn't as clear as it has been. There's a warp on stage 2 you can use to

There's not much else to say here. Avoid the bumpers, and skip that money

First appearance of the Super Skate (K). This powerup is located along the
top wall, in the arrow tiles. With this, you move MUCH FASTER. You can
easily fight the flow of the arrow tiles now, but it doesn't last long.
First, head diagonally up and shoot the 1 target. Now, head into the top
arrow tiles, collecting the skate, and shooting the unnumbered target. Don't
run here, just let the flow move you, it makes it easier to aim. After
reaching the main area, push into the arrow tiles to the right (you'll be
going against the flow, but with the skate you'll make it) and quickly shoot
the other unmarked target. This saves you going through the flow from the
other side. After that, it's a simple matter to clean up the other targets.
Whatever you do, DON'T LEAVE THE UNMARKED TARGETS FOR LAST! You'll regret
it if you do. It's very hard to grab the key in there.

This one isn't hard at all. The trick here is the blobs that guard the

What a terribly annoying level. I bet you took that warp to 3 - 6 now, huh?
Despite how much work I put into it, the map here is basically unnecessary.
This course is just any icy track filled with arrow tiles and targets.
You go around the course clockwise, shooting the targets as you go. You'll
have to make 2 full spins, at the end of which you'll likely be low on time
so don't mess around.
Don't miss the big clock that appears near the 3 and 6 targets. You need
that extra time. There's a hidden gold coin in the left wall just before
the clock, you can get that if you're cocky.

This level is all about arrow tiles. It's somewhat hard to tell from the
map, but the tiles kind of spin around the targets, which are in the middle.
There's not much to say here, except that you'll have to navigate the arrows
well. However, this is crucial:
DO NOT SHOOT THE UNMARKED TARGET UNTIL LAST!
It's there to give you easy access to the key. If you have to try to get to
the middle of one of these orbits, you might as well kiss your life goodbye.
It's incredibly hard to do.
If you've got lots of time, there's a ton of points on the top wall, and 14
coins line the right wall on your way down to shoot that last target.

Floor 4:
Argh. I hate this floor. It's like every level was designed for maximum
annoyance. It's a mix of arrow tile courses and mazes, that's sure to
frustrate anyone who doesn't skip over it. I won't blame you if you rely
heavily on the maps here.

This was, without a doubt, my most hated stage as a child. Banana shooters
guard narrow tunnels between the rooms, and will sap crucial time if they hit
you. You have to make two full spins around the level, ideally without getting
shot too many times.
There's not much to say here, this is all in how well you can control your
player. Shoot the unmarked target in the top left the first time you go to
that room, there's no sense leaving it for last.

If there was a stage I hated more than the previous one, it was this one.
Every time you go game over here, you get to do Escher's Castle again. Fun.
This is an annoying maze filled with banana shooters. Believe me, when you're
running around like a chicken with your head cut off trying to find the last
target that you can't find, those shooters get on your nerves real fast.
Luckily, with this map, you can be spared the fate of my younger self.
There's a hidden gold coin near the 5. It's easy to get, so you might as well.
All the other hidden coins are silver, so I'd skip them.

A long course filled with arrow tiles and targets. Get the general location
of the targets from the map, then head in there and try to shoot them out.
You'll probably need to run against the flow so you can hit the targets.
It's all practice, really. You'll get it eventually.
If you miss a target, don't shoot the final one at the exit. Again, it's there
so you can get the key easily. It'll be very hard to grab the key if it spawns
somewhere in the middle of the track.

Lol. I'm the somebody, I guess.
Anyway, this is another maze level. It also has a warp, all the way to 7 - 2!
The warp is found by turning right at the first intersection, then up. Hit
the bottom wall near the target to find it.
If you don't want to take the warp, head left at the first intersection. You
need that clock right now and you won't want to come back. Next, backtrack
and head right. Head up at the next intersection, then backtrack and go
right. The rest of the level is straightforward, and this path lets you avoid
dealing with the annoying gun.

A fitting end to a very annoying floor. This level is all about tricking you.
The level name is actually a big clue as to how to beat it. You just follow
the path laid out by the targets, making a beeline to the 1 target. Whatever
you do, don't head right from the first area. It leads to a path with a gun
on it that has no targets.
As long as you take the top right exit from the first area, and proceed
diagonally upwards, you'll get every target but the 2 on your way to the 1.
Then just retrace your steps and get the 2. Alternatively, if you want to go
back another way, there's a gold coin to be had by taking the first left on
your way back. Either way, floor 4 is finally done!

Annoying. This is another "get pulled along and shoot" level.
Shoot the 1, then dive right into the flow there. Make sure you shoot 2 to 5
in there, even if it means fighting the current. There's a gun right after the
5, so try not to let it shoot you. Then, head to the right (the left path
takes you back to the beginning), and head straight down at the fork.
You'll end up in another flow like the first one, only this time there's some
banana seed shooters there to annoy you. After shooting the 8, carefully
shoot the 9 from in-between the guns and finish the level.

Just when you thought this floor was off to a good start, it's another
random target hunt. Yay!
The trick here is that all the odd numbers are on the left, all the even on
the right, so you'll have to switch sides after every target. This is time-
consuming. Luckily for you, there's 2 clocks near the bottom of the right
side. One is hidden in the right wall, the other is by the 6. Get both of
these when you get the 6, and you should have enough time for the rest.
There's actually quite a lot of points hidden here, and there's also a gold
coin along the top. With all the time you'll have after getting those clocks,

Don't let the apparent complexity of the map throw you. This is actually very
simple. You just do a sort of zig-zag through the course.
First, head right into the arrows, then get the 1. Then move right and up one
row, enter the arrows, and get the 2. Then move left and up one row, enter
the arrows, and get the 3. Now head straight right for the 4. Then down one
and right one for the 5, and finally down and left for the 6. Slow down at
the end so you can get the key without going around again.
The biggest problem is the bumpers. They're in a very annoying location.

I question whether any kids are going to know what the "Van Allen Belt" is.
Nevertheless, this stage is evil. It's basically a big loop of arrows around
a center block, but with a twist: The numbers go THE WRONG WAY. Oh, there's
also 22 whole targets for you to shoot, more than any level to this point.
Here's what you have to do: Ride the belt, shooting all the targets you can,
until you reach the 1, then exit to the right. Now, run around the belt going
the other way, only entering briefly to shoot the targets. When you pass the
7, just keep going until you get all the targets. Annoyingly, there's enemies
along the sides to make this harder. However, if you do this well, there's
actually way more than enough time. I had 75 seconds left when I finished.
Just keep your head.
There's a gold coin behind the banana shooter on the left side of the belt.

This level is suspiciously similar to Binary System from the previous floor.
Here you don't have to alternate between the sides, but there's a lot more
enemies to watch out for, worst of all, two guns on each side right by the
numbered targets.
Finish off the left side in its entirety before you go to the right side.
Start from the bottom and make your way to the top, then take the upper set
of arrows to the right. Then, start from the top here and make your way down.

Kid gloves are off now. This is another "go through the arrows and shoot"
level, but this time there's no way to go back if you miss. Be careful as

At the very end is a room with 4 silver coins and a gold coin, if you've got

Yet another flow shooting level. Oh well, let's get this floor over with.
Step into the arrows at the bottom, and work your way into the main arrow maze.
Watch out for the banana shooters in here, and shoot the first 6 targets.
Can it be? We're on actual ground? It's not ice or anything!
If you've been following the map, though, you know the 7 is at the other end
and we're incredibly far away from it. Well, we just have to walk back.
To help us in this endeavour, there's a super skate hidden in the left wall
slightly above where the 6 was. This'll ensure you make it in time.
Along this route are some points and coins. Just run full tilt, there's no
obstacles or anything. That's it for this floor!

Although this level is absolutely huge, it's basically no challenge at all.
It's a huge icy room with the super skate and 4 targets, as well as a heck of
a lot of annoying bumpers. However, there's two big clocks at the bottom left
corner, worth a whopping 30 extra seconds. That's more than enough to beat
this level, even if you let the bumpers toss you around.
The skate will wear off eventually, which makes things easier on you.
Actually, you can try to avoid it altogether if you want it to be a cinch.

This is a rare level where shooting the bumpers is actually a good idea. I

This level design is just mean. Did you take the first set of up arrows at
the beginning? If so, congratulations, you're dead. See you next life.
You might think they hid a warp to save you in that top left corner, but no
it's just a small amount of points to mock you.
To actually beat this level, you have to SKIP THE FIRST SET OF UP ARROWS and
go all the way to the right, then all the way up, and then into those down
arrows. If the banana shooters try to flick you into the first set of up
arrows, fight with all you're worth to get out. Those lead only to death.
Once you make it to the down arrows, shooting the targets isn't hard,
they're all along the right wall, so just stay close to it. After reaching
the bottom (assuming you didn't miss any targets), you may now go back to
the first set of up arrows. Here, the targets are on the left, but it's
otherwise very similar to the first set.

"Figure 8" would have been a more accurate name for this level, because that's
what you end up doing. Head up for the 1, then right and down for the 2, then
right for the 3 (and the clock), then down for the 4, then left and up for the
5, then left for the 6, then go all the way back to the other side for the 7.
The banana shooters and blobs aren't really in a place to give you trouble.
Remember to slow yourself down at the 7 so you can get the key.

Remember the Van Allen Belt? This is pretty similar to it. You have to ride
the flow up until you see the 1, then go the other way, around the thin little
path, shooting all the targets. To make your life difficult, bumpers and
banana shooters will try to knock you off, back into the arrows.
However, there's a trick to this. All the bumpers are on either the left or
right edges of the path. As long as you align yourself on the center of the
path and move perfectly straight, you can run full speed and avoid them all.
Then you just have to watch for the banana shooters, and they shouldn't hurt
you enough to make you lose. I had 55 seconds to spare and I got the money
beyond the 9.

Argh. You have to cover a lot of ground in very little time here. Thankfully,
there are lots of super skates for you to use.
Just head straight right at the first intersection, don't bother going down,
there's only a few points down there and it wastes a LOT of time. We need
to get tearing through that spiral as soon as possible.
Try to only collect one super skate, and start running as fast as you can.
Grab the clock now, you need the time. Stay in the middle and mash the shoot
button, and you should hit all of the targets you come across. If you miss
one, forget about it, you can get it on the way back.
Eventually, you will reach the middle. The 1 is finally here, and so is
another super skate. Now it's time to go all the way back out, shooting the
numbered targets this time. When you get out, take the other super skate,
and finish up the 5 and the 6. That's it for this floor.

Floor 9:
This is probably the easiest floor since floor 3. The middle two levels can
be trouble if you don't know where to go, but with the maps it's a cakewalk.
There's also a huge warp on the fifth level that you might want to take,
the next two floors are hard.

Strange decor on this level, it's filled with empty target holes.
Like most levels of this type, the crucial thing here is knowing where the
targets are. Take the clock near the 6 on your way to the 1, it helps to
get it early. Then just follow the map to the other targets. Leave the
unmarked one for last, it's easier to get to than the 7.
You can shoot the targets without entering the arrow tiles. Just line yourself
up and snipe them from a distance to minimize the amount of hits you take.

This bares little resemblance to Chess. It's a lot more like Checkers.
The level designer here obviously knows a lot about biology, physics and
astronomy but little about board games.
Anyway, head right across the first row, then left across the second row.
Stick to the left as you make your way to the top, avoiding the blobs and
banana shooters. When you reach the top left corner, just head right across
this row, then left again and you're done.
There's a big clock in the third row, but you probably won't need it. I had
87 seconds left when I beat this one.
There's one extra target along the bottom row in one of the arrow blocks.
Someone's using an extra piece! Cheater!

This is an odd level. It's a strange shape, and it has only 1 numbered target.
There's also a ton of unused space. I wonder if there was supposed to be
another target somewhere?
Anyway, first head up, then right past the gun. Head up through these arrow
tiles, then ignore those right tiles and head up again. There should be a
target here. Shoot it, then head to your right. There's another target here.
Shoot this one too. Then head down, and shoot the 1 to get the key.
For such a huge stage, you really only have to traverse a tiny part of it.

This level's name is a complete misnomer. It's actually pretty well the path
of most resistance. I guess they might be referring to the route to the 1
target, which is the main trick here.
Head right at the first intersection, then ignore all of the arrow tiles and
just follow the path. This will eventually lead you to the 1 (as well as a
handy clock and super skate). Now, head back and into the next 3 arrow tiles
you encounter. Shoot everything in each one. Skip the fourth, until you get
the 3, then go back into the one you passed over.
From here, backtrack to the first intersection and head upwards. Turn right
at the bumper, then head up. You have to fight the arrows fairly hard here.
Then, take the right path. This one is even tougher, but at least you get
a clock. Just keep holding the A button, you'll get to the 6 eventually.

This is a really cool level. It's also the only stage with only one target.
It's also quite easy. It's a shame there aren't more like this.
Basically, you just have to walk along the top passage without getting hit
by the banana seed shooters and getting knocked into the arrows. To dodge
them, approach them slowly, wait for them to fire, then run past.
Despite what the title says about trying again, if you get hit you likely
won't have enough time to make it back. If you choose to drop into the third
set of arrows, there's 3 gold coins, and the middle tile has a hidden clock.
It's possible to get this and still clear the stage, but you have to motor.

Floor 10:
You're now 75% done the game. Granted, you could have been 92% done the game,
but you've chosen to tough it out through floors 10 and 11. Good for you.
You may regret that choice later.
This floor is a mixed bag. The first and last stages are really hard, but the
middle stages are rehashes of ones you've already faced (though they're harder
than they were before). In general, this is a pretty tough floor. Good luck.

Wow. Right off the bat, this floor is a doozy. I bet you're already wishing
you'd skipped it. Well, it's too late for that now, so let's get on with it.
This is a maze, and a fortress full of enemies at the same time. First,
head out into the ice zone from the top exit. The others have hard to dodge
banana shooters that will probably hit you. The 1 is in the top right of this
area. Then, take the exit to the right below you to get out of the ice. The
2 is right there.
Next is where I was stuck for a while. The 3 is below you, in those arrow
tiles. Take those (and the handy clock), and loop back around to where the 2
is. Now head right, and get the 4 and 5 on this loop (try not to get shot).
Backtrack to the 2 again, and head up. You're almost done now. Head left
for the 6, and then right for the 7. Take that, J.D.
By the way, J.D. was the name of the host of this show on TV. Thanks, Wiki.

A simple-looking level, but the execution can be tough.
Near the beginning of the level is a super skate. Turn around so you face left
before you get it. Then, the moment you pick it up, gun it! You have to head
the opposite direction from the arrows, and move inward each time the wall
opens up. Try to get all the way to the very inside before you run out of
super skate. This saves a massive amount of time.
From here, shoot and take the stuff in the middle, and head out one layer.
You're now going to ride each ring for one and a quarter revolutions, shooting
all the targets as you go, and then going out to the next ring the second time
you see each opening. This will get you all the targets, and by the time you
reach the 4, you'll be done with loads of time to spare.

In case the name didn't tip you off, this level is virtually identical to the
level called Double Helix from a few floors ago. Except, this one is longer,
has fewer enemies, and worst of all, the clock is gone. All of this adds up
to a stage where you have to hurry a LOT more.
In case you skipped the original level, the key is just to go up one level,
then down the next, left to right, then right to left and back again. Just
watch out for that one banana shooter. Despite the fact that there's fewer
enemies this time, it seems like this one is better positioned to hit you, and
we really don't have time for it this time around.
Time is incredibly tight, so don't slow down for anything until you reach
the 9. You should know by now how to position yourself to grab the key in a
bunch of arrow tiles, but since you get 10 seconds for shooting the 9, the
real challenge is getting there.

You're kidding, right? Another ultra level? I guess the level designer was
just getting tired by this point. Oh well, it saves me drawing a new map.
This level has changed in a subtle but crucial way, and in that sense it's
actually a lot harder than it used to be. After you turn around and start
heading left, the 2 is RIGHT ABOVE YOU. Missing this is brutal, because then
you can't shoot anything else until you reach the end of the next row. The
arrows do loop around this time, but you'll lose so much time that you probably
won't beat the level that way. I guess the whole point of the earlier level
was to set you up to miss the 2 right there. An ultra oversight indeed.
The format of the third row has changed a little. There aren't any more
targets along the top, but there's another one along the bottom now, and the
arrows that the unmarked target sits on will take you back to the 2 if you
missed it. You may get sucked down there anyway trying to get that target,
just fight your way back up.
Like the last level, there's also an extra row here, but as long as you got
the 2, it really isn't that big of a deal. All the targets are below you here,
too. Also, the amount of money you get at the end has been reduced :(
The level also doesn't look like a dollar sign anymore.

Hey! It's a new level! It's not a rehash!
You will immediately be given the super skate. Despite what you might think,
the key here is NOT to fight the arrows. Actually, you have to follow the
arrows every time. Every time you get out of the arrows, just keep going in
the direction you were going. You barely have to turn except to shoot the
targets when you get to them and to grab the 2 big clocks.
The 6 is the hardest one to hit. Be ready for that one after you get the 5.
There's a lot of ground to cover here. Don't just let the the arrows carry
you, help yourself along by running in the same direction. Every second helps.
Also, don't forget to slow down when you get to the 9 and grab the key. A good
bull has to know how to stop.

First, head right and get that clock. You will likely only gain about 6
seconds by the time you make it back, but it's still important.
Basically, this is just a maze. I could try to explain where to go at each
intersection, but it would just be confusing. Use the map to figure it out.
On your way to the 1, there are 3 branches that have targets in them. Get
them all right now, you won't be back. After you're back to the 2, getting
targets 3 to 5 is easy. The real nightmare is the 6.
You remember that gun you passed when you got the 1? You have to get past
that. Yes, it's right up against a wall. Sit underneath it, and wait until it
starts to spin upwards. Then, deftly run under the gun and get away up the
other side as fast as you can. Thankfully, the 6 should be your last target,
so you don't have to repeat this feat. Just be careful, I've lost up to 15
seconds just by having the gun shoot me as I tried this.
There's quite a lot of money here, so take what you think you have time for.
Budget at least 15 seconds to get by that gun. Floor complete!

Floor 11:
I hate this floor. The first few levels are easy, but long, but then the
fourth and sixth levels are absolutely brutal. This means if you go game over,
you get to do the first three levels again, wasting tons of time. I recommend
heavy use of the maps here. Spare yourself the pain.

Remember that Bull Run level? Once again, the trick is just to trust the
arrows and just go straight when given the opportunity. you'll need to make 3
laps of this course to complete it, so help yourself along by running in the
direction of the arrows.
Don't fret if you miss an unmarked target, you have to make 3 passes, so you'll
get another chance at it. On the other hand, if you miss a numbered target,
turn around and get it. This level really isn't very hard, it's just long.

Surprisingly, this level isn't just a copy of the Gauntlet level.
The trick here is that you'll have to move left and right repeatedly, avoiding
many obstacles. The safest route is to stay near the top. If you try to
go along the bottom, you'll have far more guns and banana shooters to contend
with. You want to stay in the second to top row.
Get those two clocks along the top row the first time you make your way back
to the left. If you try it while going right, the gun will likely shoot you,
and we need all the time we can get.
This level is all about how well you can dodge while on ice. As long as you
stick to the top, you only have to dodge that one gun and banana shooter, but
it can still be tough because there's not a ton of time. Good luck.

Okay, hands up if you misread this level as "Computer Game". No? Maybe it's
just me. It is pretty late... but I'm so close to done the game!
Anyway, this level isn't very complicated. You have to shoot two numbers in
each area, then take the arrows to the other one. When heading back to the
first area, there are some things along the bottom. The points are useless,
but the super skate and clock are very handy. I actually recommend passing up
the clock and points the first time you see them, because getting them will
waste a lot of your super skate time. You can get them on the second pass.
However, you can grab it the first time if you're really low on time.

Argh! This level is terrible! Despite the fact that it contains no guns (and
it's surprisingly not a remix of an earlier level, either), this is easily the
hardest level you've faced so far. And believe it or not, it's all because of
bumpers.
That's right, those immobile, harmless little bumpers are your worst nightmare
here. The trouble is the first part where the arrows turn downward. It's an
unnavigateable nightmare of bumpery doom. Your only chance for survival is to
turn around as the arrows pull you to the right, then slow yourself to a crawl
by moving left as the right arrows run out. If done perfectly, the down arrows
will pick you up, and pull you straight down, hugging the left wall.
If you can do this flawlessly, you will be safe. However, hold A even slightly
too long, and you'll go into the wall, bounce off, and then land smack dab in
the middle of bumper land. You'll probably get tossed around several times,
losing precious time, of which there is barely enough here.
Assuming you survive, hitting the 2 and 3 at the bottom of the arrows is easy.
The 4 is a little trickier, it's in the top corner just before you start going
down again, so be ready for it.
From now, all that remains is to... loop around again... dodging the bumpers
with incredible skill yet another time. On a perfect run, I made it to the
8 and 9 with 10 seconds left, so that lets you know how much time you can lose
to the bumpers (not much).
Of course, you should run in the direction of the arrows for all parts other
than the bumper nightmare part. You need every second here.

It's another maze. Still, it's a refreshing break from that last level. Here,
a lot of the paths are dead ends that lead only to points, and then make you
fight against arrows to get back to the correct route. You should skip them.
From the start, shoot the target above you and head right, ignoring those
arrows. Head right from the 1, too, unless you absolutely crave money, and
make sure to get into that alcove below you as you go to the right. Past the
4 lies another dead end passage, to the top left, except this one contains two
small clocks and gold coins. I recommend taking this one. Fight your way
back out and take the top right exit from this room now.
You should now be near the 5. Get it, and then shoot the unmarked target at
the bottom left of this room. All that remains is to dodge the blob and fight
through all those arrows for the 6. Still, you've got plenty of time. I
had over 80 seconds left when I beat this stage.

I didn't even have to look at this map to know I was going to hate it.
Concentrate is back, and it's out for revenge. It's a larger stage this time.
At least I didn't have to draw a whole new map.
Actually, the map will be exactly how you beat it. With a map, this stage is
a snap. You won't have to remember where the targets are because you can look
them up. Otherwise you'd probably have to throw a few lives away to learn the
locations of the targets. And imagine if you ran out. You'd have to do the
fourth level over again. I feel sorry for anyone who didn't use a map.
There aren't any hidden items this time, and there's fewer enemies, so just use
the map and shoot all the targets. This floor is over!

Floor 12:
This is it. We've reached the pinnacle. Actually, if you've made it this far,
this floor isn't actually that hard. The first two levels are pretty easy as
long as you know where to go, then the middle two are pretty difficult, and
the last two are fairly easy. Well, the goal is in sight, let's this party
started!

This is kind of a tricky level. As the name implies, there are two tracks
around the center wall, and they run in different directions. There's no
really obvious pattern to riding the tracks here, either. You'll just have
to use the map.
You start by a super skate, but you'd have to turn around to get it. Don't
bother, just let the arrows take you. You'll get another skate in a second.
When you get to the 1, switch tracks until you reach the 2, then switch again,
go back to the 3, and switch until you get to the 4. Don't head into the 4's
track, keep going until you reach the 5. Keep letting the track take you, and
you'll eventually reach the 6. Switch again. You'll get the 7 and a clock.
Keep going until you reach the 8, then switch for the final time, pick up the
9, and get the key.
As long as you go in vaguely the right direction, you should make it. The
time limit isn't that tight with the clocks.

I've never seen the actual show, but I'm building up a healthy hatred for J.D.
just by playing this game. He seems to lend his name to annoying levels.
Run up immediately as you start to dodge the first gun. Stick to the left
wall, and advance very slowly. When you see the gun, wait for it to fire
towards you (you shouldn't get hit), then run past it. Do this twice and then
enter the arrows. You can't just run straight up, you'll get shot.
If you've made it this far, the rest is actually pretty easy. Just use the map
and work your way down from the top, shooting the targets as you go.
Don't try to fight your way past the banana shooter in the top row, go down to
the second and take the arrows, then go back up. Then backtrack and take the
arrows again, getting the target in the top right. Head straight down until
you reach the next target, then go back and go left and down. There's one more
target here. Head back up, left, and then down for the last two targets.

Like many levels you have faced recently, this stage is not complicated.
However, the execution is difficult.
First, head right, and get the clock. Now, make your way to the top of the
level for the first two targets, trying carefully to avoid the blobs. Though
being hit by them can mess you up, this is the easy part of the level.
Now, we have to try to get into the rooms that the 3 and 4 are in.
Unfortunately, the entrances are blocked by bumpers. You'll have to destroy
them. Banana shooters will attempt to push you around, and you're on ice, so
this won't be easy. However, there's really no trick to it. Just get close
to the bumpers and fire away.
Remember to do the room on the right first, so you can get the 3, then go for
the 4. This stage is all about precision.

This is a tough level, but what do you expect at this point?
Head up and right, onto the first arrows. Take the first set of up arrows
while hugging the right wall, this will let you avoid the banana shooter
effortlessly. The first target is above you, and it can be a pain. If you can
shoot it without going in the arrows, do so, but I get sucked into that area
almost every time. It's no big deal, you can fight your way back out (and the
blob may actually help you escape). Head left and up.
There's another target to shoot here. The arrows are placed more conveniently
this time. Keep going. There's not much time.
As you head right, you'll come upon a gun. Stay above it and quickly head to
the right. There's a target over here, and more importantly, a clock. Get
both, and then head down.
Rather than taking the down arrows on the far right, I recommend you fight your
way through the up arrows. Though the down arrows take you to money, you still
have to fight the arrows going right, and you DO NOT want to go to the bottom
right corner (it's just money and it wastes time we don't have). Either way,
head down the thin passage underneath the up arrows, and into the arrows going
left. In here is the final target (the 1, though there's no other numbers).
Grab the key and let's get out of here.

Thankfully, this is based on the Mini Gauntlet level and not the one that was
just called Gauntlet. The Gauntlet one could have been insane if they added
a ton of enemies.
This is actually easier than before. Sure, it's longer, you have to make one
more pass, and there's more bad guys, but you get a ton more clocks. Whereas
before there were 2 big clocks and 1 small, there's now 7 big clocks. That's
105 additional seconds of time if you get them all (which you should).
As far as the running back and forth goes, the top path is still the vastly
superior option. Stick close to the top, going around that one gun and going
over all the others. Go below the last gun to get to the targets on the right.
Just keep running back and forth between the two sides until you shoot all the
targets. You'd have to get shot crazily much to run out of time here. I
didn't even do this level well and I had like 30 seconds to spare at the end.

This is it, the final level! Wait... the final stage is a slight retool of
the Commuter Game stage? How anticlimactic.
You'll notice that the paths between the halves are incredibly long. This is
why we have so many super skates. Additionally, there's some hidden time and
another skate along the bottom wall. We don't really need that skate right
this second, but collect that time right away. Also get the clock at the top
when you shoot the 1. There's two more clocks on the way back.
There's almost no strategy to give here. Just run back and forth, shooting
the targets, and collecting another super skate when you need it. Use the map
to minimize how long you spend at each end looking for the target, and try not
to hit the bumpers. By now, you should be able to control the super skate
pretty well on ice. You may be low on time at the end, but you should make it.
###############################################################################
Congratulations! If you finished that last level, you've now finished the
entire game! Now, watch your character dance victoriously through all 12
areas. Dance with victory!
Now, enjoy your cheesy victory screens:
All right dude!!
Congratulations!!! You're a Fun House superstar!!!
These two screen and the credits will loop forever, so when you get tired of
listening to the music, you'll have to turn the game off.
Okay, so that wasn't the best reward, but it felt good to finally beat this
game, didn't it? I know it did for me.
For the curious, there are no hidden levels. Beating the game without warping
or even without dying at all don't give you anything different. Also, for all
that work you put into getting it, there's no high score table. You can't even
see your score anymore after the game ends. Oh well.

If you find something small like hidden points, I don't really care. Those
just clutter up the maps. Probably the same for coins, unless you find a ton.
Clocks, maybe. It depends if it's for a level where time is really tight.
Warps on the other hand, I definitely want to hear about. The same is true
if the FAQ contains some gross innaccuracy that you want to point out.
