I. INTRODUCTION
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Since there was none, I thought I'd made one for Family Feud which is a
puzzle game for the NES. This game is actually very good and _quite_
challenging but the graphics and the sound _really_ stink. Oh well, it's
worth playing should you want to test your memory and your skills. Enjoy!

II. GAME RULES
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Note : I have never watched Family Feud and I've written down the rules
solely by playing the game. So, there may be some minor rules missing or
a few ones that aren't entirely correct. If you spot any mistakes, just
let me know and I'll make the necessary corrections in the next update.
However, I'm pretty sure everything is correct now. ^_^
The rules are fairly simple. 2 families face off and of course, you are one
of those families. Before anything else, you will have to set your name which
can be anything and you'll move on to the show once you're done selecting
a name (which you keep even when your opponent changes).
The bulk of the game consists in similar feuds. The order is always : dads,
mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sons. Here, one question will be asked
and the first player to press the A button can answer. Once you've done so,
you have 45 seconds to give the correct answer.
If you give an uncorrect answer, the opponent can then answer. You both have
2 chances. If neither can answer the question in both attempts, then you'll
move on to a new one.
When you (or the opponent if he was first to reply) answer correctly, the
opponent (or you) will still have a chance afterwards. The anser board is
set up as following :
1. answer 1 ------------- a %
2. answer 2 ------------- b %
3. answer 3 ------------- c %
n. answer n ------------- d %
This is an example but there can be up to 12 answers. As explained in the
game itself, the question was previously asked to 100 persons and the top
answers were then tabulated (which is why the total doesn't always add up
to 100). Your answer must be one of those.
One of the rules in the game is directly related to the percentages. Suppose
you give answer 3 first but your opponent gives answer 1. Since he got a
higher percentage (referred to as 'first choice'), his family will then be
able to give the remaining answers. But if your answer was higher, then the
other members of your family would be able to give the other answers.
In either case, this goes on as long as the correct answers are given, each
time with a different member. Only 3 incorrect answers can be given and once
this happens, the opposite family can try guessing the answers.
Now, you are probably thinking that you automatically get the money for
any question you have answered but that's false. First, the money you get is
the same as the percentage. So, if an answer's percentage was 45%, your
amount would rise by $45, etc... There are certain bonuses though at the end
of the game but I'll talk about that later.
If you give 3 uncorrect answers and your opponent manages to get a correct
one, he gets the money you for your answers. Of course, you can also make
money this way but just keep in mind that as you get further into the game,
the CPU very rarely makes mistakes.
As a result, you just have to get all the answers and you can still get
through by taking advantage of your opponent's mistakes. If you win by a
good margin, you have a bonus game later where 2 random members of the
family need to answer 5 questions. The questions don't change for each member
but you need to give different answers and these can be quite tough.
If you do manage to get enough money, you will be told how much money you
have so far and are offered the chance to challenge another team. The
game ends when you get $20,000. To be able to continue though, you need to
beat each team by a good margin, otherwise you cannot access the bonus game.
So, you'll have to restart all over again.

III. HINTS & TIPS
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Before I list all the questions (and answers) you will be asked in the game,
here are a few tips if you want to play without the Q & A list. As a matter
of fact, I advise you to play without checking the list first because it
will spoil everything.
The only reason I wrote this FAQ is because I was not sure of the rules
myself (since I'm not American and never watched the show) and I then added
the answers because the game engine can be really weird sometimes.
Anyway, it's better if you just consult the list whenever you're really
stuck since there is no continue system in the game. Reading all the
questions beforehand will ruin the whole game since you won't have anything
left to do by yourself.
~ A good way of cheating is to tap A as soon as the host has finished with
the question since you have 45 seconds to give your answer. Doing so can
also be a drawback though as you may not come up with the answer (but
thankfully, my guide is now here ^_^).
~ Don't take all your time entering your answer for the rest of the family,
I can't recall how many times I lost due to this. Try to be quick.
~ Always go for the most obvious answers first. Remember that these depend
on surveys.
Finally, here is the list of the questions and answers. The number next to
each answer is how much money you'll get for it. The list is not complete
yet since there is an awful number of questions but I shall, hopefully, have
them all soon. ^_^
Answers in brackets can be used as alternates. You will still win if you
give these.
In some cases, I will also point out that some specific alternates will not
be accepted.
Some answers do not appear fully in the game due to lack of space. Note that
even if a shortcut is used, you _have_ to put the full answer when you can
do so. In such cases, the full answers (i.e. the ones you must give) are
given in brackets.
1. Los Angeles 39
2. New York 15
3. Philadelphia 11
4. Boston 8
5. Chicago 5
6. Kansas City 4
7. Atlanta 3
8. Frisco 3
9. Seattle 3
10. Houston 2
11. Saint Louis 2
A: 1. Make honey 56 ('Honey' alone will not be accepted :)
2. Sting 29
3. Buzz 9
4. Make wax 2 ('Wax' alone will not be accepted)
5. Pollenate 2 (Pollen)
If you think I have omitted something or just have any queries about the
game, just e-mail me. Please put 'Family Feud' as the subject, otherwise
your e-mail be ignored.

REVISION HISTORY
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Ver 0.50 (3/8/02) - First release. Q & A section isn't complete yet due to
the sheer amount of those but the rest is doing great!
Ver 0.70 (3/11/02) - More questions added. Seems as if I'll have all of them
by the next update unless something goes wrong! :)
Ver 0.90 (3/20/02) - Ending completion. Only a couple of questions need to
be added now.
Ver 1.00 (4/21/02) - After checking twice, I am now fairly sure that I have
all questions. In English, the guide is complete, so
it seems very unlikely I'll update it anymore for the
simple reason I don't have to add anything.
Ver 1.10 (4/29/02) - Typos corrected and I also rewrote the introduction.
Notice the e-mail change too.
Ver Final (7/17/02) - Final update.
Ver Final (8/12/02) - Various corrections thrown in (FAQ section).
