Welcome to 'Erika to Satoru no Yume Bouken' for the NES, released by Namco in
1988. It was only released in Japan.

The guide uses Shift-JIS to display Japanese characters in .txt form. If you
cannot see them automatically and just see some garbled font, set your brower
encoding or file viewer manually.

This game is a text adventure. To play you need to have knowledge of the
Japanese language. Thus this walkthrough is intended for players who are able
to read and understand the story. Thanks to the plain interace it is quite easy
to play it with the walkthrough, but if you do not understand the storyline
then there is little point in playing the game.

02.) OVERVIEW & CONTROLS G0200
===============================================================================

At the main menu you have two choices, start a new game or use a password to
skip to another chapter. If you start a new game, the next question is if you
play single or co-op play. In single player you need to switch over between
characters, whereas in co-op you can let another person move the second
charater which speeds things up quite a bit.

On the map you move around one of your characters. Each controller can be used
to play one character, or switch with SELECT. As you move around you come
across location to visit. Enter with the A Button.

Display:
````````
The top half of the screen is split into the two character's own view of where
they are. If one enters a location then the other person's window remains, but
the large view is used for that location. Should both enter this location you
only see the location and the character pictures. The bottom half has a book
on the left which tells you what is happening in the story. The small window
on the right usually say you should press A to continue, but it may also
contain and option to choose from. The action icons complete the display.

If you find the 'P' on the map you can ride a bike around. Park it on these
spots with the 'B' button. It increases speed to move around on the map. 'S'
denotes the Station. This is where you generally start and end the chapter. If
there are more than one station on the map you can use it to travel around from
one to the other. You can also swim in shallow water, denoted by () rather than
[] for paths and locations. If you are on a bike then you can't swim, thus park
it first before entering the water. The girl can only swim around 15 spaces in
one go before drowning, be careful! The boy does not seem to have any limit.

During your quest you will come across a Quiz. It will ask you a random
question you have to answer correctly to advance the story. For the answers,
check the Quiz section.

After you are done with a location, you usually need to GO out. It is not worth
mentioning every single time in the walkthrough.

Unless otherwise stated, actions can be performed by either character by
themselves. A lot of times you need to have both characters present and very
rarely you require to use a specific person for something.
